- - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - - A slam of a car door broke the silence in which Mystic Falls cemetery was currently experiencing. It was weird to the tall man walking through said cemetery that a town with so many vampires had such a quiet cemetery in the middle of the town. Granted from what he had learned over the past few months he knew that this was because the vampires were different than the garden variety that he was used to seeing and from what he could tell from Sarah and Buffy (who he spoke with a few days previously) it was different for them as well.
He was traveling light this evening, forgoing the usual backpack and instead armed with a stake in one hand, a silver knife down in his boot and the knife that they had stolen from Ruby which would kill any demon besides her it seemed tucked into the back of his jeans. He wasn’t here for a normal hunt nor was he there to ‘patrol’ as he had learned from Sarah and Buffy that they called a hunt. No, he was there to check out a rumor about a nest of vampires. He knew Sarah would be pissed as hell that he hadn’t told her about it but she was out with some friends last he heard and he wanted her to have a good time rather than worrying about patrolling…hence him doing it.
It also didn’t hurt that he was avoiding his brother like the plague since he knew all he wanted to do was scream at him because of the whole incident with Ruby and Sarah. Yeah, he didn’t want to hear it and because of that he had been dutiful ignoring his text messages, phone calls and hadn’t been back to the hotel when he knew Dean would be there. It helped that school had been crazy for him since it was his last semester (and first technically) so he’d been lucky to avoid him.
He quickly leaned against a tree as he heard footsteps coming up behind him. He listened as he held his breath, trying to figure out if there was one person behind him or more than one. From the footsteps alone he gathered it was one person so he casually walked away from the tree, leading whoever was following him out into the middle of the cemetery. His clothing while not black did give him a little bit of cover since they were dark and he intended to use that to his advantage. Stopping where he was he didn't turn back, he simply spoke to whoever was following him. "I really don't like being stalked." He stated simply, and waited to see what they would say.

------------------ ------------------ So tonight was the night Annie was going to die. It was written in her book, in the book. She had read it, she knew it well. She studied it. Some book, named Supernatural. A young girl by the name of Anna was going to die this night. She was a strong willed women, a fighter, she was not going out without a fight. She fought hard, a nest of vampires, but they over powered her an won. So sad the book. Sam cam across her body, he was devastated to see such a young girl dead. Annie knew it was her. She felt it in her bones. She knew this night she would die. But she was going to go anyway. It was her duty, her life, her way.
This here was Annabeth's livelihood. She lived to kill Vampires. It was by far her favorite pass time. All she had to do was find a nest, infiltrate it and destroy. She even got a nifty little bomb thing from this guy she stayed with a little while back. That made attacking a nest all the more easy. Meaning she could get in, get out and maybe stop for a snack on the way. Simple. It as almost boring. The bomb killed most all the vampires with ease, only a few would escape, that's where they would be meet with Annie. Some did not fall into her trap and of course escaped. But that's was of course the nature of the game.
She hardly even messed up her outfit. A black cat suit really. No demon makeup or eyes tonight. She was stealth mode. Not like the vampires could not smell her. But she had a bit of a spell for that. A distraction really. The ones that escaped her stolen bomb, fell into her trap, and off with each and every head. She even had a new backpack, only this one was much smaller attached tightly to her back, knife handles sticking out from all ends. It was less of a backpack and more of a modified knives holder. Had it been on a counter it might look like a professional's knife collection, only these knifes were much more deadly. They were in place, even as she kicked flipped, and threw whatever she had. Though they released themselves from their place when she tugged them.
With the new evolving vampire population, she had to be prepared, which means she had to get smart. Taking a page out of her fathers book, she dipped her hand into inventing. Shoot her demon costume was not only getting old, but the supernatural creatures were starting to catch on. She had to ditch it a while, bring it back later. Now she was going for more of a cat women look. Right out of the comics, only ditch the mask and whip, and add a lot more knives. It worked. Though it did make her appear a lot older. That's what she was going for after all.
There were still a few good vampires out there. She had not counted, but if she had to guess she'd say another 3 or 4 had been able to escape the bomb, another few were clearly immune. So she hardly had much to worry about. She had a feeling she was not going to be alone much longer. No hunter could avoid a nest for very long. She just hoped she could be in and out before others showed.
That clearly was not going to happen. For there was Sam. The very man she respected yet feared for his connections. Walking around the cemetery, waiting. Waiting for something. She could only guess he was here for the same reason she was here. She forgot about the rest of the vamps. They would not be far, and they would come back. this was their home, they would want to gather whatever they could that did not burn. She'd worry about them later. For now she'd stalk the man she meet once. The man who mistook her for a demon. How cute.
She figured he was here becasue something big was going down. And she was not sure this nest was big enough for Sam and his brother. Annie kept out of their way, generally they had better things to do then hunt down vampire nests. Tonight might be different. She quickly climbed the tree, and true to her cat women inspiration, navigated after Sam up in the trees. "Your no fun." Annie said allowing herself to jump down from the tree, landing on her feet. She stood up to her full height her hands on her hips. "So we meet again?" Annie asked a small smile on her face. "Sorry I had to make such an exit last time we meet." Annie went on. "I was busy." She said with a half shrug.
Man. Annie was a little weird. She was clearly trying to pull something. What ever happened to the little girl in sweats tricking her way into situations, not just walking in. Annie was clearly, in the way she dressed, she even wore dark eye makeup, trying to make some kind of statement. No more girl in sweats with her hair up. Now she was in a pitch black cat suit her long hair down, and pin straight. Something was not right here. Or was this just part of Annie's overall plan? Whatever it was there was no fear. Not anymore. Not with Sam. It was almost like she was facing one of the vampires she was about to kill. That lust for blood in her eyes. That need to kill. Something had changed her. She was different.
Then again she not only stole a bomb from some guy who let her stay in his home for a night. But she took it apart made more, and shot a few off tonight. She had a new outfit, one she managed to make,to modify to fit her. No baggy clothing to hide the knifes she always held, now they were shown off with pride. She was clearly ready for a battle. Annie had accepted death. She welcomed it. It seemed like she knew she was going to die tonight, and she was going to go out fighting. Sam was one person she did not expect to see this night. No. This was not how it was going to happen. He should not be here. Not yet. Not now. He was to find her cold body lifeless the next morning. Not tonight. Tonight she was would fight. And fight in her own way, not the way the books said she'd die. The similarities between the girl in the book and Annie were identical, but the girl that died that night written in the books, was not Annie. Their names were similar, and they held the same personality. But they were different.
((So... I dunno if you get this. But I'm going to say Annie found the supernatural books, and picked one up a few days ago started reading it, and connected with some girl that was being written about, whom she though was her. The girl died in a cemetery -running- from vampires. Annie read it as fighting. Though it was her, figured that this night she'd die, and Sam would find her the next morning. She never though he'd be here now. So yeah. Tomorrow morning -if Sam takes her back to his hotel room and lets her sleep the night- he'd get a call about a dead girl who looks like Annie. One of the vampires that escaped, would kill the girl. Sooo Annie just mistaken herself for that girl. So IDK if that makes sense. I feel like I'm rambling so I'll shut up now. And text me my phone now has 34% left. And it's been charging FOREVER!))

- - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - - As he walked through the cemetery his mind shifted towards the past, present and future. It was a lame thing to think about and he really should have been focusing on what he was doing but for some reason he couldn’t help but remember things at really odd times lately. He knew part of it was because his soul had been restored in a strange way and due to that and then having it fixed his mind, memory and just general life had gotten a bit clouded and it had taken him longer than he cared to admit to sift through it all. Some of his earlier memories were still not as sharp as they once had been though it was becoming easier and easier for him to recall things from before he had run around soulless or with a tarnished soul.
For some reason it seemed as if there was a cloud over the memories starting when Jess had returned his soul to him and lifting when Willow had healed it. He could vividly remember what he had done while having no soul due to being pulled out of the cage though he still had no idea how he had gotten out. He hadn’t realized he had no soul until later on but his memories of that time period were vivid and crisp, almost as if he was meant to remember them. After Jess had returned his soul though the memories were cloudy…hazy. The best description would be that he was under water trying to look up and see the memories but they were distorted and he couldn’t even be sure if what he was seeing was real or if his eyes were being tricked due to the constant and ever changing patterns of the water above him. It didn’t make sense but that was how the memories looked.
He had done some research, or had tried that is, yet there was very little written about people (humans especially) having their souls returned from hell and then after they had been returned having them fixed because there were holes in them. It had taken him days to even figure out where to begin and the closest thing he could find was a restoration spell in Romanian that looked as if from what he could remember that it was similar to the spell that Willow had used to fix his soul though it wasn’t the same being that he hadn’t needed his soul returned to him as much as the holes needed to be repaired.
His thoughts were broken into quite suddenly by a noise from behind him. He had known that someone was following him however the noise wasn’t the person so much as an explosion that seemed relatively contained and yet the ground around him still shook a bit. If he had been someone else he might not have noticed it but he was trained to notice things that were odd and unexplained and while he had at one time hated the fact that he had been forced to learn things from a young age that a child should never know, he now appreciated it since it had kept him alive far longer than he would have been had he not known how to protect himself and others.
He turned around towards the sound but didn’t see anything though he knew that didn’t mean much. He did however note with amusement as Annie, the young girl he had at one time thought was a demon jumped down in a full out cat woman costume and state that he was no fun. "I'm no fun? How do you figure?" He asked casually, trying to hold in the chuckles that wanted to escape him at the young girls' outfit. “I may not be rocking out a Superman outfit or Batman for that matter but I do happen to have fun on occasion.” He told her, letting a chuckle break free but making sure to keep it contained as even from the one meeting they had he knew that she tended to take things to the extreme and he didn’t want her to run away again.
He was surprised when she apologized for leaving the last time they met, even if he didn't think she was actually sorry but he didn't let the surprise show and instead shrugged casually. "Hey, we all got places we have to be, usually at very inopportune times." He mentioned before motioning with one hand at the girl’s get up. “So should I even ask or just accept it as a part of your witty personality and just go with it?” He asked, knowing that there was a good chance she wouldn’t answer even if he had asked so he figured instead of banging his head against the proverbial brick wall he’d instead ask if she would answer and if not he wouldn’t worry about it. Or at least he’d try not to.

------------------ ------------------ Annie was just not in the best state of mind. How can you be once you've read your own death. Down to the VERY gory details. A girl named Anna, Her real name Annabeth. The description matched her's to a T. The book said there was a nest of vampires one escaped and killed the Anna girl in the early morning. Annie read it over and over, there was no way around it she fully believed she would die. She knew going into this kill it would be her last. But she could not ignore it. She could not turn her back on it. She knew she was going to die, ti was printed it was real, it was there in the book, labeled Supernatural by some guy named Carver Edlund. She only stumbled upon it.
Just days ago she was wondering around a book store checking in on a case, when someone looked over at her she picked up a random book, and it was supernatural. There she began to read just read it, might as well. She was playing the part of a teenager trying to find a book, really she as listening in on a conversation a few feet back. Well what she read was her death. That's it. She read her death. Needless to say she forgot about the mission she was on to fulfill this..... prophecy. How could you ignore it? she read a few books back, and true enough it was published before the events took place. It was all the rage in Hunter land, Sam and Dean and their adventures. She knew the timeline, it all fit. She was going to die. Once it was written it would happen, she was pretty sure of it.
So she started to prepare for the last night of her life. She knew she'd never get away with it. She could never change the future, but she could at least change what she was wearing. It was time she retired her little pink hoodie. So she made sure to leave it at home for something a little more adult. She was going to be an adult tonight. Fuck this kid shit. This was the last moments she would have on earth, she was going to live it up in a home made suit that fit her perfectly. She was going to rock her outfit, and she was going to take out as many vampires as she could. She knew one of them was going to kill her, but she was not going to think of it. Now she was just doing her job.
Needless to say, this was turning into a self fulfilling prophecy. If she'd never read that book she never would have been in this situation. She would never have done something so stupid and when the time came, about the time the book said she'd die, the next vampire that attacked her, she would clearly not try as hard, she was going to die anyway...right? She would think she was fighting as hard as she could but in the back of her mind she'd never win. She'd talk herself into being as good as dead. All for a book. It of course could go the other way. You know the whole I'm not going to die, so avoided the situation. Blah blah blah. But Annie was not about to mess with time. She has avoided death since before she was born, it was about time she kicked the can.
But what did it matter? She was dead any which way. Little did she know a little girl that looked just like her would wake up in a few hours walk through this very place to get to school on time, she'd of course never make it to school, and she'd be wearing the same pink sweater Annie also owns. Her name just happened to be close to Annabeths. That should have been Annie's first clue. She was Annabeth or she was Annie, never ever Anna. But some reason Annie could not get over this kill that she read about. Sam even said he did not want to be the one to find her dead. He was about to in less then 10 hours she'd be found dead, Sam would be called into the scene. Annie said she would NOT let him find her dead. She would not die, at least not this young. She was going to keep her word. So she went in guns a blazing. Normally she had a lot more planning to do. But she was going to die anyway, why be careful about it?
"Calling me out like that." Annie said shaking her head her hands resting on her hips. "I had a plan. I was going to surprise you. But you have to ruin everything." She said with a half shrug. The only real surprise she had would be Sam waking up to go to a crime scene where she'd be found dead. But of course he had to ruin that too. It said nothing about him being here for her death. The book was centered around Sam and Dean, if one of them got into any kind of fight that dang book would have it, one of them. It was their lives on paper. Sam was changing the future.... or rather the future was already changed. Sam was not here... he never walked through here in the book. Or did she miss it? Most of all this was a Dean part, she had to skip most of it seeing as it was hardly appropriate for her eyes.... for anyone her age eyes.... Still... she should have seen this.... He was messing it up. She was going to kick ass and go out like a freakin HERO! Well the police would surly question her outfit, and the amount of knives she had on her but whatever. There would be no trace of her in any system, it's like she was never born. She'd be just another Jane Doe, or rather Anna Doe.... she did have a key chain that said Anna....Did she bring that with her? Did she even have it still?
Annie just shrugged, tonight she was not going to let this get to her. nope. She was stronger then this. And though she normally might have lashed out at him giggling at her, or making fun of what she was wearing (After Cordelia she felt she had to defend EVERYTHING she wears), tonight she had to let it go. How would Sam feel if their last meeting she yelled at him and left, got herself killed, and there he was... No that would not be good for him. He apparently had a lot of work to do seeing as well there was a book after the one she was in. She had it stashed. She'd read it later... or she would have, turns out she ran out of time. Oh well. Still he was not going to get to her. She had to tell that to herself a few times, before she managed to smile. A half, fuck it kind of smile. But it was a smile. It was something. She was going to be zen. Tonight she'd die. So tonight she was going to be cool. Just another day.
"Your already not superposed to be here. So if you wanna ask... ask. But there's nothing you can do about it. It was already written. So..." She said ending with a gesture...as if to say, so what now... go try it... The future is written in stone, not much could change it. She learned that from her parents, who might have been a bit misguided. As Smart as her father had been, and as bad ass as her mother had been, they gave her ideals they needed her to believe no necessarily the best ones. Whatever kept her alive. And the future being set in stone unchanging was a pretty good one to have, accept your fate. Not everything deserves a fight. But dang it go out fighting. So that's what she'd do. She was accepting that she was going to die, and Sam being here was already a bad sign, which was why she had to follow him. See what mess he was going to cause, see if he was the one that might have played a part in her death... or was he to save her?
If you knew you were going to die in the next 24 hours and in your dying moments you were wearing shorts and a big old ratty pink hoodie... Yeah? That's not how she wanted to be found. As simple as that might be, typical teenage outfit. She wanted to go out with a bang. If she was going out, she was going to turn some heads when she did it. Shoot they would surly think she was some kind of call girl. Which she was not totally happy about but it made her look like a runaway at the very least. Maybe they would just let her go, not search for her face as a missing person. If she looked a little different maybe Sam would not recognize her not put her face to the name or whatever. Last time they meet she was a demon after all.... That though made her chuckle to herself a little, once again cracking a smile. Well. At least whatever was out there was allowing her to say her goodbyes to Sam. A guy she wished she could get to know more. A guy she could learn a lot from, someone she wanted to be when she got older.... or... well kind of. Still. That chance would be cut short in a few hours. So she needed to say her goodbyes, and get on her way to her death bed. Hopefully Sam could accept the future as it was written.

- - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - - He couldn't help it, he had to let out the chuckle that was threatening to burst forth through his lips. "Well you are the one dressed up as Catwoman...really what did you expect me to do?" He asked before rolling his eyes, though the smile on his face was playful. For some reason he found the girl amusing and actually enjoyed her which after their last meeting he hadn't ever seen happening. Then again after everything had sorted itself out with Sarah he had been in a lot better of a mood, and that was saying something since before hand his mood had been downright horrible…as Annie could attest to by the holy water in the face that he had given her the last time they had met.
Realistically Sam was not a dense man which meant that he knew something was up however again, after their last meeting he had realized that it did absolutely no good to try and force answers out of the young girl. She may be young but she knew what the hell she was doing which meant that she was not easy to intimidate. It was refreshing and Sam found rather than being annoyed by it like he was sure that Dean would be, he liked it and respected it. This did not mean though that he did not see what was in front of them and that was that Annie was definitely up to something. One would have to be an idiot not to see that since he doubted that most girls her age ran around in Catwoman costumes in the middle of the park…he may not know much about teenage fashion but that was one thing that he would bet a lot of money on, not that he had the money to bet but whatever.
Then again…Annie had never been from where he was standing at least classified as a normal girl. So maybe it was just her personality though something screamed at him that this was too out there even for her.
He forced his thoughts away from the costume for the moment (though it was pretty damn difficult to do so since it was just…weird…but oh well, he had done weirder things…and if he hadn’t he was going to pretend he had for the moment just to get over it) and folded his arms over his chest, looking casual though calculating as he took in the almost…afraid stance that Annie currently had. Afraid was the wrong word. She looked worried, resigned and a whole slew of other emotions that to anyone else she would be doing a damn good job at hiding them however Sam had learned a long time ago how to read people. It was one of the reasons he was such a damn good hunter. He may not have had the amount of experience that his brother and father had since he had gone away to school and his brother had never stopped being a hunter, but he could equal him on hunting because he knew how to read people.
He could tell when someone was lying for the most part, he could tell when they were hiding something and he often could easily tell what people were feeling. He at one time had thought he was empathetic due to Yellow Eyes and his disgusting blood ritual that he had done when Sam had only been six months but he had come to realize after the man had died that it was not tied to him and it was just who he was. He was a sensitive man (something that Dean constantly egged him on because of) and while sometimes it was a bit annoying, it did help in situations like this.
He quirked an eyebrow at the weird way she answered his question. “What do you mean I’m not supposed to be here?” He asked her, noting the way she seemed to be reigning in her temper. Come on, did she really think he wasn’t going to see straight through that? This girl had gone kamikaze on his ass the last time they met because she had pretended to be a demon and he had believed her! Now he had just pretty much insulted her wardrobe and laughed at her and yet she didn’t say a word back? Now he knew damn well something wasn’t right and the whole ‘not supposed to be here’ thing just added on to it. He let the smile drop from his face and instead he started listening for what was really going on. Not that he hadn’t been before but he straightened up out of his casual pose and instead moved so that while to the outsider he might still look casual, to another hunter he was clearly on the defensive.
“What’s going on Annie?” He asked firmly, though not unkindly. He didn’t know what it was about her but something protective swelled up inside him when it came to her. He could easily see himself and Dean when they were younger in her and it hit him that if they had a sister it wouldn’t at all surprise him if their sister would have been just like Annie…especially with the way they were raised. He heard something off in the distance and tensed but rolled his eyes when he saw two drunk people walking through the cemetery right towards them. He waited until they were almost upon them before growling. “Don’t you think there’s a better place for a date than the cemetery?” He asked, knowing he sounded like a dick however he got a tad annoyed when people just asked for trouble like walking through a cemetery at night.
Hey man, we just got tattoos for our 21st birthdays! Fuck off. Sam rolled his eyes again and pulled down the top of his shirt to show off his own tattoo. “Yeah dude…” He stated with a sneer. “I’ve got one too…doesn’t have anything to do with you walking in a cemetery at night. But that’s okay, you get in trouble…don’t ask for help.” He stated and waited for them to continue walking before turning to Annie and shrugging. “I don’t mind helping people but I do mind when people act like idiots and make it twice as difficult to help them.”
Word Count:: 1,108 Tag:: Annie Smith Outfit:: Click here for Sam’s Outfit Note:: Once again, SO sorry it took so long! You know my schedule though. Lol. Also I figured I would find a way to get Sam to show his tattoo sooner rather than later so two drunk people being idiots worked out well.

------------------ ------------------ "Whatever. Call it what you will. I wont be wearing it much longer anyway." She said with a half shrug and a roll of her eye, typical teenager style. It a hand full of hours she'd be dead anyway. So what did it matter, at least she was not dressed in stupid pink hoodie. At least the police would think she was doing something crazy before she died. Dead mans Blood on her knifes, dust all around her. Yeah. She was going out fighting. They might not know that, and might think she had a bad ass cat women costume. But it did not matter, at least they would to know whom she was. Rather then treating her like some stupid teenage victim. Annie was never EVER a victim. She'd make dang sure of that too.'
Any which way, Annie was being weird. She did a good job at hiding it, but the little things gave it away. Her almost paranoid way of looking around, as if she expected something to just jump out at her and end her life... which she was kind of expecting. Even if she knew she had a few hours left. Still. Someone was moving, if she was not tapping her foot, she was hitting her thighs with her fingers one by one, or fidgeting with something or other, touching the handle of a knife, checking to make sure it was easy to remove from it's place. It might just seem like normal movements, but if you looked closer, it was pretty clear Annie was freaking out on the inside. Annie did not want to die. She accepted death, and she'd welcome it. But she never thought today... now so young. She figured she'd at least make it to 15, 18 maybe. But... now? It was just... she was not ready for it.
Shoot if she was in the middle of a battle, sure she'd accept death, and she'd fight her way out. But to go out... with a simple stupid vampire bite, no sign of a battle, no nothing. Just like the book said, walking and talking, then BANG vampire bite and dead. That was that... really? That's not how she wanted to go out. That's not how she wanted to be remembered a victim. That's the only thing she wanted to chance. She wanted to go out with a bang. She knew she'd always be a Jane Doe, her fake ID's would do nothing to help the police find who she really was, not that she had any family left. But still, she wanted to be a kick ass Jane Doe, not a victim.
"Eh. It doesn't matter. What's done is done." She answered shaking her head a little. The future was already written. It was there in the pages, she could hardly change it. Death was upon her and that was that. Nothing Sam did was going to change that. The book was just so real, so accurate. Once it was written like that, she was sure it could not be changed. you might change the event but you'd die anyway, the longer you fought it the worse it was for the people around you. Shoot if your walking down the street and your destiny to get hit by a car but you manage to ninja your way out of harm, that preggo lady walking behind you is gonna get hit, and there goes two lives for your life. Only for the car to back up and run you over. If you got hit in the first place that preggo lady could have lived a nice and happy life with that child. But nope, you had to go and try to change stuff.
Annie learned long ago, you never mess with destiny. This was just one of them times. She was gonna die, and that was that. Best to get it over with, rather then prolong it and have more people die in your place. Annie just kept her mouth shut, even as Sam caught on to her little act. Nothing was gonna get her down today. It was not worth it when she was about ready to die. Nope. True to her, Annie shoved past Sam, giving him a little extra shove to move past him, as the drunk people approached. She was not about to deal with that. And she really did not want to bring death to them. They might be drunk but it was not their time....
Again, she was not going to be playing any kind of role but bad ass hero today. She had only a few moments left of her life, and she was going out with a bang. So let him laugh, he wont be laughing much longer, for he was going to find her dead sooner or later. But for right now she had some run away vampires to catch. One of them would be her death. But she was gonna give it some damage if she could, at least an arm was gonna come with her. She was not going out without a fight. At least now she had a bit of a heads up, and knew a vampire would be her death, so she of course knew to watch that pretty little neck of hers. Even if she could not prevent her death, she was gonna make dang sure whom ever killed her got what was coming to it.
Annie just rolled her eyes to herself, as she walked away. Or she was gonna walk. That was her plan, to just let him deal with Drunk one and two, so she could go run off and lead whatever was after he away from Drunkie one and two. But when she herd something about a tattoo, she had to stop and turn to look back at Sam the top of his shirt pulled down far enough, so she could see a bit of ink on his chest. Interesting. That was a very interesting tattoo, to ward off demonic possession. Very.... clever. Annie now a few feet away just raised a brow at Sam.
"Never pegged you as an inked man." Annie said. "Interesting symbol you got going on there.. smart." She said with a shrug. She was already one step ahead of him. Sure she never got herself a tattoo, no one could or would take her, but she had drawn a few symbols on her skin before. And in the theme of going out with a bang, she drew a couple on her body before she put on her car suit. Pulling up the sleeve to her suit, up to her elbow, was a smeared angel repelling symbol etched in her skin with marker. Of course it was a little hard to see, seeing as moving the cat suit kind of rubbed it off a bit, and after sweating for that little fight she had back then. It was coming off, but it was the thought that counted. She'd always wanted a tattoo, thought it would just be easy, make things easier on her, and with the anit Angel tattoo well it would get her more of an in with demons.... or other down worldly creatures. No one liked Angels... at least no one she talked to. "I tried getting this inked on once or twice... but no shop will let me without a parent or guardian. I even found some homeless man to act as my father, but shit blew up in my face when he forgot my name. So I just stick to good old fashion pen. Though it clearly does not work very well." She said with a shrug. At least she stopped walking away. ------------------

- - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - - He quirked an eyebrow, his arms still crossed over his large chest. He didn't truly realize how big he was though he knew that his brother gave him shit about it all the time. It was only times like these when he face to face with someone who was extremely small that he truly felt his height. It felt weird to him since even around Sarah he didn’t feel how large he was but around Annie he definitely did. Maybe it was because he knew now that Sarah could protect herself and while he didn’t deny that Annie was a strong little shit, he did have to say that she was still a kid no matter how much she tried to deny it.
He also didn’t understand the protectiveness that he felt for the young girl but again, he knew that if his parents would have had the chance to have another child and it would have been a girl that his sister would have been almost identical to the young girl who stood before him. Okay so if he would have a sister he doubted that she would be dressed up as Cat Woman since Dean would have ridiculed her for every and a day but eh, one could easily catch the drift.
He watched her for a moment, not saying anything, simply observing her. She was definitely acting different than she normally did. Or at least he assumed so since they had only been in contact one time and that particular meeting hadn’t gone well to say the least. He watched as she cautiously looked around the cemetery almost as if she was waiting for something that only she knew about. Not that it was a bad thing to be cautious because overconfidence got you killed but still, something wasn’t right.
He simply waited for her to respond and when she did he shook his head. “However what’s not done yet can be avoided.” He told her knowingly, remembering a similar conversation between him and Dean when Dean had given himself up to bring him back. Sure that hadn’t ended well because Dean had been sent to hell but they had fought it as much as they could and would have kept things going a little better if Lilith hadn’t had taken over Ruby’s body and let those damn hell hounds in. He didn’t want to think about that as he still sometimes woke up in the middle of the night with visions of Dean’s chest being ripped open by those damn dogs but still, the fact still remained that they had fought it and he would fight things such as that again. “Besides, what’s to say something is even done?” He asked, knowing he was confused and knowing that only by learning what the hell the young girl was talking about would he stop being confused and start figuring out a way to help. He didn’t know what was going on but he was damn sure that he wasn’t going to let anything happen to her.
Whether she liked it or not.
He chuckled at Annie's comment about him being an inked man. "I am not someone who was dying to get a tattoo or anything however after Dean and I both getting possessed by demons more than once we figured that it was something that we could do. Also when we first got to Richmond and learned about vampire compulsion we had them re-done with vervain ink so that vampires cannot compel us either.” He told her matter of factly. He knew that most people wouldn’t think of it however he wasn’t a jewelry person and it was much too easy to lose something like a necklace or a bracelet or even a watch in a fight so he and Dean had figured that having their tattoos re-done in vervain ink would be the best way to go about it.
He thought for a moment about what she said about not having a parent or guardian. He wasn't sure why the thought had occured but it could easily work. "You know I can help you out if you want." He told her. "I can pull off a lot older than I am and a trip to the local Kinko’s to doctor up a couple I.D.s would be all it took for me to be able to pass off as your father or at least older brother who had custody of you. It would also help if you wanted to enroll in school, not that you have too..." He trailed off, holding his hands up in mock surrender. "It's completely up to you but it is an option."

------------------ ------------------ "Not always. Everything that gets born dies... A hungry man needs to eat, as a sleepy man needs to sleep, and their comes a time where it's wrong, even useless to resist." Annie added with a half shrug. Words of wisdom from a little girl. Things can surly be un-done if they have yet to happen, but sometimes its better to give up and let life go on, then ti fight tooth and nail. Everyone dies, some sooner then others. Annie had hoped her life would be longer, much much longer. But if it was her time, then it was her time. She was already changing her future by talking to Sam, but running into him, by so much as seeing him. This was not at all written in that darn book, of course it was all about Dean right now. But still. She read her death, and she accepted it. She might not like it, but it was the truth. You could only stave yourself for so long before you ate or died, you could only stay awake for so long until you fell asleep or died. There were few options in this situation.
The hardest thing in this world is to live in it. (Buffy <3)
She knew this, she accepted this. She understood this. And she lived the life she was given, she lived it as best she knew how. And if she has reached the end of her days, then she reached the end of her days, no use to fight it. She's been fighting for a few years now, she's been training her whole life. Maybe now was her time put down her knifes and stop resisting. This is the work she has to do, her duty, what she's been waiting for her whole life, the final battle. As lame as it was, it was easier to die then to live. And honestly Annie could use a vacation. Sure this would be one of the permanent variety, but at least she would be dead, at least she could stop hiding from the angels that wished to kill her or the demons that wished to possess her. At least if she died she'd be back with her parents. She'd be safe.
No more having to worry about looking under her bed, or finding a place to sleep. No more stealing food, or credit cards, or house keys. No more taking he buss or taxi, no more changing her hair so often she cant remember what her natural hair color is. No more fighting. Maybe she could just rest for once, get a full nights sleep with out worrying that someone out there is being killed while she rests. No more checking for hex bags, or people lurking in the shadows. For it's not just supernatural creatures she has to worry about. She'd young and pretty, and almost always alone. Even know the humans are easy to chase off, a knife is useless in a gun fight. There is always something.
"As the saying goes: So let it be written; so let it be done." She quoted. Of course never EVER believe EVERYTHING you see or hear. But some things apply to that whole situation, and she fully believed this did as well. Everything seemed to just match up pretty well. You can't ignore a profit of the lord. It's simple as this. This profit chose to write down his visions in books and publish them. Others keep such things to themselves. But this was surly a warning. One meant for her maybe, or Sam... Maybe Dean. She hardly read the whole book. But what she did read, was exact. Still. She was being as forthcoming with information as she could. She was not about to come out and say something like, I'm 14 I don't want to die. She was too strong to admit that. She might give up, but she'd never come right out and say it. She'd put on that strong girl act for as long as it took.
"Look Sam. I know your trying to help. But just drop it. Some things you need to accept. Some things just cannot be changed. The sooner you can accept that, the sooner we can move on to more pressing matters like... your whole tattoo." She said, trying really hard to move away from that whole death subject and onto again a tattoo. She looked up to the sky real quick, not that it was going to help her tell time. But she figured she still had quite a few hours left. It was still dark, she died right before the sun came out. Shocker. A last meal for the vampire surly. So she might have a few moments to go get some ink... assuming he'd take her. As much of a waste of money getting a tattoo (moments before you died) would be.... it was surly on her must do list. Now's a good a time as any... though she wondered how that might work... if she were to go to... well no... with the tattoo she wanted, she'd be going down the escalator, not up it. No angel would let her cross them gates with an angel repellent tattoo.
"Again smart, though I must admit I've never herd of this vampire compelling thing. Anyway there is of course a flaw in that plan." Annie said with a shrug. "All one has to do is hold you down and burn it off. I don't forsee you and Dean walking around topless in your hotel room often... "Annie said, the thought did make her smile. If Sam and Dean ever stopped the whole hunting thing, they could surly make a carrier out of being an underwear model. "So...." Annie said with a half innocence smile and a shrug. She'd much rather get that somewhere much more visible... then again. The two were like fucking twins. You can't do something to one with out the other knowing. Still. A more visible place might be better? Which brings up the question.... where would she get hers? Her forearm was her best bet, easy to get to, but the closer to her heart the better chance it would work had she needed it? right? If it was over her heart that insured there was always a constant flow of blood beneath it... and she'd only have to cut the skin around there before the tattoo would be saturated in blood. Could it really work? That was more the question then anything.
"Oh... I see what your doing here....." Annie said getting rather suspicious as soon as he started going on about helping her out with the tattoo. She was 14, and he was all SURE let's get the 14 year old a tattoo... That's not something an adult said unless they had some kind of something they wanted. Like clean your room and I'll give you a freakin cookie... of course this was much much bigger then a cookie, so he'd want...... Ahh... and he said it. School. He was playing the school card. Asshole was trying to trick her into going to school. Oh she saw his plan. He was going to play it cool, all like you don't have to go. But every freaking chance he got he'd say something like, School this and School that, remember I did get you that tattoo. Trying to make her feel all guilty and what not. Oh yeah. She saw rrriiigggghhhhttt through that one! "You're just trying to get me to attend middle school aren't you?" She commented. She knew he was gonna deni that up and down. But if he did she could hold that over his head later when he talked about stupid dances. Who wanted to dance anyway? Stupid kids and dancing. She'd much rather shoot someone, or kill a beast of some kind.
"You are just playing the good guy, so you can hold this over my head later." She said crossing her arms over her chest, her little leg pointed out to the side, as she leaned back slightly, just waiting! Oh was she waiting for him to TRY and say it. Try and hold this all over her head, and she'd stab him. Don't think she wont. She'd got a good arm, she could throw it right at his leg, and he'd never see it coming. She of course would not aim to kill, only hurt long enough to prove her point. She could do what she wanted when she wanted. And just because he offered to get her a nice little tattoo, meant nothing. If they were going to do this... and she wanted to do this. She was going to have to go home and change... no matter where she got this tattoo, it would involve the removing of clothing, and as free spirited as she was, she wanted to at least be a little modest... she was still 14 after all and she was oddly shy around Sam.... normally boys don't intimidate her at all... but Sam had this... presence. He made her kind of... want to... sort of... act her age? ish? Maybe?

- - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - - He quirked an eyebrow at her words of wisdom and he couldn't help but smile fondly. He reminded him of himself a little bit. He remembered getting snippy with people older than him because while he might have not had the most basic of things when he was a kid, he had learned a hell of a lot. He had always been a smart kid, which told by his early acceptance to Stanford. It didn't hurt that his father and brother were always off hunting...well...his father was and his brother was off hanging out with some random girls for the most part which left Sam on his own with his only companions as books to which he took to like a fish to water.
With this being said he had often got frustrated with people who thought they knew better than him and he remembered more than once getting sent to the principal’s office for being mouthy to a teacher since there were many times that he knew what he was talking about better than whatever teacher at the time was teaching. He remembered a case in particular when he had corrected a history teacher and had gotten suspended because of it. Not that it mattered with how often his father uprooted them but still, it had been a big annoyance.
He shook his head and waited until she spoke again, giving another quote about letting it be written and letting it be done. He didn't believe in that shit and he'd tell her that too however it seemed as if she still had some stuff to get off her chest which meant he stayed silent until she did. When she finally did he shook his head. "Look, I know you don't know me well, but I'll give you a little insight to me. I'm a stubborn son of a bitch...it's a flaw in my genetic makeup. With that being said I don't accept things until I'm slapped in the face with them if I can help it. So I'm not going to accept not knowing but I will stop bugging you about it until you decide you want to tell me. Deal?" He asked, though he knew she wouldn’t like it she would have to deal with it. He wasn’t one to push his thoughts on other people (unless it was his brother and that was just brotherly love right there) so he would stay quiet but that didn’t mean he would accept it.
Something was up and he would figure out what it was whether or not the young girl told him. He was a smart man plus he was nosy as hell and those two personality traits often found him in situations that he didn’t want to be in but they also allowed him to see things that a lot of others wouldn’t. He really hoped this was one of the times that he would see something before he got involved since he really didn’t need to be on Dean’s shit list even more than he already was because of the whole Ruby thing. Not that it would stop him but it would make it to where he had to listen to Dean bitch even longer.
He couldn't help it. Loud chuckles left his mouth when she mentioned walking around topless in their hotel room. "Not if I can help it. Neither of us show off much but that has to do with more often than not once of us has got bullet wounds or the equivalent. I can't even tell you the last time I went to the pool so that should tell you something right there." He stated, calming down after a few moments of laughter. It felt good to laugh, this girl was a riot even though he doubted she meant to be. She seemed to have a very dry sense of humor however Sam found that he related to it and he liked it. He liked her and he again felt a surge of protectiveness within him. He knew that Dean had joked with him about getting soft since Sarah had come back into his life but he briefly wondered if that was the case before pushing it aside. He wouldn’t worry about it.
He shook his head. "No, I'm not actually. For one thing you'd be in high school now however if I were you I wouldn't want to go to high school either. I remember it and I much preferred college. Trust me when I say, you couldn't catch me at a school dance and while Dean would be more likely to go it'd be because he wanted to find someone to make out with. So no Annie, I'm not trying to make you go to school. I said if YOU wanted to I could help. But I could also help you grab a tattoo and sign for it if that's all you want." He told her, honestly shown through his eyes as he did so.

------------------ ------------------ Annie shrugged her shoulders to his deal. "I guessss...." She said in a reluctant way. At least it would get them over this whatever it was they were in. It would end this conversation and allow them to move on. That's all she really wanted. Dead was dead no matter how you look at it, and she was far from ready to be dead dead. So the less she had to think about it the better. Anyway, getting a Tattoo was much more exciting then trying to get a Winchester to accept their fate, seeing as they change theirs often.
Still. If he was going to drop it then she would as well. Annie would rather sit and plan ahead then wait until thinks hit her in the face. She'd rather do what she could now, and accept what was to come later. She understood that Sam would fight the whole way down, and even then he'd never stop fighting. But Annie was different. She as going to fight, but once she was taken it was done. Once she was greeted with death, it was her way out, she'd take it. She'd be done. Things would just be easier if she could just stop. She'd at least get to see her parents again. And wherever she was going to go, at least then she could just rest. The running, the fighting, the hunger, the pain, everything would just stop and honestly that's the thing Annie wanted most. To just stop.
To walk on the beach alone at night and not fear her life. That would never ever ever happen on earth. No matter where she went someone would always be lurking around the corner. No place was truly safe. Not when your in your physical body at least. Once she goes to heaven, assuming that's where she'd go, she could relax. And if she were to go to hell, well she'd just stop, and let whatever get her over and over, the demons would surly get annoyed with her after the third of fourth time she let them get her without a fight. It would just be so easy.
"It tells me enough." She added a smile right along with his. Thought she shook her head, trying to picture Sam and Dean going swimming. Honestly. There they with their little swim trunks, their bodies littered with all kinds of scars, surly similar to the ones she has, only they surly had more. Hers healed a lot better then theirs, perks of being a kid and still growing. But still, dean would surly be that weird kid with his noes all white with suntan lotion. Yet of course there would be a gun strapped to Deans side, and a computer on Sam's hip. Just all geared up. It was pretty funny to just try to picture it. And in that moment she promised herself she'd get those boys... or at the very least Sam... Dean was still on her shit list. But she'd get Sam in his little swim trunks and take him to her little lake or something, just to see him all ready for the pool, hunter style.
Still Annie was skeptical. "I dunno what your up to... or where this catch is.... But I'd like to cross some things off my bucket list." Annie said still looking at him, like she was trying to see a lie etched into his forehead. But she saw none. Still. This was a little fishy. "I'm 14 you know. Still a baby." She added, hoping maybe that would just get a reaction or something.... anything. She knew he knew she was 14, but saying it was different. She normally lied about her age. But she just felt there was something up.. some catch some something he might want. If the school thing was not it... then what... really what. There had to be something.
"You'd hate the tattoo I want anyway. Aren't you all in with the angels?" she asked, a little more snippy. Clearly she had a beef with angels. "Like Totese BFF!" She added in her teenage vally girl voice. She often did that more or less to make a point. "But really... " She added fixing her hair into a tighter pointy tail. "The tattoo I'd want, would surly keep your friends away." She added again a little snippy. Her little vendetta with the angels whom killed her parents, for the greater good of man kind, who tried to kill her, all for what? Because she was a vessel for Lilith. Whom has yet to possess her, who word on the street is has been killed. And here she was just dandy. Yet they still chase after her for one reason or another looking for her, still trying to kill her she assumed.
The only reason she was not freaking out about them now, was Sam was more a demon person. Dean was the angel guy. She saw Dean and she'd run. She'd not stay to talk she'd be out of there. Sure Dean was close, he always was close to Sam. But she'd be alright. Dean was doing his thing, and and Angel would not think to look for her with Dean around. So she was alright. So long as she was not talking with Dean when an Angel showed up she'd be alright. So best keep her distance with him. Sam was so far alright.

- - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - - He could see her thinking and he allowed her to do so, not interrupting her thought process. He knew what it was like to fear things that you really had no way of expressing. Being a child knowing about the grown up shit in the world sucked...and no he was not calling her a child. It was more he could sympathize. He easily remembered how often he had wanted to hide under the bed as a kid and pretend that the world was a safe place. Today was even worse because not only did one have to worry about monsters and such...but there were humans out there that were worse than monsters and vampires.
He smirked at her statement about what he was up to however a loud laugh broke free when she stated that she was only fourteen and a baby. "You can't have it both ways there kiddo." He stated, emphasizing the word to get a rise out of her however the smile that was on his lips and the teasing light in his eyes clearly showed that he wasn't actually calling her a kid. "Can't be a kid one moment and an adult the next. It sucks and there are days that I wish I could still get away with being a kid but unfortunately once your grown up your grown up."
He remembered days when he had pretended to be an adult, killing things like they were nothing, but then as soon as his dad wanted him to take responsibility for something he had played the kid card. He every once in awhile got away with it with Dean since his older brother had been more of a father to him than his actual father and Dean hadn’t wanted him to grow up too fast however after awhile he realized he couldn’t have his cake and eat it too so he had to learn the hard way…he didn’t want that for Annie.
Again he didn't know where the protectiveness for this girl came from but he knew that he would be talking to Sarah about it later and seeing what she thought about Annie staying with her. He'd offer to let her stay with him and Dean however from the comments she had made about Dean and angels he doubted she would be okay with that. He'd make the offer but he had a feeling her response was going to be quite colorful.
He quirked an eyebrow at her when she mentioned him being all pro angels. "Clearly you haven't learned enough about me. I used to have faith and all that shit but angels aren't exactly my favorite people these days either. Nor am I there favorite person." He told her honestly. "Didn't ya know that I'm the devil incarnate?" He asked jokingly, though there was an underlying in his tone that said not to ask what he meant. He didn’t want to tell her about Lucifer and how he had possessed Sam after he had said yes and how his and Dean’s plan hadn’t worked. How he had been in the cage with Michael and Lucifer nor any of the other stuff. He wouldn’t give her nightmares like he experienced…that wasn’t fair to her.
"Hey I'm all for getting a tattoo to keep angels away." He told her with a smirk, knowing Castiel and Dean would be pissed but he himself found it highly amusing. “So do you want me to go with you to get one or not? You said you had a bucket list? Well I do too and one of them is getting another tattoo that’s not matching my brother’s so I need to cross that off my list.” He told her with a wink. “You up for it?”

------------------ ------------------ It's just... not even fair really. There was no place to hide, none. Her parents would always tell her to fight or flee, never hide, for wherever you were they would find you, whatever they were. She always herd other kids talk about hiding under a blanket being one of the safest places in the world, but she never could even think to hide under a blanket in plan sight. It would really just make you look silly if anything. But even worse then that the whole hiding under a bed, or in a closet thing. Clearly they had no idea the kinds of monsters who lived under your bed and stole your dreams, or the ones lurking in your closet waiting to take you away. That was the first place she'd look for a demon, why would she try and hide there? It was like trying to hide in a crypt and not expect to see a blood thirsty vampire breathing down your back.... or well they don't really... totally breath the same way... but. The point stood. Where could you hide? In the tunnels? Nope, you'd get eaten real quick down there. Anywhere in your house? Nope, demons are lurking. Out in the open, well... so long as you run faster then the rest of the herd you'd be alright... but what good would that do? Where would it get you besides plagued with a pile of guilt.
So that was her life. Forever looking for a place to hide, but coming up with nothing. So she fights her way every night to a safe place she can stay for a while. It of course becomes compromised and she'll have to fight her way to a new safe house for the time. That's not much of a life. But it was her life, and she was going to enjoy it. Even if something as simple as walking down the park path in the middle of the day made her sad, and walking anywhere alone at night freaked her out. But at least she got to kill things, and save lives, in a very none glamorous way. Shoot you try getting a hotel room or find a place to wash off when your covered in thick black goop. It's no fun. Any people ask such awkward questions.
"Whatever!" Annie said rolling her eyes. He was missing the point, and true to Annie's nature she was not gonna point it out to him. He very well could have gotten it, but was giving her a hard time, which was more then likely. But still. Whatever was how she'd answer. She was an adult in her eyes, society not so much. And of course she wanted a tattoo but that was far from illegal. Of course half the shit she did was as well. But still. She was almost trying to see if he'd back out after learning her real age. After learning a bit about her. A tattoo was great and all, but a 14 year old getting a tattoo... really? Well at least it was not a stupid butterfly. But still, he clearly was not about to back out. That at the very least made her super happy. But still... what was wrong with him. Taking a little girl (as society would say) to get a angel repealing tattoo.. honestly.
But still she knew she was a child. She was only 14 hardly lived! But at the same time she was forced to grow up. She was never a child, ever. And she never really would be, so she got a free pass really. Yes she was a child, and she was learning and growing everyday, but she was more responsible then most adults out there, so again free pass. She still was not denying that she was a kid, at least not right now, but she wanted to be treated like an adult. Yet that kid card would come out often if she was trying to find an alternative motive or if she just did not want to do something. It was very situational. But she was a kid that was the bottom line, even know mentally she had to be in her mid twenty, maybe a bit younger. She was almost reckless like a teenager. But she was still figuring things out, it's not like she had anyone to look up to or even a teacher. She was totally on her own, learning from her self and her mistakes, and of course what learned from her parents. But that still might not be enough.
Annie just shrugged at his comment about the devil. "Yeah? Well Lilith is my better half." Annie blurted out, not really knowing she did so. But she kind well did. She had no idea why she did so, it's not like that was anywhere near his Lucifer deal. Shit... she had a minor little pain in the ass trying to eat her up, and Sam had the very creator of hell, the top dawg, the big man up his butt... which would likely mean Dean was butt buddies with the Angels because of his connection with well... Michael. Or from what she knew, it sounded about right. Why they were so protective of each other, trying to fight on the same side when they had been... were destined to be sworn enemy's? Oh the Irony! But still, her little problem was just that a tinny little itty bitty speck. She had a minor pain in the ass on her butt, Sam had the big guy below trying to cage Sam all nice and neat. That kind put things in perspective... and she was not sure she liked it.
Annie was a bit surprised by his statement. She still did not get why he was alright with this. So he did not have the best tract record with Angels.... but his brother was for all intent purposes was one.... kinda. He had enough of them at his beck and call at least. So by letting Annie get this tattoo, well.... in theory she'd have to draw some blood, and getting it over her heart, where a ton of blood was always flowing, well she'd have to get a small cut and then put her hand right on her chest and bye bye Dean and his little friends... or well Dean would still be there, but he was gonna be all pissy. Sam was totally okay with this? Yeah... this was what confused her. Sam and Dean were legit attached at the hip, and by doing this, it was almost like a direct betrayal of Dean... sooo....this was weird.
"Duh!" Annie said with a crook of her neck, her arms crossing over her chest. She did a half skip, half jump to turn around to head off more towards the road, and further from the miles of tombstones. "Oh." Annie said as she stopped mid step, she let herself turn partly back to look at Sam, her feet still in place, her body just turned. She reached up pulling her pointy tail holder from her hair. "Your paying." She added as her hair swung down her back, before she continued her little half skip taking her further from Sam. She hardly had any money to eat, and where she could steal peoples credit cards, a lot of store owners questioned her use of a card. So she had to be careful, so she had to have cash, that was really the only way, and some stupid homeless guy acting as a parent, to get her the big ticket items, like buss tickets. Not like anyone even a drunk would let her get a gun, which was why she was so crazy good with a knife, and a bow and arrow, but that was so weird to carry around. So she'd stick with her easy to hide knifes. Though they were no so easy to hide tonight, it was like a wheel of death on her back. That would need to go if they were going to a much more public place, and that was going to be a bit of a fight. Annie never left without a couple knifes attached to her body. At least today with her little cat suit, it would be impossible to hide a knife really. But Annie just could not give that up. A knife was always in her hand, or within reach of her hand. Shoot she pretty much slept with her hand clutching the knife under her pillow.

- - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - - He wasn’t an idiot though he had a feeling that she thought he was. He could see what she was trying to do, testing him as it were. He knew that she was testing him for the sheer fact of she didn’t trust anyone, which was one of the reasons he wasn’t going to back down. He wanted her to trust him because he was a trustworthy person. He had always been the one that most would say that they could depend on as once he started something he didn’t stop until it was finished. He had saved more than a few lives this way and while he didn’t know of course that Annie’s life was in danger he wasn’t an idiot to think a young girl hunting was an accident waiting to happen.
Not that he would ever tell her that since he could easily tell from their first meeting how she felt about people thinking of her as a child hence the reason he was trying to appear aloof about the whole thing. Did he think a normal fourteen year old girl should get a tattoo? No, of course not. However Annie was not a normal fourteen year old girl. She was raised in the life just like he was and if he could do something to give her a little bit more protection he would do so. He briefly wondered if she would be interested in getting a pentagram tattooed within the angel repelling tattoo as it would keep her from demon possession as well but he kept that thought to himself, not wanting to seem overbearing.
He quirked an eyebrow at her comment about Lilith being her better half. "Do I even want to know what that means?" He asked her, not really understanding what exactly she knew about Lilith though it wouldn't take much to learn about the she-bitch that he was more than glad was dead. Lilith had been the center of conversation in the hunter community for over two years thanks to him and his brother so it didn't surprise him that she knew of her...but what did she mean by Lilith being her better half. He wouldn’t beg her for answers nor would he pry them out of her…at least until she was under the tattoo gun where she couldn’t run away from him if she wanted to without looking all jacked up with ink down her back, or wherever she was getting the tattoo at. However he would do research later on that particular subject if he didn’t get the answers from her.
He snickered when she for the first time since she had met her actually acted her age and did a little hop skip and a jump before throwing out that he was paying. This didn’t concern him since he wouldn’t have let her pay anyway. Besides he knew he’d get a discount since they were both getting tattoos. He wasn’t sure what he was getting yet but he knew he wanted something that was his and his alone. “I think our first stop needs to be someplace for you to change. And then we gotta run over to Kinkos before they close so I can get an I.D. and so can you. That way we have the same last name. And as much fun as I am having with you in your costume we are going to draw a lot of unnecessary attention to ourselves if your decked out like it’s Halloween and yet it’s nowhere near time for Halloween yet.” He told her with a teasing smile.
“Any thoughts on what you want your last name to be?” He asked her as they headed towards the Town Square. It was dark yet not crazy late which means most of the stores were open and as were the public bathrooms. He normally would have gone and done this while Annie changed but he’d need to take a picture of her once she was in normal clothes so he could use that for her I.D. picture. Yes, he and Dean had done this more than a few times and he knew how to get things done in a timely manner. “I want to get a new tattoo but don’t know what I want to get…any suggestions and if you say a butterfly all bets are off.” He told her with a wink.

------------------ ------------------ The whole demon possession thing to Annie was almost.... fascinating. Would she get it as a tattoo maybe. Maybe if he asked real nice she would, so long as he made it seem like it was her idea, then yeah. But still the whole maybe being taken for the dark side was interesting to her. She was born for evil, her body was made to house a very powerful and very evil demon. Did she try to stop it... well yes. But it was all still very much apart of her life. So getting that as a tattoo and closing that door forever would be hard. Annie always saw herself as a neutral-evil kind of deal. She did things for herself, and herself only. Yes what she did was totally selfless, but really it was for herself in a way.
She hunted for something to do, really she hunted because she could never, knowing what she knew, fit into normal society. She could never just go to school and live a normal life, if she was forced to there would be fights and lots and lots of trouble. She really did this as an activity, of course to make herself look better she'd say it was to save lives and to help other people and to keep other girls from being raised in the life. The more shit she can kill on her own, the less hunters were needed, and the less kids had this life. Which was the real reason she hunter, honestly who knew, it's all she really knew. But none the less she'd never fit into society, so she is outcast forced to live her own life with no rules. Which is not really a bad thing, but it's hardly a good thing. Any which way... getting a tattoo that would prevent a demon from entering her body.... would be hard. She was always just waiting for it to happen, waiting for someone to jump in her little body, which she kept nice and warm for Lilith. Did she want it, no not really. But it was her destiny according to the angels... So.
"Ugh.... " Annie said shifting her eyes back and forth for a moment, as if seeing who was around. "No.... No I don't think ya do." She answered with a half smile and a shrug. It was not a story she needed to tell, nor did he need to know. She was dead after all.... Sam and his brother had killed her, so its no longer a threat, not a valid point. It never happened, and now it never could. So what was the point in talking about it. She was just a walking meat suit right? Not like it mattered Lilith would never take over her body. So it's really just a mute point now.
"So long as your buying, I'll play nice." Annie said with a half smile. Sure why not. She'd change and be a good little sister or whatever it was. Free anything, sure she'd take it, she loved free. So if he wanted her to change, then she'd change.... she had to find herself some clothing first... Now where did she stash all her crap? that was the question. And for an ID thing, well it was about time she got one. She had fake high school and college ID's but nothing like a permit or anything like that. So that could always be useful.
"Clearly it's gotta be something like Smith.... Something lame that I can use over again. " She said with a shrug really not giving two fucks what her last name was. She adopted the last name of whatever person was acting like her parent at the time. So she had gone thought many last names, and she did not care much for any of them. She liked her last name Smith. Now was it her real last name, she'd never know. It's what her parents said their last names were. She never found out her mothers maiden name. Which was strange. And Smith... for a hunter? really? Well whatever her real last name was, it did not matter anymore. She did not exist. s far as the state and country are concerned, her parents never had a child. She just does not exists... at all. So she can be whom ever she wants to be.
"And get whatever you want. If it were me I'd get a knife. One with a long handle, sharp edge, old school blade." Annie said thinking on the knife she'd get tattooed if she were to get another one. Which she really was not planning on getting. It really killed her whole persona of being a school girl. So.... But still Annie will always and forever have a special place in her heart for knifes, and if he were to get himself a tattoo all his own, it should be personal, something he might like.... Maybe his schools name? Or Mascot. Maybe a book, or a quote he fines inspirational, or whatever. Maybe something with his father, that might help, hie mother also? Death dates... or coordinates to a super special place? The options were endless for Sam. If she knew him better she might suggest one of these, but she knew little about Sam. At least what she knew was common knowledge. ------------------

- - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - - He could see how hard she was thinking but didn’t interrupt. He knew what it was like to constantly be deep in thought and how it annoying it was when someone constantly broke into said thoughts. Dean had a love for annoying the hell out of him and breaking into his personal thoughts. Whether it was slapping him on the head, yelling his ear or just making a nuisance of himself it didn’t matter. There were times that Sam wondered if his older brother was truly the younger Winchester but then there were times that Dean was so overly protective of him that he knew that his big brother was truly that.
He chuckled at the comment about free. He completely understood the concept of free and while he hated the way that Dean had learned how to make a living over the years he had also learned how to do the same thing. However over the past few years the two of them had also gotten legit jobs every once in a while and Sam was damn good about saving his money. It also helped that he was a good investor and while Dean didn’t know it, Sam did have a bit of money put away. He wasn’t rich by any stretch of the imagination but he wasn’t going to go hungry either.
He was grateful for this little bit of money and the money he still had in stocks now that he was with Sarah. He was also grateful that he qualified for scholarships for school which meant he didn’t have to worry about paying for anything including books. Coming from Stanford helped him more than he liked to admit but he guessed in all respects it was a good thing since Virginia University was highly happy to have a Stanford graduate come to their school. He didn’t really understand why one school was better than the next but you know, whatever worked he guessed.
"Of course I'm paying." He told her but a small pang hit his heart. He knew that she didn't have much and he would do whatever he could to lessen her burden. She was 14 for god’s sake. Even though his childhood had been hell at least he had a father and older brother looking out for him at 14. She didn’t have anyone…at least she hadn’t until he met her. Now she had him whether she liked it or not. Which he was pretty damn sure she didn’t want him looking out for her however she didn’t have a choice in the matter. Not that he’d let her know that of course but still, oh well.
“Smith?” He asked with a groan. “Come on, we can be more original than that. At least use Johnson or Anderson or something. Smith is just…Smith! Everyone uses that!” He cried out dramatically, laughing to himself since he was sure he was annoying her. He didn’t know what it was about her but he liked messing with her, though he knew he had to tone it down a bit since he didn’t want to piss her off too badly and have her bolt again.
He shrugged at the idea of a knife. He had thought about it but he wanted something more him and less the hunter. He had the hunter tattoo, which was his anti-possession one. However being a hunter was only part of who Sam really was. He loved to learn, though he wouldn’t be caught dead getting a tattoo of a book or something stupid like that. “I thought about getting coordinates for my hometown but I don’t know if that’s stupid or if anyone would even really understand it. Not that it matters since you know, only person who will know about it is you and my girlfriend but who knows.” He stated, letting her lead the way since she was the one who knew where her other clothing was.
