Rebekah's life wasn't that bad anymore. At least for the mean time. She and Noah made up, more then once if she remembered that blissful night correctly, though some of it was admittedly a blur. Rebekah was taking care of Zan, the kid she fell madly in love with and though she knew he would never be his real mom, she just wanted to be there for him and be the best person she could for him. So all and all, her life was going better then she expected it would be right now. The only thing she was missing were her brothers, who were all daggered or ignoring her.
It was ok, it didn't matter, let them ignore her. Rebekah planned on moving out of Nik's damn home and into her own home and give a more suitable living arrangement for Zan. Zan deserved to have a good life, even if he plans on leaving her, which Rebekah hoped he didn't, she loved being around him. But that was a ways off, she had to get the rest of her life in order before she can consider moving out of Nik's place. Rebekah dropped Zan off at his new school, she was glad she didn't have to drive him all the way to Richmond and back everyday, but she would gladly do it if he wanted to go to his old school again.
Now she was parking her car in the Mystic Falls High School parking lot. Did she really have to go to school? No not really, but she had to fill the time when Zan and Noah were both at their own classes doing something, so going to school herself seemed like a good plan. Plus, thanks to Caroline, she was on the cheer team now, so she had to keep her grades up. "A thousand years old and I'm worried about grades." Rebekah scoffed to herself. She looked around and watched as the other student's filed into the school, then she spotted him.
Stefan Salvatore, the youngest Salvatore brother. She scoffed at the sight of him wearing his leather jacket, blue jeans and shades over his eyes and his hair the normal spiky she was use to. She swore he spent more time daily on his hair then she did in a month. Whatever, it didn't matter, but there was something on her mind, something that happened long ago that has never been resolved, and she wanted to get it out in the open. She approached him and stepped in front of him. "Stefan Salvatore." She said to him eyeing him up and down.
"Bon Jovi wants his look back." Rebekah said to him with a smirk.

Things were going well for Stefan. He was able to make up with Elena, Bonnie, Caroline, Lexi, and had plans on talking with Jeremy soon as well. Though some people he doubted would ever fully trust him again, they were at least talking to him. There was still this pesky compulsion placed on him, and he knew that if Klaus ever found out what was going on, it would be bad news for everyone involved. So in front of certain people Stefan acted like he still had his emotions off, anyone who might run off and tell Klaus he pretended in front of.
But the people they knew they could trust knew. Stefan decided that he would start going to school again, and anyone on Klaus'es side he would just tell them that it is so he can watch Elena better, to make sure no harm came to her, cause that was why the compulsion was, to watch over her for Klaus. It was really hard for Stefan being at Mystic Falls High School. He had to pretend to not care about anyone. He couldn't talk to anyone, especially Elena, cause if someone saw him, they may warn Klaus that something might be up.
So he ended up sitting alone at lunch and just sitting there in class staring at Elena. It was better then being at home alone all day, at least this way he could see everyone, even though he had to pretend to not give a damn about them. The worst was seeing Jeremy everyday. Stefan was taken out of his thoughts when he heard a familiar voice that he forgot at one point who the voice belonged to. Rebekah. She appeared in front of him and Stefan just rolled his eyes at her, he had to pretend in front of her, and he hated pretending.
"What do you want, Rebekah?" Stefan asked her when she put down his... fashion choice. Stefan just wore what was comfortable and these clothes were always comfortable for him. Sometimes he was in fashion and sometimes he wasn't. This was quite annoying and though he was a bit afraid of Rebekah, she could end him at any moment, something told him that she wouldn't, most of all at school, the school she was pretending to go to as well? She couldn't do it here even if she wanted to. That doesn't mean she could verbally assault him.

Stefan asked her what she wanted and she just rolled her eyes at him. Stefan was lucky she was trying not to screw up to much and be a better person, and that they were in public, otherwise she would rip his heart out of his chest and not feel sorry about it one bit. "I want to talk to you, pretend you care for one minute and humor me, jerk." Rebekah told him with a frown. She was actually really hurt, that he would just forget about her, and then when he did remember her he pushed her away like she was nothing, and it didn't feel fair to her.
Sure Rebekah was with Noah and she was happy with him, it just upset her to think about what happened between her and Stefan in the 1920s as well as what happened between them when she woke up and he didn't even know who she was anymore and he didn't care anymore. Perhaps it would be better to talk to him if he wasn't compelled. If he had his emotions on and was a nice guy again. She didn't know if she could break Nik's compulsion even if she wanted to, but it would piss off Nik royally and last thing she needed is a vengeful brother.
"Shouldn't you be off sinking your teeth into some innocent victims neck and draining them dry?" Rebekah asked him. She wondered why he was even back in classes. Not that she cared, but he was suppose to be cold and ruthless and showing up at school and not killing all the students and teachers was not very ripperish of him. She just shrugged, it didn't matter, not really, it wasn't what she wanted to talk about. "You hurt me, you know. I just wanted to tell you that." Rebekah told him finally, though she knew he wouldn't care even at hearing this.
"You could of at least told me why you no longer give a damn about me." She told him, god, this was a great idea. It was only upsetting her to talk about this with him. "Whatever, its over, I am with someone else now and they really do love me, so its your loss." She told him beginning to walk away. At least it was some kind of closure for her, maybe not the best for her emotionally state, but at least she told him off finally, so she felt a little better about everything.

You must be really acting like a jerk when Rebekah Mikaelson calls you one. So it a way, this was good news for Stefan cause it meant that she bought that he was still a Ripper. Stefan just smirked at her. "Sorry Darling, a, I upsetting you?" Stefan asked her, trying to sound as sarcastic as he could, which he dared say that he thought he did a pretty good job at it. He rolled her eyes at her again playing the emotionless card. "Fine, I will try to pretend to care." He said, truth was he did sort of care that he hurt her, as it wasn't her fault.
What happened all those years ago was ancient history and Stefan was suppose to be emotionless back then, but that didn't mean he didn't feel something for Rebekah and Klaus back then, but it was cut short and ended all together. He was different now and had a new life, new friends, a new girlfriend that he loved more then anything. It was like Rebekah didn't know him anymore. Maybe she was the same, maybe her feelings were the same, but you can't blame him for his feelings changing on her, as he had to not even know who she was for 90 years.
"Sounds like fun." Stefan replied when she mentioned hurting yet another innocent person. It was the last thing Stefan wanted to do, but he had to pretend that he didn't care if he did it or not and he hated it. Stefan was keeping a pretty good poker face on up till she told him that he hurt her. Stefan didn't choose to forget about her, he was told to. Even so, when he did remember he did kind of not care anymore. What was he suppose to do go back to her? Pretend Elena didn't exist. He couldn't, he wouldn't do that, he chose Elena in that moment and every moment since.
But still, her words stung and he felt the fake smirk fade from his lips. He could tell that she just needed to vent, and this was probably his first mistake. Not saying something back sarcastically right now would show her that something was up and Rebekah was smart enough to put the pieces together and figure it out, but he kept quiet and let her get it off her chest. "You know why I didn't get back with you." Stefan told her, referencing Elena. It was his 2nd mistake in as many moments, Number 1, it draws Rebekah's anger on Elena, and number 2 he admitted he cared about Elena.
"Whoever he is, he is a lucky guy." The holy trinity of mistakes. Rebekah would surely know something is up now. Stefan never was a good actor or poker player for that matter, and if Rebekah didn't know something was up then she was really, really dense, which the Rebekah that Stefan knew in the 1920s was anything but dense.

Rebekah just rolled her eyes at Stefan. Sometimes Ripper Stefan was harder to talk to then a wall, he was uncaring, and it was fine to talk to him when she didn't care herself, but now that she was caring and he wasn't, it was almost impossible. But there was something in his voice, something that was... off. Sure, he talked like he didn't give a damn, he talked a big game, but there was a hint of something, a hint of feelings in his words, even the cold and callous ones. It seemed weird to her but maybe he was really trying, no, why would he, he didn't owe Rebekah anything?
"Yeah, the bane of my existence, The latest doppleganger." Rebekah told him, yeah she hated Elena, Stefan's love for her made Stefan not want to get back with Rebekah when her brother finally undaggered her and Stefan found out the truth. Would Stefan get back with her even if he hadn't met and fell in love with Elena, who knows, maybe, maybe not, but at least she would of had a shot back then. Though Rebekah wasn't really over it, she probably never would be, but she wasn't gonna go and rip Elena limb from limb or anything like that, not unless she had a real reason.
There it was again, his voice, it wasn't right. He couldn't be, could he? Only an Original vampire can un-compel him, and she and Nik were the only two that were awake, and Nik didn't do it, and if she did it, she would of remembered. But for some reason, she knew it, he cared, he had his emotions on, however it happened, she knew it and he couldn't hide it anymore. Well, Nik never told him to keep his emotions off, just to turn them off, Stefan was the one to decide rather or not to turn them back on. A mistake on Niks fault, but it was what it was.
Rebekah grinned at him. "How does it feel, knowing you killed all those people. Knowing that you drank the precious blood of your beloved Elena?" Rebekah asked him quirking an eyebrow at him, he wanted to hurt her then she was gonna have some fun with him, she was gonna upset him. "No use in pretending anymore Stefan, I am not dumb, you know that." Rebekah pointed out, showing him that she saw right through his facade. The jig was up, and Stefan would just look like a fool if he continued to try and pretend.

"I don't feel a thing." Stefan lied, though it was clear that Rebekah was on to him, he had to keep his secret, she was sure to run off to Klaus and tell him everything, and there was gonna be repercussions, and everyone that Stefan held near and dear to him, Elena, Lexi, Damon, Caroline, and many others were gonna be in trouble and who knows how Klaus'es wrath would be enacted upon them if he found out the truth. So he had to keep the guise up, he had to continue to try and pretend, for all of their sakes.
But Rebekah called him on it again. Stefan sighed, raising his eyebrow at her and nodding his head softly. She was right, she wasn't that dumb, she wasn't dumb at all, and she saw right through the facade. Stefan had to give it up. The only thing left to do was.. beg. Beg Rebekah to not tell Klaus, to not ruin the life he worked so hard to get back to. "Rebekah..." Stefan began looking at her, why couldn't he pretend, just for one day that he was still the ripper that Klaus wanted him to be? Returning to school so soon was his worst idea yet.
"So I guess you are gonna go and tell Klaus on me." Stefan said to her, leaning against the hood of a car, he thinks it belongs to one of the teachers, but it hardly mattered at the present time who's car it was. He was looking the devil in the face, and the devil had something on him, and either revenge or blackmail was incoming, and Stefan could only hope to avoid the brunt of the attack, and somehow get all his friends to safety, but he didn't know how to do that, Klaus would track them down and it would all be over.
"Rebekah... please, don't." A hint of pleading was in his voice, right now, for all Stefan knew, Klaus was in the dark on what was going on, and he needed it to stay that way, but the blonde original could change all of that if she wanted to, and Stefan was powerless to stop her, all he had was words, and those would not be enough to stop Rebekah when she put her mind to something, but Stefan had to try, there was no ifs, ands, or buts about it.

Rebekah could hear the pleading in his voice. Just at the sound of her name. Stefan Salvatore, the Ripper of Monterey, begging her for mercy? There was something incredibly satisfing about it, but also, incredibly sad and pathetic. The Stefan she knew would beg no one for nothing. "My how the mighty have fallen." Rebekah spoke to him, though her tone implied a teasing nature, she couldn't help but feel bad for him. The look on his face was one she never saw from him before, and it was love. Love not for her, like at one time she wanted, but love for his friends and Elena.
She rolled her eyes at him as he asked if she was gonna run and tell Nik. "What am I his personal messenger?" Rebekah asked him sarcastically. The thought did cross her mind to run off and tell Nik, she wouldn't lie about that. But what did she care, honestly, if Nik knew or not? Rebekah only cared about what Nik would do to Stefan and his precious loved ones if he found out. Elena would be bled nearly dry, almost to the point of death, Caroline, Lexi, Damon would all feel the wrath of Niklaus Mikaelson in some way or another, and this town would never be the same again.
Rebekah considered this, and a few weeks ago, she would want all that to happen. But things change, and Rebekah was trying to change herself. She approached him, looking him in the eyes. "Don't worry love, your secret is safe with me." Rebekah told him flat out, her voice serious for the first time since finding out the truth about Stefan and his emotions. She shrugged. "I do not benefit at all from telling Nik anything, so why should I?" She pointed out, hoping that would answer his inevitable question of why she was being so kind.
"But just tell me one thing first... Did you ever feel anything for me? At all?" Rebekah asked him as she continued to look at him, her eyes pleaded to know the answer, like his was pleading with her to not inform Nik. When Stefan finally said his answer she shrugged. The news changed very little between them, and changed very little about how Rebekah felt about everything else, but it was good to know for once. "Thanks..." She said before walking off, the conversation was over, Rebekah knew his dirty little secret, and she wasn't telling.

Her teasing words sounded like doom to Stefan. Rebekah didn't care, it seemed, that if she told Klaus it was all over, everything would change and for the worse in Stefan's life. Stefan didn't blame Rebekah, he knew that it was like her to put family first, to put Klaus in front of everyone else, he also knew that it was typical of Rebekah, to rat him or anyone out. It was just how she was raised, or lack there of as it were. Stefan's eyes soon began to water, this was how his friends were gonna die, because he was an idiot.
But then her voice changed to serious. In a moment of perhaps rare compassion from Rebekah she told him that she wasn't gonna tell Klaus, that his friends were not in any danger, for now anyways. Stefan managed a soft smile filled with confusion. Stefan was about to ask why, why in the world would Rebekah be so generous, be so kind as to not tell on him, but she answered his question before he could ask it himself. He nodded again, he somehow knew it wasn't the full truth, and he didn't expect it, but for some reason, Stefan believe Rebekah.
He believed that she wasn't gonna tell on him. "Thank you, Rebekah." Stefan said to her quietly. She then said she wanted to know something and Stefan didn't like the question. Did he ever feel anything for her? Like really feel? Stefan thought about this for the longest time when he found out the truth. About what exactly he felt about Rebekah in the 1920's. Was it love? No, most certainly not, it was physical, pure and simple, Stefan enjoyed being with her because simply of her energy and personality back then. Stefan was such a moron as a ripper back then.
But she wanted to know if he felt anything at all about her, not just love. "Rebekah, whatever I felt back then I no longer and will never feel again." Stefan replied to her, it seemed to satisfy her cause she thanked him and walked off. It wasn't a full admission of how he felt, but it was an admission that he felt something, something that has long since passed and it was never coming back. School was starting soon and Stefan was always regretting this decision to return today. He wondered what else could happen and he knew that sooner or later, it was gonna get bad.
