------------------------------------
He stood in the town center of Mystic falls. He was still here, doing the business that he needed to do, still not interfering with anything but some business that needed to be done. It had nothing to do with anyone in general, just some things he wanted to do for himself, get out and walk around his creation for a little bit. It was something that the man in white loved doing when he got the chance. Things were different now though and will remain different for quite some time.
He had convinced the prophet to stay away from the girl he loved out of fear that she might get injured and the fact that the man in white needed the prophet to roam around, in a certain sense. Once he had let the prophet go, he was always watching, keeping him and the woman he loved safe, doing everything he could for the prophet and for Joshua, the only angel that the man wanted to talk too, even after doing so much already.
He had taken a liking to this town, which said a lot. He walked over to the place that he had been inside only nights ago. He could get used to a place like this, like he got used to Kripke’s Hollow. The man in white walked inside and he sat down in the same place he had before. The bartender recognized him and asked if the man wanted a water. He simply nodded in response and received the water moments later. The man in white looked around the Mystic Grill and he then turned his attention back to the water that was in front of him. He did look a little out of place, but no one paid any attention to him.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -He groaned as he picked up another tub of dishes. He tended to pull triple duty at the Grill on days such as this that were as busy as they were. Being as small of a town as Mystic Falls there weren’t a whole lot of places to eat so the Grill tended to be busy most of the time. However days like these (Saturdays and Sundays usually) were crazy busy meaning that he was a bus boy, bartender and waiter, depending on where they needed him at the moment in time. Luckily he was waiting today which meant he got better tips than he did when he was bussing.
“Matt!” He heard from behind him and saw his boss Stacy coming towards him. Wiping his hands on his apron he smiled his signature grin, his baby blues lighting up. “Hey Stacey. What’s up?” He asked, hoping she wasn’t pulling him from wait duty and sticking him back to busser. He hoped that one more waiter quit and he would be able to move up to waiter full time but he never said anything for fear of getting someone fired or getting himself fired. He definitely couldn’t afford to lose his job, nor did he want to be the reason anyone else lost theirs. “Take the bar, Garrett has to go on break.” Was all she said before walking away and Matt rolled his eyes when she turned away before heading towards the bar.
Once behind he nodded at Garrett who patted his back in thanks while nodding to the two people on either end of the bar to signal he had just helped them. Matt nodded before wiping down the couple of places behind the bar that hadn’t been wiped down before heading to the end when someone requested a beer. Getting it for them and nodding at the couple who had left he headed to the man in all white. “Hey, can I get you anything else?” He asked, knowing that Garrett had already brought him a water but knowing if he wasn’t seeing helping the customers Stacey would get up his butt and that was not something he wanted to deal with at the moment.
His job was okay at times but he was really only there for a paycheck in order to pay the bills that his mother left him. It sucked being the adult sometimes.

The man dressed in white drank a little more of his scotch and he sat there, looking as if he was staring off into space but that was not any where near what he was doing at all. He was thinking, not even that but talking to someone. He was lonely but this was what he wanted. He needed, not really needed but wanted to get away from his family and from everything, living out his life among his creation. It wasn’t that he wanted to abandon it, it wasn’t that at all. He knew how beautiful it was since he was the one that created it all, but he just wanted to enjoy it for himself. He knew of the evil it brought but it was still perfect in his eyes and he knew that his children didn’t see that. There were only a select few who did, who saw it and who treasured it.
The man dressed in all white finished off his scotch before the man behind the bar, which was a different man than the one before. “yes, another scotch would be nice, thank you.” The man in white replied to the bartender. The man in white then took out his wallet and placed a hundred dollar bill on the table for the other man to take as a tip. That’s just what the man does. He wanted to be here to help the people that he liked, the people that he had loved. “how long have you worked here?” the man in white asked him curiously.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -He waited for an answer from the man that he had never seen before and when he ordered a scotch he nodded, going to the bottles behind him and filling the man’s glass. He briefly wondered if he should technically have gotten Garrett to get this man’s drink since technically it was illegal for him to drink alcohol, but then he remembered the laws. You had to be eighteen to serve, twenty one to drink. Granted he had served it before he was eighteen since he had worked there for over a year…and he had also drank for several years, however he didn’t want to get Stacey in trouble, not that it mattered anymore.
Handing the man his drink he grinned. “Let me know if you need anything else.” He stated before turning away to go and clean a few tables until he was needed. However before he could get very far he heard the man’s voice again. He turned around and was shocked to see a hundred dollar bill as the payment for the $6.00 glass of scotch. Shrugging he quickly took it and handed the man back his change before realizing that he had never answered his question. “A little over a year I guess.” He stated, thinking about it for a minute before nodding, making sure that he was remembering the correct amount of time.
Sometimes it seemed as if he had been working here for years, while other times it seems as if it was just yesterday that all he had to worry about was being a good boyfriend to Elena, keeping his grades up, and making sure that he wasn’t too tired to go to football practice. Now he had to worry about vampires, werewolves, hybrids, and if that wasn’t enough, school, and work. It bit having to be the adult.
“What about you?” He asked before rephrasing his question. “I mean I haven’t seen you around here before which is unusual since it’s such a small town and most of us know most everyone else. How long have you been in Mystic Falls?” He asked, curious as to whom this man was. Something about him set Matt at ease while also letting him know that there was something different about him. He didn’t think he was a vampire or a hybrid, but then again he wasn’t the supernatural one in the group so he couldn’t be sure.

- - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - -She walked in, seeing exactly who she was looking for talking to someone she didn’t know. Her not knowing someone was surprising since she was pretty much someone who knew everyone or at least of them but oh well, that wasn’t the point. She had a plan in order to gather information for Elijah on a few vampires who knew more about the original family than they did themselves. These vampires were some of the first vampires that were turned and they had spent years learning about the originals, which meant they had information on Niklaus that she needed.
She had met Matt a few days before at Big Surf water park and had realized almost immediately that he was perfect for what she needed. She needed someone who knew everything that had been going on in Mystic Falls while being easily looked over and someone who not everyone would miss. He was perfect for the job she needed…now all she had to do was get her way and that was easy enough to do. Walking over to the bar she grinned her heart stopping grin. “Hey Matt, I had a great time last night.” She told him, glad that he seemed to have as well. She had played the part of the new girl in town and had asked him out, keeping an eye on him for over 24 hours and switching out his soda for a different one that wasn’t laced with vervain.
She had played her part well.
“You going on break soon?” She asked him and grinned another grin when he said that he was ready now. Heading out the back door she pushed him up against the wall, staring deeply into his baby blue eyes. “You are to go home and pack a bag. Take your truck and leave Mystic Falls. Go to Chicago, that’s where you’ll meet Ken. He’ll give you your next directions. Do not tell anyone where you are going. Leave a note that says you are done with Mystic Falls because no one cares what happens to you. You lost your girl, you lost your heart, and now you want to leave the place that took them from you. You have my number, call me with updates as frequently as you can.” She watched as he took his apron off and threw it to the ground and walked to his truck.
Yes, her plans were going exactly as they needed. Now all she had to do was wait for news.
