[ Still standing against the door frame he found himself feeling more awkward by the second. At the mention of his baby sister he simply looked down at his mug of blood. Just mentioning her seemed to drag his mood down even further than from where it'd already been, which was pretty low. Imagining that he'd hurt her, when it could have been avoided, killed him. However in the long run he supposed she would have been hurt either way. He knew he should have told her but he didn't think he would be seeing Connor this soon. In all reality he thought he'd have the chance to prep for that conversation first and to get ready for it. To sit her down and explain anything and let her ask him questions. Instead...well it was just kind of like a slap to her face, and he felt ashamed of himself. Offically having ruined everyone's night he wasn't sure how this "Harry Potter" movie would make things better. This group was so strange...
I'll get my snake on...
At hearing this his eyebrows raised, brought out of his thoughts. At first he wanted to step in and ask why he was going to get his snake on with Willow. It was only a few moments before he realized it had something to do with this damned movie. He really needed to get up to date on today's pop culture. Before he could ask to be filled in Buffy spoke and he looked up to meet her eyes. Previously, his eyes had been in his mug. "No thank you, I'm fine with blood" he told her simply. Angel rarely drank and when he had in the past it hadn't gone so well. He could distinctly remember sitting in a bar, completely hammered, talking about Buffy's hair. How shiny it was, how good it smelled, how he missed it...yeah he hadn't been much of a drinker since then. It'd definitely been an experience but not one that he would care to repeat.
Eyebrows raised, and he tilted his head to the side slightly. "Harry who? I have to watch it? Can't I just..." he began, but saw her threatening look. Damn, looked like he'd be watching this wretched movie sooner rather than later. He wished he could get out of it and go downstairs and read a book but it didn't look like Buffy was going to allow that. It wasn't like he was whipped...except he kind of was, on some things. He'd let her win this battle as it was a silly one but most of the time he stood his ground with her. With a sigh he nodded, and then turned around to head back towards the kitchen. "Guess I'll top off my glass..." he murmured, entering the kitchen. Pouring more blood into the glass he dropped the empty container into the garbage and popped it into the microwave. When it was finished he entered back into the living room and went all the way to the other end. Sitting on the lonely chair beside the couch, he raised his glass to his lips and took a long sip.
With a solemn nod, he watched Buffy pull out her phone and type up a message. It was amazing how much quicker she was than he. It seemed to take him an hour. Within a half hour the door was opened and Katheryn walked in. His eyes slowly raised to watch her enter and sit between Buffy and Willow. Hearing her declamation he simply looked at her and blinked. It took him a moment before he could gather the ability to speak. "If that's what you want..." he said, leaving the option up to anyone else. His eyes locked onto his sister. "Whenever you want to talk...I'm here, and more than willing" he said softly, still feeling terrible about the whole ordeal. Hopefully she'd want to talk now and he could get out of watching this damned Harry Potter fellow...

A comfortable playfulness seemed to fall over the group of them, and Connor felt himself let out a breath he wasn't sure he was holding. While only a fool would think nothing was wrong, they were at least treading water with their heads above water. The teasing banter between him and Buffy was a lifeline, and he couldn't keep the timid yet goofily crooked smile off his lips. They were going to be okay, at least the four of them. It would take time and work, but nothing truly worth it ever didn't. Once the drinks arrived, Connor plucked a cup off the table before pouring himself some plain orange juice. While the idea of another glass of brown pop was tempting, between carbonation and nerves, he decided against the sugary siren song and go for some comforting o.j. with surprisingly sure and steady hands.
"In my defense, I have yet to rise up and become the Dark Lord, missy. I'm tragic and still far from a Dr. 90210 hackjob worthy snout." Willow was being positively well, Willow, and Connor could feel another soft smile pulling at his lips. She was a fierce little protector, that redhead. Someone that his younger self would have mistakenly overlooked due to her overall nature. But there was something about the petite witch that would constantly keep surprising him, and Connor was more than happy to go along for the ride. Angel kept remarkable people close to him, as if there was ever a doubt.
And with the thought towards him father, Connor could feel how closed off the elder vampire was becoming. Whether it was the situation alone or the talk of things of wizarding goodness, Angel was simply disengaging. And if anyone had a chance to pull him back, hopefully it would be the Slayer. Resolving to let his father brood, Connor felt the air of the room shift back to slight trepidation as Kathy returned. As she sat down between Willow and Buffy, Connor once more couldn't help but be shocked at how much she looked like his little sister. While far from twins they could easily pass for family, and idly he cast a thought towards Cyrus Vail. Did he chose the Reillys on purpose? Because of their physicality? Or was there something else that made them his Perfect Lie?
Resolving to think on it later, Connor was all ears for his aunt. But that word stuck in his ears wrong, and Connor internally frowned. While it was true, it didn't seem right; not now and maybe not ever. She was Kathy, and definitely kin. But it seemed more fitting to allow the pair of them to figure out their standing later and leave awkward and possibly ill-fitting titles to the birds. He nodded at her words, once more floored at the level of maturity coupled with adolescent softness. The dichotomy of her was brilliant, and Connor prayed to whatever god cared for demon born bastard children that the pair could find some way to know and care for one another. Not just because she was family, though that held a huge weight in his heart. But she was also just too damned interesting to slip away.
At her offer, Connor was once more stunned. Blinking and nodding once, he smiled softly as his voice took on a light and gentle rumbling cadence. "I really appreciate that Kathy. To be honest, no one's ever offered me their bed before. Thank you." With that bit off his chest, he had to try, he had to throw caution to the wind and if it bit him in the ass, so be it. She was worth the attempt. Their family was worth the attempt. "We were thinking about trying to salvage the movie night, if you wanted to. I'm a closet fan. And since as a stupid smelly older brother I'm usually decked in silver and green, we could really use a Lion to keep me in line. What do you think?"
When he leaned forward to speak to her, only a few inches, he let his eyes fill with everything he had been feeling. As the emotions spread over his face, Connor waited on baited breath. Apologies, Compassion, Understanding, Hope, a touch of Fear, even a bit of Understanding in Self-Loathing. Laying it all bare, he hoped against hope it would be enough.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -She laughed at the red heads comment about not throwing things. "Well I can't promise that I won't throw things, you know how I get when there's no chocolate sprinkles left to put on my ice cream." She mumbled, laughing a bit, though the tension was still clear in her voice. She knew that they needed to talk but she didn't want to continue this conversation here. She needed to put this behind them, at least for the moment, or else she would obsess over it and this was definitely not the time, the place, or the group to do that in.
She knew she had to talk to everyone individually eventually, though about different things. Willow she needed to talk to about withholding information from her. She wasn’t a fan of lying and in her opinion withholding information was just as bad as lying, especially information like this. She needed to talk to Kathy to figure out if she was alright and to explain everything if she wouldn’t talk to Angel. She could see where the young girl was coming from but she also felt as if she was over reacting a tiny bit, though she had no idea if she would have over reacted in the same situation or not. As for Connor, she needed to pull him aside later and apologize once again for not telling him who she really was. Granted she knew that it wasn’t an apology that necessarily had to be given as she hadn’t known who he was or else she would have told him her real name, but she felt like she should at least clear the air.
He was after all Angel’s son.
She rolled her eyes at Angel’s question about Harry who. “Yes, you do have to watch it. Indulge me please.” She asked, though there was an underlying look in her eyes as she stared at him that clearly told him that this was the best course of action for when Kathy got home. They needed to do something that they all liked (well, all of them except Angel but then again he was a picky man) in order to help get over this hump so he would just have to deal with it.
It didn't take long for Kathy to walk in which meant that they hadn't gone that far. This didn't surprise her as AJ knew her well enough to know that she didn't like to let things fester over a long period of time and if there was any chance of her resolving this tonight she would have. She smiled softly as the young girl sat between her and Willow and she wrapped her arm around her, giving her a silent squeeze before releasing her, waiting for her to talk. She nodded once when Kathy requested, well, demanded that she was stealing her bed. "I'll find some place to sleep, no worries. I'll probably just steal a side of you're brothers bed." She stated, smiling though inside she wondered if that was such a good idea. They needed to talk before they could move on but she felt like setting an example for Kathy was the better thing to do now.
A sense of pride filled the blonde as she heard Kathy offer her bed to Connor, in which she couldn't help but let out a smile. She knew that it must be painful to even look at Connor at the moment and yet here she was, showing maturity that truly showed that she wasn't the eleven year old that she looked like, she was truly an adult in every sense of the word...and again, pride filled her in a way that she didn't truly understand. “I think that sounds like a reasonable plan.” She stated, and smiled when Connor started speaking. She laughed quietly as Connor mentioned being an older brother and decking himself out in green. “What do you say? Do you want to watch or postpone it? It’s up to you and no one is going to be mad no matter what you decide.” She told her softly, knowing that everyone around them could hear them (Angel and Connor with their enhanced senses and Willow since she was right next to Kathy) but she figured talking quietly would at least give Kathy a sense of privacy since it was almost impossible to get any in this house.

The witch couldn't wait till when Buffy and her will get to have a chat about everything. It will be nice to bring what needs to be talked about to the table. Plus all this talk about Ice cream was really making her want one. "Yeah buff i know how you get without your sprinkles. Don't worry we will make sure that we have plenty so that wont have to happen. Deal?" She said giggling with her.
Willow sat there next to Buffy waiting to see were this night was going to go, because so far it had not really gone anywhere but fighting. Well expect for the fact they were all drinking something of some sort, but the tension was killing Willow. It was good thing that Connor had something funny to say, other wise she would have no reason smile right now. He was cracking her up with some of the things he was saying. “No that didn’t come out right at all but I get what you meant.” She said giggling, referring to his snake joke. Usually Willow would be the one to bring up the room and not able to keep her mouth shut, but after all that was said with her and Angel fighting she really didn’t have much to say. She was pretty much ready for this night to be done and over, but it was all going to depend on what little Kathy wanted.
It seemed as though the little vamp had came back to join them, it seemed like she had calmed down a bit which was good but then again she had not said much. Willow watched as Kathy sat right between her and Buffy, she waited to see what she was going to want to do. Willow hoped she was going to want to go to bed, other wise this whole night was going to be awkward. That is in less Angel left, which she was pretty sure wasn’t going to happen. Kathy had told them that she wanted to go to bed, which Willow pretty knew that was going to happen, to much had really gone on into this night. “Kathy sweetie Buffy can bunk with me if she wants, you just get some rest. And if you don’t want to do movie night, we can do again sometime real soon but just us girls.” She said giving the little vamp a smile. “I’m game for whatever you want.”
Willow all ready knew what she was doing if Kathy was done with this night, she was going straight up stairs to get some rest. She was going to put on her Pjs on and jump right into bed with her baby, Tara was all ready in bed asleep. She had not been feeling well earlier that day so she got a head start on sleep, which right now was so were this witch wanted to be. There in bed holding here baby tightly in her arms. Right now that sounded like pure heaven, A heaven that she never wanted to leave from. Willow sat there stretching her arms back yawning real big, trying to show that she was pretty much tired as well. “excuse me, I don’t know why but I have just got so tired all the sudden, I really need to be getting more sleep.” Willow sat there waiting to see what was going to happen.

atheryn 'Kathy' Anne O'Connor bit her lip. She yawned another small yawn, this one making her sound like a small child rather than the adult that she had seemed like the past few moments. It was heightened when she took a small fist and rubbed her eye, trying to fight the urge to curl up into a ball and go to sleep. She had always looked younger when she slept but at the moment, being as exhausted as she was because of the emotional evening, she truly looked and felt like she was a tiny child rather than a two hundred plus year old vampire. She wasn’t sure which she preferred to be honest. Kathy nodded when she heard her brother’s offer to talk when she was ready, though she had absolutely no idea when she would take him up on that offer. She loved her older brother, but at the moment she didn’t feel like she could trust him. Whether he lied to her or not, he hadn’t told her, and that hurt. She knew that she needed to get to the bottom of her issue with this but she had no desire to do it now. Hearing Connor’s question she started for a moment, not really sure how to answer it. She knew that she really had no desire to spend any more time in the living room at the moment, wanting to go to bed and simply let herself be for the rest of the evening, buts he didn’t want to be rude. Thankfully Buffy gave her an out by saying that no one would be mad at her if she chose to go to bed. “As much as I would love to see everyone decked out in Harry Potter memorabilia, I’m afraid that I wouldn’t appreciate it as much in the mood that I’m in. I think it’s probably better for everyone if I go to bed.” She answered softly, her eyes trained on the floor, not wanting anyone to be upset with her. “So rain check?” She asked, though she made no move to look at anyone. “Night.” She whispered before standing and turning her back on everyone, not liking the feeling that she was failing everyone but not knowing how to change it. She simply stood up and walked straight to the stairs that led to the basement, pulling out a pair of pajamas before taking the same stairs back upstairs, though not stopping in the living room, instead walking up the next flight of stairs towards Buffy’s room where she could be alone. She prayed she found sleep easily that night. Word Count: 457! Tag: Lots of People! Outfit: Outfit---- Click to see Kathy’s Outfit! Note: And Kathy is out! Completely solitary, Angel remained in the chair across from all of them. It seemed so fitting for him to be left out of the group. His baby sister was absolutely heartbroken and furious with him all at the same time. His son was hurt, and probably mad as well because of the comments about Darla. Willow and him had gotten into it and he'd given her back some of her own medicine. Usually he refrained from getting into it with anyone (other than Spike) but this time he hadn't been able to help it. It seemed that everything had all come at him at once and in a way he'd taken it out on her. While he didn't think anything was wrong between him and the slayer, he understood their distance. After all this was the first time she'd met his son. She put on a brave face and did seem to be enjoying herself, but a part of him felt as if she were still hurt by the idea as a whole of him having a child without her. So he remained solitary.
Slowly he raised his glass to his lips again, savoring the warm blood making it's way down his throat. His eyes lifted to the slayer just as he licked his lips and lowered the glass again. When she told him to indulge her he simply blinked. When didn't he? Although thinking about it he realized he didn't always, and hadn't always. Nonetheless his eyes then drifted on to Connor. There was a glow in his eyes that Angel hadn't seen in a very long time. It was warmth, radiating out from his son and he would have been lying if he'd said it didn't make him ecstatic. Seeing his son happy after all he'd been through was simply astounding.
Next his eyes kept on floating down to Katheryn, who simply nodded her head to him instead of replying. He figured it was better than nothing and simply nodded agreeably as well in return. Deep down he knew that if they didn't talk sooner rather than later that he would go insane. However he would try his best to give her time to digest everything that had happened. After all, she deserved nothing more than time to think about it. If his heart could flutter, it surely would have when Katheryn offered her bed to Connor. It was such a small gesture and yet gigantic at the same time. Connor stood for betrayal in the eyes of the girl, and yet she still extended her welcome to him. Perhaps he could learn a thing or two from his sibling.
At Katheryn announcing she was too tired and they should all postpone their movie night, he couldn't help but internally sigh of relief. Dodged that bullet... When she stood up and began to head out of the room, he stood up behind her. "Goodnight, Katheryn" he murmured, just quiet enough where she could hear it. She was probably the only one who could as he'd been quieter than a mouse and his lips had barely even parted. With a defeated sigh, he turned on his heel and looked to his son. "I'll show you to your room" he told the boy, waiting for him to stand and join him. While he waited he went into the kitchen and quickly downed the rest of his mug. Which was kind of a lot, but he needed it. Setting the glass into the sink he rinsed it and left it there. It looked pretty clean as he'd gotten most of the blood out of it, but he'd scrub it later.
Heading back into the kitchen, he simply nodded to Willow. "Buffy, if you want to sleep with me..you can." His eyes remained fixed on her for a moment. Almost as if pleading with her. He needed her tonight, he was beyond mentally and emotionally exhausted. She would comfort him, even if it was only her sleeping beside him. With this he turned once again and began to head down the stairs with Connor in tow. Or at least he thought, he hadn't looked back to check. He was simply thankful that tonight's drama was over.

As everyone started to say their goodnights, Connor felt the weariness start to fill his own bones. Now that he was slowing down and the excitement was settled into an even beat, Connor practically watched the tension flow off of him. Exhaustion was always something that hit him hard, the worst after any emotional turmoil. Stifling a small yawn with his hand, Connor felt his eyes start to tear up a little bit. It seemed like one by one they all hit that point where very little was going to get done tonight, though Connor made sure to nod along with Buffy's comment about no one being mad no matter the choice.
Blinking past the sleep, he finished off his orange juice grateful to the cool liquid for giving hi a temporary boost of energy. He still couldn't believe how strong Kathy was being, and even chanced giving her a crooked half-smile. A sign of his encouragement and an attempt at disarming honesty. It worked for him in the past, it was worth a shot now. "Raincheck." While she breezed in and out to get comfortable for bed, Connor felt himself try to look nonchalant as opposed to follow her every movement with his eyes. He really wanted to get to know her, apologize to her, ease the screw ups of the day with her; but patience was a virtue and Morpheus was beginning to win over all of them.
When Angel mentioned showing him to his room, Connor nodded and stood. But while his father ducked into the kitchen, Connor quickly ducked out to his car. Grabbing the bag in the back as fast as he could, he gave Willow a sympathetic smile and wave good night before coming to a sudden stop at his father's right just outside of the vampire's peripherals. When things got complicated, it had more to do with his father's relationship with the Slayer than anything else. Paying attention to the wood grain of the door ways, the pattern on the ceiling, the design on the carpet; Connor waited 'distracted'. The moment was awkward at best, though he fell into step behind the vampire as soon as he began to move to the bedroom.
Giving his father a small nod, he hefted the military issue duffel high on his shoulder before slipping into Kathy's room once it was pointed out to him. With one last "Night everyone… Sleep well…" lightly called through the door as he moved to close it gently behind him.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -She knew as soon as Kathy had walked in that she wasn't going to be staying for that long before retiring in some room, though she'll admit she hadn't anticipated it being her room. She didn't mind in the least though as it's not like she wouldn't find someplace else to sleep. If she really had to she could always drive the ten miles to the apartment that no vampire except for Kathy herself could get into and sleep there, though she doubted she would need to do that. She was right as Willow offered her bed to her and Kathy had offered for her to share with her. Either way she would find some place to sleep.
Watching the young girl trudge down the stairs and then back up she then turned her attention back to the O’Connor boys…well…she had no idea if Connor’s last name was O’Connor (she doubted it as Connor O’Connor would be slightly odd) but that was what they were whether that was his name or not. She smiled a sad smile as she watched Angel offer to show Connor to his room, a pang hit her in her chest as she realized that this was his flesh and blood in a way that she could never provide him and at one point she had to look away, not being able to watch any longer. Once the two had distended the stairs she turned to Willow. “I’ll probably head out and do a quick patrol before coming back and falling asleep on the couch.” She told her, not wanting to admit that she honestly might go to her apartment just to get away from everything. Once Willow was out of ear shot she headed to the kitchen, picking up the mug that Angel had washed out and scrubbed it for a few moments, not caring in the least if it was a bit OCD as the mug was already fairly clean.
She had learned back in Sunnydale that if girls saw blood in a mug they’d freak out and go insane and she just really couldn’t handle a freak out tonight. She wasn’t in the right mind set to deal with crazy girls going postal…she could guarantee she wouldn’t be the most patient person in the world and she didn’t want anyone to see her lose it, especially over something like that.
After a few more minutes of methodically scrubbing the mug she set it in the dishwasher, realizing a bit belatedly that scrubbing it had been fairly pointless as it was going in the dishwasher, but oh well, it gave her something to do for ten minutes or so. Walking into the living room she looked at the door almost longingly, wanting nothing more than to go and do a patrol, but her body was exhausted and she knew that there was no way she would be able to walk to the cemetery, let alone fight anything. Instead she headed downstairs, noting Kathy’s door was shut which meant Connor was most likely at least pretending to sleep and Angel’s was wide open. She thought about walking in and telling him goodnight and then heading back upstairs, but declined that offer.
She could tell by the look Angel had given her when he offered his bed that he needed her tonight so she would put aside her selfish thoughts and be there for him. Walking inside she didn’t even bother to change clothes, simply turning off the light that he had left on for her and sliding into bed next to him. She would usually move so that her head was on his chest but she didn’t tonight, simply laid on her stomach and put her hand under her pillow. If he needed her she was there, but she would let him make the move as it was him that needed the comfort.
Or at least he was the one who was willing to take it…she however refused to let the tears fall that desperately wanted to. It was bound to be a sleepless night.
