- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -Even though Roswell was difficult to live in, it was still home and it would always be home. He missed living there and he missed his parents. He would have told them about him not being human if he knew they were going to be so accepting...then again he probably wouldn't as he didn't want to put them in danger. He realized that people knowing his secret and Mike and Isabel's was a major risk to not only them but the others, it was dangerous and they discovered this with Maria and Liz at first and then more people were in danger. Max did wish that Liz and Kyle could go back home and finish their family but he had given them alien powers by saving them and if he hadn't they could have survived in Roswell but still it was a risk the two couldn't take, even Maria. She didn't have any powers but she knew about the aliens.
Max knew that the FBI was probably looking for them but not as hard as they were before, they were slowly giving up and that was a good thing because it meant the group could find each other and finally live in peace. It didn't mean that they could go back to Roswell and enjoy a happy life because that wasn't happening and the government would always be there awaiting for their arrival but there home wasn't safe so in reality there was no going back which saddened the man but that was life and he would have to deal with it for the rest of his life. He had wished that he could see the people but it was far too dangerous for him to.
"I'm glad too," he said to her with a soft smile. He would never regret that moment, it was his proudest moment. He didn't even have to think twice about saving her, he just knew he had to. The girl he knew since he was a child was dying and he wasn't going to sit there and watch her die, that wasn't him and he was in love with her. Max had always known he loved Liz, he was so drawn to the woman before and he didn't understand why and still didn't, all he knew was that she was amazing, sweet, and the girl for him and that was all he needed to know. "Maybe you're right, I just can't help thinking that it is though," he told the girl. Tess did think the two were soul-mates after all.
"Yeah, create our own destiny," he said to her. She was right it was their destiny and they weren't going to run anymore, it was time to reunite. "You're right but if it is her then I've been telling her where I've been staying...," he told Maria wondering what she would think. He had been careless but he had really thought it was a dream or maybe some part of him wanted to think of it as a dream as it was the only connection he had with Isabel and in a way he did want her to find him, he missed his sister. "Maria...where do we start?" He said looking up at the girl with a frown on his face but it was hardly noticeable. He wanted to find everyone but how could they possibly find the whole gang? That seemed pretty hard.

Maria had learn a long time ago that she could never really go home. Even if she was not in dangers like the other and she could in a way go home, it would never be home without the rest of her friends so really for her this was it. She needed to be away from Roswell because it would only remind her of what she could not have and she didn’t want that. She knew she would never fully be home without them so in the end it was sad but it was easier that way for her easier to be away from them and away from home. Roswell would be a constent reminder of what she had lost.
‘’good because you can never forget what you did that day.’’ Maria told him. ‘’you did something good Max, always remember that, I don’t even know what would have happen had you reacted differently and really I don’t even think I want to know what could have happen.’’ Thinking about it freaked her out and it was enough to want to send her into a panic attack but she was not going to let that happen. ‘’girlfriend you are going to have to spend more time with me than and we can try and change your way of seeing all of this crap because you are a wonderful person…’’
‘’exactly, we can’t let anyone tell us what we should be doing and who we should be with because in the end we are the ones who are going to end up losing.’’ She told him with a weak smile. They had already lost so much there was no need to add to it. She didn’t think she could even handle it if they lost someone else again.’’ It had been enough to lose Alex she would most likely lost it if she had to deal with someone else. ‘’I don’t know where to start Max. I mean should we start by trying to find the others or should we start by making sure that we are actually safe enough to get everyone together….’’ She wanted all of them to finally be together again but at the same time she didn’t want to get them all into one place only to get them killed.

- - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - -Max felt like this was a lot to take in, seeing his best friend from what seemed like fifty years, which it was only five but he still felt like it was longer than that. He had been so alone for those years and to have someone who knew him and talk to him...it was weird, he was adapting to being alone. He didn't like to be alone but apparently he was best known for it. He looked at the blonde girl with his sad eyes, it seemed as if he'd never be happy, maybe one day but that one day was far away, he wouldn't be happy until he knew that Liz was safe in his arms but until then he would continue to talk to Maria when she was off course, he'd make sure the roles were the same as they lift it.
"Me neither...," he couldn't imagine a life without Liz, the man wouldn't have been the same person he was today. Sure, he was very upset but that wasn't because of Liz, losing someone he loved, he wouldn't be able to deal with that. He would never regret that day, he'd always remember that day to be the day he started living life. Liz had slowly changed him to be a guy who can trust and who didn't have to worry constantly about his secret being found, she was truly amazing for helping him out. The man chuckled quietly when she called him 'girlfriend' but his face went back to being serious soon after. "Thank you...Sometimes I don't feel like I am," he told the woman honestly.
Max didn't feel comfortable talking about all of this stuff in public, he just didn't feel safe. Maybe the government wasn't watching but he didn't want to take that risk, especially since there are so much people around. "I'm sorry Maria...But I need to, it's too dangerous to just talk in public," he said in an almost whisper as he didn't want to be found. Meet me at Richmond Motel when you have the chance this week," he told the woman. "Thank you, for being here for today," he told the girl as he got up and started walking off but glanced a bit to see if anyone was going to follow him but surprisingly, things went extremely well which never happens.

Maria knew she needed some time to think, she needed to figure out what her next step was going to be, because clearly she had too much to deal with right now. It was all good things but still it was a lot. Anyone would need some time to cope with all that was happening. Max was here, he was really back and it was wonderful. Things were finally settling into place. Their lives were going to be theirs again and they would not have to worry about a thing anymore, at least this was what she wanted to believe, what she needed to believe otherwise she felt like she was going to go insane right now. She felt like she was just on the verge of throwing a Maria breakdown and those could never be good. Especially since she was still at work.
When Max said that he could not imagine a life without Liz, Maria could not help but smile. These two were really soulmates and would never be able to be happy until they could finally be together again. If they only knew how close they were to be able to be together again. Maria felt her inner self giggle at the though just because she wanted to see both of her best friends happy and together. She had been rooting for them for so long. But soon their time would come again and they would be happy and they would be the sickening couple they had always had been and always would be. “well you are and now that I’m here I will forever remind you of this.” Maria warned him.
With a nod of her head, Maria let Max know she understood. It was not like they could really talk right now at least not more than they already had, they could not really get deep into their conversation and she would have to get back to work soon enough, but just knowing that he was here and that things would soon become easier for everyone, this was something she could deal with. Something she wanted to deal with really. Finally something good was happening to them and they could be happy. “you know where to find me now.” She told him before also getting up and walking back to the kitchen
