"Thanks, for the longest time I didn't think I would be able to move on from it." Kyle told Courtney honestly. He never thought he would, the thought of alien life being real, the thought of how an alien saved his life after all that had happened, it was all worse then the actual bullet entering him. The whole summer he found religion, and it got him through it, before he knew it, he wanted to be apart of the group, he wanted to help them and be considered their friend as they seemed like they needed his help, even if they never admitted it, plus Maria and Liz trusted them.
He loved seeing her blush, especially if he was the one that made her blush. He nodded. He did feel incredibly guilty about what happened back then, about the fact that he betrayed them an almost got them all killed and hurt. Yet for some reason Max still saved him. Sooner or later it seemed like all of them forgave him for what he did. He was just a scared kid after all back then, not understanding what was going on. So since they were able to forgive him and welcome him into the group, then how could he not forgive himself. And really, at the end of the day, no one but him got hurt.
"Yes, it would of sucked. If I never met you..." Kyle said, finding himself blushing now. he didn't even know what he was gonna say. He searched for what seems like forever, but really was only 7 years, for a girl that could possibly accept him, all of him. It really was to early to tell, but he hoped that Courtney was that girl as she seemed to be really understanding and sweet, so he doubted she would freak out and dump him when she finally did find out what he was, but he wasn't certain. He just knew that one day he would tell her and he could only hope for the best.
"Because it it with the greatest girl I ever met." Kyle told her honestly when she asked why he liked pinky swearing with her so much. "I hope you don't take this wrong, but you really are too adorable and I thought I would never find a girl like you. Not that I think you want to be my girl or anything, just that girls like you don't exist very often. I only met one other girl that is as sweet pure and adorable as you." Kyle told her honestly, deciding to really open up to her and let her know that he was really into her and thought she was really great, and that he wanted to try and be with her. All he could do now was hope that she doesn't reject him.
He felt bad now though, cause he basically told her she was better then Liz. That wasn't fair to Liz or Courtney and he didn't mean to compare them, but she did remind him of her in good ways and he loved that. Liz had her true love and it was time for Kyle to have his and he wanted so desperately for it to be with Courtney, but it was to soon to tell and he could only hope for the best. He seemingly had to hope for the best a lot with Courtney today. For some reason he thought that she was gonna laugh at him and reject him, and that would just kill him if she did that to him.
"Thanks." Kyle said with a smile fighting off a blush again. She now full on admitted that she liked his body. So she liked more then just his personality then, she liked his looks too. That was a good thing, right? To be able to get a girl to like both your personality and your looks? She then asked him if he wanted to ask her a serious question, he did, but wasn't sure if she would say yes. "I wanted to know if..." Kyle began, getting really nervous. He couldn't believe he was that nervous but he was. He didn't want to scare her off, so he could ask, he wanted to ask her out on a real date, but he just couldn't do it. Not till he knew if she was really into him.
"Well, I have to work out as much as any other person and a bit more during the season to keep in shape, but its not like I spend every minute at the gym." He told her. He did have a life, though before meeting Courtney, he would be the first to admit it wasn't much of a life. There she goes flirting with him again, she was really driving Kyle wild and he now knew that she was just as into him as he was into her, if not more. "Thanks, I like a women who is sweet and has a good head on her shoulders." Kyle told her honestly, which is exactly her, she was smart and sweet and he enjoyed that, a lot.
"You honestly don't have to try. I like you just the way you are. You are maybe to good for me." Kyle told her when she said she couldn't compete with him, he felt the complete opposite, he thought she was way to good for him and that she would reject him. But now it just seemed evident that she would. Kyle never thought he would get over Liz PArker, but he did, and now he wanted nothing more then to be with Courtney and it seemed more and more like she wanted the exact same thing as he did.
He nodded and took the seat next to her and took the glass taking a sip of it. "This is really good, did you make it yourself?" Kyle asked her with a smile. She then thanked him again and he just smiled. "Well really like I said it was no problem." Kyle replied to Courtney, she then apologized for sounding whiny and he shook his head. "No, no your not whiny. I know what it is like to feel alone, and a girl like you should never feel that way, if a guy can't see how great you are, then he is a moron." Kyle told her honestly, placing his hand on hers and holding it gently.
Realizing he might be moving to fast he quickly moved his hand away. Last thing he wanted to do was make this girl scared of him and think that all he wanted was that kind of relationship which was the farthest thing from the truth. He sighed. "Sorry, I hope I didn't make you feel uncomfortable." Kyle told Courtney honestly. He then smiled and decided to take a huge leap of faith and hoped that buddah was on his side today. "Courtney, I would really like to see you again, would you possibly consider going out with me sometime?" Kyle asked her, knowing that his life would just somehow come to an end if she said no, he wanted to prey that she would say yes, and again, he could only hope that she will.

I don't want to be, Anything other than what I've been trying to be lately
"Well, you did right? So now just be happy," she said with a big smile. Kyle needed to see things in a positive way, that was what Courtney did often, or at least she tried to. She had it all, the money, a little bit of power, and that wasn't enough for her. She didn't know why she couldn't just have those. What she felt like she needed was love...yeah love. That's what she needed, it didn't have to be the kind of love where she had to be intimate, it could be going home or forming a friendship, but it could also be being in a relationship. She already felt at home being in Richmond, she knew it was the right place sometimes she did wonder if she should move back to Canada but meeting Kyle altered her decision. He could be what she was missing, who knew. She kind of missed her old life, it felt weird being so grown up. She had her career and had the house and this was what she had always wanted. To get out of high school and start her life, but now looking back high school wasn't that bad. Sure, she had went through heart-break and drama but it wasn't that bad now that she had thought it. And keeping her grades up which was pretty hard since she wasn't the smartest, she was decent in school just not intelligent. She was more alone now than she was in high school which was something she had never thought would happen. She didn't want to think about it to much though, as she wanted to enjoy her life. "Well, lucky you did," she told the man. "I mean I am pretty amazing," she said but of course was joking. The girl wasn't this cocky, in fact she was a bit insecure. She knew she was pretty but she still didn't feel good enough for a guy, she felt like she could be annoying or clingy or just weird. She just didn't know how to feel about herself, she knew Kyle was a nice guy but what if he got bored of her? Maybe he didn't like the way she talked. Okay, she didn't need to think about this stuff, she needed to breathe and let whatever happen, happen. The girl was getting way too paranoid when she shouldn't get paranoid as he wouldn't do anything to hurt her...hopefully. It was her turn to blush, "I don't think I'm the greatest but...thank you," she said looking down on the ground but back up at him into his blue eyes. He really didn't have to say any of this stuff but here he was complimenting her and meaning every word. "Really?" She said with a soft smile. "Making me feel so special," she said with a grin. He was so sweet to her and he was opening up to her which she really liked. "Should I be worried about competition?" She asked the man. "Not that I'm jealous or anything," worse save ever. Someone who was like her, well he definitely had a type and it was his best friend. She briefly wondered if the man still had feelings for his best friend. "If what?" She asked curiously. She wanted to know what he was going to ask. Was he going to ask her out? If he was going to then the girl might just die, she would love to go out on a date with him if he did ask. She knew she had to get to know him better so a date would be perfect to do that. He just seemed so nervous with this question so she assumed he would ask her...but if he didn't then that would suck a lot, she was really hoping he would today. She was also hoping that he wasn't playing her or anything, she was hoping that his feelings were genuine, she really wasn't ready for her heart to be broken, that was one thing she didn't want out of this, she just wanted to be happy, not brought down. She didn't think he would though, he was so sweet so she couldn't imagine it. "Why thank you," it was like the two couldn't stop complimenting each other. It was just habit right now, and she wasn't running out of things to compliment. She just didn't know how she bumped into such a good guy who was also attractive. When the two had met earlier she wasn't expecting him to be this guy who's faith was Buddha and was also nice. She was expecting some player kind of guy who was a jerk and charmed people into bed. He was nothing like that though and probably would never be like that, it just didn't seem him. Least to say, her perception was wrong and she couldn't be any happier of that, that he was a good guy who enjoyed talking to her. "Why are you the sweetest guy on this planet?" She asked him wondering how he could be so nice. His father and mother must have brought him up really well. "That totally just proves that you're too good for me," she told him honestly. He deserved an amazing girl, someone who was just positive and vibrant, Courtney was happy that he did pick her though. She didn't know what she'd do if he wanted someone else, she would probably be upset and be alone once again. God, once again thinking of this stuff, she needed to stop it and just let nature take it's course with it all. "Yeah I did," she said with a smile. "I have like this juicer thing that does it for me, it's a berry blend," she told him glad he liked the juice. "I'm glad they were morons, we wouldn't be here today," she told him with a small smile. "Same goes for you, I mean you're such an amazing guy any girl would be an idiot for letting you go," she told him. The two were flirting, it would have been obvious to anyone who saw how they talked to each other. She wanted him to know that does have a strong physical appeal and he was a great guy so why did girls not go for him or at least want a relationship with him? She just didn't understand and probably never would. Whens she felt his hand on her's she felt a spark and she was about to grab it but he removed it from her hand which made the girl frown a bit. "You didn't, I actually...kinda liked it," she told him honestly. He then asked the girl out which made her really happy. He finally did it, she was so afraid he wouldn't and would just go on with his day but he was there waiting for a response from her. "Yes, I'd love to go out on a date with you Kyle," she said grinning. He wanted to go out on a date, this was great. "When is the date?" She asked him curiously, she wanted to know just in case she wanted to book off her work or her schedule, who knew when. She was hoping that this date would be really good, one thing for sure, she knew she would be swept off either hungry to go home, All I have to do,Is think of me and I have peace of mind. tag; Kyle words; 1229 wearing; This! credits; template by delilahh @ CAUTION! notes; Same!!! He smiled at Courtney when she told him to just be happy. Actually for the first time in a long time, he was finally happy. Kyle thought that he would never be happy again when he left Roswell. Him and Liz were just friends and he couldn't find anyone to be with, he left his father behind and that was to much for him. But then he had to break apart from his friends and he felt truly alone. It was like the world was completely against him, and he guessed he deserved it because of what he did nearly getting them all killed before Max saved his life.
But now, it was all turning around for him, he found this great girl that liked him as much as Kyle liked her. He couldn't believe his luck had finally changed when he met Courtney. At least he hoped so. Finally Kyle nodded in response. She was right, he moved on and he should just be happy. The thing was, Kyle finally found a reason to be happy, and that changed his whole outlook on everything. Hopefully she felt the same way and wanted to at least give him a shot, as it was all he really wanted right now, well other then to see his dad and friends again.
"Yeah, you are. pretty amazing." Kyle agreed with her, though he knew she was joking and it seemed like she might of thought of herself as insecure and not amazing, which as far as Kyle could see, she was amazing. "You are the kind of girl guys dream about, aside from your looks, you are smart, funny, kind. Really, I don't think I will ever get tired of seeing you and talking to you every day, I just wanted you to know that." Kyle told her honestly. He wanted her to feel better and calm down, as he didn't want her thinking she wasn't good enough for him.
If anything, Courtney was TO good for him. At least that is the way he thought. Kyle had never been insecure, and he thought he was good looking and he knew women liked his personality. What kept him from getting to serious with a girl was the fact that he didn't trust himself or others. What if they betrayed him or something? That would be worse then never falling in love at all. But Courtney was different. She would never do anything like that to him, he could tell. She would accept what he was with open arms, maybe it would freak her, but she would get over it.
"Well its not hard to make someone feel special when they are." Kyle told her honestly. Saying these things to Courtney came so easily for him cause they were true. He only ever wanted to say stuff like this to one other girl, Liz. But he never did, which is why he lost her. He wasn't gonna make that same mistake twice. He shook his head no and laughed a little bit. "No no, Liz and I are long over and we are never gonna get back together again. We are just friends, and really, that is all I ever want to be with her." Kyle told her when she asked if she should be jealous.
Really, a girl like Courtney being jealous? IT seemed weird to him, but maybe she just didn't have someone like Kyle to tell her that she had nothing to ever be jealous about. Kyle still had a lot of love for Liz, but over time that love turned into a brother sister type of love, and not the kind boyfriend and girlfriends have. He saw her basically as a sister now, his best friend and he loved her, but not like that. Courtney never had to fear Liz and his relationship, as that was the truth, they were just friends and thats all they will ever be, but Courtney and him could be more.
It just didn't feel right asking her out in that moment and he felt like he was jumping the gun, so he couldn't do it. "I just, I think you are great and was wondering how did you become so amazing?" Kyle asked her, thinking it was a nice safe to be honest. But he was still a nervous wreck. It was like he was asking a girl out for the very first time, and it just felt scary to him. He really had to relax as it seemed like she wanted him to ask her out, but he just couldn't do it, hopefully soon he would be able to ask her out and then find out her answer hoping it to be yes.
In high school, Kyle did charm women to make out with him. It didn't feel right and he could never go all the way with them. He wanted real love, not love for a randy teenage girl. So over the years he learned to be sweet and funny and kind. Sure girls wanted the bad boy like he was in high school, but at the end of the day, those weren't the kind of girls he wanted. He wanted a girl like Courtney, who was sweet, funny and kind like him. So it made sense to change his ways. He would never take advantage of her and would only sleep with her if they were in love.
"Really, a girl like you should be really confident. I am not to good for you, you are so amazing really. I don't want you to ever think that again, ok." Kyle told her, honestly. He really didn't want her to think he was to good for her, he wanted her to think they were perfect for each other. "I guess I just saw the way I treated Liz and knew that it wasn't the right way to treat women, so I changed myself. I am no saint either." Kyle told her honestly when she asked why was he the sweetest guy. "I just want to be the guy girls trust and love, you know. I want to make my father proud." Kyle told her honestly.
"That is so awesome. You know, it could help with my diets and such, I usually break machines when I try to mess with them, unless they are cars." Kyle told her when she explained the juicer to him. It was hard to maintain a healthy diet and he needed such a machine, but he would break it the first time he used it, he knew it. "Like I said the guys were morons for passing you up and the girls were idiots for passing me up. But they did us a favor, as none of them have ever compared to you." He told her honestly. He liked flirting with her, and he could tell she liked it too.
"You did?" Kyle asked her, plucking up the courage to place his hand on hers again when she said she liked it. He smiled at her. "I like it to." He added. He then waited breathlessly after he asked her out, hoping, preying she would say yes. He couldn't believe he got the courage to do so when he backed out of it just moments ago, but he did for real ask her out this time. And she said yes. "I understand that you don't want to... wait you said yes?" Kyle said a little shocked to be honest. Kyle felt 10 feet tall right now when she agreed to it.
"Wow, thank you, I can't wait for it. Really!!!" Kyle said, clear excitement in his voice. He smiled and looked down. "Sorry, I probably seem like a dork being that excited." He told her with a grin. She then asked when the date was and Kyle thought for a moment. "How bout tomorrow night? I am free if you are." Kyle asked her hoping she would say yes, he really just couldn't wait to see her again, and the sooner the better really. He was still pumped from her saying yes and now thought he was silly for fearing that she was gonna say no.

I don't want to be, Anything other than what I've been trying to be lately
Courtney really needed to take her own advice, she usually didn't but she was thinking now she should. Just be happy, that was simple enough right? In the past it would have been really hard but right now, it wasn't, maybe it was because she had met Kyle and the fact that the two were hitting it off. She had felt alone and unhappy before he had helped her, the girl didn't realize until now because she was just so busy with her career and not thinking about relationships and friendships that she just didn't have time to be think about herself being unhappy. Life was crazy, but that was just how it was and she learned to deal with it, it'd be great if she could deal with it with Kyle. She had never thought she'd find someone, and this little meeting didn't mean it was set in stone, but it was still a start of something, something she hadn't had in a long time. She'd be stupid to ruin something that could be great. The girl did have trouble opening up but with Kyle he made it easy plus she didn't want to be closed off. With time she knew that he could heal all of her wounds and she could do the same thing for him, if the two made it passed today of course. She was hoping that everything would turn out well, he was such a great guy and she didn't want such a great guy walking out of her life, she liked talking to him and she didn't want to stop talking to him, as he made her happy. "You're just saying that," she said with a smile as he called her amazing. She had never had a guy call her amazing, well she has but this one was a lot more genuine than the others. And he meant it, the other guys just said it to get their way in her heart, which was a good way of doing it and she told herself she wouldn't fall for it again, but Kyle was so believable. "God Kyle, keep up with the compliments, you're really sweet," she told the man and then gave him a peck on the cheek. "Thank you so much," she really needed to hear those words and the fact that he thought them made her all the happier. She wanted him to know that so she though kissing him on the cheek would be the best way to show her thanks and also how much it meant to her to say it to her. Today really was her lucky day. She just wanted to get to know the man better, she wanted to be able to trust him with her secrets and she wanted him to trust her with his. Her secret was probably a lot bigger than his considering she was a witch and he was just a normal guy, and hopefully he would be able to handle it. Then again, she was just a witch, it wasn't like she was some demon or vampire, she was just a girl with magical powers stuff people see on tv although it looks a lot better in real life and isn't fake. She hated how the media got the things so wrong, but she just shook her head and took the thought out of her head, she didn't want to be thinking of it at the moment. She just hoped everything worked out okay, she didn't want him going crazy or just feel weird about her being powerful, as some men didn't like that which she never got. "You're pretty special yourself to you know," she told the man. He was special, he was a sweet and caring guy who took other's feelings into consideration. He was definitely a special guy considering he had done so much or so she thought. She just hoped he saw it that way, she wasn't the only special person and if he was going to accept that then she would agree that she was special, even though she didn't do much. "Oh, okay!" Thank gosh, she was hoping to hear those words, that him and his best friend were just friends now. She didn't know how he did it, talk to someone who had broken his heart, he was truly strong for doing that which proved he was a more of an amazing guy. The girl laughed a bit, "Well, um," she actually had no answer at the moment. Why would he ask her such a difficult question? She didn't even view herself as amazing so she was just a bit confuses at the moment. "Once again, you're the nicest guy and I like you for that but really...I'm not amazing," she told him honestly. She couldn't come up with an answer so that would be the best thing to say, since she wasn't amazing or anything. She loved the compliment though, it made her want to kiss him but the girl resisted knowing it was to early to start kissing someone when they weren't even dating yet. She just didn't know what else to say or do besides say thank you, it was the only word that best suited the stuff he had said to her. The girl thought she would be okay with relationships and know what to do but she felt so inexperienced right now. It had been a while since she and a guy have had a decent conversation and the fact that she felt butterflies right now was weird. She couldn't believe the amount of years that have passed since her first relationship in high school, all she had been doing was dates. She was glad to try this out though, she wanted to see where it would go and was excited for the unknown, before her life was so predictable but this wasn't, she was glad something surprising happened today and she was hoping for mouth when I'm here. The girl sighed," okay, I won't be thinking that way for a while," she liked his encouragement, he was supporting her which she couldn't believe. "What was the old you like?" She asked him curiously. "Before Buddha?" Once again asking, she was interest about learning his laugh and She had been though, she was surprised to hear that he treated his best friend badly, she just couldn't imagine Kyle as a jerk. Maybe at first sight she could be able to see him as some type of jerk and then her perception would have changed, she had no opinion on the matter though, she was fine with just seeing him as the nice guy but the curious part of her wanted to see more. "I can teach you how to use mine...just don't break it," she said with a laugh. If he did break it she wouldn't get mad as she would have known it was an accident, he didn't seem like the clumsy time though, so nothing should break unless she was there, usually she was the clumsy one. The girl blushed once again, "You really are the perfect guy," she told him with a smile. He was being so sweet with his words and charming, she loved every second of it to be honest and she could just listen to him talk all day if she wanted to. She smiled when he put his hand back on her's and she closed her hand on his, they fit perfectly together which made her smile even bigger. "Yes, I said yes," giggling a bit. "Surprised?" She asked the man. She could tell he was really excited to go out on a date and so was she, she honestly couldn't wait to have a fun time with him. "Me neither! I can't wait to do whatever we're doing!" She said, she didn't care where they went, as long as she got to talk to him then she'd be having fun. "Yeah...a bit dorky...but cute," she told him as she looked into his blue eyes getting lost in them a little bit. He just seemed so happy and so lit up, it made her a lot more happier. She then thought for a moment, "Yeah...tomorrow works for me, I'd love to go out on a date with you tomorrow," she told him. Thank god she didn't have anything planned for that day or else that would have sucked a lot. She just wanted this date. "So..that serious question before? Were you trying to ask me out?" She asked him, maybe she was stupid...or really clever. All I have to do,Is think of me and I have peace of mind. tag; Kyle words; 1433 wearing; This! credits; template by delilahh @ CAUTION! notes; Omg...don't even talk babies like they'd be the cutest and Kyle and Courtney would be the best parents ugh I love them way too much lol<3 [/blockquote]

Kyle had felt unhappy for years. He knew he was unhappy, but there was nothing he could do about it. His friends were gone, gone to who knows where doing who knows what while he was left all alone to deal with being an alien human hybrid. His father was back in Roswell and Kyle could never see him again. Kyle had no love interest like the others did. He guessed he just got use to being lonely and alone and scared and sad and unhappy that he didn't think of it that much. Sure he had baseball, but that was it, he had nothing else.
Kyle smiled at her. "I would never say it without meaning it, I really do think you are amazing, Courtney." Kyle told her with a smile. She then thanked him and told him to keep up the compliments before placing a peck on his cheek. This cause Kyle to feel like his brain was melting. He really didn't know what to say to her kissing him on the cheek and he felt his cheeks get really really warm, way warmer then they had been with his previous blushes. He couldn't believe that Courtney kissed him, yes it was on the cheek, but it was still a great moment for him.
"Thank you." He managed to stammer out finally, thanking her for the kiss. He didn't know why he thanked her or if she even understood what the thank you was for, but it wasn't like he could form words at the present time. Her lips were soft and he could smell her perfume on her when she got close enough to kiss his cheek and he loved the smell. She really was a one of a kind girl and Kyle couldn't believe that he got so lucky to start talking to her and eventually walk her home and she was some seemingly into him as much as he was into her. It was a dream come true.
"You think so?" Kyle asked her when she said that he was pretty special too. Well she was kind of right, he was, but maybe not for the reasons she was thinking. "Thanks, I am glad you think so." Kyle told her honestly. It meant a lot to Kyle that Courtney thought that about him. He didn't want her thinking that he was just some normal average guy that just wanted to get into her pants. Kyle hasn't been that guy for a long time, and even when he was that guy he never went though with it. He wanted her to like him, maybe even love him.
Loving each other was a long ways off. He knew that and would admit it. But he couldn't help but want it. He hasn't had real love in a long time, and even with Liz, it wasn't really love, he was to young to say that he loved her, but he knows how that he loves her as a friend. Courtney was different, he was old enough now to realize that he could see himself loving her for real, and that was both scary and wonderful at the same time. "Thanks, I am special aren't I?" Kyle asked her with a smile, he has never felt more special then in this moment right now.
"I know the answer." Kyle said to her when she seemed to be lost as to what to say to him when he told her she was amazing. Smiling at her Kyle spoke. "Because you just are. You were born special. You don't even have to try, you just have to be you." He told her honestly. He frowned. "Then I must be blind and stupid, because I think you are amazing, so if you say you are not then there is something wrong with me." He told her honestly. Courtney was special, at least to him, and that was all that really mattered in this moment.
"You better not missy." Kyle told her poking her playfully in the arm. He didn't like her putting herself down and he didn't want her to do it ever again. It made him feel bad, especially since he was telling Courtney that he liked her and how he thought she was amazing and she still didn't believe it. It made him feel like his opinion didn't matter to her and that kind of hurt him. He knew she wasn't doing it on purpose, but he still wanted her to believe in herself like he believed in her at this moment. She just had to have confidence and she would be perfect in his eyes.
"Well, you wouldn't like pre-Buddah me very much." Kyle told her honestly with a frown. "I was angry, mean, rude, I even betrayed people I cared about and that led me to getting shot. I was not a good person." Kyle told her honestly, he wanted to be truthful with her, even if the truth was bad and it hurt him to speak of it, but she had the right to know that he did at one point have that side in him, maybe it was long gone, hopefully. But what if it was still inside of him, dormant and waiting to come out and last out and hurt or scare her. He didn't want to think about that happening.
"I hope you don't want to push me away after finding this out. But at one point I was not a very good person and I just want to be honest and tell you that it is in me." Kyle admitted to her, hoping she didn't tell him to get lost at this revelation. He really did feel bad about what he did back then, to Liz, Max even his own father. And if it cost him this relationship, then so be it. It would crush him, but at the end of the day he would understand and respect her wishes. He just hoped it didn't come to that as he was really digging her.
"Yeah that would be nice. I am not clumsy in general, but technology and me just don't get along." Kyle told her honestly. He smiled at her when she called him the perfect guy. "Well I think you are the perfect girl, and please don't disagree with me. To me, you are the perfect girl." Kyle told her in response. He really didn't want her to say that she wasn't this time. She agreed no more badmouthing herself. Taking her hand in his, feeling the softness of her skin and the warmth of her hand, he couldn't believe that she actually grabbed his hand back.
"Well, I guess I am surprised. I was hoping you would say yes and you did. Normally when I hope like that it doesn't come true. Buddah is on my side for this one." He told her honestly, he honestly was shocked that she said yes. But he was pleased and he felt like he was on cloud 9 right now and the girl was the angel he met on the cloud. He wanted to kiss her on the cheek, but settled for raising her hand up to his lips and kissing it gently, figuring that it was a non-threatening motion that also expressed how he felt in this moment quite nicely.
"Great, I can't wait." Kyle said when she agreed that tomorrow worked for her as well. It was nice having a date planned and part of him just wanted to run and tell Liz and everyone else that he knew and loved that he might of found someone finally. They had to be excited for him, right? He was the one that was always passed up and they would be thrilled that he finally had someone that everything could work out with. They still had a ways to go though, so he didn't want to jinx it yet. He nodded at her next question, yeah he did want to ask her earlier.
"Yes, I wanted too earlier, but I was too shy. I thought you were gonna say no. And honestly, that would of killed me. I am glad you said yes." Kyle told her truthfully, it really did make his day that she agreed to date him.

I don't want to be, Anything other than what I've been trying to be lately
Courtney was finally ready to give love a chance, she wasn't saying she was in love with this guy considering they only met, but she was ready to try to let a guy in. Yes, the girl had been hurt a lot in the past, but maybe every single thing happened for a reason, maybe all of those events were supposed to lead up to Kyle. She could just be crazy and be wrong but she didn't want to be wrong, she wanted Kyle to be that guy that could heal her wounds. Was that to much to ask? Or was it to little? She didn't really know, she was hoping to find out though, the more they talked maybe the more fixed she'd be. Courtney could see herself really falling for the guy, under the right circumstances of course. She was already falling pretty hard, and she really didn't want to be the one to care more and then get hurt in the end. The girl blushed a bit, god, he was so nice and she had no idea how a guy like him ever existed. "Seriously how do guys like you exist?" She asked the man. She just refused to believe this was all real, the girl felt like she was dreaming right now and she knew wasn't, but she really wanted to pinch herself right now. So many girl's would have been lucky to have him, and he could have any girl he wanted. The man was hot, funny, smart, charming, he had it all yet here he was, talking to her. He was interested in her, no other girl, he only had eyes for her at the moment. She just hoped he wasn't a bad guy or anything, and he was't going to try and play some other girl as well. "You're adorable," she told the man. He really didn't have to thank her for that peck on the cheek, it was just a peck after all. "How come you're thanking me?" She asked him. She was just confused on why he was thanking her, it wasn't like she did any nice gestures, or gave him some form of present. Hopefully he would explain, but he was still adorable. She honestly couldn't get enough of the boy, he was basically a breath of fresh air, he made the woman happy. She wondered how much more he could do considering she felt this happy in such a short amount of time. He removed a bit of her pain and loneliness that she had in the world and replaced it with happiness, and a warm feeling. "Yeah, you're one of a kind, you are Kyle," she said with a smile on her face. She wanted him to feel special, not just know it and hopefully one day he would feel it. "Actually, I don't think, I know," she told him with a big smile. She didn't know where all of this was coming from and why she was being so blunt, well actually she had always been a blunt person so she shouldn't be surprised. She was always the type of girl to say what was on her mind, if something upset her then she would confront it, and if something made her happy she'd share it, it was who she was. If that made her a bitch for telling like it was then she was a bitch and she really hoped Kyle didn't see it that way if the two ever did get into some type of confrontation. Courtney wasn't sure what a healthy and meaningful relationship was, she wanted one though. She was afraid that she would mess up something that could be good because well, he was such a great guy, what if he didn't think she was too great? Well he thought it now, but what if he got to know her more and didn't like that her? She knew she shouldn't be thinking negatively but the woman couldn't help it. "You are," she told him simply. She was glad he was feeling it now and she could tell just by the smile he had on his face, he was just perfect...no words could describe it to be honest. She didn't want this day to end but she knew that at some point it would have to sadly. "Thanks, Kyle," she told him with a soft smile. Him saying that was making her feel special, and she should feel special considering she was talking to a guy who actually made her feel nervous and happy, also just great all in one. "There's definitely nothing wrong with you," she told him reassuringly. "I guess what I'm trying to say is I don't feel like I'm amazing? If that makes sense," she was feeling a bit vulnerable for saying this but she was kind of trusting Kyle. She didn't want to be to open though, she couldn't be yet but she could at least tell him that right? That wouldn't harm her at all. She just needed to calm down a bit, the girl was always stressing out, maybe she needed Buddha, yoga would do though. "Really? How come?" She asked, he then started to explain why she wouldn't like the old him and she listened very closely. "We all lose our way sometimes Kyle, it doesn't mean you were a bad person, it just means you were lost," she told him clasping his hand a bit tighter to try and comfort him. "And just because what you did in the past is still in you doesn't mean I'm gonna push me away," she said to him. She didn't want him to think like that at all. "What matters now is you're a great guy and if you ever get lost into that dark place I'll be there to pull you back, I promise," she said with a smile. She kept her promises and no matter what she'd be there for him, if he became all bad then she'd make sure she was there to help bring him back. "Seems like Buddha has been on your side all day," she told him with a smile. She didn't mind him talking about his religion, she was fine with it actually. It was great he believed in something, he should considering the crap he had been through. She felt his lips on her hand and blushed a bit, "You really are a gentleman, how could I say no to you," she told him. She wouldn't be able to, he was sweet and she wouldn't want to break his hope or anything. She couldn't wait for the date, she knew it would be really fun but she also knew how she would be, and she would definitely be a nervous wreck and probably go through all her clothes just to try and find the perfect thing to impress him, but she didn't have to worry about that right now, thank god. "Me neither," she said excitedly. "Could I have a hint of where this date could happen?" She wanted to know so she would know what to wear for it, she didn't want to be going to the beach and end up wearing a dress, with her luck that would actually happen. A couple hints would be great, but if he didn't want to share then she would understand. "It would have?" She said feeling all good just because he would have been upset, he actually cared about the girl. "Well, I'm really happy I said yes," she said with a small smile. She was ready to give this a chance and couldn't wait for their first date. She knew it was going to be fun and maybe romantic, she was just glad to be around the man, that was what mattered the most so anywhere could work for the girl, and she hoped that he knew that, she wasn't some superficial girl. She just wanted to make sure everything would work out well, and from what she could tell Kyle was a genuine guy and he truly cared for her, he also wanted a relationship, he wasn't some player and he wasn't some creepy guy. Courtney was just glad that luck was on her side for once, and she was becoming happy, or slowly becoming happy. Kyle shrugged when she asked how guys like him existed. "I just drag myself out of bed every morning and put my pants on one leg at a time." Kyle told her with a grin. Really he didn't see himself as special. Sure he wasn't really human, but he knew others like him, so it wasn't like that made him special. And many girls didn't see it in him either, but Courtney thought he was special and that mattered a lot to him. He was just a normal average Joe that happened to be part alien. That's all he saw himself as at the end of the day.
"Thanks." He replied when she told him he was adorable. Not that many women said that to him, he would prefer handsome and rugged, but it felt like a compliment in this moment anyways. He shrugged when she asked why did he thank her. "I guess I thanked you because you aren't pushing me away, you think I am special and want to be around me." He told her honestly. He actually hasn't been kissed on the cheek that much. Liz did it a few times when he did something nice for her back in the day, but that was about it. And he really needed to stop thinking of Liz around her.
Seriously her thinking he was special meant the world to him, more then he could ever tell her. "Thanks, I have always felt like a normal average guy, but you make me feel like I really am special. I hope I make you feel that way as well." He told Courtney honestly, he liked that she was straight forward with him as many of the girls he tried to date were usually closed off and didn't share what they were thinking. She was different, she was the one of a kind in this situation, as she was the one that could finally change it all for Kyle.
He hoped so anyways. He nodded, he was glad that he made her feel good about herself as well. That mattered a lot, as if you couldn't feel good with the person you were with, then they were not the right person for you, at least that was the way Kyle looked at it. "Well, that is how I feel. I don't feel amazing either, but you make me feel amazing. If I do the same to you then it means we are on the right track." He told Courtney honestly. He really did wish he was as amazing as she thought he was, and he really didn't want to let her down and make her change her mind on him.
Maybe she was right, and that he shouldn't blame himself for the past. After all he did try to fix it with his friends. He did try to make it right by them, even though at the end of the day they still had to run and get separated. Still he did his best and made up for his mistakes, at least he hoped they saw it that way. "Thanks, Courtney, I will try to keep that in mind. It means a lot coming from you." He told the girl honestly. IT really did mean a lot that she thought that way, as most people would just push him away for being a jerk.
He smiled. "You promise?" He asked her though she didn't need to answer, he knew she was truthful. "Thanks, I am glad I finally have someone to look out for me." He told her, Courtney was really sweet to tell him that she would save him if he ever strayed to far from his path. It made him feel safe. It made him feel like that he would never be a jerk again like he was to Max and Liz back then, because he believed her when Courtney told him that she would make sure to pull him back, she wouldn't never lie about such a thing.
"Thanks, I do my best and I try to treat people the way I wish to be treated. Its the only way to live in my opinion." Kyle told Courtney when she called him a gentleman. She then asked how could she ever say no to him. "I guess I am just to dang irresistable." He told her with a grin, normally he would never say something so cocky sounding, so arrogant, but she seemed to think he was, and if that was the case, then he had to agree with her. He never really had to tell himself no before, but that was a bad example, meanwhile many people told him no.
"Well I would tell you, but to be honest I am kind of just winging it right now." Kyle told her honestly. He had no idea what they could do together on their date. He knew he would come up with something for him and Courtney to do, but right now it would just have to be a surprise until it is actually time for their date. She deserved a great night, but the problem was, he had no idea what to do right now. He was determined to give her the best date of her life and he wasn't gonna give up till he delivered on that.
He looked over at the clock and frowned. It was getting late, and he really should get going, but he didn't want to, but she knew he had to and probably understood. Besides she had to put her new outfits away and then get some sleep herself anyways, so they both needed to part right now, no matter how painful it was to do so. He tried his best to smile at her. "I should probably get going, thanks for the drink and everything else. I can't wait to see you tomorrow night." He told her honestly giving her one more longing look, showing her he didn't want to leave her right now, and then kissed her hand gently again.
Smiling he left her apartment and headed up, knowing that tomorrow he had a date with a beautiful wonderful meant one thing, and that was that he was gonna sleep well tonight.
