--------------------------------Just another patrol night Faith had told herself and yet something felt strange about today, maybe it was just her hormones playing a trick on her or something like that. She figured that it was far more likely to be that. But she could not help it the place was giving her the creeps. There had always been far too many supernatural things in sunnydale but this was something else. Faith felt like they were simply buying time around before a new end of the world type of war decided to show up and kick them off their rocker. Some people might say she was being far too negative but she would much rather think she was being realist. Things were not about to get easier for any of them. It never was easy.
The night was quiet and the only thing that she could really hear was her own footstep and she had to admit that it was calming. While she was forever on her guards, looking over her shoulder. It was nice to have a somewhat quiet time. That quiet time didn’t last for long enough and soon she found herself fighting with a vampire who clearly had never encounter a slayer before or he would have known that slayers were not that easy to kill. The fight was short and annoyed Faith more than anything. “I hate breaking a sweat for a first round knockout.” She told the pile of dust at her feet as if it could hear her now.
Faith kicked the ground next to where the vampire had been and walked away. It sure was a quiet night specially when you took into consideration all the supernatural this town seem to hold. Whatever was out there was most likely just waiting for the perfect time to pounce and while she knew that they could kick the ass of anything that tried to stand in their ways, it didn’t mean that she was not worried. She didn’t like new places at least not anymore. It meant more things that she could not control and who wanted to deal with that? With everything she had been through, with completely losing herself into the madness she likes to be able to control the things around her, it made her life so much easier.
But still she was not about to give up. she knew she could do it, she knew she could easily fight it. Or well she wanted to believe that she could easily fight it. There was no way she was going to allow herself to fall into her previous pattern. She had hated herself back then and there was no way she was going to go back to that. She could not go back to that, she didn’t think she could ever get back from it if she let herself fall back into that. The brunette slayer quickly turned around on her heels to look into the darkness as she heard something.

--------------------------------------------------It was one of those days where Xander didn't want to do anything and could you blame him? Nothing interesting or terrifying was happening in Richmond everything was so peaceful. There was the usual patrol which the slayers and potentials did even the hunters Dean and his brother Sam which left Xander to train the potentials. Xander was supposed to train Buffy well even though she didn't need training it was more of sparring but that wasn't the case if she wasn't busy all the time the two could train but she was and there was the fact that the two still hadn't talked and her ignoring his text just made it worse. The two would talk at some point.
Xander left him and Andrew's room and went downstairs and went to the couch to lay on it just since he had nothing better to do. He dozed off and took a nap yeah boring day and being unconscious would be better than being up and wondering what to do. He heard a noise and said, "Coming Will!" Wait what was he saying? Was Willow even in the house? He honestly didn't know since the two hadn't talked a lot. The red-head was off with Bonnie most of the time practicing spells but it wasn't all the time. Xander could tell that Willow was hiding a secret and maybe she was seeing someone that could be the secret he wasn't sure but he knew that something was off and he'd find out. God both of his best friends were just out and about while he laid down on a couch doing nothing, what was his life at the moment?
He honestly felt useless right now just moping around and for once he wished that Andrew was here to entertain him, that boy always wanted to hangout with Xander but now that he had a boyfriend he was always hanging out with him and Xander couldn't blame him for that it was Andrew's boyfriend so Xander had to take that into consideration but at times like this he wished the blonde boy was here. Danny was a cool guy so it was good that Andrew was seeing him. He just really hoped someone would be home soon so he could talk to them or maybe just someone random like the pizza guy. Xander decided to order pizza and once the guy came he talked to him for a little bit and got his pizza. He went back to the couch and turned on the tv.
This was his Saturday afternoon having pizza and flipping the channels trying to find something. All his friends were probably out on dates are partying at clubs, sometimes Xander could be such a loser. He took a slice of pizza and started eating. He should have gotten himself some wings but it was too late for that. Maybe he'd have his own fat day where he just ate that should be fun and maybe do some experiments as well. "This is the life," he said with a grin. He was relaxed he should be happy nothing was happening and he didn't have to train anyone so today was actually a good day.
His relaxing day, or night was over though, Xander had decided that he would patrol tonight and he wasn't a slayer but hey, he did have a few tricks up his sleeve. He took a stake and some holy water just in case something went wrong. Xander didn't have the strength and maybe it was a bad idea to go by himself but he was bound to run into a slayer, at least one slayer would patrol a night maybe even more. He decided to start off with the cemetery. Before Xander went off he got a bag of chips just in case it was a slow night and he started eating it, he was probably making a lot of noise but for some reason he didn't really care at the moment. Xander had noticed a figure and he knew who it was, the girl turned around and Xander grinned. "Whoa! It's just me," he put a chip in his mouth. "What's up?" He asked the girl. Well, she was clearly patrolling but he was making conversation and he hadn't talked to the brunette in a really long time plus Xander was just random.

--------------------------------Feeling like you had to prove yourself all the time was hard and not something that Faith felt she was strong enough to do. But she would not give up, in a way part of her wanted to be part of something bigger than she was. For the longest time she had been on her own, not really knowing where she belonged. The first time she had come to Sunnydale, she had tried her best to fit in in her own way but that had not lasted for long as back then she was forever dancing on either side, unsure if she was to be good or bad. But when she had meet the mayor, he had given her just the little push she needed to figured out where she though she should have been.
Having always been the bad girl, she felt into the role the mayor had given her with ease. It was easy for her to play that part. Easy to get the slayer’s attention somewhere else because even with the short time she had spent with Buffy she had soon came to know the girl’s weakness and of course she had to use it against her. it was simply part of who Faith was back then. She had even tried to kill Buffy and for the longest time she had not even felt guilt about it. But those days were gone and Faith would forever be thankful that Angel had been there for her when she had been sure no one would ever be again.
In a way Angel had literally saved her life. Had it not been of him, Faith most likely would have ended up being dead, she would have started to take more and more chances and finally reach a point where she would simply run into danger head first hoping she would die. She had never mentioned this again and it would take someone darn special for her to actually say it but she had wish to die, wish that someone would kill her. the guilt she had been feeling was far too much and yet in a way she was too much of a coward to kill herself. So instead she had stayed where she had been and simply did everything wrong.
But having done her time in jail had given her time to think and figure out what she should do with her life. In a way it had been what she had needed back then. Pay for what she had done to be able to move on. Unfortunately she had not been able to do her time the way she had wanted to since some bitch had tried to kill her and Faith had broken out and ended up fighting the good fight against the scoobies. And yet she didn’t really feel like she was part of them. When Faith heard the noise coming from behind her it had to bring her back to reality and she was ready for a fight only to find Xander there. And like every time she saw him, she had a smirk on her face. Of course she knew why, it had went back to one of their previous encounter where Faith had managed to get her way with Xander but that was such a long time ago, it felt like it had been in another life. She had been a complete other person back then. ‘Yo, shouldn’t sneak up on a slayer like this, you know it’s really not smart.’’ She pointed out. ‘’what brings you out here, missed me?’’ she asked him the smirk still on her face, there was no way to see if she was kidding or not.

--------------------------------------------------It was hard for Xander to fit in considering everyone he knew was part of the supernatural and he hated it at first but now he learned how to live with it. Besides, he liked being the ordinary human because he felt special that he was the only normal one. He saw all his friends normal but normal people with special powers, Xander didn't have these powers and it did upset him from time to time because well, he was the weakest one because of it...well not really technically Dawn was the weakest one but it still didn't matter, he just felt like a fish out of water sometimes. He knew that it would always be like that and that was why he tried to get over it quickly. But it was just hard and he knew that it was just how the world worked but sometimes the world was just unfair.
It wasn't weird to be talking to Faith alone but it was weird at the same time...if that made sense to any human being that could understand Xander Harris' brain. The two had a complicated history, well not so much but it did impact Xander since he lost his virginity to a girl who could care less about him. He didn't know what her feelings for him now but he knew that the two were never going to be anything considering their encounter when they were back in high school. He had thought he had made a connection with the girl but really he was just trash to her once she was done using him for that one time. But somehow the two managed to become friends, well if they could call it that, they hadn't really talked a lot but still she was one awesome chick.
"We both know I'm not the brightest I mean my GPA was like a 2.0 maybe just skimming under," he said not really caring about it. "Telling you, it was my Math teacher who had it out for me," he said even though he had no evidence. "You could say that," he said with a grin while stuffing a few chips on his mouth. "Want some? You gotta be hungry," he offered the bag of potato chips. Potato chips were literally the best, they had the right amount of salt, well every chip was just good so there really was no complaining. "How've you been Faith? We haven't really had the chance to be buddy buddy and chat y'know?" He asked the girl. He wondered what she had been up to lately, he was just a curious guy.
The man was making conversation and he really did want to know if the slayer was doing well. Xander failed when she was considering going to the dark side and if that was ever to happen again he'd make sure to succeed. Faith was a heck of a woman and she was just troubled, not so much anymore or maybe she was and he didn't know. He just wanted to make sure the girl was alright. She deserved to not be alone and he'd be there for since Angel couldn't at the moment. Xander did need to talk about the past though, if that topic every came up though, Xander would be too much of a wimp to talk about it out loud. He knew that it would have to be brought up at some point in time but it probably wouldn't be tonight because well there was no reason to rehash the past now.

-------------------------------- Faith had never really wondered what it was all to be normal. Because when she had first meet the scoobies she had been acting like she was better than them because she was a slayer but she had soon realised that each and everyone one of them had their own power, even if they were completely human. it was of course unheard of for a slayer to have friends, people who actually knew about what she was let alone be there for you and even help you. Usually it was a slayer and her watcher and that was it. But with Buffy all the rules had been broken, not only did she have friends that were there to help along side with her, she had other slayers and plenty of potentials, seriously the bad guys had no idea what was coming if they tried to mess with them.
Did faith feel bad about the way she had acted with Xander? Of course she did. She had been cruel to him, she had used him and gotten rid of him when she had felt like it. Maybe she should let him know that was the previous her that she had changed. But what could would take make? She had been pretty awful to all of them and while the worst had been to Buffy, it didn’t mean that she didn’t felt guilt for the way she had acted with the rest of them. Of course the fact that she had taken Xander virginity had proved to be a useful tactic to get Anya to stop talking about their own moments between the sheets. It was not to be mean, it was just that no one wanted to hear that. No one needed the details of their encounters.
But Xander was a great guy and someone she had found to consider a friend. She had no idea of the same would be said for him about her. But he was still talking to her which was a good start. And who wouldn’t like to have Xander around, he was funny, caring and just an all-around fun guy. Of course there was also the fact that there was no much he wouldn’t do for his friends if he needed to. Faith laughed at his comment. “Well still after all these years of hanging around a slayer one would think you would know better than this.” She told him with a small smile. She didn’t mean anything mean by it but still he could have gotten hurt, had she didn’t see him for him quickly. She took a quick look at the chips and shrugged. “Sure.” She tucked her stake into her back pocket and took some chips from the bag. “I’ve been great same old same old, patrolling, living at the motel.” Faith had yet to get her own place. “the usual. But I have been good.”
When he asked how she was doing, Faith knew that he didn’t ask just because it was what he should do. She knew that Xander actually cared. “what about you Xander? How is the life of the watcher?” she asked him curiously before starting to finally eat the chips that were starting to feel greasy into the palm of her hand. She cleaned her hand on her jeans as her eyes were focused on him but her ears and slayer sense were focusing on everything that was around, she knew better than to take the chance of just talking to someone and then being attacked. It happened far too often. One had to be careful because you never knew what would happen. And while Faith was always hitching for a great fight, it didn’t mean that she was looking to get Xander into the middle of one.
Note:: Faith would literally freak out. She wouldn’t know how to deal with that.

--------------------------------------------------"C'mon! We all know that I ain't the smartest boy in the group, leave it to Giles," he told her with a laugh. Giles was honestly the most intelligent man Xander had met. Giles was just wise and to be honest Xander had missed the old man. It had been awhile and Giles was in Rome right now, for a second Xander was actually thinking about going back. He did like it here and he was glad him, Buffy, and Willow were able to talk about the problems they were having but he just didn't know about this town, could he really fit in? He loved his friends and wanted to be there for them but Xander really needed to learn how to be on his own...but he knew in the end he would decide to stay in Richmond because well his friends were here and he wanted to be in their lives.
Xander did truly care about Faith. He even cared for her when she went to the dark side and that was saying something. He wanted to reconnect with her in a friendly way. He knew that nothing would happen between the two, they weren't going to date or anything because well Faith wouldn't want a guy like Xander. There were various times where Xander had thought about asking the woman out but he knew he didn't have a chance so he let it go and he was still letting it go. Xander was a realist. If anything Faith wanted a guy like Angel or maybe even Spike so in reality Xander and Faith would be friends maybe even good friends if they talked more which he intended to do she would have to put in an effort to the friendship as well of course.
Xander took a few more chips into his mouth, god they were just too good. He then swallowed so he could answer Faith's question. "Pretty great actually," he said with a smile. "I finally have something I'm good at, well I'm good at construction but I mean something in the supernatural crazy world," he said looking at her. Xander knew what his part was and that was to be the weakling but being a watcher made him feel so much different about it, sure maybe he was the weakling still but at least he wasn't the same weakling as before. "It's been hard though you know always being busy, I can never just watch some TV and have a snack like back then," he said with a sigh. He missed being lazy and just sitting on the couch watching television or laying in his bed and reading comic books.
"It's been hard here with being mad at Buff but I'm not anymore, we fixed it," he said with a big smile on his face. He was really glad that him and Buffy made up, they were finally in a good place. "How's Richmond treatin' ya? Do you like it better here than the other places you've been?" He wanted to know if Faith felt like she fit in here and if she didn't then Xander would try and convince her that she did because if anything Faith belonged in the group. She may have had made mistakes but everyone has once or a couple times when dealing with the supernatural. Life was about making mistakes and if someone is involved with demons and vampires then there's going to be many more mistakes. Everyone can get back on the right path though and Xander was glad Faith did because now she had friends she could turn to if she was ever feeling down.

-------------------------------- Faith laughed as he said he was not the smartest one in the group. “still you have some survival skills I have seen them at work.” She pointed out. Of course Giles was most likely the smartest person in their little group of friends. Faith was not stupid but she was also not book smart. if anything she was more likely street smart or something like that whatever it meant. She had never been on for school, never graduated high school let alone went to college but it didn’t mean that she was not smart. it simply meant that she was not made for school. At least that was what she had been trying to tell herself for so long.
Understand why people would forgive her after the horrible things she had done was not something she could actually understand. She didn’t think that people had even cared for her while she had been to the dark side. But there had been something that willow had said that had not left her. They had actually tried to be her friend and in way Faith felt that Willow had even tried to bring her back to the good side at that point even when she probably knew that it was useless. But all the wrong things she had done had brought her over to this moment of her life. They had shaped her for who she was. It made her realise that she could not do these things on her own and that she needed people to help her and it was actually okay to ask for help.
“oh Xander you are good at plenty of things, no need to worry about that.” She told him before taking some more chips. Seriously what was it about chips that made her never want to stop eating them? Was there something in them that made you want to eat the whole bag? They were completely addictive. She went back to focusing on Xander. He was such a sweet guy, how could she have been so mean to him? He was the type of guy you wanted to bring back home to mom, assuming you had a mother of course. But still at least she had managed to get his friendship back which meant a lot to her. She would most likely act as if she didn’t really care but truthfully she was happy to have him around. “well at least you bring your snack around with you.” She told him as she finished the chips she already had in her mouth. “it’s better than nothing.”
“Glad you two works things out. I know for how long you have been friends.” While Faith had never been close to someone the way the golden trio was she could try and understand how they actually felt about each other. They had been through everything together and she could easily guess how painful it had been to Xander to be mad at one of his best friend. But thankfully they had managed to get over whatever it was that had happen to them. “Why were you mad at B anyway?” she asked him raising an eyebrow. Was it that Xander was still in love with the blonde slayer and knew that there was no way they would be together? She doubted it, Faith knew how much Xander had love Anya and she was pretty sure he had moved on from Buffy a long time ago. Faith shrugged when he asked her if she liked it better here than the other places. Truth was Faith didn’t really care where she was. “well it’s better than prison. She said with shrug. “What about you, this better than the hellmouth?” she asked him, as far as she knew he had only been in Sunnydale or at least for the better part of his life so this was clearly something new.

--------------------------------------------------"That my friend is true," he pointed to the girl in a funny gesture. He was enjoying with himself with Faith right now. The best thing about the girl was that she was upfront about everything usually so if a fight ever occurred with the two it would be resolved right away whereas when Xander, Buffy, and Willow fought it didn't get resolved because the three of them would keep it in until one of them burst. Faith was just different than his other friends and that could be because they slept together or it could just be the fact that she wasn't all about the Buffy way, Xander didn't know she was just different.
"I guess I can say I'm a good comedian," he said jokingly. He wasn't really funny, he was an idiot at times which made him seem funny but that was about it. He was okay with being the one he wasn't the greatest at things, he wasn't perfect, he was just a human a normal average human that just conveniently knew about the supernatural. He didn't mind this at all even though at times it did bug him that his friends had the power and he didn't. Some days he did wish that he had something, he wasn't sure what but anything that could make him strong, not a vampire because he couldn't deal with being the same age forever and drinking blood wasn't his kind of thing. It'd be cool to be a slayer though, probably one of the best things to be.
Xander laughed, "Yep! I'm just the chip boy, I bring joy wherever I go with my chips," he talked in a narrative voice. Could the man sound anymore nerdy? He couldn't help himself, he was the geek at school after all. He grabbed a couple more chips and stuffed them in his mouth, it was a good thing he bought the club size bag considering these chips were already halfway done but both of them had a big appetite so this wasn't a challenge at all. He was enjoying the chips with Faith and the walk wasn't so bad either, it wasn't humid outside or cold it only had a little bit of wind which he was liking at the moment, he should have brought a drink with him.
"Y'know the whole Angelus thing was brought up, she had kept it from me and this whole fight happened, I'm surprised I didn't get punched," he said with a laugh. "Willow was taking Buff's side on it but we worked it out and she isn't gonna hide anymore secrets...so she says," he said a little jokingly. He was a little bit serious as because well there was always going to be that one secret that a friend kept and he knew Buffy would keep whatever she was keeping at the moment and whatever it was hopefully it wasn't bad. "Hey, prison you get free meals, but then there's probably uncomfortable beds and you're with women only...not that I'm complaining," he said with a goofy grin. "I guess," he said with a sigh. "There was just something about Sunnydale that I enjoyed, maybe it was because it's where it all started," he scratched the back of his head. "But this life is a lot better since there's no hellmouth and it's less hectic," he told the girl. "Y'know Faith we never really had a chance to talk it's been good havin' you back in the fight," he said with a smile on his face. "You're a heck of a fighter and a...girl," he said with another Xander signature grin.

--------------------------------
Faith could not help but feel comfortable in Xander’s presence. There was something about him. Something that made her feel, okay. Like all the wrong things she had done didn’t really matter. Perhaps it was because of the energy he had or something like this. She simply liked him or something along those lines. As a friend of course. It was not like Faith had been known to deal with feelings or silly stuff like this. Beside it never ended well for anyone, as far as she knew most of them always ended up in pain or something like that. She had seen too many people deal with some heartbreak and she didn’t want to have to put herself trhought this. And anyway she was not really the girlfriend type.
“well you do have an interesting sense of humor.” She told him. Recently, Faith had started to wish that she had been more normal. She wanted to know what it was like to not have to worry about the end of the world and stuff like that. She wanted what it was like to live a normal life. Go to parties and not have to carry a stake around. Chances are she would get bored out of it but sometimes she kind of wanted the simple kind of life. She would not say no to something that would have been normal for just one day. Maybe she would just end up enjoying her life even more after that who knew. “But yes you are pretty funny at times.” Faith told Xander going back to their conversation instead of getting lost inside of her mind again.
When he spoke, Faith had a slight frown, did he really think he was just the chip boy or was this another one of his somewhat joke. She could not really tell. She sure hoped he didn’t think that it was all he was. "well you do bring chips but many other things." she told him vaguely. She didn't really want to get into the whole how awesome Xander is thing because well it kind of felt strange considering the past and all of that. But really Faith knew that Xander was part of the few good guys the world still had to offer. Faith took more chips wishing to know what he was really thinking but she figured that it was better sometimes not to know what people had in their mind.
‘’Buffy is a smart girl but she does not always think straight when Angel is involved.’’ Faith started. ‘’you know she didn’t mean to hurt you right? I guess it’s just that whenever Angel is around well she kind of loses her mind.’’ Faith smiled slightly. Faith knew that Buffy would always be one to keep secrets. Not because she wanted to lie to her friends but because it was easier this way for something. There were things that the people around you could never really understand it was only normal. And well the whole Buffy and Angel relationship was most likely something that Buffy and Xander would never really agree on. ‘’free meal but never really good food.’’ She explained. Most of the time to get your hands on something as good as chips you had to trade. And not having a lot of friends on the outside bringing her the goods, made it rather hard for Faith to trade. ‘’yeah prison full of girls, not my thing, girls are catty and insane.’’ She pointed out, but she was pretty sure that it was something that Xander already knew. ‘’yeah I guess I can understand what you mean, I have just never really had this. A place that was home.’’ She looked over at Xander and raised an eyebrow. ‘’you flirting with me Xander or just being nice?’’ she asked him coyly.

--------------------------------------------------Xander wasn't really sure what he was thinking about the girl right now. There was definitely something about Faith that made him feel attracted to her, and he wasn't sure if it was physical attractive (considering she was a hot girl and she looked great naked) or if it was an emotional attraction, it could even be both. It started back in high school when he was first introduced to her and then when he lost his virginity to her it grew, then she went all psycho but that attraction was still there but put to the back of his head. And then when she came back to Sunnydale he couldn't help but have that feeling come back even if he was technically still with Anya, it was just a whole confusing mess in his mind.
"Why thank you Faith," he said with a big grin on his face. He liked compliments, especially from someone who was as attractive as Faith. He knew he wouldn't be able to get a girl like her, if anything this was going to be like the Buffy situation or worse. The hot popular girl going for the loser? No, that wasn't going to happen, it wasn't a fairytale or anything so Xander would just think of her as a friend, even though that was pretty hard to do. He actually wondered what it would be like to be in a relationship with her, she was definitely a stubborn girl but it seemed like she'd be worth it. Okay, no more thinking about that or else Xander just may get a little too happy about it. He had to put his feelings on the back burner and go on with his life and pretend that they didn't exist, but would be able to do that? Probably not.
Xander didn't get what other things he could bring, he was just good for the food or eating other people's food. But people have told him that he was good at giving advice. "Maybe," he said with a shrug. "I'm just normal though, no slayer strength or witchy power but it's okay I've dealt with it all of high school and after," he said with a smile. It was hard to be the only 'normal' one out of his friends. He watched them grow more powerful and more intelligent while he stayed the same Xander that everyone knew and love, sure he grew a little bit stronger but not significantly and his intelligence...not really, he was intelligent in the supernatural part though since he had to read a lot of books to become a watcher. But other than that he was just an average man trying to get through life.
"Yeah, she does go a bit little loopy when he's around," he said with a laugh. "I'll let ya in on a little secret though, I don't hate Angel," he whispered. "Well, not anymore," he said honestly. Throughout the years Xander had realized that the things that Angel had done wasn't his fault, it was the demon inside him. Xander had to do a lot of thinking to finally forgive Angel for what he had done even though it wasn't him. He would never forgive Angelus though, no way in hell. Xander laughed, "I could only imagine all the fights in the prison but yeah you do have a home now and friends who care about you," he said with a smile. Xander immediately blushed a little bit but noticeable. "Um, well-I-mean-um-I-guess? A little bit of both?" He said a little embarrassingly. His mind was just confused on what to say. "Isn't it a quiet night out on patrol, oh look at that gravestone that's pretty," he said switching the subject even though the topic he picked was random and stupid. He couldn't help it though, he didn't know what to say to the girl, she just confused him and it seemed as if she was testing him.

Faith had sometimes wondered what it would be like to be in an actual relationship. She would never get into one because they were far too complicated but still she wondered what it would be life to have someone that was yours or something like that. Because that was wat it was all about being in a relationship right? Owning the person? Or maybe she had it all wrong maybe she just didn’t get the whole relationship part of things. For once having the opposite sex in her life was mostly just about getting to the itch she could not scratch and that was pretty much it for her. she had never really taken the time to see them in any other way than this.
When Xander thanked her Faith simply shrugged. ‘’no big.’’ It was just a small compliment it was not really that much of a big deal as far as she was concerned. But then again she had no idea how Xander saw her. she figured that to him she was just this friend who had left for the longest time and turned completely bad after that and now well she needed to make up for it and that was pretty much it. Maybe back when she had first been to Sunnydale something could have worked if she had not decided to go all psycho. That if she had not decided to simply use him and lose him the way she had done. But it was all part of the past and the best she could hope for from him was his friendship and she had that so really it was good when you really took the time to think about it.
Faith could not help but roll her eyes at him. ‘’seriously Xander after all this time you would think that you would have understood you don’t need to be a slayer or a witch to be helpful or a good person. Hell we all know that being a slayer does not make you a good person anyway.’’ She told him before poiting at herself. ‘’being normal like you said is not bad. It’s how you are as a person.’’ Yes this was rather deep for Faith and she really was not one to start to be all philosophe of things in life but there were moment where she would actually be a bit that way. ‘’and you are a watcher now. And that is a pretty big thing if I say so myself.” Faith told him with a small smile. “Not just anyone can be strong enough to take care of a slayer.” She said in an almost purring voice. What in the world was wrong with her? She was actually flirting with Xander.
“guess that is what love with do to ya. Not that I would know anything about that.” Faith raised an eyebrow when he said that he was going to tell her a secret and she could not help but slightly laugh when Xander said he didn’t really hate Angel. “Well well has Xander Harris gotten over his grudge on Angel. Something you don’t hear every day.” She smiled. “most likely for the best since Buffy will never let him go.” Faith did not really like to think about her time in prison. It was not that she was ashamed that she had been there. It was just that she didn’t like to think about the things she had done to end up there. But it was all part of the process of getting better forgiving yourself. Faith felt rather unconformable that the mention of friends who cared about her and loved her. She had never really had something like that before and she didn’t know how she felt about it. Actually she did, she was not used to it and she didn’t know what to do with this love and caring. A smirked appeared on Faith’s red lips when Xander said it was a bit of both. “Are you getting shy on me Xander.” Faith said as he mentioned the gravestone. “I mean seriously you wanna talk to me about gravestones…” Faith took a step to be slightly closer to him and simply watched him.

--------------------------------------------------Xander had missed the feeling of being in a relationship, the feeling of being in love and not wanting to quit at the relationship. He remembered when he was with Anya and sometimes he had wished he was single so he could do whatever he wanted and maybe that was bad of him to think or maybe she just wasn't the girl for him. Yes, he did love Anya greatly if anything but sometimes he wondered if there was anybody else out there for him and if not then he would be single forever and to be honest he could live with that if it came down to it. He was just hoping that there was a woman out there for him and she would accept him and his geeky ways.
Xander wasn't exactly sure what he felt for Faith. The girl was hot of course but he also liked her for her as well. She had a complex personality and she was just Faith which was what made him attracted to her. Faith wasn't like any other woman Xander had met. He had dated a preppy popular girl, liked both of his best friends and dated an ex demon yet all of them just weren't Faith. Xander knew that he shouldn't be thinking of any of this but he couldn't help but let his mind wonder and think about Faith that way. He knew his mind would get him into trouble one day but until that day happened he would be free to wonder as much as he wanted.
"Meh, I guess. I'd be pretty awesome to have slayer strength though," he said with a smile. It'd would have been great if there were guy slayers and Xander was one of them but nope just girls. "Wow, Faith didn't think you thought I was strong," he said with a big grin on his face. For some reason what Faith said made Xander really happy and he just couldn't stop grinning because of it. He needed stop and think about things, what could he possibly get out of liking Faith? To be used again or for her to reject him like the loser he was? Yeah, he didn't want that happening to him so maybe he would just hide his little crush forever, not even Buffy and Willow would find out, great now he was keeping secrets.
"I guess I know a thing or two about love," he said with a smile. "But both times I've sucked at it," he said with a laugh. First he cheated on Cordelia then he walked out of the alter when he was about to marry Anya so yeah Xander wasn't the perfect guy when it came to love, in fact he kind of had bad luck. "Yeah, I thought it was time to give deadboy a chance y'know, since I'm so nice," he said all confidently. "I'm not getting shy," he said while scratching his head. Faith had moved closer to him and he stepped back and ended up tripping backwards. "Ouch! Well, that hurt," he said as he got up. "So, patrolling? How's that going?" Trying to switch topics. Smooth Xander, he was horrible at flirting apparently. But he couldn't help it, it was just so hard to talk to a pretty girl! Besides, it had been a while since he had actually started liking someone.
"You look really pretty tonight," he said randomly and really awkwardly. There, he tried to flirt and was complimenting her so that must have been good enough. But Faith had probably heard a lot better than that, come on he could have came up with something a lot better. "I mean, well you look pretty every night and day of course," he said with a nervous laugh. God, Xander was awful at this, he needed some tips from someone, anyone.

Never having been in a relationship, Faith saw them as more of a burden than anything else really. But of course it was something she had always just assumed and well since she had yet to see a functional relationship it was hard for her to believe that it was actually true. Of course there had been a point in her life where she had though the same thing for friendship so it just proved that she could actually be wrong. But maybe once she saw an actual functional relationship she would start believe that it could be worth it. For other people not herself.
As she watched Xander, she wondered if perhaps there could have been something between them. He clearly was not the type of guy she usually went after but then again most of the time she went after jerks so it was only normal that she had not really seen him that way. Xander was too much of a nice guy to be with someone like her. He should have been with someone like Willow. That was had Willow not been gay of course. But yeah someone nice, someone who would treat him right, not someone like Faith, you had to be pretty insane to want to be with her, or so she though.
“oh you know how awesome it is to have slayer strength.” She told him with a grin. “I mean you have been on the fun receiving end of the slayer strength.” Faith was of course referring to that night they had spent together. “Xander you really need to start believing in yourself more. You clearly grew out of the awkward teenager phase.” He ha actually grew into his looks as well but she was not about to let him know this. Then he might start thinking she was attracted to him which she was. But then he could want more out of her. And really all she could give him was one more night or something like that. There was no way she could give him anything he really needed unless it was a night in the sheets.
“oh you didn’t suck at it.” She told him with a shrug. “I mean yes you did leave one of them at the altar and things didn’t work out with the other for some reason I can’t remember but remember that for a while it was actually great. It was not all awful it just had bad ending. And you are better at the whole love thing than I am.” Faith pointed out. She didn’t think that this needed much of an explanation really. “well Angel has done a few good deeds I mean he is kind of the reason why I’m actually still around.” Faith had begged Angel to kill her and instead he had picked her up and made things better for her, made her actually better. “you are not? So you cheek just turn red for no reason?” she had tried to reach over to him but instead he moved away and ended up tripping. Faith had a small laugh but there was a kind smile on her face to let him know that she was not making fun of him. “patrolling was getting kind of boring but thankfully you decided to show up. and make my night even more fun.”
When he told her she looked pretty, Faith thought it was one of the sweetest thing she had ever heard. She had of course been giving quite the few compliments in her life but this, being told she was pretty it was something else. “You really are flirting with me Xander.” Faith told him trying to get close to him. “if you are flirting with me why do you keep on running away from me?” she asked him.

--------------------------------------------------Xander for some reason just wanted to talk to Faith all night. He hadn't planned on seeing the girl at the cemetery but seeing her there and just talking to her, he felt like he needed to, he felt like he needed to get to know her on a personal level. Sure, he knew her as a friend and knew what she was like but he didn't know where she came from and what she had been through. He cared for the girl immensely and he wanted her to know that.He wouldn't ask her anything about her life now because he knew how stubborn she would be when he would ask her so he would probably have to wait awhile but he would ask her, his day will come.
Xander had felt something for Faith and he wasn't sure if Faith did but for some reason he felt like he could actually work at this relationship and would try anything to stay with her unlike his other relationships. Well he did try and work them out but gave up, but with Faith he felt like he would never give up. He obviously couldn't make those assumptions now since he wasn't dating the girl but he knew he would always try. Okay, Xander seriously needed to stop talking about it, it was like the man was whipped or something and he wasn't liking that. He had to see the girl as a friend but how? He would figure out a way but for now he would just be hit by Cupid's arrow.
Xander laughed nervously. It was true, he did witness slayer strength and man do they have stamina. It was probably the best sex he had. "That is true! That was a very good night, I wish we could have talked after though," he said with a slight frown. Now, Xander was just acting like a sensitive guy which he wasn't but he did wish that Faith didn't just throw him away right after, he would have loved to talk about stuff with her and just cuddle but that was the past. "Faith!" He said with a fake gasp. "You're giving me advice! Now that's a first," he said jokingly. "Thank you, I needed to hear that," he said with a smile. "Y'know, you should start believing in yourself also, I know you don't think you fit in here but you really do Faith," he knew she still felt like she wasn't the good girl. "You're not perfect and that's okay, that's what makes you an amazing woman," he told the slayer seriously.
Faith was right, all of them just had a bad ending which sucked but he was okay with the decisions he made even though they were immature and stupid. "Maybe I'll get it right this time...with whoever the girl is," he said wondering if it would be Faith and if not then maybe someone else, he didn't know. He was actually hoping he would get it right with Faith but he would have to see where it all went and he was okay with waiting. "And you'll find someone, you just have to let him in," he told the girl with a smile. He wasn't sure what kind of guy Faith wanted but Xander assumed some guy who was just really attractive and jock-like. "yeah, Angel's a really good guy," he liked Angel now, he was cool. "It's very cold outside, very," he said trying to cover up. "I'm not running...just tripping away," he said with a nervous laugh. "You know me though just always flirting, gosh there's a lot of stars out huh?" Switching the subject once again, this guy sucked.

Xander was a great guy, someone that Faith liked to be around but she knew that she should not get used to it. One day another girl would walk into their lives and would realised that Xander was a great guy and she would do everything she could to get her hands on him. When that happen Faith while she would still be his friends and still get to see him sometimes would not get to be as close to him as she was now. It meant that she would have to deal with it and maybe it was easy to not let herself get as close to him as this. Or the smart thing would be to take the time to actually think about this whole thing.
Faith knew that she needed to think what was next. About what she really felt. Was Xander just a friend, someone she liked to flirt with or was she actually ready to get vulnerable and open herself up to someone. The word vulnerable was enough to make her want to go insane and cry. She saw it as a weakness and didn’t want to be weak she could not be weak, she was a slayer! But she also knew that it was not smart of her to keep everything bottle up. she knew that it was during those moments that she just went insane. But still she did not like to talk about feeling and all that jazz. It had never been her thing.
Faith could not help but smirk as Xander laughed. She knew she had touch a sensitive cord when she had mentioned that night. But she could not help but raise an eyebrow when he not only agreed it had been a nice night but he had also wished they had talked after. “now you know I’m not really one to talk right?” Faith said to remind him. “And beside what would we have talked about I mean the girl you slept with that night clearly is not the same girl as I am now and well that Faith didn’t really talk but you knew that.” No that Faith had decided that it was a good idea to kick him out of her motel room right after taking his virginity. “But yeah I never said I was sorry for the way I treated you that night.” Faith said as she looked away from him. She didn’t think she could actually look him in the eye when she said those things. She hated to say she was sorry but she knew that right now it was something she needed to do. Faith chewed on her lower lip as he started to say that she was an amazing woman. “Yeah sure whatever.” She said trying to shrug it off but it did mean something to her she just could not let him see it.
“you will get it right and beside any girl would be lucky to have you anyway.” Faith told him as she finally stopped looking down at her shoes as if they were the most interesting things in the world. She went back and got her composure, the one that said she was strong and didn’t really care about a lot. Faith laughed. “yeah sure me in a relationship that is so not a disaster waiting to happen.” She told him sarcastically. She could barely be good enough to her friends what sad that she would be good enough to some guy. “is it cold outside?” she told him with a grin. “maybe I should just try and warm you up or somethin’?” Faith proposed in a flirty tone. “don’t trip away from me Xander, you know I won’t hurt you…too much…” Faith told him, Faith had always been quite the flirt and with Xander is was easy, comfortable.
