- - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - -Three vampires down and the adrenalin was pumping through her at an alarming rate. She was so hyped up that she wasn’t sure what could tame it. She wished there was something stronger than the vampires she had faced out here, but then regretted the notion as if there was something stronger out here she highly doubted it would have not killed anyone yet…and she didn’t wish that on anyone. She looked at her watch and noted the time. She could easily drive another hour away to patrol a larger cemetery and still make it back before the others woke up. The thought was tempting, but it was only a brief one.
Her thought was brief because of the whole being kicked in the head thing that had happened. She groaned as she fell forward and looked up to see a vampire advancing on her quickly. She muttered under her breath before kicking her legs up in order to right herself. She immediately got into a fighting stance and raised an eyebrow. “No fair hitting GO when I wasn’t looking. That will cost you 15 brownie points mr.” She quipped before jumping at the vampire, her stake out in her hand naturally.
She felt the vampire in question try and attack her but she rolled her eyes and side stepped him. He wasn’t nearly as smart as some of the others she’d faced and this fight was almost as pathetic as it was short.
“Come on, why are you picking on a defenseless girl?” She asked, though not really expecting an answer. She saw him snap at her and was fairly shocked when he reached out a knife from his back pocket. It wasn’t usual that vampires carried weapons so she wasn’t prepared, thus leaving her with a cut across her arm and one across her cheek. She could tell when the scent of blood hit the vampire because he got even more crazed and she knew she had to end this. “Oh, wait, I’m not defenseless.” She stated, using his own weight as momentum as he came at her to flip him upside down. Shoving the stake through his chest quickly she sighed in relief when she watched his body turn to dust and ash.
She wiped her hands on her pants, scowling at the cut on her arm. Her thoughts were interrupted by a scream and she didn’t think, she just ran towards it.
Once there she saw a dead girl laying on the ground and a vampire advancing towards another. She jumped in, grabbing the vampire’s arm. “Hey! Why don’t you pick on someone my size.” She told him before delivering a punch directly to his face. She didn’t let the fight go on long as she threw him over the headstone. She barely gave him an opportunity to fight back before she plunged the stake directly into his heart, rolling her eyes at the dust. She turned back to the girl, knowing she had to do something. She crouched down in front of her. “Are you alright?” She waited until the girl nodded before smiling sadly. “Run home. I’ll take care of everything.” She told her before waiting until she did. Once the girl was gone she dialed 911, placing an anonymous call before heading towards another part of the cemetery, making sure not to be seen.
She sighed as she waited until she saw the ambulance pull in before heading back to the boarding house, not wanting to stay out any later. She didn’t want to get caught in the cemetery by the authorities…it would be a bit hard to explain why she was there when a dead girl was found not even a mile away.
She walked back towards the house, her mind contently blank as she did. She didn’t want to think about anything, literally, wanted to keep her brain cleared of all rational or irrational thoughts because when she thought too much, it got her into trouble.
Before long she realized she was walking up the driveway of the house she was renting (though considering buying). She noted the time was after midnight and opened the door, creeping in as silently as possible to not wake the other occupants of the home up. However a noise from the living room alerted her that someone was still up. As she walked into the room her eyes widened as she saw who it was. She noted the broom that had fallen, though she didn’t know who had knocked it over as the person sitting on her couch was not anywhere near the broom.

--------------------------------------------
Even though Angel had been pretty tired he really hadn’t been able to sleep very long. At first, he tried to read one of the books he’d brought to the house with him. It was a novel from the nineteenth century by a young writer name Yohan Devought. He hadn’t been famous during Angel’s lifetime, or at all for that matter. Still the book was a favorite of his, though the memories that came with it weren’t that great. He’d killed a local shop keeper that night and had noticed it in the man’s jacket pocket. Though Angelus had never been one to read, he’d kept it as a souvenir because of how brutal the man’s death was. Eventually when Angel had gotten his soul back he’d gotten around to reading it. Once he’d opened it up he hadn’t been able to put it back down.
It was about a young boy growing up in Germany, telling the tale of his mediocre life. Angel suspected it had never gotten popular because it didn’t have much action. This was actually the reason he liked it so much, it told the story of a normal boy trying to grow up and get by. It told of the boy taking care of his family by doing menial tasks around town and eventually having a family of his own. Even though Angel had grown up in Ireland, he still enjoyed the story quite a bit. That night he slept for two or three hours and then spent the remainder of the day reading all the way through the book. It didn’t take him long to finish it and by the time he was done, Katheryn had awoken from her slumber.
That day they spent the time talking, though they didn’t delve into each other’s past much. More or less they just chit chatted and enjoyed their time together. They even watched a bit of television, which was a rare occasion for Angel. Television had never been a favorite of Angel’s, he much preferred books. Still she had wanted to and it was still a good way to spend time together. Even though they didn’t talk to each other much, it was nice just to be around her again. They bonded the entire day and never left each other’s sides. The two of them even made mugs of blood and sat down to drink together, which felt a bit odd to Angel. He’d always eaten alone as he didn’t spend much time if any with others of his kind. Still, the company felt nice to have.
The day went by rather quickly and at one point, he went upstairs to look for Buffy. He had asked her to talk the other night and she’d never come to talk to him. He worried that she didn’t want to, that she had nothing to say. When he didn’t find her in her room, he asked one of the potentials where she was. They told her that she had worked late at the high school and still hadn’t come home. At the time it was around nine o’ clock already and he was beginning to grow a bit worried. Going back downstairs, he waited two more hours before returning to the upper floor. She still hadn’t returned and finally, it registered in his mind where she’d been all night.
Patrolling.
She had most likely gone off patrolling by herself again which really bothered him. He knew that she could handle herself but if she had help, why didn’t she take it? Angel was there for a reason, to help all of them out. He had enjoyed spending the time he’d had with Katheryn but still, he would have liked to gone with the slayer. Katheryn was downstairs reading right now, he had assured her that he wouldn’t be too long.
When the clock rung midnight he took a seat on the couch and continued to wait for Buffy. He was kind of aggravated that she still wasn’t back, she hadn’t even told anyone where she was going. If something happened to her how were they supposed to find her to help her? It was irresponsible and just plain unnecessary. There was an abundance of people in this house who could have gone with her. Even if she’d been really hell bent on going alone, she could have at least left notice of where she was going.
Finally he heard the door knob turning at the front of the house and he stirred in his seat on the couch. When she walked through the door, he was glad that it had been her and not one of the potentials in the house. She strolled into the living room and spotted him, just as he’d spotted her. Their eyes met briefly before his traveled down to the cut on her cheek and then the one on her arm. Standing up he walked over to her quickly, a miffed look on his face. ”What happened? Why did you go off by yourself?” he asked, his voice showing his frustration. Instinctively he reached up to touch her cheek, examining the cut and how deep it was. Thankfully it had already began to heal a bit and would probably be gone in a day or two.

- - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - -The blonde slayer jumped slightly when she heard the voice of her ex lover before realizing who it was. “Jesus Angel, scare the crap out of me! I know you’re a vampire and all but why are you sitting in the dark?” She asked, her heart racing as she took him in. She could tell by the look on his face that he wasn’t happy and for the life of her she couldn’t really understand why. She felt his hand cup her cheek and she noted that he was examining the cut on her cheek, though it wasn’t deep and would be healed by the morning most likely.
His words finally registered and she tilted her head to the side, wondering why he was literally seething at her about going patrolling. “Uh…I worked all day and then had a faculty meeting which ran late so I just went to patrol instead of coming back here to pick up a potential…figured I would give them the night off.” She explained, really not understanding what he was getting at. She usually patrolled by herself these days, though sometimes she would take a potential with her to give them the lay of the land. She knew that most of the potentials wanted to go in groups while they learned but she refused to let that become habit.
She had tried the whole group slaying thing while training the potentials back in Sunnydale and it hadn’t ended well. They depended on each other way too much in battle and that was something that unfortunately as a slayer could be your greatest weakness. You had to depend on nobody but yourself or else you’d lose the fight and most likely your life in a very short period of time. She had learned that the hard way and had learned quickly to depend on herself in a fight.
That wasn’t to say that she didn’t still take them every once in awhile in a group so they knew how to fight side by side. She had learned more about fighting while patrolling with Angel (and later Spike) than she had through a lot of training, but again, the potentials needed to know how to rely on themselves and their weapons before relying on someone else. In the real world there wouldn’t always be someone next to you ready to jump in to save your life…and you had to be ready for that.
Buffy shook her head, trying to bring herself back to the present where she had one ticked off broody vampire standing in front of her, looking like he was waiting for an explanation that she really had no idea how to give. Again, she patrolled by herself all the time and this was nothing new.
“Besides, I called Willow and talked to her earlier and told her that I was going to have to head out right after the faculty meeting since all the women there tend to check out all the men and they use it as a dating service instead of a meeting, so the meetings always run late.” She told him, stripping out of her jacket, leaving her in a tshirt and her dress pants. Next she leaned down and took her boots off, sighing in relief when her bare feet hit the carpeting. She was used to patrolling in heels but those definitely where not the ones she wanted to patrol in for awhile…definitely not comfortable and hadn’t been broken in.
“So how was your day?” She asked, hoping to break the tension though having a feeling it wasn’t going to work so well.

Obviously he had startled her but that didn’t really bother him, he wasn’t worried about scaring her. When she asked why he’d been sitting in the dark he simply looked around with a stunned look on his face. ”I didn’t even notice they were off..” he explained about the lights. Snapping back to her eyes and focusing on them, he made sure to regain his previous miffed look. He didn’t want her to change the subject off of what he really wanted to talk about. The way that she didn’t seem too worried about his frustration really bugged him. After examining his cut, he let his hand drop down to his side.
As she titled her head and tried to explain, he listened even though he was kind of pissed off at the moment. When she gave the excuse of working late, his eyes immediately glared down into hers. ”And you didn’t think to at least let me know? What the hell am I here for Buffy” he told her, angrily motioning with his hands and throwing them up in the air. His emotions were certainly getting the best of him but right now in the moment he didn’t particularly care. Usually he was able to keep a cool demeanor but not tonight, not right now, not with her.
Something else was certainly bothering him and he suspected this was why he was so upset. The other night he’d ask Buffy if they could talk and she hadn’t seen him since. He understood that she had to go to work but she could have at least stopped by before she’d left. She knew that he rarely slept and was probably awake and still, she hadn’t even made the effort to say hello. It was almost as if she had been avoiding him and didn’t want to talk which really bothered him. He just wanted to figure things out, what he was here for and how long she intended for him to stay. Plus he also just wanted to know if there was a way for them to be friends, to be companions again even though they couldn’t be together. The fact that she hadn’t seen it as a priority to hear him out slightly angered him but he tried to hold it back for the most part.
Realizing that he had had quite the little outburst, he tried to calm himself down a bit. Not wanting to look her in the eye, he instead looked down at the floor. His eyes flickered back and forth around the living room but didn’t want to meet with hers. Quite honestly, he was a bit embarrassed at his outburst even though he felt it had been warranted by her actions. Sure, he probably should have given her a bit more time other than just one day. Still he felt like it had been extremely important to him and not her at all, as if she didn’t even want to talk to him.
Again she began giving him more excuses and finally after she was finished, his eyes looked back up to meet hers as he watched her remove her shoes. ”Dating service?... he asked, his voice sounding unsure and maybe even slightly jealous. She had said that the other women did this so he knew that she didn’t. Still, it had definitely caught his attention. Buffy was the most beautiful woman he’d ever known and he knew other men probably caught her attention. Now he found himself wondering if she had been dating someone recently or had a certain someone in mind. He knew that he didn’t really want to know deep down because if she was, it’d hurt him. Still, he couldn’t help but sound interested.
Typical Buffy, trying to change the subject to avoid conflict. It had been a habitual practice of hers and by now, he knew that it was a defense mechanism of hers. Not only did she not want to fight but she also didn’t want the fight focused on her, she didn’t like the feeling of having him angry with her. Likewise Angel didn’t like being angry at her and so he tried to calm down a bit, though his muscles remained tense. ”Fine” he told her sternly, his jaw clenched as he spoke. Finally, he decided to just get everything out on the table and in the open. If he didn’t say it now, he probably never would. ”What are we?” he blurted out, ”really Buffy. What are we?” he asked, his voice full of demand. He knew what he wanted them to be, even if it wasn’t right. As soon as he’d began speaking the words, he’d moved closer to her so that he was directly in front of her now. If he moved any closer, she would have been backed against the wall. -------------------------------------------- Tag: Buffy Word count: 809 Notes: Shit just hit the fan.

- - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - -She rolled her eyes at Angel’s typical response of not knowing that the lights were off. This didn’t really surprise her since Angel’s vision was literally almost perfect. It was part of being a predator…he could see just as well at night as he could in the day, hell better since technically he couldn’t actually go out during the day. However either way the fact that he had been sitting in the dark didn’t really surprise her. She had caught him doing that several times at the mansion and at his old apartment, though the apartment usually had more lights on than the mansion did.
Her eyes widened when she heard Angel’s outburst of not letting him know where she was and asking why the hell he was there. “Okay, first of all, calm down Angel.” She told him, putting her hand on his arm to try and calm him down. “First of all, I’m sorry I didn’t tell you where I was. I went downstairs before I left this morning but I heard you and Kathy talking and I didn’t want to interrupt. I thought about telling one of the girls to tell you that I was at work but I figured that they wouldn’t want to go downstairs and bother two possibly sleeping vampires so I figured I would let you know when I got home. I didn’t realize that the faculty meeting was going to go so late and then when I called Willow I thought she was home. I’m sorry that I didn’t check in…I’ll try to be better about that.” She told him, though in reality she thought he was over reacting just a tad. Okay, so he was massively over reacting. However she didn’t feel like fighting with him so she figured she would try and pacify him. An angry vampire ex boyfriend wasn’t something she really wanted to deal with tonight.
“As for why you’re here Angel…you’re here because you want to be here…and I want you here.” She told him, her voice quieting as she admitted this. “You mean more to me than most people in my life…and I’m not going to say otherwise. You’re here because this is where you belong…it’s where you’ve always belonged you just didn’t see it.” She told him, her eyes looking up into his, her hazel ones meeting his deep brown ones. She needed him to understand what she was saying, but she had a feeling she was going to have to spell it out for him. Angel wasn’t one to talk about emotions, he never had been, but she knew that if she started the conversation that he would engage in it. A similar conversation arose to her mind and for a moment she almost let out a smile.
Well you're not exactly Joe-here's what I'm thinking. So ask me. Oh, but that woulda made sense. What do you wanna know about? Faith? How I felt kissing her, pretending to have no soul? Watching you suffer? Well, since you bring it up... I hated hurting you...more than I could stand. Look, the thing about Faith, I'd understand. You know, she has, you know, that whole bad girl thing working for her. Kissing her meant nothing. I don't want a bad girl. I've done that before. I've lived a long time Buffy, and I'm past that. I've been with dozens of girls like her. More. Oh, this honest stuff is fun. I mean, there's no comparison. In two hundred and forty three years, I've loved exactly one person. Ohh...it is me right? Next time, just ask.
The conversation was similar to her thoughts but before she could say anything, surprisingly Angel did. She felt him almost stalk towards her and for a moment her slayer instincts tried to take over, but she took a deep breath and calmed herself, reminding herself once more that this wasn’t a predator stalking its pray, it was Angel…stalking her.
His questions stunned her into silence and that was definitely a first. She usually could find something, anything, to say to anyone. She always had a quick mind and always with the quick wit. However right now she was stunned. What where they? How was she supposed to know? He was the older one…why couldn’t he answer that. Okay, she knew he wanted, no, needed an answer, but she wasn’t sure which one to give.
“What are we? Or do I want us to be?” She asked him, her eyes looking down for a moment before turning up and searching out his own. “My wants, my desires, they’ve never changed Angel. I have loved you since I was 16. That’s never changed. I know realistically we can’t be together…but does that stop me from wanting it? No. Do you know what I would like to do right now? Sit on that couch and curl up with you and read a book or watch some mindless tv…maybe lean up for a kiss or two during commercials. That’s what I want us to be.” She told him, her eyes shown with truth.
“What we actually are…I don’t know if there’s a word for it. I know you’re my soul-mate…I know that I love you more than I can say…and I consider you a part of my family. Friend is too easy of a word…because Xander’s my friend…Andrew’s my friend…Satsu’s my friend…Willow’s my friend…you’re so much more. But you’re not my lover, and you’re not my boyfriend…because you made that choice. And I’m not trying to lay blame because there is no blame, not anymore. But don’t forget, you’re the one who ended it…not me. And I understand your reasons…but you know I never agreed with them. It’s been 5 years since we broke up Angel…and I’ve tried to move on. You told me you wanted me to be with someone who could take me into the sunlight…I tried. It sucked. You said you wanted me to be with someone who could have children with me. I wouldn’t bring kids into my life…and those answers I gave you when I was 18. My answers have never changed. So you ask me what we are…why don’t you ask yourself what you want…and what you can handle. Because this isn’t up to me…it was never up to me. You made the decisions back then, and I’m allowing you to make the decisions now. Because I’ve laid it out on the table…it’s your turn.” She stated, waiting for a response.

--------------------------------------------
Again he found himself growing slightly annoyed when he seen her roll her eyes. She had the tendency to do that a lot, she had ever since he’d known her. Usually he found it endearing but right now he wasn’t in the mood for it. He really hadn’t noticed the lights being on, he didn’t need them. Vampires could only go outside during night time. They never seen the sun, so they would eventually grow more and more used to the darkness. It didn’t take long and before you know it, most could see perfectly in the night time. This was why bright lights tend to hurt vampires eyes. Not because it hurts them physically but only because they’re simply not used to it. Angel missed the sun, the warmth that it brought. He hadn’t seen it in a long while, since his lost day with Buffy where he’d become human.
Thinking about that day made him feel dead inside. Thinking about how they were finally able to be together, to really be together. Not only emotionally but physically as well without worrying about his soul. She had been able to lie against him and actually hear a heartbeat, she no longer had to lie on his cold chest. They had spent most of the day in bed. Not only enjoying each other’s company but enjoying actually being a real couple for once. Both of them could finally entertain the thought of truly getting married someday and having a family between the two of them. Later that day, they became aware of the consequences and Angel was forced to take it back. The memory was stripped from Buffy’s memory and sometimes he wished it’d been stripped from his as well. Knowing what he could have had and now never would hurt more than he thought he could handle sometimes.
Calm down? She acted like he was flipping out and turning over tables. Sure he was a little upset and his tone sounded a bit angry but he wasn’t freaking out. He was perfectly in control right now of his emotions, as he almost always his. Angel had never been one to completely let go of his emotions, though he had a select few times. For one when Buffy had died a few years back, another when he’d tried to kill himself on the bluff back in Sunnydale. That night he had let them get the best of him and his fear of losing control had ended up causing a self fulfilling prophecy.
He continued to listen as she went on about why she hadn’t told him where she’d gone. Now that he had thought about it for a moment, he realized he truly had no reason to be upset. Even if they’d been together once they weren’t now and he didn’t have the right to ask such things of her. ”No – I’m sorry. I have no right to act like this. It’s not like we’re –“ and before he finished what he was going to say, he just stopped. He didn’t want to finish and say that it’s not like they’re together, for he didn’t want to hurt her if he didn’t have to. ”I just shouldn’t have overreacted, it’s not my place anymore. I was just worried” he then finished, hoping that this would suffice as an apology. He was still a little bit miffed about the situation but he didn’t want to take it any further.
I want you here
The words that the slayer spoke to him hit him like a ton of bricks. It was everything that he’d wanted to hear but didn’t think he would. It was everything that he’d been longing to hear. Knowing that she really did want him here and even though she didn’t express it, that she needed him. It had been a long time since he’d heard her say it. She was also one of the most important people in her life. Until Katheryn had made herself known, Buffy had been the most important person to him. Now that he had Katheryn they were both equally as important to him, though in different ways. His sister would always be family though and family did mean a lot to him. In a way, he wished they could all just be family.
He noticed that she seemed quite shocked to hear his question. She must not have been expecting it, and why should she have been? They hadn’t talked about it since his last night in Sunnydale when she’d made the cookie dough speech. Since then, they had only recently seen each other and had avoided the talk. His heart broke when he heard his response. He wanted to burst out and tell him that his feelings had never changed as well but he didn’t. Right now, he only listened. He would let her finish what she had to say and he didn’t want to interrupt, didn’t want to stop her thought process.
The love of his life finally finished, leaving all of the decisions to him. He knew what he wanted but he also knew that he couldn’t have it. He couldn’t have her, things with his soul and his condition hadn’t changed no matter how much he wished they had. He took another step closer to her, now as close as humanly possible. They were so close indeed that their noses were almost touching, he could feel her breath on him. ”I want…you, I’ve always only wanted you” he told her softly. He then took her into his arms, gripping her tightly and met his lips with hers. His passion was unmatched by anyone he’d ever seen as he kissed her. All of his emotions that he’d held in for long began to show with his kiss. He didn’t know what to say so he simply showed her how he felt in this way. What would become of them he didn’t know. What he did know was that he had missed her, he had missed kissing her and holding her.

atheryn 'Kathy' Anne O'Connor was bored. Her and her older brother had spent the whole day together simply hanging out, watching television, reading, and making small chit chat between the two. They hadn’t really gotten to delve into deep conversation today being that there were a lot of people going in and out of the house and Kathy really didn’t feel comfortable getting into her life story with so many people around. She also had a feeling her brother was going to blow up at a few different times in her life so she figured it would probably be best to wait until they were alone to tell him the things that had gone on since that fateful night in Ireland over two hundred years ago. So instead of making them both uncomfortable they had made a mutual decision to stay away from the larger, deeper topics and instead simply chat about random things. She didn’t know how he had spent his past two hundred years and he didn’t know how she spent hers. It was an empty happiness that she felt until they really got in touch with their inner feelings and what not, but it was the best they could do at the moment. However as the sun set her brother got more and more antsy. She had a feeling it had to do with the girl that he seemed to love hadn’t come home and as it got later and later she noticed even his leg had started to bounce…which was random since technically as vampires they really didn’t usually fidget. Either way she tried to keep in the laugh she desperately wanted to let out as she watched her brother look at the clock and then at the staircase constantly. He had to be in love, he just had to be. Finally he told her that he was going to head upstairs and try and figure out what was going on, code for that he was going to wrangle it out of someone where the blonde girl had gone. She waited until almost midnight before hearing the door open and then hearing her brother’s voice from downstairs. She tried not to eavesdrop but it was a bit hard since she had superior hearing. Finally talking seemed to silence so she went upstairs to leave for a walk. She didn’t get out during the day and she wasn’t used to being cooped up at night, and she herself was getting a bit antsy. Unfortunately she hadn’t thought about the reason that there had been silence. As she walked upstairs her mouth dropped as she came across her brother literally mauling the poor blonde girl, though it looked like she was giving as good as she got. Kathy let out a loud squeak and immediately covered her eyes, not wanting to see anyone in that position, but especially not her brother. She wasn’t sure what to do, should she walk away, run past, or simply stand there like a moron with her hand over her eyes and her mouth open. Yep, that seemed to be the safest bet since she currently couldn’t bring herself to move. Word Count- 547 Tag- Buffy & Angel Outfit- Click here to view Kathy’s outfit. - - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - -She was shocked by his response, she wouldn’t lie. She had been mentally preparing herself for another talk like the ones that they had had in the sewer in Sunnydale and then the other one on the forgotten day that she wasn’t technically supposed to remember but did anyway thanks to her time in heaven. She could still remember her heart breaking as she heard the words that she had always dreaded right before prom, saying that he was leaving and they couldn’t be together any longer. She knew now that it was for the best as they were getting closer and closer to breaking the curse…but it still didn’t mean that she agreed with his decision.
So as she stood there, mentally preparing herself for her heart to be ripped out of her chest…again…his words shocked her. However his actions shocked her more. Before she could even think to respond to his comment about always wanting her, she felt his arms grip hers and literally push her up against the wall before his lips were on hers. Okay, she was wrong, she hadn’t been to heaven, as this was heaven. There was no way anything could compare to the feeling of his body against hers and his lips pressed up against hers.
Her arms tangled themselves around his neck, gripping the back of his hair and tugging on it as she tried to get as close as possible to him. They hadn’t kissed in almost a year and before that it had been about the same amount of time. How had she let him walk away from her all those times? How had he let himself walk away. She made a decision (which was pretty hard considering she was lost in the kiss of her life at the moment) that she wasn’t going to let him talk himself out of this. She didn’t care if she had to chain him to a chair to make him listen…she’d do it.
She stood on her tip toes, trying to get as close as possible. She was glad they were currently up against the wall because with the passion flowing easily through her (and from the feel of it him) they would be headed into dangerous territory if they were anywhere near a couch or a bed. She made another mental note to ask Willow to attempt to find something about his curse somewhere in all the very large books she had brought with her from Rome. There had to be a way to make it to where Angelus could never appear, and she would stop at nothing to find that way. It wasn’t fair to Angel to live with the constant fear of happiness just because of his sadistic demon. She would do it for him…she would do it for them.
A soft sigh escaped her as she continued to stand in the arms of her true love until a sound from behind her made her wrench her mouth away from her former lovers. She looked over and saw Angel’s younger sister standing there, a mortified look on her face. Buffy wrenched herself away from Angel so hard that she literally crashed down next to them in a heap on the floor. “Sonofa...” She started to say before catching herself and shaking her head. “Uh…I gotta go…patrol.” She stated with a squeak before blushing bright red and heading towards the door, letting Angel deal with his younger sister and her sure to be myriad of questions. She was too confused to handle things right now, so instead she’d go patrol.
Even though she had already done that once tonight. Damn.

The meeting of both of their lips was like fireworks. Everything that had happened between them in the past, all the pain that they’d gone through, none of it mattered right now. Right now the only thing that either of them cared about was each other. It had been so long since he’d felt her lips, he missed them. They were the softest things he’d ever touched, almost like silk against his own lips. Their kisses were so gentle and yet so passionate between the two of them. Everything else in the room just seemed to float away and after that, they were the only things left.
His eyes were closed shut but he opened them after a moment to look at her, to see her beautiful face. Everything about her was completely flawless, though if he told her that, she’d probably disagree with him. She was the most beautiful woman he’d ever known and every time he looked into her eyes he wished he could be with her so badly. To think that she had allowed Spike to kiss these same lips hurt him, though he never told her that aloud. He knew that she had probably assumed this on her own or inferred it when he’d made comments about the peroxide-haired vampire. This didn’t matter right now though and he tried to push every negative thought out of his mind.
The slayer then tugged on his hair to pull him closer and he obliged, pressing his body into hers. The longer they continued to kiss, the harder and more passionate his kisses grew. Soon he stopped breaking in between them and they all became one fluid motion, never leaving her lips at all. His tongue pushed past her lips begging for entrance and she met his tongue with hers, allowing them to dance together as they kissed. She made a soft sigh and it only made him kiss her harder, pressing his body more and more against her. He knew that he should stop and get away from her but he couldn’t, he didn’t want to. It would only lead to bad things and both of them knew this but neither of them cared at the moment.
After a couple minutes of this he felt her lips part with his and he looked up to look at her, wondering why she had broken their kiss. Had she finally come to her senses? Was she regretting the kiss? His brown eyes looked to hers when she first pulled away, showing hurt in his eyes. She pulled away so quickly and roughly that she landed on the ground. He leaned down and put a hand on her elbow, helping her stand up and then his eyes moved to where she was looking at. Standing in the doorway he saw Katheryn, covering her eyes to avoid the scene in front of her. God dammit he thought to himself, what were the chances? The one time he decides to give in to his temptations, he does it right in front of his little sister. He felt terrible that she’d had to see that as obviously, she hadn’t been expecting to see it.
Buffy then made a quick escape, notifying them that she was going patrolling. She had just gotten back from patrolling but obviously, she had just wanted to get away from the situation. He left her leave without stopping her and assumed they’d talk later, right now he knew he needed to talk to his sister. Silently he walked over to her and kneeled down in front of her. He didn’t know why he always did this but he always had. After all, Angel was over six feet tall and he felt like he towered over her. ”Hey…I’m sorry that you had to see that, I – I wasn’t expecting you to come up here.” It was obvious that he felt kind of awkward talking to her about this but he knew that he had to. Something had to be said, he couldn’t just walk away like Buffy had. His head tilted to the side and with one of his hands, he reached out and tucked some of her hair behind her ear. ”Are you okay?” he asked her sweetly, sincerely fearing that he had traumatized her somehow. She may have been two hundred years old but to him, she was still his baby sister and she always would be. atheryn 'Kathy' Anne O'Connor was shocked. Okay, so her older brother was older than her and it wasn’t like he had been a lemur when he had been human. She had heard the rumors, stories, and arguing between her father and brother about his conquests over the years before they had both been killed, so really seeing him like that shouldn’t have been a shock…but it was. She wasn’t used to seeing her brother in that position, hell she wasn’t used to seeing her brother period and then to see him almost on top of a girl that she had just met the day before? Yeah, it was a bit weird. Over the years Liam had kept his conquests away from her…saying that he’d only introduce her to a girl if she was the one. And obviously he hadn’t met ‘the one’ when he had been human, though she wondered if he had met her after he had been turned and if it was the blonde girl that he had introduced her to the night before. She hoped so, as she really did like her…she seemed sweet, protective and seemed to really care for her brother, which was something that she definitely could get used to. She moved her hand away from her eyes as she heard the tell tale signs of the door closing and she met her older brother’s dark brown eyes. “Uh…Hi?” She asked in her high pitched childish voice. She waited until he kneeled down in front of her before giving him a sweet smile. “Sorry, I didn’t mean to interrupt.” She told him, her voice innocent in its childlike tone but still worldly in knowing exactly what she had interrupted. She hated that she had interrupted a private moment between the two but was glad she came up when she did…goodness knows what she would have seen if she hadn’t. Kathy smiled at her big brother and shook her head. “No, I’m sorry. I didn’t hear anymore talking so I figured I would come up and make sure everything was okay. Didn’t realize you two were…uh…busy.” She told him with a giggle before covering her mouth to hide it. She let out another giggle before falling to the floor and giggling harder, her childlike laugh sounding like bells. “Sorry Liam, but your face was so funny.” She told him smiling. “Should you go after her? Or will she be okay?” She asked, hoping she hadn’t made the older girl mad. Word Count- 464 Tag- Buffy & Angel Outfit- Click here to view Kathy’s outfit. - - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - -She couldn’t believe what had just happened! When she woke up that morning she had thought that today was going to be just another day. Get up, take a shower, straighten her hair, do her makeup, get dressed, go to work, deal with stupid faculty meeting, come home for dinner, go out patrol, come home and go to bed. That was what she had expected as she woke up that morning! However her day had been nothing of the normal…not at all. She had been running late that morning so hadn’t had time for breakfast or a cup of coffee…and had to do her makeup once she had gotten to her office. The faculty meeting ran late meaning that she hadn’t eaten anything all day and had patrolled until after midnight. Then when she got home her life went to crazy land as Angel decided he wanted to have an open conversation about their relationship and then he kisses her!? Okay, had Angel lost his mind?!
A thought ran through her mind and her eyes widened as her heart started racing. Oh god, what if it wasn’t his mind that he had lost…what if it was something else. What if he had lost not his mind…but his soul. Oh god…no…no…no! She couldn’t handle that again…not again. No, she couldn’t stand to watch her lover torment those she cared about and she couldn’t even begin to think about trying to kill him again. The first time had nearly destroyed her and it would be even harder this time with Kathy in the picture. She made a mental note to make sure to keep Kathy with her at all times if something ever happened to Angel…she knew that’s what he would have wanted.
She turned around, not realizing she had walked over a mile in the time that she had been away. She quickly sprinted back towards the house, not wanting anymore time to pass as she wasn’t there to protect the little girl. She knew that if Angelus truly was back he would waste no time in hurting Kathy just to agonize his soul. She hated the monster that wore her true loves face and if she ever came into contact with him again she’d gladly punch him repeatedly for a day and a half or so until she could figure out a way to get Angel back. However right now she simply needed to get back to the house and make sure Kathy was alright.
Buffy wasn’t sure why she was so protective over the little girl but she had come to a feel a fierce protectiveness over her and she really didn’t even know her that well. Maybe it was because she looked so much like Angel, maybe it was because she reminded her of Dawn when she was little…or maybe because she could see not only Angel…but herself in her eyes. She knew it was a weird thought being that in all actuality Kathy was over 200 years older than her, but she could see a vulnerable child in her eyes just desperate for love.
The slayer ran up the drive way and busted into the house, seeing Angel kneeling in front of Kathy. “Kathy, come here sweetheart.” She told her sweetly, not letting on to the fact that she didn’t trust Angel’s face in that moment. Once Kathy walked over to her she stood in between the two siblings and stalked over to Angel, grabbing his arm and pulling him up. “Look at me.” She told him fiercely before looking him straight in the eyes, praying she would see the guilt and love she had gotten used to seeing over the years. She would break if she saw the calculating look that she had known too well over those few months of hell.

--------------------------------------------
The look in the child's eyes killed him and he hated that he'd been the cause of this. It wasn't that he'd broken her or anything, she'd be fine, he was sure of that. He was just upset that he hadn't been more careful and aware of his actions. Not only did he have himself to worry about, but now he was responsible for her as well. His actions needed to be thought about prior to being done, they needed to take Katheryn into consideration now. Previously he'd only needed to worry about himself and of course his friends, mainly only himself. Now he was responsible for this innocent child, his own sister. He was glad to have her around though and he felt bad that she'd had to witness him like that, witness him being weak.
Once his sister realized that he was standing there, she removed the hands from her eyes. Her voice seemed like she was shocked or at least surprised to see what she'd had to see. Honestly, he couldn't blame her one bit. Even he was surprised at his own actions and he suspected that Buffy had been as well. "Hi" he replied quietly, a small smile creeping along his handsome features. Angel had never smiled so much in his life as he'd been smiling since she'd come into it. Usually, seeing a smile from Angel was a rare occasion. Now, all it took was a look from his baby sister and a smile was tugging at his cheeks. As soon as he smiled, she did as well and he felt his heart warm. His heart may be dead and cold but when she was around, he didn't even notice. "You didn't interrupt anything...I promise" he told her, after shaking his head to disagree, trying to ease her. He didn't want her to feel bad about coming in the room on him and Buffy. How was she supposed to know that they would be giving in to their temptations like that? He had to admit, he'd given into to his desires even though he knew that he shouldn't have. Buffy had always been a weakness for him and tonight hadn't been any different. He knew that he should be setting a better example than this and for that, he felt badly. However, he didn't feel badly for how he'd acted. He may have felt guilty about giving in to his weakness, but he'd meant what he'd said. Not only that, but he'd wanted to kiss her. He probably shouldn't have and he knew that, but that didn't make it wrong. As soon as his baby sister noted that they had been 'busy' he tried to shake off that image. Not of Buffy and himself, but of his sister seeing them kissing like that. Not only had they been kissing, but they'd been furiously kissing. Her little giggle erupted as he told him how funny his face had been. She collapsed on the floor having a bit of a giggling fit and he couldn't help but laugh himself. Not only did he laugh, but he reached down and tickled her sides a bit which made her laugh even harder. "Oh really? It was funny, huh?" he told her, now laughing quite heartily himself. He continued to tickle her until finally she stopped squeeling and sat up to talk to him again. It was such a strange picture, Angel tickling and laughing with his little sister like that. If anyone had been around to see it, they wouldn't have known what to think. Even though he hadn't acted like that in a long time he knew it wasn't really abnormal for him. Back when the two of them had been alive together, they had frequently played like this. "She'll be okay, she always is" he told her softly, the smile disappearing from his face slowly as the two of them gathering their composure. Surprisingly enough just after they had been talking about her, Buffy walked back through the door. She hadn't been gone more than ten minutes and already she was coming back inside. Not only was she coming inside, she was busting through the door like a wild woman. His eyes went side as she busted into the room and called Kathy away from him. He looked at her confused, his eyes searching hers for an explanation. The slayer then stuck herself between him and his sister and cautiously moved up closer to him, lifting him off the ground with minimal force. With a determined look on her face, Buffy looked him in the eyes and demanded that he did the same. He did and as he did, he realized why she was doing this. Realized why she'd moved Kathy away and stood between the siblings. For some reason that he was unsure of, she thought that he was Angelus. That for some reason he'd lost his soul either tonight or whenever, and that it really wasn't him. His deep, dark brown eyes stared back into hers desperately hoping that she'd realize her mistake. "It's me" he told her softly, hoping that she'd believe him and see through his eyes to his soul.[/blockquote] -------------------------------------------- Tag: Buffy Word count: 893 Notes: ----

atheryn 'Kathy' Anne O'Connor giggled. Her older brother’s smile was something that she hadn’t seen in a long time. Sure he had given her a few small smiles since she had reappeared in his life a mere thirty six hours ago or so, but this was different. This was the smile that she had known from their human days…the smile that lit up his entire face. She wondered briefly what guilt he harbored that forced him to keep his beautiful smiles to a minimum but then after remembering the demon who wore his face and ended her all to short life, she thought that maybe…just maybe…she didn’t want to know. As she had fallen she felt his nimble fingers dig into her sides as he tickled her and she shrieked, giggling even more and playfully batting at him, begging him to stop while still giggling so it was quite clear that she was enjoying herself. Tears fell down her cheeks from laughter and she would have gladly let it go on for hours had she not been out of breath…which was ironic since technically she didn’t have to breathe, but that was neither here or there. Liam finally let up and she took a deep breath before sitting up, leaning against him a bit. “You should smile and laugh more.” She told him bluntly, but not unkindly, her small voice sounding more like a 5 year olds than her actual 11 year old age. “Your face lights up when you do, it makes you even more handsome.” She told him and leaned up to pinch his cheek, just as she had always done when they had been humans. She had always teased him about how pretty his face was, to which he would always say something along the lines of ‘Aye Lass, pretty is for the women, I’m handsome’ or something along those lines, to which she always rolled her eyes and started a tickle war. However either way it made her feel like not as much time had passed when she fell easily back into old habits that she liked. Her hand fell from his cheek when she heard the door wrench open and she saw the blonde girl who had been kissing her brother only an hour before run in, seemingly a bit freaked out. She was surprised when she was called away from her brother. She shot him a look before standing and walking slowly over to the tense girl. Before she could ask what she needed the older girl put herself in between her and her brother and then actually dragged him up off the floor. She heard her state for him to look at her and she seemed to be doing something that only those two understood. Her brother’s face went soft as he bore into the older girls’ eyes and replied that it was him. Okay, now Kathy was an intelligent girl, but she had no idea what had just taken place, but it seemed as if those two could reach other’s minds…so she decided to be the annoying little sister that she technically was and break the staring contest. “Okay, do you have some vampire/slayer special power that I don’t know about because seeing you two read one another’s mind is sort of freaky, not gonna lie.” She stated in her childlike voice, grinning as she did so in order to show that she was kidding. - - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - -Buffy looked into the eyes of the man she loved, and then heard his voice state that it was him. She continued to stare into his eyes and saw the pronounced love, passion, sympathy and guilt that seemed to always accompany him when he looked at her. It was almost as if she could see clearly into his soul, though she knew that if she actually said it out loud it would sound ungodly cheesy. She almost sagged into him in relief, thanking anything above that she had been wrong and that he hadn’t lost his soul. She took a deep breath, not wanting to let him go but knowing that she was causing a bit of a scene so she gave him a final squeeze before standing straight again, allowing her full height to show through though it wasn’t much being that she was only 5’4.
She heard Kathy’s voice behind her saying that they were creepy as they could read each other’s minds and the slayer laughed a bit. She knew that it was probably odd for someone who had never seen Angel and her interact before to see them have one of their silent conversations. She knew that it used to freak Willow and Xander out back in Sunnydale when they would communicate about all sorts of things with just a look. It could have been a vampire, a demon, a weapon, or simply a ‘see you tomorrow’. Buffy had always wished that she could read his mind but had never had the opportunity, even when she was actively reading minds. Yeah, that was a fail right there, she could still remember.
Her memory pulled at her as she remembered hearing that in 243 years Angel had loved only one person, and she wanted so desperately at that moment to ask him if that had changed but she didn’t, knowing that it wasn’t the place for that particular conversation, especially not in front of his younger sister. She knew they needed to talk, being that they had just had a serious make out session that showed no intentions on stopping had it not been for their interruption. However how could she really bring that up again? Well, she would, as that was just her way, but she’d wait a bit, instead focusing her attention back on the young girl in the room with them.
“Nah, we just know each other extremely well.” She told her, turning the face the small child that was her former lover’s younger sister and almost daughter it seemed. “Either that or I’m just extremely predictable…either one works I suppose.” She stated with a mock distressed sigh and a shrug of her slim shoulders. She knew she wasn’t predictable for the most part but it was still fun to pretend. She was all about mocking herself if the situation called for it and it usually did being that she tended to make some very mockable decisions and had done so a lot over the years.
“Anyway…” She stated awkwardly before rolling her eyes and sighing, looking at Kathy once more. “I’m sorry you had to see that.” She told her apologetically. “I honestly should have been listening for anyone but you’re quiet as a mouse and I didn’t hear you. You remind me of my younger sister, she could sneak up on me without even trying and used to scare the hell out of me. It was a fun past time of hers.” She told her with a laugh, hoping the awkwardness would clear up as she hated for things to be awkward, but especially around two people that she cared about.

Seeing Katheryn laugh so hard that she literally began crying just melted his heart. Un-dead or not, he couldn't help but be overjoyed to see her like this. She deserved it after all that she had been through. All of the pain she'd seen and the loss she'd been through, especially at such a young age. No matter how old she was he would always consider her his baby sister. Vampire or not, she was still innocent and pure to him and he hoped that he could protect that. Maintain it and keep her the same child she'd always been. The mere fact that she'd been able to hold on to her soul said wonders about her.
In a way, he sometimes felt more like a father to her than a brother. Since their own father had been a drunk who was almost never home, and when he was home yelled at the both of them constantly, he had sort of taken on that roll. He wasn't exactly a great model for her either but it was better than nothing. "I'm sure people will see me smile a lot more with you around" he told her sweetly. Though when he said it, he didn't smile as he wanted her to know that he truly meant it. His serious expression didn't last long as he then began laughing again as he went back to tickling her. Their short time together came to an end when Buffy looked into his eyes, checking for his soul. His sister had picked up on their closeness as she spoke of them reading each other's mind. Honestly he couldn't disagree with this. Buffy and himself didn't have to communicate with words, they knew each other too well. Simply looking into each other's eyes they could get their points across and almost have a silent conversation. "You're far from predictable" he told the slayer flatly. Obviously he was still a bit peeved that she'd gone back after the vampires the other night, though he wasn't going to bring it up unless she did. He knew that she most likely wasn't going to so he assumed that he'd just leave it alone for now. One thing that he couldn't leave alone was what had just happened only moments ago, in this very room. The two of them had given in to some of their temptations and had kissed. If you wanted to get technical, they'd gone a bit past kissing and had been getting pretty heavy. It was unlike them to do such a thing nowadays. Since they'd been apart, they'd learned to be more weary around each other. Both of them knew what the boundaries were and that they couldn't cross them, not anymore. Still, they obviously had and more so, they had in front of his sister. Sometime when Katheryn wasn't around and was sleeping or something, he knew they'd have to talk about it. Honestly he was slightly anxious just thinking about it, thinking about owning up to his actions and his feelings. The blonde then apologized to Katheryn as he had only moments before she'd busted into the room. He was sure by now that Katheryn understood that they hadn't meant for it to happen, that it shouldn't have happened. He was still debating whether or not it should have happened honestly, though he knew deep down and just didn't want to admit it. "It won't happen again" he replied quietly to her, adding on to Buffy's apology. Silently he looked to Buffy as he said this. It wasn't that he was telling her they'd never kiss again or wouldn't talk, it was more of an unsure look on his handsome features. He then turned to Katheryn and offered a soft smile. It was so soft that it was barely noticeable, yet he knew she would see it.
