- - - - - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - - - - - Caroline so didn't want to go to team building tonight. As the Captain, her faculty supervisor made it a rule that she had to organize some form of team building activity at least once a month. Last month she'd taken the team to go bowling together. Before they'd gone to play laser tag, and had even gone to the zoo once. However this month she totally didn't want to do anything, and yet she had to. It was the last weekend of the month and if she wanted to remain Captain she had to organize something. So she'd called all of the girls and called a mandatory team building event, and told them to meet her at the Richmond Big Surf. It was a little ways out of town but they all planned to carpool together. Well all except Caroline, as she had to be there before they did.
Adorned in a simple t-shirt and jeans, she wore flip flops and had her bikini on underneath her outfit. She would be taking it off anyways so what was on top didn't really matter much. Placing her bag into the car, she had her own towel inside, along with a cuter fresh change of clothes and shoes as well. After they were done swimming they usually went out and got something to eat, so she needed a second outfit. Throwing her stuff into the car, she hopped in and began the drive to Richmond. On the way there she placed a call to Dean, whom didn't answer. It was the middle of the day so she doubted he was out working. Probably sleeping, eating, or doing something with his brother. She left him a voicemail stating that she'd be back tonight after their team building, total sarcasm in her voice at the mention of team building.
As she got there she paid (with the school's money they'd raised) and got lemonade and water delivered to the girl's poolside tables. After setting it all up she laid her towel out over her chair, and then watched as the girls started to head in. Some of the girls started waving and she went to wave back, but noticed they weren't even waving to her. Beginning to lift her shirt over her head, she turned to see the football team at the other end of the team. No way... And Matt Donovan, standing across the pool from her. She averted her eyes from his and took the t-shirt completely off. Throwing her flip flops to the ground, she wriggled out of her jeans as well. She was now adorned in only her tiny bikini, though completely adorable bikini. Her long blonde hair flowed down to her bare beck and she turned again to look at him, though caught him looking at her as well. Caroline forced a weak smile, but soon turned back to the girls.
They hadn't seen each other since he'd found out about her and Klaus. He'd stormed out of there before she'd even had the chance to tell him that she hadn't slept with the hybrid. Things were tense between them to say the least, and she eyed her girls questioningly, assuming that one of them had leaked their location to the football team. Damn female hormones... - - - - - - - - - - - - - - ::TAG:: Matthew "Matt" Gregory Donovan ::OUTFIT:: Click here for Caroline's outfit.::WORD COUNT:: 558 ::NOTES:: ----

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -He had no idea why the hell the coaches had gotten it in their head that the football team needed to learn how to function as a team but that was where he was heading at the moment, to some team building thing in Richmond at the local water park. Not that he was complaining since he was technically being ordered to go hang out outside at a water park all day but still, it was a very strange concept to him when it came to football. Just the other day the coaches had called a meeting and said there would be a mandatory ‘practice’ on Saturday. So they had all shown up in their practice uniforms only to be told to go home and get their swim trunks and meet in Richmond in two hours.
Their coaches were odd. Granted, it was a breath of fresh air when compared to Coach Tanner whose idea of Team Building was to scream at all of them as a team instead of individually, but still, an odd day all around.
Pulling into the parking lot he realized how damn crowded this place was, something that was a bit odd to him since it wasn’t the usual beach time of year, then again it was still fairly warm out so he figured people were taking advantage of the nice weather. Parking his truck he jumped out, grabbed his beach towel and headed towards the entrance, showing his student ID and paying his admissions fee. Heading over to the group of football players he wasn’t paying attention to anything until he heard Coach’s voice saying that they were meeting up to do ‘Team Building’ with the cheerleading squad. Now see this didn’t seem like such a bad thing as he got along with most people until it hit him exactly who was on the cheerleading squad.
Turning around he seemed to stop stupid as he saw the object of his affection taking her shirt and jeans off, revealing a very tiny bikini that if he hadn’t been standing in front of a group of guys would have made him stiffen a bit but luckily the reminder of not only their last meeting but the knowledge that he was around a group of people kept him from embarrassing himself.
Noting that the coaches had saved chairs directly behind the cheerleading squad the group headed over, Matt putting his towel at the opposite end of the group from where she was. Alright now as you can see we’ve got the Mystic Falls cheerleading squad and the football team here today. This was intentional as we need to see some more team bonding between the two groups. Was all that he heard before the chorus of laughter could be heard from the guys.
Yeah, like most of them needed to bond anymore with the cheerleaders…though he really couldn’t say anything since if Elena would have still been on the squad he would have technically slept with two of them. However that was neither here nor here. Now, you are going to be paired up every couple of hours with a different partner from the different team. For now we’ve got… and that was all he listened to before tuning his coach out, not really caring who everyone else was paired with. Unfortunately when he heard his name he tuned in, and immediately wished he would have stayed tuned out. Donovan and Forbes. Figures. Just fucking figured.
Walking over he turned to Caroline, trying desperately not to show any emotion. “So partner, looks like we’re stuck with each other for the next few hours. Any idea what you want to do first?” He asked, feeling a smile try and grace his lips but desperately trying not to show it. he couldn’t help it, he couldn’t stay mad at her even though he desperately wanted to.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - - - - - The girls were all up in arms about being placed here with the football team. Not... Actually they were being pretty damned obvious as to how excited they were about it. All of them had raging hormones. Not to mention a lot of them were either dating or sleeping with a football player. Some of them were sleeping with multiple...Candice was at least, and the girl was well known for it. She couldn't imagine what went through that girl's head sometimes. Hell, Candy had even slept with two brothers. Supposedly in the same night too. And while it sounded kind of tempting it wasn't something that she would have ever considered doing. Now, if she could multiply Dean a couple of times or Matt shouted her subconscious, well then she'd certainly do that.
Speaking of Dean...shit. She was now going to have to tell him that she spent the day with Matt. Well indirectly, but still. They'd just recently gotten into a fight over each other's exes. Plus he'd seen the picture of Matt she had beside her bed. It was moved now, but it should have been moved a long time ago. She simply hadn't had it in her to move his beautiful face. Anyways though, that was not going to be an enjoyable conversation.
Right now though she focused on what the football coach was saying. Much to her despair, she didn't have much authority when compared to their coach. As she was Captain she wasn't actually a coach. Unfortunately enough...So when the coach paired her with Matt her jaw nearly dropped to the floor. Her eyes flashed to him quickly and she couldn't help but feel nervous about it. For all she knew, he still fucking hated her guts. One of the girls elbowed her in the ribs as she was paired with Matt, to which Caroline simply replied to with a glare. After he was done naming people off, Caroline walked a bit towards Matt as he walked to move her as well. "Watch out for Forbes and Donovan in the deep end!" Shouted one of the football players behind Matt. A look of utter embarrassment crossed her face and she felt like going over there and compelling the kid to something completely embarrassing. However she refrained, knowing it would upset Matt with her even further.
Shaking her head at the comment she narrowed her eyes in at Matt. "Hey" she said, her voice totally not enthused. Not because of him, but still annoyed by the football player. Clearly they'd heard them that night in Richmond. "Get drunk?" she said sarcastically. With a shake of her shoulders she tried not to think of the annoying boy from earlier. "I don't know, do you want to just swim for a little bit?" she asked. With this they both headed over to the side of the pool. Without an hesitation, she dove in head first. Rising up from the water, her blonde and now soaked hair laid down her bare back. The water caused her skin to glisten around her chest and she waited patiently for Matt to join her. "Coming in, or what?" she teased, splashing him a bit with her hands. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - ::TAG:: Matthew "Matt" Gregory Donovan ::OUTFIT:: Click here for Caroline's outfit.::WORD COUNT:: 568 ::NOTES:: ----

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -He groaned when he heard one of the guys make a comment about them going into the deep end and his face flamed. He chanced a look at Caroline and noted that hers was the same shade of red. Yeah, he hadn’t had a chance to tell her that her screams and cries of pleasure from their one night stand had been heard by everyone in the general vicinity of their room and unfortunately it was too late now as everyone around them laughed. Great, just great. Just what he needed, more damn jokes at his expense. Oh well, nothing he could do about it now.
He rolled his eyes, trying to play it off like it was nothing. “Mature guys, real mature.” He stated before waiting until the rest headed off to do whatever and turning to Caroline once again. He snorted when she offered the getting drunk suggestion and looked around in a mock attempt to look eager before pouting in a mock pathetic way. "No alcohol allowed in the pool area. So that shoots that idea." He stated with a snap of his fingers. However sobered up (no pun intended) when she offered to head into the pool. Nodding he watched as she jumped in and tried to hide a gulp when she surfaced, the water glittering off her sun kissed body in a way that made him want to do many things that would not be 'friendly' to her. Jesus he was clearly showing his age today and unfortunately he wasn’t exactly proud of that.
Before he could jump in after her one of the girls walked over to him, her name escaped him but he thought it was something like Amber or Amy or something. He smiled a friendly, albeit awkward smile as she walked closer and whispered in his ear, though it was loud enough that he was sure Caroline and Brad, Amber or Amy's partner, could hear it. "If she doesn't want to join you in the deep end, I sure will handsome."
No lie, Matt felt dirty all of a sudden. Not that she was an unattractive girl because she was but that wasn’t something that he ever did. He had never slept with someone or really did anything other than the occasional kiss with someone that he wasn’t in a relationship with and he wasn’t about ready to start now. Not saying a word he simply jumped into the pool in order to calm the flame on his face and stayed under for a few seconds before heading to the surface and coming up for air, his abs showing in the sun with the water trickling over them. Yeah, he had been working out more, and it was obvious to anyone who looked at him.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - - - - - At his mock disappointment she couldn't help but laugh at him. It seemed that he wasn't really that mad at her anymore. It'd been about a week or so give or take so she hoped they'd be alright from here on out. Eventually they'd probably end up talking it out but today was not the day. While she'd originally been a bit weary of being teamed with him, she decided it'd be a good chance to talk. Or just pretend like it never happened and simply have fun. Which, seemed like the more likely option in this situation. Plus the whole Klaus situation already seemed to be forgotten with him. Good thing too, she didn't need other people overhearing that conversation. How awkward would that be? Next thing she knew, people would be making rumors about her and some old guy named "Klaus". Rumors were already out there about Dean, plus Matt, and her dating them at the both time. Totally wasn't true, but she wasn't going to deny it hardcore and look guilty.
"Damn. Alcohol makes everything better" she said with a giggle. God, why was she always resorting to alcohol? She was like Damon Junior over here sometimes. As she rose from the water she swore she could see his jaw drop the floor. She would have been lying to say that she didn't find it kind of hot that he was staring at her like that. Though she wouldn't act on anything because of Dean, attention from Matt wasn't exactly a bad thing. Though she knew she needed to be a bit less obvious about it.
Whilst waiting for him to join her, she took a moment to daze off into the amazingness that was his abs. That boy had definitely been working out lately, more so then ever, and surely everyone had to notice it. He'd always been fit but jesus..he'd never looked like that, not that she could remember. However she was brought out of her daydream by Amber walking over to Matt. Being a vampire she could hear the girl's words very clearly. Though Amber wasn't exactly quiet about it, and she would have been able to hear it regardless. Her eyes narrowed in on the girl and she gave her a glare, though the girl was busy looking at Matt like a damned piece of Italian sausage.
Much to her satisfaction, Matt completely ignored the girl and jumped into the water instead. She watched him carefully come to the surface, forcing herself to pull her eyes away from his body. Lowering her voice she looked at him, attempting to hide her possessiveness. "I wouldn't go for Amber if I were you, she's slept with nearly your entire team." With this she gave one last dirty look to Amber. That bitch. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - ::TAG:: Matthew "Matt" Gregory Donovan ::OUTFIT:: Click here for Caroline's outfit.::WORD COUNT:: 483 ::NOTES:: ----

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -Matt hid a smirk at Caroline’s comment about Amber. (Hey, at least he had been right about her name). He wouldn’t call any attention on the fact that Caroline was acting a bit too much like a jealous girlfriend instead of a concerned friend however he would admit internally at least that it made him feel a bit proud. He knew that he shouldn’t want the attention from someone else’s girlfriend…one that had apparently slept with the enemy (yes, he was still upset about that) but that didn’t mean that he didn’t. He was still in love with the girl and he definitely found her attractive…blame his teenage hormones for that one.
“Don’t worry, I’m not planning on it. I’ve heard way too much locker room talk about her if you must know.” He stated idly before continuing, not sure why the words that came next were actually allowed out of his mouth but not knowing well enough to stop them. “Besides I have my eye on someone else so no worries on that front.” Okay, so it wasn’t a complete lie. He did have his eye on someone else, she just wasn’t available. He wished he could still be with said person but unfortunately that ship had sailed so instead he was left alone.
Not that Caroline needed to know that he was talking about her.
Hearing one of his team mates call his name he turned around, seeing Paul and Trish coming towards them. Hey you two want to play chicken? Was the question asked and he turned to Caroline with a raised eyebrow. “What do you say? Think we can take them on?” He asked with a grin. Seeing her nod he grinned and shot her a wink before turning back to Paul. “You know you’re going down right?” He asked, throwing his arm over Caroline’s shoulder in a friendly manner. “Me and Care will take you two down.” He wasn’t the normal competitive type unless he got around his football buddies and then all bets were off.
“Get situated and then we’ll start.” He stated before turning back to Caroline. Diving down under the water he held his breath and waited for her to arrange himself on his shoulders, begging his lower region not to even mention the fact that her lower region was close to his head. Yeah, he definitely needed to get laid and soon if he was going to continue to torture himself like he was.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - - - - - Alright so she probably shouldn't have been so annoyed with Amber's actions. It wasn't her fault that she was a gigantic slut. Or rather it was, but it wasn't her fault that she'd come on to Matt. After all to the world he was a wide open target. Single, and having been so for a decently long time. And yes she felt guilty about being annoyed about it. She had Dean, and she shouldn't have even cared. However despite even knowing all of this...she cared. She knew she shouldn't, but she did, and she couldn't help it. A part of her would probably always feel possessive over Matt. Not only was he one of her better friends but she loved him. Whether or not that was past or present tense, she didn't want to admit to herself.
With a roll of her eyes, she waded in the water, kicking her legs to keep herself afloat. "That doesn't surprise me. She's been around the block more times than I can run around it" she said with a devious smirk. Which was a lot, because being a vampire Caroline could run that block a thousand times. At the mention of his eye being on someone, she couldn't help but allow a slight look of disappoint flood into her eyes. She'd known that it would happen eventually, she just wished she didn't have to hear about it. "Oh." And that was all she said for the moment. Her eyes drifted to the water in front of her, and her hands idly began to swish around in the water. It was a pathetic attempt to distract herself from the green eyed monster she felt coming to the surface.
Although she was slightly irritated she nodded that she would play chicken with him. Maybe it would help her to get her mind off of the fact that he was eyeing some slut. "Oh, I know. I'm champion of the Chicken Olympics" she said with what she considered a believable smile. As he went underneath the water, she slowly padded over to him and wrapped her legs around his shoulders. Having him that close to her lower region was... nerve wracking, but she tried her best not to think about it. As he lifted the both of them out of the water and into the air, she watched as the other team did the same. Looking over to Trish, she couldn't help but smirk. "Bring it on" she said, adjusting her legs to tighten around Matt's shoulders. She could have sworn she felt something else tighten, too... - - - - - - - - - - - - - - ::TAG:: Matthew "Matt" Gregory Donovan ::OUTFIT:: Click here for Caroline's outfit.::WORD COUNT:: 449 ::NOTES:: ----

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -Holding his breath under water was something that Matt had always been good at for some reason or another. He could remember when they were kids him and Vicki used to have contests to see who could hold their breath the longest and he always came out the winner. Which was the reason that even though Caroline was pretty quick at getting on his shoulders and settling herself there that he wasn’t even phased by staying under a bit longer just to get himself in check. He knew that she belonged to someone else and he had to deal with that, no matter how badly it bugged him that he wanted her to belong to him again.
Getting his head in the game he stood up slowly, his arms holding on to Caroline’s legs to help keep her on top of his shoulders. “You ready?” He asked all three of those involved in the game. He noted with a smirk that several other of the groups had come over to watch the two teams duke it out in a game of chicken. It was no secret that Paul and Matt were good friends yet they were pretty competitive against one another. It used to be the two of them and Tyler who were always duking it out to see who was the tougher competition but ever since Tyler had become a werewolf and then a hybrid things had been strained between them so at the moment it was just the two…er…four of them.
Walking over so he was close enough to where Caroline and Trish could reach one another he smirked at Paul. “You know damn well we’re going to win man, no contest.” He taunted though it turned into a glare when Paul taunted right back, though this time it was non verbal. It was a simply look at Caroline, then him, and a raise of his eyebrows. Oh yeah, for that he was going down. He was used to everyone else ribbing him about his night of not so secret sex with Caroline, but Paul had been one of the few who hadn’t said a word. Clearly all bets were off.
“1-2-3!” He counted off and they were off. He could feel Caroline pushing against Trish while she held her ground. He tightened his arms over her thighs in order to help keep her balanced as he moved with her in order to let her stay on top of his shoulders.
Oh yes, today was turning out much better than he had anticipated.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - - - - - Today might just be what Caroline and Matt needed to become friends again. They'd never really had a point to just be friends. It'd gone from acquaintances, right into a relationship soon after. However now it seemed like they might finally be able to hit that stage of friendship. Perhaps they'd even be better friends than when they were together. Although she didn't think people could get much closer than they'd been, she hoped they could. Not in the biblical sense though. Matt was someone who was loyal and could be just the kind of friend she needed right now. What with everything going on, she might end up needing to lean on him every now and then.
Easily keeping her balance she straightened her back to stand up straight on his shoulders. Trish seemed to be keeping her balance well too being that she was a cheerleader as well. And Paul? Well he seemed to be enjoying this a little too much. The grin on his face brightened the entire pool. With a roll of her eyes at Matt and Paul's competitive natures, she couldn't help but notice the look he gave Matt. It seemed that the two of them would never live that night between them down. Everyone was constantly bringing it up, making fun of them and what not. Some of her fellow cheerleaders had even made fun of her for it. She'd passed a few of them in the hall at school and they'd made obscene moaning noises. Some people would just never grow up...
As Matt counted off Caroline braced herself. Remembering to keep her strength in check, she held on as Matt padded over to Paul. Immediately both girls arms shot out at each other. They pushed at each other, Trish grabbing one of Caroline's hands. Tightening her legs around his shoulders she kept her place up there, though it was a tough one. Deciding that maybe the perks of her being a vampire should be just that; a perk, she decided to have a little bit of fun with it. Allowing Trish to take her other hand, she was at the girl's mercy. Trish tried and tried to push her off but Caroline held on strong. Wriggling on Matt's shoulders, she felt like she was nearly joking him with how tight her legs were squeezing against his neck. All of the sudden Caroline smirked and with one push, Trish fell back into the water, taking Paul with her. "He warned you guys that we'd win!" she exclaimed as the two of them brought their heads above water. Leaning over slightly she looked down to Matt, simply smiling.
So this is what friends feels like... - - - - - - - - - - - - - - ::TAG:: Matthew "Matt" Gregory Donovan ::OUTFIT:: Click here for Caroline's outfit.::WORD COUNT:: 465 ::NOTES:: ----

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -He could tell that Caroline was trying to keep herself in check with her strength, something that he was grateful for. Not only did she have to worry about hurting Trish, but she also had to make sure that she didn’t crush his bones underneath her. That he was overly concerned for himself since she always seemed to try and make sure that she didn’t hurt him (physically at least) but she was a bit concerned for Trish. However that didn’t mean he was surprised when it seemed like things went from almost losing to boom, winning, all in about thirteen seconds. He watched with amusement as Paul and Trish fell into the water and he couldn’t help but grin proudly when Caroline stated that he had been right away them winning.
“See, we make a damn good team.” He stated, however unfortunately he hadn’t know that one of his fellow football players, Scott, had been hind him and before he could even think to move he felt his back being pushed forward and down down him and Caroline both went.
Taking a deep breath before he hit the water he stayed under for a few moments before coming up, glaring at Scott who was beside himself laughing. “Maturity, look it up.” He stated with a groan before turning to Caroline, knowing that she would be okay but also knowing that he had to play the part of the dutiful friend. Not that he wasn’t a friend to her because he was, but he knew better than most that a little bit of water and being taken by surprise wasn’t going to hurt her. He did however want to help keep her cover so he swam over to her and looked her over, though his eyes were amused. “You okay Care?” He asked before shooting Scott a glare. “Sorry, some people seem to never want to grow up. Maybe we should enroll them in a Toys R Us commercial…after all the theme song seems to fit them perfectly.” He stated with a smirk.
Wiping the water from his eyes that had fallen from his hair he nodded to the water slide on the other side of the water park. “I’m going to head down a few slides, you coming with me or are we going to break the coaches rules already?” He asked, knowing that most likely she would come with him just to escape both his and her teammates.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - - - - - A devilish smile looked down to her teammate, happy that they'd been able to work so well together. Her lips parted as she went to speak to him but before she could even allow a syllable to leave them, she felt herself falling. Tumbling right off of Matt, she didn't have time to move herself out of his way. Landing directly on top of him they both crashed into the water. Thankfully she didn't need to breathe or else the wind would have been knocked right out of her. Their limbs got tangled up in one another's and when she'd finally fought free she pushed away from him in the water, the contact of their skin feeling too good, too familiar. After she'd swam several feet in the opposite direction of him she padded her way up to the top and plunged to the surface, pushing the hair out of her eyes.
Shaking her head she simply shot a glare to Scott, whom had pushed them over apparently as he was laughing his ass off. "Laugh it up Scott. You weren't laughing that hard when you got your ass kicked up and down the field last week" she spat at him, knowing he would be insecure about his performance last week. Scott had definitely taken a beating from their Richmond opponents last week, though thankfully the rest of the team had pulled through without him. A slight frown came across his face and she knew she'd won that battle.
Splashing noises in the water alerted her to the fact that Matt had made his way back over to her. Pushing the last strand of hair away from her face she couldn't help but laugh, thinking about how they'd been tangled up a moment ago. "I'm fine. Luckily for us Scott doesn't pack much into his tackles" she said, shooting him another glare from across the way. At his question she looked around briefly to all of their other teammates, deciding that she didn't exactly want to hang out with them all right now. "Slides, definitely" she said with a nod of her head.
With this they both paddled to the end of the pool with the stairs. She went first, glistening from the water. Once she was out she ran a hand through her wet locks and began heading over to the slides. Making sure Matt was behind her, she climbed the steps to the top and stood in line. There were only a couple people in front of them so she didn't think it would take too long. "Think Coach planned us together on purpose?" she asked with a laugh. Everyone had called them the Golden Couple when they'd been together, including his coach. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - ::TAG:: Matthew "Matt" Gregory Donovan ::OUTFIT:: Click here for Caroline's outfit.::WORD COUNT:: 483 ::NOTES:: ----

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -He let out a loud chuckle when Caroline commented on Scott getting his ass kicked up and down the field. That was one thing he loved about her, she was just as passionate about football as he was. Granted a lot of that had to do with the fact that she was a cheerleader so it was her job to know exactly what was going on with their team since if they looked back, she looked bad...but still, it was nice when they were together to not have a girlfriend constantly whining about being stuck dealing with sports all the time.
He had heard many conversations in the lock room, well, more complaints than actual conversations, about some of the other guys girlfriends. Sure they loved them, or at least they were a nice piece of ass as some of the guys would say, but it was annoying as hell to have to hear them whine all the time about either being dragged to the games or about never seeing their boyfriends on weekends since during football season they were always busy and most of them played other sports when it wasn't football season.
Then there was that tiny fact that he had never admitted out loud to anyone, but it was nice to have someone cheering him on. When he and Caroline were together she was at every game, even ones that they weren’t cheering at for one reason or another. It was nice to have someone there for him, since his sister was dead and his mother was pretty much useless as far as mothers went.
He realized after being lost in his thoughts that they had made their way to the slides and chuckled again, though this time it was because of how deep in thoughts he actually had been. It wasn't usually one to lose his train of thought like he had, though he was definitely more of a thinker than a talker. Hearing Caroline's question he laughed, shaking his head and shrugging at the same time. “I don’t think so. Coach knows that you dumped me quite a while ago.” He told her with a solemn face, wondering if she would realize he was joking or not.
Granted, Coach knew that they had broken up, but it was none of his business why. He could remember very clearly when he had come to him after hearing the news and telling him that their ‘high school drama better not affect the team or else his ass would be benched.’ Yes, their coach was really a people person.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - - - - - As they waited in line, Matt seemed pretty wrapped up in his own thoughts. She too took the time to contemplate what was happening right now. Were they really becoming friends? She couldn't help but want to be his friend, after having been one for years now. However she also couldn't help but feel a small tug in her heart whenever she was around him. Perhaps it was because he'd been her first true love. A girl never truly got over their first love. Or at least, she didn't think they did. Matt's first love had been Elena unfortunately, and this made her wonder if he was actually over her. But then again why should she care if he was? It wasn't as if they were going to be together again. She was with Dean now, and he...well, she was still a vampire.
Caroline honestly didn't even know if she should be here with Matt right now. If anything she should have at least told Dean that he was here. However by the time she'd realized it'd been too late. All she could hope was that he wouldn't be too upset with her. After their last fight...well, he wasn't too keen on the subject of her and Matt. And he shouldn't be, after what had happened in Richmond. Had they left all of that behind, or were they just fooling themselves by acting as if they were only friends? Everyone around them seemed to think that they'd get back together eventually, but she didn't see it happening. Too much had happened between them...and yet, there was that tug as she looked at him again. What in the hell was wrong with her?
Hearing his voice brought her out of her own thoughts, and she couldn't help but fake-glare at him. "I didn't dump you. If I remember correctly, you flipped and dumped me." More like rejected...But anyways, he definitely had the story wrong. Watching the last person in front of them go down the slide, they waited patiently until it was safe to go. When the guy gave her the go ahead, Matt, like the gentleman he is, offered for her to go first. With a grin she nodded, but didn't go. Instead she jumped behind him and pushed him down the damned slide. Teaches him to say I dumped him.. Once he started sliding down she jumped in behind him even though the instructor said only one person at a time. He yelled but she went down anyways, unable to possibly care any less. As she bound down the slide behind Matt she couldn't help but laugh at the fact that she'd pushed him. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - ::TAG:: Matthew "Matt" Gregory Donovan ::OUTFIT:: Click here for Caroline's outfit.::WORD COUNT:: 459 ::NOTES:: ----

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -Before he could say anything he felt himself being pushed down the slide. Before he could react he was down at the bottom underneath the water and he quickly pushed himself up in order to stop inhaling water. Oh yeah, she was definitely in for it. However before he could make a move there she was tumbling out of the slide, clearly going before the life guard had told her it was safe. Yeah, she was definitely having way too much fun with this. However before she could do anything he launched himself at her and quickly dunked her back under the water, grinning when she came back for air.
“Serves your ass right.” He told her playfully.
He rolled his eyes at her glare and nudged her gently with his shoulder. “I was just kidding.” He stated with a laugh. “The coach could honestly care less why we broke up, though he did hear it through the grapevine. I believe his exact words were something along the lines of keeping our soap opera away from the team or else my ass would be benched. Then he threw something in there about how I needed to stop dating cheerleaders and focus more on my game and who knows what else, I pretty much tuned him out after that.” He told her honestly.
Noting the glare up at the top from the life guard he quickly moved to the side of the pool and jumped out, not bothering to use the steps. The water glistened off of his athletic body and he noted with a small amount of amusement that two girls had stopped to look at him. He had never been a vain person but he would admit that after the past year and a half that it felt good to have someone admiring him.
It did take a toll on a guy to fall in love with two girls only to be left for supernatural crap, whether it be a vampire or because said girl turned into a vampire. Either way it did take a toll on his ego so a little prompting in that area definitely never hurt anyone.
Seeing a group of their team mates gathering towards the couches he nodded in their direction to Caroline. “Looks like we are switching teams…ready to get rid of me yet?” He asked, wondering honestly what her answer would be.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - - - - - Tumbling down the slide she plunged into the water below with a shriek. Although she'd known that the end of the slide was coming, it'd been so dark that even she couldn't tell where it ended and it'd taken her by slight surprise. Raising herself out of the water she was immediately pushed back down by a surprise attack. As she pulled herself back out of the water she playfully punched him in the shoulder. She made it as girly as possible, almost like a fly had run into him, as to not freak him out. Matt liked to be the macho manly man and she wasn't going to take that away from him. At his comment she simply stuck her tongue out at him and sent some water his way.
The lifeguard looked down at her as if she was the devil and she rolled her eyes, before following Matt out of the pool. As they jumped out she pulled herself up to a standing position and..adjusted her bathing suit. She'd been covered, though barely, and nearly had a wardrobe malfunction due to the slide. Hoping that no one had noticed she gently nudged him back on the shoulder. "Soap opera? I don't know if I should be offended or thankful. But..do you remember the day we broke up? I swear to god, I had about fifty messages on my Facebook. People really need to get lives" she said with a small laugh. People had been really concerned about the 'Golden Couple'. Some of them had actually been guys hitting on her too now that she was single, but she'd ignored them. Did guys really think she'd be back on the market in the same day? How classy, men of Mystic Falls...
As a couple of girls stopped just to drool at Matt, she couldn't help but roll her eyes. If she didn't stop doing that they were going to get stuck like that one day. "Keep moving" she told them, catching both of their eyes at once and compelling them to keep on their way. The compulsion may have pissed off Matt, or freaked him out, or both, but she didn't care. Those girls were pathetic and annoying as hell. Knowing that they would soon have other teammates she couldn't help but let her eyes fall in disappointment. Hoping that he hadn't caught it, she laughed. "God, yes. I've had enough of you for one day, Matt Donovan" she said with a laugh, before heading over to the rest of the group. She however couldn't help but be disappointed that their time together was over so quickly. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - ::TAG:: Matthew "Matt" Gregory Donovan ::OUTFIT:: Click here for Caroline's outfit.::WORD COUNT:: 457 ::NOTES:: ----
