-------------------------- -------------------------- Jesse's eyes clouded in contemplation as he walked through the Falls. It was the first chance he had gotten to come to this particular spot even though he had been in Mystic Falls for a while now. As he looked around, he mentally reviewed everything that he had observed such as the arrival of other new faces that seemed to worry the long-time inhabitants. But of course this was all kept under wraps as those who knew about vampires and other creatures most likely didn't want anyone to get unnecessarily frightened or suspicious. But that was fine with him. He had found that he tended to handle things better when not a whole lot of people knew that he was aware of what really went in on in a town. He let out a sigh as he ran his fingers through his hair. It was one of his days off so instead of the blue uniform that was common for deputies, he was wearing a charcoal gray v-neck shirt and a pair of dark blue jeans and black tennis shoes. And like always, his outfit was completed with his Vervain wrist cuff. It was something that he never took off even though he put Vervain in his coffee every morning. After all, one could never be too careful in a town that seemed to be a haven for vampires. Okay, maybe he was jumping to conclusions about the amount of vampires here. He had only met one and that had been Lexi. But in his experience, where there was one vampire, there was at least a couple more. He then mentally shook these thoughts off as he continued to look around. It was rather pretty. He'd definitely have to come here more often. Hopefully, he'd get a chance. He knew from experience that periods of lulls were often followed by periods of chaos and he, for one, wasn't really looking forward to that, though he'd do his job to the best of his abilities---no matter what needed to be done... ----------------------- Chelcie didn’t have class today, and since she had decided to take a break from doing her research on this town. She had thought that there was no better way than to relax. She wore a light green sports bra and sport shorts, with a light blue denim jacket just to shield herself from the wind, not that it was windy because really, it was a nice day with the sun out, Chelcie just tended to drive a little too fast, and when the wind managed to catch up, that was when he got chilly.
Chelcie wasn’t usually somebody to be worried about speed limits, you could even say that she just straight out ignored those most of the time, she also definitely wouldn’t be considered safe. This was probably why, nobody would agree to be a passenger, back in San Francisco, Grunted she was young and at the typical age that most considered hoon drivers, which as Chelcie thought on that, as she rode her bike through Mystic Falls. She probably wasn’t doing anything to change those few that that she cared either way; bringing her bike to its maximum speed was the only way that she knew how to ride.
Bringing her lil’ red devil, a name that she had only just began to name her bike. She kicked the stand and swung her leg off the bike, running was just about Chelcie’s absolute favorite thing to do. After placing her backpack besides the stationary motorcycle, and her denim jacket on top, resting on the leather seat, Chelcie did a few quick stretches before taking off, along the path heading up to the falls.
As she ran, Chelcie was a fairly fit girl her job kind of depended on this, so she was able to run for quite some time before needing a few minutes rest. It was such a nice day, honestly the day wasn’t able to get much better, and it reminded her of being back home, Chelcie was even considering doing some cliff jumping, if she decided to run to the top.
“Jesse!” At the distance that she was, there was no way for Chelcie to be entirely sure that the man in front of her, was the police officer that she had met the other day, though that didn’t stop her before, approaching someone picking up the pace slightly to catch the man. Chelcie had kind of expected to wear something similar in her mind, when Jesse wasn’t on duty, the v-neck and dark blue denim jeans certainly did suit his look.

-------------------------- -------------------------- Jesse was still looking around when he heard the sound of a bike. Who is that? he wondered. Whoever it was was on a motorcycle, but it wasn't like he could automatically tell you what kind of bike it was though. He wasn't that into them. Oh, don't get him wrong, he appreciated a good-looking bike as much as the next guy---or girl---but he wasn't a fanatic about it. Which was all right by him. He just could never understand why some people just seemed to live and breathe for nothing but vehicles. There was a whole world out there and it would be missed if a person only focused on one thing. And who wanted to miss life? Not him, thank you very much. Jesse than gave himself a mental shake. How had he gotten on that train of thought? Man, he had a bad habit of wandering when he was on patrol alone. He seriously needed a partner again. You know, someone to talk to in order to stave off the boredom. However, it wasn't like the department was going to get another transfer and he was the only deputy who had the graveyard shift. Okay, it's official. This night sucks, he thought to himself. He hated being bored. Unfortunately, a lot of police work was just routine patrol and paperwork. It wasn't as action-packed as tv shows and movies made it out to be. Not that television had been responsible for his career decision. It hadn't. He had become a police officer because he wanted to help people. Besides, with the resources available to the department, he'd have a better chance of keeping tabs on his brother. Was he paranoid when it came to making sure that he was okay? Probably. But come on! The guy had to move on every few years and they could only keep in contact so much. It wasn't as if he could settle down anywhere. People would definitely notice that he wasn't aging. A voice calling his name broke him out of his reverie. Who had called him? He then turned in the direction of approaching footsteps and he gave a soft smile of recognition when he saw the girl. "Chelcie, right?" he asked, hoping that he hadn't gotten the girl's name wrong. He was somewhat good at remembering names, but there were times that he goofed. Hey, he was only human. And a part of being human was making mistakes. But hopefully, this wasn't one of those times. After all, it wouldn't be leaving a good impression if he had screwed up her name. Word Count: 448 Outfit: Described in first thread Tag: Chelcie Note: It was fine. ----------------------- Chelcie enjoyed running, it was just about the only normal thing that she did now, and it made her feel like a person again. Not somebody who was fighting, or trying to fight evil as the case may be, because really she was still only a rookie when it came to hunting. She had been on a few hunts unaccompanied, though they weren’t by any means big or even that difficult, Harper had ordered her to stay away from the big stuff, at least until she was able to find Dean and Sam, she didn’t really have a lot of actual field experience under her belt, so to speak.
Chelcie was please with seeing Jesse again, though slightly surprised at the current whereabouts. This gave her another opportunity to grill the police officer, in her friendliest way possible, being a police officer in a small town; Chelcie could only assume that the man was well informed about most everything. She didn’t know a lot about the man she was searching, or even that they where a man at all, but Chelcie did have a few ideas of what to ask, and even if she didn’t , some files from the police department might find their way into her hands, if she played her cards right.
“Well I gotta give’ya props. Remembering a girl’s name from one meet is kinda impressive.” Chelcie said, as she continued to walk past Jesse, she figured that the reason why he was here, because of this she thought it pretty safe to assume that he would follow. “How’s the force been working out?”

-------------------------- -------------------------- Jesse smiled as Chelcie complimented his ability to remember her name after one meeting. "Advantage of being a cop," he said. Well, more like he tried to always commit names and faces to memory. But that was besides the point. He was just glad that he had managed to remember her name as it would've been embarrassing if he hadn't. But he had so it wasn't. And that was always good. He never liked being embarrassed, but then, who did? No, it was better to remember things and to make a good impression on a person. At the question of how the force was working out, Jesse smiled. "It's going good," he replied. "I'm really enjoying it," he added. Plus, it gave him the opportunity to update his database on the Supernatural. Not that the sheriff or anyone else knew that. And if he had anything to say about it, they never would. It wasn't like he was letting it get in the way of his job. He was just keeping an eye on his brother and that wasn't anyone's business but his own. "So what about you? How's Mystic Falls treating you so far?" he queried. He had to admit, he was curious about this girl. All he really knew about her was that she liked to joke around. And of course there was going to be more to her than that. He just had to find out what it was...without prying into her personal business of course. ----------------------- “Not to mention the hot uniforms.” Chelcie said, joking when Jesse had told her the reason he was good at names, although she wasn’t flirting; people would argue she was. As far as she saw things, Chelcie hid her seriousness behind humor, or attempted humor, she still needed to drill the man for information, and there was no better person to do that to then a cop, Jesse would have to know about everything, or nearly everything that went on in Mystic Falls. There was a high possibility that, Jesse could be able to connect her missing dots, to the one vampire that she needed to find, it was only a matter of time Chelcie knew she would find him, and she was hoping that Jesse would be how she found the evil creature.
“What do you enjoy about working in law enforcement?” For the most part, it was a pretty basic question if ever there was one, but it was a necessary question. She didn’t know the man all that well, so instead of seeming weird and to avoid, the ever dreaded look of fishing for information, Chelcie had decided to start her questioning off slowly—working her way up. She did have a few questions that she needed to ask, but most of them consisted of what somebody would be thrown into the nut house. Jesse was different, or at least Chelcie thought he was, that there was something more behind that sexy rugged police officer, instead of coming out and asking her questions outright, she figured that it was probably best to make him feel comfortable around her.
“Mystic Falls and Richmond ain’t too bad, well Richmond isn’t I don’t spend much time in Mystic Falls to have an opinion. But they are smaller then what I’m use to.” Chelcie said answering Jesse’s question, how she was enjoying Mystic Falls, as she made her way past the man, both of them continuing up.

-------------------------- -------------------------- Jesse rolled his eyes and smiled as Chelcie said that having a hot uniform was an advantage of being a cop. "Well, I don't know if I'd call a uniform hot," he stated. But he supposed that some people dug that kind of thing. Not him though. He much preferred jeans and t-shirts. They were more natural-looking. And...he was getting distracted. Great. That wasn't very fair to Chelcie and it made him look like a jerk. Which he tried not to be. Unfortunately, his mental drifting probably wasn't convincing Chelcie of that. When Chelcie asked him what he liked about working in law enforcement, Jesse gave a grin. "I can help people. It's all I ever wanted to do when I was a kid: help people. "Making things right, defending people, getting justice...there's just something that feels good about it," he answered. Okay, maybe the answer was a little dorky, but it was how he felt. He liked being there for people and being a cop allowed him to do just that. Oh, he supposed he could've become a social worker or a counselor or something of that nature, but he had just been drawn to become a cop. As he followed her, he listened to her answer to his question as she stated that they were both smaller than she was used to, and that Richmond wasn't too bad, though she didn't really know about Mystic Falls since she hadn't been there much. "Fair enough," he stated. "And I know what you mean about the size. Queens was definitely bigger," he commented. And more dangerous. But he wasn't going to tell her that. Besides, that would make it sound like he didn't like his hometown, which couldn't be further from the truth. He loved Queens. It had just been time for a change. And Mystic Falls was definitely a change. Word Count: 311 Outfit: Described in first thread Tag: Chelcie Note: --------------------------

----------------------- Jesse was a cool guy, though just vaguely a little too sweet. Somebody did have to definitely give him a good shake. He was endearing, he was a little too good somebody needed to rough him up a bit. “Well speaking on behalf of every other girl we all love a man in uniform. Or we’re gay.” Chelcie said as she gave the officer of the law a smirk, there was slight hint of flirtation in her voice. She was testing the waters, seeing how Jesse handled when somebody did flirt with him, personally though Chelcie didn’t think his mind would be able to cope, that was how much of a good guy she thought he was.
But she couldn’t help cackling in mirth that almost caused her to fall. As he explained why it was, that he was in law enforcement, because Jesse was not only sweet but incredibly cheesy in addition, “ah well I didn’t know I was talking with a freaking angel.” She joked, evidently making light of how meek he appeared to be, compared to how not so meek she was, so she joked again saying “Aw crap geeze Jesse way to make a girl feel bad.” Since almost everyone she met, said how much she wasn’t like the typical girl. Chelcie was more like a typical guy but in truth—she never was all that tactful when it came to humor.
Walking on past and continuing on—leading Jesse up the trail she spoke again, “huh I would’ve figured you for a small town, farmboy?” Chelcie said again finding hilarity, fact that he hadn’t always been in a small town, while also throwing a nickname on him. ----------------------- Words - 283 Tag - Jesse Murdoch Notes - -- Outfit - Chelcie's outfit, Chelcie's bike

-------------------------- -------------------------- Jesse chuckled as Chelcie said that all women loved a man in uniform unless they were gay. "Or they just have a different type," he pointed out. Though he couldn't deny that he had caught people looking at him more when he was in uniform. However, he was sure that it didn't mean that it was true for all women. Maybe they had been wondering why he had been in the area or something. But then again, he was a guy, so how would he really know what a woman liked? Okay, he had to get out of this line of thinking as it wasn't exactly being productive in any way. And apparently she thought his reasons for joining the force was humorous, for she began to laugh, saying that she hadn't realized that she was talking to an angel. "No, not an angel. Just someone who prefers not to walk on the wild side," he told her. And yes, he was well aware of how boring that sounded, but it was just who he was. If anyone else didn't like it, well, screw 'em. He didn't care if he wasn't liked, just as long as people knew that he could be trusted. He then raised an eyebrow when she made another joke saying that he knew how to make a girl feel bad. At least...he hoped it was a joke. Cause he didn't want to make anyone feel bad. After all, that wasn't how he had been raised. "I'm sure you can't be all that bad," he told her with his own grin. She was appearing to be pretty feisty sure, but it didn't necessarily mean that she was bad or anything. They continued walking as she said that she had figured him for a small town farm boy, and he laughed. "Really? And why is that?" he wondered. This oughtta be good, he thought to himself. After all, it wasn't everyday you got told that you gave out the vibe of being from a small town, so yes, he was curious to hear what she had to say. ----------------------- “No, or their gay,” Chelcie said trying to hold her snorts at bay. She was attempting to be serious with what she said. But from what the conversation had turned to, she was having trouble being serious about it. But from her experience that was what most girls liked, so maybe she just hung around the wrong type of people too much.
Of course there were only really two types of men they liked. A man in uniform, or the bad boy, which was her personal favorite, there was also the cute and awkward type. She understood why they were popular, but didn’t know why they needed to be so awkward, nonetheless is did work in their favour.
She continued her uncontrollable laughter, as he further explained his previous answer. “Aw but walking on the wild side is so much fun, come on give it ago it will be my challenge to so you the fun side of life.” She teased though while slightly mocking his answers.
“Yeah I guess you’re right, I am pretty awesome if I don’t say so myself.” Jesse had probably already guessed that he hadn’t truly insulted Chelcie. It wasn’t possible to insult her; she was such a carefree kind of girl, although she definitely needed a lesson in humility, something that Jesse seemed like he would be able to teach her.
Continuing to walk along the forest path, Chelcie started to let Jesse know how she knew that he was from a small town. “You’re a good guy, maybe a little too good.” She said simply, it didn’t really need much explanation.

-------------------------- -------------------------- Jesse laughed as Chelcie insisted that the only way a woman wouldn't be attracted to a man in uniform was if they were gay. "Okay, I know when to pick my battles and this isn't one that's worth it," he stated. For one thing, this was starting to get a little embarrassing. After all, what guy liked talking about what turned a girl on with another girl? That was a conversation best left to the female population or a dating counselor of some sort. Was there even such a thing as a dating counselor? And he was getting distracted again. Great. At this rate, Chelcie would be thinking he was some kind of space cadet. And she still thought his answer was funny. In fact, she seemed to be laughing even harder as she stated that walking on the wild side was fun and that he should give it a try and that it was her challenge to him. "I walked on the wild side once already and it didn't really end well for me," he insisted. And from what he had been told by his roommate at the time, that was putting it mildly as the one time that he had just mentioned was when he had done his drunk striptease. Not that he was going to tell her this as there was no reason to scar her for the rest of her life at the information. When she said that she was pretty awesome, Jesse gave a shrug. "I don't think I can answer that in any way that wouldn't sound weird," he confessed. Yeah, he was toeing a line here. There was having a good rapport with civilians and then there was acting inappropriately and he was going to make sure that he didn't cross that line. Not that Chelcie would think that there was a line, but he still had to be careful. He then chuckled as she said that he was a good guy, adding that maybe he was too good. "Well, as long as I don't finish last or die young like the sayings go, I think I can live with it," he stated with a small chuckle. Word Count: 364 (It's not an insane length! ----------------------- “Smart, good looking and adorably caring, don’t you just tick all the boxes.” Chelcie stated, catching on that he seemed to embarrass himself. She wasn’t mean, but Chelcie definitely liked to have fun and play games, Jesse now better count on that she was going to do that with him. He had asked for it, being too sweet, nobody was that sweet. It was a good thing though, that he didn’t argue with her, because she mightn’t know what most girls find attractive in a man, since she was more man then chick anyway. Chelcie was only going by the god awful romantic comedy flicks.
She couldn’t believe how somebody could have so much cheese; his answer had topped anything that she has ever heard. Even more then those awful films, the ones that the only reason you watch them is to pay them out. Not that it’s boring or anything, it’s actually quite adorable. But come on man lose the cheese. She was shocked; her laughter was because she was so shocked, with having heard his answer. “Yeah well, don’t take this the wrong way or anything. But I find it hard to believe that you’ve tried the wild side of life.” Chelcie said sarcastically, trying to goad him onto the wild side.
“Oh I don’t know how about you try and we’ll see what happens.” She said grinning, trying to play innocent, which wasn’t something she normally was, “come on dude, she moaned out, while again prodding him, and trying to get him to loosen a bit. “Feed my ego.” Chelcie said being sure to give each word it’s time in the spotlight.
She sniggered as Jesse mentioned about not dying young, which was a real possibility for her. For him too, and for anybody who lived in town. But she so wasn’t going to that depressing place, not to mention she didn’t even know how to do the emotional talks well. “But haven’t you heard, nice guys always finish last.” She said grinning with a lot of cheese.

-------------------------- -------------------------- Jesse smiled briefly as Chelcie stated that he was smart, good-looking, and caring, and that he checked off all the boxes. "You say that like it's a bad thing," he said with a grin. But in his mind, it wasn't. These were good qualities to have and he was proud of them. So what if she poked fun at it? She didn't appear to be doing it maliciously, but rather in good fun. And he was okay with that. He then grinned as she told him that she found it hard to believe that he had ever walked on the wild side of life. "Well, maybe it's not wild by your standard, but there was a college party where I had a bit too much to drink. Bad idea," he said. Hopefully she'd just let him leave it at that because he was not elaborating. He probably shouldn't have said this much. But oh well. What was done was done and it was too late to take back what he had said. Now he just had to take whatever she decided to dish out at him. Then again, this was actually kind of fun. Not that he'd ever say that out loud. His grew as she told him that he should at least try and that they'd see what happened, adding that she wanted him to feed her ego. "I have a feeling that your ego's just fine," he deadpanned. Yep. No lack of confidence here, he thought to himself. He had a feeling that she wouldn't be too upset if he didn't continue the conversation. She just seemed like the type of girl who would go with the flow. When she asked him if he had heard the saying that nice guys finished last, he gave a rueful grin. "Yeah, that's been pretty much the story of my life," he commented. He didn't care though. He was who he was and that was all he could be. And wow. That sounded incredibly cheesy. Well, it was a good thing that he hadn't said it out loud because he had no doubt that she would've said something about it. ----------------------- Chelcie was in pain, true pain that came from withholding laughter for too long. Jesse Murdoch was far too cute for his own good; he needed ruffling up which something that she was determined to do. “Oh sweetie it is indeed a bad thing,” she stated in a condescending tone, if Chelcie wasn’t careful it could have even been taken as belittling. Way to go Chelcie to go poking fun a cop. Hunters and officers of the law didn’t generally mix well, when they came into one place, so it probably wasn’t her brightest idea ever. “Somebody might just come along and take advantage of you.” Chelcie said knowingly.
She usually didn’t have such trouble believing, that somebody didn’t have a wild side. That was what collage was for—to let that wild side out, and yet with Jesse she knew that it was entirely possible that he didn’t. She still didn’t believe that however. For all that made Jesse Innocent, she just knew that deep down even he had a wild side, Chelcie was so convinced. That she was going to do everything she could to bring it forth.
The best way Chelcie thought to do this, was to slowly goad the police officer into proving her wrong, and she started this by saying. “Oh, no, please by all means don’t stop on account of little old me?” she said with the best virtuousness that she was able to muster, pushing Jesse to explain himself.
Clutching her chest, she pretended to be hurt pretending to wipe a tear that had never put a glimmer onto her face. “Words, words can hurt you know.” Chelcie said pretending to sound saddened, “Whatever happened to telling a girl what she wants to hear.” She said continuing her façade.
Finally reaching the summit, Chelcie couldn’t believe what she heard from Jesse next. “Well dude I know the best remedy for that?” she asked, impishly winking at him.

-------------------------- -------------------------- Jesse looked at Chelcie who was practically breathless from laughing so hard at his comment that she had said that he ticked off all the right boxes as if it was a bad thing, saying that it was bad. "How? How can that be bad? I mean, I do eventually plan on starting a family someday and I may not know a whole lot about girls, but I'm pretty sure that when they're ready to settle down, they want someone who's on the same wavelength with them. At least, in the areas that matter the most," he stated. Areas such as financial security, love, hard-work, things like that. And if that made him too much of a goody-good, oh well. When she said that someone could come along and take advantage of him, he chuckled. "Well, I try not to go into situations with my eyes closed," he told her. He knew the value of being prepared, but he wasn't all that naive either. At least, he hoped he wasn't. From the expression on her face, Jesse could tell that Chelcie didn't believe him, something that was confirmed when she pressed him to explain his comment, telling him not to stop on her account. "Nice try, but no," he laughed. There was no way she was finding out anything about his college days. That was under a metaphorical lock and key and that was where it was going to stay. He then let out a chuckle as she clutched her chest, pretending to be wounded as she told him that words could hurt and asking him what had happened to ever telling a girl what she wanted to hear. "So you would've preferred me to lie to you?" he asked, giving her an amused look. Somehow, he didn't think she would have preferred that option, but it was leading to some fun bantering. He hadn't had banter like this since he had moved here and he hadn't realized how much he had missed it until now.
