- - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - -She was running late, something she very rarely did. She had laid down when she got home and had forgotten to set her alarm, waking up 10 minutes before she was supposed to be at The Lockwood’s. She was heading over there as a favor to Alaric who had asked her to drop it off since it was something for the founder’s council. It was annoying sometimes that no one ever asked Jeremy to do anything but she quickly quelled that. She was glad that Jeremy was happy with Bonnie and she knew they made a cute couple. This was also probably good for her to do…something normal, something safe, something human. She knew it was her basic teenage instincts that made her annoyed but she still knew it was something she needed to do.
She threw herself out of bed and ran to her closet, trying to figure out what to wear. It didn’t need to be anything spectacular since she wasn’t planning on staying long, but she couldn’t show up in the pajamas she had put on when she got home in order to lay down and relax. Today had been a stressful day. Between the things going on with vampires, werewolves, Klaus, his hybrids, Stefan, Damon, and add to that the pressures of school, it hadn’t been an easy day. Meaning that she was exhausted and not feeling extremely peppy. The outfit she picked out was definitely reflecting that. Usually she dressed semi preppy though she was always comfortable. Today was all about being comfortable.
She quickly changed out of her pajama pants and threw on a pair of flare jeans that were the most comfortable ones she owned. They still looked good, but they were worn in so she loved them. Next she replaced the black tank top she had put on to sleep in with a deep purple one, throwing on a gray cardigan over it. She moved her necklace so it was outside of tank top and grabbed her messenger bag. She ran downstairs and grabbed the box that had been placed next to the door before jumping in the car and heading towards the Lockwood’s house.
Unfortunately she never quite made it there. As she drove by the Falls she heard a loud pop and felt her car jerk. She groaned, knowing exactly what that meant. Her tire had blown. She groaned and quickly grabbed her cell phone, dialing Mrs. Lockwood’s number and letting her know that she wouldn’t be there as she had car trouble. She promised she’d get Jeremy to drop it off tomorrow if her car wasn’t fixed by then and hung up, getting out of the car after sending Stefan and Damon both a text message letting them know her car had a flat and she needed someone to come and help her change it.
She looked around her surroundings and noticed someone in the distance but it was a female who she didn’t recognize so she let it be, instead looking at her tire and groaning.
This was not what she needed right now.

----------------------- [/b] -----------------------[/b] Katherine was in the woods just finishing of a light meal. She had covered her tracks and compelled the fool away. He would not remember a thing just that he had gone hunting and had failed to kill anything. Katherine wiped her lips and licked the last remnant of blood off of her fingers. She had never been to cleanest when she was hungry. She smiled to herself as she wandered back towards civilization honestly in no rush. It was so refreshing just being free. She was doing her best to keep off Klaus's radar.
Kathrine wore a simple skimpy dress of sorts. It was black and silky she had the shoes to match not exactly meant for hunting but she loved to look good. Kathrine loved to be stylish in her clothing options unlike her doppelganger. Katherine stumbled upon the quarry it was not long until her vampire eyes spotted someone familiar.
Katherine remained still watching Elena for a moment. She was considering turning and walking the other way. But something stopped her. Sure, Katherine was not Elena's biggest fan nor was she hers. But no one was around so the chance of them being spotted together was slim. Why the hell not? Katherine made her way to dear Elena humming to herself as she did. "Well hello, what do we have here a damsel in distress?" she said a smirk on her lips as she came to a stop a few feet in front of the car. "Oh my." she said dramatically a hand hovering over her mouth.
Katherine tilted her head to the side eying the flat tire before she looked to dear Elena. Her dark gaze drinking in her look a like. At this moment they seemed complete opposites. Katherine all dolled up and Elena...not. "Cute sweater." she said with a shrug of her shoulders. Not for her taste she hated cardigans. But Elena and her comfy way of dressing.
"So which daring prince will show up to save you?" she asked. -----------------------[/b][/center]

- - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - -As she looked at her tire which was definitely beyond repair and would have to be changed to the spare tired she kept in her SUV. Not that she was going to be able to actually change it since it had never been something she had learned how to do. Her father had talked about teaching her basic car maintenance before he died but had never gotten around to it. Since then it seemed like one thing after another and she had never truly thought about it again, though it was clear that she probably should have considering all the things that went bump in the night around Mystic Falls.
Thinking about her parents seemed to make her more and more angry as the months went by. Sometimes she wanted to scream sometimes at the injustice of it all. Why did it have to be their parents who got taken away? She wouldn’t wish it on anyone else, but what did her parents ever do? They had loved them, kept them safe, gave them love and attention, and yet they were just stolen cruelly away from them because of an accident? Something didn’t seem right about the whole thing but there was no way to tell. She had a feeling, just like everything else that had happened recently, that she would find out the answers to her questions in some bizarre way when it was time for her to know.
She had originally thought that Uncle John might have had something to do with it, but dismissed it almost immediately after thinking it, knowing that while he was a manipulative bastard, he wouldn’t go as far as killing his own brother. She remembered after she had found out about Isobel, and had wondered briefly if she had killed her birth parents in order to try and get Elena to herself. After meeting the woman who gave birth to her, she denied that theory as well. It was quite obvious that Isobel would have been perfectly fine living her entire life without ever hearing another word about her, that thought hadn’t changed when she died.
Realizing she was quickly sinking into thoughts better left for another day she stood up, knowing that she was doing no good crouching by her tire since there was no way she was going to be able to change it. She jumped when she heard a woman’s voice behind her. She turned around and was momentarily stunned when all of a sudden she was essentially looking in the mirror. It didn’t take her big a mere second to realize exactly who was staring back at her. “Katherine.” She stated, though it was obvious that it was unnecessary. A part of her wished that she could find some common bond with the woman who was technically her only other blood relative besides Jeremy, but the other part of her just wished that Katherine would go away.
She could never tell which part was stronger.
She couldn’t read Katherine like she could others, even though they shared the same face. “It’s not a party dress but it works for where I was going.” She stated in regards to her comment about her sweater. “As for which prince, I’m not sure either of them quality for prince hood, besides, as far as I know they’re both busy.” She stated with a shrug, not having the energy to put up her usual sarcastic front with her ancestor. “What about you, what are you doing here?” She asked curiously, though on the inside she realized she probably didn’t want to know.

----------------------- [/b] -----------------------[/b] Katherine was more then hoping one of the brother who show up. Oh, the reaction she would get from each of them. She knew both boys would have completely different reactions. Damon the hot head and Stefan...well Stefan. She smiled slightly but let it fade knowing both would be angry with her in one facet or another. But she was used to it at this point. She was working her way back into there good graces hopefully. Slowly yet surly.
Katherine was more focused on staying hidden from Klaus. sure she knew he probably had some idea she was about. But she wanted to make sure she was far from caught. Which reminded her she had a witch or two to visit.
Katherine smiled when Elena spoke her name. Katherine had the slight feeling that Elena was not exactly in the mood for her. But then again when was her doppelganger. Katherine suppressed an eye roll at Elena's words. "I was being sarcastic hun...not literal." Katherine knew neither of them were princes just like she was not a princess. But they analogy was always fun to envision. "I can see you not in the best of moods." Katherine glanced at the tire. "Need help?" she asked.
Katherine was far from dressed for the occasion but she was a vampire. She could do whatever she wanted and look as good as she wanted while ripping someone apart. "What I'm doing her her is enjoying a meal. What I'm doing in Mystic Falls only time will tell." she said with a shrug. Katherine certainly loved being cryptic.

- - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - -It was difficult for her to relax around her ancestor. She turned into a completely different person. Elena wasn’t the type to not get along with people. She wouldn’t try and say that she wasn’t friendly…because she was. For the most part she could get along with anyone and usually did…though she’d also admit that she was a bit judgmental when she first met someone. If you looked like a washed out stoner (like several of the people Jeremy hung out with right after their parents died) she would judge you accordingly in a new York minute…not for want of but because that was how she had been raised. She’d still be polite to you but at the same time she wouldn’t make as big of an effort. That may have made her sound shallow but that was the way things went. Most people were like that as well so she wouldn’t apologize for it. She wouldn’t ostracize someone because of the way they looked but she’d make an opinion in her head and it would take her awhile to get over the initial opinion because first impressions stuck out like a sore thumb in her head.
However with Katherine it was different. She may not have known her for all that long but her first impressions stood out and it always caused her to either lash out at her or to just be very uncomfortable around her. She knew that Katherine was not her biggest fan and while usually though would frustrate her since she was one who usually was on people’s good sides, it didn’t surprise her in any way with the older woman.
Hearing her words she nodded. “I know, but what am I really supposed to say? Sorry that you don’t like my fashion sense? I know better than to piss you off Katherine.” She told her honestly, not hiding the fact that she was a tiny bit afraid of the woman. Usually she could hide it because she was aware that Katherine wouldn’t hurt her, however out in the middle of nowhere she really didn’t have that usual boost of confidence.
Hearing the vampire’s question she nodded her head in a way that clearly said she hated asking for it. “Unfortunately I am not a mechanic nor have I really ever had to worry about it so I will admit to not knowing how to change a flat. Mock if you must.” She told her, knowing that she would at least get some sort of snide comment about being useless, something that she was definitely feeling tonight.
It didn’t surprise her that Katherine was ‘enjoying a meal’ though she prayed that she hadn’t killed anyone in order to do it. It also didn’t surprise her that she wouldn’t tell her what she was doing in Mystic Falls. “I’m assuming you’re still avoiding Klaus?” She asked, trying to make conversation. “I saw him a few days ago trying to get into Caroline’s good graces, not that it was working too well.” She stated, talking about the recent Christmas Ball and how Caroline had shot him down numerous times.

----------------------- [/b] -----------------------[/b] Katherine sighed placing a hand on her hip she was already growing slightly bored. She bite her lips usually when she got bore she would spice things up. make them interesting herself but with dear Elena she tended to have to play nice. Even though she was sure underneath Elena's boring exterior she put off on more the one occasion, Katherine was sure she knew how to have a good time. Though presently Katherine had yet to see this side of her ancestor. Maybe one night she would have to coax it out of her. Raid the Salvatore stash of drinks. She knew she would most likely get in trouble for such an act but hey can't a girl have a little fun.
She smiled she would have to go out tonight. But it would most likely not be in Mystic Falls. She had to keep Klaus from setting eyes upon her. But the occasional visit would not hurt her. After all she was not completely defenseless.
Katherine's smile grew at Elena's comment. she could tell the doppelganger was not in the mood for her usual antics. 'Again it's call sarcasm Elena..." she said with a small shrug. "Don't take things so personally." she said a bit softer. She liked the fact Elena did not want to piss her off. It gave her a boost in confidence. Not that she really needed it or was planning to hurt her poor human ancestor. But it was interesting to know Elena still feared her. She was used to her being more confident with a Salvatore by her side but not now. Now it was just her and Elena no Salvatore to hiss at her.
Katherine shrugged her shoulders. "Please does it look like I'm Miss Mechanic." she said with a smirk. "I barely know a thing about cars. I do know how to put the fix a flat stuff in a tire and that when the light comes on you take it to the cute guy with all the tool but other then that...Nothing." she said simply. She realized she was actually having a full on conversation with Elena. It was so unlike her to share stuff about herself. "But I hardly have a use for cars unless I'm traveling cross country." she said with an off handed shrug. She was used to running using her vampire speed. But there were some cases where a car just beat running. Especially when she was trying to get the hell away from Klaus.
Katherine nodded her head not a fan of talking about Klaus. "Yes, I'm still avoiding him... I can't wait to see him dead." she said flatly. "But a girl gets lonely and needs a nice visit home." she said with a smile. "Also if I an help in his downfall in anyway then by all means I will help." she said with a smile. "Just as long as it doesn't involve getting tortured again." she said simply clarifying.
Katherine had not forgotten her last encounter with Klaus torturing her. Her smile almost faded at the memory of it all. He was quite the spiteful creature. But she hoped Elijah was around to keep him calm. "So he has fallen for Caroline...good to know my baby vampire is doing so well." she felt the need to have a small visit to her. But immediately decided against it. If Klaus liked her then she knew he probably had his eyes on her. The last thing she needed was to be on his radar.

- - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - -She rolled her eyes, slowly allowing herself to feel a bit more comfortable with the situation, well, as much as she could being that she was talking to her 500 year old ancestor who she looked identical to. “When you’ve been around some of the stuff I have, you learn to ignore sarcasm and take everything personally. Sometimes it’s the difference between catching something that could save your life.” She told her before shaking her head. “There have been quite a few times that Klaus has made a sarcastic comment and I ignored it for sarcasm and it’s come back to help later. So pardon me if I take things personally.” She told her.
Leaning up against the railing behind her she took a deep breath, breathing in the clean air which was surprising since she was near a road. Most of the times the air smelled full of fuel and oil, yet for some reason it smelled simply clean, fresh, free. Maybe it was because for a brief amount of time she was simply alone, well, alone with Katherine but still, she wasn’t around all the craziness between Klaus, the Originals, Stefan, Damon, Lexi, Matt, Caroline and everyone else…she was simply here. It was something that she hadn’t even realized that she needed until she took it in.
“I guess that makes sense.” She told her, knowing that not many girls her age knew about fixing cars. “I guess I can call AAA or I can once again blow up the Salvatore brother’s phones but since apparently neither of them feel like answering hopefully my brother will.” She told her with a laugh, sending Jeremy a text message begging him to come to her rescue since apparently her father had taught him how to change a tire but not her.
“So do you just run everywhere rather than use a car?” She asked, curious to know exactly what she did without one. Sure she understood that she could ask Stefan and Damon all these questions yet it was different for a woman than it was for a man. Men could pretty much go everywhere and not worry about it. Women on the other hand had essentials that they couldn’t or rather wouldn’t live without. Caroline may be a vampire but she hadn’t been around any longer than she had so she wouldn’t know and she could guarantee she’d never go to Rebekah with any questions. So Katherine depending on the mood she was in was her best bet.
“Oh yeah he’s definitely into Caroline.” She told her with a wrinkle of her nose. “It’s actually fairly disturbing since Klaus is the reason that the town has gone to hell. I haven’t actually talked to her enough recently to know if she’s returning his feelings or not but I really hope that’s not the case or else I’m going to have an issue.” She stated, not liking Katherine calling Caroline her baby vampire since essentially Katherine had killed Caroline but letting it go for the sake of not arguing.

----------------------- [/b] -----------------------[/b] Katherine made a face and sighed at Elena. To each there own it seemed but it annoyed her when people took her jokes to seriously. "How dull it must be to read to deeply into every word spoken to you." she said shaking her head. "For me it's simple, Either you want me dead or alive..." she said plainly with a shrug of her shoulders. "It keeps things pretty simple. No need to worry about other secret messages in there words." she said with a nod of her head. She felt like she was imparting some knowledge onto her in some way. But she was sure Elena would not be a fan of it, in one way or another. What a snob.
Katherine was a woman of many talents super strength and speed but cars were not her thing. Maybe she could lift one up but if you asked her to change the oil of a car....she did not have a clue. Hm, maybe she would have to look into fixing that. she was not one who liked to depend on others to much. then again she could always compel herself a new car. But she was more of a stealth kid of girl. Who needed a car.
"Do what you want?" Katherine said waving her hand. She did not care if Elena got a Salvatore to show up or some mechanic. It was Elena's car that was broken down not hers. Now Jeremy on the other hand she might like to see. Sure they were not to friendly since she had killed him and fed from him quite a bit while she was locked in a tomb with him. But hey she did what she had to to survive and get the hell out of there.
"I use a car on occasion it's faster over long distances..." she said with a shrug of her shoulders. "But I tend to be much more subtle when I travel. I hate to leave tracks for someone to follow me." she said with a smirk. Katherine was good at watching people from a distance without there knowledge. It was a talent she was more then happy to have. It came in handy more then anyone would think.
Katherine listened closely as Elena told her about Caroline and Klaus. She shook her head at Klaus having compassion. Something she thought he was incapable of. "Interesting." she said softly. "At least it's something you can use as leverage." she said evenly with the shrug of her shoulder. "Just be careful if Caroline burns him to harshly he will take revenge and she may come out of it like me, with no family." she said warning Elena. "Trust me." she said with a slow sigh.

- - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - - “When you’ve been alive for so long I’m guessing it’s also easier to read between the lines. You’ve got a lot more life experience than most and have met a lot more people.” She told her, honestly coming out in every word. She wasn’t trying to fight, she was actually trying to compliment the older women, something that was rare when it came to either of the Petrova women. “Also you’ve learned how to fend for yourself, how to take care of yourself. You know better than anyone how badly things can get and how quickly they can get that way.” She stated, not mentioning the fact that Katherine also knew when people were manipulating her because she had become a master manipulator herself. No need to stir the pot with that one.
Hearing her answer she thought for a minute before nodding. “I guess that makes sense. What do you do with all your stuff? Do you have a house somewhere like Stefan and Damon do?” She asked, remembering the night that she and Stefan made love the first time and how he had told her that every memory that he wanted to keep was in that room. “I just mean, Stefan and Damon, they have the boarding house, they have their rooms and their stuff so even when they move, they still have a home somewhere. Do you have that? Or because you’ve been running from Klaus for five hundred years have you literally had to just run the entire time?” She asked, not sure why she cared so much but strangely curious about the life of her ancestor.
Hearing Katherine’s warning about Caroline she nodded. “I understand. I remember the story you told me, about your family. Can I ask you a question about that? I understand if you don’t want to answer but I’m just curious. Why did he kill your family? I know because of revenge but you would think that he would want your family line to continue on because of the need for another Petrova doppelganger. Clearly he didn’t succeed since here I am but he thought he did. Did he do it in rage without thinking or did he not believe that another doppelganger would be born?” She asked, hoping she wasn’t overstepping.
“Caroline would do anything to protect her mom. Just like her mom would do anything to protect her. I can’t see that ending well to be honest. Does it end well for any of us? I read in a book somewhere, something about vampires, where they said that “Would you like to hear my story? It doesn't have a happy ending, but which of ours does? If we had happy endings, we'd all be under gravestones now." I remember thinking how morbid that was, but it’s true. Maybe not today, but years from now, Caroline will watch all of us die and she’ll have to live on. She’ll eventually feel like that won’t she?” She asked, not sure why she was asking this woman but knowing that out of everyone there was a good chance that Katherine would be the only one who wouldn’t lie or sugar coat the truth.

----------------------- [/b] -----------------------[/b] Katherine nodded in response to Elena. She had been around for more then a few centuries. So that conclusion could be drawn but honestly she had always been clever enough to just know. Especially with Klaus, which is why she was careful not to be captured by him. But Elena was right she had gained a lot of experience over time on how to handle these things. Or just how to survive in general. 'Well at least someone knows how hard things have been for me." she said with a slight sigh. Damon and Stefan seemed to think she lead a charmed life or something where she was off happy leaving them miserable. It was quite the opposite.
Katherine tilted her head to the side at Elena. "I have friends...but no house." she said with a shrug of her shoulders. "I get what I want when I need it." she said with a smirk. Though she had somethings that she had dear to her hidden away. But she did not travel with them. 'I have places I can stay and hideouts." she shrug. "I would call Mystic Falls my home...it's where I have spent most my time." since she had become a vampire that was. "But I have plenty of places to go." she said with a smile. she was being a bit vague she did not want to be traceable. But it was true.
Katherine did not like the direction the conversation was going. Her family was a personal matter. Those first few weeks as a vampire were harsh her family slaughter. The devastation. But she had learned not to let those feelings rule her. Ruin her. Katherine was not one to be weak or be seen as such. In fact she thought of herself quite the opportunist. "Klaus has never been rational when angry what do you think" she said a bit of venom slipping into her voice.
Katherine brows furrowed as Elena spoke. She quoted some book and it struck Katherine oddly. She had never really given up on her chance at a happy ending but did that mean death? No. Katherine loved being a vampire. She loved the power she had and ached for the freedom she could have without Klaus. "Maybe...." Katherine said thoughtfully. "Maybe not." she said with a sigh. "All most of us want is to be happy...Some get it some don't." she said honestly. "Some of us want to live forever and some want to be human....The ones who want to be human that's there story...That's most vampires stories." she said then shrugged her shoulders. "The only way for you to find out for sure is to become one yourself." she teased winking at Elena. "Why are you so curious hm?" she asked curiously.

- - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - -"I understand you better than you think." She told her, looking into the face of the woman who could be her twin sister. She briefly wondered if since she was technically Katherine's double would they have the same finger prints? Did that mean that she and Katherine both were identical down to every last fiber of the original Petrova? She had never truly thought about the original one until that moment, not wanting to think that there were more of them out there somewhere. It was disturbing enough to look into the face of a woman who should have died five hundred years ago and see the same face that you saw in the mirror every day looking back at you. But to know that there were others that were identical that should have died over a thousand years ago? That was more than Elena had ever truly wanted to process.
“I understand what it’s like to live in constant fear. Sure I may not know the magnitude of what it’s been like for you since I haven’t been on the run for five hundred years…but I do know what it’s like to fear for everyone closest to you. I don’t imagine what you went through when you found out that Klaus had killed your family.” She told her sympathetically, not sure why the two were having a semi civil conversation but actually enjoying being able to talk openly about the things that had been plaguing her for quite a while.
For some reason she felt relief when she heard that Katherine had places to go should she get in trouble. It was strange since there was many times that she would have gladly watched Katherine die because of the crimes that she had committed against those that she cared about but now she was glad to know that she was still alive. Maybe it was because of the fact that Katherine had put herself in the crossfire several times in the past few months in order to impersonate Elena…or maybe it was because other than Jeremy, Katherine was the only blood relative she had left. She didn’t know but she figured it was best not to question it. Hearing the venom in her voice she stopped the line of questioning immediately. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to pry." She stated before turning the subject back to another one, not wanting to anger the elder woman.
She sighed and looked up at the sky for a moment before turning brown eyes upon identical brown eyes. "I'm curious because my best friend is a vampire. I'm curious because my boyfriend's brother is a vampire. I'm curious because my boyfriend is a vampire." She stated as if it were obvious before realizing that there was no way she could hide it. "And I'm curious because realistically I know that if I want a future with any of them, my boyfriend, or my friends...eventually I'll have to be one too...or die before I make that decision. I've thought about it more than I care to admit and I still don't have the answer on what I want. Hence me asking." She told her.

----------------------- [/b] -----------------------[/b] Katherine smiled at Elena and shook her head. "I'll let you think that." she said evenly. She highly doubted her ancestor truly understood her. Sure she had a good idea of this and that. But Katherine kept a lot of secrets and had a lot she had yet to share. She liked being unpredictable and she knew right now she was not her usual self maybe that was it. She would have to fix this whole Elena feeling like she knew her thing. Then again a part of her did really care for her ancestor it was all that was left of her line. Maybe let Elena close was not so bad. She could teach the human a thing or two that was for sure. "I suppose you do understand that aspect of me..." she said with a nod.
Katherine was not completely comfortable with the thought of letting Elena close to her but if Elena trusted Katherine maybe other would as well. "I have to admit I'm not used to playing nice with you...it's...refreshing." she said simply tilting her head to the side. "God! I'm going to need a drink before today is over." she said needing to counteract how nice she was being. Maybe a night out. God she just wanted to have fun. But she knew she had certain affairs to attend to. But her thoughts came to a stop her eyes danced over Elena. "Up for a night of fun?" she asked curiously. She wondered what dear little Elena would say.
Katherine sighed she knew she had been a little harsh in response to Elena about Niklaus. "Sorry, he is a tender subject for me." she said simply. "All had been a pain in my butt." she said rolling her eyes. "That's an understatement." she said raising a hand moving her curly hair about. "I know your his blood bag now but how is he treating you....Ready to run yet or to much holding you here?" she asked already knowing the answer. "I offered you an escape before I can do it again." Katherine teased holding her wrist out to Elena. Very reminiscent to there discussion at the tomb door.
Katherine smiled at Elena's response to her question as to why she was curious. "My you do have the Petrova fire in you." she commented. "To bad you don't use it more often." she said some sarcasm slipping into her voice. 'Anything else I can help you with." she asked leaning her back against the car. "Any knowledge I can impart on you love?" she asked raising an eyebrow to Elena.

- - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - -She couldn’t help but let out a laugh when Katherine muttered something about needing a drink. “As long as you compel the bartender so he doesn’t think it’s me, I’m good with that.” She told her with a laugh. “The last thing I need is for Alaric to come home and start ranting to me about drinking in plain sight of about fifteen witnesses. Then again, Alaric did have a party a few months back with his drunk history students where I think he got more intoxicated than anyone else so maybe he wouldn’t say anything.” She rambled on with a shrug before realizing that she was rambling and laughed. “Sorry, this is awkward.”
“I’m not used to playing nice with you either Katherine, especially since you did try to come here and terrorize my family, but you’ve also helped a lot over the past few months, especially with finding Stefan, and for that I am grateful to you.” She told her, figuring she would bury the hatchet for the time being and at least be honest with her ancestor. “Katherine, I’m only here because your daughter survived. You may not want to think about that and I can’t imagine the pain of losing someone like that, but you gave birth to a child that you loved…and because of your choice to have her, a lot of people have been born thanks to her. So I am not going to pick fights with you anymore over stupid things…at least not if I can help it.” She told her softly.
Hearing her offer she let one out of her own. “Why not? I could use a good few drinks in me. Hell, I bet I know a few others who could. You up for a girls night?” She asked her curiously, briefly wondering if she would be open to meeting up with a couple women that she knew and a couple that she didn’t know yet.
Hearing her question she thought about it for a minute before sighing. “You know, the whole human blood bag thing wouldn’t be as bad if he would just stop taking me against my damn will. It’s not like I won’t give him my blood as long as he keeps up his end of the bargain and doesn’t touch my friends. But no, he has to kidnap me, tie me up, drain some of my blood and then let me go. Does he not understand that I’m not going to run? I didn’t run when I knew he wanted to use me in some freaky sacrifice ritual, and I won’t run now.” She told her ancestor with a frustrated tone.
Hearing her offer she thought about it for another moment before shaking her head. “It’s not like I haven’t thought about it and there may be one day when I take you up on that offer, but today isn’t that day. I like getting a tan way too much for that just yet.” She told her with a wink.
“I do have a few questions…if you don’t mind.” She told her. “I…how did it feel when you were in transition?” She asked her. “I’ve heard Stefan and Damon’s stories…and Caroline’s but there’s are all so different. What about yours?”

----------------------- [/b] -----------------------[/b] Katherine shrugged her shoulders at Elena when she apologized for it being awkward. She did not mind it was not everyday your 500 hundred year old ancestor who looks like your twin hangs out with you. In fact it was a rather uncommon thing so a bit of awkwardness was always expected. "I'll do my best to protect you shiny goodie goodie reputation." she said simply with a smirk.
"Sorry about that. I tend to get pretty violent when I don't get what I want." she said with a sigh. Yes, she could play nice it was possible. But if she was unhappy and could not get what she needed she knew what strings to pull to fix that. Yeah, sometimes that meant violence. But she had cooled it on that front. "I'm great at tracking our wonderful Salvatore's." she said with a smile. but the smiled faded a bit as Elena spoke of her daughter. Katherine was surprised by this peace offering Elena was offering up. It was certainly unexpected. Kathrine looked her over consider if there was something to it. But she already knew that was not the way her doppelganger worked. 'Thank you." she said after a nice pause.
"Girls night? Sure." she said with a smile. "Liquor is a must though." she said wagging her finger not wanting to get jipped on that front. "Oh one thing can we not invite people that hate me. Really not in the mood to have someone around to kill my buzz." she said in afterthought. "Kind of just want to have fun."
"You should be careful Klaus can become quite greedy." she said as a simple warning. 'I mean you have no worries about being killed but it wont belong before he will want to keep you by his side. That man barely trusts his shadow." she said shaking her head. "
Katherine smiled she wondered what vampire Elena would be like. She would love to see that side of her descendant. Katherine pushed those thoughts away. 'Be careful thee may come a day where someone decides for you." she said honestly. "you may have no choice." she said softly. "If you really want to know about my transition buy me a drink and I'll gladly indulge you." she said simply. If this was story time she would much prefer to share this story in a different setting.

- - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - -She thought a moment before laughing a little, though it was more of a forced laugh than anything else. "You know if we would have gotten along in the beginning it would have been fairly easy to explain your appearance to everyone. I had just learned that I was adopted, so it would have been easy to say we were twins." She shrugged her slender shoulders. "However since neither of us have been huge fans of the other it wouldn't work now." She wasn’t sure where the thought had come from but she could easily see it working. No one had seen her mother pregnant and it was legally documented that she was her parents child but since both of her biological parents were dead (as well as her adopted parents) it’s not like anyone was around to dispute the fact that she was not born a single child but a twin.
She couldn't help but laugh when Katherine said that she tended to get violent when she didn't get what she wanted. "I know many girls like that. Granted they don't take it to the extreme that you do but I have seen more than my fair share of cheerleaders throw a pom or two at their football players boyfriends head because they aren't taking them to a dance or something to that affect. It's usually pretty funny." She stated with a roll of her large brown eyes. She could easily remember the one time that Mary had done that to Pete, one of the varsity cheerleader and football player couple, it was amusing since she did it in the middle of a huddle. It had taken everything she, Bonnie and Caroline had not to fall off the pyramid in laughter.
She rolled her eyes again, this time in humor as Katherine spoke about tracking the Salvatore boys. "I will say it hasn't been difficult this time, and let me just say I'm not someone who likes to try and keep track of people. However Stefan with his ripper actions didn't make this time especially hard." She stated. "You're welcome." She replied softly when Katherine thanked her, not used to playing nice with her ancestor but knowing that it was the truth, and if there was one thing that Elena always tried to be, it was truthful.
She nodded with a grin. "Are you kidding me? Liquor is a definite must. A couple of weeks ago we celebrated Caroline's birthday...yeah most people would have cake, candles, all that good stuff. We had that, plus Tequila." She laughed in remembrance. "Plus, we'll all be hot girls in a bar, doubt we'll have to pay for any of it." She stated, motioning to the two of them and then thinking about Bonnie and Caroline, well at least she was until Katherine requested not to be around anyone who hated her. "Okay, no inviting Bonnie. Caroline I doubt will mind, plus I'm sure the Salvatore boys will request her presence as my body guard. At least her or Lexi…and I doubt it’ll be a good idea to get you and Lexi in a room together unless we want a lot of casualties…which I really don’t so Caroline’s definitely the lesser of two evils.”
She nodded at the warning that the older woman was giving her. "I've noticed. I did everything he asked me to do and he still murdered my aunt just because he could. I worry every day that he'll show up and decide he's tired of Mystic Falls and instead wants to go on the road with me as his road trip necessity. Thankfully he can't come in my house but that's about the only place I'm protected from him." She told her softly. “It doesn’t help that he knows my weaknesses…” She trailed off, knowing that Katherine too knew them.
"Alright, I say we do this." She told her as she received a text message from Jeremy saying that he was on his way. "Go home, get all dressed up, and meet at the Underground, the club in Richmond tonight at nine. I'll tell Caroline to meet us there at ten, that'll give me an hour to buy you a drink and hear your story before she shows up. Deal?" She asked her, hoping the answer would be yes.
