----------------------- ----------------------- Tyler let out a sigh as he slung his backpack over his shoulder and headed for class. Caroline was still pissed at him. And he couldn't really blame her. He had lied to her again and then hadn't explained why Lilly-Beth's scent was all over his house other than saying that she was having some difficulties with the Sire-bond. But that didn't really tell Caroline anything. For all she knew, he could be lying about what was going on...which he kind of was. But he couldn't break the Lilly-Beth's confidence and this way Klaus didn't find out what he was up to. As he had stated, he could live with Caroline's hate, but he could never live with her death on his hands. He shook these thoughts off and then headed for his first class. But in all honesty, he didn't really feel like going. And why should he be? He was too worried about Lilly-Beth. He knew that the girl hated to be cooped up, though it was necessary. The less people who knew about her appearance in Mystic Falls, the better. Plus he had to think of something that could help her. But what? How could he come up with a way for her to break the Sire-bond without her wolf going nuts? He let out a breath. He really wished that he knew what to do. But to be truthful, he had no idea on how to even research something like this. What am I going to do? he wondered to himself. He had had some ideas, but he had quickly realized that there was no way that he could do them. Maybe I could ask someone in Jules' pack, he thought to himself. Though to be honest, he wasn't all that sure that they'd even talk to him as he had cut them off after the sacrifice that had killed Jules. Okay, yeah, he could understand them being upset, but what did they want? For him to die instead? And going off on that, how was he supposed to help Lilly-Beth? He let out a breath and he leaned against a locker and banged his head against the metal. This was all too much for him. Why had he agreed to help Lilly-Beth when it was obvious that he he didn't even have a clue on how to start? It wasn't like he had a manual for any of this. But how could he tell her that he had no clue on how to help her? "You suck," he muttered to himself. Sometimes he really hated all this Supernatural drama. -----------------------

Stefan felt so upset at Tyler over how he treated Caroline and how she reacted over it. Caroline didn't deserve to be treated like that and Stefan planned on confronting Tyler over it. At least when Stefan did something stupid that upset the people he cared about, he usually had a reason for it. The way Caroline put it, it made Tyler seem like a heartless jerk that lied to her for no reason. Sure Stefan was gonna give Tyler the benefit of the doubt, let him explain himself before he decided to bash his head into the lockers, but he better come up with something good.
Stefan didn't want to take Caroline's word for it, even though she was one of his best friends, as he knew darn well that there were two sides to every story. Maybe Tyler wasn't the heartless douchebag Caroline thought he was. That was the goal of confronting him, to find out if he deserved having his head thrown against the locker or not. Caroline never asked him to do this, in fact she might even disapprove of him even talking to Tyler, but what Caroline doesn't know, won't hurt her. Stefan had to fix her social life, he owed her that, and so much more. She didn't deserve to get the cold shoulder from everyone.
Approaching Tyler's locker, he was thankful the hallways weren't crowded. To many bodies would mean to much temptation, but right now everyone was either in class or going to class, so the chances of Tyler being at his locker were really slim, he would wait there all period if he had to. He spotted Tyler a little ways away from his locker leaning against another locker and approached him, hearing Tyler mumble the two words You suck to himself. "I'll say." Stefan said to him, approaching him and standing a few feet from him.
"You do suck, for treating Caroline like that. Put aside your past relationship with her, she thought you were friends and you did that to her? Did she not mean anything to you?" Stefan asked him, ok so he wasn't giving him much chance to explain his side of the story. So Stefan decided to stop before he got to upset or said something to wrong and just stood there. "Well?" He asked impatiently, he was sure Tyler had his own little story to tell, the validity of that story will dictate rather or not Stefan decided to stuff Tyler into a locker.

----------------------- ----------------------- Hearing another voice agreeing with him, Tyler turned in the direction of the sound. "Salvatore," he noted as the other boy approached him. Yeah, they both went to Mystic Falls High and they both had a secret to keep, but it didn't necessarily mean that they were friends or anything. And how could they be? The guy had helped to kill his uncle. So yeah, there wasn't really a whole lot of love there. After all, if the guy could kill his uncle, what was to say that he wouldn't some day do the same to him? Then there had been the whole no humanity/working for Klaus thing he had heard about. Of course, he couldn't really judge the Klaus scenario as he had no idea what was going on, but the whole no humanity thing had sounded pretty crazy. Of course, he couldn't exactly say that he could blame the guy for wanting to shut everything off. Klaus could drive a guy crazy and he was pretty sure that dealing with him was easier when you didn't have any emotions. But then again, what did he really know about the Original? Not a damn thing except that he was the guy who had almost used him in a crazy sacrifice, had turned him into a Hybrid, and then told to stay away from Caroline. So yeah, Klaus wasn't exactly a friend of his. He listened as he said that he did suck for treating Caroline like the way he did as she had thought that they were friends and then asked him if she had even meant anything to him. She told him? Why would she tell him? he wondered. But then again, why wouldn't she tell him? Tyler knew that they had a strong friendship. "Of course she means something to me. And I know she's pissed at me. But it's the lesser of two evils," he responded. It wasn't like he could tell him about Lilly-Beth. No. No one could find about her. Not if he wanted to keep her safe. And he did want to keep her safe. So he'd do anything to make sure that he could do it...even if it meant lying to the girl he still loved more than anything. He wouldn't risk getting her killed. And he wouldn't risk Lilly-Beth either. He couldn't. She was trusting him. And he couldn't betray that... He let out another sigh and shifted his stance so that he was standing up straight. "So, does she know that you're here playing her knight in shining armor?" he questioned, crossing his arms. He knew Caroline and he had a feeling that if she didn't know about this and she did find out, she'd probably be pissed. Heck, anyone who knew Caroline even remotely knew that she was more than capable of defending herself. "Look, like I said, I know Care's pissed at me, but it's better this way," he said. Then, "So, how much of this are you going to be reporting back to him? 'Cause if he asks, I'm just doin' what he told me to: staying away from her," he stated and then shifted his backpack on his shoulder and headed down the hall. Okay, maybe that was a bit harsh, but for all he knew, Stefan was still doing Klaus' dirty work, though from what he had seen, that wasn't very likely. Note: Hi. And Tyler's just being Tyler, so I fully expect Stefan to pursue. -----------------------

"Maybe you should let Caroline decide that for herself what is better for her? She can take care of herself you know." Stefan said when Tyler tried to brush off the fact that he hurt Caroline. Tyler making those decisions on what was best for her, what was the lesser of two evils for Caroline was wrong. "Why, whats so important that you have to lie to Caroline? The fact that your living and seeing another girl and didn't even have enough respect for Caroline to tell her?" Stefan asked, so far Tyler's story was not making a very good case for the hybrid right now.
"Not exactly." Stefan told Tyler as he asked if Caroline knew about this conversation or not. Yeah, Caroline would freak out at Stefan for doing this, but he had to and she would get over it, it wasn't as bad as what Tyler did at least. "Why is it better this way?" Stefan asked Tyler. Tyler had yet to speak an excuse that made it seem alright. The only thing that was established was that Tyler lied about living with another girl to Caroline's face, and Caroline felt betrayed about it. Saying she was better off this way and telling him why was two very different things.
Then Tyler started to walk away making a crack to Stefan about how much he is gonna report back to Klaus. "I'm not under his sire bond, Lockwood, like you." Stefan said, sure Stefan made some mistakes when it came to Klaus, but it was done now. He still thought Tyler was under the sire bond. "In case you haven't heard I am not on his side any more. So I won't be telling him any of this." Stefan said, feeling a little bit defensive about the whole situation. Maybe it was a bad idea to inform Tyler that he was no long compelled to have his humanity off, but oh well.
"What about you? Gonna rat me out for not having my humanity off?" Stefan said grabbing Tyler's shoulder and swinging him around to make the hybrid face him. Stefan knew he was acting like a huge jerk right now, but it was Caroline, one of his best friends, someone who was there for him when Lexi couldn't be. "Look, Tyler. I am sorry, ok. Just tell me why. Tell me why Caroline thinks you hate her and are a jerk, that's all I want to know." He said, trying to calm the situation as things were getting intense and he didn't want something really bad to happen.

----------------------- ----------------------- Tyler's eyes clouded as Stefan asked if Caroline shouldn't make the decision for herself what was best for her as she was capable of taking care of herself. Maybe he was right. Caroline wasn't exactly what you would call a damsel in distress. No! He couldn't afford to cave on any of this. "I know she can take care of herself, but her being around me isn't beneficial to her safety anymore," he said. He wasn't going to get her killed just because he was stupid enough to go up against a creature that was stronger and more powerful than he was. He may not be as smart as some of his other classmates, but he wasn't a complete idiot. But he couldn't admit the truth to anyone. It was too dangerous for everyone he cared about. At the question of what was so important that he had to lie to Caroline, Tyler just averted his eyes. "Stay out of our business," he muttered. Not that he had any intention of telling anybody about this, but if he did, it certainly wouldn't be to Stefan Salvatore. When the vampire continued, mentioning that he was seeing and living with another girl and didn't have enough respect for Caroline to even tell her about it. "That's not---" he started to say angrily. Keep cool! This could be the reaction Klaus wants, he thought to himself. "I'm a dick. Caroline knew that even before she got involved with me. She shouldn't really be surprised that I've moved on," he said, trying not to wince internally. Yeah, Caroline would definitely kill him for that one...if Stefan didn't do it first. And given what he had just said to the vampire, he probably would kill him. He then gave him a grim smile as the other boy responded that the blonde didn't know that they were talking. "She's not too fond of people meddling into her business. Careful she doesn't find out. She'll kick your ass," he cautioned. Well, she'd probably try. He had no idea if his ex could take the vampire in front of him, but wouldn't be surprised if she gave it her all. When he asked why it was better the way things were, Tyler just shook his head. "It's none of your business," he replied. "Look, why don't you just drop it and forget we even had this conversation? I'm sure it'll be better for everyone in the long run," he said and then headed off. He had only gone a few steps when Stefan started speaking again, saying that he wasn't under a Sire-bond like he was, causing the Hybrid to falter. "It's better than having to lock myself up every full moon," he responded. "You can't imagine what it's like having every bone in your body break and then having to worry about mauling someone to death," he added bitterly. Of course, that was of no consequence now but he wasn't going to say anything. Hey for all he knew, this was some kind of test. Almost as soon as the thought crossed his mind, he dismissed it, though a part of him still told him to be cautious. And he was going o go with that part of himself. He had to be careful. When Stefan said that he wasn't on Klaus' side which meant that he wasn't going to be telling Klaus about the conversation, Tyler gave a curt nod. "Good. Now do us both a favor and forget about it yourself," he told him and once more headed in the direction of his next class. At Stefan's question of whether or not he was gonna tell Klaus that he had his humanity on, Tyler glanced at him over his shoulder. "What do I care whether or not you have your humanity? It's not like we're even friends. So this whole buddy-buddy thing you're trying on Care's behalf is really unnecessary," he told him as he continued walking. And he was back to acting like a dick. But it was just safer that way. He had to sell it. He had to make everyone believe he was still Sired to Klaus. And if Caroline and the others didn't believe it, Klaus wouldn't. And the only way he could make them believe it was to act like it, which---unfortunately---meant acting like a dick. Even if his friends---what few of them he actually had---ended up hating him, at least they'd still be alive. And that was good enough for him. -----------------------

"Whats that suppose to mean? Tyler, you would never try to hurt Caroline would you? So why are you worried about her safety around you?" Stefan asked him, it was an honest question, but Tyler had been avoiding giving honest answers this whole time, so why would he start now? He heard Tyler tell him to stay out of their business. "She is one of my best friends. Her business is my business." Stefan told him honestly. If Caroline didn't want Stefan to know about all of this, she wouldn't of told him.
When Tyler said that Caroline shouldn't be surprised that he moved on, Stefan balled up his fist and nearly socked the hybrid on the jaw. "She means that little to you that you can throw her away that easily?" Stefan asked him, feeling his temper rise up in him, he wished he could punch Tyler, but he wouldn't, not now anyways. "She probably will, but the only ass around here you have to be worried about getting kicked is your own right now." Stefan told him, he didn't mean for it to sound like a threat, but he was close, dangerously close to punching Tyler.
"Because you hurt Caroline. I care about her, she is my friend and if Elena did this to me, she would be busting down Elena's door right now. That's why I won't forget about it." Stefan told Tyler. Stefan really almost lost it again when Tyler said that he didn't know what it was like to be scared of himself and what he could do. "You think I am not afraid? I have killed people. You have gotten off easily. I have dozens, hundreds of peoples dying faces on my mind. Don't pretend you the only one that ever feels scared and guilty!" Stefan told him.
Tyler was worried about mauling someone to death, Stefan has already done it dozens of times over. Tyler didn't have to worry about it, feel guilty about it just yet, Stefan did. "Your right, we are not friends and we probably never will be." Stefan told him, he really was quite frustrated with Tyler right now. The guy couldn't give him a straight answer on anything, it really was annoying. "Just tell me, did Klaus put you up to this? Did he make you do this to Caroline?" Stefan asked him, he didn't want his friend to try and be with Klaus if Klaus would sink this low.
"I need to know, this is important. If it was Klaus then I will leave you alone." Stefan told him, he wanted a straight answer this time and was liable to punch Tyler in the face if he didn't get one. It really was a frustrating situation. Tyler was acting like a dick and there was no reason for it, unless Klaus told him to. Even then, it wasn't right. Stefan cared to much about Caroline to drop it just like that. "If it is Klaus, then you have to tell me, please just trust me on this one." Stefan said, this did seem Klaus related it some way.

----------------------- ----------------------- Tyler blew out a breath as Stefan asked him what he meant when he said that Caroline wasn't safe around him, saying that he wouldn't ever hurt Caroline. It was a fair question. But the bigger and better question was: could he trust him? Come on, Ty. You have to trust someone with this, he thought to himself. And it looked like it was going to have to be Stefan. Well...at least to an extent. "I know I wouldn't hurt her, but I'm trying to do something and if certain people found out, it---she could get caught in the crossfire. I can't---I can't let that happen," he answered. Okay, that was pretty vague, but at least he wasn't risking Klaus finding out exactly what he was planning, even if there was a chance that Stefan could tell Klaus that he was up to something. It was a risk, but it looked like it was a risk that he was going to have to take. He then let out a small scoff as the other boy said that Caroline was one of his best friends which meant that her business was his business. "Whatever," he said. To be honest, he wasn't quite sure what to think about Stefan trying to play mediator between him and Caroline, but he wasn't going to press it. Hey, he was just trying to be a good friend. He could really fault him him for that. In fact, he kind of admired it. And his next words definitely pissed the vampire off, for he balled up a fist as he asked him if Caroline meant so little to him that he could just throw him away so easily. "Throwing her away? That's a bit harsh don't you think? I'm not throwing her away," he protested. But he supposed that from their perspective, it did seem like he was throwing her away. He hated making her think that, but really, if he wanted to keep her safe as he tried to stop Klaus, wouldn't it be better for her if she thought that he viewed her in that way? Man, this all seemed much clearer when I started this, he thought to himself. It had seemed simple, but now he wasn't so sure. Then the vampire agreed with him about his statement about Caroline kicking his ass, adding that for the moment, his was the only one he had to worry about. "Yeah, I suppose I deserve that," he admitted as he ran his fingers through his hair. Yup. He had definitely screwed up. After he told Stefan to forgot about it, the vampire responded by saying that he couldn't forget about it because he was Caroline's friend and that if Elena had done this to him, she'd be over at Elena's, ripping into her. "Yeah, she probably would, wouldn't she?" he chuckled. Yeah, he could imagine Caroline laying into Elena if she thought that she had hurt Elena or even taking on Stefan if she thought he had hurt the girl. He then went on, asking if he didn't think that he wasn't afraid of hurting people, saying that he had gotten off easy as the vampire saw the faces of people dying. "See that's different though. You know what you have or haven't done. If I turn, I lose time. I don't---I don't have memory of what I do and have to hear from someone else whether or not I had hurt someone. That's a different kind of fear," he admitted. And why had he just admitted that? Especially to Stefan Salvatore of all people. But it was true. It was part of the reason that he had been so grateful to Klaus when he had been turned into a Hybrid: he didn't have to worry or wonder about something he could have done under the full moon---whether or not he had broken the chains he had tied himself up with. And even though he was still relieved that he didn't have to turn, he didn't have the same gratefulness to the Original for that as he had had under the Sire-bond. Tyler listened as Stefan agreed that they weren't friends and probably never would be. "Good, we're agreed so now you can drop it," he stated. Then came the question of whether or not Klaus had put him put him up to what he was doing. He hesitated, mulling over his choices. He could lie and say Klaus had made him do it which would make the vampire drop it, he could tell a different lie and say that he had gotten tired of the relationship and dumped Caroline which would get his heart ripped out, or he could tell him some of the truth. Man, what do I do? he wondered. "No, he didn't put me up to this, but it was necessary. From what I heard, you spent an entire summer with him which means you know him better than the rest of us. Trust me. The less anyone knows about my business, the better," he finally answered. There. That should satisfy him. Well, he was hoping it would, anyways. Then Stefan was repeating his plea for him to say whether or not Klaus had put him up to hurting Caroline like he had and Tyler rolled his eyes. Hadn't they already covered this? "Again, no. But it's better for her if she stays away from me," he replied. Hopefully, the vampire would just finally drop the subject, though he doubted that he would. But hey, a guy could hope, right? -----------------------

"What could you be planning that is so bad?" Stefan asked him before putting two and two together. Who was the common link between the three of them? Caroline and her feelings for Klaus, Stefan willingly joining Klaus to save his brother, Tyler and his sirebond to Klaus. There were just to many things that lead right back to Klaus Mikaelson. Stefan kept quiet as he scanned Tyler, knowing that Tyler probably wanted to keep this quiet from everyone, even Caroline as he was planning something, something bad, something that could effect all of them.
"Tyler, wait a minute. Don't go after him alone. That would be suicide." Stefan told Tyler now concerned that he was planning something stupid. Going up against Klaus in a pack was suicide, going against him one on one meant that you were crazy. Tyler tried to backtrack and say he wasn't throwing Caroline away. "What do you call it then when you go and live with another girl and not even have the decency to tell her?" Stefan asked him curiously. He really wanted to know the hybrids answer to that question, for now his fist remained at his side.
"I just meant we both have fears. I think you are incredibly lucky to not have to wake up in the middle of the night after seeing someones face in your dream." Stefan said he didn't know how many times that happened to him. Waking up in the middle of the night after watching the sick and twisted face of a victim go lifeless again. He left the gory details out for Tyler. "But I see what you mean, I don't think either option is to appealing." Stefan agreed with him, just because Tyler didn't have to see the faces, didn't mean he was any better off. Maybe it was better to know what you did and did not do.
Stefan couldn't help but smile when Tyler agreed with him that they weren't friends and will never be. Tyler could be an interesting person when he wanted to, but it was the facts, Tyler and Stefan will never be friends, mostly because Stefan didn't trust easily and they have never and probably will never have that bonding moment that Lexi and Stefan had or that Caroline and Stefan had. Facts were sometimes disappointing, but they both seemed to accept it.
"Well your business can effect a lot more then just your life and Caroline's life." Stefan pointed out, if this all lead back to Klaus in someway, then Tyler's actions could have consequences for all of them, not just Tyler and Caroline, but Jeremy, Bonnie, Lexi, Damon, Stefan, Elena, everyone. "You know if you try something stupid, then maybe Klaus will go after me, or my friends, or my brother, or Elena. Its not just you and Caroline that have to worry about Klaus." Stefan told him, he decided not to tell him about Klaus and Caroline, as that was her secret to tell.

----------------------- ----------------------- Tyler rolled his eyes as Stefan asked what he was planning that could be so bad. "Again, that's none of your business Salvatore," he responded. Geez. Couldn't the guy take a hint? What part of "None of your business" and "Stay out of it" wasn't he getting? You'd think a guy who had been around for over a century and a half would be able to realize when to butt out of things. But then again, the guy seemed like he was pretty stubborn, so maybe that was why he wasn't getting it. Then something seemed to click with Stefan who told him not to go after Klaus alone because it'd be suicide. "Better than letting him waltz into Mystic Falls like he owns it," he retorted. Though, in hindsight, he probably did own it. But that was beside the point. Besides, he wasn't really looking to go up against him in the way Stefan was thinking. He just wanted to help other Hybrids break their bond to Klaus. After his objection that he hadn't thrown Caroline away, Stefan asked him what he'd call living with another girl and not having the decency to tell Caroline. "I'm not living with her in the way that you think. She's like me and she had no other place to go. It's just me giving her a place to stay and a place to lock herself up during the full moon," he told him. "I've been trying to help her with something, but we hit a bit of a---snag---I guess you could say," he added. And that was putting it mildly. According to her, every time she turned, she morphed into Cujo. Not exactly a good thing. He then fell silent as the vampire said that they both had fears and that he thought that he was lucky that he didn't have to wake up in the middle of the night after seeing someone's face in his dreams before agreeing that neither option was very appealing. "That's gotta be hard," he said, a hint of sympathy creeping into his voice. He couldn't even imagine what that must feel like. A part of him wondered if maybe it was better not knowing, but he dismissed the thought. Like he had said, both scenarios weren't all that great. When he said that they hadn't been friends and probably never would be, he saw the other boy smile as if agreeing. A few years ago something like that would've pissed him off, but now it didn't really phase him all that much. He hadn't been saying it to be mean---well, not totally---he was just telling it like it was. Maybe it sucked, but it was just the way it was. Though if he had to choose sides between the vampire in front of him and some other threat, he'd go with the former. Mystic Falls was his home and he'd do anything and work with anyone to protect it. He frowned a bit when the other boy reminded him that what he was doing could have an affect on more people than just him and Caroline and that if he tried to do something stupid, Klaus would most likely go after Stefan, Elena, Caroline, and the rest of their friends. "Which is exactly why I'm not letting anyone know what's going on! The less you all know, the safer you'll be. The safer she'll be," he insisted. If Klaus didn't know that he was trying to help other Hybrids break their Sire-bond to him, he wouldn't go near anyone in their group. And that was the most important thing: keeping everyone safe. -----------------------

"How is it not my business?" Stefan asked Tyler. "I have as much if not more to loose then you if Klaus decides to get revenge." Stefan told him, getting a little angry. If it had anything to do with Klaus, then it was kind of Stefan's business. Especially if Tyler does something and Klaus finds out, who is he gonna take it out on? People that Tyler care about, but also possibly people Stefan cares about. "Besides, if you have a plan against him then... I want in." Stefan told Tyler. Stefan figured that the enemy of his enemy was his friend.
"Why couldn't you tell Caroline that there is nothing going on between you and this werewolf?" Stefan asked Tyler finally. Seriously if Tyler was only helping out a friend, then why couldn't he at least give that much to Caroline? It wasn't like Caroline knowing that Tyler was helping out a friend was gonna get Caroline into trouble. A lot of people help out friends, Caroline would understand, in fact she would be fine with it and it won't lead her to completely hating Tyler anymore if she knew the truth. Tyler just seemed paranoid right now.
"It isn't." Stefan said to him honestly. Part of Stefan wondered which was better, knowing or not knowing. Either way it was bad, not being a monster at all was the best choice, but Tyler and Stefan couldn't choose that option. "I think that if I could go with not knowing, being blissfully unaware of what I have done, but still remember the good stuff, like past and current loves, and family and friends. I would choose that any day of the week." Stefan told Tyler honestly, wondering what Tyler would choose if the scenario was presented to him.
Stefan didn't completely agree with him on the less he and everyone knew, the better. It was the opposite of forgetting the bad you have done. Not knowing what was going on, that someone could set events into motion that has a negative effect on your life and there is nothing you can do about it. Stefan would rather learn of such things then be kept in the dark. But on the other hand. Tyler did have his right to his privacy and to do what he thought had to be done, so it made sense in a way, Stefan didn't like it, but he could respect it.
"Fine, Tyler. I am just saying, that if you find yourself in over your head, or you think what you are planning is gonna turn out bad, then you need to tell me and Caroline and all of us. We need to know what is coming and how to protect ourselves from it if at all possible. How would you feel if I did something that risked your life and didn't tell you and you ended up getting hurt or killed over it?" Stefan asked, which he had already kind of done that to Tyler in the first place, but that was beside the point.

----------------------- ----------------------- Tyler fell silent as Stefan asked him how what he was planning wasn't any of business when he had more to lose if Klaus decided to get revenge against him. He had a point. He had his brother, his girlfriend, and their friends to think about. Not that Tyler didn't worry about Matt, Caroline, Bonnie, or the others either, but they weren't all that close with him except for Matt and Caroline, which Tyler could readily admit was his fault. He had been a major dick which had kept people at arms' length. And here he was doing it again. But this time he had a good reason. Then, his eyebrow raised when the vampire stated that he wanted in if he had a plan against Klaus. "You'd really risk it?" he asked. Was this a trick or was he serious? At Stefan's question of why he couldn't tell Caroline that there wasn't anything going on between him and Lilly-Beth, Tyler blew out a breath as he ran his fingers through his hair. "Because it would've lead to questions that I have no right to answer," he answered. "A lot of what's going on has to do with the girl who's staying at the house and it's her story not mine," he explained. Lilly-Beth had trusted him with her struggle with her wolf side, and he wasn't going to betray her trust. Hopefully, Stefan could understand that. Tyler then raised an eyebrow as Stefan said that it wasn't hard and that if he could choose, he'd rather not remember the bad stuff but be able to remember the good stuff such as family, friends, etc. "Hmm...I don't know. I mean, waking up and not knowing what happened is pretty frightening," he mused. He could still remember the fright he had felt after his first transformation. He had been certain that he had gotten out and had killed someone. But then Caroline had assured him that he hadn't gotten out---that he had made it through the night---and the fright had turned into relief. Then again, if he ever slipped up and turned and killed someone, he wasn't sure if he'd want to have that person's face imprinted in his brain. He was pretty sure that he'd have nightmares for the rest of his life if that ever happened and he didn't relish something like that. So he supposed that in this way, he and Stefan were two sides of the same coin. Well, not totally, but... From the look on Stefan's face, it was apparent that he didn't agree with his statement that it was better for everyone else if he didn't let them know what was going on, but he was finally dropping the subject. Thank you, he thought to himself. He wasn't sure if he could've kept calm for much longer and he had the feeling that attacking him wouldn't be in his best interest. He then let out a sigh as the other boy said that if he found himself over his head or if what he was planning started to turn bad, then he needed to tell someone as they all needed to know what to expect so that they could protect themselves, asking him how he'd feel if he did something that could risk his life and didn't tell him? He had a point. If he was going to be helping other Hybrids break their bond, Caroline and the others deserved to know what was happening in case Klaus found out. But on the other hand, the risk of Klaus finding out was exactly why he hadn't told anybody. Man, what was he supposed to do? He had been sure that keeping everyone in the dark about what he was trying to do with the Hybrids was the safest thing for them, but from what the other boy was saying that it'd actually be riskier. Should I trust him? he wondered. He hadn't given him any reason not to, but still, there was a chance that this could all be a trick or a test. Still, it wasn't like he had really gotten anywhere with Lilly-Beth. Maybe he just needed a fresh pair of eyes looking at the situation. "I broke the bond," he said. "I broke the bond and I'm trying to help another Hybrid---the one who's staying at my place. It's---we've definitely hit a snag," he said. "But I can't tell you what that is without breaking her confidence," he told him. OOC Sorry for the length, Phillip! -----------------------

"Well I figured if your gonna do something then I might as well to help out." Stefan told Tyler honestly. It was a risk, but it was just as much of a risk as letting Tyler do it alone. "Don't say anything, but I will have to talk it over with Elena first. I promised her I would share all plans that may involve life and death with her." Stefan said, remembering that promise he made her their first night back together. Stefan wasn't gonna break it that easily, but yes, if Elena thought it was worth the risk, then he would help Tyler if he could that is.
"So this girl that is not your girlfriend, is more important to you then Caroline is?" Stefan asked him. That was what Tyler was basically saying to Stefan about why he wouldn't tell Caroline what was really going on with the other girl. That it was more important to keep her story a secret then to make sure Caroline didn't feel betrayed over it. Stefan felt really pissed at this realization, that he would choose this girl that he isn't even dating, over Caroline. Maybe Stefan was just blowing it out of proportion, and Tyler Didn't owe Caroline anything, but still.
Stefan wondered what it would be like to loose a chunk of time, or to loose every memory he had. He would hate to loose the good ones, but he did wish he could start over and loose the bad ones. Was there no way to forget the bad but remember the good? Then again, it was his curse, his punishment for what he has done to be able to remember every little detail, every name and face he had ever tortured and killed and ripped to shreds. In a way, the bad memories were suppose to stay with him forever, as forgetting them would be a farce.
"You what?" Stefan asked when he said he broke the bond. Stefan didn't even know that was possible. Then again, there was very little information on sire bonds to begin with seeing as they were suppose to be really rare. But Tyler found a way to break it none the less. "I didn't know it was possible." He said truthfully. Stefan really didn't know what to think about Tyler's revelation. "So does that mean you are on our side again?" Stefan asked, he had his doubts that Tyler wasn't just playing him and was testing him or something for Klaus, but if the sire bond was broken, then he couldn't be working for Klaus right now.
He then went on about the girl and him hitting a snag when he was trying to help her break the sire bond. "So that is why she is staying with you, cause she needs your help?" Stefan asked him, it was nice to finally know that Tyler wasn't really being a dick to Caroline, though he was being an idiot to her in a way. He nodded though. He knew that Tyler couldn't tell him any more as it wouldn't be fair to the girl hybrid that Tyler was helping. Tyler would really be a dick if broke the girls confidence with him to tell Stefan.
"Well, I won't tell Klaus or Caroline, I promise. Just, be careful ok. And do something that lets Caroline know that you still care about her." Stefan told him, deciding that the conversation was really over and there was no further need to discuss it. "Tyler, I turned my humanity back on. Lexi and Elena found a way to..." Stefan said to him, hoping that he could trust the boy, he didn't want to say anymore as telling Tyler how they broke it would bring back to many painful memories. "Well, see ya later Lockwood." Stefan said with a smile.

----------------------- ----------------------- Tyler nodded as Stefan said that if he was going to do something, he might as well help out. It made sense for Stefan to want to get even with Klaus as the guy had not only killed his girlfriend---and Tyler wasn't quite sure how Elena come back as the word "Sacrifice" usually alluded to death, though he was glad she had---but he had also ripped Stefan away from her. If Klaus had done that to him and Caroline, he'd be looking to destroy him too. In fact, he was trying to come up with a way to stop him. And if they found a way to kill him without killing everyone else, that'd be the icing on the cake. "Sure. To be honest, I could use it," he confessed. And that was certainly the truth. He had racked his brain for some ideas, but had come up empty. Maybe he could get Lilly-Beth's permission to tell Stefan about her situation because to be perfectly honest, he was drawing a blank in what they could do to help her out since breaking the bond wasn't an option for her. He then listened as the other boy stated that he'd have to talk it over with Elena first as he had promised to share all plans that were life and death with her. "Yeah, that's fine," he agreed. He couldn't really blame the girl for wanting to have as much information about any deals that could involve her or her friends. After all, this involved an extremely powerful and---in Tyler's opinion---a slightly insane Hybrid who thought he was Napoleon or something. Well, maybe not Napoleon as the guy was like, way short, but yeah, Klaus definitely had delusions of grandeur. He then had the grace to look embarrassed as the other boy asked him if some girl he wasn't dating was more important than his girlfriend. "Okay, when you say it like that, it sounds bad," he murmured. He hadn't really thought about how this would all affect Caroline. He had just been trying to make sure that she stayed alive as he helped Lilly-Beth with her Sire-bond problem. Or rather---the problem she had trying to break it. And it was a problem. One that he had promised to help her with. It was just too bad that he hadn't come up with anything to help her with it yet. And that's what was bothering him at the moment: that he couldn't think of a way to help her break the bond without her wolf side taking complete control and going nutso. After their conversation about remembering things versus not remembering things, Stefan fell silent and Tyler found himself wondering what he was thinking even as the Hybrid pondered the vampire's words. Could he really last an eternity with the faces of people he had hurt etched into his memory without going insane? No, he didn't think he could. How did Stefan do it? And he was getting off-track. Time to refocus on the situation on-hand here. Which was making sure that the vampire didn't kill him out of loyalty to Caroline. And from Stefan's reaction, it was apparent that Tyler's confession was the last thing he had expected to hear, not that he could blame him as from what he had learned in his own research was that a bond like the one that he had had to Klaus was pretty rare, and that there didn't seem to be a way to break it, which Stefan commented on, saying that he hadn't thought it was possible. "Yeah, I wasn't sure if it was gonna work either, but thankfully, it did. All I had to do was force myself to turn about a hundred times until doing it no longer hurt. And just for the record, that's not fun," he stated. Nope. Not fun at all. It had hurt like a bitch for a long time. But strangely enough, after a while, he had noticed that the feeling of gratefulness to Klaus he had felt was fading. He didn't understand why it was happening, but he had taken it as a good sign and had continued what he was doing until the feeling had faded away completely. At the question of whether or not that meant that he was on their side, Tyler nodded. "Yeah, I'm on your side, but I need Klaus to believe that I'm still Sired. He wouldn't buy it if Caroline knew the truth. I love her, but I don't think she'd be able to pretend for that long. She'd be too happy. And he would notice, figure it out, and kill her and anyone else I cared about in retaliation," he continued. And he wasn't going to let that happen which meant that his charade was necessary. When Stefan asked if Lilly-Beth was staying with him because she needed his help, Tyler nodded. "Yeah. That's all it is," he confirmed. He knew that letting Caroline believe that he played her was a dick move, but it worked in his favor. Well...sort of. In the sense of him keeping his plan to help the Lilly-Beth and the other Hybrids break their bond to Klaus, it was working out in his favor. However, when it came to his friendship and relationship with Caroline, it put him in the doghouse. Or would that be the wolf den? Okay, that made no sense. When Stefan promised not to tell Caroline or Klaus that he had broken the bond, Tyler gave him a quick smile. "Thank you," he said. Everything hinged on Klaus believing that he was still Sired to him so the fact that Stefan was willing to lie for him even though they weren't friends was appreciated. He then nodded as the other boy advised him to do something to let Caroline know that he still cared about her. Which he did. It just wasn't really all that safe for them to be together at the moment. It sucked, but there it was. When Stefan said that he had his humanity back on, Tyler gave him an almost imperceptible nod. "My lips are sealed," he promised. "Later, Salvatore," he responded and then shifted his backpack, making it more comfortable on his shoulder and then walked off. OOC I know they mentioned on the show that Tyler could break the bond to Klaus this way, but they never really fully explained the correlation---though I suppose that they didn't really have to---so I just made it where he felt the difference but didn't really understand it. And I'll let one of the Admins know that the thread's finished. -----------------------
