- - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - -After a few more minutes of methodically scrubbing the mug she set it in the dishwasher, realizing a bit belatedly that scrubbing it had been fairly pointless as it was going in the dishwasher, but oh well, it gave her something to do for ten minutes or so. Walking into the living room she looked at the door almost longingly, wanting nothing more than to go and do a patrol, but her body was exhausted and she knew that there was no way she would be able to walk to the cemetery, let alone fight anything. Instead she headed downstairs, noting Kathy’s door was shut which meant Connor was most likely at least pretending to sleep and Angel’s was wide open. She thought about walking in and telling him goodnight and then heading back upstairs, but declined that offer.
She could tell by the look Angel had given her when he offered his bed that he needed her tonight so she would put aside her selfish thoughts and be there for him. Walking inside she didn’t even bother to change clothes, simply turning off the light that he had left on for her and sliding into bed next to him. She would usually move so that her head was on his chest but she didn’t tonight, simply laid on her stomach and put her hand under her pillow. If he needed her she was there, but she would let him make the move as it was him that needed the comfort.
Or at least he was the one who was willing to take it…she however refused to let the tears fall that desperately wanted to. It was bound to be a sleepless night. She wished she could fall asleep, wake up and not have to deal with any of this anymore. Unfortunately she knew that there was no way that was going to happen so laying here and listening to the stillness of the night was about as good as it was going to get. She hated feeling so cut off from Angel at the moment since he was technically right next to her but she had no idea how to approach him.
So instead she simply laid there with her eyes closed.

At Katheryn announcing she was too tired and they should all postpone their movie night, he couldn't help but internally sigh of relief. Dodged that bullet... When she stood up and began to head out of the room, he stood up behind her. "Goodnight, Katheryn" he murmured, just quiet enough where she could hear it. She was probably the only one who could as he'd been quieter than a mouse and his lips had barely even parted. With a defeated sigh, he turned on his heel and looked to his son. "I'll show you to your room" he told the boy, waiting for him to stand and join him. While he waited he went into the kitchen and quickly downed the rest of his mug. Which was kind of a lot, but he needed it. Setting the glass into the sink he rinsed it and left it there. It looked pretty clean as he'd gotten most of the blood out of it, but he'd scrub it later.
Heading back into the kitchen, he simply nodded to Willow. "Buffy, if you want to sleep with me..you can." His eyes remained fixed on her for a moment. Almost as if pleading with her. He needed her tonight, he was beyond mentally and emotionally exhausted. She would comfort him, even if it was only her sleeping beside him. With this he turned once again and began to head down the stairs with Connor in tow. Or at least he thought, he hadn't looked back to check. He was simply thankful that tonight's drama was over.
Connor had indeed been following behind him thankfully enough. After saying their parting words each man went to their separate rooms and parted ways. Connor shut his door behind him but Angel left his open, hoping and half expecting a guest. He changed into a set of sweatpants (his iconic grey pair) and a white tank top. It was his usual sleeping attire and what he wore nearly every night to bed. Leaving the light on, he slid underneath the covers and simply laid on his back. Soon he heard the pitter patter of shoes on the stairs, and the slayer strode into his room. As she shut the door and then flipped off the light, he felt immediately relaxed when she slid in next to him. However she didn't lie against him like usual and instead distanced herself by lying on her stomach. Unsure of how to take this, he kept his distance as well. "Are you okay?" he whispered, unable to help himself from asking.

- - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - -She could feel him relax as she slid into bed and for a moment thought about taking her normal spot against his chest where his heart would beat had it been able too. However she was nothing if not stubborn so instead she distanced herself as far as possible which wasn’t much since the bed was only a queen sized bed. Closing her eyes she tried to let her breath even out in order to at least make the illusion of being asleep. She knew that Angel wouldn’t say anything if she didn’t start the conversation as he wasn’t exactly a chatty Kathy but she didn’t want to take the chance.
Unfortunately she was wrong on two accounts. One was that apparently she could rule acting out as a potential career choice as he clearly knew she was still awake…and two was that he had apparently decided to break the silence by asking her a question. Okay, so clearly she didn’t know Angel as well as she thought she did…or she was just too in her own head at the moment to try and decipher if this really was an ‘Angel’ move or if he was just too up in arms so to speak to keep quiet.
Either way she couldn’t ignore him since he was asking her a question, well, she could, but she wasn’t that rude so instead she shrugged, knowing that he could see her just as well at night as he could in the daylight. “Yeah, I guess.” She answered before shaking herself mentally. Hadn’t she said that she was here for him, not for her? This was about him, not her…so why was she falling back into the pattern of letting him comfort her?
No, she wouldn’t let that happen. She needed to be the strong one. She could wallow in her own self induced depression later on alone…whether it be in her room tomorrow or the apartment next week. She’d find the time to let her grief out, but for now she had to be the strong one. Taking a deep breath she rolled over so she was facing him, though still kept her distance as she didn’t want to crowd him.
“I’m more worried about you.” She answered honestly. “I know tonight was a bit of an explosion and you seemed like you needed someone to talk to. I know you’re not a big talker but you know I’m here for you if you need me.”

Something was definitely up with the slayer and Angel could see that, despite how much she tried to pretend that she was alright. Hell she even pretended to be sleeping for god's sake. And, she'd done it terribly too. He knew Buffy and knew that she tended to have a little bit of a snore when truly sleeping. Her breathing was definitely not even for the most part, as she was usually dreaming about one thing or another. However she appeared to want to look as if she were sleeping and for the life of him he couldn't understand why. Sure it was a shock to actually meet Connor but it wasn't as if she hadn't known about him. Sure, Katheryn had been upset, but she seemed at least civil for the moment and only appeared to still be mad at him. So why on earth was she acting this way? If anything, he should have been the mopey one.
Watching her give a casual shrug of the shoulders he simply raised a brow at her, though she couldn't see it. Patiently he waited for a moment for her to continue. Surely she wasn't going to simply shrug and remain silent? But before long, her voice graced the silent space between them. "You guess? That doesn't exactly sound okay." With this, he shifted up to lean his head on his hand as it curved at the elbow. Leaning onto it he simply watched her, waiting for her to either move or say something. Anything. This silence was killing him and quite frankly he wasn't in the mood to play this game after the night he'd had.
After what had been too long in his mind she finally rolled over to face him. At the moment he desperately wanted to hold her but it seemed she didn't want to be touched and so he kept the distance between them. "I'm fine. The only one I'm worried about, is Katheryn. I just hope she'll understand where I was coming from, as I understand where she was coming from, and will forgive me someday." Telling her this in a whisper his eyes floated away from her and simply stared into the darkness. Thoughts of Katheryn simply depressed him at this point. She were like a daughter to him and he'd hurt her, and found it hard to even live with himself. However he understood her point of view and hoped that she would understand his. After all, he'd only been trying to prevent her from getting hurt.

- - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - -She ignored his slightly sarcastic comment about not sounding okay, because she knew him well enough to know that he didn't mean it. She knew that she had reacted in a selfish way and that wasn't the type of person that she was. She was usually a fairly giving person but her mind was one big clouded mess at the moment so she knew she needed to tone down the selfishness and let her selfless side show through. She loved this man more than her very breath and she needed to prove that not by words but by actions, something that she knew how to do, she just needed to focus on it better.
"Kathy will be okay." She told him honestly, wondering if he was keeping the distance because he wanted it or if he thought that she did. Feeling the need to touch him at least for a moment she moved her hand to stroke his smooth cheek, hoping to give him a bit of reassurance. "She's a good person Angel, she just got a little confused when everything went down. She'll be okay." She whispered, not wanting to disturb the darkness around them. “Besides, her offering up her own bed to Connor, that showed maturity that most vampires you’re age don’t have…let alone ones who are stuck in the bodies of eleven year olds.” It was the truth in her mind and for some reason that she couldn’t fathom, she had been filled with pride when she watched Kathy offer her sleeping quarters to a boy that she saw only an hour before hand as the enemy.
“Angel, you’re not a daughter nor are you a sister, so let me shed a little bit of light on us, okay?” She asked, her eyes looking up at him and a small smile playing on her lips. “Most of our lives we grow up with the notion that father’s can do no wrong. We idolize our fathers until something knocks them off that pedestal and it does take awhile for them to be seen as who they really are and not the heroes we once thought. I don’t have a brother nor an older sibling so I don’t know if it’s the same with them but I figure it’s pretty close. You just have to keep the lines of communication open with her and she’ll come around.” She told him, her hand still on his cheek.
She didn’t say it out loud but her thoughts were clear on the subject. She wanted him to do the exact opposite of what her father did. She hadn’t heard from her father in years and she knew that Angel would never let it go that far.

As both of them had expected, the feeling of her hand against his cheek instantly calmed some of his nerves. Not all of them but it did offer him a bit of serenity. She'd always liked that his face was clean shaven. Which was a good thing, considering he hadn't a choice in the matter either way. As a vampire he wasn't required to shave, nor cut his hair. Luckily enough too because he would have to have someone else shave him considering he didn't have a reflection; talk about awkward. But regardless his face seemed to fall slightly further into her hand, his skin had been craving hers for awhile now. Vaguely he remembered the night in the basement when they'd taken their relationship sexually the furthest it'd ever been without him losing his soul. He wouldn't get into details, but he had definitely had fun...Since then he'd been craving her, but now was not the time nor the place, with his son right next door. Right? Right.
Angel nodded against her hand, though it was a weak nod at best. "I wish I could be sure" he murmured, slightly lost in the electricity of her touch. Another nod came but this time stronger, prouder. Katheryn offering up her bed had definitely fluffed his peacock feathers up a little. His chest had even come out a bit more, filled with pride and joy. Though just because she wasn't going to take it out on Connor didn't mean she still wasn't mad. However he was glad to take the brunt of the anger, especially considering he'd caused all of in the first place.
It was amazing to see how much the slayer herself had matured over the years. While he'd always been the wise one between the two, this was not the case tonight whatsoever. "I know. I just hope she comes to realize that what I did, it was so she wouldn't get hurt." Which was true, he would never intentionally hurt her and everyone knew it, including her. "I'll talk to her in the morning" he replied sullenly, ending the conversation once and for all. After everything that had happened tonight he didn't feel like it should be pressed any further. What happened had happened, and it was now up to him to fix it. He knowingly understood and accepted this. It would be his mission to make things right from here on out, between both him and his sister, and him and his son.

- - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - -She smiled softly as he slightly leaned into her hand, though it didn’t really surprise her. For some reason they had always been comforted by each other's presence, and it was magnified by touch. She had always felt safe in his arms and he had always been calmed down by the touch of her skin. It was something she had noticed years ago but the two had never truly talked about it. There seemed to be a lot of things like that that they had never spoken about but she knew now was not the time to get into it.
For some reason the thought of them not talking about things felt her with an overwhelming sense of dread, almost as if she knew that they would never have a chance to talk about those things. Goosebumps rose on her skin but she ignored them, refusing to get into this conversation now. She had no idea why all of a sudden she had a bad feeling but it was bubbling inside her like a geyser and she wanted nothing more than to express it. However tonight wasn’t about her and she refused to let her paranoia detract from the heart of the issue.
"Kathy worships you Angel. You're her big brother, she looks up to you. Just make sure that you let her know that you have enough room in your life for both her and Connor. They're your family, the only family you have, so keep them close." She told him, her eyes boring into his with an intensity that would have been almost too much for anyone else to handle, but she knew that Angel would understand her words and take them to heart. “You’re not alone anymore. You have a sister and a son, you have blood family that no one can take from you unless you let them.” She whispered, stroking his cheek and marveling at even though it had been over two hundred years since he had shaved that his skin was still as smooth as ever.
“You know I’m here for you if you need me. Whether it’s to help you talk to them, or to get some aggressions out by beating me up…or you know, trying too.” She told him with a wink. “I’m here for whatever you need. You just have to ask.” She whispered and leaned over to place a small kiss on his lips, sealing her words with a kiss.

Although he'd attempted to end the conversation on his sister, clearly he'd been mistaken. It shouldn't have taken him aback any and it hadn't as he knew Buffy. He knew that she was a talker, she talked more than anyone else he'd ever met. Though she was fairly close to Cordelia in comparison, she still talked more. And yet her voice was comforting to him. It reminded him that he could be happy, and that he had been happy before. Getting back to that was a possibility if he'd allow it to be one. Plus he would have rather heard her voice than a silence between them. Sometimes the silence was fine, but she was comforting him at the moment.
Regardless though he didn't want to continue to talk about his family. Simply nodding to her statement, he let it go at that. Angel appreciated her words more than he could ever express to her. Really, he did, and they did in fact make him feel a bit better. However he wouldn't feel one hundred percent again until he fixed things with both of his children. Or rather, his son and his sister, though he thought of Katheryn more as a daughter than anything else. Knowing that this was hard for Buffy to speak about as well, he figured it was better for her too not to talk about it.
While now he could go in the daylight with her because of his ring, there were still many things he couldn't do for Buffy. He couldn't make love to her like he would love to. And one of the biggest things he knew was currently affecting her, he couldn't give her children. Knowing that he had a child with another, Darla nonetheless, had to hurt her. It wasn't something he could blame her for and felt badly about it. If he could give her children, he would, it was simply impossible. Or at least he'd thought it was, though who knew these days.
With all of this in mind, he reached out and grabbed her by the waist and pulled her to him. Wrapping one of his arms around her neck and the other around her waist, her head fell into place across his chest. His own head laid atop hers, snuggling into her and taking in the scent of her shampoo. "I love you" he mumbled into her hair, still holding her closely. Right now he simply wanted to hold her. He was slightly upset still, and this had a calming effect on him that no one else could provide.

- - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - -She could tell that he wanted to end the conversation they were currently having, though she had no idea if that was because he was uncomfortable with it or if he was trying to spare her feelings. She wanted to be there for him no matter her own feelings on the subject so she kept talking, something she was quite good at. Some people would find it annoying that Angel rarely talked much and that talking to him sometimes was like talking to oneself as he rarely added his input unless being asked a specific question. However she was more than happy to fill the silence between the two of them and he knew it, so it worked out well.
He barely talked, she talked a bit too much, it all evened out in the end.
She stroked his cheek once more before pulling her hand away and setting it on his arm, squeezing his bicep in a comforting manner. “You know I’m here for you if you need me.” She told him, laying her head back down on the pillow that she had been using to prop her arm up on. “Whatever you need, you tell me and I’m here. You’ve helped me through so much Angel, the least I can do is return to favor. And before you ask me if we’re keeping score now like you did back in the day when I told you I wanted us to be even with the jumping in to save the other one thing, that’s not what this is so get that thought out of your thick handsome head.” She told him with a grin.
Feeling a bit claustrophobic she leaned down and took the thick socks that Kathy had thrown at her off, feeling relief as her legs and feet were freed from their confines. She hated socks and rarely wore them unless she had to, but Kathy was too cute to say no to so she had grinned and bore it. “Your sister has a sick sense of humor.” She stated randomly but she held up one of the socks so he would know what she meant before throwing it to meet the other one on the floor, making a mental note to pick it up in the morning.
She placed her head once again on the pillow but it didn’t stay there for long before she felt Angel’s arms wrap around her and pull her to his chest. Her head fit in her spot as she called it right on his chest while his laid on top of her head. One of his hands was on the back of her neck and the other gripped her around her waist. Hearing his declaration of love she melted into him. Angel had never been one of those guys who wouldn’t say he loved her, he always returned her sentiments whenever she said it, but there were very few times that he said it first. It didn’t bother her like it would some other people because she knew that he loved her, but it was still nice to hear. “I know.” She whispered softly. “And I love you too.” Placing a kiss on his tank top covered chest she closed her eyes and basked in the arms of her love.
Wishing for nothing more than to fall asleep like this every night, though she wasn’t in the least bit tired.

Holding on to her tightly, he was glad that they were on the same level strength wise. If she were a normal human his grasp probably would have hurt her and bruised her as well. However there was something so vulnerable about him tonight. It wasn't a side he showed often, if ever, and the only times he really had had been with her. Vulnerability in himself was seen as a weakness. However when he seen vulnerbility in Buffy, he took it as a strength. It was a double standard and actually pretty ironic. Perhaps it was because he expected more from himself than he did from her. He'd always been hard on himself, physically and emotionally. Perhaps that was it. Whatever the case was, he was being vulnerable right now and that made him slightly uncomfortable.
Jokingly furrowing his brows, he looked upwards and through his lashes at his forehead. Several people had made comments about the size of it and her comment of his head being thick reminded him of that. Lowering his eyes again he laughed a small, low chuckle. "I think I got it" he said teasingly, mockingly hurt by her comment about his head. There were few moments where Angel actually laughed a real laugh, and the majority of them tended to be with her. It made sense really considering how much he loved her. She seemed to bring out the human side of him more than anyone else ever had, something he greatly cherished.
Looking at the sock he nodded his head. "Yes, she does..." he mumbled, his laughter away within seconds. Before either had the chance to blink he was back to his monosyllabic self, reminded of his sister and what he'd done to her. Thoughts of her alone and upstairs in Buffy's bed rang out through his mind, despite how badly he tried not to think about it. A part of him wanted to go up there and make things right right now, but knew better. Everyone would be better off with a few hours of rest and he would deal with it in the morning.
Feeling her lips through the thin fabric of his tank top caused him to close his eyes momentarily. Her lips were warm against his cold marbled skin and the feeling was similar to that of electricity. For a moment the both of them simply laid there in silence as if attempting to fall asleep. His eyes remained closed however there was simply too much on his mind for him to drift off to sleep. Buffy's breathing was rhythmic but it seemed that she wasn't asleep at the moment either. Slightly shuffling a bit to pull her even closer, his head fell against her hair once again. "I'm not tired in the slightest" he murmured into her hair, feeling his body curve completely against hers. The small polka dot shorts she adorned radiated warmth through his sweatpants. The desire to touch skin with her was nearly exploding within him. However tonight, of all nights, was not the night. With this in mind he desperately tried to fall asleep, closing his eyes shut tightly and keeping them that way.

- - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - -She felt his grip tighten and in that moment felt safer than she had in years. There was something about being wrapped up in his arms that made her feel safe. She was always the protector, but when she was in his arms she felt as if she was the protected, the cherished, the precious. It wasn't a feeling she would ever get used to but that made it all the more special, because she knew that with him, she felt invincible. She used to revel in it as a teenager, going over to his apartment, and then later the mansion, just to feel safe for a few moments before she set out into the world again to fight the darkness that few knew about.
Trying to fall asleep was harder than she had anticipated. Her body was exhausted and yet her mind raced with everything that had gone on recently. She needed a distraction from it but there was only a few things that she knew to do to distract her and none of them would happen tonight, at least not with Angel and leaving his arms right now in her opinion was unacceptable. She could go out patrolling but that would require not only getting dressed as she was definitely not going out in the tiny shorts and tank top that she had on to kill a couple of vampires. She would freeze. Also that would require leaving the comfort of the bed she was currently in and she could feel her body protesting at the very thought of moving.
So patrolling was out.
She didn’t realize it but as she was thinking her hand was moving, up and down Angel’s chest, simply caressing it. It was an unconscious move on her part but one that had she been thinking, she would probably still do. “Neither am I.” She replied. “However the only thing I can think to do is patrol and I really don’t want to move.” She stated, burying herself into his chest more for emphasis, making it clear that if he tried to get up he would have a monkey in the shape of the blonde slayer hanging on to him for dear life as she was quite comfortable in her current spot.
“We could watch a movie but I really can’t see either of us agreeing on anything long enough to put us to sleep. Also then I would sit there and watch the whole damn thing and it’d be two hours later and I’d be in the same predicament I’m in now.” She rambled on, needing someone to shut her up before she started getting any bright ideas to try and make herself fall asleep. Knowing her anything was possible.

Although his eyes were clasped shut, his eyelids fluttered slightly as her hand moved up and down his chest. It was something she'd done on their forgotten day as well. The day he'd been human, and they'd essentially spent the entire day in bed. It wasn't as if they were sex obsessed. It was simply that it was a forbidden fruit, forbidden for years up until that day. Chunky monkey ice cream had been involved, as well as peanut butter. He still remembered the taste and how amazingly flavorful it all was. Second to the sex, the food was the best part of that day. However it was just the sex that'd been his favorite. It had just been being with her, being with her in every way. He would have been just as happy to simply lie there with her all day as well. That day was the happiest of his entire life, and he doubted that would ever change. Oh how he wished every day could be as that day were...
The hand around her waist slowly began to caress her skin as well. His thumb drug around the hemline of her shorts and on her hips, slowly moving back and forth. It was a pretty subconscious effort but as he felt goosebumps rise on her skin he knew she didn't mind it. "Good, because I don't want you to move." As her head snuggled into his chest, he opened his eyes to look into the darkness. Which wasn't hard for him considering that he actually seen better in the dark then during daylight. Planting a soft and sweet kiss on the top her head, his own head fell back to his pillow after he was done. While her shampoo scent smelled good, there was just a Buffy scent that he found completely compelling. Everyone had their own scent, though humans couldn't smell it. Hers was a mixture of vanilla, lavender, jasmine, and Buffy... He couldn't really explain it, though it was completely intoxicating.
As the slayer began to ramble he simply lied there in the darkness. A small smile crept across his features but he reveled in the fact that she couldn't see it. "Doesn't really feel like a movie kind of night. And besides, Buffy...I don't have a TV in here." With this he couldn't help but laugh at her. It didn't last long, but it was a genuine laugh and one that didn't show often. Katheryn had a TV in her room, but there wasn't one in this room. Only his bed, a nightstand on both sides, a dresser, closet, and a couple of book shelves.

- - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - -She could feel his fingers caressing her skin and she bit her lip to keep from making any sound. She loved his hands on her, but not in the way that others would think. Sure she loved feeling him sexually, but that wasn't what she meant at the moment. No, she just loved the feeling of them being skin to skin, having contact with one another, feeling safe. It was not a normal feeling for either of them because they were the protectors, but when they were together it didn't matter. She protected him, he protected her. It didn't matter that they could take care of themselves, what mattered is that when they were together they didn't have to.
It seemed as if he was lost in thought as well. She wondered if his thoughts were the same as hers, though she knew that his were probably a bit more in-depth. Angel had always been one with the answers, and if he didn't have them, he knew where to find them. She had always known she could go to him with a question and it was rare that he didn't have the answers. She thought back to Willow asking her once if they had a teacher student type deal going on (well actually she had a feeling that it was Xander who asked her that but it had been during a conversation with Willow so it didn't matter) and she had smacked him upside the head. That wasn't the case, he was simply someone who she trusted with every fiber of her being and that was how she wanted it to stay.
Hearing his response to her suggestion about a movie night she looked to his dresser, realizing for the first time that he really didn’t have a tv. “Mph!” She stated with a pout, glaring at the dresser as if it was its fault that there was no television down here. “I’ll buy one on my way home from work tomorrow.” She stated absentmindedly. She wasn’t a huge television watcher herself but that didn’t mean that she didn’t enjoy the occasional night of sitting in front of it and simply vegging out. She tried to think if Angel had one at his apartment or at the mansion but couldn’t remember. She didn’t think he had but then again, she never really paid attention. She thought she had gotten more observant over the years, but apparently not.
“So if television is out, what shall we do?” She asked him, tilting her head upwards in order to look at him, placing a small kiss on his chin that rested right above her head.

Quickly shaking his head in protest he made no attempt to look at her in the eyes. Because of the way they were lying it was nearly impossible, unless she turned her head around like the girl from the exorcist. "Don't buy one, I'd rather read. Katheryn has one...you have one, there's one upstairs, I don't need one down here." His voice wasn't rude or mean, simply stating that he didn't want one. It was no secret that Angel was slightly against technology. Well more or less he just couldn't usually figure out how to use technology, but he digressed. He hadn't ever owned a television and didn't plan on owning one anytime soon. In his opinion they tended to make people dumber for the most part. It was one thing he agreed with Giles on, he'd much rather sticky to his dusty old books.
Thinking about what they could actually do, he soon realized that he hadn't a clue. It was late at night which usually would have meant patrolling. However since neither of them wanted to move at the moment, that notion was out the door. Normally he would have picked up a book and read but he knew that reading wasn't a favorite past time of Buffy's. In fact there weren't many things they had in common hobby wise, other than stuff Supernatural. This reminded him that he needed to take her ice skating soon. It'd been a long time and it would be a nice break from all of the craziness at the house. Maybe Katheryn and Connor would join...one big happy family. Katheryn, yes. He doubted he could get Connor to come though. Nonetheless he simply shook his head. Even though she couldn't see it, she'd be able to feel the movement.
"No clue" he murmured simply. Below, his thumb continued to caress the slayer's skin around her hip and lower stomach area. It comforted the both of them, kind of a win-win. "I wonder if Connor's asleep or not..." Angel asked, more to himself than anyone. His voice trailed off into the distance as he contemplated going to check on him. However Connor was an adult and it'd probably only start a fight if Angel did so. It took a lot of consideration to deal with both Connor and Katheryn, and they were both so different. Angel probably should have started writing this down awhile back. Too late now...Just gotta roll with the punches.

So you may not want it, but I do.” She stated with a nod against his chest, pouting for emphasis though she wasn’t sure if he could see. However she realized once again that she was being selfish and pulled back the pout, closing her eyes once again. “Just kidding. I wouldn’t bug you with a television. You’d have one if you wanted one.” She stated.
Thinking about it she briefly thought about going upstairs and getting her laptop and surfing the net for some new training gear for the girls but again, that would require getting up so she waved it off. “Aren’t you three hundred years old?” She asked with an innocent smile, knowing that she was adding many years on to Angel’s age, something that even as a vampire she doubted he would appreciate. “Shouldn’t you have many ways to entertain someone? Come on old man! What should we do?” She asked, in a playful mood to try and cover up what she really wanted.
After all the emotional crap that Angel had dealt with tonight all she wanted to do was be there for him but since he wasn’t exactly the most talkative person in the world it was hard to know if she was doing anything to help him or if she was just simply annoying him. Words came to her attention both from Willow and from Angel at that point, almost as if she was hearing them out loud but clearly that wasn’t the case.
I don't know. To the naked eye it looked like fun. Or maybe it wasn't. Maybe he wasn't even tempted. I just wish I could be sure. As always, I advise you to ask. Think he'd tell me?
You don't have to play games with me Buffy. Ever. Well you're not exactly Joe-here's-what-I'm-thinking. So ask me.
Two separate people, the same advice. So why was it so difficult? She knew she could ask him anything, but she felt as if this might be too private a thing to ask him. Yet she knew if he was aware of her thoughts he’d tell her just to spit it out. “Angel?” She asked softly, her tone no longer teasing. “After everything tonight…are you okay?” Knowing that she had already asked him this could have made her a bit redundant but she wanted to make sure that he was alright. She hated feeling like she constantly took in their relationship but never gave.
