atheryn 'Kathy' Anne O'Connor pouted. Alright, so she knew that she said it a lot, but being 11 for eternity sucked. It was so incredibly boring at all times. She had to be careful where she went and when. She couldn’t believe that it had been over 200 years and she was still searching for her stupid big brother. Okay, so he wasn’t stupid…but it was still a huge pain! Where the hell was he?! She pouted once again before heaving a sigh and standing up beside her hotel bed. It was almost dusk so she knew she needed to get ready if she wanted to spend all her time that she had outside. She headed to the shower, quickly using her favorite shampoo which was surprisingly a cheap brand from Wal-Mart. It made her hair smell like vanilla which she loved and it made her hair behave (which was next to impossible being that she had curly locks and a lot of them) and her hair soft…something she was glad about. Her body wash, her soap, and her shaving cream all matched her shampoo being that they all smelled like vanilla. It was something she had been used to over the years so she bought it all out of habit. Once done she dried and styled her hair, not really having to do much other than it and put some mousse in it. She was fairly low maintenance as a girl but she still liked to look at least semi decent. It also helped to tell those who tried to come near her that she was older when she at least looked the part. 16 year old girls rarely left the house without makeup or hair care product in their hair and she usually posed as a 16 or 18 year old depending on where she was and who asked. She looked through her small closet that was positively stuffed with clothes. She could afford to rent an apartment or something along those lines, but she really didn’t feel the need to. She didn’t know how long she would be in this small town for and didn’t want to bother with it. She missed having her own place but with searching for her brother all these years it was hard to settle down in one place, though she had done it a few times when the thought of traveling alone to another state got too overwhelming. She flicked the clothing she had through her closet, trying to settle on something she wanted to wear. She looked at her face in the mirror that hung on one of the closet doors and decided to for once in a blue moon go with her real age. She’d deal with the consequences if that came down to it and forewent the makeup and picked out a Hello Kitty shirt, a pair of Hello Kitty flip-flops and a pair of flare jeans. She quickly changed and checked herself out in the mirror before grinning. She looked like the true 11 year old she was versus 16 or 18. The young brunette quickly put on a Hello Kitty necklace and grabbed her cell phone, her keys and shut the door behind her, heading out into the night. She headed towards the woods, not really sure where she was going but figured a nice long walk would help her clear her thoughts and attempt to get herself back on the right track. So she simply walked, not really sure what she would find. Word Count-602 Tag- Open Outfit- Click here---To View Kathy’s Outfit Note- Open [/blockquote][/blockquote] - - - - - - - - - - -

Recently bleached hair. Leather coat. Black fingernails. Heavy boots. He didn’t know why he felt like it again, but Spike was sliding back into his punk roots. Perhaps it was a sort of comfort thing, like returning home in a time of stress, which Spike and his loved ones certainly had right now. Really, it didn’t matter what was happening, there was always stress when it came to the Slayer gang. One type of drama or another worked its way through its ranks and Spike, unfortunately, was a likely punching bag. And the way that Spike dealt with his stress was to run from it and distract himself with something else. At heart, the blonde vampire was a hedonist. Getting a soul hadn’t really changed that. Normally, he might have tried to find a club to drink at but tonight just seemed like a walking night. Probably because Spike felt like if he saw another person’s face, he would punch it. And that’s why Spike was in the middle of a forest, half-leaning on some kind of old growth tree. Forests weren’t typically his thing, but alleyways and cemeteries could only hold his interest for so long. Out here, there was much more of a true sense of quietness. It brought him back to an earlier time before urbanization had taken over everything. His fingers itched to have the warmth of a cigarette in between them, but he ignored the urge, distracted by something. It was hard to say if Spike heard her or saw her first, but coming into his line of sight was a young girl, dressed more like she was going to the mall than a hiking trip. Spike’s first inclination was to stay out of the way, light a cigarette and ignore the child. A stranger dressed all in black appearing in the middle of nowhere would probably scare the bit half to death. Then again, there could be worse things than him out at this time of night. He struggled with it for a moment before conceding to himself that the right thing to do would be to send the girl home. He followed her with relative ease, reaching the path that she was walking on within moments of seeing her. In a few more strides, Spike was right behind her. ”What’s a little thing like you doing in the woods?” Spike stared down at the petite girl. She didn’t look a day over twelve, and, not that he kept a real close eye on the things pre-teen girls did, Spike didn’t understand why she would be walking alone at night, ”Aren’t you afraid something could eat you out here?”But then again, this was a little vampire he was talking to. Now that he was close enough, he could sense it, just as she could probably sense he was a vampire as well. Well, still, usually children vampires had a nest that they belonged to. Even if they were vampires, they still were young and had people that cared for them. But Spike continued his questions in accordance to his discovery, ”Or are you looking for someone to eat?” +++ TAGS: Katheryn WORD COUNT: 525 NOTES: I hope that it’s okay for Spike to show up before Katheryn finds Angel. atheryn 'Kathy' Anne O'Connor despised the dark. She hated night time. It had become extremely dull over the last few centuries. It was always dark out…and she had been a child who thrived in the light. She had always risen when the sun was barely over the horizon and didn’t come inside again until it had settled down for the night. Her brother used to always tease her that she was trying to make her face darker with the amount of freckles she got, especially in the summer time, because she had always been one to be outside for as long as she could. She couldn’t help it though. Everything was beautiful during the day. The sun shining out on the water, the small breeze you’d get on a warm day in the late spring. The way that you could see your shadow because of the sun. It had always been a favorite past time of hers, simply laying around in the front yard in the sun…and now…it was impossible. She hated it, because the night time made her feel even more alone. If she were able to be out in the sun maybe she could find friends, or at least walk amongst those who wouldn’t know she was stuck at an age that allowed very little in her life. Unfortunately though, she could not…so she took what she could get. She used to love the night as well though when she was human. The evening and night time were a different type of beautiful. Everything was dark and mysterious. The world was a different place at night, and it had always fascinated her as a human child. Not anymore. She knew better now. She knew what was out at night, because she was one of those things that was out. She knew how dark and scary the world could be, because she had seen it. She had barely escaped several attacks because of her age and the fact that she had been out by herself late at night. She hated it…and what was worse, she hated being alone in it. Even as a human, she had been scared of the dark before bed. She loved looking at the night time but never wanted to close her eyes during it. The only advantage about her situation was that she didn’t have to sleep during the night; she was able to sleep when it was light out. However, being out in the night was even worse sometimes. She wished she had her brother’s hand to hold like she used too when she was a human…but again, she hadn’t found him. Her ears almost perked up as she heard a noise and for a moment she wanted to run away…unfortunately before she could make that decision a blonde man stepped into the clearing of the woods. She tensed, knowing that he was a vampire. Vampires gave off an energy to other vampires that they could recognize…but his scared her. He was old, he was strong, and yet he seemed…different than most. She couldn’t describe it…but it was there. His voice had a British accent to it, one that at any other time would have made her smile. She loved accents. She shook her head at his question. “I don’t eat people.” She told him quietly, hoping he wouldn’t try to hurt her. “Just decided to take a walk.” She whispered, wishing she could run. She truly hated being afraid of everything. Word Count-606 Tag- SPIKE!!! Outfit- Click here---To View Kathy’s Outfit Note- I adore Spike! Just as he had expected, the little vampire seemed pretty terrified of Spike. Even if she was a vampire, she was still a young girl. She would probably know full well, probably much better than a human girl, what Spike was capable of. He was trying to look the least intimidating he could look, given that he was decked out pretty heavily in punk attire. If he was any closer to looking the part, he would have safety pins in his shirt. But he was keeping a few feet in between himself and the girl, let his shoulders relax and tucked his hands into his duster pockets. Hopefully she wouldn’t just turn tail and run. If she did, hopefully it would be out of the woods and back to where she was safe. In response to him asking if she was looking to eat someone, the small vampire replied that she didn’t eat people. That was interesting. Either she was being taken care of by some human in the know or.. it could be possible that she wasn’t just some run of the mill vampire? Spike scrutinized the girl with a steady eye, concentrating, trying to seek out what he had always felt as a bright pinpoint of energy that hid among the dominant vampire aura. And there it was. Like a little ball of light nestled away in there. ”You have a soul, don’t you?” Spike gave a soft little grin, as if he was pleased with himself for solving a puzzle. Her having a soul made a lot more sense that her having restraint. Adult vampires had little of that, so Spike could guess children vampires would be even worse. He also couldn’t tell how old she was, but it felt like she had been around a while. His thoughts soon faded away with a little shrug from the blond vampire, ”Well, welcome to the straight and sober club, love. Good to have you with us.”He wondered if the little thing in front of him could sense his soul. She hadn’t said anything, but vampires did seem to know the difference in who had a soul or not. Maybe now that he had mentioned her having a soul, it would click in the kid’s mind that Spike had one as well. ”This makes that prophecy a bit more complicated then,” Spike mused under his breath. He didn’t suppose that a child was really going to become a champion, but he couldn’t really think of someone more deserving to become human again than a little girl. He supposed that Angel would feel the same way too, even though they had nearly fought each other to the death for that opportunity to be the one to fulfill the Shanshu prophecy. Wouldn’t that be funny, if all of their rivalry ended up being completely pointless because of some little girl vampire? ”But really, woods aren’t really ideal for us to traipse around in. Loads of pointy little sticks that could end up anywhere,” He poked at his own chest, revealing his true meaning. Spike tilted his head a bit before asking, ”Don’t you have anyone looking after you? You know, making sure you don’t do stupid things like this?”+++ TAGS: Katheryn WORD COUNT: 539 NOTES: Spike and Kathy, total BFFs. XD

atheryn 'Kathy' Anne O'Connor was confused. It was strange and scary for her to be in the presence of this blonde vampire. He gave off an air of determination yet one that for some reason didn’t scare her. Sure she was scared of him as a vampire because she knew that being how young she was in human years that he could easily over take her…not that it was a large feat to do so but still. Yet for some reason he as a person didn’t scare her. It wasn’t easy to explain but she knew what she meant and that was all that mattered. She was surprised when he asked if she had a soul, but nodded, her brunette curls bouncing as she did. She felt even younger than usual in the attire that she wore. For once she cursed the fact that she was addicted to Hello Kitty, knowing it made her look younger and weaker. She donned a typical outfit for her, a gray babydoll tshirt with Property of The Athletic Department and Hello Kitty on the front, a pair of flare jeans, Hello Kitty flip flops and a Hello Kitty necklace. Her hair was down though it had a headband that was shockingly Hello Kitty as well. Her brown curls framed her face yet fell past her shoulders, giving her an innocent appearance that her being itself took away from. “Yes, I do.” She stated in a small voice, her phone resting in her back pocket gave her little comfort. She was alone, had been for over two hundred years, and would be alone until she found her brother once more. She hated being alone, but hated getting attached to people to watch them die even more. No, it was better this way. Not many vampires out there were like herself and they treated the world as their personal fast food restaurant and that was not how she wanted to live, so instead she survived by herself. Kathy couldn’t help but giggle a bit when Spike spoke. She loved his accent. She loved all accents. She had lost hers over time, though whenever she got excited or angry her Irish brogue still sometimes sounded through her lips, unconsciously at best. She missed it but knew that not having an accent helped her blend in with her surroundings. “Happy to be here?” She stated, though it was clearly more of a question. She heard him mutter under his breath about a prophecy but didn’t comment on it, knowing that she clearly wasn’t supposed to have heard him. “I’m…I’m Kathy by the way.” She introduced herself, remembering her brother’s lessons on manners even if he didn’t employ them himself. “And no, I’m alone.” She told him, shaking her head. “I’ve been alone for over 200 hundred years.” She informed the blonde vampire. She took a deep breath, trying to calm herself, and her eyes widened. “You have a soul too don’t you?” She asked him, her eyes alight with something that couldn’t be deciphered in the dark…but it was clear she was happy about this prospect. Spike could tell that the little vampire was beginning to relax a bit. This was not too surprising, since she probably knew that if he wanted to do something bad, Spike would have done it by now. When she confirmed she had a soul, Spike gave himself a little mental pat on the back. For some reason, knowing that this little girl wasn’t a terror of the night he didn’t have to stake was a relief. Spike didn’t think he would have it in him to kill a child, even if it was supposedly evil. ”Be happy,” Spike affirmed the young girl’s confused statement on having a soul. It was cute though, that she was playing along with his metaphors and such. It was always frustrating when certain people shut down Spike’s style. He elaborated on what he meant, ”Means you’re special.””Hoh,” The blond vampire tossed his head with a laugh when the girl said how long she’d been out on her own. Two hundred years? God, that must have been rough on her. What had she been doing all that time? How in the world had she survived on her own? He looked back to Kathy, with his scarred eyebrow playfully raised, ”You’re older than I am, Nibbles,” but his expression sobered right after that, ”That’s a long while for a little girl to be alone.”Spike confirmed that he had a soul with a quick nod and said, ”Guilty. Fought pretty hard for it, actually,” He wondered if Kathy would want to know exactly how he fought for it. He kind of hoped not. Even though she must have seen plenty of horrible things having lived over 200 years, she was still mentally a young girl and would probably be unnerved by some of the challenges he had to overcome to get his soul back, ”But it’s stuck in there for good, I would say.”He started to walk a bit closer to Kathy, still trying to remain soft and gentle in his movements as much as possible. By her soft laughter and interest if he had a soul, Spike thought he was making progress and didn’t want to cock anything up at this point. But he thought it would be nicer to be where he could see her eyes a little more, and not have to keep his voice up where other vampires and vampire hunters could hear them, ”I’m Spike. Though you can call me William, if you like.” Calling him by his actual name would probably be more suited to a young lady from her time period, though it did look as if she had gotten with the times, decked out from head to toe as she was in a fluffy Japanese cat icon. ”Don’t you ever feel like you want help?” Spike put somewhat simply and stiltedly. He could tell that his face was a picture of concern, and frankly, it was because he truly was concerned. Not only did this little vamp have something very rare, but Spike did have a natural protective streak in him. Regardless of being an only child, Spike had collected many people, mostly women, in the fold of those under his watch. Some because they appreciated it, like Dawn Summers, and others because Spike felt he owed them. In this case, it was because it was the right thing to do. But it was hard to say if the little vampire would think he was strange for offering her help. After all, she probably got through those long centuries by not trusting anyone. +++ TAGS: Katheryn WORD COUNT: 594 NOTES: I totally died of cute.

atheryn 'Kathy' Anne O'Connor smiled. Okay, she wanted to hug this blonde vampire. She wasn’t sure why but he made her feel safe, and that was something she hadn’t felt in a long time. Of course, it was also his accent that made her want to curl up and ask him to just talk while she tried to sleep. She wasn’t sure what it was about accents, but English and Irish accents had always soothed her. Irish accents she could understand because they reminded her of her home back in Ireland. She had always loved the way people talked there, though it had sounded completely normal to her back then. English accents confused her because she had never known anyone with an English accent before she was turned, so why it soothed her she had no idea. It didn’t really matter, just food for thought for another time. The brunette vampire shrugged her shoulders, not really knowing what to say. “I guess having a soul means that you’re special too.” She stated with a smile. “However sometimes I wonder if it would be easier to not have one. I mean, don’t get me wrong, I’m glad that I’m still myself…but being alone and caring about it for so long, really does get…” She trailed off, trying to come up with the word she wanted to use. When none came to mind she finished lamely “-annoying”. She giggled at the pet name nibbles, but she nodded when he said she was older than him. She was older than a lot of vampires, though it didn’t matter really. “I’m still not stronger.” She stated with a frown, knowing she probably shouldn’t be giving that little tidbit away, and yet she felt as if she could trust this vampire. “Because I was turned so young I’m still really weak in vampire terms. That’s why I stay by myself. It’s easier than getting killed.” She stated matter-of-factly. Kathy quirked her head to the side, her eyes widening. If anyone would have looked at her at that moment she would have reminded them of a little puppy dog waiting for their owners to talk to them some more. “Why’d you fight for it? I mean how long did you not have a soul and then got one?” She asked, genuinely curious. Giggling at his name. “Hmm…Spike or William. I might just have to come up with a nickname for you. I tend to give them a lot to people I like.” She told her, her childlike eyes lighting up at the prospect. She nodded her head at his question, knowing what he meant. “Sometimes, yes. But I’ve been searching for my brother and I can’t stop until I find him. He was turned a couple days before me but the woman who made us didn’t tell him she made me. She took him from me and I need to find him. He was my big brother, but also like my dad, and I need to find him.” She stated, her tone had taken on a pleading tone, though what she was pleading for she didn’t know. Word Count-569 Tag- SPIKE!!! She said he was special too. That just tickled him. Really, it was basket full of puppies with red ribbons ‘round their necks adorable. Spike had always liked being praised, but he never thought he would ever be thought of as special. This kid kind of melted his non-beating heart. ”Oh yeah, I know,” Spike said, conceding that he was certainly the stronger one among the two. Actually, he knew very well that children vampires weren’t any kind of competition. The very first time he was in Sunnydale, he had fried that kid vampire that was the leader of Aurelieus or Aquarius or something or the other without any trouble at all. Granted, he was pretty fresh, but he seemed no stronger than a human child. Spike didn’t think he would be mentioning that to Kathy, though. Best to leave his past behind for right now. He pursed his lips and added, ”It’s better to be smart than strong, though. And if you’ve lived that long, something’s right up there.””Why’d I get a soul?” Spike echoed the little vampire. Ooh, the reasons he got his soul he could probably go on about for a very long time. But he kind of wanted to put it succinctly, ”For love. I mean, ‘cause I loved someone. And I hurt them real bad, and I never wanted to do it ever again.”Spike took a moment. He was trying not to get lost in his guilt, and it wasn’t long before he answered Kathy’s other question, ”I really haven’t had it all too long, actually. Maybe two years. Year and a half. Feels like a lot longer, though. But that means I wasn’t with a soul for,” He paused to do the math between the day Dru made him and the time that he went to Africa, ”Hundred-twenty years or so. But let me tell you, soul or no, you still feel,” Spike came back to what she had said about it being easier to be without a soul, ”It’s different sort of feeling, but they’re all there. Loneliness. Despair. Anger. Joy. Love. Just strange versions, I guess. Thing is that being soulless makes it easier to try and medicate the bad and do whatever you want to get the good. But you do stupid, awful things sometimes.””Nickname? For me?” Spike gave a wry grin, ”Do I get a say in what it is?” Heaven forbid that anyone would call him ‘Blondie-Bear’ ever again. Even if there might be worse names to be called, Spike couldn’t think of something more annoying than that. The story about the brother was interesting though. It made sense now that she had never stopped traveling about and struggled through those long years. But being the realist he was, Spike wondered if the girl was doomed to wander for all eternity. With all the dangers in the world for a vampire, chances were that her brother could very well be poofed. It also made sense now why she was attaching onto him, Spike being a vampire with brotherly intentions. ”Oh, sweets,” The blonde vampire furrowed his brow. He didn’t really want to break the poor thing’s heart, but he also was a straightforward bloke. She wouldn’t like what he had to say, but it was the truth. And Spike was also a bad liar, so he had pretty much stopped trying to lie ever since he got his soul, ”If he’s out there, he’s not gonna be the brother you remember. I mean, it’s the nature of a vampire to destroy and devour and,” He gave a little defeated shrug, ”I don’t blame you for wanting to see him, but… he’s not gonna be the same.”+++ TAGS: Katheryn WORD COUNT: 619 NOTES: I approve of this future cuddling.

atheryn 'Kathy' Anne O'Connor giggled. She almost felt proud the way that this random vampire told her that she apparently was smart for living all these years, especially alone. It was strange the feelings that erupted in her while talking to him. He almost reminded her of her brother…though not at all. She knew she wasn’t making sense, even to herself, but it probably didn’t matter. She felt for him like she would for family, though he wasn’t anything like her brother (or at least not the brother that she knew back when…what and who he was now she didn’t know). She felt almost as if this vampire was family, but being how young she was she didn’t understand that was because they technically were from the same immediate bloodline. She nodded at his question about why he got a soul, allowing her jaw to drop when she was informed that he got a soul for love. That meant he had actually sought out a way to be better as it was, and that was quite impressive in her book. She was even more impressed when she heard that he had gone around for over a hundred years without one, then to go and find one...that was crazy in her book, but even more reason to like him. "You can still do bad things with a soul, so I guess it makes sense you can still do good things, and feel good things, without one." She pondered out loud. "I mean think about it, there are humans out there who make most vampires look like fluffy bunnies, so it probably does work the same way." She spoke, though more to herself than anything. She loved to learn, especially things like this. This vampire truly fascinated her. She wondered if he’d ever let her interview him with a bunch of random questions that made no sense to anyone but her…but she shoved that thought away, she’d revisit it at another time. “Nope!” She told him, popping the ‘P’ on the end in order to make her intent quite clear. “No one gets to decide their nicknames. Trust me, if that was the case, my big brother would definitely not have chosen him.” She giggled out, remembering the look on Liam’s face when she had first called him her angel. He had chased her around the garden and tickled her until tears filled her eyes, but the name had stuck…even causing their mother to call him that once or twice. Kathy saw the vampire's face fall when she told him that she was looking for her brother. She listened to what he said and while she had already known it, she hated to hear it just the same. "I know." She told him softly, her voice sad, but her face resolved. "I've tracked him all my life, and I've heard rumors that he's like me...like us." She told him, and then further explained. "I need to find Angel...just to know for sure. If he's the monster that killed me, I'll leave, and never try to find him again. But 200 years of not knowing, I can’t just walk away on a chance." She told him, not even noticing that her brother's nickname had slipped out without her permission. Word Count-566 Tag- SPIKE!!! Outfit- Click here---To View Kathy’s Outfit Note- Yay! Spike marveled at the complete turnaround Katheryn had made concerning him. Even most of the people he had known for a long time wouldn’t be this kind to him or this trusting of him. She just seemed so perfectly relaxed, so innocent. He wondered what was in him that made this girl so fond of him so quickly. Frankly, Spike was perfectly okay going along with it, since it was a kind of flattery he rarely got. He was a good guy now, after all, and he appreciated being treated like one. Her little analogy just made Spike give a nod of agreement, his face saying ‘I suppose that’s right.’ Because really, she was right. Spike himself had better morals than some humans with souls even without having a soul himself. He wondered if Kathy would be the same. It sounded like she had never been without her soul, and Spike wondered if the Powers had rigged the deck for her in some manner for one purpose or another. ”Perfect,” Spike’s voice dripped with sarcasm, though his wry smirk showed his amusement at the prospect of being bestowed a nickname. Although, chances were that he wouldn’t see Katheryn for much longer. People passed in and out of Spike’s life quickly sometimes and Spike was sure that this was a regular help the damsel and ride off into the sunset type of deal. And then she said something bizarre. Something that Spike could have never expected. ”Angel?” Spike couldn’t believe what he had just heard. Two hundred years or so. Probably has a soul. Named Angel. Spike inched closer to the little vampire until he reached out and brushed back her russet hair to get a closer look at her face, her eyes. Hopefully he didn’t scare the poor thing, but this was just priceless. He had to see if they looked alike, which, not surprisingly, they did. Spike barely kept in a laugh, ”You’ve got to be bloody kidding me. This is mad.” And then he couldn’t take it anymore and Spike practically howled with laughter. Oh, he knew Darla was a strange little bird, and this just reeked of her style. Somehow, for no reason at all, it made sense that Darla kept a secret weapon in the little sister. Maybe she was hoping for some kind of leverage or something. But this was a riot. Spike sank to a crouching position, where he could look up into Kathy’s face but still seem less intimidating than looming over her. ”Angel is one of my sires. My grand-sire, technically,” The blond vampire bit his bottom lip to keep from cracking up again before continuing, ”He does have a soul… most of the time. It depends on… well, it’s a bit complex, really.””Thing is, I don’t know where he is either,” Spike threw up his hands, though his expression still showed how much he was entertained by this odd situation, ”But to be sure, if you ever find a petite blond Slayer, he won’t be far behind.”+++ TAGS: Katheryn WORD COUNT: 507 NOTES: Sorry it's a bit short...

atheryn 'Kathy' Anne O'Connor giggled. She could tell that Spike wasn’t at all a fan of having a nickname, but that was the fun of it! She personally loved giving people nicknames, especially ones that they didn’t like that much. It was something that made her her so to speak. She had given her older brother the nickname Angel because he had always come to her rescue like her guardian angel. His name was Liam so Angel really had nothing to do with his name at all, but that was the beauty of it! She knew he hated it, but he couldn’t resist her puppy dog eyes so he went along with it…which made it all the more fun. She pondered for a moment, trying to think of a nickname to bestow on Spike that would drive him crazy but still meant something to her. She tilted her head, her brown curls falling to one side before she tilted it to the other, trying to get a good look at him. He reminded her of Billy Idol, at least his style did. She thought for a moment about calling him Billy but refrained. No, it was too easy…and not even a tad bit of fun. She knew she’d have to think about it a little more before she came up with one, but made it her mission to find something that would be perfect! Kathy bit her lip when she realized she had given her brother’s nickname out loud, something she rarely did. She nodded quickly when Spike repeated the name. "Yeah, Angel, my big brother. Well, that's not his real name. It's his nickname that I gave him. His real name was Liam, then he started going by Angelus, though where he got the name unless he took it from his nickname Angel I have no idea." She told him, though her eyes narrowed as she watched him push back her hair to apparently look at her. It was strange because he had looked at her all night, but he looked as if he was trying to see something, and he clearly saw it because he started laughing. Her lower lip jutted out into a pout, wanting to know why he was laughing. "Why are you laughing at me?" She asked with a small whine, stamping her small foot on the firm ground. Apparently he had known she was going to ask because before the words were even fully out of her mouth he answered, her mouth turning into an 'O' when he did. "Wait...you know my brother?!" She asked, hopping up and down excitedly. Another pout graced her lips when he said that he didn't know where he was. "What do you mean a blonde slayer? What’s a slayer?" she asked, not understanding. "And aren't sires supposed to stay with you and teach you things? At least that's what Anthony told me. Obviously mine didn't but that's because she was crazy...but why isn't he with you?" She asked innocently. Word Count-520 Tag- SPIKE!!! ”Whoa, steady there,” Spike lurched back to standing to avoid being trampled by the young girl’s exuberant jumping, ”Yeah, I know him. Traveled with him and our sires for twenty some-odd years and worked with him in L.A fairly recently. He came out east, and I’m pretty sure that he’s here, in Virginia, but I haven’t seen him yet.”Truth be told, Spike was lucky to know that Angel was here at all. After not hearing from the other vampire for a week or so, Spike had to suck up to Harmony of all people to figure out which way the big brooding wonder boy had gone. And while he could have stuck in L.A., Spike knew that wherever Angel went meant there was action to be had. Although, he had to admit that California was more his style. The lights and the dirty glamour spoke to Spike more than… plantations and whatever the hell else was out in Virginia. But that wasn’t the point. He knew that Buffy was around here somewhere too, which is why he had mentioned her. But the little vampire questioned him about what a Slayer was. For how old she was, Spike would have thought she’d have heard some stories at least. Maybe she hadn’t had any contact with any vampires at all. Then again, that was smart thinking for such a little thing. ”Who’s this Anthony guy who knows about vampires but not about Slayers? They kind of go hand in hand,” The blond vampire crossed his arms. Although, this kind of had a sort of nostalgic feeling. Angel had explained Slayers to him, and now he was explaining Slayers to Angel’s little sister. What an odd little world this was, ”Well, basically, the Slayers are girls who are destined to kill the things that go bump in the night. Well, the evil ones, at least. And they’re human, but they’re stronger and faster.””Well… I suppose some sires stick around, but not always, crazy or not. And Angel isn’t quite my sire, anyway,” Spike put his thumb to his lips in a moment of thought before continuing. Vampire family lines got a bit confusing, and The Whirlwind had even more complications since Darla was brought back. But he would explain it the best he could, ”Lemme put it this way. Darla made you and Angel. Angel made a girl named Drusilla. And Dru made me. So, you and I and Angel are connected, just not directly as much” He made a bit of a scowl since he had gotten to the part where the little vampire asked about why Angel wasn’t with him, ”I.. eh… We don’t get on most of the time. It’s a… We have something of a rivalry. Not the kind where you kill each other. Just the kind where you kind of want to half the time. We have an arrangement of sorts. It’s a bit messy, but it works.””Anyway, Slayer,” Spike changed the subject back, his ”If you find her, you’re bound to find your brother shuffling along behind her somewhere, I’d say. Goes by Buffy Summers. If you use those pouty puppy-dog eyes on her, I’m sure she’ll take you right in and you’ll be with your brother in no time. They work for Angel, at least, those eyes.” +++ TAGS: Katheryn WORD COUNT: 554 NOTES: ~

atheryn 'Kathy' Anne O'Connor grinned. She couldn’t help it, she started bouncing up and down. She usually tried to reign in her enthusiasm or actually her emotions in general, but this time she truly couldn’t help her. Her brown curls went in every direction as she bounced around, her giggles and grin almost intoxicating as it made her look even younger than her already young eleven years old. She knew she probably looked ridiculous but she couldn’t help tit. This just gave her proof that her brother was alive and not the evil devil incarnate that their sire had made him into. She let out another giggle when Spike told her to calm down but she tried to do as he asked, knowing that she was a bit on the giddy side. She looked up at the sky and saw that she still had several hours until she had to be back inside, and turned her eyes back to Spike, giving him her full attention. She listened as he explained about traveling with his sire and how he worked with her big brother in Los Angeles. "You said you worked with him, what did you guys do?" she asked curiously, wanting any information on her brother...and Spike for that matter...that she could gain. "Anthony might know about slayers, he just hasn't told me anything about them." She explained to him as if he was a three year old. "Anthony tells me things I ask him or sometimes he'll tell me things I don't, but he's never mentioned a slayer to me. However with the description you gave me he probably avoided telling me because he knew it would scare me. I'm not as strong as the normal vampire and it doesn't take much to get me running as fast as I can. Anthony does what he can to protect me but he's got responsibilities to others. He's a vampire." She told him, not knowing how else to explain Anthony. Kathy listened, her eyes wide with fascination as she listened to Spike explain about sires and how he was made. "Why don't you two get along?" She asked curiously, not understanding how the caring Spike and her older brother couldn't like each other. "Pouty Puppy-Dog eyes?" She asked innocently, though it was clear she knew exactly what he was talking about as she adopted the look he had been describing almost innocently. "What do you mean?" Word Count-423 Tag- SPIKE!!! ”Fought the bad guys, mostly. And helped people,” The blond vampire put much more simply than the actual situations that they had gotten into. Yes, his time in Los Angles certainly included rescuing a damsel in distress here and there, but losing Fred and dealing with Illyria—that was the hard stuff. Not knowing what else to say, Spike decided to elaborate on what he knew of Angel’s situation before he himself arrived via post, ”He had taken over a law firm branch when I got there. I’m sure he was doing goody-good stuff before then too.””Mm,” He replied to Kathy explaining about her friend Anthony. He couldn’t tell if he thought her tone was condescending and he disliked that or if he thought it was just another of her charming moments that she would actually talk to him in that manner. He usually took that from people like Tara and Dawnie—people that he considered were under his protection, since they couldn’t effectively protect themselves as well as someone like Willow or Buffy. Kathy fit under the ‘needs protection’ category handily, so Spike just gave a wry smile and nodded as she explained herself. If this Anthony was a vampire, chances are the little vamp’s theory was right. Although, Spike wasn’t sure if it had been smart to not tell her. Sometimes fear was a good defense against doing stupid things. Spike thought for a moment about why and he and Angel didn’t get along. Well, he knew exactly why they didn’t get along, but what was he going to tell the little girl in front of him? It wasn’t as if he could just say, ‘Your brother’s a bland, whining poofster’ right to her face. Anyone else or at any other time in his unlife, perhaps he could have put it that way, but that wasn’t the case here and now. Instead, he gave a little shake of his head and said, ”Just a bad history, love. Too long to talk about now.” ”Just ask nice,” Spike assured her with a grin as she asked what in the world her puppy-dog eyes were, ”Pretty sure the eyes are an automatic thing,” He placed his hands back in his duster’s pockets, pondering on what exactly he was going to do with Kathy now that he had found her. It would only spell trouble to be seen in public with her, considering their age and coloring difference would make him seem like some kind of kidnapping pedophile. He could try to drop her off at the Slayer-Watcher boarding house, but with all the trouble brewing over there, Spike wasn’t so sure that would be the best plan either. If she was going to meet the Sunnydale gang, it would be best when they were all calm. Or at least less bitter and angry than they were right then. Well, maybe he could see what the little vampire wanted to do. Turning his gaze back to Kathy, the blond vampire asked, ”What do you think you’re going to do now? Now that you know he’s close?” +++ TAGS: Katheryn WORD COUNT: 516 NOTES: Kath wins most adorable character, hands down. :3

atheryn 'Kathy' Anne O'Connor took a deep breath. She needed to calm down. She knew that this was the closest she had come to finding her brother in over fifty years, but that was no reason to get all insane about it. She had to keep her head, to keep her wits about her. She needed to make sure that she kept herself alive long enough to find her brother or else her entire existence would be moot point. She knew it was ridiculous to be this excited about finding someone who had essentially killed her but she couldn’t help it, she missed him. She giggled loudly at the thought of her big brother taking over a law firm. She couldn’t imagine him as a layer, nor could she imagine him dealing with anyone who actually needed a lawyer. “My brother? Working at a law firm? We are talking about the same Angel right? Tall, big, dark brown eyes, brown hair that the last time I saw him was short and spikey? According to all the girls even back in Ireland he was the classic ‘Dark and Mysterious’ guy? You sure? Because I cannot imagine him dealing with lawyers…at all.” She told him, her giggle sounding out louder than normal but the innocent tone of it would have melted anyone’s heart. The tiny vampire gave him a pout, her puppy dog eyes in full force when he told her that their bad history was too long to explain. “Promise you’ll tell me one day?” She asked, her voice taking on an even younger quality, sounding like a tiny child who wanted an answer and knowing that they weren’t going to get it. Her voice had a pleading quality to it that would not be denied, and she would pout and beg until she got what she wanted. “I’m going to head back to my hotel before the sun is up, probably get a few more hours of sleep, maybe work on my next book.” She told him absentmindedly, before explaining. “I’m a writer, that’s how I make a living and keep myself up to date on things. I’ve written a few children’s books as well as a few young adult novels. Using a penname of course and one of Anthony’s family members usually handles the dealings for me, I just write them and bring in the money.” She told him with a smile. “What are your plans?” Word Count-424 Tag- SPIKE!!!
