----------------------- ----------------------- "Well I'll agree with you on that, if people hear a noise they should at least know how to fight before they investigate," he said honestly. People needed to be more careful around things, there were demons and vampires out there that they didn't know about, they were quite oblivious to it so they should really prepare themselves if they are going to do something like investigate a noise in the dark. "But everything else, I just think you're old and complain to much," he said with a chuckle. Technology was great Connor wasn't a fan of it before since he got back from a demon dimension but a cell phone was useful, he liked to read more though, he loved books which was something he got from his dad he was pretty sure considering his dad read a lot of stuff and so did Connor but not as boring as his father's books.
Connor looked at his dad and gave him a weird look then laughed a bit, "I had to get it from somewhere and it wasn't my crazy evil vampire mom," he said then looked down at the ground remembering her that night he killed an innocent girl. She had told him to stop but he didn't choose to listen and all hell broke loose. He didn't know the woman personally but he did want to get to know her even if she was evil. It was his biological mother so he was nothing but curious. He felt the hit and just rubbed his arm and grinned at the man. "Your situation couldn't have been that difficult considering you have no scratches on you or anything," he said wondering what situation Angel could have been in.
Connor listened to Angel and got a bit confused but then understood what he was asking although it seemed so jumbled. "Hypothetically," he said using his fingers to quote it. "You should have phoned whether there was danger or not or this girl who I'm guessing is Buffy would be worried about you and not know if you're alive or dead," he told the man. Angel would have a lot of explaining to do considering he hadn't talked to his own girlfriend in such a long time. Angel should really fix their communication, Buffy did deserve to know where he was and when he was coming back, it was kind of unfair to her to not contact her for such a long period of time and hopefully Angel would realize that it wasn't right but the vampire didn't even get technology so it was no surprise that he rarely used it.
"You haven't told her about me?" He said with a tilt of his head. He didn't want to question Angel and he wasn't going to since it wasn't his place but Connor couldn't help but feel that Angel was ashamed of him. Maybe it was all of the things he had done in the past that made Angel ashamed so he didn't want to tell Buffy about his biological son. Connor decided to try and shrug it off and change topics as he didn't want to get into it. "I guess I'll stay here, if it's alright with Buffy," he said scanning the kitchen with his eyes/ He would like to live here and just get to know everyone, it'd be nice. He just hoped he would be allowed to as he didn't want to be sleeping in a motel for the remainder of university, unless there were dorms then he could go to one of those.

But everything else, I just think you're old and complain to much, Conner said, "Well thank you very much.. I may be old but I am also wise.. it has some perks." He stated with a nod in attempts to defend himself as he took a sip of his beer calmly. In Connor's reply about his 'crazy evil vampire mum' Angel gave a somewhat tight lipped smile. Darla had indeed been crazy...he would admit that.. evil? she was to an extent.. but all vampires were essentially like when they didn't possess a soul. Still.. he had.. and he would admit.. that he had once loved Darla a long time ago.. perhaps even still loved her to some degree.. she had essentially been his 'first' vampire love.. and that wasn't something that was easily dismissed. "She was crazy, I agree to that.." he mused with a small nod, before he pushed all further thoughts of her out of his mind. He didn't want to remember her.. that was in the past now, Darla was a part of Angelus, a fragment in a large puzzle. Nothing more.
"Oh come now, you know better than anyone else how quickly we heal. I did only return yesterday bare in mind." he added, with a firm nod. Hell he had suffered a few beatings and bruising's during his little 'trip' but like everything else they had healed in their own time. When they returned to his hypothetical situation, Angle lowered his drink. " I like how you presume this is Buffy, and that I actually didn't do such a thing-which I didn't, I'll admit that, but still." He said, as he tried fruitfully to defend his dignity. "It is by far easier said then done.. the last thing I wanted, was for them to latch onto the idea that I was liaising with someone.. to which they would of no doubt gone to find.. and I would of placed everyone here.. including Kathy in danger." he admitted. Well, there was no point in hiding the truth now, despite how he had tried.
You haven't told her about me? Connor questioned moments later, as they continued on with their previous topic. "No.. truthfully, I didn't think you want anything to do with me, after everything I have done to you, or put you through.. so I didn't tell Buffy about you." he admitted as he cast his gaze downwards.. he was never too good at the whole 'bonding' aspect of any relationship, he supposed he had never really had to bond. Delighted at the change of subject, Angel smiled. "I'm sure she'd be fine with it, she's always willing to help those who need it, and this place is certainly big enough... it only seems like the right thing to do.. looking out for my son's best interest and all that." he teased somewhat as he reached a hand forward and annoyed him by ruffling his hair.

----------------------- ----------------------- "If you say so," he said shaking his head but was only joking. Connor had never thought he'd be this happy about being reunited with Angel. He knew he'd be sort of happy but truly happy? It was weird and he was just glad that everything worked out and he didn't hate him for the things he had done in the past. But if anyone were to understand it was him since he had a colourful past as well so it was to be expected. They both had agreed on Darla being crazy...but Connor couldn't truly judge because he didn't know her, she died for him and she was a bad person so that confused him, she cared for him yet she didn't care for anyone else, he kind of wanted to know more about the situation.
"How could I forget, a vampire who can heal in a matter of minutes, maybe an hour or so," he said remembering. He didn't know how he forgot about that, vampires healed really quickly which was why Connor healed quickly because he had Angel's blood in him. Connor laughed, "Unless you're seeing someone else then I'll take my chances and assume it's Buffy," finishing off his laugh with a grin. "Who's Kathy?" He asked curiously, not knowing who she was, all he knew right now she was a girl, maybe it was someone close to Angel, like a best friend or something. He wanted to find out for some reason, it was like his body was telling him he needed to know.
"You didn't put me through anything...it was me who caused you trouble," he said truthfully. He didn't want Angel feeling guilty when none of it was his fault. It wasn't his fault that Connor got kidnapped and it wasn't his fault Connor was unstable, it was Holtz. "You really need to stop doing that," he said fixing his hair but grinned a little bit, so this was what normal was? Finally being able to live with his father, they missed a lot of years together but they had their future years. "Okay, I'll move my things in tomorrow...I guess," still feeling a bit awkward. "Thanks...Dad," he said looking at Angel as he had hope in his eyes. He was just glad to get another chance with his father as he did want to get to know him more and create a bond between him if that was possible.
He really hoped that Buffy would be fine with him, he didn't want the girl to hate him just because his mother was a bad person, and sure, Connor was a bit crazy at one point but he was a good person and he just hoped she realized that, he didn't want bad blood between the two. He knew meeting her would be awkward which was why he didn't want to meet her alone, someone had to be there, maybe his father but then again he'd get awkward too so maybe not him.

Smiling softly he finished of his drink and made no move to take another. He wasn't much of a drinker these days (no pun intended) So one was about his limit, in all fairness; he didn't even need to drink alcohol. It was just a human habit and luxury, one he liked to indulge himself in every now and then. When Connor mentioned about Buffy once more, Angel nodded "Fair enough, so yes, it is Buffy." he clarified, not that he needed to clarify an awful lot, apparently the fact that a vampire, and a slayer fell in love was something of big news. Which made sense naturally..fraternizing with the enemy.. as if he didn't think things could get any more surreal. Then Kathy came to mind.. it was during this particular point Angel realized just how excluded Conner had been from his life.. yet another reminder at what a poor father he had been.
"Ah.. yes.. Kathy." how was he to word it in such a way? "Kathy is someone you shall have to meet, another vampire and your aunt." he stated, despite the fact that he neglected to mention Kathy was somewhat younger than Connor it was all rather messed up in truth. Still... he would explain things as they come, the last thing he wanted to do was scare Connor off. Angle hoped however, that the prospect of Connor knowing he had more family out there.. true blood relatives would make things easier on him. Still, no matter what they spoke about there was really only one dark and heavy cloud that had settled above them. They both had their differences.. things to work out and through. Yet, Angel was grateful however that he was given that second chance to make things right.
Yet, as Connor forgave him to an extent he smiled briefly. "You have nothing to apologize for Connor.. I should of been there for you..what you have done.. and did. I would of done the same had I of been in your place. What matters now is the fact that it is in the past..that hopefully we can.. move on from it." He added, he didn't really know what to say.. but it seemed right at that moment. Angle was never the one to spill his emotions. Nodding once more, Angel straightened himself from the kitchen top. "Alright then, i'll help.. I mean if you want help.. that is.." he added almost clumsily. "I'll talk to Buffy later when she comes back.. I think it'll be good for her to meet you, and you to meet her."

----------------------- ----------------------- "I knew it," he said with a grin. Connor wasn't dumb, he was actually pretty smart, book smart and street smart. He did hope that his father and Buffy worked things out if there was bad communication or something. He briefly wondered if him being here was a good thing or a bad, what if that left Angel and Buffy into an even more rough patch? He hoped that didn't happen, unless Buffy would be fine with it all, he didn't truly know the woman so he couldn't really make assumptions. He would just have to wait and see what happened...but he shouldn't have came so unexpected, maybe he should have called.
"I...have an aunt," he said with a hidden smile. He had more relatives out there, that was actually really cool. He wondered what she was like, maybe she was wise and mature. Maybe, she was an out there type and just a fun person to be around. Still though, it was only one relative and no one else who was at least human, he was the only one well half-human. He did have his adoptive family...it wasn't the same but they did fix that void in him, well the best that they could. He still had that void and he didn't know why, maybe being here would fix it completely. Maybe all he needed to do was fix things with his father and actually bond with him.
"But...you were there for me...dad," he said using the actual word 'dad' once again. "I was just too crazy to be helped," he said with a frown. He hated the way he was back then, he couldn't believe the things he had done just because he had trust issues and felt alone in the world. He was going to kill himself and he wasn't afraid of death...he was afraid of himself. He was afraid that he'd go back to being unstable and just breaking, he wasn't sure if it would ever happen but apart of him did feel like it would, it would just take something to break him. "But yeah, I hope we do," he told the man. He did want to move on the past and forget about it.
"You really don't have to do that," he told him. "But...if you insist," he said with a smile. He knew he had to try with his father and make things right, if he was already going to say no to something when it could be a chance for them to actually talk some more then he'd be missing that opportunity. "You really think so?" He said with a smalls smile. He did want to meet the girl. "I think I've stayed my welcome tonight, I should probably get back to the motel," he said not wanting to leave but knew he had to.

Okay, so Angel wasn't at all good at lying, it was certainly a rather large fault of his. Yet it didn't matter, lying never really accomplished much, in fact he had never really had to lie to anyone. Even when he tried he would often get found out. When Connor commented about having an Aunt, Angel could see his face light up somewhat.. "Yes, you do. You shall have to meet her too some time." he smiled softly.. he didn't know how Kathy would react to the news about having a Nephew, but Angel hoped she would react well. It would perhaps do them both some good, to meet and to talk to one another. "She's somewhat eccentric.." Angel mused as he thought about Kathy.. she was essentially a young child at heart, well in his eyes Kathy was a young child, he just hoped things would work out.
But...you were there for me...dad, Connor commented, the word dad.. Angel would never admit, caused him to swell up somewhat. It was an odd feeling, one he couldn't describe but it felt.. good and it felt right. Still, Angel had been there.. but not nearly as much as a father should be now that things seemed to be heading in the right direction between the two of them, maybe it wasn't to late to fix and repair their bond? "No.. I want to." Angel added in his defense, he owed Connor, and Angel would take any opportunity that he could if it meant fixing things for good. "Oh, yes of course.. if you have to go that's understandable." Angel said in reply to Connor's mention of leaving.
"Well.. maybe I can.. walk you home? Unless you'd rather go alone.. or I can get you a taxi? you know.. it's getting late, you don't know who's about and all that.." He offered.. which was perhaps the most awkward thing he was ever going to say.. If only he had, had more time with Connor, then maybe he would of made for a better dad? and at least knew how to do things right? "ah.. well. It's up to you of course. I understand." He added, awkwardly. Connor probably wouldn't want to be walked anywhere he had grown up a lot since they had last met, so who was Angel kidding..

----------------------- ----------------------- "Well, I can't wait," he told his father. He was really excited to meet his aunt, he had more family, someone he was related to, it made him happy. He was just glad to be back, he had made a good choice. He was actually surprised at himself, he didn't think he would have the guts to talk to his father or see him again for that matter. Connor had honestly thought that he would just forget about Angel or try to and then be on his way, enjoy his life living in the normal world and marrying, all that normal stuff, but for some reason he couldn't forget about the supernatural and he didn't know why he couldn't forget. He just shook the thought out of his head and replaced it with the thought of his aunt.
"Angel," he said with a roll of his eyes as he groaned. He didn't get why Angel was being so paranoid and protective, he knew Connor has the strength to protect himself, wait a minute...he was being a concerned parent...that was actually nice to know that Angel was concerned for him. "I can take care of m-I mean yeah it'd be nice if you came along, and helped me move my stuff over here," he said with a smile. He didn't want to ruin their bonding experience right now, and he wanted to bond with the man more. He just had to relax and be fine with it all.
"Thank you for helping me," he told his father. He really needed to figure out if he was going to keep calling Angel dad or just his regular name, he always switched it up. He decided he would continue calling him 'dad' or 'father' because he was at that stage now, he was comfortable enough to say it and it seemed as if Angel liked him saying it so why not? Connor was grateful for his father helping him and walking him to the motel, he wondered if they would come across any demons or other vampires to kill. This town didn't seem as bad as L.A. though, it seemed more peaceful actually which was really weird, he wondered why that was. There had to be something coming, nothing was this quiet...it was too suspicious. He wanted to get to the bottom of it, he didn't want any surprises like the last time and he wanted everyone to stay alive, that was his goal.
