---------------------- [/color]  ----------------------[/color] Jeremy was walking alone after school listing to his Ipod, he had a pretty good day at school. But he still feel like going home just yet, he didn’t feel like listing to any of the sad stuff going on. Even though he does feel for Elena, it been hard for her with out Stefan there for her. And Jeremy hope and knows that they will work it out and they will get back together. Jeremy may not be his biggest fan at the moment, but that doesn't mean he doesn't want him better. He wants whatever will make Elena happy.
Then as Jeremy was walking, he thought about maybe going to the a coffee shop to draw for a bit. It was better then going home and a good way to kill boredom. So still jamming his Ipod he started walking to the Coffee shop, he needed a rest and to get he was getting tired of carrying this heavy back pack on his back. Plus he had some homework he needed to do, it might be a good idea to work on it there to.
Jeremy had made to the coffee shop and headed in, he opened up the glass door to walk in. When he walked in the place it was dead along with silence, which was good he could draw and get some homework done. He walk over to a table in the coffee shop and sat down He sat down his back pack pulled out his home work and art book, he hope to get some of it done before he could draw. Hopefully he will be able to with no interruptions, but with Jeremy crazy life there is no Guarantee there.

----------------------- [/b]  -----------------------[/b] April parked her truck just outside the coffee house. It had been at least a week since she and her father had moved back down to Mystic Falls. She knew she would have to eventually talk to her old friends, but it sucked being the new girl in town who had to go out of her way to try and make some new friends. She was already friends with Rebekah and she knew that the Gilberts knew that she was back in town. Her father was close to the Gilberts and Elena and Matt use to baby-sit her and Jeremy when they were younger.
April got out of her truck and made her way towards the coffee shop and it was silent as a tomb. She walked up to the counter and ordered herself a cup of coffee and looked around the room and out of the corner of her eye she saw a familiar face: Jeremy Gilbert. She paid for her coffee and walked over to where Jeremy was and smiled.“Hey stranger,” she said. “Bet you don’t remember me and yet I am surprised that you and Elena haven’t come with a squad team demanding to know why I haven’t been over to see either of you,” she added as she grinned at Jeremy. “Though you look like you rather be left alone so if you aren’t in the mood to have company I will be on my way,” she said as she started to head out for the door.

---------------------- [/color] ----------------------[/color] Jeremy listened to his Ipod while trying to work on some of his math home work, even though he really didn’t want to work on it he would much rather be drawing something. But at the same time he really didn’t need another bad grade ether, not only would that suck for him but it would not make Elena very happy. Right now with everything going on in her life she didn’t need that on top of everything, she had enough drama going on for her as is.
Jeremy continued on working on his homework enjoying the quite, he had to get done. It was due tomorrow and he didn’t have anything on there somewhat even close to being done. He had to get this done so he could study for a test he had, he was never going to get all this done. He doesn’t even know why he bothered to bring his sketchpad, it not like he was going to have time to draw anytime soon. Nice wish. He looked up at the clock seeing what time it was, he didn’t even think he was going to be able to have dinner with Elena tonight he had to much to do. He knew he should text her letting her know.
So he started to shoot a text to his sister and when he did, he looked over to find a April standing before him. “Hey how you been? Its been a while that I have seen you.’ he told her with a smile. “Please sit down you are not intruding at all, actually maybe you could help me with this home work. I have to get a good grade and from some reason its not coming to me.” he was happy to see April he had not seen her or talked in a good while. So it will be nice to catch up.

----------------------- [/b] -----------------------[/b] April stopped in her tracks when Jeremy greeted her and smiled at him when he didn’t shoo her away like a stray puppy and she sat down beside Jeremy. “I’ve been all right like I said just settling in around here with my dad,” she said as she put her phone in her pocket and looked down at Jeremy’s homework. Out of all the subjects she hated Math was one of them. “Not sure how much help I can be since me and numbers don’t get along,” she said smiling as she pulled her calculator out.
“Geeze you have made quite a mess with this,” she said as she shook her head. “Let’s see if I help fix it. Before I do I’m going to order a cup of coffee. This may take a while and we can also catch up since I haven’t seen you in a long time,” she added as she motioned for the waiter to come over and she told the waiter that she wanted a cup of coffee with cream and sugar. The waiter went off to get her drink and she felt her phone vibrate in her pocket and decided to ignore it.
“How are things around here?” she asked as she looked at Jeremy. “My father and I are still settling into town. He stays busy or tries to stay busy to keep his mind off of mom.” Since the death of her mother April’s father had pretty much decided to pack up and move back to Mystic Falls so he could help the town out. The waiter brought April her drink and she thanked them and she sipped on it and waited patiently for Jeremy to answer her questions.

---------------------- [/color] ----------------------[/color] “Well sit down and chill with me for a bit, your dad will be fine for awhile. He told her. Jeremy was so happy to see April they had talked about meeting up real soon, But with school and everything going on lately it hasn’t been easy. So she picked a good time to show up, well except for the fact that he had all this home work. Which he really doesn’t want to work on, if he had it his way he would much rather leave and go do something a lot more fun. Going to the movies, going to a bon fire, and even shopping for that matter. Anything was better then sitting here working on math.
Jeremy smiled when he saw her pull out her calculator, he knew that she really wanted to help him. But that was April always being a kind friend always willing to help out a friend. “Well you and I can both not get along with these numbers, how does that sound?” he said with a laugh. Jeremy was happy to be getting any kind of help with this, there was no way she could be any worse then he was. The sad thing was Jeremy wasn’t that bad at math, it was just this assignment they were having them do which was tricky . “Yeah I don’t even know what I’m doing anymore.” he said sounding lost.
She seemed to want to know how things were around here, when really Jeremy couldn’t even tell her how nuts its been. She should be so lucky not to know what was in fact really out there. “things around here are same old same old, and I know how you feel. Elena and me try to go everyday keeping busy, it helps keep are mind busy as well. It hasn’t been easy with out our mom and dad.” Jeremy felt like he could talk to April for some reason, seeing that she had gone through a lot as well.

She was slightly worried about her father since the death of her mother her father had been doing a lot of stuff with the church and really hadn't been paying that much attention to April. She couldn't help but laugh at Jeremy's comment about the math homework. "Sounds like a plan to me, Jer," she said as she grabbed his hand and shook it and grinned. Just like they were kids. "Let's see what we got here," she mused as she started adding up his numbers and was getting something totally different. "The hell?" she asked as she gave her head a shake. "That ain't right." She took some scratch paper and started jotting down numbers and shook her head. "I need a caffeine buzz before I start making a bigger mess of things," she said as she sipped on her coffee and put her headphones into her ear and started jotting about and swatted Jeremy's hand when he tried to take the paper from her. "If you want to keep that hand I advise you let me do my thing," she teased as she continued doing her thing and then finished. "There we go problem made better or worse take your pick," she said as she handed him the paper and it looked like it went to hell and back. "Told ya I am horrible with numbers," she said with a chuckle.
April paused for a moment to think and she smiled fondly. “It’s never easy to move on,” she said softly. “You know you can always talk to me if you ever feel like you don’t have anyone else to turn to, just so you know. “

---------------------- [/color] ----------------------[/color] He hoped that maybe she could figure out this home work better then he could, he couldn't get a bad grade on this other wise Elena may kill him. But he wasn't to worry about he knew that April was going to help him, she was a lot better at math then she gave herself credit for. He really liked this time that they were having together, they really had a lot in common with there family. They both had lost people that meant a lot to them, so it really was nice that Jeremy had someone here that he could talk and spend time with.
"I know right this math is nuts, It like they don't want us to pass. Why do they have to make this so imposable." Said Jeremy. "But yeah a coffee buzz might help a bit. Other wise I might be in trouble with this one. He thought it was sweet that she wanted to help so much, hell she wouldn't even let Jeremy take the paper back. She was determined to help him get a good grade on this. Which Jeremy was very thankful for. He really did owe a lot to April for her doing this for him. He took a sip of his coffee as well, hoping maybe he would wake up some as well, he wasn't sleeping much these days. Worrying about passing school along with helping his sister, things really had been stressful these days.
He let her do her thing till finally she was done handing back the paper, he took a good look at the page seeing if the problems made sense and so far it did. It seemed like she knew more about what she was doing then she realized. "Yeah this is right, you know more about this then you think you do." He said to her with a smile. "Thanks so much, and you know I think I get what you did. Maybe now I can start understanding this math more."
April was right its never easy to move on at all, Jeremy may never after losing his family. But it was nice knowing that April was there if he ever needed someone to talk to. He was there for her as well whenever see needed someone as well. "Thanks April that means a lot, just remember I'm here whenever you need someone as well." He said while placing his hand on her shoulder.

----------------------- [/b] -----------------------[/b] After an hour and a half of working on Jeremy’s homework with him she had finally figured out his problem and she narrowed her eyes at him slightly in a teasing manner. “And to think I use to ask you to help me with my spelling words,” she said. “Now I am helping you with math. By the way, Jer, you owe me an ice cream cone for helping you with this mess and don’t even think about trying to go back and fix it because if you do I am so not going to help you fix it again and Elena can have the honor of ringing your neck.”
April absolutely enjoyed teasing Jeremy. She always enjoyed his company and in a way he was more like her younger brother due to their slight age difference, but age didn’t matter to her in the slightest. She smiled at Jeremy. “Thanks I appreciate that and yes my father and I got the flowers Elena sent us to my mom’s funeral. They were beautiful,” she said as she thought back to her mom’s funeral. She missed her mother a lot but she kept moving on. “Actually I was wondering in case if Matt is working on the day of the Founder’s Pagenant Dance I was wondering if you could escort me so I don’t look like a fool? I know you and Bonnie are together, but you’re the only other guy I know and the rest are just big pigs with only sex on the brain,” she added as she blushed slightly.

---------------------- [/color] ----------------------[/color] She was right they did use to help each other a lot in school, they had been going to school together since grade school. I didn't even seem like it had been that long that they had known each other, it really was crazy how much time flies for them. Before Jeremy knows it he will be an old man, which is fine he just hopes by then for one and one thing only. That was for his sister to be happy living the life she always wanted, human or not and Jeremy would love and be happy for her no matter what she chose.
"Your right we did use to do each others spelling work, man you have a good memories better then I do that's for sure." He told her. "Life has just gotten so crazy and busy to the point I tend to forget about the little things, which needs to change in his book. Those little things are what matters most." He smiled when she said that she wanted some ice cream for the help, which he couldn't lie it did sound good right about now. "Ok calm down" He said with a laugh. "I will get you all the ice cream you want, now my question is do they serve it here?" Jeremy looked around wondering not really sure, seeing that he wasn't to big an ice cream eater that was more Elena.
He was happy that she got the flowers Elena really was happy about sending them to her, even though they didn't change all that happened. He wished so much that life would have been easier for April, he hated all that she has had to go through. It wasn't fair at all to her. "Well that's good that you got them, I will let her know." He told her. He wasn't sure on what to say next or what to do on this one, it sounded fun and he be happy to take her. But he couldn't do that to Bonnie, he didn't even know if she was going. And if she was he wanted so much to be going with his girl, but he didn't want to let April down. "Let me talk to Bonnie about it and see what she says, I'm not sure if she is even going yet." He hoped that she wasn't mad for his answer and understood why. He loved Bonnie and couldn't mess anything up again, they didn't need to relive the past

They had some really good times together and she grinned as she thought about the time they chased Elena with a can of shaving cream because she wouldn’t let them have ice cream before dinner. “Yep. I remember when I was about six and you were eight and we were playing with shaving cream and we wanted ice cream and Elena and Matt wouldn’t let us have ice cream, and we chased them with the shaving cream and we ended up spraying your dad and mom who weren’t too pleased with us for that matter,” she teased as she chuckled.
April listened as Jer talked and she smiled softly. Of course…duh. He had to ask to make sure Bonnie wasn’t going to be going if she was going to go April would find someone else to take her or she could ask Elena out. “I understand perfectly,” she said smiling. “I think we can take a small break from doing this homework. I got an idea: how about we go to the mall and have a little fun like play some arcade games?” she asked as she smiled at Jeremy. She wanted to hang out with her old friends because she missed them. “Do you have Elena’s number? I lost her e-mail and cell number when my phone had an accident with the washing machine and I had to get a new one,” she added with a smile.

---------------------- [/color] ----------------------[/color] Jeremy smiled when she began talking about all the times they has with each other, it put a smile on his face thinking about those days. But it also made him think about how much he missed those days, not just because of his mom and dad. But because of how easy it was then, no vampires to deal with just a normal apple pie life for Jeremy and Elena. Which is something he really misses for them. He wished so much that they could go back. But he knew that would never happen for them, life sucks that way and you can never go back to what once was. “Yeah I do remember those days, but I also remember after a few minutes of doing so my dad ended up chiming in thinking it was funny.” he said laughing. “My dad was a fun guy like that, my mom and Elena wasn’t to happy with him but oh well it was fun.”
Jeremy really liked Aprils idea for going to the mall; but he really needed to get to this home work. Other wise Elena was going to kill him. But he did need to have a bit of fun, life really had been stressful lately. It seemed like these days fun isn’t something he does anymore. “You know I really need to get to this work, but it really is tempting.” He then though about it for another moment before he answered. “Ok I will do it but you have to promise me something. We have to work on home work again later, you have to make me do it ok?” He asked her.
He then wrote down Elena’s phone number handing it to her. “Here is her cell, call her real soon. I know she love to her from you.“ he told her. He Then got up from the table getting his stuff so they could get going to the mall. “All right lets get going and do this thing, you have your car or we going to walk?

----------------------- [/b] -----------------------[/b] April couldn’t help but laugh at the fond memories that popped into her head. The Gilbert family was like her second family. They had been through so much growing up together. Jeremy’s family had been there when April’s family needed someone to be there for them and their mother was a really good friend of April’s mother. Sort of like her second adopted sister as her mother would all way say about Miranda Gilbert. April really missed her mother, but she didn’t want bring that up. She knew she needed to talk about it, but now wasn’t the time to turn into a dish cloth in front of Jeremy about it. She gave her head a shake and then playfully pouted when Jeremy made a comment about staying to do his homework instead of hanging out with her.
“Oh, come on,” she said. “It’s not every day I get to see you.” She playfully batted her eyelashes and smiled when he finally caved in. “I will make you do your homework later. We can do it at your house where we aren’t distracted,” she added as she got up and grabbed her purse which came opened and spewed her stuff all over the floor and she resisted the urge to face-palm herself as she bent down to pick up her stuff she had dropped. “Don’t laugh,” she teased as she looked at Jeremy and she took Elena’s number and added it into her phone and she wrote down her number as well and handed it Jeremy. “I shall call her soon and that’s my number in case you need me for anything,” she added with a smile. She followed Jeremy outside. “I have a truck,” she said as she pointed to a blue Chevy truck that had a few scratches on it. “We could walk, but it would take a little while to get there to the mall.” She unlocked the truck and opened the door up and got in and waited a few minutes for Jeremy to get inside so they could drive to the mall.

Plus he figured why not stay up late and work on it later, it wasn’t like he was sleeping much these days anyway. He was up late to busy worrying about Elena, wondering if she is ok and trying to make sure she is safe. That was really all he cared about anymore in this life, was her safety. But then again she was all the family he really had left.
“Ok you got me I guess I can always work on this later, but as long as you will help me if I need it.” He said while pointing at her. “But ok lets do this thing!” he laughed as April dropped everything out of her purse. He could tell that his laughing wasn’t helping her at all in the lest. “I’m not laughing at you, I’m lauging with you. Besides why you girls have to put so much in there anyway, what you all have in there that you really need anyway?” He asked her.
He knew that Elena would be happy to hear from her, he just hopes that maybe they will hang a bit more. It may do her some good and get her mind off something’s, Jeremy could only hope anyway. He followed her out to her car seeing the blue Chevy. “I like your truck its nice, and yeah lets drive for sure it is a bit for a walk.” Jeremy got in shortly after April, taking a seat and buckling his seat belt. “So ready to go to the mall and spend some money on useless things we don’t need.” he said with a smile. “All though I do need some new shits.”

"Thanks, I got it for my sixteenth birthday," she replied as she unlocked her truck and let Jeremy in and smiled as she started it up. "Most girls perfer those fancy cars. I'm not like most of them," she added as she pulled out of the parking lot and drove them to the mall. It would take roughly about twenty minutes tops to get there.
"Also in regards of your question as to why a girl carries so much crap in their purse is because we have to carry half of our cosmetics in it," she teased as she smiled at Jeremy. It was true girls carry so much crap in their purse that it was literally ridiculous to keep track of what they had in it.
April pulled her truck into the parking lot and grabbed her purse as soon as she parked and unbuckled herself from the car and got out. "Let's see besides the ice cream you owe me what else you need to get besides shirts?" she asked as she looked at Jeremy and led the way inside the ice cream paral and ordered herself a chocolate ice cream cone and smirked at Jeremy. "Sorry after doing that ridiculous math homework I deserve something sweet," she said with a giggle as she licked her ice cream. It was good to be back home in Mystic Falls and she knew it was only a matter of time before Elena came around asking where she had been hiding.

April was right about one thing, Jeremy did like to play games and he did pretty well when he got in the zone. But there is just something about drawing that he loves, something that lets him let go of what he is feeling. “No I still draw are you kidding! Yes I do love to play some games that is true but I still love to draw, I mean it’s a passion of mine something that calms me down.” said Jeremy.
Jeremy then looked noticing the man she was looking at, he guess that he kind of looked like Joe Dirt he was more like a loser really. “yeah I guess.” he said to her before she hit him in the arm. “Hey that hurts!” He said while rubbing his arm. “And yeah I can take a joke I just don’t know if he looked like him fully. But then again its been so long that I saw that movie so what do I know.”
“But Yeah I think I found all I was looking for anyway.“ He said while looking in his bag. Jeremy did find a lot that he was looking for, a new shirt, a pair of shoes and even a new Cd. Now all he had to do was tell his sister about all the money he spend, he was sure that she would be thrilled.
She then said that she needed to get back soon, which Jeremy was totally ok with he needed to get back as well. “Yeah lets head out its getting late and I need to get back, I have more home work so.” The then made there way out of the mall and back home, April dropped Jeremy off before making her way back home to her dad.
