- - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - -Max opened his eyes into the darkness, he was in a motel room, he wasn’t at the beach…it was all just a dream. The man stood up and looked out the window then went back and sat on his bed turning on the lamp light. He rubbed his eyes and then just sat there. He had been running for a long time now and he was away from Liz. He hadn’t even remembered the last time he talked to her but he couldn’t just sit in this motel room anymore. He had been running from the FBI for quite some time but he hadn’t contacted Liz in five years…he wasn’t going to just spend the rest of his life running, he needed to see her. Some may say he was crazy for trying to take that risk but he took a risk when he saved her life that day and he was going to take the risk once again just to see her. It had been five years since the group had last seen each other and that was a little too long for his liking. Max had always been the rational one and he took precautions but right now all he wanted was his family back.
He needed a plan though, and he wasn’t sure where to go or search. All he knew right now was that he was going to find the woman who had been through all of this with him, Liz. He needed to find her first, he missed her. Then he realized that it was still dangerous to be even remotely close to her...he couldn't find her yet, he had to make sure that the FBI had lost track and given up. He didn't want to think of it anymore, he needed to get out of this town he was in and move into a new one just in case they were following. Max was going to go to Richmond, it was far and he could stay hidden. He got in the car he bought with the fake I.D. he made with his powers and headed off to the town that would be his new home for now, until he had to go on the run again but he had hoped that finally he could be less paranoid.
He arrived in Richmond not sure where to go, all he knew was that he needed to find a place to lie low at least for now. He didn't know if the FBI was still after him...it had been five years since he had seen his friend because of the FBI and he hated them for separating him and his friends. They were stronger as a group and not being together...that worried Max. He didn't want to put anybody in danger as it wasn't fair to do that but he wanted to know if they were doing okay, what if they were caught? He hoped that they were all doing fine. He didn't want to think about what could happen and he tried not to but it just wasnt't him. He just kept driving into the night and then he parked his car in a parking lot.
He got out and looked around with his eyes. He needed to find a place to stay but before he did that he wanted to make sure he'd be safe here, for at least a while. The town seemed like a quiet town so this may be good for him. Max just hoped he was far from the FBI, he had a new identity but would that be enough? He wasn't so sure, they were smart but Max was smarter. He started walking around town with his hands in his jacket pocket wondering where he should look. There had to be a motel somewhere around here, he was hoping he would find one before morning came. It wasn't that late, probably around eight o'clock. Max felt more alone in the world than he did back in Roswell, he didn't have anybody with him and he knew his friends and his fiance were out there in the world but without them being with him he felt as if he was alone.

atheryn 'Kathy' Anne O'Connor yawned. It had been an extremely long day. She had been at Buffy’s apartment all day since she couldn’t leave during the day time and had ended up cleaning it from top to bottom only to stave off the boredom. Buffy had gone to work and even though the apartment wasn’t messy she was still bored, having slept during the night instead of during the day since Buffy had gone to bed fairly early that night. So after waking up around nine in the morning and realized that she couldn’t go back to sleep, cleaning seemed to be the best alternative. After she finished cleaning she had borrowed the computer that was there and had worked on a book that she was having trouble with. Her publisher had been hounding AJ and Anthony to get her to write another book since she hadn’t written one in a while, but she was having a lot of trouble pounding this one out. She had originally wanted to write something about vampires and humans falling in love, but that woman who wrote Twilight sort of pulled that one out right when she had started thinking about it, so that took that idea out. She couldn’t really figure out anything to write so instead she started working on a book about fairy tales coming to life and taking a young girl away to their fairy kingdom. However she was stuck right in the middle and couldn’t figure out how to get past where she was to get to the ending that she wanted. It was frustrating to say the least but she knew she would get there, she just had to write through it. That was always something that she had done since she started writing, if she had writer’s block, she just had to write through it or else she would never get back into it. Once she had written a chapter (which took her about four hours, a really long time for her) Buffy came home and she was able to leave once the sun set, though she did head home first and take a quick shower. She had thought about putting pajamas on but she didn’t want to, figuring she would probably end up stopping to grab a new book or maybe even something else before going home. She let her hair dry naturally which let her curls show through. Once her hair was situated she put on a pair of jeans, a black tank top and a hot pink North Face jacket. She knew she looked tiny in the outfit and she actually liked it. Angel had been gone for months and she was feeling pretty small in all things the past few days. Once out of the boarding house she made her way towards the town square, planning on stopping into the bookstore that was there that carried older books rather than Borders that carried the newer stuff. Unfortunately her ring fell on the ground before she could get to the bookstore and she hissed under her breath, looking everywhere and not being able to find it. This really wasn’t her day. - - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - -The man wasn't sure where he was looking to stay but something that was low key. He could afford to live in luxury but he wasn't going to go that route as he knew that could draw attention to him . Using his false identity he got himself a degree in being a doctor as h knew he could help people. He had even thought of becoming a lawyer since his father had been one so right now he was pursuing that path of a career. He was hoping that one day he would be able to settle down and actually have a stable normal life. He was hoping to have that life with Liz...if only he knew where she was. She could be across the country for all he knew maybe even out of the country just to get away from them, as long as she was safe and the others.
Max had felt so lost right now, just being here he was drawn to here for some odd reason and he didn't know why, he didn't like it either. There was just something about this place that gave him a weird feeling, not that the FBI was around or anything because he felt like he was safe from them as he was pretty far from them but he just felt like there was something in this town that he needed to find out about or maybe it was someone? He didn't think too much of it because he knew he would be thinking about it later on tonight. He just wished that he could be with Liz and he wished that his friends were here, they all deserved a normal life and maybe that normal life was finally coming, they had been running for five years wasn't all that time alone enough?
He wondered into the night and he saw a little girl, well at least he thought she was little, maybe in her preteens? He wasn't sure but it seemed like she was looking for something. Max wasn't sure if he should help or just walk by but he knew what he would do in the end, he'd help. He noticed a small object on the ground and picked it up, he looked at it and instantly frowned and looked at his own ring that was made to remember Liz. He was supposed to get married to her but it just hadn't happened yet. He walked up to the girl who seemed to still be searching for her lost item.
"Is this yours?" He asked the girl but was a bit quiet, hopefully she had heard him. He showed her the ring wondering if this was what she had lost. He wasn't going to stay long, if it was her's then he would just go on with his night, he didn't want to make too much attention to himself as he still needed to hide. Maybe he shouldn't have helped, he wasn't sure there was just so much going through his mind. At last she wasn't hurt, she looked well so he wouldn't be compelled to use his healing powers like he usually did when there was a child hurt. He just hoped the ring was her's so he could go on with his day, but he hadn't really interacted with anyone in a really long time, should he just keep it that way or actually form some type of conversation?

atheryn 'Kathy' Anne O'Connor pouted. She was not a happy girl at the moment. Okay, so it was just a ring, not even an important ring, however that didn’t matter to her. It was something that Anthony had given her a long time and she loved it. It was a ring that she and Anthony had found back in 1951 in New York when Coach was first established. They had walked by the first Coach shop and Kathy had begged Anthony to come into the store, something that he had really not wanted to do but he usually gave in when the tiny vampire gave him the puppy dog eyes. While inside the store Anthony had disappeared and after Kathy had gotten her fill looking since she hadn’t wanted to buy anything cause she didn’t want to carry it, she had found him standing at the back window. They had left and a few hours later before going to bed Anthony had handed her the ring that he bought her and told her it was to remember their friendship even when they weren’t near each other. She and Anthony were still to this day best friends but they rarely if ever lived in the same place any longer because they drew attention to one another being that he didn’t look a day over seventeen and she didn’t look a day over 11 on most days. Kathy was lucky as she had fairly good eyesight in the dark being that she was a vampire but her ring was black and that meant that it blended well. Sure it had a few specs of white on it but it was more black than white and that was something that she usually liked, but it frustrated her to the extreme at the present moment. How could she, a two hundred and fifty year old vampire not find a stupid little ring? Before she could let out a tiny sized rant she heard a soft voice coming from behind her and she quickly spun around, her silent heart jumping into her throat as she tried to calm herself down. She didn’t do well with new people however this man was currently holding her ring so she figured he had to be okay. Then again he could have been a murderer or something but from the look in his eyes she doubted it. She was for the most part a pretty good judge of character and he seemed nice, if not a little sad. She nodded, her curls bouncing as she did. She knew she looked younger than most thought originally, usually getting asked if she was seven or eight rather than her eleven years that she actually had been when turned. “Thank you.” She whispered, taking the ring out of his hand and sliding it back onto her finger. “I would have never forgiven myself if I had lost that.” She stated, her baby blue eyes sparkling in delight as she thanked him. A small part of her wanted to give this sad man a hug in thanks but that wasn’t her usual style so she stayed silent, waiting to take her cues from him. If he walked away, that was okay…but something told her that he needed someone to talk to. Word Count: 576! Tag: Max Evans! Outfit: Outfit---- Click to see Kathy’s Outfit! Note: I know! - - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - -He was still wondering why this little girl was out so late at night, Max had seen things and he had been in situations where it was extremely dangerous, he knew the world wasn't a safe place. And he didn't want her to get hurt because well no one deserved to get hurt, as long as he could remember he had always wanted to help people. It didn't seem like she needed help anymore as he gave her the ring she had lost, it had blended in with the dark but he somehow found it. He could of used his powers to make it easier but he had to pretend he was normal, a human which wasn't hard since he had been blending as one for years but still, sometimes he wished that he didn't have to hide who he was because of the people who wanted to hurt him.
Max wanted to walk away...but he couldn't he hadn't socialized with anyone for years really, and he was about to go crazy if he didn't have someone to talk to. The man wasn't outgoing at all, he was probably the shyest alien-human hybrid in the universe. But he needed someone to talk to even if it was this little girl. Max had never been a talkative person and he probably would have walked away to blend in some more but he didn't have Isabel or Michael like he did in Roswell, he could ignore people because he had them but without them and of course his other friends and fiance he was alone and it sucked to be alone and not talk to anyone, the man was pretty depressed.
When he saw the girl jump a little bit he felt bad, he didn't want to seem scary, did he come off as a scary guy? He didn't really think so but he was a lot older than her, a stranger talking to her so she had the right to be scared if she was. "You're welcome," he said with a small smile. He didn't know if he should stay and talk for a bit or just go on about his night, but then he would feel bad for leaving the girl alone in the night, he didn't want anything bad happening to her. So maybe he would just walk her home if she allowed it or just keep her company for the time being. He knew he was supposed to be blending in and not talk to anyone but he felt like he needed to break the rules tonight.
"Oh," he simply just said not sure what to say but then he decided he would try and make conversation. "Did someone important give you that?" He asked trying not to be boring or anything. He then looked at his ring and remembered when him and Liz had made him a ring to keep their love true and remember that they would be together again. "I don't want to be intrusive but how come you're walking around this late at night?" Finally forming a long sentence. He wanted to know why maybe she had somewhere to be? But who would she need to meet unless she was a troubled teen but she didn't look it and she didn't act like it well from what he saw so far. He just hoped that him asking that question was okay, he didn't want to start some trouble when he was only making conversation that apparently he was really bad at.

atheryn 'Kathy' Anne O'Connor smiled. Her smile was a tiny smile on her tiny face, one that showed that she was younger than she should be, especially with the wisdom that shown in her eyes. It was clear with the way that her eyes shown with knowledge that she was older than she looked, something that not a whole lot of people registered. Yet as Kathy stared in the eyes of the man standing in front of her, his eyes showed with the same sadness. He looked years older than his physical age and Kathy felt drawn to that for some reason. Kathy knew what it was like to be older than your years. Here she was a 250 year old vampire and yet she still had the body and personality of an eleven year old, yet she also had the knowledge and wisdom of someone much older than her years. It was a burden to bear, and one from the look of it that the man standing in front of her seemed to grasp as well. She didn’t like to see people in pain, she never had and for some reason, one that she couldn’t decipher, she knew that she needed to make him feel better. His soft voice caused her to look up and she nodded with a smile. “My best friend Anthony, a long time ago.” She told him and then motioned to the ring that sat on his finger. “That’s pretty, is it from someone special?” She asked curiously. Kathy had always been a curious person, though it was usually towards people that she knew, so it was rare for her to be curious about something or someone that she hadn’t met before. New people tended to scare her yet this man, he seemed kind, soft, and above all good. She giggled at his tripping over his words to ask her why she was out late. “I don’t bite you know.” She told him before inserting a little humor in her words. “Or pull hair for that matter.” She smiled a bright smile, her teeth gleaming as she did. “I don’t go out a lot during the day, especially when my friends try to make sure that I’m always with them.” She told him, not telling him that she didn’t have any family so her friends were all she had. Well, except for her big brother but he wasn’t home yet. “What about you, why are you out so late?” She asked, again, curiously. Word Count: 451! Tag: Max Evans! - - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - -It was strange, the man felt like he could relate to the girl from what it seemed, it seemed like she was lonely as well. Maybe she did have a family and they were the greatest to her but that didn't mean that she didn't feel lonely. Max was a perfect example, he had Isabel, Michael and his parents but he still felt alone but that stopped once he saved Liz, he had changed and he was a lot happier. He didn't feel alone anymore something he thought would never go away but it did all because of the woman he loved. He could be wrong about the little girl though, but it was just something he could sense.
Something about her made him want to stay and talk even if she was years younger than him but he didn't mind. He needed some sort of socialization, it had been five years since he had talked to anybody, sure, he has had to talk to people like going to the cashier or eating at some diner but that was about it. They weren't long conversations as they involved ordering food or giving cash. Without any of his friends or fiance he had felt more alone than he did back at Roswell. And he also felt like more of a reject because of the FBI wanting him dead or experiment on. So, he had been through hell the past few years and he just wished that he could finally live a happy life.
"Well, it looks really nice from what I can see of it," he said wondering who this Anthony was as she said it was a long time ago but a long time ago could be a year ago or something. Max instantly smiled when she asked if the ring he was wearing was from someone special. He knew that he shouldn't talk about his life and he wasn't going to but he would mention Liz just not her name as he didn't want her to be in any danger even though this girl was probably harmless, he didn't get any vibe that there could be something wrong. "Yeah, a girl I love made it for me so we remember we belong with each other," he said looking at his ring picturing Liz in his head. God, he missed her so much.
Max made a quiet chuckle, it was the first time he had actually laughed in a while. He was glad that he had someone to talk to as he needed it right now. He didn't understand why her friends wanted her there all of the time but then he figured it was for a good reason. "Maybe they want to keep you safe," he told the girl. He knew how he was with his friends and how he wanted them to be protected at all times so maybe those friends didn't want her to be in danger. There was a lot of things in the world that could harm someone so he understood. "I'm looking for a place to stay, I don't know if I'm sticking around though," he told her honestly. He was actually forming a conversation right now, it felt really good. "It seems like a good town," he said with a small smile. He didn't want to give away that he was running away from the FBI or paranoid of being taken.

atheryn 'Kathy' Anne O'Connor paused. She could see that he wasn’t really interested in the ring but more of what the ring represented. “It’s not so much the ring as it’s not really in style anymore. It’s more the fact that he went out of his way to go to this store with me even though he didn’t want to go and then disappeared on me only to give it to me later in the evening.” She told him, not noticing the fact that she seemed a little older than her normal eleven years. It would seem weird to most that she considered something ‘out of style’ since she was so young, at least physically. A smile lit up the young girl’s face as she watched a soft expression come over the man’s face when he spoke about the girl that he loved. “So why aren’t you together? You can tell just by the way that you talk about her how much you care about her. If it were me I wouldn’t let anything get in the way.” She told him matter of factly, though in all reality she was more talking to her brother than to the man in front of her. He remembered Angel talking about why he and Buffy hadn’t been together and she felt that his excuses were stupid d and that he was just acting like a coward. Of course she didn’t know this man or his situation so maybe it wasn’t the same as Angel’s…but it still annoyed her when people loved each other and weren’t together. Kathy groaned just like any other child would about her safety. “Yeah, I know that’s why they do what they do, but it’s still down right annoying. I’m two hu…eleven years old for crying out loud!” She stated, realizing that she had almost let her REAL age slip out and hoped that he hadn’t caught her slip up. She quickly changed the subject though as to avoid the awkward revelation of her age. “Why aren’t you going to stay? Do you have a job around here or are you a student? Come on, give me a little bit of something here!” She told him before her eyes widened as she realized she hadn’t said anything about herself either. “Okay, I’ll go first. I’m Kathy, Kathy O’Connor. Nice to meet you.” She told him with a big grin as she waited for him to respond in kind with his own name. Word Count: 434! Tag: Max Evans! Outfit: Outfit---- Click to see Kathy’s Outfit! - - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - -Max understood what she meant as the ring didn't mean a lot to him as it was just a rock made into a ring but it was what it represented to him, it was Liz who had made it for him and it was to show that their love would never die as long as they lived but if there was an afterlife then it would continue. He would always love Liz as she was his soul-mate there was no other girl that could come into his life, Tess had tried but even when the two did have a thing he still thought about Liz as he couldn't get her out of his head. "It seems like you have a really good friend," he said with a smile. "Is he still around?" he asked the girl curiously. He was interested in the girl's life as his life had been ruined and his friends were far away so he wanted to know about the girl's friends.
As the girl talked he looked town. It was complicated, he wanted to be with Liz but there were risks and he couldn't take those risks. Well he would but he knew that if he did then it could put her in danger and he didn't want to do that, he didn't want to be the one to end her life. "I do want to be with her," he said finally looking up at her. "But...things got complicated and now we're apart and I'm not sure where she is," he said feeling a bit sad now. He was happy to talk about the love of his love but knowing that she could be anywhere in the world and he had no clue where upset him as he wanted to be with her so badly but couldn't, if only he could find a way to find her maybe he could find Isabel and ask her to dream walk but what if he was putting her in danger then? Looked like the only thing to do was still be alone then.
Max heard something that was odd it seemed like she was going to say that she was two-hundred and eleven years old but...that couldn't be. "Wait, did you just say your two hundred years old?" He asked the girl wondering if she did and if she did what could it mean? Could she be lying or telling the truth? The man was confused to say the least. "I'm M-sorry," he said realizing he almost said his real name which he wasn't supposed to. He felt like he could trust her though but still he couldn't take the chance. "It's been a long day I'm Phil it's nice to meet you too," he said with a smile as he stuck out his hand. "And I just wanna know if this town's for me," he told the girl not wanting to get into it as he didn't want her knowing he was running away. "Have you been here long?" He asked the girl curiously.
He was wondering who she truly was as she seemed so mature for her age, but he wasn't going to judge a book by its cover. He was still wondering if he should tell her his real name, he knew it was too late to tell her now as he told her he was Phil but he was so tired of using his fake name being someone he wasn't, he was tired of running from the world, he wanted to fight it but then that would make him a criminal. He just wanted his friends and fiance back in his life but that was apparently too much to ask sadly.

atheryn 'Kathy' Anne O'Connor smiled. Her smile was sad, though fond at the same time. "I see him every once in awhile but not as often as I would like. What about you, is the girl that you got your ring from still around?" She asked curiously. She was a curious child by nature and even though she had lived for much longer than most her curiosity had stayed with her throughout it all. AJ used to joke around with her that she had gotten her curiosity from him as apparently they were related (she knew he was just joking but it was still amusing to say the least) however it had never changed. She was sad to hear that the man didn't know where the girl that he loved was. She knew that feeling. She had gone all over the world more than once searching for her brother only to find out that she had just missed him more than once. It was during her travels that she had met AJ and Anthony and Noah as well as countless others over the years, and it was because of them that she had ended up finding her older brother. Maybe this man just needed some help? She really wasn’t sure how she could help him but maybe she could? “Have you tried googling her?” She asked. “The internet has made it a lot easier to find people these days. She might have a Facebook or something along those lines!” She stated excitedly before toning it down a notch. She really needed a hobby. She groaned and smacked her forehead, pouting for emphasis. She knew that while she should run away there was something about him she could trust. "Wouldn't you like to know?" She asked with a giggle before sighing. "I am a lot older than I look and let's just leave it at that for now." She told him before staring in disbelief. He was just as bad of a liar as she was! “Okay so let’s pretend for a minute that I believe your name is Phil, though I’ll tell ya right now I don’t but I’m willing to give you the benefit of the doubt as I know that you’re doing the same with me.” She told him before continuing and shaking his hand. “I’ve been here for a few months, how long have you been here?” She asked him curiously, once again looking like the eleven year old girl she was. She liked mysteries and here was one that she knew she needed to figure out! “Well if you want to know anything about the town I’m your girl, I tend to hang out around here at night and get the lay of the land. It’s not so crowded at night.” She told him, though internally she wished more than anything she could explore during the day. If there was one thing she missed more than anything it was the ability to go outside and play in the sun. Word Count: 543! Tag: Max Evans! Outfit: Outfit---- Click to see Kathy’s Outfit! - - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - -Max just looked down at the ground when the young girl had asked him if Liz was still around...he wished that she was but of course he didn't know if there would be a risk of that and didn't know where she was. "No," he said looking up again. God, he missed her so much and not having her in his life for those five years was a really big struggle, he even looked at his contact list and would just stare at her name but then had to get a new phone just in case the FBI could track him that way...he of course put her number in his new phone but she probably didn't have the same number anymore...he kind of wanted to call to see if maybe she would pick up.
There was nothing he'd rather do than find Liz as he felt like he was depressed with not being with the love of his life. The one thing he was glad about was that he was able to talk to someone even if they were a lot younger than him, but at least she was extremely mature for her age. "She doesn't have any of that stuff, but thank you for trying to help," he said with a small sad smile. He wished that it was that easy but imagine that, Liz having a facebook the girl wouldn't do that as she knew people were looking for her even though the FBI had most likely stopped looking for the gang...well he was hoping they had stopped, if they didn't then it would seem as if another five years would go down the drain and he didn't want to run anymore.
Max just quirked an eyebrow when she said that, what did she really mean? She was a lot older than attended, well she wasn't an alien and he knew that because he could kind of sense when someone wasn't human. "Okay," he said knowing what it was like for someone to push for his secrets so he wouldn't ask her anything and respect her privacy. Max gave the girl a chuckle, she was really smart, how did she know that Phil wasn't his name? Maybe he would be able to trust her enough to tell her his real name, he just had to make sure she wouldn't run off telling people because then he would have to move and keep travelling which was something he did not look forward to as he did want to settle.
"I actually just came tonight," he told the girl honestly. He wasn't going to lie to her about that, there was no point, he was a new guy in town trying to find a place to stay. "I've noticed," he said with a little chuckle as he looked around with his eyes. It seemed really dead at night, there were lamp posts that were on and a few cars. "Do you know any good places to stay?" He asked the young girl. "The town seems...safe enough," he said cryptically but didn't really care. He wanted to stay in this town, it would be good for him to finally get back into society and talk to people if he wasn't so shy. He had hoped that there was some motel nearby so then he could check the town out some more in the day. He soon realized that he should be going and shouldn't even be talking to the girl, he had to keep his distance, he needed to keep everyone safe. "I'm sorry...I have to go," he said as he gave the girl a sad smile and walked away with his hands in his jacket pocket.
