She walked out into the hallway, headed towards the parking lot as she was definitely ready for this day to be over. Her attention was broken by a blonde girl pushing another girl and screaming that she needed to watch where she was going. Upon closer examination, the blonde slayer realized extremely quickly that this girl was a vampire. It wasn’t a sunny day so this was entirely possible, but it still was extremely odd in her book. She rolled her eyes at the audacity of the girl in front of her. It was extremely clear that the girl had no idea who she was which was fine with her. It gave her a bit more leverage…though she would definitely not be doing anything about it in the hallway of a school. Not only was this a school that she really had no pull in being that she was the brand new counselor and hadn’t actually finished out a full day yet…but it was also a strange school. Well, the school in itself wasn’t strange…but the town was. People were way too aware here and so a student going missing from school? Yeah, not something she wanted to deal with at the moment. So she’d keep herself guarded…and make sure to keep an eye out on this girl. If one student disappeared from school…she’d know where to look first.

“Yeah, people are clumsy. You don’t have to be rude about it.” She told her, authority leaking out of her voice. She remembered how she hated being the authority figure at one time. There were times she still felt weird about giving orders to people in a situation that wasn’t life or death. As the slayer, she was used to giving orders and having them be followed. The people around her (well, most of them) knew to follow her orders because she was trying to keep them alive. However in a school setting where students looked at their teachers and their elders like they were beneath them, she sometimes still felt weird about it.

However, she reminded herself, this girl standing in front of her was most definitely a vampire. She was a cocky one at that and that was something that could either be a very good thing since it meant she would mess up in her cockiness…or it could be a very bad thing which meant that she had been around for a lot of years. She couldn’t tell which category this girl fell into yet…but she would definitely be keeping an eye out.

“So I think you should check the attitude and head to class instead of acting like your better than everyone else. Okay?” She asked, a bit sarcastically. Luckily the vampire realized that it was out of luck and headed away to which the blonde slayer was extremely grateful for, not wanting to have to say in the middle of a crowded school. Before she could say another word her cell phone rang. Picking it up without looking she was surprised to hear Kathy’s voice, though that didn’t mean she wasn’t glad. Hearing what she wanted the told the young vampire she’d meet her in twenty minutes before going back towards the parking lot, glad that she and the girl she had come to care about as a daughter would have the chance to spend an evening together.

She heard a commotion going up upstairs but didn’t want to interfere. It sounded as if two girls were fighting but she couldn’t hear exactly what they were saying. She didn’t know what was going on and it killed her! She hated being weak! Okay, so she wasn’t weak so much as scared. She had the same strength that a newborn vampire would, which was still greater than a human but not nearly enough to go against some of the vampires that she had seen over the years.

She listened intently but nothing came from it so she stopped, instead resuming her pacing. Every once in awhile someone would come in her room and ask her if she had heard anything but so far nothing. Why everyone all of a sudden thought she would know or hear something she wasn’t sure but it didn't matter. She didn't know what was going on and neither did anyone else it seemed as she heard a couple people on the main floor talking about who was arguing and what about. She knew she was being noisy but really what else did she have to do? No one was home that she really was comfortable with so she had been in the basement for two days doing nothing but reading, talking online and sleeping.

FINALLY! She thought as she heard the yelling stop. She quickly slipped her shoes on, having changed out of the need to do something besides pace earlier in the evening before scrambling up the stairs, apparently not having gone fast enough since whatever was causing the commotion had retreated. "What happened?" She demanded of the people in the living room.

Apparently it had been nothing of importance and she pouted for good measure while stomping into the kitchen. She hated it when Buffy was gone. She wanted so badly to spend time with her but she was at work and she wasn’t really comfortable with anyone else. Luckily for her the timer on the oven beeped signaling that school was out and she grinned. She pulled out her cell phone and called the number she knew by heart, waiting until she heard the familiar voice before asking if she wanted to go shopping. She was glad when she agreed to come and get her and hung up, running downstairs to grab her bag before speeding back upstairs, this time walking out the door.

She had twenty minutes to wait but she’d rather wait outside than listen to the arguing that had started back up inside.

After sliding her phone back in her pocket she jumped in the car, driving towards her apartment so she could change clothes. She refused to walk around the mall in heels, no matter what Vogue said was the style anymore. She pulled into her designated parking spot and shut off her car, taking the stairs two at a time before running into her apartment. She had forgotten to tell Kathy that she was stopping at home to change before they had hung up so she didn’t want her to have to wait too long. It may not have mattered to some but it did matter to her.

Stripping out of her dress and heels she quickly slid on a pair of light colored skinny jeans and a white tank top. Over the tank top she slid on a black v-neck sweater, pulling her necklace out of it and allowing it to fall where it should. Sliding on a pair of black buckled flats that she didn't like much but they were one of the most comfortable shoes that she owned she looked around for a moment before her eyes lit up. She quickly dumped her purse onto her bed, pulling out her wallet to which she pulled out her driver's license and credit card. Picking up her clutch that was on the dresser she slid everything into it including her money, ID, and cell phone. Making sure she had everything she rushed back towards her car, having gotten ready in record time.

It didn't take her long to make her way to the boarding house yet even so she saw Kathy sitting on the steps of the house. She smiled when the young girl saw her and motioned with her hand to come on. She was glad that it was an overcast day otherwise they would have had to wait and neither of them had much patience to wait for anything, let alone shopping. She grinned as she watched the young girl skip towards her before opening the car and sliding in. "Hey kiddo." She smiled, waiting for her to close the door and get her seat belt on. "You ready?"

Waiting for the affirmative she smirked when she got it. "I don't know about you but I am ready to shop. My credit card is completely paid off and that is completely unacceptable." She told her with a wink, laughing with the young vampire before making her way towards the mall, feeling more light than she had in weeks.

This was just what she needed, a day with family. And that was what Kathy was, she was her family. They may not have been blood related but they were as close as two people could get without actually being related. She loved her friends and of course she loved Dawn, but Kathy was different. She was a friend, a sister, and a daughter all rolled into one. She was someone that Buffy vowed numerous times to protect and she would do her damndest to make sure that she kept that vow.

She was an eleven year old both in body and at heart so she had never been the most patient person in the world. Anyone who knew her (hell as a human or as a vampire) could attest to the fact that she couldn’t sit still if her life depended on it. She hated waiting inside for the sun to set so that she could leave her house, especially since as she often remembered once outside that she was petrified of the dark if something would happen and she would be alone. If there was one thing that Kathy hated, it was being alone in the dark.

Luckily it didn’t take long before she heard the sounds of an approaching car. She stood up upon seeing Buffy drive up in the rented SUV with a grin on her face. She skipped happily down the side walk and made her way into the passenger seat, sliding her seat belt over her body and into the buckle next to her. She never really understood Buffy’s obsession with her wearing her seatbelt since it wasn’t as if a car accident was going to kill her unless they ran into wood for some unknown reason but then again she didn’t understand Buffy’s obsession with half the things that she did and said so she rarely questioned it.

"Ready Ready" She told her happily, excited for the evening of shopping. Both she and Buffy had talked numerous times recently about going shopping but neither had the time or the patience to deal with the crowds it seemed so she was glad they were finally getting to go. "I have two credit cards and both of them are in some desperate need of some damage." She responded with a giddy smile, excited to not only spend some hard earned money (being a writer had its perks) but also to be spending time with the woman that she saw as her older sister and mother wrapped into one.

She waited until Buffy had made her way onto the highway before asking her the burning question. "So are we going to the Outlet Mall in Williamsburg you were telling me about?" She asked in barely hidden excitement as she had wanted to go but hadn't had the time or anyone to go with her. She hated shopping by herself. The mall itself had over 135 stores and large name brands such as Burberry, Coach, Dooney & Bourke and Polo. She needed bags, shoes, and anything else she wanted. She also wanted to stop and get some stuff for her room to make it more hers...something she still hadn't done yet.

She was glad that she could spend time with the little vampire who had stolen her heart the moment she looked at her with eyes so much like Angel’s only in a deep blue rather than the deep brown she was accustomed to. It was strange to see so much of her love in the face and person of this little tiny girl and yet for some reason it fit…another thing that he couldn’t analyze yet a part of her wanted to badly. She had always wondered what a child of hers and Angel’s would look like, though she had learned early on that it would never happen. It was one of the reasons (one of the many) that she was so hurt by the Connor revelation.

“Yep, heading to the outlet mall.” She told her as they pulled into said parking lot. She drove around for a few moments before seeing a store that made her eyes light up. She looked over at Kathy and laughed at the almost drool like look that the young girl had in her eyes. Yes, she knew that this was probably a bit ridiculous to start at this particular store but oh well, what could she say, when she said she wanted to shop she meant it.

Parking the SUV she got out, slipping the keys into the small clutch that she had brought and waiting for Kathy to join her. When she did she grinned down. “Ready to spend way too much money?” She asked her as they walked into the Sunglass Hut outlet. She and Kathy had talked one day about their love for sunglasses. Both had way too many pairs to date and it seemed as if anytime they saw one another they were wearing a different pair. She grinned as she saw the sign that said ‘Maui Jim brand sunglasses Buy One Get One 50% off.’ See, this was why she loved outlet malls, they always had killer sales.

Noting that Kathy ran right up to the Gucci sunglasses she made her way towards the Maui Jim’s…considering buying a couple pair as extremely early Christmas or Birthday presents for next year. She quickly found a pair that she knew would look good on Xander, looking at the price and nodding in happiness. They were under $150 which meant that if she bought another pair it would cost her less than what one pair at Macy’s for one pair. The sunglasses she picked out for Xander were simple but classy and yet sporty all at the same time. The next pair she found were for Willow. They were fairly similar to the ones she picked out for Xander yet they had purple frames instead of black. Happy with her findings she walked over to Kathy with a smile. “What did you find?” She asked, interested to see what the look of amusement on the young vampire’s face was all about.

She was glad that she and Buffy were having a girl’s day. She had been spending way too much time alone since she had been worried about her brother who hadn’t been back for much longer than she had anticipated. She hadn’t even gotten to say goodbye though she wasn’t mad since Buffy had told her many times that she hadn’t given him the opportunity to go home before sending him off with part of Glory. She had been a little upset with Buffy about it but she had apologized so Kathy had forgiven her, not one to hold grudges for the most part.

She walked through the outlet mall until Buffy had found the store she wanted, and Kathy was quite alright with it being that it was the Sunglass Hut and Kathy could spend a lot of money on sunglasses. She bounced directly over to the Gucci sunglasses, browsing through them happily. The first pair that she saw she knew she had to buy for Anthony. He had been looking all over the place for the Mask sunglasses with web detail since they had found them online so she knew he would be extremely excited. The website had been sold out as had several of the stores he had searched so she quickly picked them up, continuing to look around. She grinned when she saw the exact same glasses yet with a pink frame and picked them up as well. The pink frames would annoy Anthony greatly as he hated the color but she would find it highly amusing to match him.

She checked over to see if Buffy was done yet but it seemed as if she was still looking so she went back to looking as well. Her eyes came upon another pair of pink frames, these were more rounded and she couldn’t decide if she liked them. She stared at the frames for a little longer before deciding she liked them enough to buy them. She figured they were light enough that during the non-sunny days (the only days she could go out) she could still wear them. Many people would probably ask why she always bought sunglasses since she didn’t actually go out into the sun however she wore them on top of her head as a head band rather than on her face unless the lenses were very lightly tinted.

She heard Buffy’s voice from behind her and grinned as she turned around. “ these for Anthony, these to mess with Anthony as he hates pink but he knows I’ll wear them. And these for me.” She told her as she walked up to pay for her purchases. Once done she looked up at the blond girl. “So where too now?” She asked politely, giving the older girl the opportunity to be in charge. She preferred following to leading.

She smiled at Kathy’s purchases before waiting for her to check out. Once the young girl was done she led the way, knowing that Kathy preferred to follow the leader so to speak than to speak up for herself. She was working on that by giving the young vampire choices between certain things, wanting her to have more confidence in herself. She knew that Kathy put up a good act when it came to confidence but she was still extremely clingy when it came to her older brother or Buffy herself. The blonde slayer didn’t mind this but she knew that it wasn’t healthy so she was working on it…though she’d admit to loving having the young vampire around.

Walking down the hallway she felt Kathy stop and she did the same, turning back to look at her. She watched as Kathy looked intently in the window display so she did the same, noticing that she was looking at the Fossil store. She had never been a huge fan of Fossil but by the look on the brunette’s face it was obvious she wanted to go in but wouldn’t ask. “Let’s browse.” She told her and nodded towards the store. That seemed to be all the motivation the young girl needed as she skipped towards the store with a huge grin on her face. Buffy laughed with a fond smile and followed her in, going to look at the jewelry. After all, a girl couldn’t ever have too much jewelry.

Looking in the case she saw a leather rope bracelet with a butterfly charm. She laughed as she remembered that Amy, one of the slayers that had taken over North Carolina, her birthday was in a couple of weeks and she had a large obsession with butterflies. She remembered when she had found out due to the sparring with her. She had a huge back tattoo with over twenty multi colored butterflies. Signaling to the woman behind the counter she asked if she could have the butterfly bracelet and then requested to see if they had a necklace to match. She smiled when she saw it since it was dainty and still cute, just like Amy was. She quickly paid for the bracelet as well as the butterfly necklace and went to the next counter to see if she could find anything else.

It didn't take long for a bracelet to stand out to her. It was a a woven aqua bracelet with square metal beads on it. She wasn't sure what about it attracted her to it but she felt like it was something that Dawn would like so she picked it up, this one wasn't behind a counter. After picking it up she found a matching one, this one though was in a white and pink color. She picked it up as well, making sure that Kathy couldn't see her.

The last thing she found that stood out to her was a necklace and bracelet set. It was plain but pretty in it's own way. The necklace was a black leather cord with a round pendent. The bracelet was a silver leather cord with the same round pendent. She figured between her, Dawn, Kathy, Willow, Faith and Cordelia that one of them would like it. It didn't hurt that the set was on sale for $24. Purchasing her items she slid the link bracelet into her bag from sunglass hut before allowing the rest of them to be placed in the Fossil bag before turning around and seeing Kathy at another counter checking out. She walked over and waited, smiling when the young girl finished. “So, what did you get?”

She loved Fossil! She wasn’t really sure why she liked the store so much since it didn’t often carry the bright colors that she tended to prefer but something about it just made her drool. She loved the jewelry, the bags, really everything! She could tell by the look on Buffy’s face that she didn’t have a huge love for the store but it seemed as if she was willing to suffer through it for Kathy which made her all the more happy. She liked when people did things for others that they didn’t really like because it meant that they cared. Just like Kathy would be more than happy to go to any other store for Buffy just because she cared about her.

She kept Buffy in her sights as she made her way to the jewelry, seemingly going to stay there. Kathy went her own way at that time, going towards the wall of tech stuff that was on the wall. She browsed quickly and squinted her nose up at them, not finding any of them that she just had to have. She knew that while some bags were cute in dark colors, that phone cases and laptop cases were not. She shook her head and quickly made her way over to the wall of bags that were on display, her eyes lighting up as she did.

She found something she was definitely buying. It was a change purse that was hot pink that said ‘Change is Good.’ The change purse would be amusing to both Anthony and AJ since both of them always laughed at her since she hated change of all kinds. It would be more a joke than anything but it was cute and pink! Next to the change purse she found a clutch that was made for an iPad but she liked it so she put that in her basket as well. The clutch wasn’t something she would normally buy but she figured that if she didn’t end up using it that maybe Willow or one of the other girls would?

She looked briefly at the other purses but didn’t see any she just had to have, the same went for the clothing as well. She was a little disappointed in the Fossil store but she was still happy with her purchases. She quickly made her way to another register where she handed over her credit card. As the cashier was ringing her out she heard Buffy ask her what she had gotten. “A change purse and a weird clutch thing was cute. What about you?” After hearing about Buffy’s purchases she laughed. She signed her receipt and took her credit card back before following Buffy out the door. “Want to go to Gap?” She asked, pointing to The Gap that was right next to the Fossil store.

She couldn’t help but laugh when Kathy told her what she bought. It was clear that neither of them had anything particular that they were desperate to buy, they were just shopping to shop, something that she knew they both needed and deserved. She was glad that the young girl seemed to have gotten her mind off of her older brother who still hadn’t come back yet and while she knew that the young vampire was worried it was clear that she was having fun…something that Buffy herself was proud to say that she had a hand in. She knew that Angel wouldn’t want Kathy to be worried the entire time so she was doing her best to take her mind off of it.

“Sure, let’s go.” She told her with a grin, following the brunette into the store. Buffy went over and looked at the jeans first, figuring it wouldn’t hurt her to buy a few more pairs. She also made a mental note to pick up a couple more pair of pants for work since she would have to wear pants all year around. This wasn’t a department policy but a personal one. She had worn a few dresses to work and while she still would if there was a meeting or something afterward, but she had learned her lesson to not do so too often. It seemed as if teenage boys had not matured any since she was in high school meaning that they tended to spend more time staring at her legs than listening to her advice, something that annoyed her greatly.

She found a pair of dark blue work pants and was relieved to find that they had them in petite. She may not be insanely short like some others but she was still fairly short meaning that she either had to find pants short enough or have them hemmed, which ended up costing more than spending a little extra money to buy shorter pants. She rifled through the pants that were hanging and found the same pair but in khaki to which she picked up as well. She also found a pair of black work pants that seemed to be a different style though she found that she almost liked them better, as well as a pair of dark grey ones that matched the black ones.

Seeing that Kathy was still browsing she made her way into the men’s section to see if there was anything that she could find that screamed out at her for one of the guys. She found a bunch of t-shirts and quickly pulled out a black one, a dark blue one, and a white one for Angel. He was one of the pickiest people when it came to clothes but at least these would be ones that he could wear to bed. Hell if he didn’t wear them then she’d wear them to bed.

She continued to look, finding a blue and gray striped polo shirt for Xander, a Star Trek shirt for Andrew, a navy blue sweater, a matchingblack sweater for Angel, and a black blazer that she would promise sexual favors to Angel in order to get him to wear. Figuring she had enough she walked over to where Kathy was still looking, laughing at the wide eyed look she gave her and shrugged. “A bunch of this is for your brother.” She told her, putting all of her things into the cart that she had grabbed when they first walked in. “So what are you looking at?”

It seemed as if Buffy had bought a whole new wardrobe for her brother, or at least more than she was used to seeing someone buy for him. It amused her greatly since she knew that her brother would not appreciate being shopped for, he never did. Oh he’d pretend that he was thankful but in his mind he would be complaining since he was so particular about the clothing that he wore. She hadn’t known his vampire self for very long but even she had noticed these little quirks about him so she assumed that Buffy did as well. A glint in the blond girl’s eyes told her that she knew exactly what she was doing and she was going to have fun with it.

Kathy shook her head before holding up the Pink Striped T-Shirt to get the other woman’s opinion on. “What do you think?” She asked, still not being able to decide if she liked the shirt or not. Seeing the smile and the nod on Buffy’s face she shrugged and put it in the cart along with Buffy’s things, knowing they’d definitely be able to figure out who’s was who’s.

She had wanted to ask Buffy something for a while now but she couldn’t figure out how to do so. Maybe being here would help her? “Hey Buffy?” She asked, her voice falling back into the tiny young child voice rather than the more adult one that she had taken on for most of the afternoon. “I would ask Angel but I know what he’d say so I was wondering, would you maybe help me learn how to fight?” She asked, her eyes down on the ground rather than looking up at the girl who she was speaking too. “I know that I won’t ever be as good as you or anything but I hate that I can’t do anything other than run and hide.” She told her, her voice portraying how sad she was.

Hearing the blond girl’s agreement she looked up and grinned before she dragged her over to the work out clothing, picking out a couple different things that she liked. She had a few pairs of work out pants, well, really they were Yoga pants but they were cute and for the most part they were pink. However she wanted something that Buffy agreed was good to work out in. She spoke with her for a couple more minutes before she picked out a Purple Long Sleeve Shirt that she and Buffy couldn’t actually decide if it was purple or blue. She also picked out a Pink Razor Back Tank Top and a hair of Black Work Out Pants to go with both shirts. Then she followed Buffy up to the register in order to pay for their items, feeling as if a weight had been lifted off of her shoulders.

It was clear that Kathy had something on her mind which was the reason that Buffy stood by silently waiting for her to ask whatever it was that she wanted to know. What came out wasn’t something that Buffy had expected yet it was something that she was more than glad to do. She knew that Angel would probably not be all happy go lucky about knowing that she was going to teach his baby sister how to fight however once he calmed down she hoped that he would see that it was a good thing that she would know how to protect herself if something were to happen where she had to.

She laughed when Kathy got excited about picking out work out clothing, knowing that she was the same freaking way. Once they got to the register Buffy quickly took the things that Kathy had picked up and put it with her own things. She held up her hand when the young girl tried to protest. “I’m teaching you how to fight, so let me do this. Okay?” She asked, and was glad when the little vampire conceded. She wanted to take care of her in some way even though she knew she didn’t need anyone too. She hadn’t ever had the close relationship with Dawn that she had with Kathy and she liked it, while at the same time felt a bit guilty for not treating her younger sister this way until she was too old to actually need it.

Once they had checked out the two walked out and Buffy pointed to the Samsonite store. “My luggage got trashed on the move from Rome to Richmond. Mind if we stop in?” She asked, knowing that if she bought anything they’d have to make a run to the car to put everything in it as it would look too odd for the two of them, both tiny in their own ways, to be carrying around anymore bags than they already were.
Once inside it didn’t take her long to find the set that she wanted. She quickly grabbed a salesman and bought a dark purple 21 inch spinner suitcase, and matching 25 inch spinner luggage and 29 inch spinner suitcase. She wasn’t someone who usually had things that were purple however pink definitely wasn’t her color, black and blue were too common and green she detested, so it settled on purple to be the color. Plus it was dark enough so that stains wouldn’t show while still having enough color to stand out.

Once she paid for her things she turned to Kathy, not surprised that she had found something as well. She laughed and waited, and once both were finished she headed out of the store. “Let’s go drop this stuff off in the car that way we also know how much more we can buy before we don’t have any more room for us.” She told her with a laugh, leading the way back to the parking lot.

It had been a long time since someone wanted to actually do something for her that wasn’t Anthony or AJ. She loved both men, both were two of her only friends, however it was nice to have someone else who wasn’t them want to do something for her. This wasn’t to say that she didn’t try to talk Buffy out of it because she did. She had her own money and had bought her own things for the entirety of her vampire life however it was clear that Buffy was even more stubborn than Kathy so she let it go.

Kathy followed Buffy into the luggage store, darting quickly across towards the luggage that was pink. She really didn't need new luggage however she loved what she saw, especially since it was pink, new, and on sale. She grabbed a set that was a spinner set that came with a 24", a 26" and a 28" suitcase. She waited until Buffy was done and laughed at the look on her face when she realized that she had found something as well. Kathy was someone that would buy a lot of unnecessary stuff should she find something she liked, especially if it was pink.

Her eyes lit up when Buffy suggested that they put everything in the car. She had an idea to combine space. It didn't take them long to make it to the car and once the trunk was open she held out her hand. "Hang on a second, I have an idea." She told her before setting the largest of her suitcases on the bottom and then unzipping it. Once it was open she put all of her bags inside and then zipped it back up. The medium sized suitcase was next as she unzipped that one and then put the smaller one inside it. "See, now we have more room than we would have." She told her with a giggle and waited for Buffy to copy her actions.

Once the two were settled she waited for Buffy to lock the car back up before skipping next to her as they walked back into the mall. “So I don’t know about you but I think we need to do some shopping for the boys.” She told her with a wicked grin. “I know you bought my brother a couple things but I want to buy him some stuff too. I also want to buy Spike something. Have any ideas on what they’d like?” She asked innocently, though inside she was thinking evil thoughts. She wondered how much she could get away with upgrading Angel and Spike’s wardrobes before they put a stop to it.

She laughed at Kathy as her eyes lit up with an idea and watched silently as she put everything into different spaces. She nodded in approval and followed her lead, putting her bags in the largest suitcase and then setting the smaller one inside the medium one. She wasn’t sure why she hadn’t thought of that but she was okay with it since Kathy had which meant they had a lot more room than she had anticipated when they had been making their way towards the car. Sure she had an SUV but that didn’t mean that they had an indispensable amount of room, so she was glad to see that they had about half the trunk left (if they put bags on top of the suitcases) plus the whole back seat.

It seemed that the two of them liked to shop more than either had really realized so they would probably need all the room they could get.

She walked at a normal pace as Kathy skipped beside her back towards the mall. It didn’t take them long before they were right in front of the Samsonite store that they had just left but Buffy’s eyes lit up when she saw what was across the way. “I so know where we are going next.” She told the young girl and pointed to the ‘Bath and Body Works’ store that was having their yellow sale. The yellow sale was where everything was between $3 and $5 and even back in Sunnydale Buffy would make the two hour trip to Los Angeles every year for it.

Buffy led the way and as soon as they walked in she immediately went over and grabbed two baskets, handing one to Kathy. “I’m paying in here and before you complain hear me out.” She told her, interpreting the look on the young vampire’s face. “We are stocking up for the whole house. A lot of the newer potentials that come here they don’t have a lot or if they do they ship it straight to Rome. We go through lotion and such like its water…so we have to stock up. So anything you want just put in your basket and make a mental note of what’s yours. I’m doing the same thing. However it’ll be cheaper and easier since if it’s not on sale it’s on promo Buy 3 Get 3 and that way we can just combine it all.” She told her and was relieved to see the young girls’ nod. She wasn’t surprised that Kathy wasn’t used to people doing things for her, but Buffy would do what she could to change that.

Buffy turned on her heal and headed towards the body cream which was what they used the most of other than shower gel. She knew that most girls had different tastes which led to a lot of interesting discussions. She quickly picked 2 Honeysuckle Rome body creams, 2 Venice Dolce Berry body creams, 2 Capri Seaside Citrus body creams from the newer scents. She wasn’t quite sure what she thought of them however she knew that the girls would at least get a kick out of the names. She then went to the summer scents that had been out the year before, knowing that many of the girls loved these. She picked out 3 Rio Rumberry body creams, 3 Bali Mango body creams, and 3 Aruba Coconut body creams. Walking over to the classic scents she grimaced when she saw the Warm Vanilla Sugar as it was way too sweet for her but she went ahead and put one in, knowing that a lot of people liked it.

She quickly grabbed another basket, having already almost filled hers up and put in 5 Sweet Pea body creams. It was one of the most classic of scents and most of the girls liked it, which was the reason she always bought quite a bit extra. The last scent she bought was 3 Cucumber Melon body creams, though those were for Willow. She knew Willow loved the scent so she figured it would be a nice thing to do.
Walking over to Kathy she laughed when she saw the young girl filled with about as many bottles as she had gotten. “I’m assuming it was a good thing that we stayed on opposite sides of the store?” She asked with another laugh.

Okay, so she waited until Buffy’s back was turned but she still did it. She wasn’t used to people paying for things for her but she did understand Buffy’s reasoning which was the only reason she planned on listening. Not that she wouldn’t get her back because Kathy already had plans to buy Buffy quite a few things the next time she went shopping either by herself or with someone else to make up for everything that Buffy had bought for her tonight, however what she didn’t know wouldn’t hurt her so she kept her mouth shut, planning internally.

She grabbed two baskets off the bat only because she knew that she loved this store just as much as any other girl did and she often tended to go a little overboard. Right off the bat she grabbed her own favorite scents, just added a couple extras seeing as most girls liked them as well. Black Raspberry Vanilla in which she picked up three bottles, Be Enchanted in which she picked up three bottles, and Forever Red in which she picked up three bottles. She then picked up two bottles each of Japaenese Cherry Blossom, Twilight Woods and Country Apple.

She looked over once she had picked up the body creams and noticed that Buffy had barely moved so she figured she would go ahead and grab the shower gel, to which she briefly thought about asking if she could just buy everything and not tell Buffy. Unfortunately they were cleaned out of a lot since it was such a huge sale meaning that Kathy had to scour the store and was forced to buy every shower gel they had left.
Walking through the store anytime she saw a shower gel she threw it in her bag, knowing that the girls at the boarding house went through this more than anything else. This equaled out to a lot of different scents, some of which she wasn't sure if anyone would like but figured it was better than nothing.

She heard Buffy’s voice then and grinned. “Well, we may want to get some candles too. They are on sale as well and we all know that the girls like candles.” She told her before her face turned worried. “Then again, should we do that seeing as we do have at least two vampires staying in the house?” She asked, not liking the thought of waking up to a burning house.

Buffy nodded at Kathy’s suggestion. “Yeah, it’s not a bad idea to have excess candles around the house. And I promise the girls will be careful. They know better than to mess with you or Angel…they’d have me to deal with and they really don’t want that.” She told her, her smile growing slightly evil. She knew that most of the girls had heard about her temper either from her sister, her friends, or the girls who had made it through Sunnydale. It was no surprise to anyone however when she became almost insanely protective of Angel and Kathy, not that Angel needed her protection but that was completely beside the point.

She led the young vampire towards the candles and grabbed another bag for either of them. "The larger ones are the ones we want though a few smaller ones aren't going to hurt either. I'd just prefer the bigger ones since they are more easily seen which means less chance of someone getting hurt." She informed her. "Go crazy with them because as you can see they are all $5 and I can tell you they are usually $20... so stock up while they are on sale." She stated with a laugh before motioning to the other end of the candle wall. "I'll start down there, you start up here, and we’ll meet in the middle."

Heading towards the end of the wall that she had pointed at she was glad to see that the scents that she preferred hadn’t been picked through as much, though it did look like they had restocked fairly recently on candles due to the boxes she could see from where she stood that were empty behind the counter. Buffy definitely preferred the summery scents in the house rather than the Christmassy or wintery scents that some did. She didn’t know why but she felt as if they smelled better, fresher, and stronger.

Her favorite scent was the first one she grabbed, and she knew it was excessive but she grabbed every one they had, which equaled out to 6 candles. Pineapple Mango was a scent that her mother used to burn in their house back in Sunnydale and she knew that both she and Dawn had missed it. She found several smaller Pineapple Mango candles as well, counting seven of them (that were $1.25 a piece) so she threw those in her bag as well, making a mental note to split them with Dawn. Moving along she picked up three Carribbean Escape candles, four Strawberry candles, four Bahama Fizz candles, and two Island Colada candles before she met Kathy in the middle.

“Alright, what did you get?” She asked with a grin, finding it amusing that Kathy was holding all that she was without seemingly being annoyed by the extra weight. She knew that she and Kathy would have to take the items they had purchased directly to the car as to not draw any excess attention to them once again. This was getting to be a work out of it’s own.
