Since the beginning, when their Father reached down and sent word to his younger, his mortal children, every angel had the names and locations of all of the Prophets burned into their brains. Even Prophets that truly belonged to the group of gods that made up the Powers that Be were seared there; these were people who required protection at all costs, people who were able to hear the true Words of God direct from the mouths of his Angels without much consequence. Well, at least little internal consequence; gone were the days where Prophets were cherished by the masses. Gone were the days that the humans that so much had been done and given up for believed that their Father was there, was willing to speak through some of them to prove that he loved all. But then, God hadn’t really been doing much talking directly in the last few centuries had he? Many of the Angels had their orders with what information needed to be passed on to whom and things just continued as if everything was normal.
All of this meant that when his day dawned anew, Castiel had no trouble locating the red headed Prophet. Putting out of his mind much of what had happened of late; Castiel flashed himself into her home, after scanning for the cousins that she lived with. Neither seemed to be about, which merely made it that much easier to have a conversation without them. This concerned Madison Mackenzie Compassion Saxton and no other.
This visit was prompted as a favor for his brother, he’d promised to at least check in and assess the possible threat to her health and well-being before making his decision. To remove the ability for Angels to find Madison would be to remove her abilities as a Prophet completely, did he have enough hubris to not only question, but to undo the will of his Father? That remained to be seen. But in order to judge adequately he’d learned that talking to an individual helped a situation. He appeared downstairs, standing in her living room, knowing well that she felt the pulse of his presence and would likely come to investigate soon.

Madison Mackenzey Compassion Saxon sat up in her room, playing X-Box. Her cousins, who were home for once, were keeping to themselves in their own rooms, except for Kaitlyn who had been playing X-box with her. Left 4 Dead was one of their favorite games. As Maddie and her cousin played, there was no talking between them, just silence, which was normal with them. As the zombies rushed, the two just went on and killed them, playing the game how it should be played.
Because the game was so loud, Maddie hadn’t heard the arrival of the angel down stairs. The game just went on and on until she was finally able to sense it. Maddie looked at Kaitlyn.
“hey I am going to head into the kitchen to get something to drink, want anything?” Maddie asked her and got the reply of no.
The young red haired prophet stood up and she walked out of the bedroom, and into the hallway where she left her bag, the bag that and Gabriel’s blade in it, where she keeps it safe and what he gave her as an extra precaution. Maddie put her bag around her shoulder and she headed down stairs, trying to be as quiet as she could. She knew that it was probably useless and stopped to think a moment. If it was a demon, there was no way that that sucker would get out alive since there are devil traps everywhere, so this probably was something else. She had only felt this way a few times and realized that it was an angel. Angels, well to her those are more terrifying, especially after Raphael and Ruby working together.
Maddie moved into the door way to see a man standing there in a trench coat. she didn’t recognize him, which didn’t seem so bad in the long run. She would just have to wait and see if something bad was going to happen and knowing Maddie’s luck, that’s what it always seemed like.
“why are you here?” Maddie asked him, not really knowing what else to say.

While he was waiting patiently for a little while he could hear some sort of video game that involved a lot of shooting going on upstairs, but it wasn't long before he heard small feet creeping cautiously down the stairs from another part of the house. He was glad to see, at least, that his brother's protection had not emboldened her to the point of foolishness. It could be easy for someone with personal angelic protection to feel like they were invincible; but as he kept feeling like he needed to remind people, angels were not omnipotent. Much as they might like to, they couldn't be everywhere at once, or know everything that was going on. It was nice to see caution out of a young person in this day and age.
Knowing better then to actually expect anything when it came to physical appearances of individuals, he wasn't surprised to see the petite red head come around the corner, hand clutching at the strap of a shoulder bag as she walked into the room. She regarded him with a level of suspicion that he'd gotten used to over the years that he'd been here on Earth, though he could understand it given her experiences with other angels in her short life. While he thought him a tool, Castiel understood that Raphael was a very intimidating figure, especially if there was a good reasoning for not standing much of a chance in a fight with him. Personally, he'd needed to resort to trickery in the past to garner the upper hand for himself.
“I come at the request of my brother, Gabriel.” he responded, his voice giving nothing else away, be it to quell her fears or enhance them; it was simply the truth. Standing before her in the silence, he could feel a weight in the house, a resonating pulse that it didn’t take more then a few seconds for him to realize that it was coming from the bag that Madison had hanging at her side. He knew that power as much as he knew his own name, that was the feeling of angelic power, more specifically an angelic blade. Obviously it wasn’t his own, he would have been able to follow its signature here; but any angel was well aware when one of their kin’s weapons was within their presence. How was it that such a young human girl had gotten a hold of such a thing? It was baffling at all that if she had touched it that her flesh wasn’t burned almost beyond recognition. Blue eyes bore into her green pair, a very clouded look coming over his features,
“Where did you get that blade, child?”

The young prophet, Madison Mackenzey Compassion Saxon looked at the angel that was in front of her. She still had no idea if she could trust him or not. He had told her that he was here because of Gabriel, though any angel could say that, not just him. She wasn’t that trusting, it was all part of her paranoia. Maddie stood there, watching him, studying him. She wondered how good angels were at lying. He seemed to be someone she could trust, she felt it but then again that could be another trick. Maddie needed to continue to start double guessing everything. She didn’t know who to trust except for Dean, Willow, Spike Buffy and Gabriel. This angel needed to prove something to her first. She didn’t exactly know what that was yet, but there had to be something.
“really? What did Gabriel want exactly?” Maddie asked, in a distrusting way. He would answer her if she were to trust him. The way he was talking ,it seemed like he really was speaking the truth. She didn’t exactly know what to do right now since they were both standing there in silence. She really didn’t know what he was looking at until she noticed that he was feeling the power of the blade. Gabriel did mention something about that, though it was like everything, in one ear and out the other. He did the same to her. Maybe that’s why they were great friends. They both were fairly similar.
Maddie had pulled the blade out of her bag and she looked at Castiel and gave a small sarcastic laugh to his question. “who are you?” Maddie asked, completely ignoring his question as to where she got Gabriel’s blade from.

“He requested assistance in keeping you safe.” he answered, it seemed that neither were creatures of many words, keeping conversations simple and rather to the point. He hadn’t heard levels of distrust in someone’s voice in a very long time. While appearing out of nowhere had never made instant companions, there was a level of near contempt in her voice as well. Though with those who had been after her for years, the caution was something he could understand. He wouldn’t trust just anyone with Raphael after him. But when she drew the blade from her bag as if it belonged to hear and meant no more than a switchblade held by a street-child, his compassion for her reaction started to ebb quickly.
“I am Castiel of Thursday, and that is not something that should be used as a trifle.” The tone wasn’t even one of scolding; rather there was a small level of anger there. His siblings were dying right and left, and then ones who survived were barely recognizable to who they had been before, most changes not being for the better. Cowardice and irresponsibility ran rampant and now to see that something so intrinsically precious to any warrior of his family being treated as such was just too much. She shouldn’t have even been able to handle it with bare hands, anyone that touched the blade of an angel that was not its owner would set the skin to burn like something unclean before the Holy Light.
If she was one who kept up with Gabriel with his personality as it was, especially now that he had been living with his Loki persona for so many years, she likely would not easily listen to reason. He didn’t trust one of the only things that could kill an angel in the hands of a child. He flashed forward so that he was standing right before her, fingers pressed to her forehead gentle as the press of a kiss of a parent on the brow of their child. With one arm out to catch her as she fell, the other hand clasped the holy weapon in his right hand with a whispered apology to the glowing blade. The pulse of power would only cause unconsciousness for only a few precious seconds, but he was here to speak to her, taking the blade from her was his duty, a duty that wasn’t mentioned at all in his deal with Gabriel. He didn’t bother to ask why his elder brother hadn’t warned him about his charge’s added benefit.
“Now we may discuss why I am here.”

Madison Mackenzey Compassion Saxon looked at Castiel when he said that Gabriel’s intentions were to keep her safe. Okay, that sort of sounded like Gabriel to say something like that and send someone after her like that but that still didn’t say much as to which side this angel was on and if he was here to harm her or really help her. Maddie wasn’t a trusting person. She was paranoid over a lot of things, which she was always told by Gabriel she had a right to be paranoid. She, as well as her archangel friend, would be paranoid if she wasn’t like that at all. Maddie just continued to gaze at the angel, still unsure about everything. At this point, she just wanted him gone.
Madison looked at him when he introduced himself as the Angel Castiel of Thursday. Maddie raised her eyebrow at him. She knew the name. Gabriel had mentioned his brother Castile a few times. She was surprised to even meet the angel. She knew of the war this one started with Raphael and how he had gotten Gabriel caught in the middle of all of it. She would resent him for that. She would always resent him for that.
Maddie just stared at him as he stared at her with the sword of Gabriel. He obviously didn’t trust her with it but Gabriel had. Gabriel gave it to her so that it wouldn’t be used against him like it had before again and that it wouldn’t be able to harm her unless she was a moron with it. Maddie looked at Castiel and he had then appeared right in front of her. Next thing Maddie knew was that she had blacked out and was waking up again, him holding her. She could figure what he did.
The angel had then said that he was here to discuss something with her.
“then discuss away.” Maddie said to him glaring at the angel. “Gabriels going to be pissed if you keep that you know.” Maddie then said to him, noting that she didn’t have his blade anymore.

The expression on her face when he gave his introduction, the one of recognition, made Cas fluff slightly inwardly. It wasn’t often that someone had heard of him when they first heard his name, but he was pretty sure it was simply because Gabriel had mentioned him at least in passing. Though that his older brother mentioned him at all when they’d never been close certainly meant something. That she’d heard of him did not mean that she trusted him at all, but it was a step in the right direction, at least he hoped.
There was a firm hum of power coming from the hilt of the blade in his hand, it knew it didn’t belong with him, but he couldn’t leave it in the hands of a child and a human child at that. While being a prophet said a lot about her levels of power and importance, it didn’t matter, it was still dangerous. Humans were not meant to wield the power of the angels.
“There is no need for you to worry, I will be returning this to its proper place.” The idea of maybe hitting the archangel over the head with the blade as he asked him what it was that he was doing. He was well aware that even before he began his charade as a pagan deity that his dear brother wasn’t one who had all of his wits about him, that much he was willing to give some allowance for, but that didn’t mean that some of his behaviors didn’t need to be corrected at times.
“Gabriel questioned your needing more protection from those who would harm you.” the details were vague, but he wanted to know what she thought on the subject of her own safety. It would help him make his decision. Was Gabriel jumping at shadows or was there genuinely a great threat looming over the head of the child? If she could be left with a bit of a guard would it be better then shielding her from everything angelic. There were still many of their brothers and sisters that were of no harm to a prophet, in fact they'd rather rip their own grace from them then to hurt one of their Father's chosen seers.

Madison Mackenzey Compassion Saxon looked at Castiel, still watching and observing him. He looked confused, which made her wonder what he was thinking. She wondered if it was because she had Gabriel’s blade in her possession. She could only wonder though. Angels were confusing to the prophet, more confusing than anyone could ever know.
Maddie looked at him when he said that he was going to return it to its proper place. “that would be upstairs. Gabriel gave it to me because of the whole Kali incident and the Lucifer stabbing him thing. ” Maddie said to the other angel. “and other reasons. I personally think its because he doesn’t want to be killed by his own blade again so he carries a fake one with him.” Maddie shrugged, knowing the real reason as to why she had his blade but not telling him. If he truly knew Maddie and her life, he would know why she would have the blade. Maddie knew that Gabriel worried, and her having the blade was his way of knowing she was ok to some level.
Madison looked at him when he spoke again. So the archangel was being a little more over protecting again. She let out a groan. “yeah he is always like that. I’m fine. don’t need any more protection.” Maddie said to Castiel seriously. She would just have to show the youngest archangel that he needed to get used to the idea of her not doing everything he wanted. He was spoiled that way and she knew that her not listening to him was something that would piss him off.
“but I don’t have a choice do I?” Maddie asked him curiously. “so did he send you to be a guardian angel or what?” Maddie asked Castiel folding her arms across her chest.

“I think my brother has been too long pretending to be not of his own family, because he has forgotten how his own blade functions. They rest in the inbetween when an angel is not using them, they are unable to be gotten by another if they are left where they belong. It is when they are left out and around that they can be stolen.” he retorted, not moving at all to give her the weapon back, “Never mind that it needs to be handled properly lest it either burn the person in possession of it or it can become corrupted.” The words 'as our siblings have been corrupted' lay unsaid in the air. The power of an evil seraph blade was something that the human world just wasn't equip to handle, let alone if it was to fall into the hands of someone that would use it to further their evil purposes. Not to mention that the very nature of human beings was corruptibility, it was why demons had such a foothold here on Earth; as it was their nature to tempt and promise, the nature of power was one that corrupts. To see a pure, child prophet seduced by the thought that she could help the world that she saw in her visions was something that the angel of Thursday wasn't going to see happen, not on his day, not while he could put a stop to it. He didn't much care what her opinions were, he wasn't leaving this blade behind in this house. If when he returned it to Gabriel he brought it back, Cas would not be returning it to his brother after that, there was a nice safe in Heaven that had room for a mishandled blade in it. His brother had never claimed to be the sanest of their Father's Angels, but in that he gave them balance and perspective with the way that he looked at the world. However, that didn't mean that his every crazed plan was to be pandered to, either.
Crossing her arms over her chest, the young prophet assured him with a very believable tone that she wasn't at all worried about her own safety, that Gabriel was being unreasonably protective again. It was something that he could understand, if his own charges had been less capable of protecting themselves, then he might have worried the same amount. However it was possible to be too protective, and it was actually more likely for someone to get hurt making sure nothing ever happened to them, but he did understand his brother's concern.
“Of course you have a choice, you were granted with the gift of Freewill, as were all. My brother forgot that, I came here to give it back to you.”

Madison Mackenzey Compassion Saxon looked at the other angel that stood right in front of her. He talked about how Gabriel had forgotten about how the blade functions and the angel blade in general. What he was saying didn’t make any sense to her but she knew that Gabriel would probably get really pissed at Castiel for taking it from her and just give it right on back. He mentioned how it could burn or she could corrupt the blade. Well obviously Gabriel wouldn’t have given it to her if she was going to do that right? Though, sometimes Maddie had no idea what goes through Gabriel’s head most of the time. He had a mind of his own that only he understood. She tried on several occasions to try to understand him but that was just simply impossible.
The angel in front of her said that she has the choice to decide. Maddie nodded and she then thought a moment. Nope, more protection wasn’t something she needed. “well then I don’t want help. I don’t need more than what he gives me already. He can be a little insane at times.” Maddie said with a shrug, knowing that it was fully true and that Castiel might actually agree with her. She wouldn’t care if he did or not. Gabriel was insane, but his heart seemed to always be in the right place. She loved him for it. They were good friends, nothing more. She wondered if that was strange for an angel though Gabriel was no ordinary angel. He lived away from heaven and had for years upon years.

“Thank you for your honesty,” he told her; it would have been very simple for her to have simply told him that she was afraid and that she needed protection whether she had or not. She showed quite a bit of restraint in that she hadn't. Really now there was nothing more to this exchange except for the two of them to part ways now. He needed to have another conversation with his dear older brother. He couldn't even make it about things such a responsibility because Gabriel would never listen to that type of talk, he needed to find a way to make it appear as if he had the archangel and his charge's best interests at heart, which wouldn't be hard because he did. However it was figuring out how to get those words across to Gabriel. When even the young Seer made note of her guardian's mental state, Cas nodded in agreement,
“As I've said, my brother gives the rest of us perspectives that we ordinarily would not be able to see on our own because we think differently. However, this also makes his own perceptions slightly skewed.” Taking the sword in his hand, the one that had already gotten quite warm and slightly agitated at his holding it and appeared to merely stow it away in his jacket, however whether this was the case or not the young Prophet wouldn't likely know. His was not a path that intersected with the Slayer so the likelihood of him crossing her visions was unlikely.
“I wish you well, Madison Saxon, I hope that you are kept safe. There are too few of your kind living here in the world.” He nodded at her again and allowed himself to fly away, appearing to simply vanish from her living room.
