- - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - -She sighed as she finished lacing up her boots. It was the first night she had taken Dawn and Willow patrolling with her since they had gotten to Mystic Falls. Dawn had arrived a few days after her and Willow because of a problem in Rome that Giles needed help with…and Willow had been busy with getting the house situated and making sure that their computers were set up (they had finally gotten there after weeks of waiting). She wasn’t sure if she was comfortable with taking the two girls out patrolling with her, but she didn’t have a choice in the matter. She had promised both of them weeks ago, and had yet to fulfill that promise.
She was worried about the way things were going in the small town of Mystic Falls. It was weird…different in a way she wasn’t used too. Back in Sunnydale, most people knew about demons, but they pretended they didn’t. They all (for the most part) saw things that were unbelievable…a lot of them had been rescued by her from one thing or another. Hell, one year a lot of them had been turned into their Halloween costumes for gods sake, and yet, no one really commented on it. No one really ever made it known that they were well aware that vampires and demons existed. How many classmates had the watched die? How many times had bodies been dumped on school grounds? Hell how many graduations do you know of that the mayor turns into a big snake, eats the president, the entire graduating class teams together in order to kill the mayor and then the librarian blows up the school? None, except Sunnydale High School that is (before the town itself was blown up).
However even after the school was blown up, people acted oblivious. There were students that they went to high school with who pretended that nothing had happened. They went along with a strange story as to why the school had suddenly got blown up and why all the high school students were being shipped out of district to other schools until the city council could come up with the funds to rebuild. Selective memory was a staple of living in Sunnydale California…and while at the time it annoyed her greatly, she missed it desperately after living in Mystic Falls Virginia for a week.
Here it was different. In Mystic Falls she had seen two members of the police department with guns that shot wooden bullets and stakes attached to their belt. It was creepy in a way that she needed to be careful. She knew that she looked suspicious a lot of the time. Tooling around the cemetery at night carrying a stake? Definitely looked suspicious of the highest order. She was also a new person, which was something to make her stick out even more in a town where people’s ancestors were older than Angel.
That was also another concern of hers. Angel was a vampire, and not one that could walk around in the day (as rumors were circulating that there were vampires around that had the ability to walk around in daylight). She had to make sure he was careful. A part of her brain screamed at her, begging her to tell him to leave. To go back to Los Angeles where he was safe. She knew she should, she knew that she desperately needed to think about his safety. However she was selfish and wanted to spend a bit of time with him before she sent him home.
She sighed and finished getting ready before heading down the stairs, needing to get a move on. “If you two aren’t ready by now you’re staying here.” She called out, grabbing her stake and her jacket and heading out the door, waiting on the porch for the two of them to hurry up.

Dawn loved her combat boots, they were rather comfortable which was nice. After Dawn got her boots up and laced she raced out the door with her jacket in hand, she had been waiting for SOME action since she got here, this town was boring when cooped up in a house all the time so it was nice to finally get out. Plus she got to spend actual bonding time with her sister, which she hadn't done since... Well Dawn couldn't really remember the last time her and Buffy spent some time together. Dawn was also excited that Willow was coming along. Willow was one of her greatest friends, they could understand each other.
Dawn raced out of her room and to the front door calling back as she did "Come on Willow! The night doesn't last forever" Dawn had a smile on her face her excitement was out for everyone to see. When she went with Buffy or anyone else out of the group she felt more part of the group and that is something she has always wanted. Dawn knows she is a part of the gang but she wished she could be more involved and treated more like an adult instead of a child. This was something that would need some working on and it was happening. Slowly but surely anyways.
Dawn opened up the front door and saw Buffy standing there "Ready to go!" the words just fell out of her mouth in a jumble of excitement. Dawns long brown locks fell over her shoulders as she shut the door behind her so none of the cold air got into the house. "So Buffy have you found anything new out about this town?" Dawn was trying to ease her excitement by starting a conversation as they waited for Willow. Dawn knew she needed to be focused just encase there might be an attack. It would not be fun to get blind sided. So all Dawn's concentration went to thinking about her priorities.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Willow felt like she was running a bit behind today, but that’s what happens when you take a nap, it messes the rest of you day all up. Willow had been trying to rest a bit, she had been working none stop ever since she came to Mystic Falls and really has not had anytime for sleep. With working on new spells, helping Buffy train and trying to find the potential slayer, sleep wasn’t really an option right now. But Willow didn’t care, she wanted to help Buffy and the gang in anyway that she could. Most of it was probably was Willow fault anyway, practicing really intense Spells might not be smart to do all the time on herself. Willow was just trying to make sure she was skilled in anyway that she could be, you never know what could be coming there way. Willow was searching threw her closet trying to find something to wear that was cute but yet comfortable enough to hunt in, She came a cross one of her cute red top, “this cute I think I will wear this!” Willow said while putting it on. Willow then grabbed out a pair of her dark denim jeans and black flats to wear, she figured flats would be lot easier then anything else. She then walked over to her jewelry box and got out something’s to wear to complete the outfit, after that she looked at herself in the mirror to see how she looked. “I guess I look ok after all it is just patrolling, I‘m going to get Vampire guts on me anyway” Willow then heard Dawn calling up to her telling her to hurry it up, “ok I’m coming just give me a minute Dawn” Willow said down to Dawn. Willow then grabbed one of her jackets and started to head downstairs, But then Willow remember that she still needed to grab something. Willow walked over to her dresser and picked up her magic book, there was some new stuff she had wanted to try on the vampires. Willow then made it downstairs to Dawn and Buffy, she could tell they were a bit annoyed with having to wait for Willow. “I’m sorry guys that it took me so long, I was trying to find something that I wanted to bring. I have some new spell I want to try tonight, so are we ready to go then” Willow said all ready to go wanting see what the night has in store for them Word Count- 415 Tagged- Dawn and Buffy Outfit-Click here for Willow's outfitNote- This is going to be fun ~~~~~~~~~~~
- - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - -It was going to be a long ass day, though that was all he knew for sure. He knew that most times when he was around AJ they ended up getting themselves into trouble. It was crazy but what could he say, he was good friends with the vampire…which was strange since most witches/warlocks hated vampires and the same could be said for vampires hating witches/warlocks. AJ was the type of person though that once he cared about you, it was forever, but first impressions were everything to him…so if he started off hating you, he most likely would always hate you. Somehow the exception to that rule was Chase, but only because the first time the two men had met was when Lilly-Anne was in the hospital and AJ realized that she knew he was a vampire (being a little witch). Chase had walked in at the wrong moment and had immediately gone over to protect Lilly-Anne (not that she needed it, but he hadn’t known that at the time).
However, in true AJ fashion, he had simply smirked and said that he was too sexy to kill. It was actually the first of many times that Chase had been hit on by AJ, which would usually make most men uncomfortable (especially straight men like Chase), but he learned after awhile that it was simply the way AJ was.
He groaned when he heard his child squeal. He knew that AJ tended to allow Lilly-Anne to stay up later, but tonight was not the night for that. He needed to collect graveyard dirt in order to finish the protection spell he was working on and in order to do that he needed to get out of the house. Unfortunately the last three nights that he had attempted to leave the house his daughter wouldn’t let him, begging him to stay with her and AJ. He listened to the two of them giggling upstairs and smirked at his brother, trying to signal to him to be quiet. At least AJ was good for one thing, as he hoped that Lilly-Anne wouldn’t notice that he was gone.
He quickly grabbed his jacket and bolted out the door, heading towards the cemetery, hoping he wouldn’t be gone long. He hated sneaking out on his child, and also he hated allowing those around him to babysit her for him, but this was important. He hadn’t been able to renew the protection spell on the house since they had been here and he wasn’t stupid enough to think that they didn’t need it. With everything that he had seen in his life, he knew…protection was everything…and he would do anything to protect his daughter.
What does a vampire have to do around here to get some alone time? Not that AJ wanted it or needed it for that matter. AJ was a people person, clearly he was. Being alone was over rated and well AJ would much rather be with people, it was just his nature. He needed people, he needed to hear people talking or laughing, he just hated the silence. It gave him odd feelings, made his hair stand on end. When it was quiet, AJ could feel whatever demons he has watching him, screaming at him, trying to take hold of him. AJ could not let that happen, so he found himself a nice little family, the Wyatt's. Lilly-Anne the youngest, the baby, the one AJ loved the most, next was Chase the 'big brother' Lilly-Anne's daddy, her everything, AJ found him to be... amusing, in more ways then one. Everything about Chase AJ enjoyed, his carefree nature, his attempt to be Mr. Strick Daddy. It was all just.... fun. Next Alice and her husband, they too were fun people to be around, though a little.... well they were not Aj's kind of people. But they were wrapped in the same package as Lilly-Anne so AJ dealt with them. Though he did not fully let them in, they were still his 'family'. Seeing as he saw Lilly-Anne as the daughter he never had, and never really wanted (Though once he met her that changed), he saw Chase as a step-brother, brought in the family by marriage, so yes they were still brothers, but it was not weird for AJ to think Chase was well.... sexy.
Looking out the window he could see it was late. The night sky held a odd grey to it, looking like it might rain, though the forecast never called for it, it was just one of those gloomy nights. It gave AJ the freaks. Up in Lilly-Anne's room, Alice was singing her a song to try to get her to sleep, Aj was there looking out the window waiting for the little girl to scream for him. The poor child was sick with a fever, some kind of cold too. It was clear she did not feel well and when Lilly-Anne did not feel well, no one got any sleep. Chase felt this the most, seeing as the poor girl was so hopelessly in need of her daddy. The last few night's all Lilly-Anne wanted was her daddy, AJ kept a close seat in case he was needed, which he was but Daddy still had to be with her at all times. Poor Chase was really feeling the effects, everyone saw that. So it was a great relief that on this night, Lilly-Anne wanted none other then Alice. Which was quite the change, but Lilly-Anne was smart. AJ would not have put it past her if she knew how tired Chase had gotten from dealing with her. Maybe Lilly-Anne saw that and was giving Chase a break. Seeing as AJ and chase were pretty much partners in raising Lilly-Anne, AJ too got a break. What Chase did AJ did. Just like Alice and her husband Sean, they were a pair. When Lilly-Anne wanted one she wanted both. Chase and AJ, Sean and Alice, that's just how it was, everyone had a pair, Lilly-Anne would swap between them.
But tonight was different, Aj was grateful. He needed a break just as much as Chase, well maybe not as much as chase, seeing as Chase had to do most of the work, but still. AJ needed a change, he could not listen to another Hanna Montana anything, or he might just stake himself in the heart, just to get it over with. A small sound caught his attention over Alice's singing. It sounded like the door. Soon enough a figure walked by below, AJ knew that figure well, Chase.
What the hell was Chase doing leaving the house at this time of night? Shoot what was he doing leaving Lilly-Anne. Yeah she wanted Alice and Sean now, but still, what if she changed her mind. The poor girl would scream and cry until her spoiled butt got what she wanted. Then again, Aj though looking over to Alice, it looked like Lilly-Anne was pretty much sleeping. A few giggles left her when Sean did something stupid, like mess up the words, but she was pretty much asleep. AJ walking slowly by the wall, made his leave, with a small nod to Sean to tell him he'd be back. Seconds later and AJ was in the hall, the door to Lilly-Anne's room closed. AJ let out a small breath standing there for a moment, looks like he made it by with out Lilly-Anne noticing. Surly if she saw AJ leaving she could have let out a nice scream, which she normally did when Chase or himself left.
A clean break. With a small sigh he made his way down the stairs, taking them two at a time, though stepping very carefully, so as to not make a creek. AJ was going to go and catch up with Chase. AJ was not going to let him get away that easy. Stripping his grey shirt from his body, he tossed it on the Bannister, grabbing the only black thing he saw, a black leather jacket, that hung on the door knob to the basement (AJ's room was the basement). AJ pretty much threw the jacket on, not even thinking that he had no shirt on. AJ often walked around with out a shirt on anyway, so it never registered to him that he was leaving with a jacket and no shirt. It was such an AJ thing to do. In fact a few time's he left the house with only his scrub pants on for work, Alice always caught up with him to give him his shirt. But still... it's just an AJ thing. It was a common move for AJ. Seeing as AJ would never leave the house, or be seen in any color but well black, or dark red's ect. It was just AJ's thing. He was a dark person, and leaving with a grey tee shirt was not okay. So he grabbed the only thing he saw, a black jacket. Why he took of the grey tee-shirt, no one wound know.... he just....did. He always wore dark wash jeans, with a black belt with silver studs on it. AJ also had on his black tennis shoes, so he was pretty much covered, he just wanted a different shirt. Not like he was going to waste time looking for a nice black shit, so he just grabbed the first black thing he saw, which happened to be a jacket.
He pretty much ran outside the house, taking great care to close the front door carefully, so Lilly-Anne could not hear the small click. He waited outside the door for just a few moments, waiting to hear Lilly-Anne scream or something, but all AJ could hear was Alice's soft singing and Sean mumbling the words along with her. So AJ was free, so off he ran in search for Chase. Not like Chase got that far for it took AJ maybe a minute, maybe two to see Chase up a ways. After a small jog AJ was able to catch up with him. "Ay Chase!" Aj called to get his attention before, he slowed down to a brisk walk next to Chase. "Where do you think your going at this time of night?" AJ asked with a slick smile on his face. "It's a hard world out here, a pretty boy like yourself, should not be out alone.. it's not safe. You might need some protection." AJ hinted, his was of asking Chase if he could come with. Not that it would matter. Even if Chase said no, AJ would still be that annoying little puppy and follow behind.
Anyway it really did not hurt to keep AJ around. AJ was pretty old, and he was skilled in quite a lot. Put it simple AJ could handle himself very well. He was good at what he did, and knew when his ass is going to get kicked. So he could talk his way out of those situations. AJ was just good with trouble. Seeing as he got himself in trouble a lot, it was good that he could fight his way out just fine.... or talk his way out if needed. Aj sometimes wondered if that's why he was kept around. Aj could protect Lilly-Anne better then most people could, Chase could clearly see that. Anyone with eyes could see that AJ would risk his life to keep Lilly-Anne from getting so much as a paper cut.
It worked both ways too, Lilly-Anne was pretty protective of HER AJ, and HER Daddy as well. In fact it was pretty funny, AJ had done something stupid to piss Chase off, so of course Chase made AJ leave and go for a 'walk'. While AJ was gone Chase put a nice little spell on the house to uninvited AJ in. So Aj being AJ got pretty pissed off, and kept banging on the wall until Chase opened the door, and the second it was opened, Lilly-Anne and her big mouth screamed for AJ to get inside the house before he got a cold. This happened a few more times before Chase learned his lesson and just let it go. Every now and again Chase would be dumb and put the spell thing up again just to piss AJ off, but of course Lilly-Anne would invite him in almost immediately. But it was all in good fun. Chase and AJ fought worse then a married couple sometimes. But again they would always stick together. Shoot if AJ and Chase were not fighting that would be well bad. It was just how Chase and AJ got along, though strongly worded sentences, and maybe some yelling. Just because they were putting each other down or something did not mean they meant it. It was all in good fun and everyone knew that. Shoot Lilly-Anne would get in on the fun sometimes, though that always threw Chase and AJ for a nice spin, to hear her say some of the things AJ says. (Seeing as it's mostly AJ, when it comes to inappropriate language. Chase has more of a subtle hint of things, AJ just up and says it.)
- - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - -She waited on the porch and her mind wandered as it had been doing quite a lot recently. She wasn’t sure why her thoughts were constantly in the past but that’s where she seemed to live a lot recently. She knew if she went to a therapist they would tell her she was trying to recreate her past or some crap, but she didn’t care. Her past was safer, she already lived it. Granted, her past wasn’t all fluffy, well, none of it was, but at least there was nothing unknown about it. Nothing that she didn’t already see coming. At least now. She didn’t see any of it coming at the time, but now when she looked back she knew what it was…knew that it was coming, so it was easier to look back than to look forward sometimes.
Her mind drifted back to graduation. She wasn't sure why but she had thought of it a lot lately. Had been having dreams about it, though again, she had no idea why. She had a feeling it was the fact that she had gone and applied for a job at the counselor's office in the high school a few days ago and was waiting for a call. It hadn't hit her in Sunnydale that she was a counselor in the same school (sort of) that had tried to kill her numerous times. She knew, she had fought evil there afterward, but with the potentials, and Dawn, and everything else, it just seemed...not as important. Now however the memories were at the forefront of her mind at all times and it was driving her insane.
She still remembered how Faith had told her to use the mayor's human weakness against him. How she showed him the knife that she took from Faith and ran with it through the entire building of Sunnydale High School. Hey! You remember this! I took it from Faith. Stuck it in her fut. Just slid it in her like she was butter. You want to get it back from me? Dick?. She remembered she let him follow her into the library and then jumped out the window. She remembered signaling to Giles who pushed down on the lever and she remembered watching her high school be blown to pieces.
It was strange. She remembered that day in crystal clear perfection, but that’s not what stood out. Not fighting the mayor, not the whole senior class helping. No, it was afterward.
She remembered speaking with Xander and his comment about knowing that Angel had made it through the fight. She knew had probably taken off but then she felt it. The tingling that she always felt in her soul when he was around. She turned around and saw the face of her angel, the one she always loved. She stared at him for moments, and he stared back. Then he finally turned around walked through the smoke, stealing her heart and soul along with him. She watched until he was truly gone before heading over to her friends...never letting her emotions for that moment show.
Her mind immediately sealed itself to the memories when she heard the front door open behind her. She turned and looked, her sister standing next to her. She heard her question and nodded. “We have got to be careful. This town isn’t like Sunnydale…it doesn’t use denial as a way of life. I was patrolling a few days ago and saw cops out with guns that shot wooden bullets. They were carrying stakes, crosses, and they meant business. They weren’t asking first and shooting later…they shot first and asked questions later.” She stated, trying to convey how serious the matter was.
She heard Willow’s comment about a spell and shook her head. “I was just telling Dawn we have to be careful. These people…they know about vampires and they know that there are vampires in town. I don’t know how much they know…but they’re prepared. It doesn’t seem to me like they like the supernatural world very much. They’ll hurt any of us if they think we’re a threat…so no crazy stuff tonight…got it?” She asked as they walked towards the cemetery. Once inside the gates she looked around, her supernatural sight luckily helping her see better than most in the dark. The cemetery had very little lighting, most of it coming from the moon, so it was lucky for her that she could see.
“Usually I would say we could have fun with this but not tonight. Just stay close to me.” She told them, hoping that they actually listened.
• • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • •• • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • Dawn looked at Buffy, kind of shocked about the whole cop situation. She knew she had seen a lot of them around but never really paid too much attention to them. "That is pretty crazy, I haven't really notice them I guess. Looks like we will have to be careful especially with this many people going into the cemetery." There were only three of them but three was still three too many. It didn't help that Willow was a witch, sure Dawn knew some magic but it's not like she practiced or anything, she was not as skilled as Willow. So they just had to be careful. It was a good thing Dawn brought her own weapons, even though Buffy normally carried a bag with her. Just depended on the night.
Smiling when she saw Willow. It was finally time to head off. Dawn was excited, she hadn't been out on a trip to hunt in a while. It made her feel good that her sister was actually letting her go. It use to be where she wasn't even allowed out at night let alone with them to go slaying so Dawn was ecstatic about going. When she went slaying with her sister and other members of the group she felt more involved than staying behind and helping with other things that were 'safer.'
Walking along side Buffy and Willow to the cemetery didn't take long at all. Before Dawn knew it they were there. Looking around she didn't spot anything out of the ordinary. Just your basic cemetery with graves and head stones, some trees, and flowers laid out for the dead. It was really a peaceful place to be, too bad many nasty things went bump in the night.
When Buffy told her to stay close, Dawn knew that it was an unlikely thing to happen. Places get dark people get lost not to mention if any vampires come out and there is more than one people tend to split up a little to take them on. Dawn giggled to herself a little. Buffy always did like to take charge of these situations but Dawn was like her sister, she was stubborn and kind of a rebel. If Dawn did decide to stray off she wouldn't go too far because well she knew better. Getting surrounded when you are by yourself is not a fun thing. it is also very dangerous. Last thing Dawn wants is to turn into a nasty blood sucking monster.
Pulling her hair back into a pony tail she looked over at Buffy while still glancing around to watch her step. She has tripped over plenty of small things before... Including air. "So do you think there will be a lot of vampires out tonight?" She couldn't help to ask, she knew the answer but she really meant for in the cemetery. Most vampires took off to find food and play mates but there were still times when a lot of them hung around the cemetery waiting for their meal or just sitting around. It could be hard to tell but since Buffy had the most experience out of it all she would probably have a good guess, especially since she makes her rounds in this area just about every night.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ “No crazy stuff! well that’s a bore, I really wanted to try out this new spell Buff. Oh well” Willow wasn’t much for using stakes, she used her magic ether to take on the enemies, or to track them to Buffy so she could kill them. That was her way in fighting with the gang, but tonight Willow would have to just stick with good old fashion magic and nothing to big Which Willow was ok with she just really wanted to try something new, she was really getting bored with old stuff. And now with Tara was back and living with them, they had all ready started to read up on some new spells. So Willow was really stoked in trying them out. Tara was staying back at this house still trying to get settled in, so Willow was giving her baby some space so she could. Willow was still so happy to have Tara back with them, she still couldn’t believe it was really true. Luck in Willow life was always going array, so it was really hard to believe that things were actually working out for her for once. Willow was use to things going wrong never right, with having her werewolf boyfriend cheat on her, or her best friend dieing, twice even. So she really couldn’t imagine that the one worse thing that ever happen to Willow was over, Willow still did remember the pain none the less, but she had the feeling of Tara in her arms once again, that was all that mattered. Life right now was prefect. Willow was standing there with the others waiting, as Buffy was giving the orders to them before the patrol, “got it Buffy you just tell me what I need to do and I will back you up all the way Buff, you know me I will be ready as always.” Willow then looked over and gave Dawn a big smile and said “you ready to go Dawn, this should be fun!” Willow actually really liked patrolling with Dawn, she really handled herself well like her big sister. Willow could tell that she loved getting to work with her big sis, Dawn felt more needed to the group now more then ever. They were all walking together till finally that made to the cemetery, Willow was happy that she wore her comfy black jacket. It was kind of a cold night, there was a bit of a fog over the cemetery ground and the air smelled slightly muggy. Wasn’t to bad for Willow though, the cold didn’t really bother her and she was use to foggy cemetery’s. Then Dawn had said something about if she though they would see lot vampires tonight, it was funny that Dawn said that Because Willow didn’t feel like they were alone. “well maybe because right now Buffy I almost don’t feel like we are alone” Willow kept a good watch with her flash in case there was anything around, she was ready for anything that could come. - - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - -He groaned as he heard the door slam from behind him. He knew what that meant. His idiotic best friend was mere steps behind him, though at the moment he had not made any move to catch up with him, something that surprised the young father. Usually AJ was up in everyone’s business, especially his.
He remembered a time not too long ago when his best friend had gotten in between him and his brother. Not in a bad way, but it wasn’t entirely appropriate. Sean and him had been arguing over where to move. He wanted to move as far away from his mother as possible where Sean wanted to stay in the general area, just move to a different neighborhood. Chase had asked AJ to stay up with Lilly-Anne as he didn’t want his child to see him and her uncle arguing. Of course AJ didn’t do what Chase asked (though why he thought he would was beyond Chase after the fact) and came downstairs. He heard the argument and immediately had set in on making everyone around him confused. He said that Sean was right because Lilly-Anne was comfortable here and also that at least that way he could stick around. He said Chase himself was right because Lilly-Anne would be further away from her grandmother.
All in all he hadn’t really helped the situation, simply had reiterated everyone else’s responses and got himself into the middle of it. Chase wouldn’t lie, he was thankful for AJ as he had always been there when he needed help, but there were times that he wanted to drive a wooden stake through him…not through his heart as he never really wanted to kill him, but through his leg or something to cause him a bit of pain without further damaging him.
He stopped at the entrance of the cemetery and waited for his best friend to catch up. He found in unnerving to have someone follow him, even if he did know the person and even if he did know that he was being followed. It was an eerie feeling to have someone behind him, especially one that even though he knew he wouldn’t, could still kill him with the strike of a pen…or technically the bite of a fang.
“AJ if you’re going to come then come. I need to get this and then get back home. You know how well Lilly-Anne behaves when I’m gone.” He said sarcastically, making it known that his child didn’t deal well when he wasn’t around. Ever since Sean and Alice had brought his child to him at St. James Academy, the boarding school he had been attending while his mother watched his daughter…when she had been abused and then returned to him, she had been overly clingy. He understood the reasoning behind it of course and he didn’t mind it most of the time, but there were other times that it depressed him since she was much clingier than normal children her age.
Chase didn’t wait any longer for AJ, though he knew he would follow. He went to a new grave towards the center of the cemetery and bent down, gathering some dust and putting it into a zip lock bag. Unfortunately he had no time to even return the bag to his pocket as he was thrown into a headstone across the way. He groaned and looked up, a vampire snarling at him. He looked at the grave he had been kneeling at and noted the open space. He groaned again and stood up, but was grabbed from behind by another vampire. He called out. “Hey AJ, a little help?!”

"Busted!" AJ said with a half shrug catching up with Chase right quick. "I was just gonna follow you. Where are you going at this time of night anyway?" Aj asked, of course trying to butt his way in the Chases life a little more. Typical AJ right? Trying to know everything all the time. "And no worry's I'm pretty sure Lilly-Anne is going to be fast asleep pretty soon anyway. I mean your brother seemed to have it under control when I left." Aj said with a bit of a shrug. It was true! But off Chase went, AJ walking a few steps behind.
"Dude... what are you doing exac-" AJ began to say but before he could get the words fully out of his mouth Chase was thrown into a head stone. "REALLY? You fucking kidding me!?" AJ asked moving into action. He picked up the vampire closest to him, and pretty much tossed him off to the side like he was a plastic bottle or something. Then with a hop skip and a jump he was standing in front of the vampire holding Chase, his teeth showing about an inch from Chase's neck. "You might not want to do that." Chase said punching the vampire square in the face. "I'll hold you stab." AJ said with a laugh, that made him sound a little crazy. But hey it helped him stay sane. He had to do SOMETHING with his life, and killing people of his kind seemed to fill some kind of gap. What that was he did not know, but it was kind of what he lived for.
It took maybe a second maybe two, for Aj to jump over Chase, and the headstone, and land an inch from the vampire that was punched. "I like it when you put up a fight." AJ said kicking the vampire while he was down. AJ bent down and picked him up, holding the vampires arms behind his back. AJ stood behind the vampire, he kept one of his feet on top of the other vampires to keep it from kicking Chase. He just hoped Chase found a stake soon because that other vampire he tossed would be coming after them soon, and AJ really did not want Chase getting hurt AJ would fight theses guys all day if he had the time. But to involve Chase.... well that was not cool. Chase had to live for Lilly-Anne. If AJ got hurt he'd heal. if Chase was... well poor Lilly-Anne! What would she do with out a father.
As much as AJ wanted to drag this fight out, he really really did not want Chase in the middle of this. Chase had too much to live for. Chase was needed in this life! AJ was well... he had no one that needed him. Lilly-Anne might be kind of sad, but honestly Chase was all she really needed. So hell yeah AJ was reckless... but it kept him...human. Also hey he helped rid the world of evil. Even know technically he was evil too, but it was a different evil. He was able to channel his evil into this right here. This whole killing vampire thing. This is what his evil went to. So when he was able to kill Vampire's it kept the evil at bay really. It was weird but it worked for AJ. "Common Chase.... there's at least one more out there... let's get it done." AJ said getting bored. He was about to try and cut the struggling vampire's head off... which would be pretty hard because he kind of needed both hands to hold the vampire. Now if he had a third hand, he could get the knife from his pocket and cut the dudes head off. But of course god only blessed him with two hands. LAME! He'd have to make do, so he'd wait for Chase where ever the heck he got off to. In another few seconds AJ would go off looking. But he really did not want this one to get away.

- - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - -Something was wrong. She could feel it all around her. She wasn’t sure what it is but it was evil. She looked to the sky for some infinite wisdom that she wasn’t sure existed…but saw nothing other than dark clouds. She stared up at it, almost, entranced, by the dark cloud formation above her. Something seemed eerie about the clouds…she knew they hadn’t been there when she left. The night was a relatively clear night…so why there was a patch of dark clouds hovering over the cemetery seemed a little too…monster movie for her. It reminded her of when she was back in Sunnydale. She hadn’t been there that long but a kid was trapped in a nightmare and along with him, the entire town’s nightmares were coming to life.
The cemetery had been immersed in darkness, though the rest of the town was alight with the natural sunlight. It was eerie then as well. She could clearly remember everyone’s fears. A boy in her class, his name not coming to her after all this time, dreamt that his spiders that his brother killed came back to him. Xander was afraid of being naked in front of a classroom full of people as well as he was scared of a clown that had scared him on one of his childhood birthdays. Giles had been afraid that he could no longer read…and that she would die…something that did eventually come true. Cordelia’s had been that she was a nerd with frizzy hair and was forced to join the chess club. Willow’s had been that she was forced on stage without knowing the word and being forced to sing.
Her nightmares had been several. The first one was that there was a test that she hadn’t known about and didn’t know a single answer of. The hour also sped up giving her no time to even fill out her full name. Her next one had been where her father blamed her for the divorce (something to this day she always knew to be true) and said that he no longer wanted to see her (something that was now the case since she hadn’t spoken to him since before her mother got sick). Her next nightmare that came true was being killed by the Master…something which once more did come true in the end. The last one that had come true was her becoming a vampire.
She had never really thought about it before but it was almost ironic that everything she had feared that day all those years ago, with the exception of becoming a vampire, had actually transpired in one way or another. She briefly wondered if that whole situation was some sort of prophecy from the Powers that Be, letting her know what was to come. However she shook her head, knowing that wasn’t the case. It was simply a demon in a human’s body who had hurt a little kid, and his mind transformed the man into a demon…who in turn let out everyone’s nightmares.
The sound of a struggle broke her out of her thoughts and she listened carefully to where it was coming from. “Come on.” She whispered lowly to her sister and her best friend, motioning for them to follow her. She ran towards the sound and was surprised when she saw AJ and another man battling what looked to be about 10 vampires at once. She waved her hand at her friend. “AJ? Need a hand?” She called out…though didn’t give him the opportunity to reply before she leapt into the fray, immediately staking a vampire from behind who had the other man in a headlock. She looked up and saw that three more vampires had joined in the fight and she groaned, but simply dodged a punch thrown by a younger looking vampire. “So what exactly are you doing in a cemetery at night AJ? Sort of cliché don’t you think?” She asked conversationally, while at the same time blocking and kicking. She didn’t allow herself worry about her sister and best friend, for she knew they could take care of themselves and would let her know if they needed her assistance.

Dawn would follow her sister to the ends of the earth if she needed to. Buffy was her last living breathing family, not to mention in a way her best friend even if they fought. They always had each others backs no matter the situation. Buffy had taken her life for Dawn, she owed her sister even though she knew that her sister would never let her repay that. It was still there though. And since Dawn has been practicing she has gotten much better at fighting and protecting herself so she doesn't have to rely on others to help her. Well as much, she still is pretty new to the whole fighting demons and vampires and monsters since she is the baby of the gang she didn't get to see a lot of any of it. But that all was changing quickly for her.
Putting her game face on she pulled her weapon out and launched herself off of a tomb stone and on to a vampire slaying it with one strike. Something she had watched her sister do countless times before. Dawn was actually surprised she had gotten it one the first try. Normally things didn't go her way, she was rather clumsy so that didn't really help. Dawn felt really proud of herself, getting on the first try. Something that probably wouldn't happen again. Standing up she turned seeing just how many vampires surrounded them. It was going to be a tough fight but there were plenty of people to take them out. Sadly more vampires seemed to pop up after one or two were killed.
Looking around she saw him. Chase, the man she had met at the library. What was he doing at this place at night!?! Was he crazy? "Chase? Wha.." She was surprised but before she could even finish her sentence she had been grabbed and thrown from behind. Thats what she gets for getting distracted. Hitting a tomb stone with a thud. It sent dirt flying into the air. Coughing a bit Dawn rolled over and got to her knees before she could get pinned, this was going to hurt in the morning. She could already feel it now. Most vampires were very persistent. Something she found kind of annoying. With a small cough and a huff she braced herself for the impact of the vampire charging at her. Weapon at the ready. Taking him on was rather easy now that her focus was back. It was strange how easy these creatures were dropping. Something she never really came across. Normally they put up a better fight than this.
A little confused she looked to her big sister, she seemed busy. Maybe Buffy would notice as well and she wouldn't have to ask. Standing up she dusted herself off and took off at another vampire. This one seemed a bit stronger since it was able to hit her before she got to it. Cutting Dawn a little she kicked him and took him to the ground with a stake to his chest. "Buffy, why are they dropping so easily?!? This isn't normal, and more keep coming after one has died... Something strange is happening." Dawn didn't know what was happening but she could feel something dark looming over the cemetery. Was there a spell or something? Taking a breath she continued to take out vampires. Almost forgetting Chase was even there.
Chase! The thought came back to her and she looked quickly to see if he was OK. Dawn didn't know anything about him, she didn't know if he knew about these. He must if he was with this other vampire called 'Angel' Dawn of course didn't know who he was but Buffy did, so he must have been a good vampire. This brought up so many questions for Dawn. "Chase, what are you doing out here??" She didn't look at him while she spoke, Dawn was keeping her focus this time. She didn't want to be taken from behind, and since they kept coming it would be bad to not keep her head in the battle.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Willow followed Buffy and dawn threw the cemetery as they both were trying to be quite, Willow had her magic book close to her as they walked. She was ready for anything that might try and take them on, that is if they could. It was going to be hard for anything or anyone to hurt them. With a powerful Wicca on one hand and a slayer on the other, it was hard to take them down, not to mention Dawn an eighteen year old ready to kick some serious butt. Willow walked behind the group still with nothing happening, she then whispered to Buffy “you see anything yet Buff?” Willow then heard a noise coming from the distance. “Buffy did you hear that? We should go and check it out” Willow said ready to go. Willow had been dying to do some magic, so as bad as it sounded Willow was hoping there was some vamps coming. Willow and the gang headed to were the sounds were coming from, they almost sounded like someone was fighting something off. Could it maybe be potential slayers? Willow hoped so this would be a great chance for Buffy to fight with them. Then they had made to were the fight had been going down, Willow saw a two men with about ten vampires taking them on. Willow then looked over at Dawn ready to fight, “ok Dawn you ready, lets kill us some vamps!” Buffy ran over first to go help, It almost seemed like she knew the guy fighting. Willow then ran over to help taking on a vamp of her own, whille fighting she asked “I’m guessing you know these guys or something buff?” One of the vampires started to come at Willow, She called out "Dissolvo" As ball of light shot out from Willows hand killing that Vampire that came at her. Willow then spotted another that was coming towards the Vampire that Buffy knew, Willow then did the same spell again killing another vamp. “Your welcome!” she called to the man Buffy knew. But then Willow saw that he was a Vampire! “What is up with Buffy being besties with Vampires anyway? Oh well” Willow said to herself as she when back to fighting some more vamps. Willow was casting spells left and right, killing vampires one by one with just a flick of the wrist. She was kind of having fun in way, “this is nifty! Come on who else want to take me or the buffster on!” Willow was having a blast killing these vampires, but for some reason it wasn’t stopping they just kept on coming. “Ok Buffy are these things ever going to stop coming or what?” Willow said still fighting. Willow was hoping that soon it would stop, or else she was ether going to get tired or go crazy one of the two. She looked over to see if Dawn was still doing ok, “how are you doing over there Dawn? You ok?"Word Count- 505 Tagged- Dawn and Buffy Outfit-Click here for Willow's outfitNote- I love this post so funny, this thread rocks too ~~~~~~~~~~~
- - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - -He groaned when he saw the vampires all around them. This was definitely not normal. He knew for a damn fact that not this many people had died here recently. He did keep his eyes on the obituaries to make sure that no vampires were rising. He usually didn’t go around specifically looking and hunting vampires as he had to use magic to kill them and it usually made too big of a spectacle. However this was a different time. This was different. Something was controlling these…corpses. He had a feeling that they weren’t all vampires even though they looked like it.
He heard his name and looked over, recognizing Dawn, the beautiful brunette girl who he had met in the book and cd store a few days prior. He almost jumped into the fray again (once he had staked the vampire that was in front of him) when he saw her get thrown but saw her quickly get up so he realized she was okay. He saw she seemed to know what she was doing and didn’t dwell on it too long as two vampires started to come after him once more.
He saw the way that vampires kept coming at them and it definitely wasn’t normal. Sure he knew that a lot of times vampires traveled together in larger families (yes, he did know about sire, childe, lacky, minion, etc.) as he had studied the hierarchy of vampire families when he was bored one day (hello, he barely slept when Lilly-Anne was first born, what else did he have to do?).
He knew that the situation needed to be defused and soon. He wasn’t sure if he had the strength in order to do what he needed to but he would definitely attempt…at least it would get rid of some of them. “Everyone shield your eyes!” He bellowed out, hoping that they all did what he said…though if they didn’t it wouldn’t hurt them…would just shine a huge light in their eyes and probably give them a bit of a headache for the rest of the evening…but it wouldn’t blind you like staring in the sun had the potential to do.
Chase stepped into the middle of things and stared at the sky, gathering strength from the stars before looking down at the ground, gathering strength from the earth. He raised his hands and chanted under his breath…though no words were heard even to those with supernatural strength. Around him a huge ball of light whipped so fast and so large that it looked like it engulfed the man. You could hear the vampires screams around him and once his strength left him the ball disappeared.
Chase crumbled to the ground and groaned. “Stupid vampires.” He muttered under his breath though this time he was sure that AJ had heard him. He knew he’d most likely pay for that comment later but at the moment he really didn’t care. He concentrated on his breathing, attempting to get it back under control. It had been a long time since he had done a spell of that magnitude and it took a lot out of him…something he hated because it made him look weak.
He herd a voice, a voice he knew all too well...Buffy. Good. things were starting to get out of hand here, so he was very glad that she, 'the vampire slayer' was here to help. He still did not really believe her about the whole vampire slayer thing, and honestly he never would. But when you grew up with a sweet little preppy girl by your side, its hard to think of her as a slayer. Prom Queen to Slayer, that's a pretty large leap in AJ's mind. But he might have to accept it.. which he was trying to do. At least for now he would, seeing as he well.. did have his hands full. There was only so many vampires he could kill... and the odds were not with him. Where Chase might be some help, still there was only so much he could do being human and all. "Buffy Baby!" Aj said with a small chuckle. AJ not wasting a second broke off a rather thick branch from a tree, to use as a stake. It was wood, and hey it worked. Within a second he took another Vampire down. "Yep sure is. My buddy here needed something...." AJ said shaking his head a little. "Bet he learned his lesson right and good." AJ added, talking to Buffy like it was normal. Talking to her like they were sitting having Tea, well more like working out, seeing as most everyone was out of breath. AJ would have been also but of course he did not well have a breath...
"What have you been up to since the Magic shop Buff?" AJ asked as he dodged a punch thrown his way, rather he grabbed the arm of the vampire throwing the punch and used the momentum to toss the vampire on the floor before finding his way on top of the vamp, and began punching, he just needed a free second to stab the sun of a gun in the heart, but the vampire of course was fighting back... it might take a while. Dang. AJ was really hoping it would be quick so he could get Chase back to his daughter. With that though the second vampire was dusted. AJ stood up looking for Chase.
But before he could look at Chase he herd his voice. Well shit... if he was gonna do a spell then AJ better hide. This spell was going to kill some Vampires, and AJ knew to be gone when that happened. So AJ grabbed the nearest vampire and well... used the poor dead guy as a shield as shorts. He closed his eye holding the vampire in front of him so whatever spell would hopefully not hit him. Somehow AJ was lucky and whatever spell he did, dusted the vampire he was holding but AJ seemed to be well safe. AJ checked himself over for a moment he seemed to have all his parts... at least all the parts that matted. Now back to the fight.
AJ knew how much magic took out of the boy, and as soon as he was sure Chase was done with his vodo, made his way right over to his buddy. He'd protect Chase with more then his life. "CHASE!" AJ yelled as he crumbled to the floor. AJ so saw that one coming. Yes his magic spell thing helped, but shoot almost killed AJ in the process. Within a second another vampire was dusted and AJ was standing over Chase. "Stupid Vampire am I? Too bad that last spell did not get me right?" He asked getting on his knees next to Chase, though he was still aware of the fight going on around him. Any vampire though of getting close, would be killed in a second. Fuck with AJ fine, but try to fuck with Lilly-Anne's daddy... HELL NO!
AJ shook his head a little. "You try to get up and I'll bite you!" AJ said quickly as another vampire came him way. Man this was pretty annoying. AJ stood up and threw the stake he held in his hand right for the vampire, hitting him right in the heart. AJ just waved as the vampire blew in the wind. AJ held out a hand to help Chase up. AJ hoped Chase was strong enough to at least stand. AJ could carry him home no biggy, but AJ needed Chase to be able to stand. It would be hard for AJ to stake a vampire while holding Chase. If he could stand AJ could fight for a moment then pick Chase back up and walk the rest of the way home. "Next time you do a spell like that, make sure you tell me to run... I almost got dusted, then what would you tell Lilly-Anne?" AJ said though clearly he was not mad. He was just fucking around with Chase trying to make him happy... or well trying to make sure Chase was alright with out having to ask Chase.
