----------------------- ----------------------- Caroline rolled over. She had been having the strangest dream. It wasn't the kind of one you wanted to think too much about. If you did you might go insane. Slowly consiousness began to creep back in and she turned over once more keeping her eyes closed but knew that she wouldn't be going back to sleep. It was still dark she could tell that from behind her eyelids and she wanted to groan in protest. It wasn't even a school day and she was about to be awake at some ungodly hour. Finally she opened one of her eyes as she rolled over and checked her clock. It glowed in the dark the digital number screaming at her. 4:48am. Who was even awake at this house? No one that's who. She let out a soft groan and turned over to lie on her back and stare at the darkened cieling letting her eyes adjust to the darkness. Finally giving up she got up and out of bed. Her hair was fluffy from the shower the night before.
Heading into her wardrobe quietly she grabbed the first things she saw and it turned out to be something that was easy to wear. The denim skirt wasn't too short but it was good enough that once the sun did come up it would look amazing. She also pulled on her white singlet and a small denim jacket over the top that came to her waist. She smiled at her reflection, especially as she had done all of this with the lights off so she didn't wake her mother in the next room. Going into the bathroom adjoining her bedroom she flipped on her flight and wanted to hiss as the brightness hit her eyes. She hated how sensitive they could be. Another perk of being a vampire. She looked int the mirror and rolled her eyes. Make-up was a definite surprisingly vampire also needed to rest. She went into her make-up bag and had a wash and cleaned her teeth. She put on all natural colours but it was obvious it was there.
After forcing a brush through the snarles in her hair she watched as it naturally curled. With only her fingers to direct it the way she liked it she watched as she applied her eye liner on top and bottom and then added blush and eye shadow. Topping it off with her pink lig gloss that matched her lip colour she was satisfied with what she saw in the reflection. Flipping off the light and cursing for the sudden darkess she stood for a moment allowed her eyes to adjust once more. She glanced around her room and saw her grey bag just sitting there. Taking her phone from her charger she shoved it into her bag. She would have to walk wherever she was going so she didn't wake her mom. She sighed at the thought and had no idea where she was even going to go. The idea clicked right away when she realised that she hadn't been the falls in quite some time.
Heading out the door she made her way outside. There was a little light beginning to shine on the little town although she couldn't yet see the sun. She ran into the forest knowing that no one would be up at a crazy time such as this. She arrived at the falls at roughly half five. Half five in the morning and she was already out and about. She would need to grab a blood bag when she got back. Finally she reached the small bridge that looked over the falls. The sun was finally starting to make an appearence and she smiled at the colours that cascaded from the sun. The reflections of the colours on the water was magical. She smiled and leaned on her elbows against the railings. She took in a deep breath and let it out slowly. The smell of the salt in the water and the sound of the falls came over her and she felt exceedingly relaxed. It was a nice change. She let herself drift with the colours that reflected, shimmering before her.

----------------------- ----------------------- Tyler had been running for in the falls for some time. Even before becoming a werewolf and then a hybrid, running had helped him to think or clear his head. Right now, he was just trying to think. He had broken Klaus' hold on him, and he liked that. But he had to keep that little fact to himself. Which meant that he had to pretend like he was still Klaus' lackey: something that he completely hated. But it was necessary. Unfortunately, this necessity meant that he had to act like a dick to Caroline and the others. Caroline. Tyler let out a heavy breath. He hated how messed up everything had gotten. Oh, man. What am I going to do? Klaus can't find out that I'm no longer sired to him, but I hate having to hurt Caroline, he thought. However, if he really wanted to sell that he was still sired to Klaus, she---along with the others---would have to believe it.
Finally, he stopped and looking up briefly, he saw that the sun had started to rise. Wow. Car would love the colors, he thought to himself. Then his eyes clouded at the thought of the girl. He missed her. She had done so much to help him and he had screwed everything up. Well, rather Klaus had. While he was grateful that he no longer had to turn if he didn't want, he hated that it had turned him against the others...especially Caroline. Caroline. He missed her...
Presently, he became aware of another presence. Who else could be here? he wondered. He had thought he was the only one here. In fact, he had been sure of it. After all, it was nearly five in the morning. But maybe there was someone else who couldn't sleep. Or maybe it was...no. There was no way he could be here. There was no reason for him to be here. Then again, Klaus never needed a reason for anything. "Who's here?" he asked, his body tensing, ready to flee if nencessary.

----------------------- ----------------------- Caroline was always one to get lost in her own little world. She didn't care what others thought about her when they saw her standing there daydreaming her life away. It was even easier to do when you are a vampire, she could block everything else out and become soley focused upon one little thing. Right then it was the reflection of the sunrise on the water falls. Although the falls weren't exactly bit, they are amazing especially at this time of day. They always looked best at Sunrise, Sunset or during the night. She sighed as one gleam of sunlight peeked out behind her and the water gleaned in her eyes. She turned around to watch the sun slowly makes it's arrival into the sky. It was a sight to behold. She smiled gently at it all, maybe the world wasn't so bad when something like this happened every day. It was the arrival of a new day and Caroline decided to be a nicer person today, or at least she would try anyways.
She heard some one or something running. She frowned and whipped her head around. She couldn't see or smell them just yet. Who would be out at this time of day? Heck the sun hadn't even come up properly yet. She sniffed the air but there was no scent. She frowned once more and whipped around once more. Finally she stood perfectly still and tucking her hair behind her ear she listened intently. The small forrest surrounding thefalls was teeming with life and she could hear all of it. She tried tp pin point the sound she had heard earlier, the running until she caught it once again. Caroline moved from the small bridge and to the edge of the forest. She wasn't hiding per say but she did want to catch a glance at who ever or what ever this person was before she attacked them or something similliar to that anyway. She stood waiting quietly and patiantly.
Finally the person broke through the tree line and she could see who it was. She didn't have to fear at all. Tyler. One of the big drama's in her life currently. The guy was and had been a good friend of hers for a long time but then again there was the part where he had been a complete dick. Not to mention he was sired to Klaus still and everything had gone into mayhem since then. She wanted to reach out and touch him but things had changed between them, she had been hurt too many times and it killed her. She let out a soft sigh and it seemed that he had heard it. She watched as his demenour change rapidly. It was like he was looking for her, as if he knew it was her. She shook her head and staightening her skirt below her she stepped out of the tree line and into his line of veiw. She wondered what he would think about her being here this early. She didn't even know he was back in town.
She frowned as she walked right up to him without saying a word. He asked who was there so all she had done was show herself. Tucking a strand of her curly hair behind her ear she looked up at him through her eyelashes. "Hey Tyler. So you were going to tell me you were back in town when? You didn't even say goodbye" She knew why he had left, he had wanted to try and break the sire bond to Klaus. Especially after what had happened between the two of them. She loved him and always would but Klaus was in the way of them. What he didn't know however was that whilst he had been gone, Klaus had literally moved in. He had been trying to woo her and charm her. Caroline may act like she didn't care or notice but she did and he was starting to get to her. " Where have you been? I called you like a billion times and you just don't reply?" She asked and realised she was still wearing what he had bought her first her birthday, the charm bracelet. ----------------------- ----------------------- When the figure came into view, Tyler let out a sigh of relief. "Car. You scared the crap out of me," he said. If it had been Klaus... Tyler mentally shook off the thought and focused on Caroline, who definitely looked ticked, not that he could blame her. After all, he had left without a word. But it had been necessary. He had wanted to leave as fast as he could before Klaus could find out and compel him to stay in town. And that was something he couldn't allow to happen, so he had left before Klaus could get his hooks into him. But he hadn't meant to hurt Caroline. Caroline was the most important person to him in the whole world next to his mother and he had just wanted to make sure that she wasn't caught in the crossfire in case he couldn't break the Sire-bond.
As she went off on him, asking when he had been planning on telling her that he was back and that he hadn't even said goodbye. "Yeah, I know," he said, looking at the ground as he ran his fingers through his hair. It had gotten a bit longer while he was gone and he desperately wanted to cut it off, but he had to make sure Klaus didn't suspect anything first. Then, he could take care of his own comfort. Which he hoped would be soon. He didn't like his hair long. It just felt too weird.
He then refocused his attention on Caroline who had gone on to ask him where he had been and that she had called him a billion times. "It---It---it was better that you didn't know where I was---that no one did. I couldn't risk Klaus finding out," he answered. Not that he thought she or the others would intentionally rat him out, but if no one knew where he was, Klaus couldn't compel them to reveal his whereabouts, and he would leave them alone...in theory anyways. And that was what was important: keeping Caroline, his mother, and the others safe. Nothing else mattered to him.
Then, he blew out a breath. "Look, we probably shouldn't be seen together. Klaus wouldn't like it," he said. Not that pleasing Klaus was high on his priorities these days thanks to him breaking the Sire-bond, but he didn't want to tip his hand just yet. He wanted to wait and see if Klaus had anything big lined up. If he did, he could figure out their next step and make a move against him. Therefore, for the time being, he had to act like he was still bonded....as much as he hated it. I'm sorry, Car. I need to keep you hating me right now, he thought to himself. He needed to play this charade for as long as he could. He just---he just had to pretend for a little while longer....

----------------------- ----------------------- The falls had always seemed like a slightly magical place to Caroline, especially when she had been a kid. She remembered when her dad had taken her hear at sunrise and sunset one day, stayed here and had a picnic. That was the summer that he had run off with Pete. Who would have known her own father was gay? She had nothing against him although she had been a little upset at the start but it had torn apart the relationship she had with her mother. The two were constantly bickering. Things were different now though, her own father hated her and her mother was more accepting. She accepted that her only daughter had been turned into a vampire against her will and that there was nothing that could be done about it. Caroline hated the thought of having to watch all those that she cared about die off but there was also the good side to everything. Saying goodbye was always the hardest and she had never been any good at it. Didn't mean she wouldn't do it though.
When she stepped out of the tree line she watched Tyler's face instantly relax. It was as though he had been expecting it to be someone who he didn't want to see. If anything, a lot of people were looking for him. She knew that Klaus had been but at the same time it was nothing to do with him. His own mother had been worried sick and Caroline couldn't have blamed her. "I'm sorry, wait no I'm not. You were the one who was literally running towards the falls. You scared the crap outta me. I was thinking who on earth would be up at this time of the morning. It's good to see you Tyler" She spoke the words of truth, she had missed this guy. They had been together when he had left and now she had no clue where they stood. He went to go and break the sire bond and she had no idea if he was successful or now. Probably had something to do with the fact that he wouldn't pick up the phone when she called or answer any of her text messages. Caroline could see the way her words effected him. He was stressed out to the max and was obviously sincerely sorry that he hadn't said goodbye in the first place, or that he hadn't called to tell her that he was back in town. She walked towards him. She stood a foot a way and looked him over, he was a mess and was in desperate need of a hair cut. "Are you ok? Did it work, did you break your sire bond to him?" She wanted to know that the entire reason he had ditched her in the first place had worked out. She hoped it really hadn't been all for nothing. However concern went to pissed when he wouldn't answer her questions. She frowned and crossed her arms over her chest. "What do you think I would have gone off and told Klaus exactly where you are? You think I would do that to you? There has been enough drama happening right here and i've been keeping his mind on that so he didn't start sniffing around about you not that anyone had any information anyway" Caroline wasn't one to get shunned without an explanation. She expected no less from Tyler either. She wanted to know if it had all worked and if he was planning on sticking around for a start. His next words however almost sent her over the edge. She frowned and then shook her head. "You have got to be kidding me! Seriously? Your just going to try and avoid me because you think Klaus won't like it. Think again! Your not going to turn back into your old self and be a dick to me. You told me you loved me and then skipped town. You bit me on my birthday and Klaus had to save my life! Now you just expect me to go away because you think it;s not good for us to be seen together? Who is going to see us?!" She knew her voice was rising and that she was getting more and more pissed. She turned and stalked away from him. She got back onto the bridge over looking to falls and stood there leaning on her elbows on the railings. She was fuming and needed to calm down. ----------------------- ----------------------- Tyler let out a heavy sigh as Caroline first apologized and then went off on him, saying that he was the one who had been running towards the falls and that he had scared her. "Sorry," he muttered. He hadn't meant to scare her. He had just---he had wanted to get away---to think about what he would and could do with his new-found freedom. Then he flashed her a smile as she told him it was good to see her. It was good to see her too---more than she knew. He had missed her so much while he was away. There had been other female wolves there and they were all pretty by society's standards, but they just couldn't hold a candle to the blonde vampire in front of him.
He mentally shook himself as he realized that she was speaking again. She wanted to know if he had broken the Sire-bond. He wanted to shout it out: yes! They could have a life again! He was free of Klaus! But he couldn't do that. Oh had planned to when he had first gotten home, but then the air had gotten---heavy---for lack of a better term. Something big was about to go down. He could smell it. So, he did the hardest thing he could think of. "No. I didn't. It can't be broken. I"m stuck like this," he told her and then turned away so that they weren't facing. If she could see his face, she'd know right away that he was lying. And if she knew he was lying, she'd keep pestering him until he finally broke down and told her the truth.
She then went off on him again, asking him if he thought that she would go off and tell Klaus where he was and that she had been keeping him busy so that he wouldn't ask questions. Even though he couldn't see her, Tyler could just picture her: she probably had her arms crossed or something. "Not intentionally of course. But he can compel other vampires. He can't get anything if you don't know anything," he responded. He briefly contemplated asking Caroline just how exactly she had been keeping his sire preoccupied, but ultimately decided he didn't want to know. If he did, he'd be tempted to confront Klaus and would probably just end up dead.
As soon as he said what he did, he knew instantly that Caroline wouldn't like it. And she didn't. In fact, it got her started up again: yelling about how that if he thought he could just avoid her because Klaus wouldn't like it that he was mistaken and that he had told her that he loved her before leaving town, causing him to wince. Yeah that was bad timing, he thought to himself. Then his eyes clouded at her reminder that he had bitten her, resulting in her needing Klaus to save her life and that he expected her to go away because he was afraid of being seen. "That is exactly my point, Caroline!" he shouted, finally turning to face her again. "He told me to bite you! He ordered me to! And as much as I tried to fight it, I did it anyways. He can still control me and I am not going to risk you getting killed because I can't fight him! I'm not gonna cause another death! I am not going to kill you like I killed Aimee Bradley!" he told her fiercely. He dug his nails into his palms, trying to resist the urge to go over to Caroline and wrap her in a hug and tell her the truth. Please, please Caroline. Just go. Just hate me, he thought to himself as he stared at her body language. Yep. She was pissed. Though he hated it, it was good because this way, he'd be free to watch Klaus and find out what he was planning. Hopefully his idea wouldn't end up biting him in the ass...

----------------------- ----------------------- Caroline knew she shouldn't get angry. Especially at Tyler, if anything she should be running into his arms to welcome him home. But for some reasont here was something there, something that said he wasn't being completely honest with her, or that he knew something that she didn't. It bugged the hell out of her but it wasn't just that, how could she not be angry when he was so clearly putting someone else's needs first. Why didn't he realise that he should be thinking about himself as well. Sometimes thinking about number one helped. No instead he was thinking about Klaus as per usual. Caroline couldn't believe her ears though, this wasn't the Tyler she had fallen in love with, no this was the jerk that was around last year who had tried to rape Vicki Donovan in the woods. This was the jackass that had anger problems and was a douchebag to all of his friends to try and show that he was the alpha. Well things were different and he would have to learn once again.
Tyler muttered his apology at her and she rolled her eyes. It was this type of moment that she wanted to wrap him up in her arms and hold him close to her. She had fallen in love with him and that wasn't going to change any time soon. However she knew that these arguments weren't helping their relationship. Did he even know that Klaus was making a move on her also? She wondered how that would go down, not well would probably be an understatement. "You don't have to apologize to me Tyler, well you do but not for coming home. I've missed you like crazy" She knew she was wearing her sweet smile. What she said was true, she had missed him like nuts. Yet it seemed as though he hadn't even gave her a passing thought, otherwise he would have answered at least one of her text messages or rang her back or even picked up the phone when she had called him. She had needed him and he hadn't been there. His answering smile sent electricity through her. How she had missed that smile. How she missed waking up in the middle of the night to see him smiling down at her as she lay on his chest. She mentally shook herself, those were soo not the images she wanted in her head right then. No she would have to stay focused on the here and now. For now anyway. His face dropped however when she asked him if he had managed to break the sire bond. It was answer enough and she hated to see him so down about this. It was now a part of who he was and it was something they would have to deal with together. She let out a sigh and looked down before looking back up to him. "Hey, it's ok. We can deal with this. Together ok? Who cares if Klaus wouldn't like it!? We have to fight this and see if what my dad said could come true. Turning until it no longer hurts." She hated to think of her dad knowing an inkling of truth but maybe it was worth it. However there was something he wasn't telling her. She frowned and walked over to him. Just because he turned his back to her didn't mean that she hadn't caught the look he had given her before. She stood infront of him and brushed his arms on the way past. "What aren't you telling me about the sire bond Tyler? I know there is something your either lying to me or there is more than your letting on. What is it?" She asked him almost gently but everyone knew her gentle voice could be just as dangerous as her shouting at someone. "You can trust me" She trusted him so surely he could return the favor. She rolled her eyes at his words. As if they all hadn't been taking precautions with the compulsion of the originals. "Most of the vampires have been drinking vervain. Building up a tolerance to it. Katherine was a bitch but she was right in this fact. This way we can't be compelled by the originals" She added with a slight shrug. She literally growled at him at his words. He was still blaming himself for Aimee's accident. He hadn't intentionally done anything to her. She stormed back over to him and knew that she was being deadly now. She didn't care though, no way was he pulling this crap on her. It was as though he had done what vampires do and flip off their hummanity, like he just didn't care about her anymore. "You can't blame yourself for that accident. It would take a lot more to kill me and you know it! You can fight his orders! Klaus is collecting new hybrids left right and center and your the only one who has something to loose here. Tyler choose me. Choose us! Choose yourself over being around him. Please don't shut me out. I'll not let you go so easily. Not even if Klaus keeps pursuing me. Not even if you leave again." She realised she had let slip that Klaus had a crush on her. She internally frowned and cringed. Maybe they were both about to loose their temper in the end. ----------------------- ----------------------- Tyler blew out a breath as Caroline told him that he didn't have to apologize and then back-tracked, saying that he should apologize but not for returning and that she had missed him like crazy. "I missed you too. More than you know," he responded. And it was true. He had missed her so much while he was away---especially while he was turning. It had hurt a lot at first and he had wished that Caroline was with him to help with the pain, but at the same time he had been relieved that she hadn't seen everything he had gone through. He wasn't sure if her compassion would've allowed her to bear it.
When she reassured him that they could face what was going on together and that it didn't matter if Klaus wouldn't like it. "But if he found out---" he began as he turned back to face her. He'd kill her and make me watch. He'd want me to suffer, he thought himself. Then he shook his head when she said that they'd have to fight it and that they'd have to see if her dad had been right about him turning over and over. "I did turn over and over! I forced the change a hundred times! And it hurt every single time!" he shouted, putting as much pain as he could in voice. He didn't want her suspecting anything. "I'm telling you---there is no way to break this bond! It's over! It's gotta be over!" he shouted thickly.
Then he froze when her voice got a bit quieter as she asked him what she wasn't telling him about the Sire-bond and that she knew that he was either lyinng or that there was something he wasn't telling her. Normally, he wouldn't be concerned, but Caroline had always been a force to be reckoned with, even before her change and when she got quiet like that, it almost always meant she was ready to lay a smackdown on someone. "I'm not lying to you. You know I would never do that," he responded. Well, that was a lie right there, but she couldn't know that. He had to make her believe that their relationship was now doomed. If he did that, she could stay safe.
Then he blinked in surprise as she confessed that most of the vampires in town were drinking vervain. "You've been drinking vervain?" he repeated. Was she crazy? That stuff could kill her! "Are you sure that's wise? I mean, I never met this "Katherine" character, but if she's as bad as you say, should you really trust her?" he asked in concern. Though he was relieved to hear that it was apparently working at keeping everyone protected from compulsion.
Then he blew out a breath as he ran his fingers through his hair. She didn't know what she was saying! Of course he was to blame for Aimee! He had killed her! He had pushed her down a flight of stairs! It was his fault! Then, he refocused his attention on the girl as she went on to say that he could fight Klaus' orders and that he was constantly making hybrids and that Tyler was the only one with something to lose. "How? How can I fight, huh? I tried fighting when he told me to bite you. I said I wasn't going to do it and it happened anyway! And who's to say that vervain will work with me? What if my wolf side rejects the vervain and I'm still vulnerable?" he pointed out, not having to fake his fear this time. He didn't know all that much about being a hybrid so he wasn't really sure how vervain would effect him.
He shook his head when Caroline encouraged him to fight for them. He wanted to do nothing but fight for them, but right now he had to look like he was giving up on them, though he couldn't help the growl that escaped when he heard that Klaus was taking an interest in Caroline. How dare he? How dare he mess with her? Then, he took a deep breath to calm himself. He had to pretend that he didn't care. If he was still Sire-bonded to Klaus, he wouldn't care. "I'm sorry, Caroline. But we're done. We have to be," Tyler told her and then moved past her, intending to leave.

----------------------- ----------------------- Caroline could tell that Tyler was hiding somethin from her, what it was however she just couldn't quite grasp. It was never like him to lie to her, especially about something big. When he did normally she could tell right away and she could tell now. However she didn't know why. She had always been nothing but honest with him, had always wanted to tell him everything. Every little plan was even shared with him, even when he was sired to Klaus which he apperently still was. She knew what a risk it had been back then but being in a relationship meant that you were honest with each other. That wouldn't change for her, even if they weren't together at that moment, however it seemed to have changed for him. She literally wanted to shake him and just scream at him so that maybe he would understand what she was thinking, what she was feeling. Yet he just seemed to not care any more.
When he turned around and said that he missed her as well she wanted to barrell into his arms so that he could hold her like he used to. Tell her that everything will be alright, but knew that he wouldn't, that he couldn't. She wanted to cry from the thought of loosing him over this but knew that she wouldn't let that happen not unless he really forced it. "Then pick up the phone when I call next time ok? I was soo worried about you. Everyday I thought about you" She spoke the truth but she did have a little guilt of her own knowing that her feelings for Klaus were coming into play recently. She couldn't talk about that yet though, she would deal with her guy drama when she got home, there was enough of it going around. No, this was about Tyler and that he was back. There was something for them all to live for. When Tyler carried about talking about what would happen should Klaus find out that they were together or even working together. She shuddered but not for herself, she figured that she wouldn't be in any danger with his recent crush however Tyler was disposable. "What if he doesn't find out? He can't compel it out of me. I won't tell anyone else. Tyler I want to help you" She realised she sounded a bit desperate and frantic but it was how she was currently feeling. He started yelling about how he had tried to change over and over and it continued to hurt. "My dad thinks it can be done. He managed to stop himself from being compelled so I think we need to keep trying. Tyler it could be worth it over and over if it means your free." He said it was over and she knew he was talking about them as well. That just pissed her off. "So what? Your just going to give up because things are getting difficult. If that's the case then your not the person I thought you to be" She turned away from him and felt herself tearing up. Shaking her head slightly and sniffing once she refused to cry. No if he was breaking up with her then she was going to be strong through. There was no way she would cry in front of him. However she suspected something from him. Something that wasn't there. Like a glint in his eyes that was telling her something different from the words he was speaking. There had to be something otherwise he wouldn't look like that. "You would never lie to me and yet there's something your not telling me. What is it Tyler!? I'm not letting you go so easily I need a better explination other than this damn sire bond!" She realised she was shouting at him again. Caroline just couldn't help it. Taking in a shaky breath to steady herself, she didn't want to do something she would regret later on down the line. That just would never work out. Tyler seemed soo shocked that they were taking precautions. After everything that Klaus had put Stefan through there was no way she was willing to take that risk. Although Klaus specifically wouldn't be the one to compel her, his siblings hated him. It meant that they could easily use his new crush against him, she wasn't ready to take a chance on anything right then. "Yes we've been drinking it. At least I know I have. I will build up a tolerance to it to ensure that I don't end up like Stefan" She spoke back to him lowering her voice to an almost normal level. It was still higher than intended. "Just because she was psychotic bitch doesn't mean she wasn't right. It's working, it seems I can't be compelled any longer. It helps keep me safe from the originals. So that means anything you want to share will stay safe with me." She explained wanting to know what was happening inside his head. She knew that he was getting just as emotional as she was. They were the same with then got like that, acting out and making accusations that they would both later regret, but she just couldn't help herself. He was coming off as the defensless victim and that just wasn't the Tyler she knew and loved. Yes he had a vunerable side but that didn't mean that he had to be weak and act as though he was completely helpless. "We can research it. Get Bonnie to do some spells. We will find a way to break a sire bond. Some vampires get sired to the person who creates them maybe we can see how that bond is broken as well. Tyler there is always something and you jsut giving up makes you look weak to him! You're better than that!" She was raising her voice once again. She had never been so angry with Tyler than she was right then. Even when he had kissed Matt's mom. She heard the words but it was like she couldn't perceive them. Done. They were done? She let out a shocked breath and felt a tear roll down her face. He really was just giving up on the two of them. He walked past her obviously about to leave and not say anything else. She growled slightly and blurred in front of him. She knew the tears were falling down her cheeks but she didn't make a move to wipe them away. "No, if you walk away now you did this because you didn't want to fight for us. You walked away because you gave up not me! Your doing this for you because I'm not ready to loose you just yet."[/color[ She felt so helpless and like she was going into shock. He had just ended their relationship and yet she wouldn't accept it. She wiped away a tear and sniffed once before looked back over at him. ----------------------- ----------------------- At the mention of him not picking up his phone when she called, Tyler just gave a shrug. "It's like I said, it was better if we didn't have any contact with each other," he told her. And it was true. Part of it was that he didn't want Klaus to find out his whereabouts through compelling Caroline, and the other part was that he had just wanted to focus on breaking the Sire-bond and he wasn't sure if he'd be able to concentrate on what had to be done if he was constantly thinking about Caroline and how she was doing. At the touch of guilt in her voice, Tyler looked at Caroline with some confusion, but then shook it off. It was just his imagination. She wouldn't have anything to feel guilty about. The only guilty one here was him. He was the one lying to the girl he loved. But it was for the best. It had to be this way. Why couldn't Caroline see that?
When she mentioned that she couldn't be compelled and that she wanted to help him, Tyler blew out a breath and ran his fingers through his hair. He really wanted to let her help and a part of him toyed with the idea of just confessing the truth. It'd be nice to have someone to talk to about this, but on the other hand, what if it just put her in danger? He'd never forgive himself for that. He was about to speak up when she continued on, reminding him that her dad had found a way to resist compulsion and that it would all be worth it if he could be free. "It's not possible, Caroline. Haven't you been listening? I'm stuck like this and there's absolutely nothing we can do! Your dad probably trained himself for years! I don't have that kind of time!" he exclaimed. Why is she being so stubborn? Why can't she just give up for once? he wondered. Her tenacity and unwillingness to give up was something he usually admired, but right now, it was just annoying. "Yes, I'm giving up. I know when I'm beat, Caroline. I know when to throw in the towel," he answered in response to her question. Oh, he hated how wimpy he sounded, but there was no other way if he wanted to figure out what was going on around here.
He watched as she turned around and he could hear the sniffles. Aw, damn. I didn't mean to make her cry, he thought to himself. He had wanted to make her hate him so that he could spy on Klaus without having to worry about her being in danger. Then again, he could also use this. If she was upset with him, she'd avoid him, leaving him to his own devices.
Then, she turned around and verbally tore into him, saying that she knew he was lying to her and that she wasn't letting him go without a better explanation. "I'm not lying. You're just not listening to me," he shot back, putting as much venom into his voice as he could even though he didn't feel any towards her. If he could just make her hate him, everything would be perfect.
When Caroline confirmed that she had indeed been drinking vervain and that it seemed to be working, Tyler shook his head. "I still say you're nuts," he muttered. He wasn't about to go drinking the stuff, that was for sure. Then, he winced internally as she raised her voice again insisting that Bonnie could do a spell to help him and that by giving up, Klaus would think that he was weak. "So let him think it! Let him think that he has me! I don't care!" he shouted. "You hear me? I don't care. About any of it. It's just better this way," he continued more softly. There. That'll get her to shut up...hopefully, he thought to himself. "Besides, whatever you think of me, I'm not. I'm not strong, I'm not a fighter. I never have been and you know that."
Then he blinked as she suddenly materialized in front of him. He stared at her tears as she told him that if he walked away, he was doing it for himself and giving up on them. He closed his eyes, not wanting her to see how much that had hurt him. She was right of course. And he hated doing it. But it had to be done. It was just better this way. He could explain his thought process and grovel for forgiveness after he found out what Klaus was planning. But for now, it was better that he played lackey to Klaus. As he reopened his eyes, he let out a ragged breath as he tried to get a handle on his warring emotions. "I'm sorry," he whispered hoarsely. Then, he moved past her and hurried away before he could change his mind and wrap her in a hug like he so desperately wanted to.
OOC Not a problem at all. It gives me a chance to get better at long replies. -----------------------
