-------------------------- -------------------------- Lisa let out a heavy sigh as she headed for her car. She had no clue why she had stayed so long at Pete's Bar and Grill. She knew she had work tomorrow. But at the same time, she had needed to unwind. Things hadn't been that great at work today. Her regular boss---Mr. Peterson---had been sick which meant that the guy under him---Mr. Wentworth---was the one who supervised and he was seriously just a Grade A Dick. He was one of those guys who thought being a secretary meant that you were supposed to cater to his every whim other than actually doing her job. Yup, today had sucked, which was why she had stayed out later than normal drowning her sorrows in a Rootbeer. Oh, she would've chosen something stronger, but she still had work tomorrow and the last thing she needed was a hangover on top of everything else. Approaching footsteps caused her to falter. Was there someone else here? She then gave herself a mental shake. It was probably just someone else who had stayed late. Get a grip, girl, she told herself. It was nothing. Then again, with everything that she had learned about the Supernatural from Dean, she wasn't too sure if she could be so confident about there being nothing in the shadows. Immediately, she straightened her stance and started looking around her even as she continued towards her car. If there was something out there, she wasn't going to just be another victim. She'd make the thing fight for it. Of course, it could also be a regular person. Well, she wouldn't be a victim for them either. That was why she had started taking self-defense classes. Not that she had any guarantee that the lessons would help her to fight off the type of creatures that the Winchesters fought, but it made her feel better knowing that she wasn't just some damsel in distress. Without warning, something roared and she felt herself being pushed to the ground. Instinctively, she placed her hands out to brace her fall, and then she rolled over brought her knees up so whoever had pushed her wouldn't be able to straddle her. She had no idea what to expect but she wasn't going to make things easy. However, she was jumped on and pinned and her eyes widened when she saw the monstrous visage of the male on top of her. "What in the world?!" she asked. This didn't look like the thing Ben had described as his captor. In fact, from the looks of it, it looked like what Dean had describe as a vampire, though she couldn't be sure. He growled menacingly and his grip on her wrists tightened. He then bore down, fangs drawn, obviously intending to bite her. "NO!" she shouted. "SOMEBODY HELP ME!" she screamed. Yeah, she didn't mind admitting that she was scared. So much for her self-defense classes... OOC I couldn't remember what I said her boss' name was in a previous thread. I even checked the archives for the thread, so sorry for the inconsistency. --------------------------

------------------------------ ------------------------------ The moon was at it's fullest tonight, the air was alive with.. emotion, and a grand mixture of scents due to the upraise in activity. The reason he was out currently? Buffy. He knew that she held other commitments such as helping potentials, on top of spending time with her friends, and balancing work load there really was only so much one slayer could do, despite the fact there were now two other slayers in the picture.. there still was only so much ground they could cover, especially due to the fact that it was a full moon. This reason alone was way Angel had opted in to help, he didn't mind it after all and it wasn't like he had anything better to do. It had also been sometime since he had seen any action, not that he craved it.. or anything like that. It was a part of him.. the need to kill. He was a vampire after all.
It was during one of his many strolls that night, just as he thought about heading down a different route did he hear a sudden scream. Instantly he tensed, his entire body wired to explode. Within moments, he made his way to the event that was unfolding before him. As if a switch was triggered, His face shifted. With his fangs bared, Angel was swift to interfere, grabbing the vampire from behind Angel hauled the vampire of the female, only to through him several yards away. The vampire before him was young, clearly recently risen, his movements were sloppy if not predictable and he clearly lacked any form of plan. Yet, despite the vampires habit, he certainly packed a punch. The man was taller then Angel himself, and had twice the muscle. All brawn and no brain, it was due to this advantage alone that Angel was thus able to quickly deal with the man.
Having delivered several punches coupled with a few kicks, Angel grabbed the first available thing he could find in which he drove right into the man's heart. As dust hit the ground, Angel collected himself, only the to grow aware of the female.. the female who still remained there.. perhaps in shock? Relaxing as he could, his face turned back to normal as he adjusted his leather jacket and cautiously approached the female. "Are you alright..?" As stupid as it sounded, it was the least he could do, as well as keep his distance.

-------------------------- -------------------------- Lisa honestly hadn't thought that anyone would hear her cry for help, but obviously someone had because the next thing she knew her attacker was being pulled off of her and she scrambled to her feet and watched as her rescuer fought the thing. Wow. He's really skilled, she thought to herself. Was he another hunter? And if so, did Dean and Sam know him? She wasn't even sure of how the hunting world worked. Was there like a network or something? Well, whatever the case, this guy had just saved her and she was extremely grateful. She wasn't sure what she would've done if he hadn't heard her and come to investigate. Well, other than die, that is. Lisa wasn't an idiot. She knew that she was no hunter and that she didn't stand a chance against Supernatural creatures, which her situation had just proved, much to her chagrin. Great, Lisa. Way to go, she thought to herself. She should have had someone walk her out to her car. What had she been thinking? Oh, right. She hadn't been. Instead, she had been too focused on her crappy day. Smooth. Real smooth. She watched as the two men fought until her rescuer finally ended the fight by jamming something at the other man who then disappeared in a cloud of dust, causing the woman to gasp. I thought Dean said vampires had to be beheaded, she thought to herself. And if that guy hadn't been a vampire, what had it been? Certainly not whatever had once kidnapped Ben. She watched as he approached her---probably trying not to scare her but Lisa wasn't sure---asking if she was all right. "Yeah, just a little banged up. What---what was that thing?" she wondered, trying to remain calm, but probably failing. She had no idea why she had been targeted, and she didn't like it. Nope, she didn't like it one little bit. But at least she didn't have to worry about it anymore, thanks to this guy. Lisa looked at the man who had saved her. He was somewhat tall and wearing a leather jacket. Dean looks better in one, she thought to herself. Oh no, she wasn't biased at all. "Thanks for the save. I can't believe I was stupid enough to walk to my car alone at this time of night. I mean, what was I thinking?" she told him as she berated herself. "I know better that, honestly," she told him. For some reason, she wanted this guy to know that she wasn't usually such an airhead. However, it was probably too late to change his opinion of her as he already probably thought it of her. Oh, well. It wasn't like she could do anything about it. "So...are you a hunter?" she questioned. --------------------------

Having dispatched of the vampire fairly quickly, Angel was also quick to retract his fangs and return his face to it's original form. The last thing the female wanted, was to know that her so called savior was actually in a sense one of the enemy. As he faced the female it was evident, in they way she merely sat there that she was perhaps in shock some what? It was due to this reason alone the Angel approached her with caution. The surrounding area was 'safe' so he felt, for there were certainly no others near by save from the odd human he could smell, in fact two which he could smell a block away wrapped around each other against a building wall. As he glanced over the female briefly he made sure she was unharmed physically, although mentally was perhaps another matter.
Yeah, just a little banged up. What---what was that thing? was the woman's reply.. certainly not what he accepted.. in fact, the very idea that she was still here was surprise enough, any sane woman would of ran as fast as they could. However name came the fact of explaining what that creature had been. He could hardly lie, the female had seen far to much.. "That.. was what you refer to as a vampire.." Was the simplest answer he could give. What was the point in buttering it up? she had seen first hand just what it was, how it had died among other things.
Having stepped that fraction closer, Angel extended his hand towards the female in offer to help her up. She was also quick to seem apologetic.. which confused Angel somewhat, why did she feel the need to defend and justify her reason for being out here? it wasn't like she had done anything wrong. With a tentative smile, Angel replied. "We all do it.. " Which was true, humans had progressively become slightly more stupid since back in the day, it was as if now a day's they rarely thought about anything, let alone what was sensible.
Even as he helped the female up she continued to ramble on, to which Angel raised his hand as if to usher her into silence, and calm her clearly jittery nerves. "It's alright, truly." He reinforced. He was under the impression that this female merely wished to impress him, or perhaps merely defend herself. Either one he wasn't sure about. When she mentioned Hunter, Angel paused and a small frown marred his brown. "No.. I'm not.. how do you know of them?" He questioned, of course he had never actually met Sam or Dene but he had heard of them through Buffy, where she had also explained what they were, and what they did. Which essentially was another form of slayer.. he had come across their type during his early years and Angelus.. of course.. they had more or less been wiped out..

-------------------------- -------------------------- From the way this guy was looking at her, Lisa was almost positive he had been checking to make sure she wasn't injured, which was sweet. But thankfully, she wasn't. At least, nothing that she couldn't fix up before Dean came home tonight as she didn't want him freaking out because she was a little scraped up. He had enough to worry about and she didn't want to do anything that would add to his concerns. When she heard that the thing that had attacked her been a vampire, she nodded. "I thought it might be. Heard of 'em. Never seen one before though. Do they all turn to dust like that?" she wondered. I got ambushed by a vampire. Great, she sarcastically thought to herself. Well, at least that explained the uncommon strength the guy had. It had felt like she had been pinned by granite or something. Okay, men were stronger than her anyways, but she was usually able to fend them off better. Yes, she had had to fend off guys advances before, though none of them had been anything like what had happened tonight. He offered her hand and she took it, standing up as she did so. She then smiled as he told her that everyone had their dumb moments. "Yeah, I guess you're right," she agreed, feeling a sense of relief that he wasn't being condescending about the situation as a lot of guys probably would have been. Dean wouldn't have been of course, but he probably would've yelled at her a little just to hide his concern. And apparently, her rambling had gone on longer than she thought, for he put up a hand and told her that it was all right. "I guess I'm rambling a bit, huh?" she questioned, throwing him a rueful grin. "I just didn't want you thinking I was one of those typical stupid females who got attacked because they didn't pay attention to their surroundings," she explained. And now that she said that out loud, she realized how stupid that must have sounded. Okay, so it was apparently time to change the topic. At her questions, he answered to the negative and asked her how she knew of them. "I'm dating one. Which is why I'm more than a little embarrassed that I put myself in this situation," she replied. After all, since she and Dean were dating, she knew better than most what was out there and should've been more alert. She couldn't help but feel foolish for not having her guard up. But at least this guy wasn't tearing into her about it, so that was a plus she supposed. "I should've known better," she said. -----------------------

The fact that the female admitted to hearing about vampires.. was.. unusual, it wasn't everyday vampire went about announcing their existence. Which begged the question how much did this woman know? and what would it mean? "Well.. it's complicated." He begun, Buffy had of course told him about the new development.. there were seemingly three types of vampires from what he had gathered from what Buffy had told him. Those that had to be be-headed, those that when you staked turned dead before turning into dust, and those that literally combusted into a pile of ash. "There are three type to my knowledge.. so the answer would be yes and no" He replied before helping the female to her feet.
At any rate, despite how he insisted that she was fine, that there really was nothing wrong with walking alone. For every female and male did it all the time.. it was just a matter of luck and where you were at what time. When she said she was rambling, Angel nodded and offered her a small smile. "Where about do you live? If you like I can walk you back?" he offered politely, before he chuckled lowly at her comment. Why were females so concerned about their appearance? and how they looked to others? he certainly didn't think she was stupid.. foolish? yes but they were two different things entirely, everyone made mistakes. At least now she could learn from it.
When she said that she was dating a Hunter, Angel arched his eyebrow.. he knew of two, two of which Buffy had of course mentioned, in attempts to give Angel the heads up, saying that they weren't a duo to be trifled with, and they would often kill and ask questions later. Yet with the noted he accepted it for what it was, who wouldn't want to kill a vampire? "I see.. I don't suppose his name would be Dean or Sam by any chance?" he inquired, curious to know who she was with. He smiled a rueful smile as he begun to walk beside the female, his hands buried within the pockets of his jacket.
"I can see why that would prove to be somewhat embarrassing, but you are human after all, it's part of our nature to be reckless at times." he admitted, despite the fact that the 'our' part was a lie, for he was far from human. It almost made him sick to compare himself with them.. he was nothing like them, he was a demon who had killed in cold blood without thought or mercy.. he didn't deserve to be called anything but demonic. On top of that however, he did envy the humans a great deal.. their emotional rage was beyond anything he could comprehend. "At any rate, i wouldn't worry too much about it, your alive and that's the main thing." He reminded her.

-------------------------- -------------------------- As she was helped up, Lisa raised an eyebrow at the guy as he said that it was complicated and that---to his knowledge---there were three different species, which meant that the answer to her question was "Yes" and "No". Well, that's nice and vague, she thought to herself. But maybe he wasn't quite sure how to explain things in a way she'd understand. And that made sense in a way. After all, it couldn't be easy to have to explain the Supernatural world to someone. Heck, if it hadn't been for the fact that Ben had been kidnapped, Lisa was pretty sure that Dean probably would've kept her in the dark and had just gone on his way. Then he asked her where she lived and offered to drive her home. "Actually, my car's on the other side of the parking lot. It's a blue station wagon. Do you mind walking me to it?" she queried. It was after all, where she was headed. The vampire had just detained her a bit. "Detained her a bit"? Since when did she talk like that? Maybe she was more rattled than she had originally thought. Well then, it was a good thing that this guy was walking her to her car. She'd be able to relax on the way and then she'd be able to drive home. To her surprise, the fact that she was dating a hunter didn't seem to phase him and then asked if his name was Sam or Dean. "Dean actually. I take it you've heard of them," she commented. Well, this could go either way she supposed. But first she'd have to see what this guy what this guy was all about before saying anything more about her lover and his brother. Yes, the guy had saved her and she was grateful, but she wasn't just going to automatically trust this guy with Dean and Sam's secret. She knew better than that. She then nodded in agreement as he said that he could understand why she was a bit embarrassed and reminded her that she was only human and that it was part of their nature to be reckless at times. "Yeah, I suppose that's true," she agreed. Heaven knew she had been reckless plenty of times in the past and she felt like she had made a big mistake tonight. bit at least this guy wasn't chewing her out about it---which she was grateful for. Then he was continuing on, saying that she shouldn't worry to much about it because at least she was alive, which was the important thing. "You're right," she agreed. She was alive. She was going to be grateful for that. --------------------------

When the woman asked that Angel escort her towards her car he nodded. At least his wonderings hadn't been a complete waste of time.. to think had he not been out another life would of been lost. Nodding in reply, Angel pushed the thought aside he still had time accepting the fact that he really was.. in a sense doing good and that was the important thing.. another life had been saved because he had been out. Nodding further as she mentioned Dean he replied shortly after. "In a sense yes.. " he mused, which was the truth. He had heard of them.. although not a great deal. He hadn't asked Buffy set questions based upon the two of them. All he needed to know was who they were, what they were and how they acted. With that answered, there was little else he wished to know, or cared to know for that matter.
"Buffy Summers told me of them actually. She speaks highly of them." came his reply, so short and blunt. Whether or not the woman had heard of Buffy was none of his business, but he certainly wasn't about to give out details.. which was perhaps exactly what this woman was doing when it came to the two men. That reason alone was precisely why he didn't press the matter any further. Finally when the woman came to terms over the fact that there was nothing wrong with being caught off guard. Angel reached the car only to turn towards her. "Are you sure you will be okay driving home? perhaps you should call Dean and have him pick you up?" He offered, despite the fact she claimed to be fine.. he didn't know her state mentally.
After all she had nearly been killed by a Vampire.. yet she was taking the news far to well. More so than he thought she would. "If not Dean, then I would suggest that you call someone at least." He added, his tone firm. Humans were so fragile at times, that too was something he had to remind himself off. He knew that he would at least be in a better frame of mind knowing that he had truly saved the woman's life. Rather than to of saved it, and for her to end up dead somewhere else seconds later. Call him paranoid and a pessimist, if you will.

-------------------------- -------------------------- Lisa nodded as he stated that he had heard of Dean in a sense. To be honest, she wasn't all that surprised at the vague answer. Even if he was a hunter, it didn't mean that they would automatically know each other, and even if they had only heard about each other in passing, she couldn't imagine that they would do anything to put the other person in danger. Or maybe that was just her. She had always believed that if you knew someone and they were a good person or had the reputation of being a good person, you stuck by them no matter what. Yes, you could disagree with them---goodness knew that she and Dean disagreed on things in the past---but still, you stuck by them and she'd stick by Dean no matter what. Hearing the name of the woman who had told him about the Winchesters, Lisa frowned in concentration. Buffy Summers. Hadn't Sarah mentioned a Buffy? "The name sounds familiar. I think I may know a friend of hers. Sarah Blake," she mentioned. Well, she wasn't sure if this Buffy girl would exactly call Sarah a friend, but then, what did she really know about Sarah's line of work? All she really knew was that she had a job that was similar to what Dean and Sam did. And she had to admit, she felt a tiny bit jealous that Sam's girlfriend could relate to them in a way that she would never be able to. When they got to her car, the guy asked her if she was sure she was okay, suggesting that she should call Dean to come pick her up. "I think I'll be okay to drive, but yeah, I'll definitely call Dean," she said. Truth be told, she had no idea why she was feeling so calm. Had she gone into some type of shock? That was entirely possible. She then took her keys out, unlocked her car, opened the door, and then got in as the guy said that if she didn't call Dean, she should call someone else. "Of course," she nodded in agreement. He was absolutely right of course. Dean---or someone else---needed to be called and told about what had happened. Yeah, she'd probably be calling Dean. Even though nothing had happened, he'd want to know. Heck, he deserved to know. After all, if their situations were reversed, she'd want to know if Dean had been attacked, and he'd want to know if she had been attacked. So yeah, she'd make sure that he knew about what had happened. --------------------------
