-------------------------- [/b] --------------------------[/b] Maria woke up this morning knowing she needed to do something, she needed to go and get her life back in order. She could not do this anymore. She could not keep simply going through the motions, she needed to live. She was trying to figure out the best way to get this done as she looked through some note pads filled with songs she had written so long ago. As she read them she could not help but feel like this had been written down a life time ago. Each song reminded her of something she had done before. A place she had been, people she had seen. And of course the people she had lost, Alex. It was a lost she never was going to be able to get over. He had been taken far too young and had died because of the whole alien thing. It had strain her relationship with the aliens in a way. She had come to understand that it was not their fault but at the same time, she felt that they never came into their lives she would never have lost Alex. Of course she would have never meet and fell in love with Michael. And even if he never was the perfect boyfriend she still loved him more than she had ever love someone before.
They had hurt each other deeply over the years but she had learn to deal with it. Live with it, and now she missed him more than she could have ever though she would. It was why she needed to focus on something else, do something with her life right now because she was about to go insane before she could not have him with her. She knew it was not safe. But often she dreamt that he would simply find her again and tell her that he didn’t care that it was dangerous and that he could not be away from her anymore. She knew it was impossible and it was killing her. Still she was hoping. Maybe that little bit of hope was the one thing that was keeping her going. Hoping that one day their lives could finally go back to normal. Or well just how normal it could be for people like her. She knew that things would never be fully normal even if the FBI stopped following them. Such was the life of aliens are their friends.
Finally dropping her notebooks to the ground, Maria walked out of the living room and took her keys. She was just going to drive. She had no idea where she was going to go but she would drive. It was how she had happen here the first time around and maybe this time it would help her again.she got behind the wheel of her car and like everytime she did, she missed her jetta. The thing was also broken but she still loved it. With a small sighed she drove off. Without thinking she found herself paking the car in the parking lot of the beach. She clearly was not dressed for the beach but she could still take her shoes off and walk on the sand. She had always loved the ocean. Grabbing her bag she walked out and as soon as she reached the sandy part of the beach she took her shoes off and walked off. It felt warm under her feet and she was enjoying it. It had been far too long since the last time she had went on a beach.
Maria found a quiet spot and sat down on the sand and simply watched the ocean. For some reason it was rather soothing.

So Michael coming to Virginia had a reason after all. He just made his way there. He didn't know why, but running into Isabel like that at the diner, he knew he made the right decision coming here. Michael had no idea where anyone else was, he knew Max and Isabel were both here, but part of him just wanted to find the rest of them too, Liz and Kyle and Maria. Especially Maria. Michael was never the romantic sort, his idea of romance was sharing a snapple and giving the girl a brown paper bag with a huge bottle of shampoo, plus conditioner of course, but that is beside the point.
Though at this point, Michael might act like he was in a movie if he ran into Maria again. He really didn't know, after 5 years romantic notions seemed like a pipe dream at this point in time. Michael finished his peach snapple and tossed the bottle into the garbage can. He had been walking for quite awhile, long enough to finish the entire bottle and he didn't even realize where he was until he looked up and around him. Michael was at the beach. They were never close to the beach in Roswell, it was more like a dessert with mountains then beachy.
That was the interesting thing about Richmond, as they had everything around here. Forest type areas, beaches, towns. It was almost the complete opposite of Roswell. This just made Michael miss Roswell and his friends even more. Michael was sure that if alcohol didn't make him hurt so badly then he would be a heavy drinker by now. There was a bright side to being an alien, you couldn't have any fun. He walked down to the beach and took his shoes off, walking right up to the water letting the tide come in and soak his feet.
Michael grabbed a rock and threw it into the ocean. He had seen it in a movie once or twice. Michael really needed to get a life. He had one. Sure it wasn't always the perfect life in Roswell, in fact it was far from it, but it was a life that Michael would of never traded for anything. Michael sat back into the sand, letting the water continue to caress his feet. He knew he couldn't sit here all day and look at the Atlantic coast line. So Michael stood up and began walking along the beach. He wondered what Maria was doing right now.
For all Michael knew, she probably moved on. Michael wouldn't blame her if she found a normal guy with a normal job, maybe a musician, and they toured together. Michael didn't tell anyone, but he kept up with the music industry. Not that he cared about any of the music, but because he knew if Maria made it, he would be the first in line to buy her album, and tickets to her sold out concert. Another thing that aliens took from Maria. Michael doubted he would ever see her name in the headlines, but he wanted to, he wanted it for her.
His thoughts were broken when he spotted a girl sitting in the sand ahead of him. Michael moved to avoid walking right into her, as he didn't want to kick sand in her face, and that is when he noticed her face. Michael began to wonder if he was just imagining it, if he was seeing things. "Maria?" Michael said her name seeing her face now more clearly. There was no mistaking it, it was her, his Maria, sitting right in front of him. Michael was speechless. For the first time ever, seemingly, he didn't know what to say. Normally he spoke his mind, but there was nothing to speak right this moment.

-------------------------- [/b] --------------------------[/b] There was so much going on right now. When she had first gotten here she had only managed to catch up with Liz who was also there. But recently she had found out about Max after he had showed up to the grill during one of her shift and of course it had broke her heart again. Because she was afraid this was all a lie. That it had been all a tactic to get them together and that soon enough they were going to lose it all. That the people that were after them were going to find them and it would be the end of it all. That they were just waiting for all of them to be at the same place at the same time. Would make it easier to get caught.
It was why she had kept quiet about Max and Liz being in the same town. She felt terrible for keeping such a thing from her friends but she had to. She couldn’t let them figure it out because once they did, there was no way she was going to be able to stop them from being together and she was afraid they were not going to be careful about it. Not that she could really blame them. Had the roles been reversed she would have reacted the same way. If she could have one chance to be with Michael again she would take it. She didn’t care how dangerous it could be.
Because even if he was not the most perfect boyfriend in the world and had a tendency to forget to wash his sheets, she still loved him more than anything or anyone. He was the only person she wanted to be with, she knew that. She had tried to stay away from him but it had never worked. Nothing like this could ever work because he was the one she wanted to spend the rest of her life with and if she could not have him, she didn’t want anyone else. She had try to get someone else into her life but she knew it would never work. He was the one for her like she was the one for him, no matter what destiny had said before.
Destiny had been wrong. It had never been Isabel and Michael together, it had always been Maria and Michael. She knew that and while she was okay with it she hated that she could not have him around her anymore. She needed him more than she wanted to let on. Admitting she needed him would only end up hurting her because she could not have him. She could not be with him. She heard her name being called, her real name and she looked up quick on her feet because it was not possible. she knew that voice but it could not be him.
Life was never easy for them so this could not be. And yet there he was, she blinked a couple of times as if she could wake up because this had to be a dream. She pinched herself as if this was actually going to make her wake up. “Michael…” she whispered unable to move, stuck in this moment right here. until finally she cool move. Finally she could breath again. It didn’t not take long after that before she ran over to him. Screw the fact that he had never been the overly romantic one, she didn’t care about this as she threw her arms around him.
She didn’t care that this was going to be short lived and that soon enough things would change for them and would end up for the worst. But right now she needed to enjoy this moment. She closed her eyes. “please tell me this is really you…”

When she ran to his arms it caught Michael a little off guard. Maria was happy to see him, she missed him as much as he missed her. What caught Michael more off guard was what he did when she got into his arms. He lifted her up and held her, his arms wrapped around her waist, his lips kissing her forehead. Michael thought it was a scene straight out of a love movie. All that was missing was the camera flare behind them that made them look like angels as they stood in the sunlight, and it would be a perfect love movie scene. Her words snapped him out of his thoughts.
She wanted to know if it was him, really him. Michael didn't know how to proof it to her except by saying one thing. "The moment I kidnapped you and stole your car I knew you were the girl for me." The one line he always thought was the most romantic thing he had ever said to Maria, even though most romances would not start off that way. He echoed this line the line he said to her right before they graduated. If Maria cared about him as much as she was showing him by being in his arms, then she would remember this line like it happened yesterday, not 5 years ago.
It was the only thing he could think to say in that moment to prove that it was him. Michael wondered if he had been dreaming, if this was real, if Maria was really in his arms right now. If it was a dream, it was the best one he had had in years, and that was a fact. Michael moved her to arms length so he can look into her eyes. "I meant what I said that day, and I would of said it more often if things that happened hadn't. I'll always love you." Michael told her, he felt like he was being too romantic. If this was a dream, it didn't matter how romantic he was. And if this was real, then the more romantic the better right?
Michael didn't know how to test if it was a dream or not. Should he pinch himself? That would be really easy for Maria to spot if he did. OK Michael, this has to be real life, it has to, I don't remember going to sleep. He thought to himself. He would remember right. Holding her at arms length staring into her eyes, hoping they would betray her as not the real Maria in someway, but they didn't, they were her eyes, she was real, he could feel her, her warmth, she was real and he knew it now. He cleared his throat, realizing that he was being to romantic and it was probably freaking her out.
"I missed you." Michael told her, they had a million things to say to each other, and that was the best he could come up with. Was that he missed her. "What are you doing here Maria?" Michael asked her, it was a valid question. How was all of this even possible. They were all making their ways to Richmond right now. It was like they were all drawn there for some reason, but Michael didn't know why. Part of him wanted to get to the bottom of this mystery, to find out why. Was it a trap? Was it fate? Maybe they were just lucky.
One thing was for sure, a huge part of him didn't care. All he wanted was to be with Maria and be with her again and be her boyfriend again and be her space boy again.

Maria could barely believe her eyes, this was really happening. The moment she had been waiting for for so long. She had replayed this moment in her mind so many times before, hoping that one day it would be true and now there it was. It was really happening and he was really there. Of course she could not help but wonder how long he was here for but she didn’t want to think about this, she wanted to enjoy this small moment of happiness something she didn’t get to have to often.
She felt his arms wrap around her and she smiled. This clearly was not something she had expected out of him and had she not been so sure she was awake it would have felt like a dream. She felt his lips on her skin and knew this was real. She had never felt his kisses in her dreams so this was true. She heard his voice and felt the tears tickling her eyeslashes. It was really him. He had told him the same words many years ago and even after all this time it was enough to bring her to tears. It really was him. She could not even speak right now she didn’t want to move afraid she was going to break this perfect moment.
But then he moved her away from his embrace and for a moment she was afraid. Why was he pushing her away a small part of her was expecting some bad news. But he simply looked at her and it didn’t take too long before her eyes found his once again. He had grew up, changed and yet his eyes were still the same. She could remember every moment they had spent together just by looking into those eyes. “I know and I will always love you to.” She whispered. “I have never stopped loving you. I have been waiting for this moment forever. Waiting for you to come back to me…” she knew he would find a way to come back to her. They were meant to be together and nothing could ever change that. No one would ever change that, some people had tried to come between them and well it had worked in part it had never fully worked they had always found their way back to each other.
It was clear to her they had been meant to be together, destiny had not managed to break them apart, Courtney had not, Billy had not. Yes they had broke up but always had they found their way back to each other. Maria felt herself fall into his eyes getting lost into them again. “It is really you, I can’t believe the moment is here.” she told him reaching to touch his arm as if she could barely believe he was there which was rather true, she had trouble believing it. But finally this was him, for once she was not seeing some guy down the street and thinking it was him this had happen to many times to her and it always embarrassing.
“I have missed you to…” she told him moving in for another hug wanting to breath in his scent. “I have missed you more than anything…” she pressed her face into his chest. “I don’t even know why I’m here. one day I just knew I needed to drive and found myself here. got a apartment got a job. It was like I knew I had to be around here. well actually my place is in mystic fall but yeah close enough.” She explained with a small laugh. “what about you? What are you doing here?” she was afraid he was going to say he was just passing through.

Michael wanted to just tell her that he wanted to come back to her for a long time. But he couldn't. He couldn't find the words to say it, all he knew was Maria looked as beautiful as ever. Michael played this moment in his head a million times before, and if he were Max right now, he would know exactly what to say. Max always knew what to say to Liz, Michael wasn't so lucky. Maria understood of course, at least she seemed to, it didn't make him any happier about it. What would Max say? Michael asked himself that question a 100 times.
"I never wanted to leave you. I had to. To keep you safe." Michael told her, he couldn't help it really, he couldn't be an emotionless zombie right now, he couldn't help but be romantic. "I shouldn't have left you. I'm here now." He told Maria holding her close to him again. Forget being to romantic. This was 5 years in the making, if he couldn't be romantic in this moment, then there was no hope for him. He owed it to Maria being apart from her for 5 years. In short he had 5 years worth of romance to make up for, for Maria.
"Its really me Maria, your space boy." Michael told her when she asked him if it was really him. If anyone else called him space boy he would probably kick their ass, but not Maria, he secretly liked when she said that to him. Michael couldn't believe this moment was here either, but it was, and it was real. But he didn't know what to do, words were great, but they could only do so much. What were they gonna do? Pick up where they left off? Did they have to get to know each other all over again? "What now?" Michael asked Maria hoping she could answer.
As she hugged him he placed his hand on the back of her hand, holding her head gently to him. Michael was glad that she missed him, not that he was glad that it was hard on her, he was glad she cared enough to miss him. Michael for some reason thought that of all the people in the group, he would be the one that would be missed the least. Maybe by the others, they might have missed him the least, but Maria missed him a lot, he could tell. Michael always felt that way, probably cause no one wanted him as a kid and he got stuck with Hank.
"Its sort of the same to me. I just came to the realization one day that I had to be with everyone again. I didn't know where anyone was so I just started walking, and found myself here. Like I was suppose to come here." Michael told her truthfully, it was really odd in his mind and he didn't know how to explain it. They would have to get to the bottom of it, not that he wasn't happy it was working out, but why here? Why Richmond? Why now? "Max and Isabel are here as well." Michael said to her, though he hadn't seen Max, he knew Max was in the area.
"Have you heard from anyone else? Kyle? Liz?" Michael asked her, were they all here? The whole group that left that day from Roswell New Mexico? Them being all together might have been dangerous, but they were strong, they all, accept for Maria and Kyle, though Kyle might have them, had powers. They can defend themselves from the FBI and the Army and the National Guard and whoever else had it out for them. They weren't defenseless, and they belonged together, so why did they have to be apart for so long? It ends now.
"I'm not going anywhere... Without you." Michael told her finally.

There were so many questions she wanted to ask him, but she could barely think right now. It had been five years, five years since she had been able to lay her eyes on him, five years since she had been able to let him know how she felt for him. She hoped he had not forgotten, because she had never forgotten the things he had told her, these words were the ones that kept her going, reminded her that he loved her and that one day they would be together again. She had spent so many times replaying every moment they had spent together in her mind to keep herself sane and it had mostly work.
But now that he was here she felt like she was losing it. Because this was so much. She had wanted this moment to be here for so long and now that I was here she could barely believe it was. “I know…” she managed to stay trying to not cry, she knew that once she allow herself to shed only one tear she would not be able to stop, this was five years in the making, five years of waiting for this perfect moment. The sound of the ocean echoing into her ears, this scene could have been straight out of some science fiction romantic movie if there was even such a thing. “it’s okay you had to leave. I understand…”
Maria laughed when he referred to himself as her space boy. She had always figured he hated the nickname not that she would have stopped using it anyway. Hearing these words broke her down and finally she let herself shed a few tears trying to not cry too much but as predicted, it was not an easy task. She tried her best to wipe away the tears she hated to cry but at least these were tears of joy, something she had not done in quite a long time, cry because she was happy but there it was finally. A moment of pure happiness.
“yes it’s really you, my own space boy.” She looked up at him. “I have no idea what now, but I know I never want to let you go, ever again, you are mine…I’m not letting you leave again.” Maria warned him. “I don’t care how dangerous it is, I am not staying away from you. If you leave than I leave. that is all.” She didn’t care if he would not let her because he wanted to protect her or something like this, she was staying with him and that was the end of it.
“do you this it was a tactic by people who wanted us all together or maybe it was just meant to be?” she could not help but ask him. Michael had always been rather paranoid, so if he didn’t see a plan in this, if he told her that everything was fine, she would agree with him. She would let her guard down and stop believing that this was too good to be true. Perhaps they had done their waiting and now it was finally time for them to be happy. After all of this time they did deserve it.
“liz is here.” maria told him letting go of her embrace and taking his hand so they could sit down. “max is also here but I don’t know about the rest…” she told him. “do you know where anyone else is?” Maria asked him. If they could all get together even if it was just for a moment it would be wonderful.

"It will never happen again, no matter what." Michael told her. It was true, no matter what happened, no matter who was after them, no matter what Max said, they needed to hold on to each other. That's all that mattered. Maria was everything to Michael, just like Liz was everything to Max. Sure it was dangerous, sure it might end badly, but part of Michael would prefer it ending with Maria then not with her at all. It was a bad thought, sure, it was hard to think about, but that was their lot in life, they had to deal with things normal people didn't have to.
Spotting her cry he placed his hand on her neck and moved his thumb to wipe away the tear. Michael knew that if she kept this up then any moment he might lose it to, but he had to forcefully stop himself from doing that. "Maria, its ok to cry." Michael said her name quietly, he felt himself choking up a little bit, but he fought it, he knew if he started crying tears of happiness as well, then it would only make her cry worse. So as always Michael had to be strong for both of them. He knew she just had to get it out, and maybe if she knew it was ok then she would just get it out of her system as quickly as she could.
He smiled weakly at her. Sure part of him hated being called Space Boy, it was just how he was. But he knew it would comfort her in some way to say it. So he didn't mind it in this moment, in normal moments, away from this setting from this moment, he would probably be upset by it in more ways then one, but right now, it was ok. He nodded in agreement. "I won't leave you, and I never want you to leave me as well." He told her, feeling himself lose a little bit of control on his feelings now. Michael dared not argue with her anyways, even if he wanted to, there was no changing her mind, and he knew it.
She was determined to stay with him, and that was that. He wanted it no other way honestly, and even if he did, she was to stubborn to concede to it. "Yes Maria, we will face everything together from now on, no matter what." Michael told her. Sure it was probably a bad promise to make, sure it put her in a lot of danger, but he would protect her, he would lay his life down for her, so even if the worst should happen, he knew that she would be alright as he knew he would never let anything bad happen to her, and that was just a fact.
Michael honestly didn't know how to answer Maria's next question. Part of him wanted to just tell her that he knew everything was gonna be ok, but if something did happen, he didn't want to make that promise only to have it broken later. Michael shrugged. "I hope so, I don't know of a reason why anyone would want to bring us all to Virginia together." Michael told her truthfully. She then told him that Liz was here, and Max too, but he already knew that Max was here. He wondered if they got back together yet or not, "Are they together?" Michael asked her.
"Isabel is in Richmond." Michael told her looking down at the ground at the thought of Kyle. It was odd, even though Michael and Kyle were never the best of friends, he still wanted to know if he was safe or not. He knew about everyone else, but not him, and that for some reason bothered him, maybe it was the protector in him, maybe it wasn't, who knows. "I don't know about Kyle." He told Maria, somehow making his voice sound neutral on the topic. At least everyone else was nearby and seemingly safe, and that was all that mattered.

Maria could only nod at this words. It was like even if she had been able to hold her to her sanity for the past five years, now that he was here she could not, she felt like she was going to drive herself insane right this moment. Maybe it was because for the past five years she had put all her emotions away, buried them deep inside so she would not have to think about them and now that Michael was here, she could not stop herself anymore. He was the one to bring all those emotions back to life. He was making her alive once more. And she didn’t want to have to go without this feeling ever again. It had been to hard and she didn’t want that anymore. She didn’t want to fight her feelings ever again.
It was a shame really that it had taken them five years to realised just how much they all needed each other around but now that it was here, she knew they could never go back to being away from each other. Right now she could not even rememeber why it had been a good idea in the first place because really it felt like it was the most stupid idea they had ever had. She could not even remember that it had been for their own protection. The whole point behind it was completely lost on her right now. The whole being safe thing was so far into her mind she could barely see it anymore.
“if I start to cry, I’m afraid it will never stop.” Maria told him. “I feel like I have been holding on these emotions for so long and now I just can’t stop feeling you know…” she didn’t even know if this was making any sense to him. It was not really making sense into her mind, everything that was running into her mind did not really make any sense at the moment. Maria smiled at him through her tears. “I am never leaving you again, you don’t even have to worry about this. There is no way I’m going to take the chance of losing you ever again. I don’t even know how I managed to make this work for so long…” Maria told him honestly. She felt like for once she could finally be herself, that she didn’t have to hide behind her Lucy character.
“you don’t have to worry about me leaving you again. Really you are stuck with me starting now.” She added with a smile. “I have known life without you and I don’t ever want to have to know it again really. I want to be with you and only you.” It was not safe being together she knew that deep down but she didn’t care anymore, she wanted to be with him, needed to be with him, the rest didn’t really matter anymore, as long as she got to be with him, she would finally be happy. The rest would fall into place.
Maria cleared her throat. “well what if whoever would wants us together figured that it would be an easy way to take us down. I mean they would not even have to search for us since we would all be here…” she told him sharing her fear with him, she figured if there was someone who would understand it was Michael. “I want to make sure we are safe you know…I want you around I need you around. But I’m so scared that I could lose you to these people…” she said referring to the FBI. She shook her head. “I don’t think they are, I don’t even think they know that one another is here…” she said finally admitting the secret she had kept from her two best friends.
“we need to find Kyle.” She to him. “it is not fair if he is the only one alone.” They were all here so Kyle needed to be with them. She was sure it was more dangerous to have him alone than with the rest of them. “he can’t be out there alone.” Maria told Michael. “how long have you been in town? Where are you staying?”

"I guess I know how you feel." Michael told Maria. Maria has been hiding her feelings for 5 years, Michael had been hiding his feelings for a lot longer then that. That night he showed up to Maria's window, tears in his eyes, that was just part of what he was feeling that night. If he was gonna be completely honest with Maria, that night when he cried, if he didn't fall asleep in her warm embrace, then he would of cried all night. Michael didn't want Maria to cry all day, but he didn't want her to hold it in anymore either. So what was he to do?
"You don't have to pretend everything is gonna be alright anymore. Because in the first time in a long time, I promise you, everything is gonna be alright." Michael told her. Michael didn't feel 100% comfortable with promising something like that to her, with their lives the way they are, Michael couldn't promise that they will make it past tomorrow, or the next day, or the next day. But in this moment, he meant it, everything right now was gonna be ok, atleast between Michael ad Maria, there was nothing that was gonna break them a part.
"There are far worse things to be stuck with forever." Michael replied with a chuckle. He used humor to hide the fact of how much her words meant to him in this moment. He thought he was gonna cry if he didn't hide his feelings with humor at that moment. "I want to be with you too, more then anything. You are all I thought about the last 5 years." Michael told her truthfully. He felt a lump in his throat, as he held back tears. He had to remain strong for Maria, he had to be. Michael just took her hand in his and held it.
"If that's the case..." Michael said, not really knowing how to continue that statement. What if this was some big trap? Michael wasn't told to come here by anyone, he just did. Why would fate bring them together only to ruin their lives, or get each other killed? "If that is the case we will face them together. Think about it Maria, Me, Max, Isabel, Liz. We can do stuff no other humans can do. We will take them on, and they will be the ones that fall into our trap, not us. Not again. I will not lose you again!" Michael said, this team tears did form in his eyes.
"Your not gonna lose me and I am not gonna lose you. And that's that. Let them come, let them bring their guns and gadgets and whatever else they want to use." Michael said, maybe he was being stubborn, maybe he was being stupid, but Max always said they were stronger together. They have something they didn't have before now, they have each other. Michael wasn't gonna let them break up again, not this time. They were gonna stay together, not just him and Maria, but Max, and Liz, and Isabel, and Kyle. All of them, Michael was gonna see to it.
Michael hoped he didn't scare Maria with his sudden outburst. But at least he was being honest with her again. She mentioned finding Kyle. "You think he... turned into one of us?" Michael asked her, referring to the possibility that Kyle was now an alien as well. Michael had Max and Isabel when they were growing up developing their powers, Liz had everyone looking out for her. If Kyle was alone the last 5 years, he had no one. They kind of abandoned him when he needed them most. Part of Michael didn't want Kyle to get powers, cause he would of been scared and alone.
"A few days." Michael answered her first question. "I have a motel room a few blocks away." Michael told her, smiling a little bit considering what happened between them in that motel room all those years ago. Michael was use to living in a motel by now, so he didn't mind it.

-------------------------- [/b] --------------------------[/b] Of course he knew how she felt, but she did not expect him to let her know completely, even if she knew he trusted her, this was also Michael and he didn’t talk about his feelings all that much, he had always been one to keep to himself she was fully aware of it and that was one of the many things she liked about him. Even if it was one of the things that pissed her off she also loved it. It was part of who he was and over the years she had learn to love every part of him even the ones that she use to hate.
“everything?” she asked him in a small voice. Everything actually sounded like a whole lot and it was somewhat scary. Was she okay with everything being all right? of course she was but at the same time she didn’t want to have to big of expectations and only end up getting hurt in the end because they would not be real. She needed this to work out. But even if it was only the small things that worked out as long as they were together she would be okay. “even if things don’t work out perfectly I mean not everything perfectly, I would still be okay with it as long as you are by my side…” maria whispered afraid to break the moment.
“yeah I’m sure there are a few things worst. Maybe not a whole lot but just a few…” she told him with a smile. This was the Michael she loved and remembered. The one that was not as sweet and as romantic as she would have wished when they first started dating. And of course they had fought far too many times over this but really she did love him and wanted nothing more than to be around him. “you were the only thing that was keeping me going during those years.” Maria told him, she knew this was a lot for him, telling her these things and she felt even more on the verge of tears before of it.
When he spoke again after she had mention the whole trap thing, she was afraid that he was going to tell her that it was not going to work. That they would have to stop while they were ahead because they were just going to hurt one another. That they would have to run again and that he could not even stand the idea of losing her again after that so it was better to just part ways right away. She started to feel as if she was going to lose her mind and she could not think straight. But finally he spoke again. He had not even taken his time that much but to her it had seemed like forever and a day. Maria reached over to touch his face as she saw the tears in his eyes. “it’s okay.” She told him not letting him know if she was talking about the fact that they would face this together or the fact that he could cry and it was okay.
“we are in this together.” She said after him wanting to make sure he knew that she was not going to let him go after this. They were going to fight together and make this work. It had been too long since the last time, they were now stronger than before, smarter and more mature. They could fight back. “I’m not afraid anymore. I’m not afraid to fight them” she was not as strong as they were and she didn’t have the powers that they had but she was still going to stand up for her friends.
Maria thought for a moment. Had kyle turned as well? and it killed her to think that he had changed on his own. While he had known what was happening to him, he had still been alone. The should have thought this through, they should have realized what would have happen to Kyle when they all went their separate ways. She hoped he had been all right. ‘’well Liz did change and well it’s not like there are research on this but I`m afraid he might have and if he did then he was alone when it happen and…’’ Maria didn’t even want to think on how hard it had been for Kyle to do this alone.
‘’well you don`t have to stay at the apartment if you don’t want to, but I mean you could live with me...’’ Maria proposed to him. ‘’you don’t have to stay in some motel…`’’

"I hope so." Michael told her, now looking at the ocean. He really didn't know what the next day would bring, but for now, everything was alright, he had Maria back, and that is what mattered more then anything. He nodded at her next line, that was how he felt as well. Even if they didn't have the perfect life together like Maria deserved, they would be together. As long as Michael had her and she had him then in the end, that was what mattered most in Michael's. "I don't know what tomorrow is gonna bring us, but we will face it together." Michael told her.
Michael couldn't help but smile at Maria's reply to him about far worse things to be stuck with. Maria knew that she meant the world to Michael, even if he didn't tell her so every day, she knew it to be a fact. Truth was Michael couldn't think of anything or anyone he would rather be "stuck" with for the rest of his life. Maria was his life really, she was the only reason he wanted to stay on earth and just a few weeks ago he wished he had left, because he didn't have Maria anymore. Now he did, he got her back and you would have to drag Michael kicking and screaming from Earth.
Her next line was almost to much for Michael. It meant a lot to him that she missed and needed him as much as he needed her. It was hard for Michael to tell someone his feelings when his feelings were like this, as he didn't want to seem weak and such. He was stubborn, but that was common knowledge by now. Michael guessed that Maria probably knew how he felt about what she said, Maria was pretty good at understanding Michael's feelings, especially the ones he kept inside and hidden. It was like she could read him like a book sometimes.
Not always, sometimes she could be as clueless about his feelings as he was most of the time about hers. Michael never blamed Maria, he was not always an easy guy to read, which is the understatement of the century. It was not like Michael to break down and cry, even a little, he only did it one other time in front of another person, and it was with Maria. She was the only one that he would cry in front of. Maybe cause Michael knew she needed to see him in such sad states, like it strengthened their bond or something. She needed to be his emotional rock as much as he needed to protect her.
Michael took Maria's hands and held them to his face when she placed them their. Michael nodded at her words, but he forced himself to stop shedding tears, this was suppose to be a happy moment after all. Michael was glad from the change of topic, glad they weren't talking about if this was some sort of weird trap and if someone planned on trying to capture them or not, even if Michael wanted to tell Maria that he didn't want her to fight, she would be to stubborn to listen to him anyways, and if anything they needed to face everything together, so there was something she could do if the worst should happen.
The topic about Kyle was kinda mixed for Michael. Michael didn't dislike Kyle, but they weren't the closest in the group, but he didn't deserve to face changing alone, and Michael understood why Maria was upset over it. "It's ok Maria, we will find him, we will bring everyone together, we are saver that way." Michael said. Truth was, he wasn't certain if they were better off together or not, it was an untested theory, but he didn't want to spend another day like he did the last 5 years, that was not a life, that was living hell.
She told him that he didn't have to stay in the motel anymore if he didn't want to, that he could come and stay with her. "You mean it? You know, I may not use the coasters and I may watch sports and burp and stuff." Michael said to her, he was a guy after all, but he was now mature enough that he felt he and Maria could live together and he would not do boneheaded stuff to piss her off, though he probably would. Michael decided not to answer her proposal with words, he decided to answer it a different way, a way there was no way she can misinterpret...
Michael leaned over and kissed her gently on the lips, their first kiss in over five years. Michael didn't realize it, and it was a complete accident, but it must of been really romantic. Kissing your girlfriend after 5 years sitting on the beach as the sun set. Romance writers had a harder time writing the perfect end of their books, but this wasn't a book, and this story was far from over.
The End
Tags: Maria DeLuca Words: 843 Notes: Its ok, no worries. Also, I decided for now that we should end this thread as much as I love it. Your busy with a wedding and I may be without internet access for a few days or more, so it makes sense. I'm trying to get as many threads done as I can before I lose my internet. We can and WILL start a 2nd one for them when our real lives stop getting in the way
