Biting his lip to hold back a broad, shit-eating grin, Spike could hardly believe the words coming from his sire’s mouth. ”I’m sorry, come again?” He asked, though he knew that Angel wasn’t going to repeat the words back to him. Angel had taken his advice in the past, but he usually accepted it with a grunt or maybe a nod. Or maybe he had actually conceded that Spike had more going for him than writing poems and Spike just had lost it among the many battles of the near two-hundred year war that they had going between them. In either case, the concession was a nice little victory in Spike’s mind. But it figured. Despite his incapacity to keep them himself, Spike did seem to be relatively intuitive about all things concerning love and relationships, as well as how to treat children with a bit of respect and trust. Both Angel and Buffy were often quite overprotective of the girls in their care, and though understandable, it did put certain stresses on their relationships. The blond vampire gave a small nod to Angel’s addition of what body parts to break should the boy cross certain boundaries, amused that he and his grandsire enjoyed talking to each other only if the conversation was about who to protect or how to torture people. He seemed to remember something about shoving arrows up people’s asses way back when. Still, Angel was keeping a close enough eye on them, and Spike returned to collecting a few more tickets. Every so often, the blond would also glance over, more to watch Kath being cute rather than her -brother’s hawk eyes watching the boy for any foul play. For the most part, it seemed pretty innocent to Spike’s eyes—they were just playing little arcade games together. And after all, the two had just met, how far could things really get? And that’s when he felt Angel take off like a shot, and instinctively the younger vampire followed at the same speed arriving just as blindingly fast as Angel grabbed the boy by his shirt. There was nothing to be said other than Angel’s growl of a threat, and if the young man tried to defy it, he was either crazy or very, very stupid. Spike didn’t have anything else to add, but he supported the idea that they run the boy off, so while Angel reprimanded his baby sister, the British vamp stared balefully at ‘Nick’ with dark, ominous eyes, the type of glare that was so cold that it made one fear what the glarer was thinking. Perhaps it was a bit less threatening considering a penguin plush was still under his arm, but he expected to see the back of the boy’s head soon. Although, disregarding the offending child, Kath and her brother for a moment, Spike was beginning to pick up people staring at them again. And this time, it definitely was more about what they had just done rather than their good looks or what they were doing in a children’s arcade. Looking over to the other two vampires, he jerked his head towards the entrance, ”I think we’ve pretty much won enough tickets to get a menagerie going… and worn out our welcome here.” He wasn’t sure if Kath wanted to call it a day yet, but it was pretty evident that the few parents that were here seemed a bit upset by two strange men suddenly hoisting teenagers onto their tiptoes. +++ TAGS: Kathy, Angel WORD COUNT: 583 NOTES: ~

atheryn 'Kathy' Anne O'Connor glared. This boy clearly didn’t know who he was dealing with. Sure she may be a tiny little thing and she might be weak on vampire standards but that didn’t mean she couldn’t beat up a regular 15 year old boy such as the one standing in front of her. She was never a violent person as she had always had her sunny disposition and her eleven year old little girl attitude but that didn’t mean that she was going to let someone kiss her and get away with it. No sir-e did that mean she would let someone make her mad and not get even. Unfortunately the tiny vampire's fun was ruined as before she could even begin to say another word her older brother was there in all his furious glory. She watched with wide blue eyes as he literally picked the boy up and told him to get away. She was quite sure that he was done but she was wrong, instead he turned to her and all but growled at her telling her to stay away from boys. Hmmph! She gave him a tiny glare that would do nothing other than make most people laugh but she didn't have to know that. Unfortunately the concern in his eyes won her over and she pouted for effect. “Fine.” She told him with a sad look. “Why do boys have to be such creeps?” She asked, not really asking either Spike nor Angel, really just wanting to get that out there. She looked around after Spike said that they had worn out their welcome. “Stupid boys, always have to ruin everything.” She stated, stomping her little foot and looking exactly like the eleven year she was resembled rather than the mature vampire that she could often emanate. “I say we cash in our tickets and then go somewhere that’s not here.” She told them, skipping along to the ticket counter and doing just as she said. Once she had gotten weighed down with stuffed animals (and given a few for Spike and Angel to carry as well) she made her way outside, tensing as soon as she hit the colder air but not because of the cold. Her senses, while not trained to detect danger still could sense when another vampire was around. She had learned to get used to it around her brother and Spike but this was different. “Uhh…guys? I think we might have trouble.” She told them, pointing a little down the way as a group of about ten vampires made their way towards the arcade. This was not turning into the night that she had anticipated. Word Count: 478! Tag: Big Vamp Angel! Big Vamp Jr. Spike! Tagged by Baby Vamp! Outfit: Outfit---- Click to see Kathy’s Outfit! Despite the fact that Angel had in fact heard Spike, he chose not to reply. In fact he acted as if he hadn't heard him in the slightest. Angel wasn't going to repeat the fact that Spike had been right for once in his entire life. Hell it'd been hard enough to choke down the words in the first place. They certainly wouldn't be easy to say again. Not to mention the fact that the blonde vampire was simply being immature by trying to get him to say it twice.
It was no matter, within seconds he was dropping the young boy to the ground and rounding on Katheryn with a growl. Perhaps he shouldn't have been so curt with her, as he knew how easily she got frightened. She'd never been frightened of him though only Angelus and he hoped it didn't negatively effect her. He simply couldn't help it. He thought of her as his own daughter and he wasn't going to sit back while some boy made the moves on her. Boys were dirty, rotten beings that only wanted one thing and one thing only. Not to mention the fact that he was plenty older physically than Katheryn. While she didn't care about that, the boy should have realized how young she looked and given up chase. But he hadn't. Not until he'd been forced to, that is.
"We were never really welcome here...but you're right" he said, and then immediately regretted those words. He'd said it again! Damn it. This mall place was not a good place...It was too..sunshine-y here and it was effecting him badly. Quickly changing the subject, he looked down to Katheryn and pushed some of the hair out of her eyes. "It's in their blood" he stated softly, trying to keep his voice down as they spoke about the boys. Not that this Nick fellow was gone he needed to relax a bit. With the scene he'd just performed he doubted they'd have any other trouble with boys tonight. At least not if he had anything to say about it...
With a nod they all went to the ticket counter, handing them all over to Kathy as she picked out some stuffed animals. Carrying several in his own arms they turned to see a group of vampires approaching the arcade. It just figured. The arcade meant a lot of children...Which meant tasty snacks for those lacking a soul and the ability to catch a tan. With an annoyed grunt he set all of the stuffed animals on top of an empty pool table, and then grabbed two cues. He tossed one to Spike and kept the other, before leaning down to his boot and retrieving a stake. He gave the stake to Kathy and motioned for her to go underneath the table. "We'll be right here. If anyone comes near you...Remember, hit the heart." Leaning down and planting a swift kiss to her forehead, he dove into the fray with Spike at his side, both of them wielding pool cues.

atheryn 'Kathy' Anne O'Connor gasped. She sat up quickly and looked around her room, her chest heaving as she took unnecessary breaths. She had never quite gotten over the whole ‘not being human thing’ so even though she never truly needed to breathe she still did it just as a human would. She also knew that if she would have still been alive that her heart would have been racing. It had been quite a while since she had nightmares such as the one she just did but it didn’t surprise her that she was having them now…didn’t surprise her at all. Her brother had recently left on an trip that could take days, weeks or even months…the time and duration were unknown to everyone but him and that was the way that he had wanted it. She had said goodbye to him and held her tears at bay until he had left where she promptly went downstairs and cried herself to sleep. It was silly she knew since he would be back when he could but she hadn’t been separated from him since they had been reunited and she didn’t feel as if she was ready to do so yet. She climbed out of bed and made it mechanically. She didn’t want to lay around anymore for fear that she would fall asleep and have another nightmare. The dream had started out fine, even great, and she hadn’t realized it was a dream, though then again did anyone ever realize things were dreams? When she had been forced under the table to stay safe that was when she prayed it was. She had watched as her brother and Spike battled against the numerous vampires but then she couldn’t yell in time to warn Angel of the vampire approaching him with the stake to his back. She had watched as her brother turned to dust. She had watched Spike’s horrified eyes as he watched his grand-sire fall to the ground in nothing but ashes, only to be taken off guard as he too was staked. She had cried as the vampires found her and right before she herself was turned into dust she had woken up. This was one of the many times she wished that her brother was here so that she could have gone into his room and made sure that he was alright. Instead she made her way gingerly up the stairs and up to a certain blond girl’s room. Shutting the curtains when she walked in she laid down next to Buffy, the other girl not even waking, and hoped that sleep would come for her soon. Word Count: 484! Tag: Big Vamp Angel!
