"I was more worried about my friends hurting me." Oz stated rather truthfully. Though he did worry about hurting Willow, or Xander, or even Giles, he knew Buffy would rip him to shreds if he did. And plus they were all capable, Willow with her magic, Giles with his knowledge and Xander with his.... Well Willow and Giles were capable none the less. Plus they had the tranquilizer gun that they used on him a handful of times. He always knew when they had to use it too, cause he would wake up with a massive headache, instead of just a bad one.

So yeah, he worried about hurting them, but at the end of the day, he knew they could take care of themselves just fine. Plus, if not for them, then maybe Oz would of killed or hurt more people. They kept him from doing really bad stuff. He wouldn't of been able to survive without them, as the guilt would of been to much for him to handle. "Yeah, my friend Buffy hunts..." Oz stated to her. He knew that wouldn't be comforting to her so he added quickly. "...she won't hunt you when I vouch for you." Oz told Jade hoping it would ease her mind.

"I wasn't willing to let anyone close." Oz told Jade when she said that she had a hard time believing that he didn't have many girlfriends. His only serious girlfriend was Willow, and they got together before he turned into a werewolf. "I was afraid I would hurt them." Oz told her, leaving out the part that he once tried to make Willow into a midnight snack. Though when he said the word hurt he meant more emotionally then, you know the normal way of biting and killing someone. He knew he hurt Willow, and that is why she moved on to Tara.

When she leaned in and kissed him on the cheek. Oz felt like the luckiest guy in the world to have Jade kiss him on the cheek. He guessed he was being very sweet to her. Oz was glad that Jade liked him, he would hate it if the first girl since Willow that he decided to express his feelings to, decided to reject him. Oz just smiled in response, not knowing what to say or do back. Oz nodded to Jade when she asked him if Sunnydale was the town that blew up. "Yeah." He said sadly, he wondered who wasn't so lucky to make it out alive. Oz was in Tibet when it happened, so he didn't feel lucky. All he thought was there might have been something he could do to help, though that was probably not the case.

Jade wondered why is friends would hurt him and how they even could? Being in wolf form you are not exactly that easy to take down, as a matter of fact they have strengths that others only dream about. Plus the speed that they have is just remarkable. So it made her wonder what kind of friends that he had, in less he meant in the emotional kind of way. “Can I ask why your friends would want to hurt you? Or better yet how?” She asked with a giggle. “I really don’t think they could have hurt you.” By the way he was talking it seemed that his friend was a hunter, but still hunters were no match for them. So it still didn’t make since in less this girl had superhuman strength, which she didn’t have in less she was one of them. “Well thanks but I don’t think she can hurt me, I have ran from a hunter before and trust me it was not pretty. I mean I didn’t hurt him but lets just say he didn’t get what he wanted.” She said with a smile. “But I do think its sweet that you want to keep me safe.”

It made Jade sad to hear that he was sacred to let anyone close to him, she understood that feeling better then anyone could. She didn’t want her friends near her, family, or even the boy that she had the biggest crush on. That night after the dance she never went near him again, she was to sacred that she might hurt him, or even worse turn on there date. Not that she would she was pretty good about keeping up with the moon faze after while, but with her luck she would get so deep into a boy she wouldn’t remember. Which was something that she wasn’t going to let happen at any cost. “I know just what you mean, since what I have become I have not let anyone close. I couldn’t take a chance of hurting them. You are the first person really that I have opened up to” She told him. Jade was trying to let Oz know he was the first guy that she really had became close with, which she hope to him meant something.

She could tell by his face he liked the small kiss that she had placed on his cheek, she liked how shy he was it made her feel a lot more comfortable talking to him seeing that she was shy to. She could tell there was a lot beneath his skin that meets the eye, which was why she wanted so much to get to know him more. “Wow there is a lot about you isn’t there, there isn’t many that made it from that town alive. So that means you being alive was for a reason, to meet me.” She said with a smile. “Which is why you and I are going over to the food fender over there taking a seat and talking. I want to know more about you, I really like you Oz.” She waited to see what she would say.

"They had experience with fighting vampires." Oz told her. There was one thing he always remembered, and that was that he shouldn't go around blabbing about the slayer. This whole conversation would make a lot more sense to Jade if Oz could just tell her. But he couldn't, he would have to ask Buffy first, and even then she may say no, she may say to not tell her. Oz didn't yet know how much things have changed for Buffy, if they were allowed to tell others about her being a slayer or not, and until he found out for sure, he would keep it a secret.

Its not that he didn't want to trust Jade with it, he just didn't want to betray his friends over it. He made a note to ask Buffy about it later and if she gives him the ok to fill in Jade completely. He could tell that Jade would never hurt anyone, and Buffy did seem a lot more understanding lately then she did back in high school about not all monsters being... monsters. Oz nodded. "I just don't want anything bad to happen to you cause you know me." He told her when she said it was sweet that he wanted to make sure she was safe.

Oz listened to her tell him that she was afraid too, to let people in. After Oz nearly killed someone because he couldn't control his emotions and couldn't stop from turning, he always kept people at arms length. Even then it wasn't about hurting people so much as it was about protecting himself. Oz was captured at one point and tortured, and that still haunted him to this day. Then she said that he was the first person she opened up to. That made Oz feel really special, as he wondered why him? Other then the fact that he was also a werewolf that is.

"Thanks, that means a lot to me." He told her with a smile. Oz didn't know why but it did. Most of the girls he met he kept away from him, cause he was afraid he was gonna hurt them. Well he didn't have to fear hurting Jade, because he really couldn't as she was like him. "I have been told that before." Oz replied to Jade when she told him that there was more to him then meets the eye. Then she told him she wanted to go over to the vendor, get some food and sit down and talk and get to know him better. This seemed like a good idea to Oz.

"It that a request or a demand?" Oz asked her. Maybe he was never the most smooth of people, but he had some game. That was certain. "Either way, I would love to." Oz told Jade truthfully. She was different from Willow, well the Willow he dated anyways. Willow would never make the first move on him like that, and she would never take charge like that either. That is why Oz was liking Jade right now.

Vampires Jade had no idea that they were really around, she had read all kind of things about them on line and in books but never actually seen one. She had no idea they were in fact real, but it made since seeing that werewolves were real. It made her wonder what else was out there as well. “Oh I see so you were worried they would take you on thinking you were a monster, that makes sense. I would be to sacred to tell them as well.” She told him. “But I’m guessing when they realized you couldn’t help it they helped you huh?”

Oz was such a sweet caring person who cared about others other then himself, there weren’t many people around anymore that were like that. Oz was one of the special ones that was still around, and Jade was lucky to have met him. “Well that is so sweet that you want nothing bad happing to me, most people would care or give me the time of day. But not you Oz, oh What took me so long to have meet you anyway?” She asked him with a smile.

Jade could see them becoming close friends, and maybe just maybe something more. Well she hoped so anyway, she really liked him a lot and felt that they could share a lot with each other. She could be the girl that he needed in his life and be there whenever he needed someone, kill all that loneliness and sadness that he may feel.

She really hoped that he would say yes, she wanted so much to talk to him. There was so much more about him she wanted to know, plus she wasn’t ready for him to go just yet. She like him felt safe when he was near like she didn’t need to worry with him there, for once she had someone there for her and she wasn’t all that she had. “It a request and a demand.” She told him with a smile. “But no I really like to hang with you a bit more if that’s ok. I mean you are just such a cool person and I want to know more, we can talk about your bad even.” He said he would love to and a big smile came upon her face. Taking his hand walking to the food vender. “Tell you what I will buy my treat, how you feel about Pizza?” She asked him.

"Yeah, I don't think I would of made it without them." Oz told her truthfully. His friends did a lot for him, more then they ever cared to admit. He tried thanking them once, and they brushed it off, pretending like it didn't matter. But it did. Oz didn't like to think about stuff like this as he knows that he would of been killed or would have done something so horrible he would of wished he was dead a long time ago. If not for Buffy, Oz would of killed Willow at one point, not on purpose of course, he didn't know what he was doing, and that's a scary thought for him.

"Its easy to care about you, I think your great." Oz said in reply, though Oz cared deeply about a lot of people, he just didn't show it very often. It was just how he was and his friends knew he was like that and didn't question him, though one time Willow asked why he seemed like he didn't care, and that broke his heart as it was the furthest thing from the truth. He cared a lot, and he showed her how much he cared that night. "I dunno." Oz said truthfully. He was feeling the same way, why did he have to wait so long to meet her? She was the first person he wasn't afraid to let in.

It felt really good when Jade grabbed his hand, maybe it was the years of loneliness talking, but he wanted her to hold his hand forever. But they weren't there yet. They would have to take things slow and get to know each other. He followed her to the food court, letting her hold his hand. "I think your really cool too." Oz replied. He was glad he came here today. He almost skipped it cause he thought he would be to rusty to perform, but now he met a girl, and though it wasn't serious yet, he liked her, and he felt confident that he was gonna get the band spot. Win-Win.

"I love pizza." Oz told her, but really who didn't love pizza? Oz nodded. "I will buy desert. How does ice cream sound?" Oz asked with a smile. Oz was a gentleman and if Jade wanted to buy lunch then he was gonna treat her desert. It was only fair in his mind. He sat down at the table and realized he was still holding her hand. Which Oz didn't mind really, he would gladly let go once Jade indicated that she wanted him to, but he just felt like holding her hand right now.

She thought it was sweet that he was close to his friends, he seemed like the type that would be there for them no matter what. Which was something about him that Jade loved, she wished that so much she could have for her friends as well. She was really close to all them in school, there whenever they needed her. But she had to show it in another way, a way that she knew they wouldn’t understand because they couldn’t know what she was. She had to leave town to keep them safe, which she still feels bad about to this day.

She smiled when he said it was easy to care about her, it made her heart sing when she realized that he cared for her. She wanted so much to have someone to care and maybe even grow to her, and she wanted so much to have someone that she could love and care for as well. She hoped so much that maybe she would have that with Oz, which was why she hoped they would see more of each other. She liked him and didn’t want to lose him from her life, plus she loved that she had met someone that was just like her. “Well since it took us so long to meet each other we just have a lot to catch up on then don’t we.” She said with a smile.

She loved hearing say that she was cool all though she loved all the sweet things he was telling her, he was such a great guy and jade was so happy to have met him. This all felt to good to be true really like she was having a dream, it wasn’t that often she meets a guy this great that was just like her none the less. Making there way over excited about getting Pizza with one another, he made the best offer a guy could ever make to a girl. “Nice you can so do that, I love ice cream. Cookie dough is the best! So what kind of ice cream you like?” She asked him

After she asked them and they sat down she realized that she was still holding his hand. It just felt so right to her and she never wanted to let go. She gave him a smile letting him know that she realized she was still holding on to his hand. “Sorry if you need your hand, I just feel so safe with you by my side.” She told him.

"Yeah, that we do." Oz told her when she said they had a lot of catching up to do. Oz actually couldn't wait to get to know Jade better, he followed her to the food court and thought he spotted someone he knew coming towards him, but he wasn't sure. He thought he saw Willow but he didn't know for sure. Oz felt a little bit guilty, what if Willow did see him with Jade? Would she understand? She moved on first right, so didn't Oz have the right to try and move on to? Then why did it suck so bad for Oz right now, it wasn't like him and Jade were an item, yet.

"I like Chocolate Chip ice cream the most." Oz replied to her, getting his mind back on the green eyed cutie in front of him. Still a pang of sadness was there over Willow, and he wasn't even sure if he saw Willow in the first place. He really enjoyed talking to Jade and it was great getting to know someone else. Someone that he did not grow up or met in high school, someone completely new to him and though it was different, he still had to know more about Jade. It wasn't every day that Oz met another werewolf and he felt a strong connection for her, something he had not felt since Willow.

"No I don't need it." Oz said in response, he really didn't need it back and she wasn't pulling her hand away yet, so why fix something that wasn't broken? Oz smiled at her. "I feel the same way." He told her truthfully, part of him was glad that she wanted to hold his hand and didn't want to pull away either. Oz felt really good now, though he still felt like he was betraying Willow in some way, in some made up way inside his head, he just wanted to enjoy being with Jade right now and he wondered he would break the news to Willow. She was happy with Lenore though, right?

"I don't think I ever asked, what brings you to Richmond?" Oz asked her suddenly. They have been talking for quite awhile already and Oz never asked her anything about herself really. What she was doing here, what she was into, he felt kind of sad that he wasn't asking her any questions really aand she was the one asking him all the questions.

Jade didn’t know what was up with Oz but he acted like he saw someone, almost like for a moment his attention was drawn somewhere else in that moment. Almost like he was looking for someone, it made Jade wonder if maybe something was more below the surface with Oz. Like there was so much more that she didn’t realize, like he was missing someone. It then made her seeing that he was hurt going threw a break up with was never easy. It killed you knowing you could never be with that person again, Jade felt that very way having to leave all her friends and family, and even the boy that she wanted so badly to be with.

Jade smile and agreed with Oz she liked Chocolate chip as well, all though she liked any kind of Chocolate really. But that comes with being a girl. “Yeah I do like that flavor too, you know we should each get those flavors and share them. That way we each get some, I mean if you want to?” She asked him with a cute like smile. “She loved getting to have this time with Oz, they really were seeing all that they had in common with each other which was a lot.

She could tell that Oz didn’t want to let up ether, that he like getting to hold her hand. He wanted to be close to her as much as she did which she couldn’t help but smile about. They both made each other feel safe and she loved that about him, she felt like with him around they could do anything. It was then she knew this was going to be a long time friendship and she hoped for something much more.

He asked what brought her to Richmond which was simple and true, even though it wasn’t really what she wanted. But she had no choice really, its what she felt she had to do. But it wasn’t the only reason she chose this town, she had been here a long time ago before now. ‘Well the reason I chose here of all places is because I have friends here. Elena and Jeremy Gilbert, there mom and dad were friends of my parents. So I use to baby-sit them when they were young. That’s why I came here, plus there pretty cool I don’t think they would tell my family that I’m here so. That’s why I chose here.” She told him. “So did you just come here because your friends are here then?”

Oz nodded at her when she told him that they should get those flavors and share them. "Sounds good to me." Oz stated simply. Oz couldn't shake the feeling that he saw Willow for a few moments, but he had to, he had to begin focusing in on Jade. Oz and Willow haven't been together for a very long time now and he had to move on, and here this girl, Jade was, and he was to busy worrying about Willow. That ship sailed long ago for Oz and he had to accept that, and he didn't mind moving on with Jade, if she wanted him to that is.

Jade didn't seem to want to pull her hand away either, which was fine for Oz. More then fine really, he was glad ad a matter of fact. Jade had the prettiest eyes Oz had ever seen, and he made a note to tell her that if they ever started getting romantic, which Oz wasn't sure she wanted yet. Holding hands didn't mean she wanted to be with him yet, it was just a comfort thing and both of them felt safe with each other. Oz wanted more, there was no doubt about it, and he wanted it with Jade, but she probably didn't want it with him, which was ok.

He nodded when she spoke of knowing people in town. Oz hadn't heard of them, but he could of sworn he over heard Buffy talking about some Gilbert's a few days ago, but he wasn't sure. He just shrugged at their names. Oz was glad that she seemed to know someone in this town other then him, so she wasn't completely alone. "That's good, are they werewolfs too?" Oz asked her wondering if they were. Oz didn't know very many people here yet either. He knew his friends, Willow, Xander, Buffy, Angel, Faith, Cordelia, and now Jade, but no one else.

"You can say that." Oz said, truth was he didn't know where his friends were when he came here and they just happened to be here. But really he came here cause he was looking for some friends, and they just happened to be here. So everything came full circle for him. "I moved into my friends boarding house." He added, it was Buffy's house he guessed, or was it Willows, or did neither of them own it and someone else did? Oz didn't really ask, as since they said it was ok that he moved in, then he took their word on it.

Jade really liked Oz a lot and they were pretty close in this moment, it was getting kind of romantic in this moment as they were holding hands. It was a the best moment for something else to happen like a kiss shared between the two. But she knew that it was why to soon for any of that to go on, plus she liked him a whole lot and didn’t want to go messing things up for them. Besides that the last thing she wanted to do was make things to fast for Oz, he all ready was shy enough as is. Jade could also tell that something was on his mind, which was something she really wanted to scratch the surface on before anything else.

Jade really knew that she needed to catch up with Elena and Jeremy, she had come to this town knowing that she had known some people but was yet to meet up with them. She wondered how they were doing and dealing with everything, Jade had not seen or talk to them since what happened which had to be hard. They had lost there mom and dad who were close friends of Jade patents. “No they were just human but they really are great people, Elena and I were really close even though she was younger then me. But for her age at the time I watched her she was a cool kid, lot smarter then the rest and sweet as can be.” Said the Werewolf. “I really need to go see them now that I’m back, maybe you can meet them when I go see them. I know they would like you.”

Jade really wanted to meet Oz friends, but then again she wanted to know everything there was about him. “Well that’s cool I will have to see where you live sometime.” Said the brown haired girl. “So can I ask you something? Sorry to seem like I’m being nosey I’m not trying to be or anything but there is something about you I’m sensing, having you been hurt recently? I mean having you broken up with someone?” She really hoped she wasn’t crossing any lines, she just wanted to know all that she could about Oz. She really cared about him, more then he may realize. “I’m sorry it just seemed like earlier you acted like you saw someone, or hoped so anyway.”

Oz really wanted to kiss Jade right now, but what if she rejected him? What if this whole conversation was ruined because of that kiss? Oz decided not to kiss Jade, as he didn't want to move to fast with he, and he still was uncertain of things with Willow. He knew he had to move on finally, but that didn't make things easier on him. Oz knew that he and Willow could only be friends at this point in time, but hom and Jade could have so much more, and he didn't want to ruin that by scaring her off by moving to fast.

"They sound like good people." Oz commented as she spoke of Jeremy and Elena. Oz would really want Jade to meet his friends too, if one of his friends wasn't Willow. He didn't really know how to handle it. Should he just tell Willow and hope she would understand? Should he ask Buffy or Xander for advice first? Oz didn't really know, and he didn't want to spring Jade on Willow just yet, not till he knew how she was gonna react. "Sounds good." Oz said giving her a little bit of a smile. He didn't mind meeting them, he just hoped they understood about werewolfs.

It was like Jade could read his mind on Willow or something. Oz just shrugged. "No, but I was hoping to get back together with her, but she is seeing someone else." Oz told her truthfully, Oz didn't want Jade to think that the only reason he was talking to her was gonna Willow only wanted to be friends. He really liked Jade and that was just a fact. It was just coincidence that Willow and him met a few days ago and didn't get back together. Oz wanted to be with Jade, but part of him was holding on to something that he was never gonna have with Willow.

"Its ok. I'd much rather be with you right now." Oz told Jade truthfully. Yeah he still loved Willow, and probably always will, but he was with Jade right now, and if she wanted to be with him, if she wanted to be more then just friends, then you were not gonna hear Oz complain about it.

“Yeah they are good people, I really do miss them I cant wait to see them again.” She said with a smile. It was the truth Jeremy and Elena were more then great they were amazing, Elena was a such a sweet hearted person always there when you needed her. Jeremy is smart funny can always fix a situation it seemed, or at lest make it better. So it was safe to say that would be having some pretty fun times with Jade came to see them. She just wondered how they were doing with everything and dealing with the loss of there mom and dad.

It broke Jade’s heart to hear that there was someone he wanted to be with and couldn’t, seeing someone with another person can really hurt. Jade was just here happy that she could maybe make him feel better. But at the same time she felt a bit guilty because a part of her was happy that girl was with another, just because of the fact that she really really likes Oz and hopes maybe something lies ahead for them. They have so much in common and all she can think about is getting to spend more time getting to know him.

She smiled really big when he said that he wanted to be there with her in this moment, its what Jade wanted so much getting to hang with Oz. Which they did for the rest of the day, they eat there lunch which lead into taking a walk for a bit, talking more about his music which she loved. Plus she knew that it got his mind off of all the other stuff he had going on. After while he walked her to her car taking each others numbers, hoping and planning to see each other real soon.

On that car ride all she could think about was that cute boy in the band, she couldn’t get this big smile that she had on her face. She felt just like a young girl in love again, which was a feeling she loved and longed for so much. She couldn’t wait till she saw him again.
