----------------------- ----------------------- Klaus couldn’t believe what almost happened to Elena. He didn’t take that much blood from her so how did she almost die. He didn’t pay attention to Elena much because he knew he wasn’t taking that much from her. If it hadn’t been for Caroline coming Elena, and his only way to make hybrids, would have died. Klaus didn’t like that. So he wondered who messed Elena up. Was it one of his siblings who were trying to get back at him? Maybe it was only because she didn’t eat anything before he started taking her blood. Whatever the reason was Klaus wasn’t happy. Elena had almost died and now she had this new vampire’s blood in her system. What was her name, Sophia or something? He didn’t know but he knew Damon was fond of her. So if Rebekah or anything else happened to Elena she would become a vampire and Klaus would lose his only way to make hybrids. He had to make sure that nothing happened to Elena Gilbert.
He barked orders to his hybrids for them to watch her. Trouble seemed to be around that girl far too much. He had to be careful when he took blood from Elena from now on. Too much was counting on her health. Klaus paced around the room where he had been taking blood from Elena the other day. He sipped whiskey from his glass and sighed trying to figure out what went wrong the other day. Elena shouldn’t have been affected like she was from the amount of blood he had taken. He knew that was a safe amount because he had taken that much from her before so he just couldn’t figure out what went wrong. Caroline was also really upset over this. He didn’t think she would ever forgive after what almost happened to Elena. It wasn’t his fault though but she would never see it that way.
He threw his glass into the roaring fire in the fireplace. He stormed out of the house and went into town. Klaus needed to get out of Mystic Falls for a while but to where. He decided it didn’t matter, that he didn’t care. He would just run in a direction and stop whenever and see where he was at. That is exactly what Klaus did. He picked a direction and ran. He ran over Wickery Bridge and headed into Richmond, Virginia. He kept running not ready to stop just yet. Running cleared his head which helped him think easier. Klaus already was further ahead in thinking than everyone in Mystic Falls and probably in this town as well and yet he couldn’t figure out what happened with Elena. That was a constant pain to him as he hated it when there was something that he had trouble figuring out because it didn’t happen often.
He finally stopped running somewhere in Richmond. He took a deep unneeded breathe and looked around. He had never been to Richmond because it held no interest for him really. He started walking around acting like he was looking around. Already he was bored. He needed some entertainment and a snack. He saw a pretty blond and smiled. He went over to her and compelled her to come with him. He brought her to an alley way then held her up against the cold stone wall as he bite into her neck and started to drain her of her blood. He wouldn’t kill this young woman but he would compel her to forget him after he was done.

----------------------- ----------------------- Caroline sat in her room staring blankly at the text book in front of her. Seriously? When would one need to know about chemistry when it came to the real world. No one. It was never used, you never sat there making something out of nothing, finding out what two chemicals did to each other. She rolled her eyes. She had only gotten half way through her homework and that was the stuff she had done in class when she wasn't completely distracted. Everything was spinning out of control in her life at the moment and she just wanted it all to calm down. She looked down once more at her text book and her homework. She had already highlighted all the chemicals that she was doing it on and yet she couldn't seem to finish writing the damn report on it. How do you put science into a freaking english essay? She knew that now she was a vampire she would be doomed to repeat high school over and over again.
Rolling her eyes she shut the book slamming it shut. She placed her pen into her own text book so she could finish it later. It was a Friday night and no one wanted to be at home doing homework on a Friday. She closed that book also and went downstairs to see if her mom had left a note regarding whether or not she was to be expected home that night. There was one on the answering machine saying she was staying the night at the station. Caroline rolled her eyes and shook her head. It was a good job she didn't eat otherwise she would starve with her crappy cooking skills. Going into the garage she grabbed out a bag of blood. She figured she could use it after all the drama that had been happening as of recently. Elena had been badly effected by something but Caroline didn't even know what. She had to be fed vampire blood to keep her sustained. Skipping back upstairs to her room she ripped open the top of the bag.
Feeding herself she grabbed her jacket and upended the blood bag. Once it was finished she placed it into the bin and grabbed her car keys. She had to get out of Mystic Falls. Even if it was only for an afternoon and an evening. Getting a coffee or something somewhere close by could help her mood. The next town over was Richmond and she figured it was a good place to start. She got into her car and didn't bother to leave her mother a note. She could text her if anything came up. She swung out of her drive and started driving towards the next town over. She turned her Ipod on and figured that a bit of music could always cheer her up. She ended up having Taylor Swift playing, always something to lighten the mood. She started tapping her fingers on the steering wheel as she drove out of Mystic Falls. She was already in a better mood just by getting out of her small home town. It was an awesome place and everything but sometimes an escape is in order.
Entering the small town or not as as small as Mystic Falls named Richmond she smiled as she started driving a little slower taking in the sights. She had been here a few times before and hadn't minded it back then. She tried to remember where she had gotten that really good coffee. She figured she could park up and walk there no matter what happened. Parking up she started walking down the street. There were a few shops that held her interest along the way but more than anything she was searching out a coffee shop. She needed to not worry about her best friend's life right now or the state of her love life because Caroline could only do so much. Her own love life was hectic enough without having to add with the stress of someone elses. Catching a sniff of coffee she headed in that direction. There was a small line and she placed her order. "Hey, a regular coffee please milk and two sugars" She smiled politely and waited for her order. It was the same place where she had received it from last time. She got her order and took a small sip of her coffee. Although she couldn't quite taste it as she used to, it warmed her up and well old habbits die hard right? Exiting the shop something else caught her interest. A smell. One that people don't usually forget anytime soon. She frowned. It was blood. Someone was bleeding. She stopped dead on the street and watched as people gave her dirty looks. Listening she heard what she had desperatly hoped she wouldn't hear. A vampire was feeding close by. She wanted to growl keeping a hold of her coffee and hoiting her bag on her shoulder she headed off down the back way of an alley. What she saw brang her up short however. Niklaus draining a poor girl. She blurred over and pushed him, but it would alot more than that to hut him or even move him. "Seriously? You can't get enough with nearly killing Elena now you have to go and drain some random girl in the next town over?" She crossed her arms towards him and stood leaning on one leg. ----------------------- ----------------------- Klaus had to figure out what happened to Elena. He had to figure out who was sabotaging him. This pissed him off and he needed to cool down before he did something drastic in the small town of Mystic Falls. No one knew what affected Elena so much and so far he knew that Caroline wasn’t involved because she was just as bewildered by it as he was, or that could be an act. Klaus couldn’t tell now days because people constantly lied and backstabbed. All he wanted was loyalty around him and no one could ever give him that and he was tired of it. When one of his siblings went against him he decided he would teach them all a lesson and started daggering them and holding them in coffins to teach them a lesson about loyalty. The one thing Klaus cared about more than anything was loyalty. It was all he ever wanted. He thought he had that with Elena and her friends, so that way Elena could stay alive. As long as he needed her she was safe, she had his protection but no someone had to go mess her up and she almost died. That showed no loyalty what so ever and Klaus wouldn’t tolerate it. He would hunt down the person responsible for this no matter what.
That was why he had headed off to Richmond, Virginia to calm down so he wouldn’t rip someone’s head off. He had been trying not to kill anyone because of Elena, because he felt like she wouldn’t help him if he killed anymore of her loved ones, and Caroline. Caroline was the most important. He cared about her, even loved her. He knew he could be a little cruel to her sometimes but that was just him hiding his feelings. He didn’t want anyone getting too close to him because he didn’t want to care; he didn’t want to get hurt like so many others have done before him. That was why he had his own policy hurt them before they can hurt you. It made sense of course; though around Caroline sometimes he let down his guard without realizing it, let her in without knowing it. She just did something to him, drove him crazy but a good crazy. Well it wasn’t good for him sometimes because she could use that against him, make him do things he didn’t want to do. Sometimes when they talked he would share a little piece of his past with her. She just had a way about her that made him open up to her and he liked it. He couldn’t understand what it was though it bewildered him to no end. Caroline made him want to be a better person, a better man sometimes; the kind of man that she would want to be with. He knew that she liked him but sometimes he felt that he wasn’t good enough for her, that he didn’t deserve her. That wasn’t him to care about what others thought about him but Caroline made him act different, not himself.
So here he was in Richmond drinking from some girl. He needed a snack and something to keep his mind what almost happened to Elena. If he thought about it then he would kill someone and that was what he was trying to avoid. He had been getting better at controlling his temper. He soon heard Caroline’s voice after being slightly pushed. Blood covered his mouth as he stared at Caroline still holding the girl. He wasn’t going to completely drain this girl but he sighed, rolled his eyes, and then compelled the girl to forget him and to forget what happened and to leave. He cleaned his mouth off then looked back at Caroline. I wasn’t going to drain her Caroline and I didn’t almost kill Elena. Someone messed with her because I didn’t take that much blood he said then ran a hand through his hair. He growled slightly and punched the brick wall making a hole. I was done when you got there and I have taken that much from her before, it never affected her like that. Someone messed with Elena and I will find out who it is and kill them alright he said glaring at Caroline and then added happy now. I will kill whoever almost killed her.
He started pacing which was never a good thing. I want to know who is behind this just as bad as you do and I don’t like the idea that you let that Sophia girl give Elena vampire blood. What if something else happens to her and she does die? Huh? She will turn into a vampire and then I will lose my way to make hybrids he said trying to control his temper. He knew he needed to calm down so he wouldn’t lose control and end up hurting someone. Caroline he said then looked at her face somber. Caroline I want to know you did this just as bad as you do and I want to make them pay just as bad as you do. I can’t have my doppelganger die he said.

----------------------- ----------------------- Caroline had only been to Richmind Virgina a few times. Even though it was only half an hour drive, she never really got to go anywhere out of Mystic Falls. This was literally as far as she had ever gotten. She didn't know why she didn't get out more often. There had to be a reason, mainly because there was always something equally important going on in her own small town home of Mystic Falls. However there just wasn;t enough for her at the moment, there was only supernatural drama that she seriously didn't want to deal with today. Everything had been crazy. She had saved Elena a few days ago from Klaus draining her dry. Caroline had no clue why Elena had been so effected either. She had been puzzling over it for the last few days, someone had either done something to her and she knew about it but just wasn't fessing up, or she had no clue what had happened to her which was even worse. Caroline wanted to know so she could kill them herself. No one messed with her best friend without there being consequences.
The coffee in her hand was soothing. She didn't know exactly what else she was going to do out here. Maybe try and get something to eat and then there was always the library which was way better stocked than the one she was accustomed to. She just knew that she had to get away, get distracted and not think about all the trouble that she would have to go back to. The thought alone was highly depressing. The coffee shop had a fabulous aroma to it, she loved the smell of coffee. It brought back so many human memories, ones that she thought were long gone. Although she held onto her hummanity she wasn't sure if she wanted to even be human again. Not that it was possible but some vampires like Stefan used to wish he could be human, she didn't mind who she had become now that she was a vampire. If only she could get rid of the blood lust it would make it all completely perfect.
Caroline looked over at Klaus. She knew that he would never hurt her. Not with his feelings for her growing, not that she would admit that hers are starting to peek out every now and then also. She watched as he compelled the girl who he was no longer drinking from. He wiped his mouth with the back of his hand and she handed him the napkin she had recieved with her coffee. He definitely needed it more than she did. "here take this instead of ruining your clothes" She added as she handed it over to him. She could tell that he was beyond pissed off about something but in all honesty she could figure out what it was on her own. What had happened with Elena. She was just as in the dark as he was so he couldn't try and drill it out of her, there was nothing there. She wanted to know who it was just as much. It seemed an escape to Richmond just wasn't working out as well as she thought. She watched him as he spoke to her in a completely rude way. Not that she could blame him she had just interrupted his feeding. Well he should learn to drink from blood bags instead it would have made life easier. "Well when I got there I remember having to literally save her. To me that said you took too much blood. She is giving it to you so you don't kill all of us and yet your go and abuse it. Seriously?" Caroline was just as pissed off as he was and yet she wasn't going around and making others feel bad about it all. She frowned when he punched the wall. She stalked forward slighlty, she didn't want him to be this angry around her. No she missed him when he was being nice and trying to win her own. She frowned when she came within touching distance and reached out and touched his arm. "I know it wasn't you. I'm sorry ok? I'm just as angry as you are about this and don't worry i'll be right there with you when I find out who did this to her as well" She sighed softly and tucked her hair behind her ear. Taking a sip of her scalding cup of coffee she looked around. No one else was coming this way at least. Caroline shook her head at his statement though. It had been just over a day already. Which meant Elena was not going to be become a vampire any time soon. "Don't worry, she won't be a vampire. She is protected at the moment. I highly doubt anything will happen to her. Not at the moment. The vampire blood will be out of her system soon. Give it another day or so. We don't know who did this either though" She sighed and glanced at the wall he had punched and saw the hole that had appeared and shuddered to think of his actual strength. She nodded. "Ok we'll find out who it is but it doesn't mean we all loose our heads and take it out on innocent people Klaus. People around these towns are noticing things we need to be careful" She realised she was sounding motherly and hated herself instantly for it. ----------------------- ----------------------- Klaus had a hard time controlling is anger. He did his best but some things happened and he would just lose it. Right now though Klaus was close to losing it; he was trying hard right now not to lose it. Klaus had a temper and some were afraid of his temper. They were right to be afraid because when Klaus lost his temper all bets were off. He didn’t care what happened as it was like he was in a blind rage and would do anything to get even then. Kol had the same temper as Klaus and they both got it from their father. Rebekah’s temper was close to theirs but not close enough. Then there were the rest of his siblings who couldn’t even hold a candle to them.
That was the whole reason he went to Richmond was to control his temper. He had to get out of Mystic Falls before he hurt someone. He didn’t realize it but he was trying to be a better person for Caroline. He was trying to do what he could to make her like him and he didn’t even realize he was doing it. It was like he was on autopilot and he couldn’t stop except when he lost his temper. That was something he couldn’t afford to do because of Caroline. It was all about her lately as she was constantly in his thoughts. Everything he did lately he wondered if Caroline would approve.
That was another reason why he was so upset about what happened to Elena, he knew if she had died Caroline would be crushed and he didn’t want to hurt her. He had made her a promise that he would try to never do anything to cause her pain or heartache. That was another reason he wanted to find out what happened to Elena. He knew he didn’t take that much blood cause it never affected her before like that. He knew someone was behind it and he wanted to find out who it was and make them pay not just for himself but for Caroline as well. He didn’t want Caroline hurting and he wanted Elena safe for himself and for Caroline.
The feeling was weird though because in his one thousand years no one ever made him feel like Caroline did. He couldn’t explain the feeling that he felt. He always felt like he couldn’t trust anyone ever but Caroline was slowly changing his mind about that. He didn’t want to admit it though, not to anyone and especially not to himself. He felt that if he let himself continue to fall for the blond vampire that he would lose the control he had over everyone. That they would think he was weak and that they could walk all over him and he was not about to that happen. No one would ever walk over Klaus again like his father use to do.
He stared at the napkin she was holding out to him to use. He took the napkin and said thank you Caroline. He wiped his hand off with the napkin and threw the napkin in a trash bin close by. Caroline was always so nice to him even when he did horrible things. He had no idea why she cared about him at all, why she was always being so nice to him. Why she felt the need to constantly take care of him basically when he was upset, to be there for him. After everything he had done to her and her friends she cared for him. It was something he couldn’t understand.
He sighed and ran a hand through his hair. He wondered when she was going to learn that he had no idea what happened to Elena either. He already told her that Elena had never been affected like that before. It caused him concern as much as it did her. That shouldn’t have happened Caroline. I’ve told you that over and over he said. He glared at her and said I didn’t abuse it. I took as much as I did before and she was fine then. I don’t know what happened Caroline.
Klaus was starting to lose his temper and he had to control it. He looked away from her. He didn’t want to get angry and say something that would hurt Caroline. He made her a promise after all. Then she came near him and touched his arm. That was when she told him that she knew it wasn’t him and that she was sorry. He looked back at her confusion on his face. You believe me really. That’s new he said. Usually Caroline and her friends didn’t believe a word that came out of his mouth. He didn’t lie all the time he just exaggerated the truth a bit and he made deals. When he made a deal though he honored it unless the other person broke their end of the deal.
He watched as she tucked a strand of hair behind her ear. His stomach fluttered a bit as he watched her. She was so beautiful though she had been told that all the time so it was nothing really coming from him. She assured him that Elena wouldn’t become a vampire because she was protected and nothing could hurt her but she didn’t realize how wrong she was. Elena’s track record spoke for itself. Yeah sure. How many times Caroline has Elena been protected and something still manages to happen to her? All someone has to do is threaten her friends or her brother and she will offer herself up on a silver platter and you know I am right he said.
Caroline went on saying he didn’t need to hurt innocent people. I wasn’t hurting anyone Caroline. I wasn’t going to do that. I don’t kill the people I feed from, not anymore really. That is actually Kol your thinking of. He makes a mess and I have to clean it up, always. Little brothers can be a pain sometimes Elena can understand that I believe he said. He rubbed his face. Punching the wall did nothing to his hand. He didn’t even hit it that hard. I am trying to keep Kol on a leash but it is hard to keep up with him when he doesn’t want to be found. He has a sort of recklessness when it comes to humans. He gets carried away shall we say he said not looking at her again.

----------------------- ----------------------- Caroline realised with a start tha she was feeling sorry for Klaus. Even though he had been the one that when she got there, he had been draining half to dead and Elena had been almost out of it completely. She knew it wasn't his fault and yet there was a part of her saying that it wouldn't have happened in the first place if he wasn't using Elena's blood to make his hybrids. She sighed at the thought of more hybrids coming into town, there was a recent influx of them and it was killing the small town. However there were pressing matters, like who else was messing with Elena these days. If someone like Caroline, who was with her all the time didn't know then there couldn't be anyone who did. She sighed not knowing what to do with this situation. Did she try to team up with Klaus and find out or just go straight to the source and ask Elena herself. It was all too confusing.
Caroline could tell that Klaus was doing his damned best to control his temper. Was it because she was here that he actually cared about what he did. She had noticed the way his behaviour had started to change. Would he become a better person for her? She hoped so but caught herself hoping which was even worse. She didn't know what to do with her new profound feelings towards the big bad whom she should hate. However she was more than a little impressed with his control, he was beyond angry that someone would mess with his dopple ganger and yet the worst he had done was punch a wall in temper and make a small indent in the wall. How could she not be impressed with that? She wondered if he acted out like he normally did when she wasn't around or if he was trying to control it at all times, if that were the case then she would be more than impressed, she would be estatic with the way he had turned around.
She watched as he took the napkin from her and wiped his hand and the back of his mouth. Who wanted to ruin good clothing right? He thanked her which wasn't something she had expected at all. Normally he just took things and never thought twice about it. "Your welcome" She ran a hand through her hair and let out a slighlty deep breath. Taking a sip of her coffee she started to feel just a little better. Something that was familliar always helped her. "Why are you here anyway? Why are you in Richmond. I've never heard that you come out here?" She asked carefully. She didn't want to over step her bounds which she had done on more than one occasion with him. Although he always forgave her in the end. She wondered what he was doing out here though, it couldn't be to just find a meal because he could have done that in Mystic Falls. She watched as he tried to calm himself down. it was something at least and he was frustrated to no end, that much even she could tell. It wouldn't take a mind reader to guess that one. She knew she shouldn't have had a go at him but she was just as angry about this entire situation as he was no doubt. it was her best friend and not just some blood supply like she was to him. Elena was her family. Caroline shook her head. "Ok I get it, you don't know what happened." She practically growled at him. She hated being scolded, especially by someone like him who was pretty much worse than she was in attitude. "Ok so you didn't abuse it. But you should at least be more thankful to her. She gives you everything you ask for just to protect those she loves, I know you can't understand that really but you have to know what she is sacrificing for you. Just a simple thank you to her would be good" She realised she was being a bitch again and tried to control herself. Taking another drink from her coffee she almost drained it in one go. The coffee didn't have much of a taste anymore, at least not like it used to but it didn't mean she would stop drinking it. It was her life line when she had been human so she would keep up the facade for as long as it took. She could tell that he was shocked by her words. That she believed him and that she would be right there with him when they found out who had been messing with her best friend. "I believe you because I've seen the change in you. I know your not lying to me. You wouldn't be this upset if you were but know i'll be there with you when we find out who did this. They aren't getting away with this, Elena is like family to me" She spoke the last part more aggresivley but she knew she was being soft when she spoke to Klaus. She didn't know what was coming over her recently, she would have to find out what she was really feeling for him. She sighed when Klaus started talking about how Elena acted. If only he knew her the way that she did. Elena wouldn't offer herself up just like that, there was always an ulterior motive, there was always a way to fit a plan in there somewhere. Just like when Klaus broke the curse there had been the extra plan. With everything they did there was always something else beyond the surface. "It's not like that Klaus. You don't know her like I do. Sure she would be willing to give herself up like she did for you. But do you not remember what happened the night you broke the curse? The extra part in the plan that went horribly wrong. Normally they don't go so bad. You'll learn that the good side always wins. We would never let Elena walk into somethíng that she didn't want to do. She spoke truthfully, there were too many people protecting that girl now. She moved and leant agains the wall throwng away her coffee cup once she had drained the last bit. She leant back against the wall and lifted one of her legs s her foot was also on the wall. She had too much going on in her mind right now. PLus what he was saying to her, he didn't kill anymore? "Why? Why would you give up what you have done for the last one thousand years? I know Kol is bad but we all know who taught him Klaus. It's truth I haven't seen you kill in a long time but I just don't understand why when you have nothing to loose anymore?" She asked carefully. She crossed her arms as she stood there hoisting her bag even further onto her shoulder. She didn't know what to make of him like this. Normally she got the flirtacious side of him, not the side where they stood around discussing important matters. She hoped she wasn't giving anything away with him. ----------------------- ----------------------- Klaus needed to figure out what happened to Elena or it would drive him insane. Worse it would make his temper flare more and he didn’t know if he could control it for too long. He was trying for Caroline but there was only so much he could handle in one day. He ran a hand through his hair pacing again. He paced when he was angry and his siblings knew that they needed to watch out if he ever started pacing. It was something he had picked up from his step father Mikael. He never even noticed he did it until Rebekah said one day “oh he is pacing again. Not good.” He never realized that he paced before. He couldn’t help himself though because he would just start pacing. It was instinct to him.
After using the napkin that Caroline had given him he threw it in the trash near them, after all there was no more use for the napkin. He sighed and nodded at her “your welcome.” Klaus didn’t know what to say to that. It was like he was an entirely different person around Caroline. She then asked why he was here. That was honestly a stupid question. Why did it matter why he was here? He was here and he didn’t need her permission to be here. He sighed and closed his eyes calming down again. He was still pissed off on the whole Elena almost dying thing and little things had been setting him off lately since that incident. He sighed and finally answered I just needed to get away from Mystic Falls before I did something I might end up regretting later. Klaus would only regret something he might end up doing if it hurt Caroline in any way. He didn’t know why Caroline had to keep bringing up the whole Elena thing. Yes he was taken blood from her when it happened but he was taking a safe amount of blood in a safe way. He made sure never to harm Elena Gilbert after he learned that he needed to give his hybrids her blood to make them successfully. Klaus glared at her for a bit. His face soon softened but his eyes still had intensity to them. I show her how thankful I am by not grinding her annoying brother into the dirt. The young Gilbert thinks he is so big and bad. He needs to be knocked down a few pegs and shown who is boss he said. Klaus couldn’t stand the Gilbert boy at all.
He looked at her and sighed. She believed him and he couldn’t believe that. No one of Elena’s friends ever believed him even when he was telling the truth. They thought he was constantly lying all the time. He would admit that sometimes he did lie to meet his needs but most of the time he was telling the truth. You are right though they won’t get away with this he said. Klaus wasn’t going to let whoever did this get away. He would hunt them to the ends of the earth for messing with his doppelganger.
Caroline went on talking about how Elena wouldn’t be going into something if she wasn’t protected and if she didn’t want to. He knew she wouldn’t be going if she didn’t want to but that was his point. She would do anything to keep her friends and brother safe. He rolled his eyes and sighed. I know you have known Elena longer but I know that no matter what she would do anything to keep her friends and her little brother safe. Even if her life might be threatened and she won’t let you or anyone else stop her he said.
He watched as Caroline leaned against the wall. It was true that Klaus had taught his little brother everything that he knew. Klaus always did whatever he wanted no matter the consequences. That was how his brother got killed and his mother decided to make them all vampires so she wouldn’t lose anyone else. Caroline wanted to know why he stopped killing people. Why he didn’t want to hurt anyone else. He honestly didn’t know himself. He had stopped without realizing it himself. I don’t know Caroline he said. He sighed and then looked at her. He couldn’t help himself. He walked over to her and took her face in his hands and kissed her.

----------------------- ----------------------- Caroline knew that she shouldn't be feeling anything towards Klaus. He had practically ruined most of their lives. Heck he had ruined her best friend's life. There was nothing Elena could do other than be his local supply of blood for him to create more hybrids and yet he didn't seem to care what she was giving up for him. She knew they had to find a way to make it easier, to stop Elena from doing this. It wasn't fair that her friend was being used like this and she hated the consequences from it. However when she looked at Klaus things got fuzzy, the lines she shouldn't cross suddenly became blurry and she no longer knew what was right or wrong. Only what felt right and wrong. She couldn't stop herself from wishing that he was a better person, maybe he could be but just wasn't allowing himself to be. Either way she had to try and stop her feelings.
She could see how angry he was about what had happened with Elena. Of course everyone could, however she also knew that they were all angry for different reasons. Klaus was angry because it endangered his species, nothing else. Elena was like property to him. it was different for Caroline however. She was worried that who ever it was would try again. She wanted to know because she loved and cared for her best friend and hated the thought of someone touching her or hurting her in any way. They had grown up together after all and someone hurting one of her best friends was not the way to get on Caroline Forbes's good side. If she even had one. But she could see that he was trying to reign in his temper, that alone was a big plus for her. She could see that he was trying because she was here and that wasn't exactly some thing that Caroline could completely ignore.
She could appreciat the need for an escape. After all she was the one who had been avoiding school and trying not to let people know about her little meeting with Tyler. Everything had gone down hill in her life since then. She had been officially dumped and it was killing her. Did this mean that Klaud would be more interested? She didn't even know if he knew Tyler was back in town or not and Caroline would keep that secret for as long as she could. "Ok I get why you need an escape, we all do sometimes. Seriously though Richmond? Why here you know? I came here for the obviously better coffee" She added her own little joke in there trying to make the situation a better one. Well enough to stop her feeling so uncomfortable. She had to stop these feelings she was feeling whens he looked at Klaus, it shouldn't be happening. Of course Caroline's estimation in him went down with his next words. Yeah not the smart choice of things to say. There was nothing wrong with Jeremy, he was nothing more than a protective brother. Yes he was annoying and he had broke Bonnie's heart however Klaus was being a douche to him and not in a good way. "Yeah see that's not thanks. Jeremy is doing nothing other than being a good brother to Elena and you know it. You want to show thanks? Maybe say it once in awhile. I act all big and mighty around you because I know you won't hurt me. Does that mean you want to grind me under your foot as well?" She added quite harshly. She was pissed off at what he had said. She may not be Jeremýs favourite person but there was no way she was going to let him bully the younger Gilbert. They both shared the same viciousness when it came to who ever was hurting Elena. At least that was something. For once they were colaberating instead of going up against each other. That was something at least. She shrugged it off though and leant back slowly relaxing a little against the wall. "Do you have any idea who it is though? I'm stumped and Elena won't say anything about it. I think it might be someone who is threatening you. I don't think it's anything personal against her. Unless it was Stefan which if that were the case then you will have to fix your little slave" There was the slight hint at how pissed she was for him using Stefan. She had always classed Stefan as a friend, especially as he had helped her transition. It had been hard at first but she had managed to get through it with the help of a friend. He said he didn't know and she shrugged it off letting out a sift sigh. She pushed a hand through her hair moving it from her face. The curls were pretty and everything and she always seemed to take her time to make herself presentable, it didn't mean she wasn't a girl who's hair didn't get in her face. Howerver what happened next she hadn't been expecting. Maybe it was the pent up frustration at the overall situation but Caroline definitely hadn't expected to be kissed. She froze and stood there motionless and shocked. Until the feeling really sunk and realised with a start that she was kissing him back. She slowly let herself fall into it and wrapped her arms around him. Until she remembered this was Klaus. She froze once again and pushed him away from her. Really the kiss had been awesome but she couldn't say that. "That shouldn't have happened" He breathing was sliglhty laboured and he was still standing oh so close and his scent was intoxicating. ----------------------- ----------------------- Klaus just couldn’t help how he felt around Caroline. There was this strong pull towards her that he couldn’t fight no matter how hard he tried. She was just always there, always on his mind. He couldn’t stop thinking about her. His brother Kol constantly made fun of him because of his feelings for Caroline, so did his sister Rebekah. He knew that she couldn’t talk though because she still had feelings for that Matt Donovan boy. He knew how everyone felt about him but it was too late to change how he acted and what he did. It was too late for him and he knew the world was cruel. Caroline didn’t though as she still thought the world was made of unicorns and rainbows. He wouldn’t try to take that from her so when he did find out who did this he wouldn’t tell her. She wanted to be there and he wouldn’t allow that. He just said he would tell her but he wasn’t going to.
He knew Caroline was just as upset as he was. She was just better at hiding it than he was. She didn’t lose her temper like he did. That was another thing that he loved about her. Loved, he never admitted that to her out loud. He always said that he liked her a lot and that he had feelings for her. He didn’t tell her because he knew that she would never choose him over Tyler. Yes she had weak times with him but he knew that she would continue to stay with him no matter what he did. He knew that and he knew that he couldn’t change that. He continued to try though but he wasn’t going to tell her that he loved her knowing she would never truly be his.
Klaus wanted Caroline to be happy. That was all he wanted and at times he couldn’t believe himself. He couldn’t believe that a girl had him feeling like this. It was just too weird for Klaus. He had said years ago no one would ever make him feel like this. He would never do anything to get hurt ever again. He sighed as he ran a hand through his hair. She asked why he had come to Richmond and he shrugged. I didn’t come to Richmond. I just started running and just stopped and here I was in Richmond. It wasn’t something I planned honestly he said sticking his hands into his pocket. I don’t eat human food because there is no point really. It doesn’t do anything for me so why bother he said at her comment about the coffee.
She went on saying how he not hurting Jeremy was his way of thanking Elena wasn’t really thanking her. He of course thought it was because he was doing her the favor of not hurting her little brother. He knew how sibling love was because he felt the same way towards his siblings even if they did annoy him. Yes he daggered them sometimes but he did it because he cared. He knew that sometimes their actions could get them killed so he kept them safe. Yes he is still annoying he said. He sighed at her last statement and he shook his head. No. No I would never do that to you Caroline he said.
She asked him if he had any idea who could have messed with Elena. He sighed because he didn’t. He couldn’t figure this out and it pissed him off. He shook his head and said no I don’t. I want to find out though, I want to know who and when I do find out who did it I will kill them. His fist clenched again trying to control his temper. He sighed and unclenched his fist calming down. He kissed her. He kissed her and she kissed him back. He didn’t know how long he had been kissing her and then she broke the kiss. He sighed as she said that they shouldn’t be doing that. Caroline come on he said and kissed her again hoping she wouldn’t try to push him away again. He didn’t care about Tyler and Caroline, well he didn’t care about Tyler. All he cared about was Caroline and being with her.

----------------------- ----------------------- Caroline was trying to convince herself that when she looked at him she wasn't getting tingles and her body was humming. But she couldn't. She wouldn't, point blank refused to admit it out loud to anyone, especially to Klaus himself, but that didn't mean she could deny what she was feeling to herself. Every time she looked over at him all his stunningly handsome features washed over her. The way he was with her came rushing in and the way he had changed and she knew it was all for her. She couldn't help herself but to feel the way she did. She knew that her heart would be fluttering around in her chest right now if it still beat. However she couldn't let that show, couldn't show that Klaus was starting to get his way. That he was starting to win her over. It didn't mean she could ignore what he had done in the past, but she could maybe start to forgive some of it.
She figured that he knew how upset and angry she really was when it came to what happened with Elena. She was just better at acting as though she were keeping her cool better than some people any way. She was hot headed, she always had been, but that didn't mean she couldn't rein it in when it was required of her. She wondered if he could really tell just how angry she really was. She wanted to be one of the people who got her revenge as best as she could. She wanted to be the one to help torture the person that did this and make them pay for hurting one of her friends. Of course she wasn't the only one who was thinking that, it only took one look at Klaus to know he was thinking and feeling the same thing. However she was trying really hard not to look at him although it was inevitable.
Klaus started to explain about how he had come to Richmond. So he hadn't actually planned on being here it just kind of happened. She knew how that was. She had planned on being here but sometimes she wished she could just run and keep running until she found out where it took her. "If you were that angry I suggest not running into civilisation, it never ends well for the innocents here." She smiled slightly and knew she was joking just to lighten the mood up a little. She was over all this anger and depressing moods. It brought her down as well which she hated. She rolled her eyes at his comment however. "How would you know? Have you tried it? HUman food curbs the cravings, it does the same thing alcohol does except it can't get you drunk and doesn't make you look like you need to go to an AA meeting" She added with raised eyebrows. She rolled her eyes and knew that her words were falling on deaf ears. Once it again is seems her was impervious to her words. It was like he didn't care that he had just threatened Jeremy Gilbert. He was going to try and say that any one of his number of siblings wouldn't so the same if the role was reversed? Of course they would! So he shouldn't judge Jeremy for trying to look out for his sister. "Your not getting my point though Klaus. You might find him annoying but if the roles were reversed your own siblings would be doing exactly the same. You can't make a deal of not killing him as your way of saying thanks. There are always better ways and you know it" She added with a slight sigh. She pushed a hand through her hair and shook her head. There was no getting through to him. Caroline heard him say he would never hurt her. "Well then there you go. Rules should be the same for everyone. " She didn't think it would matter what she said really. When she pushed him back and he didn't go very far she should have known that the one attempt wouldn't be enough for him. She couldn't stop her breathing from being shallow and laboured from their first encountr. It was probably the shock, the fact that she hadn't expected it in the first place. Klaus...." Her words were cut short when he placed his lips on hers once again. Why oh why did he have to confuse the crao outta her? She couldn't help herself though, he was simply intoxicating. Everything about him, the accent, his scent the way he was with her. She couldn't help but remember earlier where she admitted to herself that she could no longer deny the way he made her feel. She kissed him back. Slowly at first but slowly getting deeper. It was like she was under his spell or something. One hand went into his hair holding it there the other up onto his shoulder. She knew the logical thing to do would be to push him away and run as fast as she could from him. Yet why wasn't she pushing him away? ----------------------- ----------------------- Klaus tried his best to deny what he was feeling for Caroline. He knew she would be doing the same thing. He knew she cared for him and he didn’t deserve it. He didn’t deserve for her to ever forgive him for any of the things he had done and yet he found himself hoping that she would, hoping that some place inside her can forgive him for all the things he had done. He didn’t understand how he was feeling as he had never felt like this before. It was a strange feeling for the hybrid and he found himself not wanting to ever lose that feeling. He found himself staying in Mystic Falls just for Caroline.
Klaus was pissed. That was all there was to it. He wouldn’t draw Caroline into his anger. She mentioned about how he shouldn’t be near people because of his anger but he didn’t listen to that part too well. He just didn’t want to. He sighed and ran a hand through his hair. If you run long enough you could end up anywhere. I just happened to stop here. Didn’t mean to really he said. He looked down and kicked a stray rock lightly towards the wall away from Caroline. It made a small dent in the brick wall and he sighed. Stopping here wasn’t smart alright. I know that but I needed something to eat and I wasn’t going to kill no one here. Promise he said.
She had asked if he had tried human food. For her it was something that curved the craving she had for human blood. She said something about an AA meeting but he didn’t understand that all too much. He didn’t keep up with the local lingo of humans after a couple centuries. It bored him but to not look like an idiot he pretended to understand what she was talking about. She would never know the difference really. He shrugged and said I love alcohol. It’s very good. You should know that Caroline but no I haven’t eaten human food since I was turned into a vampire. To be honest I don’t want a reminder of my human life. It reminds me of what I’ve lost and will never get back alright. Klaus hardly opened up like this but when he did it was always Caroline who made him do it. He had no idea what control she had over him for him to spill his deepest secrets and desires.
Once again she was going on about how he couldn’t threaten Jeremy. He wasn’t threatening Jeremy really just expressing his feelings. He hadn’t recently threatened the young Gilbert to make Caroline happy. Why did no one seem to remember that about him? Alright Caroline whatever. I won’t make any comment about how much the young Gilbert annoys me and I will try to thank Elena once a month he said his jaw clenched. After meeting Caroline he had started compromising on a lot of things. He just didn’t understand what she did to him to make him do stuff like this. It made him see weak but at the same time a part of him didn’t care. Caroline was his weakness and everyone knew it.
When she had pushed him back he had given her a couple seconds before kissing her again. This time she didn’t push him away. She had said his name moments before the second kiss just as he had said hers. Her arms were in his hair and the other on his shoulder. Her kiss also got deeper as did his. He kissed her deeper and more passionate after she got more comfortable in the kiss. He pushed her up against the brick wall, not hard though, his hands moving to her hips as he kissed her. There was no denying the feelings now and everything was out in the open now. Klaus wasn’t drunk this time either, neither was Caroline. He continued kissing her passionately.

----------------------- ----------------------- Caroline couldn't seem to help herself around him, his scent everything about him was just driving her mad. Everything was currently about sensation, the way it felt when his hands travelled down her back to hold her hips. The searing fire that he left in his wake. Was it supposed to feel like this? She had only encountered this kind of thing with Tyler before and even then it felt so different. Everyone was different, passionate in their own way. She was loosing herself in nothng but feeling and sensation although she knew it was wrong to want to keep going. She had pushed away from the wall without even realising it, trying to get closer to him and yet he seemed quite happy to push her back into the wall. It wasn't hard enough to hurt but being a vampire meant it didn't hurt as much anyway.
She felt the kiss getting deeper and warning bells started to go off in her head. Especially when she could hear her own breathing getting laboured. It was like she could feel everything that he was feeling for her. They were connected. She couldn't hide her emotions anymore, she wasn't drunk and coming on to him, he wasn't planning on leaving any time soon. This was different than last time. Everything was about the two of them, if someone walked past they would no doubt raise their eyebrows at the spectacle that they would see. She could feel the leather of her jacket on her back and how tight it was across her front. She pulled away fro his lips looking up for a breather. She had to stop, had to push him away but just didn't know how. She looked back down at him her breathing coming heavy and fast and just stood there for a moment, no one could deny what they had just experienced.
Her lips were slightly swollen from the kiss and she looked away from their intense gaze. Taking her hands away from him she pushed away from the wall and out of his grasp. She stood on the other side with her back facing him for a moment as she caught her breath. That shouldn't have happened and yet she was as much to blame as he was, she should have pulled away in the first place. She placed her forearm on the wal and leant her head against her arm. She shook her head slightly and closed her eyes. Letting a slow and deep breath sne stood up straight once more but couldn't quite look at him yet so she kept her back to him. "Klaus... that shouldn't have happened. I know your not the only one to blame for that then but i just... I just don't know what im feeling ok? And Tyler left and then you come along all charmig and weirdly sweet and it's just confusing ok?" She knew he hadn't said a work yet and she was kind of raising her voice towards the end but her emotions were all over the place. Pushing a hand through her hair she still couldn't exactly lok at him as she turned around. She could still smell his skin and scent lingering on her. She walked up to him though, this needed to be sorted out. "What just happened? How did we go from arguing like that to... well that" She pointed towards the wall behind him when she spoke the last part. The confusion was clear on her face and yet when she stood close to him again she could feel the heat come burning back. She had felt his hands on her and hadn't wanted it to stop, should she had even stopped it? She really hoped these questions weren't clear on her expression, he could very easily misread it for the heat she currently felt also. ----------------------- ----------------------- For some reason Klaus couldn’t help himself around Caroline. He couldn’t figure out how she had this hold on him. No one else had ever been able to make him feel like she always made him feel. It was hard for him to admit the feelings he had as well. Klaus loved a lot of things about Caroline. He loved the way she smelled, the way her hair fell down her shoulders, how smart she was, and how she never put up with his crap. She challenged him constantly and he actually liked that with her. He had no idea what it was about that or about her. There was just something about Caroline Forbes.
They were kissing passionately and Klaus had her up against the wall. The kiss got deeper and he found that she was pushing herself away from the wall to get closer to him. Neither one of them were drunk so this wasn’t a drunk accident. They both wanted each other and Klaus didn’t want this to stop. What he wanted was to take her back to his home and to spend the night with her. He didn’t think that would happen though because he figured she would stop them both at some point before it went any further. He hoped it wouldn’t but he couldn’t count on his hope.
Caroline finally pulled away from him and he sighed. He knew this wasn’t going to end well now. She was going to pull her head around and come up with a reason why this shouldn’t be happening right now. He didn’t want to hear that right now. All he wanted right now was Caroline. He wanted sex that could distract him from what had happened to Elena. If he continued thinking about it he would get all pissed off again and he was finally calming down to where he didn’t want to tear up the whole time. He sighed as she said how they shouldn’t have been doing this and how this was just all so confusing for her. He wished she would quit thinking about things so much sometimes and just go with the flow. Caroline don’t start that okay he said to her.
She turned around and wouldn’t look at him anymore. He sighed getting a little upset with her different moods. He wanted her to stop all this crazy madness because her moods were giving him whiplash. He hated that feeling because he wanted Caroline now and she was trying to talk herself out of whatever might have happened. Going on about how it was wrong because she loved Tyler and such. He was tired of hearing about Tyler because he didn’t care about Tyler. He cared about himself and Caroline. Tyler pissed him off too much and was nothing really. She asked him what happened and how they went to fighting to kissing. He sighed and ran a hand through his hair. I don’t know Caroline. I…I just wanted to do that alright. I wanted you and I wanted a distraction from what happened to Elena I guess. I honestly don’t know what happened Caroline he said.

----------------------- ----------------------- Caroline knew she would have questions going around and around in her head. Just because she was single now didn't mean that Klaus knew that. For all he knew she was still with Tyler and yet she had let this happen anyway. She wondered how long he had been craving to do exactly that with her. How long he had waited to try and win her over when neither of them had been copletely wasted simply just getting lost in a moment. Arguing really did cause a sort of heat between the two of them, it seemed to be the only time that they were completely honest with each other and not afraid to show their true colours and yet they still managed to find that deep chemisty, the attraction that formed between the two of them. She needed to either do something about their connectin or severe it completely but she just couldn't thnik straight when he was close to her like this.
She knew he had been watching her when she had walked away and knew she was as much to blame for what just happened as he was. This was no longer one sided, she needed to be honest that she had feelings for him. But did feelings mean forgetting completely about Tyler and go around making out with him in the street. Anyone could have seen them and they would have told them to get a room. She would't blame them, their embrace and had been nothing like innocent or chaste. Quite the opposite for that matter. She let out a deep breath to control her own breathing. The scene would replay in her mind a few times, she knew it was inevitable but what to do about it was a different story. She just didn't know. She could look at him now though and he seemed upset with her. Why? They had to have ended their kiss at some point or maybe it was because she couldn't make up her mind when it came to him.
He turned around with he didn't know what had just happened either. Was it that much of a shock to both of them that she had responded the way she had or the entire situation? She didn't know for use, it seemed as though there were soo many thoughts going on through her head she couldn't focus upon one at time. She needed to tell someone about this but who? Elena? No surely that wouldn't work. Maybe Bonnie though, she would understand right? She looked back at Klaus. Don't do what? Try to rationalise everything in her head. "You can't ask that of me. I love Tyler and he's gone. For some strange reason I can't stay away from you when I should. Seriously? What should I do?" She was trying not to yell, trying not to let her voice rise and draw attention to the two of them. She couldn't. His nest words hurt like a slap across the face. The sting still there. Did he not realise what he had just said? The entire reason that had happene was because he needed a distraction. Was that it? She wanted to growl at him. She wanted to hit him like she wouldn't believe. She settled with a slap. She slapped him across the face and shook her head. She could feel the fury in her face. "How could you?" She stook one step back and then another. Shaking her head once more Caroline turned and blurred away. She went straight to her car not caring why she came to this town. Feeling the tears slide down her cheeks she started her car and headed for home. He had used her and she had fallen for it. She wanted to go back and pummel him but kept driving. She needed to go home.
