Madison Mackenzey Compassion Saxon sat in her room, as she picked up her cell phone that had beeped because she had received a new text message. Maddie opened it and smiled at what Willow said. So now Maddie was going to meet Buffy for the first time. She knew that she’d better leave the sketch book out of it since that seems to come off as a little creepy. Maddie knew that this went against everything that Gabriel had told her but he wasn’t around, he was dead.
Maddie stood up and she put on her shoes and grabbed her bag. She walked out of her home and to the Harley Davidson Motorcycle. She was to meet Willow at Borders in a little bit. Maddie just figured she should get there early so that she wasn’t the one that was late… as always. Maddie started the bike and she put her black helmet on, the one that her cousin had gotten her with a bat symbol on the side.
Maddie had arrived at the Border’s book store and she parked the motorcycle in a space that was far from the entrance. It was her thing. She didn’t want the bike to get ruined. Maddie had taken the helmet off and she let her red hair fall down to her shoulders. She made sure the bike was secured and she walked inside Border’s carrying her helmet, not wanting to leave it out by the bike.
Maddie looked around and walked into the café. Willow and Buffy weren’t here yet, which was fine. Maddie walked over to the counter and she ordered herself a coffee. After she paid for it and received it, she sat down at a table and she sent a text message to Willow telling the young witch that she was here and to take her time.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Willow knew that they needed to meet soon, it was a surprise that someone who sees visions about someone hasn’t even met Buffy yet. So Willow texted Maddie to plain a place and a time for them to meet up, Willow knew that they were going to get along just fine. Maddie really was a fun great fun person after all, so they all for sure were going to have one hell of a time. Plus she all ready knew so much about Buffy as is, it really was going to be interesting on how it could go.
Willow sat in the car with Buffy as she was driving them to borders, she knew that Buffy had to be lost on what was going on and were she was taking her and who she was meeting. Willow pretty much just told her she was taking her to meet someone very important that she would love. “Buffy you are going to love Maddie when you meet her, and don’t worry when we get there and you meet her you will know why she is so important.” Said Willow. Willow wasn’t going to tell her just yet that she is a prophet, she wanted to leave that for Maddie to tell her. Plus Willow didn’t need to freak Buffy out just yet. Willow then got a text telling her to take her time which meant she was running late, which was good for Willow meaning she could maybe get there on time for once.
When they got to Borders Willow pulled in and parked the car, she noticed Maddie bike sitting outside. So she knew that she all ready was there, it seemed Willow was later then she though. “it looks like she is all ready here Buff, that’s her bike over there. So let’s head on in.” Willow then walked into borders looking around to see if she saw her anywhere. But then she found her noticing her drinking coffee. “there she is over there! Hey Maddie.” Willow called to her. The sad thing was she could probably all ready see this coming with her being a prophet and all.
- - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - -Alright, so she was highly confused. Willow had told her that they were going to meet someone yet no one really would explain to her who. She knew that Willow had met her a few days prior but really that was all she knew. Her red-headed best friend had been fairly tight lipped about the whole thing and she wasn’t sure if she was alright with that. She hated to say it but she was used to being in charge, to being in the know, so when someone else took the reins and kept her in the dark it put her on edge, worried her, and that was the feeling she had at the moment.
She had just gotten home from work so she still had her school clothes on. Black pants with her extremely cute and extremely comfortable black heels on. These were the heels that she had one of almost every color in because they were cute, classy, comfortable, and went with absolutely everything. Her cross necklace hung around her neck just like it always did, though her shirt was fairly high cut, for her at least, so instead of hiding inside her shirt it sat on top of the redish orangish shirt that she still wasn’t sure if she liked. She liked the style, but the color wasn’t something she usually wore…though she had given it a chance because it was cheap, cute, and she had needed some new clothes.
She got in the car and listened to Willow ramble on about this girl named Maddie that she had never met, never heard of, and yet apparently they were going to get along. This concerned her because she was a bit weird about who she let in to the ‘truth’ column of people she knew, but she tried to trust Willow’s judgement as much as possible. The blonde slayer made a promise to herself that she would keep an open mind, though she wasn’t sure how true she could stay to her inner word.
They pulled up to Borders Books, something that usually would have made the blonde groan but she kept it in. She followed her red headed best friend into the store and nodded when Willow stated that she could see her. She followed her towards her and was met with a short redheaded girl who looked shy, but nice. She stood next to Willow before rolling her eyes. “Hi, I’m Buffy.” She stated with what she hoped was a friendly smile. “It’s nice to meet you.”
Madison Mackenzey Compassion Saxon sat there waiting for Willow. She took a sip of her coffee and slowly started to feel boredom creeping on her. She pulled out her little leather sketchbook and she started drawing little cartoons inside on a blank page. She just put her pencil down and she started drinking from her coffee again.
Her attention was caught when she heard the familiar voice from Willow Rosenberg. She looked and she smiled. Maddie waved her over and saw that she was with a familiar blond haired young woman named Buffy Summers, the Vampire Slayer. Maddie didn’t know what to expect right now. She knew that this was bad because of everything that Gabriel had told her. She wished he was here with them right now, knowing that he could probably make the situation better, as he always did.
Maddie looked at the blond when she had said that she was Buffy and it was nice to meet her. Maddie smiled to her and Willow.
“I’m Madison Saxon, Maddie for short. It’s nice to meet you too.” Maddie smiled to her, holding out a hand for Buffy to shake. She knew that it was a polite thing to do meeting someone for the first time and not like what she did with Gabriel when she met him for the first time.
Maddie looked at Buffy. This was just very strange. Before the young girl had met Gabriel, she had thought that all her dreams were just that. They were just dreams. Now, they were all real, they all had a meaning and Buffy, the Slayer from her dreams was real.
“how much has Willow told you?” Maddie asked, looking from Buffy to Willow.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Willow could see Maddie waving them over there, “Come on Buff.” Willow said quickly making her way over to Maddie. “Oh hey Maddie may I say you are looking well, anyway this is my best friend well.. you all ready know her Buffy.” Said Willow with excitement in her voice. Maddie all ready has known who Buffy was, she just had never met her in person so Willow had to sound kind of dumb right now to Buffy. She had to be lost on what was going on here. One doesn’t give it long before she starts asking a lot of questions. Hopefully Maddie tells her soon the deal.
She then asked Buffy how much Willow had told her, and the truth was not much because she really didn’t know if Buffy would even believe her right away. Willow herself didn’t believe her, she though she was nuts. Which in Maddie own way she is but that’s why Willow loved her. “No Maddie I haven’t told her much, I though it would be best if you would explain it too her. She would just think I’m crazy more then she does all ready” Said Willow with a giggle.
The truth was Buffy was going to be in shock that someone had seen most of her life, felt the pain that she has. Willow just didn’t know if Buffy was going to like someone knowing most of her life, or If she was going to hate it. Because sometimes Buffy has known to be a very private person, especially with everything that goes on between her and Angel. But then again sometimes she don’t care and she just needs someone to let it all out. Which is were Willow comes in whenever Buffy needs her to be.
Willow knew that Buffy might want to be sitting down for all of this, plus Willow was getting tired of standing. “Come on guys lets all sit down and talk. I know I need some coffee right now, how about you guys?” Said Willow

- - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - -Buffy smiled softly at the red head. “It’s nice to meet you Maddie. I would give you a nickname for me but yeah, I really don’t have one.” She stated with a roll of her eyes at herself. God could she be any more lame? She seriously needed some relaxation after the past few days that she had. She turned to her best friend when the young girl asked how much she had told her. Yeah, the blonde was definitely confused. How much had Willow told her? All she had told her was there was someone she wanted her to meet. Was there something else she should know?
Most likely yes, there was something else she should know. Honestly she should have expected that when Willow had originally stated that she wanted her to meet Maddie. She didn’t mean any offense to Maddie but their group was fairly tight knit so wanting to introduce someone into it tended to be a pretty big deal. The last ‘new members’ that had been introduced to the Scooby gang (with the exception of the potentials and Andrew who had technically been their hostage and Dawn who they had all thought had been there for awhile) was Tara.
Honestly? That’s why Buffy thought Willow was bringing her to meet Maddie. She hadn’t said anything to Willow but had assumed that her red headed best friend had met someone knew and that was the reason she wanted them to meet. However looking t the two red heads in front of her, she had a feeling she was a tad bit off base with that one.
“Uh…I’m confused.” She stated with a lost expression on her face. “And yes, I definitely need some coffee. So exactly what am I missing?” She asked, looking from Maddie to Willow. She noted Willow wanted the other girl to tell her and she rolled her eyes. She loved her best friend, really she did, but damn, could she stop talking in riddles today. She rolled her eyes again (she really needed to stop doing that, it was giving her a headache) and walked over to the counter, ordering a Mocha with extra chocolate before coming back and sitting down at the table. “Alright, so what exactly is going on?” She asked, the expression on her face clearly stating she wanted answers and she would get them whether anyone wanted to give them to her or not.

This was stupid. It had been a long time since Spike had run around in the daytime, a blanket being the only cover that barely protected him. He managed to dash into a shaded alley for a second and looked around at where he was. Although the vampire was starting to get the layout of the city a little more under his hands, Spike didn’t really recognize where he was right now. Why was he out here again? Oh, right. Bloody local pawn shop closed at four. Sometimes, Spike wished he would have the sense to just ask the Slayerettes for money, but he still had a smidgen of pride. Even if he had to pawn off things he fixed up from the landfills and took from the evil vamps he dusted. Plus, running about filled up his days more eventfully than just grinding his teeth and sleeping. Ditching the blanket, Spike walked the length of the alley, coming right up to the shadow’s edge and squinted his eyes to see out into the sunlight, something he could look at but never touch. With a bit of a sigh, he inspected the alley further, finally recognizing that there was a door of some kind. Well, being inside for a couple more hours would probably beat lounging about in an alleyway. And whatever this building was, it looked commercial, so he wouldn’t need any invitations to enter. Spike shuffled through his pockets for his lock-picking tools and was off to work. After hearing the satisfying click, he took one more glance to make sure no one saw him go in, and slipped behind the door. It was some kind of bookstore he had entered. He probably had gone through some emergency exit of some kind, and now Spike was somehow in the clearance stacks at the back of the store. Well, he could think of worse ways to spend an afternoon. Reading was something Spike usually left to the research lot or certain sad-sack vampire poofs, but that didn’t mean Spike was illiterate. And he had to blend in somehow until dusk fell. Taking off his leather duster, he folded the coat across his arm and made his way through the store. And, of course, somehow Spike wandered into the poetry section. He simply reached out and took the first book his fingers touched, not really caring what it was. Although, it was a John Keats book. John Keats was good enough. He flipped open the book, skimming over the introduction as he kept walking. Usually these places came with a little café attached to them nowadays and Spike figured he could borrow a spare chair from them, read and ponder until the sun went down and then get out of dodge. The blond vampire looked up for a moment, and did spy the café, with three familiar girls sitting at a table together. Nearly tripping over his own feet, Spike instinctively threw himself behind a bookshelf, out of the line of their sight. Spike didn’t really understand his sudden urge to hide, but it probably had something to do with not living up to his stalker reputation. After all, he did not need anyone to think that he had to be around the Sunnydale lot all the time, or that he was being Buffy-obsessive again. Also, what was Maddie Saxon doing there? So much for listening to her guardian angel’s warnings. In any case, the thought of popping over there out of nowhere put a twist in Spike’s stomach. Not that cowering behind a bookshelf was any better. Then again, Buffy’s Slayer sense was probably already tingling from a vampire being around, so Spike knew that he wouldn’t be able to hide anywhere in the store for long. Frankly, the vampire was just screwed. Well, the best thing in this situation was just to let the girls ignore him or not. If they paid him no mind, he would just read his book. If they did decide to talk to him, then he’d have to think up an excuse as to why he was there fast. ‘I pawned some junk and now I’m trying not to fry’ just didn’t seem like the thing Spike wanted to say. But regardless, Spike stiffly walked over to a pair of chairs, far from any windows but close to where the group was, and sat down, propping his feet up on another chair across from him, ”Beautiful day outside,” Spike said, cracking open his Keats again. +++ TAGS: Maddie, Willow, Buffy WORD COUNT: 752 NOTES: Sorry if Spike appearing seems… random.

Madison Mackenzey Compassion Saxon looked at Willow when she said that she hadn’t told Buffy anything. That was going to make this hard. Maddie didn’t exactly know what to say to the slayer. She wasn’t instructed by Gabriel at the moment and if he were here, he would kill her for sure. She only shook those thoughts out of her head. She looked at Buffy and thought a moment. What was she going to say? She couldn’t think of an easy way to tell Buffy that she sees them in her dreams.
Maddie just couldn’t really believe that she was sitting across the table from Buffy. It was just that overwhelming. She had asked what she was missing. A whole hell of a lot would be Maddie’s response. Maddie took a deep breath then let it out slowly. She may have just found the words.
“well I met Willow a while ago and told her all of this, against what my friend had suggested, and I met your friend, if he is, Spike and he knows too.” Maddie started and she then got her mind on the right track. “I’m a prophet. I am supposed to follow the life of someone or people that are I guess… assigned to me? If that’s the way to say it… anyway, the angels had assigned you to me, so in my dreams and stuff I see your life, not to make that sound creepy or anything.” Maddie then said and she knew that she would get it all out in one blow. Maddie then handed Buffy the sketchbook and she gave Willow a worried look. “anyway, I have to record my visions and this is how I do it. I do it through drawing and painting.” Maddie then said wondering what Buffy was going to think.
Maddie then took a sip of her coffee waiting for Buffy or Willow to say something. This was really awkward and uncomfortable for the prophet. She looked down at her feet as she moved her right foot.
beautiful day outside
Maddie turned when she saw Spike. This was a little weird. She then looked at Spike with a weird look on her face.
“what are you doing here? Last time I checked the sun was shining.” Maddie said, more being worried than anything else.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Willow was nervous to know what Buffy was going to think, finding out that someone she had never even met knew a lot about her. Someone has Dreams about what goes threw Buffy’s everyday life, it had to be scary for Maddie having all those visions all the time. Willow knew that there had to be pain that come along with it, she recalls Cordelia telling her that it killed her head every time that it happened to her. Every time she had a vision she felt pain, Willow wondered if it was like that for Maddie. And if so with all the stuff that had went on in Buffy’s life she is lucky not be dead from seeing all of it.
Willow listened as she begin to tell Buffy the story of how her and Maddie met, Willow remembers it just like it was just yesterday. Willow was having coffee when she met Maddie, they begin to talk and the rest is history. Now they our good friends, and helpfully Buffy and her will be as well. Maddie begin to tell Buffy who and what she was and Willow couldn’t have said it better herself, even though it wouldn’t have mattered Buffy would have just laughed at Willow and be like yeah right Willow. But what Willow was really worried about was whether she was going to believe Maddie or not, she really hoped she was going to.
Not long after that Spike had joined them sitting at the table right behind them, what and how was he even there with it being daylight out. He really was risking getting burned up, again. “Hey Spike I have one question for you, how did you get in here with out turning to bacon?” Asked Willow with a smile on her face.
- - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - -The blonde slayer listened as Maddie explained that she had met Willow a bit ago and she had also met Spike (which made her want to groan as neither of them had informed her of anything like this) and then her eyes widened as she listened to the rest. She knew that prophets were real but had always assumed that they were assigned by covens to do a specific task, as the seer in the coven who drew out the names of the potentials for her were doing. But when she found out this young girl had visions of her life she blanched. Yeah, that wasn’t good. She had a hard enough time keeping track of her life and she lived it, let alone allowing someone else to do so.
She heard her state that the angels had assigned Buffy to Maddie and this made her stop. She opened her mouth to ask why, how, or any of the other fifteen hundred questions that came to mind when she heard the bell jingling on the door signaling someone had walked in. She turned her head towards the door, her blonde hair covering her face for a moment to allow her thoughts to sink in. Unfortunately she didn’t have time to let them as her eyes fell on who had walked in.
Buffy’s eyes narrowed when Spike strolled into the bookstore. She wasn’t exactly sure what he was doing there but regardless it didn’t bother her. She had to shake her head at the sheer fact of how things had changed over the years. Just a few short years ago she would have immediately jumped up to pummel the blonde vampire if she would have seen him anywhere near anyone, regardless of if she knew them or not. Now however, things had changed. He was actually one of her closest friends, trusted confidants, and someone that she cared deeply about. However, the sun was out and while she knew vampires had several ways of going from point A to point B in the daylight hours it still had always made her nervous. “Spike…what are you doing here?” She asked exasperated, not that he was there, but that he was most likely being reckless with the sun out.
She snickered at Willow’s question about Spike turning into bacon before turning her attention back to Maddie. “You sure you’re cool with me looking at these?” She asked before handing her the sketchpad back. “Why don’t you show me the ones you want me to see? I’m sure there’s things in there that even I shouldn’t see.” She told her, winking to let her know not to be worried.
Spike wasn’t really surprised that the girls wanted to know why he was there, or rather how he got in the bookshop in the first place. After all, he knew it was foolish of him to be running around during daylight hours. But it’s not as if he was a child, and he certainly took the necessary precautions. He wasn’t about to be bitter about their queries though. It just meant they were worried a bit, even if they shouldn’t be. ”Was running errands,” Spike put simply enough, ”Decided to educate myself a bit after. And trust me, my lot has plenty of ways to get out while that big ball of fire is in the sky,” He glanced at a pool of sunlight that he could tell was edging towards where he was sitting. He’d probably have to move in half-an-hour or so, ”What can I say? I get bored being cooped up all day.””Although, you have just as much explaining to do, missy,” Spike directed this to Maddie with a mischievous look, ”Thought your angel buddy was not too keen on this particular meeting of minds. What caused your change of heart?”After Maddie replied to him, Spike went back to his book, one eye looking over the pages every so often to keep tabs on the girls’ conversation. When Buffy returned the sketchbook to the ginger prophet, saying that there were some things that she should see, Spike thought to himself that what the Slayer probably meant was there were some things that she didn’t want to remember. Hell, when Spike first met Maddie, he nearly had a heart attack that she knew all the horrible and embarrassing things he had done. If she did, Maddie was pretty discreet with it. Somehow, he felt like he could trust the prophet, and it seemed that she trusted him back. Spike really wasn’t the type to go out and make friends, but more and more he felt a strange rapport was forming between him and Maddie. The fact that he was a vampire didn’t seem to bother her, and even though she knew some of his past, it didn’t give her the same distaste that others like Giles and Xander felt for him. He was also curious if Maddie was going to talk about angels more. She had pointed out some random ones before, but Spike was unsure if he could really tell the difference between a normal person and angel. It would also be funny to see how Buffy and Willow would react. They had all seen strange and inexplicable things in their time, but he knew that the Slayer especially could be skeptical. ”So… what does a prophet actually do once they’ve met their… whatchamacallit?” Spike asked, not really looking up from the book. It was probably interesting for someone to know that another person was cataloging their life, but Spike was interested in knowing if there was some other reason for Maddie to meet or not meet Buffy. +++ TAGS: Maddie, Willow, Buffy WORD COUNT: 503 NOTES: ~
Madison Mackenzey Compassion Saxon looked at Willow and Buffy and she smiled when they both basically asked the same question. Spike’s response was one that she wasn’t quite expecting. He said that he was running errands, which was suicide for a vampire to do during the day because of obvious reasons. She understood what he meant by he gets bored being cooped up all day. She gets like that too and usually goes on walks or rides her bike.
“what can I say? I have poor listening skills.” Maddie responded with a light smile before saying “that was him not me. He didn’t want me to meet you guys because of some half ass excuse and now that he just up and left I don’t have to listen to him, though I hope that this pisses him off beyond all reason so he can stop by and I can kill him.” Maddie shrugged with a half evil smirk on her face. She had just learned that Gabriel was alive and that he hadn’t come to see her or tell her anything she really wanted to kill him.
Buffy had then asked Maddie if she was okay with her looking at them. Maddie shrugged and smiled. “only if you are.” she simply replied before looking at Spike who started talking again. Maddie just put the sketch book down on the table. She wondered if Buffy even believed her. She hoped so since Willow and Spike did.
She then turned her attention back to Spike when he asked her his question. “I don’t know. I’ve never heard of it happening before except one case. don’t know who, but I guess its happened. ” Maddie said with a shrug. “maybe I can help in some way. Sometimes I see things before they happen.” Maddie said looking from Spike to Buffy.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~It seemed as though Maddie was going to show Buffy her sketches which was good, it meant that Buffy was all ok with this. It also made Willow wonder was there anything that Buffy maybe wanted to know that she didn’t know about herself. But who knows on the other hand she might want to know. This also made Willow wonder did Maddie know about Angelus and everything he had done, if so those aren’t at all good images to have at your head at all. Willow wouldn’t want them all the time that’s for sure.
Willow knew that when spike said Angel buddy he had to be talking about Gabriel, which made Willow wonder how he was doing. He really was a strange one that’s for sure, but he really was a great friend to Maddie. She could tell that right off the bat when she met him. But Willow didn’t really get why he didn’t want them all meeting though. “Hey Maddie how is Gabriel doing anyway? And why didn’t he want you to meet all of us, I’m a bit lost I though he liked me.” Willow then remembered how she was to him. “Well I didn’t think he hates me that much.” Said Willow with a smile.
Maddie then had said something to them about helping them out, by seeing things before they happened. Which could really help out the group in a big way, and with there bad luck it could help them from ever getting killed.“ You know maddie that’s not a bad idea, all thought it would be kind of scary to see what could happen. But if there was away to stop it that be good to. Wait you can stop if you know what is going to happened right.” Willow then remember the old saying that you cant change the past no matter what, it made her wonder if they even could.

- - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - -She rolled her eyes at Spike’s comment about running errands. Really, what errands did he have to run? She really had no idea but then again she probably didn’t want to know. Knowing him he was out finding kittens so that he could use them to play poker with. She had never understood that and she was glad of that, because the thought of anything bad happening to those kittens made her sad…which was funny since she definitely wasn’t a cat person. She really wasn’t an animal person at all, she couldn’t even keep goldfish alive so what was the point of a pet?
Buffy quirked her eyebrow a bit, wondering what angel had told Maddie that they couldn’t meet. That really didn’t make any sense to her as if she was a seer or prophet or whatever that learned about her life, why shouldn’t Buffy be made aware of her? This just seemed a bit funny to the blonde slayer and she made a mental note to keep an eye on things. It wasn’t that she thought Maddie was out to get them or anything, because she didn’t sense any malice from her at all, it was just a bit…sketchy in her mind.
The blonde laughed slightly when Spike asked about a prophet meeting their charge so to speak. “My question exactly, though I would have probably phrased it a bit better.” She stated, her eyes alight, throwing a wink to Spike to let him know she was just kidding around with him. It was one of the reasons she loved their relationship. They could mess with each other and it not mean anything, and when it came down to it they could tell one another the cold hard truth and it wasn’t said to be mean, but it was because the other needed to hear it.
When Maddie answered that she was unsure of what happened when a prophet met their charge, this shook her a bit. Would this cause problems? For Maddie or for them? She couldn’t see how but she made another mental note to be on the lookout. She knew this girl now, at least a little bit, and didn’t want to see any harm coming down to her. Her eyes bore into the redheads eyes, wanting her to see the sincerity in hers. “If anyone gives you any trouble, send them my way. If I’m not around, send them to Spike. We’ll take care of them.” She stated with a smile, though it was clear she was beyond serious.
Willow mentioning Gabriel pulled her away from Maddie and onto her best friend for a moment before turning back to the prophet. “Wait…Gabriel is the angel? Oh me and him are going to have a little chat.” She stated, glaring at the table, though not at any in particular. “We met a few months back and he didn’t tell me anything about you. He was nice, let me keep this weird sword thing that killed angels or something which was cool, and he offered me a beer and some candy if I remember correctly. But yeah, he didn’t mention you.” She stated, pouting a bit. “Why’d he want you to stay away from us?”

”It’s a technical term,” The vampire replied to Buffy’s teasing, a mock-innocent look on his face. Sometimes it was nicer to have her be like this than any other way. When they could banter back and forth, there was no drama, no emotional baggage, and no agendas. It was perfectly clear what was going on and it was a natural state of being for both of them, considering that one liners were a staple part of how they spoke. Besides, when Buffy was playful like that, it meant that Spike didn’t have to walk on eggshells. Although, he had caught that she rolled her eyes when he gave his rather vague excuse. Luckily, she seemed to let it slide, but maybe he could explain further later. It would probably make Buffy roll her eyes at him again, but it would make Spike feel better. He just didn’t want to say it in front of everyone. The last time he had said that he was looking into a crypt to crash in around Maddie, she invited him to stay at her house. It was cute of her to do that, but he wasn’t a charity case. Spike needed to hold onto his pride for some reason. Spike gave a little chuckle when Buffy offered their protective services to Maddie. There was a little story that Spike had not told the Slayer that made her saying that kind of funny. He turned to the red-headed prophet and gave a little grin, ”You already know I’m good for it.””Angels handing out swords, liquor and sweets?” Spike clucked his tongue as he turned a page, commenting on Gabriel just cause he felt like it, ”Don’t remember that being in the holy book.”And once again, it just made this Gabriel bloke more of a mystery. Spike’s first inclination was to dislike the angel, since he just up and abandoned the girl Spike assumed Gabriel was supposed to protect. But the way Buffy spoke about him made him out to be a little more complex and generous—who would give somebody a weapon that could kill them, and why for that matter? It kind of made Spike want to meet Gabriel. On the other hand, Spike could be dusted with one touch from the angel, so perhaps it would be best to stay away. But as Buffy asked for clarification as to exactly why Gabriel asked Maddie to stay away from them, Spike couldn’t help but nod in agreement. He seemed to remember some hogwash about how being around Buffy would be ‘dangerous’, but from what Spike knew about Maddie’s past, she had brushed up against danger quite a few times. And if she could really see into the future, he supposed there might be even less danger to deal with, or at least they would be more prepared for it. +++ TAGS: Maddie, Willow, Buffy WORD COUNT: 477 NOTES: ~
