It was around six o’clock. This was much earlier in the night than Spike was normally out, but darkness fell faster in the cold winter months, and he had received a message from the little vampire Kathy. At first when he had gotten it, he was a bit shocked, considering what had been revealed on that night he had stormed out of the Boarding House. Between her overprotective brother and what she now knew about him, Spike hadn’t ever expected to hear from the little thing again. But the apparent tone was that of some affection at least, since she said she had missed him. The blond vampire gave it a moment’s thought, and, trying to have a delicacy to his words, replied with an open ended invitation. He didn’t really think that going to visit her at the boarding house would work out well, and he had been told by Buffy that Kath was perfectly capable of going out and about on her own. So when she accepted, Spike mulled on the situation a bit more before suggesting a simple outing at the local food court. It wouldn’t be expensive or complicated, and it seemed suitable for two people who looked around twenty-something and ten. Spike had tried to dress a bit more conservatively, stripping the black polish from his nails, buttoning the deep blue dress shirt he had three-quarters of the way up. His kept his duster, but it was currently hanging on his arm. Some people might still be bothered by the sight of Spike and the young-looking girl together, but probably not enough to call the police. And as long as nothing out of the ordinary happened, Spike wasn’t planning to do anything to draw attention. Even now, the Brit was pretty tranquil as he gazed from shop to shop, inspecting what he thought Kath might like. Despite her true age, she was still a little girl at heart, and Spike supposed that meant she would like sugary things. Just in his line of sight there was an ice cream parlor, a cake and pastry bakery and a proper sweet shop all done up for the holidays in red, green and gold. And there were probably more things beyond his gaze. He’d just have to ask Kath was she fancied today. Digging out his phone from his pocket, Spike absentmindedly checked the time and his texts. He and Kath hadn’t really planned for a set time, but it seemed he had been a little eager. But Spike wasn’t too worried. He had all night to have a little get together with Kathy, do his patrols, and get in a little drink before the sun came up. It felt as if it was going to be the most relaxing night that Spike had had in a while. +++ TAGS: Kathy, Angel WORD COUNT: 470 NOTES: Ohohoho. This should be funny :3

atheryn 'Kathy' Anne O'Connor grinned. She had the perfect plan. It hadn't started out as a plan but it had quickly formed into one. She had text messaged Spike a few days ago telling him that she missed him because she really did. She didn't know why she was so found of the British vampire but she found him oddly funny and soothing. She knew that not a whole lot of people that she had met really liked the blond vampire but she really did. So she didn't care what anyone else thought. Anyway. He had invited her to meet up with him so she decided to take him up on it. Yet, that was only the start of it. Kathy had been talking to Willow and her friend Fred the other day when Fred had mentioned Angel. It was then that she realized that she hadn’t talked to her brother in what seemed like forever. Really they hadn’t’ talked since Connor had showed up. She hadn’t really seen Connor around either but she wasn’t sure if she wanted to so that was okay, for the moment anyway. She realized that she hadn’t seen her brother in awhile what with everything going crazy and Angel being in the doghouse with all the women in his life. She then remembered that Spike and Angel hadn’t seen each other since his alter evil ego had resurfaced, and that was when she had come up with her plan. To make Spike and Angel get along. For. A. Whole. Night. This would be lots and lots of fun. You know, if you were her. Kathy quickly slipped on her black shrug, completing the look she was going for. She knew that if she threw on some heals and a tank top that Angel might have a coronary, and if she knew Spike he might as well. So she settled for somewhere in the middle of little girl and adult. A pair of black skinny jeans that were the most comfortable jeans that she owed surprisingly and a pink jersey dress. She had a cute pair of heals that she would have loved to wear but she doubted her brother would appreciate it so she put on a pair of pink flats with a bow on top, adding a tiny touch of flare. She also wore a pair of dangly pink earrings and a pink bracelet that AJ had bought her in London a few years back. After making sure she was happy with her appearance she quickly snuck into her brother’s room and left him a note on the counter that said where she was and that if he wanted to join her later for some sibling bonding time that he could she then left, going to meet Spike at the cafeteria. It didn't take her long before she spotted him. "SPIKE!" She yelled out, calling attention to herself but not caring. She ran over and threw her arms around his waist, grinning up at him. "Hi!" She grinned at him, hoping he was happy to see her too. Word Count: 541! Tag: Big Vamp Angel! Big Vamp Jr. Spike! Tagged by Baby Vamp! Outfit: Outfit---- Click to see Kathy’s Outfit! Another night and another grueling patrol had forced the vampire to sleep. Despite his daylight ring he found himself still sleeping during the daytime, simply out of habit. It seemed strange to be awake during the hours of sunlight. Even though he had the ring he didn't use it often, much to both Buffy and Katheryn's annoyance. A while back Angel and Buffy had discussed getting Katheryn one as well and having Willow enchant it to be her daylight ring. After a bit of discussion he'd agreed and that was exactly what he planned to give her for Christmas. His plan for Buffy for Christmas would need to be executed as well, and he had several plans for that too. It would all come soon enough as the holiday wasn't too far away now, only about two weeks away.
Opening his eyes slowly he allowed them to adjust to the night quickly before rolling over onto his side. With a quick glance to his alarm clock he realized it was nearly six o' clock. He'd slept nearly the entire day away and it was now night again, having completely missed the hours of daylight. It was no matter, as he didn't care to see them anyways. Moving to a sitting position he stretched out his large arms and clenched the muscles in his hands to fully stretch himself out. Blinking a few more times, he stood up off the bed and headed for his bathroom. On the way he spotted a note from Katheryn inviting him to meet her at the food court at the mall. Putting the note back in it's original spot he went into the bathroom and started the shower.
About ten minutes later he stepped back out, the mirror in the bathroom barely steamed. Towel drying himself and his hair, he wrapped the towel around his waist as he ran some gel through his brown locks. After years of practicing without using a mirror it proved easy nowadays. Once satisfied with that he went back into his bedroom, putting on black slacks, black loafers, and a grey sweater. It was causal and his usual outfit for such an event, and he soon went upstairs. Finding the house empty he assumed most were out doing their Christmas shopping, and left Buffy a quick voicemail to tell her where he'd gone. He wasn't required to check in, but felt it was necessary as he got quite upset when she didn't.
The food court didn't prove to be too far away and he soon parked and made his way into the building. After a quick look around he spotted Katheryn --- and a surprise guest. Immediately his lips turned down into a scowl. Approaching the two he stopped abruptly several feet away from them, despising the public display of affection between the two. He blinked several times, looking from his baby sister and then to Spike, and back and forth before landing his eyes on Katheryn. "What is he doing here?" he asked through gritted teeth, unable to hide the dislike for the other vampire. Clearly she had planned this...and he wasn't too happy about it. He was quite the contrary, really.

Leaning against a large beige support column, Spike began to toy with the random items in his pockets, a pocket knife, his lighter. He had left his cigarettes at the crypt, knowing that Kathy wasn’t fond of him smoking. He could go without for one night. Just after he had pulled his phone from his jean’s pocket for the umpteenth time, a cheerful squeal of his name caught his attention—as well as many of the other diners, but regardless, there Miss O’ Connor was, decked out in black and pink, looking adorable as always. Spike began to close the distance between them, but the little vampire bounded over twice as fast, and sooner than he could react, she had grabbed him. It was a certainly a sweeter greeting than Spike was used to getting, but not a surprising reaction from Kath. ”Hello there, Nibbles.” He smirked back at the young vampire, giving her hair a gentle stroke in a rather sibling-like manner. He might have ruffled it, but he didn’t want to be scolded for messing up Kathy’s coif. So he settled for smoothing down the already silky hair. But soon his hand went from her head to lightly gracing her shoulder, as the scent and furious aura of none other than her thick-headed brother came upon the scene. But Spike wasn’t fazed in the least by Angel’s growls, and he stood his ground. When Kath wanted to move from him would be her decision and hopefully she wouldn’t allow herself to be badgered by her brother. But in any case, Spike merely glared back at his dark-haired Sire seething at them. ”I’m tempted to ask the same question. Or are you just stalking your sister for fun?” The blond muttered, adding his rhetorical question just to see if it would bother Angel. Spike then looked to the more probable reason why the two rivals were here. However, he regarded Kathy with a more playful tone, crossing his arms, ”What’s going on here, you little devil?”But regardless of what Angel was doing there, Spike thought that the evening out shouldn’t be ruined by his presence. His focus was solely on Kath, since this night really was about her. ”What’cha think, pet? Anything strike your fancy? “ He made a gesture to some of the shops he was inspecting beforehand. Although, perhaps that wasn’t what Kathy was interested in at all. It was Spike’s first time here, after all, and he didn’t know a thing about what Kath liked. Some vampires didn’t even like any human food, though Spike was a major exception to that rule. But for some reason, he felt as if Kath didn’t belong in that group. For a vampire, she seemed much too human at times. Perhaps that was because she had never lost her soul. The Brit looked back up to Angel before his sister had made her decision, his voice flipping back to a sour rumble, ”If you decide to come along, I’m not treating you.” +++ TAGS: Kathy, Angel WORD COUNT: 503 NOTES: Sorry it's a bit on the short side, but I kept falling asleep during writing.... :<

atheryn 'Kathy' Anne O'Connor grinned. The brunette vampire relished in the nickname as well as the affectionate gesture that Spike gave her. He was more physically affectionate than Angel was sometimes and that was something that at the moment the young vampire needed. She didn't hear the growls coming from her older brother until she felt Spike tense up. Turning around though still standing in front of Spike she grinned at the furious vampire. Now most would probably have run in the opposite direction with the look that Angel shot her but she merely grinned. “Wow, right on time.” She told him, ignoring both of their questions. She could tell by the teasing tone that Spike wasn't mad at her, so it was just Angel. And Angel seemed to always be mad these days so it really wasn't that much of a surprise. "Well see I figured you two hadn't seen each other in awhile and since you are technically family I figured we could have a family outing." She told Spike before peaking at her older brother. She gave him a small pout and walked over to him, her face pulling down into a frown. "You're not mad at me are you Angel? I just wanted to hang out with my two favorite guys." Okay, so she was laying it on thick but really could anyone blame her? She wanted to spend time with Spike but she also wanted to mend bridges with her older brother. There was also that tiny part that yelled to her that she was doing this because she was afraid to be alone with Angel right now. Not because she was afraid of him in the physical sense but because she didn’t want to hear how much he cared about his son and not her. She couldn’t take that. Turning back to Spike she grinned at his question. “I say we go win a couple stuffed animals from the arcade. I bet some of the girls at the boarding house would like them, what do you guys think?” She asked, nodding over at the arcade that was right near the chocolate shop. Okay so she might have also wanted a few pieces of chocolate but that was neither here nor there. She’d get that later, after she won a few stuffed animals for herself as well as some of the girls. She’d also try and talk her brother into winning one for Buffy, but after hearing their fight the other night she wasn’t sure if that would happen. Word Count: 457! Tag: Big Vamp Angel! The look of disgust on Angel’s face shone through very easily. He didn’t make any attempts to hide it, as it was no secret that he and the blonde didn’t get along. They truly never had, not even when they’d been the Fanged Four. Even then they’d had a rivalry and to this day it still hadn’t ever gotten any better. After finding out the stunt that Spike had attempted to pull on Buffy he didn’t feel like he’d ever think of Spike any differently than he did now. Nothing could change all of the bad blood between them, not even sweet little Katheryn. However it was quite apparent that it’d been her intentions to do just that…he could tell by the guilty look on her face.
At the accusation of being a stalker, he simply shot the blonde a look as if not to tempt him. He’d like nothing more than to hit the vampire at the moment but he wouldn’t do it in front of Katheryn. No, he’d wait until later when the blonde wouldn’t be expecting it. Right now he knew he needed to behave because of her and even though it felt like sucking down his own pride, he knew it had to be done. ”I think we’ve been duped” Angel said to Spike, though his brown eyes never left his sister. It shouldn’t have been so surprising that she’d pull a stunt such as this. After all the girl was nothing if not persistent and she’d wanted them to get along for awhile now. It wasn’t going to happen regardless but he did truly admire her efforts.
Family outing…Well she was humorous, wasn’t she. ”Nicely played” he grumbled, again through gritted teeth. Obviously she’d planned this out perfectly and she did deserve credit for that. The mere audacity of it all showed how brave she was, not only brave but persistent as well. Watching her leave the blonde and walk over to stand in front of him, he peered down at her and couldn’t help but melt at her frown. Damn her… She always seemed to get him with her pouty faces. ”No, I’m not” he spoke begrudgingly. He was slightly perturbed but it wasn’t anything he couldn’t get over. Plus he had bigger fish to fry at the moment besides Spike anyways, Glory mainly, so he figured he’d let this one slide. He could suck up his pride for a couple of hours spent with his sister.
With an annoyed look to Spike, he ignored his snide comment and frowned in return to his little sister. ”Do I have to?” Angel asked, never having been one for ‘games’. At the look on her face he resigned and signaled for her to lead. His eyes traveled to Spike, seemingly just glaring at him as the three strolled through the corridor. The three of them probably looked very odd to any outsiders…And it definitely felt foreign as well. Hopefully it would be over soon enough and he could go back to a life without Spike.

It was hard for Spike to not grin from ear to ear as Angel fumed. The dichotomy of the siblings’ reaction to him was actually quite entertaining, Kathy’s sweetness contrasting heavily against Angel’s bitter gaze. Still, the blond vampire couldn’t help but have a small smirk on his face and a certain proud glint in his eyes. Though it didn’t really appeal to him to be forced to spend time with her brother, having Kath make a fool the bloke was awfully funny. He gave a dry little chuckle to his Sire stating the obvious about how they had been duped, much more amused by the little vampire’s trickery than her brother. ”She must have gotten the brains of the family.” He quipped back. With the Brit’s flat tone, it was hard to discern if he just meant Angel or the pair of them, counting the vampire lineage. Truth be told, Spike had never counted himself among the very clever, but it wasn’t as if he was going to elaborate. Also, it suited his mood to praise Kathy for her mischief. However, the smirk he had faded a bit when the small vampire explained herself. There really was a reason that the two of them hadn’t seen each other, and although Spike doubted it would be brought up to keep Kathy happy, he wondered if she could even comprehend how deep their dislike of each other ran. It didn’t matter, though. She was right that they were ‘family’ in a way, and family had to deal with each other even when they didn’t want to. That’s why Spike was going to behave… as much as he could, anyway. Besides, watching Angel squirm under his baby sister’s thumb was a treat. Plushes. It wasn’t a surprise that was what Kathy would consider a nice present. He was perfectly content to go along with the little vampire’s plans, but he wasn’t sure how many of the potentials would like stuffed animals. As far as he knew, the baby Slayers liked kicking the crap out of each other and some pop star named Justin Bibber. He knew for certain that Faith would laugh in his face if he attempted to give her something like that. Maybe he could pick one up for Vi as further proof of apology. Or he could just win several for Kath, who would appreciate them the most. It wasn’t what he thought they would do, but Spike liked games to a certain extent. He gave a light shrug and gave a nod, ”Sounds fine to me.” and only rolled his eyes at Angel’s sullenness. Letting Kathy take the lead, Spike and Angel kept a pretty even pace with each other following the little vamp. The blond vampire was the antithesis of his grandsire, not even letting Angel’s glares affect him too much. It was pretty much obvious that he was fretting about appearances, but Spike had never cared much for changing his ways to cater to someone else. And, really, the more awkward Angel made this, the more people were going to notice them. As they entered the arcade, Spike shuffled through his pockets for small bills and change, and looked at the options they had. Mostly, it was classic games, a few beat-em-ups and shooters in the back corner, some racing type things, pinball machines, and, finally, his eye landed on a collection of crane claw games lined up on one of the walls. There were other plushies available as prizes, but Spike figured that the crane games would be better, rather than spending hours trying to win tickets. But either way, he had no idea what stuffed animals were considered cute or popular, and Angel would even be more in the dark, so he turned his gaze to Kathy and held out a ten dollar bill, unsure if the girl had brought her own money, ”Right then. Frolic to your heart’s content.” Moving further to look at the crane machines, the blond vampire stopped at one particular game, where one of the plushes had caught his eye. It was a little penguin, with spiked ‘hair’ and a serious expression, ”Hey, it’s you in penguin form,” Spike called back to Angel, his gleeful manner completely untempered, ”That’s pretty much what you looked like as a puppet.”+++ TAGS: Kath, Angel WORD COUNT: 719 NOTES: Angel penguin???

atheryn 'Kathy' Anne O'Connor grinned. Okay so maybe her using her pouty face was a tiny bit manipulative but could anyone really blame her? Her older brother had a head that was hard as steel and sometimes he needed a tiny push to see things more clearly. Angel had a tendency to think he knew everything and while she would admit that he knew a lot (even when he was a human and thought more about the pub than what he was going to do with his life he knew more than the average person) but he didn’t know everything so sometimes she had to be sneaky to get him to see the real truth right in front of him. Kathy heard Angel tell Spike that they’d been duped and she gave him a huge wide eyed look. “Who me?” She asked, her tone full of innocence that anyone who knew the young girl would see straight through. She may be innocent and a sweet person but she had lived two hundred plus years by herself and she had to find a way to get by. She knew how the manipulate the situation when it was called for and this was one of those times, though she did feel a tiny bit guilty for doing it to her brother and Spike. Kathy giggled at Spike when he said that she had gotten the brains of the family. “Are you insulting yourself too or just the biological family? Either way I think we are all pretty darn smart.” She told him, sticking up for both Angel and him. She giggled at Angel’s obvious distaste for her ‘family outing’ which didn’t surprise her. Angel was a dark person for the most part so it was almost comical to see him in the middle of all the craziness that the arcade was known for. She knew he would hate it but she hoped he would suck it up for her. She would have asked what he wanted to do but she knew he wouldn’t tell her. Maybe she’d follow him out to the cemetery one night and help him kill vampires. No, she’d be hidden in a tree and might watch but she’d never help. She was too scared for all that. Apparently her pout still worked like a charm on it just as it had when they were humans because she could see his eyes soften when he looked down at her. Had he always been that tall? For some reason looking directly up at him he seemed about 10 feet tall rather than just over six foot. Hmm. Something to examine later. She grinned and threw her arms around her brother, giving him a quick squeeze. “Thanks Angel!” She told him. She grabbed his hand and dragged him over to where Spike was and then grabbed Spike’s hand, dragging them towards the games. She didn’t even realize that she was actually showing a little more strength than normal, though it was doubtful that anyone would notice. Seeing Spike holding out money she shook her head though she did send him a beaming smile. “Thanks Spike but I got it.” She told him, holding out her debit card. The games had a debit card slot in them she had noticed a few weeks ago when she had come here with AJ. Skipping over to the ski ball area she shot a look over her shoulder. “Why don’t one of you try to win a game or two? Show people how it’s done.” She stated innocently, noticing that both were simply standing around looking awkward. Maybe after she won a couple games she’d drag them someplace else. Word Count: 647! At least someone was enjoying the fact that they'd been tricked. Spike seemed to find it absolutely hysterical that they'd both been made a fool. Had he forgotten that he'd been tricked as well? It wasn't only Angel, they'd both been led to believe that they'd be spending a day with Katheryn only. Nonetheless the vampire cut his eyes to his Grand Childe at his snide comment. Eyebrows lowered and his head cocked to the side. "And I the looks. What happened to you?" Angel quipped right back, for once taking the bait and firing back. Usually he didn't like to encourage such childishness but he was feeling pretty childish himself. Spike seemed to always bring that out in him. The two always had some sort of distasteful witty banter going on. He would keep it to a bearable level though for the sake of Katheryn, otherwise he would have been much more vocal about his dislike for the man standing beside his sister.
As they entered the arcade Angel immediately began to feel out of place. There were children everywhere...for a moment he couldn't remember ever seeing so many in one place. They were running rampant and he soon found himself trying to locate their parents. And they all looked...sticky. He shuddered at the mere thought of how dirty their hands must be as they were sticking them absolutely everywhere. Angel had always been a very clean person and it drove him up the wall to see such a sight. However for Katheryn's face he attempted not to have such an awkward look on his face. Hearing her giggle made a small half smile appear. Her laugh was so...precious. It'd always made him smile.
Angel simply smiled down to his sister as she grabbed his hand. However as she grabbed Spike's, Angel couldn't help but lean back slightly over her head so that she wouldn't see and grimace at him. What she couldn't see obviously wouldn't hurt her. Simply staring at her as she pulled out a debt card he couldn't help but raise his eyebrows. Since when did she have a bank account? And where did her money come from? He wasn't sure but he also didn't know if he wanted to truly find out.
Watching Spike go over to the crane games, he couldn't help but go with him to watch. Amused he watched as he started moving the crane around. As the stuffed animal dropped and Spike picked it up full of glee, Angel simply furrowed his brows at him. "Oh c'mon. I was a way better looking puppet than that!" Angel exclaimed, throwing his hands up out of frustration. Stifling down a laugh he simply shook his head. Spotting Katheryn headed to play some games of her own, Angel strutted off in her direction. Angel, a penguin? Laughable. Not to mention totally outrageous...though he'd almost laughed. Almost.
Once he made it over to Katheryn and her ski ball machine, he watched her throw a couple of balls before reaching into his pocket. Pulling out a couple of quarters he slid his eyes to his Grande Childe. "Tell anyone about this and you're blowing in the wind" he warned in a low voice. With this, he watched Katheryn once more and then picked up his own ball. Throwing it into the middle ring he immediately scored perfectly. And then it happened. Angel actually smiled...And he threw another ball and scored right in the middle. It was easier than he'd thought. The smile on his face only seemed to grow wider and it was so odd...so innocent, and playful looking. It didn't seem right on his face and yet seemed perfect all at the same time. He was enjoying himself, despite the fact that he'd been fooled.

The more Kath giggled, the more Spike was convinced it had some kind of magical property to it. While Spike was certainly charmed by the little vampire’s seemingly limitless fervor and brightness, it seemed that Angel could hardly resist the slightest plea. Although, his sire seemed to not be completely tamed by his little sister, since he surprisingly played right along with Spike’s provoking him. Although he felt his teeth grind together for a second, the blond soon had his reply, his voice flat and terse, ”And yet you’re still--” He was about to say ‘not able to get laid’, but the British vamp glanced down at Kathy. He wasn’t sure how she really would feel about that. She was a three-hundred year old preteen, so Spike supposed it was anyone’s guess. Instead he just quickly cleared his throat and said the next best option, ”—as boring as a piece of plywood.” As Kathy asked him to clarify exactly what he had meant by ‘the family’, Spike only smirked, as if he was keeping a secret. Though it was very cute of her to suggest that they were all smart. It didn’t bother Spike at all to be drug around by Kath, since he had long gotten used to it from when he had been her ‘day time baby-sitter’. Although, as his eyes lifted up towards the other vampire ensnared in Kathy’s grip and saw his death glare, Spike couldn’t help but give an inaudible sigh and look up to the ceiling for a bit. If only Angel could just pull the stick out of his arse for one second and learn that just because he loved someone didn’t make them his exclusive property. Well, realistically he probably didn’t think that, but Angel’s shitty attitude was making it harder for Spike to stay playful and bright, despite Kath’s bubbly personality. It was a little surprising to Spike as well that Kath pulled out a debit card and refused his money. Not really from the viewpoint that Kathy had a debit card and such—he recalled that she made a decent amount of money as a children’s author. But when had arcades ever taken anything but quarters? It must have been quite a while since Spike had set foot in one of these types of places. In any case, he took the money and used it at the crane machine. It was more than surprising, in fact, perhaps slightly bizarre, that Angel followed him to watch. Then again, Spike was the only person in sight that looked over fifteen, so maybe it wasn’t as unexplained. When the child wasn’t related to him or having to be saved, Angel seemed a bit unsure with what to do with them. In any case, he won the Angel-Penguin and presented it to Angel. His sire’s reaction was pretty much priceless and Spike had to bite his lip to keep from bursting out laughing, although a snicker escaped. Once the area became a bit crowded, the blond vampire rejoined Kathy and her brother, the Angel-Penguin tucked under his arm. Spike was no stranger to Ski-ball, the game appearing in a few random clubs and bars he had visited, but he just stood still and watched for a while, until the little vampire pointed out how awkward they were being. ”Making us do the work while you reap the stuffed rewards, eh?” Spike lightly teased Kathy. His amused smile just got bigger when Angel picked up a ball, though his comment just made Spike cluck his tongue, ”Oh, yeah. ‘Cause God forbid anyone know you once had fun.” Because, by the look on his face, Angel was having fun. Probably not ‘perfect-happiness’ fun, but it was a refreshing change of pace to see him not be such a stuffy hard-ass. Perhaps having his little sister there was a big enough positive stroke to make him forget that Spike was standing nearly right next to him. +++ TAGS: Kathy, Angel WORD COUNT: 661 NOTES: ~

atheryn 'Kathy' Anne O'Connor was very entertained. She didn’t know why the knowledge that Angel and Spike were playing games at an arcade willingly (sort of) made her so entertained but it really gave her a chuckle. These two dark men, one who looked like a rock star and the other who looked like a dark GQ model were in an arcade filled with children and teenagers playing games with a young looking girl just because she gave them the pouty face. Ahhh, it was good being a child at times. At least she got away with things that no one else would. At least with Angel, Spike would have probably let anyone get away with it since he knew it annoyed Angel. She had already seen numerous different women and men alike staring at her brother and her sibling of some sort. Wait. What did this make Spike to her? Angel was Spike’s sire’s sire. Darla->Angel->Drusilla->Spike Darla-> Kathy So technically she was Spike's great grand aunt if you considered Spike Angel's grandson since he was his great grand sire. Wait. No. Ugh. Never mind. This sire thing was much too confusing for the baby vampire. She saw Angel get a perfect score on the ski-ball game and so she did what any other eleven year old would do. She stuck her tongue out at him though she didn’t know if he caught her or not. She deicded to ignore her older brother and continue on with the game she wanted to play. She stood in line for the basketball toss and not too long after she did she heard a voice from behind her. When she turned around she was met by a pair of big green eyes and a smile. “Hi.” She told him. The boy looked to be about fifteen. Brown hair, tall and green eyes. Want to play air hockey with me? She had never been a fan of air hockey because to put it bluntly she was not very good at it. No, more bluntly. She sucked at it. Before she answered she shot a quick look to her brother and then another one at Spike. It didn’t look like either of them were paying attention o her so she nodded with a grin. “Sure!” She told the boy. “I’m Kathy by the way.” She introduced herself. I’m Nick. She really wanted to play with someone around her own age though she didn’t know if she’d get away with it for long before Spike or Angel caught her. Oh well, might as well live for the now. Judging by the way the blonde cut his words off so abruptly and looked down to Katheryn, Angel was guessing whatever he had to say wasn't too appropriate. He wasn't sure what it could have been but he glared at the vampire regardless, and then a confused look came onto his features and he pretended to shield his eyes from Spike. "I'm sorry, what did you say? I was blinded by your hair" Angel said, before lowering his hands and allowing a smug smirk to crawl onto his features. While it wasn't the nicest thing to say and Buffy probably would have slapped him, Katheryn probably would too, it wasn't the meanest thing he could say.
It actually seemed...slightly playful. The two sort of seemed like they had been back in Los Angeles. Tolerant of each other with the dislike still apparent, but not quite as seething as it had once been. There was still a lot that Angel hated about what Spike had done. However unfortunately, it was too late for him to do anything about it now. Seeing him with Katheryn helped in Angel's opinion too, and for the first time in months, he didn't want to rip the blonde's head off. It was actually like a weight had been lifted off his shoulders. Seething hate definitely tended to bring a person down and Angel was sick of feeling that way. Clearly Spike had done things that he hated but so far, he hadn't recently done much to piss him off. Perhaps he'd give the man a chance after all.
"Exactly." Although it was half joking, it was also half serious. He truly didn't want anyone to know that he could occasionally have fun. Angel was the brooding type. It was what he did, who he was, and he couldn't change that and wouldn't change that. However today was an odd day to begin with and clearly it wasn't going to change any time soon. So, the vampire figured he might as well roll with it. With a shrug he turned back to his game and then grabbed the ball that had fallen. Another toss and he scored again, the game lighting up and spitting out some sort of tickets. Angel picked up the tickets in his hand, confused as to what they were for, and edged over to hand them to his sister.
As he did, he watched her stick her tongue out at him and he simply chuckled. Yeah...chuckled. Even though it felt odd coming from his hearty chest, it was a rather nice feeling. Placing the tickets on top of the coin feeder slot, he inserted a couple more quarters and continued on with another game. Both him and Spike were now basically competing though they were trying not to seem as if they were. Sometime in the midst, Katheryn slipped away. Pulling out the tickets from his second game his eyes looked around wildly to find her playing air hockey with some boy. Some older boy. Moving closer to Spike, tickets in hand, he nudged the other vampire in the ribs. "Should we tell him to get lost?" he said, inclining his head in the direction of his little sister. Leaning up against the wall between machines he looked back and forth between Spike and Katheryn. All the while, his fists remained clenched.

It was very surprising that Spike did not get in a reply to Angel’s last retort about the younger vampire’s hair color. Not because Spike had no reply—he had dozens, from pointing out that Angel’s eye sight problem came from inhaling too much hairspray, or something else relating to the sweater that would probably look better suited to Rupert. Everyone knew that William and Liam could argue for hours on end about nothing, just both too stubborn to back down. But there was something holding his tongue (figuratively), as the little vampire Kathy was now holding both Spike’s and his sire’s hands and dragging them away. It seemed like arguing over her head as she bounded off with them would ruin Kath’s good mood, so Spike paused the argument for now. It didn’t necessarily mean it was over—just on hold. Though he wasn’t about to portray this in anyway, this banter was a bit more entertaining than the normal way the blond and his grandsire interacted. At the machine next over, Spike was a bit less intense in his game than Angel seemed to be, though there was certainly was the aura of a competition. Although, with their supernatural reflexes and skill, it was pretty much a cakewalk for both vampires to get perfect scores, and the tickets flowed out of the games again and again. Though Angel didn’t seem to notice, Spike did pick up on the fact that the few adults that were in or passed by the arcade were likely to stare at them. It was hard to say if they were picking up on their good looks or the ridiculousness of them playing carny games, or both, but Spike simply decided to ignore it. Even if he was looking for someone to flirt with, he could only imagine the types he would find here would be severely disappointing. He was still concentrating on winning those few last tickets, when he felt a jab to his chest. He was ready to snap at the elder vampire when Angel spoke first, and Spike shifted his eyes over to where Kath had gone off to—where she was talking to a boy. One of his eyebrows quirked, intrigued by both Kathy showing signs of being a little more than a child, and also Angel asking for clarity. Spike turned back to his grandsire, a slightly bemused look spreading across his features, ”You’re asking me for advice. I’m touched.”Shifting to place his hands in his pockets, looking completely relaxed in contrast to Angel’s livid anger, Spike gave a little shrug before he spoke, ”Thing is, Kath can’t exactly make friends her own age, can she? And she also got on fine for two hundred years without you beating away every bloke who talked to her to a pulp. She’ll be fine.” Spike looked back to the boy for a minute. He seemed like a normal teen—maybe a bit older than Kath’s apparent age, but then again, Kath was truly the older one there. If she wanted to duck out suddenly, Spike knew Kath was clever enough to do so, ”Leave ‘em be for a minute and take the stick out of your arse. You don’t need to poke your nose into her business all the time.” There was a small pause as Spike thought of one last thing to say, and he lowered his voice and turned his head to avoid Kath hearing as much as possible, ”Unless he touches her. Then we break his fingers.” +++ TAGS: Kathy, Angel WORD COUNT: 590 NOTES: Spike gives great advice :3

atheryn 'Kathy' Anne O'Connor laughed. For some reason she was quite entertained by the bickering between Angel and Spike. She was aware that neither vampire truly liked the other one but they were family and if she had anything to say about it they would eventually get along famously. Yes, she realized that she had a long way to go. If anyone tried to tell her though that it couldn’t happen she’d tell them to let her continue to live in her fantasy world for as long as possible. She was a dreamer now, had been has a human and would continue to be one. That was just the way that she was. After she snuck off she headed towards the air hockey table with the boy, Nick. He was a nice boy but he kept looking at her weird. She looked down at herself self consciously but couldn’t see anything wrong with what she was wearing. She had never been the type to hang all over boys, even as a human because back then while still wearing dresses and shoes she had been somewhat of a tomboy. She had idolized her brother even back then meaning that anything boys could do she had learned to do better. After Nick had beat her twice, she had tried to tell him that she wasn’t good at air hockey, they called a truce and decided to play something else. They went over to the basketball toss which was where they met in the first place and Nick went first. He scored two out of three baskets to which Kathy came him a high five. When it was her turn she scored three out of three and earned herself a free round. When she scored all three of those as well she got a plethora of tickets, leading to her tiny victory dance while she had fun. Unfortunately Nick didn’t see it the way that she did since he walked right up to her and placed a kiss on her lips to which the young vampire froze before pushing him away and wiping her lips. “Ew.” She told him with a glare, her hands on her hips in a typical teenage pose. “Why did you do that?” She asked him, knowing exactly why he had (she was over two hundred) but that didn’t mean she had to like it. She really hoped that her brother or Spike hadn’t seen that, it wouldn’t be good. Word Count: 451! Tag: Big Vamp Angel! Big Vamp Jr. Spike! Tagged by Baby Vamp! Rolling his eyes to his Grand Chile, he waited for him to actually offer up some form of advice. What would be touching would be if Angel were to finally stake the vampire. Him asking what to do on some boy talking to Katheryn, that wasn't touching. After having been without his sister for so long it seemed hard to get back into the swing of things. Plus he remembered how she'd acted when he'd shooed away the boy at the Water park. She'd been upset, and had thrown a hissy fit. No matter how much he loved her that hadn't been very enjoyable. Even Buffy was known to throw one every once in a while. Temper tantrums weren't his thing, but neither were boys talking to his sister. What was a vampire to do in such situations? His head was spinning with ideas, none of which seemed to be the right one.
Nodding his head, he still seemed strained. "You're right." Honestly, that was something he never thought would leave his lips. In his history Spike was never right. Yet he seemed to have the handle on their current situation, more so than Angel. Katheryn was over two hundred years old and stuck in the body of an eleven year old...It had to be tough and he knew that. It still bugged him but honestly he knew he occasionally had to let some things go. Besides, they were only several feet away if she ended up needing them. They'd be on the boy before she even finished saying their names, and that was a legitimate claim.
A tiny smirk creeping onto his features he chuckled. "Maybe his legs, too." Breaking a child's legs probably sounded quite sadistic. However if the boy really did touch his baby sister than it would probably happen. It was enough that he was even letting their conversation continue, he couldn't help his thoughts as he watched all of it.
The entire time Katheryn played with the boy, Angel continued to watch them. He wasn't staring at them like a creep or anything but 'occasionally' glancing back their way. After all, he didn't want to deal with the cops being called on him at the moment. Not only would it ruin their night out but it would ruin all of their moods as well. Watching Katheryn do her victory dance caused him to smile, but it disappeared quickly when the boy kissed her. Unable to stop himself he was in front of the boy inhumanly fast, his hand grabbing the boy's collar of his shirt. "Beat it" he said, nearly lifting the boy off the ground. He then set him back down, again not wanting the cops to be called. Rounding on Katheryn he scowled. "Stay away from boys. Got it?" His voice sounded like that of a father. Even if she was as old as he was, it still seemed that he at times treated her like a little girl. More than anything though, he just wanted to protect her.
