- - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - -She couldn’t help but let out a relieved sigh as she continued to look in her rear view mirror and didn’t see anyone coming. She prayed that they would make it to the house before Glory did, but she knew there was a chance that they wouldn’t. She looked down for her cell phone before realizing that apparently it had fallen out sometime during the fight which meant she had no way to call and warn those at the house that something could be coming. She knew that Willow was there and that she had been one of the only ones to really injure Glory at all and prayed that if need be she could handle that big of a spell.
She looked over at Spike sitting next to her and reached out one hand to touch his shoulder, not wanting to break the silence in the car without letting him know that she was going to say something. They were both on edge, though they both had every right to be. Spike was really the only one who knew what this meant, what this meant for her…and she prayed that he could handle being around everyone for a bit because honestly she needed his support with this. “Are you alright?” She asked him but knew from the way he was just looking at her that neither of them were really alright. She could tell that something had happened to make him not talk because usually he’d be cursing up a storm by now…and she hoped that it was only permanent.
Pulling into the boarding house parking lot she started to feel all the aches and pains that came along with getting her ass kicked all over the cemetery and back. Pulling the keys out of the ignition she opened the door and got out slowly, groaning as she felt one of her ankles twist. She had no idea how badly she was injured…the adrenaline high that she had been on was slowly wearing off and she had a feeling she had a bit more than bruises as she had originally thought. Waiting for Spike to walk around the car she nodded at him. “I know this is going to be tough because you haven’t been around some of them in a bit…but you’re needed right now.” She told him simply, knowing that he would understand. Their disagreement hadn’t really been ended because no conclusion had been made…but it had been postponed because of something more important.
Walking into the living room she couldn’t help but let out a soft groan when she realized that apparently everyone was here tonight. Just great. Willow, Angel, Xander, Faith…thank goodness none of the potentials were down here or else they would freak out. “Guys…we have a problem.” She stated simply, any other time knowing she would have laughed at their dumbfounded faces but now was definitely not the time.

From the time that he had practically dove into the passenger seat, Spike had essentially been half curled up, chin tucked down and in, trying not to move and let the spasms of pain run over his back and body. His jaw was bruised to the bone. He figured a rib or two were cracked. The blood from his battered throat seemed to be slowing, but it still hurt to swallow all of it down. He was just grateful that his vampire nature allowed him to stomach it rather than having to spit blood everywhere. And the Slayer driving was probably in close to worse condition than he was. At the feel of her fingers against his shoulders, the blond Brit’s half-lidded eyes flicked over to Buffy, though the rest of him remained motionless and huddled down in his duster. He wasn’t sure if this was a touch of reassurance or if she was going to tell him something that he wouldn’t like to hear. But as soon as she asked after him, a bit of tension went out of him. In reply, all he could do was give a nonchalant toss of his head and a cluck of his tongue. Spike had definitely felt worse before, but he certainly wasn’t alright. Not being able to talk, even though the car ride would have been silent anyway, was making him go a bit crazy. All he could do was stare at her with hollow eyes. Though he could never admit it aloud, he was terrified. The way this battle had ended the last time nearly consumed Spike with grief. And here they were, the first fight in and already losing. He let his eyes slide shut and waited until he felt the car’s engine halt to open them again. But once it had, Spike cringed as he let himself out of the car, though once he heard a groan escape the Slayer, he was at her side in an instant. His eyes shone with a concern that spoke even more than words could, looking to her for a sign that she would be okay. She was certainly bruised and pummeled all over, and Spike was prepared to do anything—carry her up to the house, even. But she nodded, and the vampire relaxed, and gave a deep nod to her statement. Though the way the Slayer had put it was a touch amusing to him. She made it sound like he was going to be shyly awkward around them, rather than the truth. But the truth was probably more complex than the Slayer realized, and he knew he had to toe the line and be the good soldier. He wanted to be of use to her, and that was more important than the issues he had with Faith and Angel. And who knew? Maybe Faith, if she was there, would see his bloodied state and feel some concern for him, and, if he was lucky, fuss over him a little. Although, the vampire found that he felt like he hadn’t done enough. Buffy needed to know that losing his voice and being beaten hadn’t left him broken. He’d be there for her, for them all, give them everything. But unsure a simple facial expression could contain all of that, Spike dug around in his duster’s pocket for his cell and hastily typed something up. with you all the way, pet. He showed the Slayer with a slight smirk, then retracted the phone to erase the text and slipped the mobile back into his coat. From there, he followed. His mouth formed a thin frown as he scented both Faith and Angel were there, much before the blond Slayer’s groan. Red and her bosom buddy were also there, but Spike’s eyes only landed on them for a second before his gaze moved to Faith. What the hell was she going to say to him, if anything? He didn’t even bother to look in Angel’s direction, but had a feeling that his Grandsire would be snarling soon enough. But Spike remained Buffy’s shadow, hovering right behind her. +++ TAGS: Angel, Willow, Faith, Buffy WORD COUNT:684 NOTES: Sooo excited for this thread :3

Knowing that Buffy was out worried him. She hadn't called or texted him at all. Although he would have been lying if he said that he liked texting. It was foolish to him. Why not just make a call? It took just about the same time. Or at least it did for him, considering he'd only just learned how to type on the damned thing. Regardless it was getting later and he was beginning to wonder where she'd gone to and if she'd been okay. He'd placed a call to her cell phone but it'd rang a few times and gone to voicemail. He would have left her a message but Angel never really knew what to say in those darn messages anyways. So instead he'd attempted to go out and find her. Maybe it was over protective, but he didn't care. He knew it was the only way he'd be able to ease his mind.
Faith however had other plans in mind for him. Just before he was about to step out the door she'd stopped him. After learning where he was going, she mentioned that Spike was missing as well. Having just learned about Spike and Faith's relationship from Connor...well he wasn't too pleased with either one of the people in that relationship. Nonetheless she'd basically forced him to go train with her instead. Still a bit angry with her, he couldn't deny going quite hard on her during their training session. When speaking to her he'd been curt and frank, and hadn't given her any leverage in the training session.
Sweaty and tired, Angel knelt over with both hands on his knees as he looked over to Faith. The brunette was legitimately panting at the moment attempting to catch her breath. With one look to her, he stood up straight and headed up the stairs. He wasn't in the mood to talk about her and Spike and honestly he didn't think he'd ever want to talk about it. Perhaps it was better if she didn't know that he knew. Upon reaching the top of the stairs he noted that Willow was there, along with Xander. Behind him he heard the pitter patter of Faith following suit and heading upstairs. Attempting to avoid conversation with the brunette, he turned to Willow and opened his mouth to speak.
Before even getting one word out, the front door opened. Scents of blood, both coagulated and non-coagulated, all of their heads turned to look. Faith reached the top of the stairs and simply stared at the new arrivals. Both Buffy and Spike had just arrived home, bloody and bruised. His eyes flicked to Buffy first before going to Spike, and then back to Buffy again. Without even really thinking he acted upon instinct. It seemed to him that the two had gotten into a bit of a scuffle. Within seconds he was on the blonde vampire, forearms moving to press against his chest and force his Grandchilde against the front door. "What the hell did you do to her Spike?" He demanded, eyes flashing anger. Perhaps he was overreacting and acting like a macho jerk. But hey, that was sometimes how he seemed to act when it came down to Buffy.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Willow was laying there relaxing watching some T.V with her baby, who had fallen a sleep on her. But she couldn’t blame her Tara was tired after all. They had done a lot the past few days, with going to dinners, movies, and even a carnival they were tired. But they were catching up on all the time they had lost when Tara was in L.A. working. Willow could just stay up here with her in this bed all day and be at piece. But Willow tummy begin to rumble a bit, so she figured why not go down stairs and get some ice cream. She went down the stairs and made her way into the kitchen, opening up the freezer she remembered Xander saying something about some ice cream that they had. Cookie dough ice cream to be exact, so she figured why not have a bowl of some. She got it out along with a bowl and begin to pile it in there, putting sprinkles on top as well. She put the ice cream back into the freezer After making a bowl, then she quickly made her way back up the stairs. As she was walking up the stairs while taking a bite of ice cream, she noticed Xander in the hallway. She gave him a bit of a wave seeing that her mouth was full of cold ice cream. Angel then had walked up the stairs along with Faith, it seemed as though they had been training by the looks of them. It wasn’t long after they were up there Xander had walked back into his room, avoiding talking to Angel always. “Hey Angel, how the training going?” she asked the tired vamp, but before he could even answer the witch had heard Buffy come home. It seemed as though she was back with Spike, and from the looks of it they did not look well at all. Willow quickly raced down the stairs in shock, hoping she was ok. “Buffy what happened are you ok?” She asked the Slayer. “What’s the problem?” Last time Willow had seen Buffy look this bad was when she fought the Terracon, or when her and Spike were sleeping together. And Willow is pretty sure none of that is going on, or at lest she hopes not. But it seemed like Angel was thinking the same thing that Willow was, as the vamp begin to push Spike against the front door. “Hey guys calm down! We don’t even know what happened yet, let them explain” the witch said trying to stop them, she didn’t want it to come to her using magic to brake it up. It was the last thing they really would want to happen, she hoped that maybe Faith would do something to try and break them up. - - - - - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - - - - - Awkward was the only way she could currently describe her and Angel's relationship right now. Downright awkward and awfully quiet. The two were usually actually quite close most of the time. However something had definitely been bothering Angel lately. Whatever it was he hadn't told her and she hadn't asked. She wasn't a twelve year old, and she wasn't an annoying fucking brand new slayer straight out of high school. The drama was annoying enough with everyone else and she didn't need it from him too. Whatever it was that he was pissed about he would get over it eventually. It might take him a little to quit brooding, but he'd eventually forget about it. She wasn't going to ask. She didn't care.
Lately, Faith had experienced enough drama to last her a lifetime considering how much she couldn't stand it. The other night with Connor had been...well it'd been just that, dramatic. They'd had a good night up until they'd gone into the alley. Perhaps she'd drank too much and led him on but regardless, they'd ended up making out. At the time she'd been so drunk that it didn't seem like a bad idea. Once Spike had shown up she'd realized how stupid it'd been. They scuffled for a moment before moving on to simply play tug-of-war over her. Not wanting to have to choose between the two of them she'd simply stormed off and left them to themselves. Both of them were in her heart, just in different ways. She wasn't a feelings kind of person and had thought it was easier to simply leave. After that she'd gone patrolling.
And...she hadn't seen either of them since that night. If she ran into Spike things would certainly be cold between the two of them. Nothing unusual about that seeing as how that was how it always was. Connor was probably hurt by her actions, and she didn't want to see his puppy dog eyes either. So she had settled for training awkwardly with Angel instead. A little bit of ass kicking never hurt anybody. Panting heavily afterwards, she reluctantly followed behind him up the stairs. They hadn't hardly said two words to each other all night. It seemed that everyone was sort of on edge lately. As they reached the top they all turned to see Buffy and Spike saunter in, looking heavily bruised and beaten. She couldn't help but wonder if it was because they'd fought with each other or not. Before she could even finish the thought, Angel assumed the same and immediately dove after Spike.
Hearing Willow's plea and seeing the look in her eyes, Faith sighed before moving next to both of the men. Her arm reached over to Angel's and she pulled him off of Spike. Before he could move out of the way she forced him off of the blonde and watched as he stumbled back. Within seconds he attempted to move forward again, but she stood in front of him to block his path. "Dude, chill. Red's right. We should at least find out what the hell happened before we start kicking each other's ass." With this, she kept a hand to Angel's chest to restrain him as her face turned towards Buffy. She didn't really feel like making eye contact with the blonde vampire. "What happened, B?" she asked, still holding Angel back. Now more than ever she wanted to look at Spike but tried not to with all of her might.
- - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - -It didn't take a rocket scientist to realize that things weren't going to go well when Buffy and Spike walked in the room. She knew that this was asking a lot of pretty much every person within the confines of the living room to play nice...though she had hoped that it could happen. She was weak at the moment, weaker than she had felt in a long time. She didn't like this feeling and was loathe to admit how much it truly terrified her to know that she had been beaten so badly. It had been a long time since she was in this much pain from a fight, and it wasn’t something that she cared to repeat often.
For some reason having Spike as her shadow, watching her back, felt safe to her. Not that she didn't feel safe with anyone in the room at the moment because she did, but knowing that someone was behind her that she could trust felt right to her. She was the slayer and she knew that she could and would be the one to take Glory down if at all possible, but that didn't mean that she had to do it alone...something that even to this day she struggled with.
Bringing herself to the present seemed to be a good idea at the time since she heard a growl let out and before she could blink Angel had Spike against the front door, his hands against Spike's arms. She knew damn well there was no way she could handle trying to get in the middle of them so she threw a desperate look at her sister slayer, begging her with her eyes to jump in. She knew that if Faith didn't that Willow would from the look on her face, but luckily that didn't have to play out as Faith did what she had been asked (though she had a feeling she would have jumped in regardless if Buffy would have asked or not) and that thought comforted her.
She heard Willow in the background trying to get everyone to calm down but it sounded as if blood was rushing to her ears as all the noises in the room were almost distant...as if she was hearing them from under water. She heard a lower female voice, and though she knew it was Faith she couldn't understand what she was saying. Holding herself up straighter she felt the pressure of her ribs lessen a tiny bit, something in which she was extremely grateful for. She knew she had at least two broken ribs that she could feel, though she had a feeling at least one more might be broken. Her head was split open but luckily for her it was on the side and there was no crack in her skull, just a tiny tear that was probably already healed, but it still hurt like hell.
Her concussion was what was concerning her, something that she had become extremely used to over the years because really, how many times had she been thrown into walls and headstones and the whole nine yards? Concussions were the usual for a slayer but this one was infinitely worse than others she had felt. She needed to lay down, but knew that she couldn't until she knew she was alright. She didn't want to go to a hospital, she still had a huge fear of them, but knew if she didn't start to heal soon she would need to.
Focusing on those in front of her in order to break up the fight that was bound to happen if she didn't answer questions (since Spike couldn't talk at the moment) she tried to clear the fog out of her head, needing to be with it for a few more minutes before she succumbed to oblivion. "Glory is back." She stated simply, looking at Willow as she was the only one other than Spike who truly knew what that meant. She begged her with her eyes for a moment to tell her some good news, anything to explain how this had happened, but knew that before she could let her explain she had to break up the vampire slayer party happening without her.
Turning her head to the trio she pleaded with Angel silently, needing him to understand. "This is how the two of us fared against her...so you can let him go. He didn't do anything Angel." She stated simply, hoping that he would believe her. Again, she was much too tired and in too much pain to fight him today...and while she knew Faith could, she really didn't want that to happen.
There was just a short moment after the blonde vampire’s head count where he recognized that the gears in Angel’s beefy head were leading him to jump, hell, even leap to conclusions. Spike had expected the pure spite and annoying self-righteousness, but to have his Grandsire charge him—bloody hell, so much for people having evolved. For as much as Angel had bitched about the same behavior in Spike, Angel had definitely gotten to a ‘ask questions later’ rut. It just went to show that when the chips were down, Caveman totally wins. Not that Spike could say that and aggravate the situation further, but it would have been funny to see the look on Angel’s face for having proved his point in that old argument. In any case, Spike only had a few seconds to throw up his arms to protect his battered chest before the other vampire threw him towards the door. What happened afterwards was a quick succession of events that all sort of went by in a blur. His back hit the door, causing sharp stabs to course through the Brit, reminding him quite tangibly that the same spot had crashed into a headstone earlier that night. But he couldn’t scream or growl in pain, even if he wanted to, so he merely gritted his teeth and summoned the strength to throw Angel off of him. But the most he could do for a moment, between his injuries and the way he was pinned against the front door, was to struggle, get his feet to find better purchase while Willow was trying to play peace maker and was probably on her way to using magic. Not a good thing this time, in the blond Brit’s opinion, since he wasn’t too sure how careful Red would be with her aim. But finally, the weight of Angel’s hands lessened. Taking advantage of Faith’s intervention, the blond vamp put a great deal of strength into one last push, and then the two vampires were separated by the dark-haired Slayer. Spike automatically tensed and readied himself for the second bout with Angel as his sire tried to skirt around Faith, but as she kept steady and would not let him, Spike moved from the door with a disdainful sniff. Though a bit more relaxed, he kept a steely, dark gaze on both Faith and his sire, watching them for very different reasons. Faith wouldn’t look at him at all, though Spike wasn’t sure if it was she was still pissed at him or ashamed of what she had done with Connor or a mixture of the two. Still, she had come to his defense, though he wasn’t sure if that really was more for him or for Buffy. But then again, this wasn’t the time to be pondering about things like that when The Beast was roaming around. Hopefully Mr. Aggro would see that too, and their fight would be postponed. But there was still a hungry glint in Spike’s eye that he knew Angel would recognize as a challenge to be accepted later. But right now, Buffy was talking. She didn’t explain everything, but explained enough for those who didn’t know Glory to know that they had to prepare for something dangerous, as well as Spike’s innocence. Now a bit more confident, the vamp straightened his duster with a cocky and indignant huff and started to move past the group. He gave a short glance back to Buffy, then Faith before slipping into the kitchen to steal some of Angel’s blood. Served the wanker right. But he’d be back once his pain was sated with a little bit of something to drink. +++ TAGS: Angel, Willow, Faith, Buffy WORD COUNT: 613 NOTES: Merp~
Even though Willow's voice registered in the back of his mind that didn't mean he was going to stop. If they would allow him he would have pummeled Spike on the spot. Deep down he knew that what had happened to them probably wasn't their fault let alone Spike's but he didn't care. Lately he'd been looking for a reason to kick the blonde's ass and this seemed like the perfect opportunity to do just that. Surprisingly enough his Grand childe didn't say anything when he was pressed up against the wall. Tension came in his muscles though and he began to fight back sure enough. Just as he reared his fist back to swing he was caught by someone and thrust back. Faith. With a snarl, Angel pressed against the hand she held on his chest to restrain him. While he could have pushed past her he decided not to. There would be another time. Another opportunity. And he would lie in wait until that moment.
With dark eyes glaring into the brunette slayer he wished so badly she would just let him go. Perhaps if they got in a couple of rounds, the tension between Spike and himself would lessen. It was improbable but still a nice thought nonetheless. The two of them had always shared an animosity for one another and while he didn't exactly enjoy it, he knew it wouldn't change. Besides...he enjoyed it. A little. Right now he was simply radiating anger and it seemed as if he might explode. The only thing that kept him from doing so was the sound of Buffy's voice hitting his ears. Glory is back.
The vampire's eyes shot to the blonde with a look of apology. Not directed to Spike as most thought it probably should have been, but the slayer nonetheless. One of his eyebrows quirked up and pointed towards the ceiling as her voice fully registered within him. That was why they were both bruised and bloodied. It now made sense, considering that he knew Buffy could win against Spike. It'd be a tough fight surely but in the end he felt she would come out on top. The girl was nothing if not resourceful. However it all made sense now. The tension in his muscles began to slowly lessen and even his eyes softened as his eyebrow lowered. "Wait...The Glory?" While he'd heard about the woman from Buffy, he hadn't ever had the chance to go up against her.
Buffy's next comment brought him right back into his thoughts. If this was how badly she'd injured the two of them...how could she be defeated? It seemed like a difficult if not impossible task. He knew how she'd died the first time and he wouldn't let that happen again. The anger within him began to rise once again. With a look to Faith, she released her hold on him and he then turned his attention to Buffy. Walking over to her his hand immediately went to the injuries on her head. "You're hurt. You have a concussion..." he said, knowing the signs when he seen them as he'd seen them too many times to count. Spike sulked off behind them and he didn't even turn to watch his Grand Childe walk away. He didn't care at the moment. Eyes still on Buffy his hand lowered back to his side.
"Where is she?" he asked through gritted teeth.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~It seemed like Faith had read Willow mind stopping the two from fighting, she knew that if anyone could it was Faith. Buffy wasn’t dumb she wasn’t going to get in between Spike and Angels business that was for them to work out. Plus Buffy looked to weak to do anything right now Willow really hoped that she was ok, there was just a look that she had in her eyes that had her really worried. The question was why did Buffy and him look like this in the first place, what had happened to them? It didn’t just look like a normal portal, something had attacked them. It made Willow wonder if it could be something new that they were going to be up against, just what they needed a new big bad in town. Then Buffy said something that Willow still couldn’t believe, she thought she had to be joking or it was a trick. But then again this wasn’t something to be joking about. She said that Glory was in fact alive, which she couldn’t see how that could even be possible. “Wait Glory She is alive? I don’t understand how that is even possible? We killed her and shut the portal, so how is she even here it doesn’t make any sense.” Willow was almost in shock as she was talking, hearing that Glory was back put a sudden fear inside of her. She though about how many people she loved that were hurt by her, including the death of her best friend. This sacred Willow to think that someone else could get hurt again by her hand again, someone could lose there brain of knowing all that they are. It almost made her want to send Tara away just so she doesn’t get hurt again, she cant take her baby getting hurt all over again. Or even worse end up dead. It made since now why Buffy and Spike looked this way, Glory was one hell to fight. Willow would know she poured so much magic into her and it still didn’t kill her, and taking a hit from her is like getting hit with a brick wall. She remembers the pain like it was just yesterday. It made her realize now why Buffy looked the way that she did, she knew that she had to be in so much pain. So walked over to her best friend placing her hand on her shoulder. “Buffy I could do a spell to help you with the pain, it would make you heal a lot faster too.” She then looked over at Angel. “Don’t worry Angel I will make sure her wounds get looked at, she will be better in no time. Willow was right there with Angel Glory could just show up at anytime, it usually what she always did showing up when they didn’t expected. But then she had a thought wondering were Dawn was, she was sure Glory hadn’t stop obsessing over her yet. “Hey guys Question do we all know were Dawn is at this moment?” She asked the group. - - - - - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - - - - - When things finally simmered down between the boys, Faith's attention first went to Spike. Where it probably shouldn't have but it seemed like she hadn't had a choice. Every time they were around each other it seemed like they were simply drawn to one another. However he wasn't wanting to look at her at the moment as she hadn't wanted to look at him the other day. Big shocker there. For two grown adults the two sometimes tended to act like children with one another. It wasn't long before he stalked off into the kitchen. Within a few moments she heard the microwave turn on and assumed he was making himself a snack. Angel glared at her but she simply rolled her eyes and ignored him, he was just being a big baby right now and the entire day before this.
The second Buffy finally decided to speak up it seemed like for a moment everything went silent. A look of confusion came across the slayer's face as someone by the name of Glory was mentioned. Who in the hell this chick was she hadn't a clue. Her eyes widened and she patiently waited for someone to fill her in on this chick with a clueless look on her face. Buffy had a concussion as Angel announced, but that was nothing new with slayers. Hell Faith had had one so many times she couldn't even name a number. Of course Angel went into angry mode and demanded to know where she was, but Faith, was still absolutely confused. "Portal?" she asked, though no one answered her and Willow continued on as if she hadn't even spoken. Apparently everyone was in the know about this Glory baddie but her. No surprise there, she'd always been on the outside when it came to the scoobies. No matter how hard she tried she'd never felt like a full member, and especially not right now.
Faith shook her head as she heard Willow's question. "Nope. Haven't seen the mini-me in awhile. Is that really important right now?" It seemed like such a random question to her as she hadn't a clue what that had to do with the situation at hand. Her hand reached behind her and rubbed the back of her hand. Turning away from the group she walked into the kitchen. Immediately she spotted Spike, who looked like absolute hell. Deciding to be the bigger person she spoke first. "You alright?" she asked, opening up the fridge door. Grabbing a beer she twisted off the cap and threw it into the garbage can on the other side of the kitchen. With this she went back into the room with the other three and took a quick swig off the bottle. "So. Who the hell is Glory, and when do we get to kill her again?" she asked, then taking another drink of her beer. Clearly she hadn't a clue just what they were going to be coming up against soon.

- - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - -She didn't need to look at Spike to know that he had a smug look on his face as she proved that he hadn't done anything to her. If it had been any other time she would have called him out on it, but not tonight. For one thing she felt like she had been run over by a truck and for another thing she knew that at the moment she couldn't stand to be distracted from real problems that were going on. She heard footsteps leading out of the room and she looked up, catching just the tail of Spike’s duster as he headed away from the living room. She thought about calling him back but figured he needed a moment and would return.
If he didn’t she’d just go and drag him back in, no matter how badly she felt at the moment.
She heard Angel's question about the Glory and started to nod before the pain in her head made her stop. Dizziness came upon her at an alarming rate and she gripped the baiter that she was leaning against to make sure that she didn't fall. She felt slightly nauseated for a moment before it passed and she was able to open her eyes again, though she hadn't remembered closing them. "Yes, The Glory." She stated in a hollow voice...no...that wasn't right. Her voice didn't sound hollow, it sounded dead. She had only ever spoken in this same tone of voice a hand full of times but when she had those around her knew that she was not in a good place.
She winced as she felt his hands on her head, not even realizing that he had walked over to her and as on reflex she literally flinched away from his hands. "Yeah, I know." She stated, not knowing what else to say. She knew the signs of a concussion well enough to know that she had a fairly severe one but she also knew thanks to her accelerated healing that she'd be fine...it would just hurt like hell for a day or so. "I'll be fine." She told him honestly, seeing him put down his arms and letting them fall to his side.
Hearing his question she sighed, not knowing how to answer it. “Honestly? I have no idea.” She told him. “All of a sudden she’s just behind us and of course being who she is she had to comment on stupid things which of course got under my skin.” She stated, not wanting to go into the fact that not only had she and Spike been arguing and she been crying, but the fact that Glory had once again tried to say they were dating and commenting on her clothing. Okay, so she was a slayer, but she was also a girl, and had a quick temper…she couldn’t really help that fact. “Anyway, we tried to fight her, though as you can see that didn’t really work out as well as we had intended it. Finally I saw an opening and I picked up one of the pieces of the headstone that she had thrown me into and I punched her in the head with it. It wasn’t enough to do any damage but it gave us the minute that we needed to get the hell out of dodge.” She stated, almost embarrassed at having to run.
Hearing Willow's questions she pulled her attention away from Angel and towards her best friend, shrugging her shoulders again. "I have no idea how the hell that hellbitch is alive. I do know though what she wants." She told her, giving the red head a significant look that she knew all too well. Smiling at the worry in her best friend's voice about her wounds she shook her head. "I need you to save your strength." She answered honestly. "You have been the only one to ever truly hurt her Wills. I need you to be at top form. I can handle some aches and pains." She told her, though her body clearly stating that they were more than a few aches and pains.
Hearing the question she opened her mouth to answer but before she could she heard the phone ring. Stephanie, a potential who had been there for awhile, walked in, eyes widening at the sight of the normally strong slayer looking weaker than most had ever seen her. Uh, Buffy. Rona's on the phone. Something important? The blonde slayer groaned before talking the phone. "Hey Rona, what's going on?" She barely heard the words before she quite literally crushed the phone in her hand and didn't even seem to realize it. She was not at all happy and it showed in the way that she held herself, her entire body tensed though there was a grimace on her face from the pain. "To answer your question Willow." She stated, her voice deathly calm, though anyone who knew her would know that she was only this calm in order to keep from blowing up. "It seems my baby sister has decided she didn't want to stay in Rome and has snuck out and is on a plane back here."
Hearing Faith’s question about Glory she was surprised to realize that no one had ever given her the entire scoop on Glory. “Long story short? Glory can’t be killed…at least not in the traditional sense. She’ll a hell god that ruled over one of the hell dimensions…she ruled with two others. Her other two acquaintances kicked her out and she was stuck here, sharing a body with a human host. Never really did find out how that worked but it’s not important. Anyway she’s been trying for the last 1,000 plus years to find the key which opens up the portal so that she can get back to her dimension.” She stated, wondering if Faith realized that Dawn was in fact not her real sister, though she doubted it. Hell she wasn’t even really sure if Angel realized that Dawn wasn’t her true sister, though it didn’t matter as she loved her like one.
Taking a deep breath she met everyone’s eyes before turning back to Faith. “Dawn is the key.” She stated, her voice taking on the same dead tone it had before. “Glory captured Dawn a few years back and used her to open up the portal, thus allowing hell on earth until…” She trailed off before shaking her head, knowing she had to continue. “The ritual said something about ‘Until the blood stops flowing then hell would rein on earth.’ Basically means that once Dawn’s blood was used it wouldn’t stop…which led me to realize that ‘Death was my gift’ hence me jumping into the portal and dying.” She answered, trying to be aloof though it was clear she hadn’t quite gotten over her death and subsequent resurrection.

The little game of ‘not looking’ that he and Faith were playing might have amused Spike a bit if it wasn’t him and Faith and if he didn’t feel like a big pile of vampire slag. He would keep his eye on her, until she looked his way, and automatically, Spike found that he couldn’t meet the dark-haired slayer’s gaze. And when he dared to look back, she wouldn’t look at him, or was busy paying attention to something else. There wasn’t a point to it, and no point to him sitting around listening to questions he already knew the answers to. He just wanted something to dull the aches throbbing all over him. The blood was easy enough to find, though there wasn’t much of it left. But without a moment’s hesitation, Spike took all of it, draining the carton into a coffee mug and throwing it into the microwave. He replaced the empty blood bottle in the fridge, a small grin playing across his face to think of when Angel would discover it and probably get wrinkles all over that freakishly large forehead of his. Spike leaned against the counter and listened to the conversation continue over the hum of the blood being zapped, though, to be honest, he wasn’t that interested in rehashing the whys and wherefores of Glory’s return. He was certainly not happy listening to Angel worry all over Buffy as if him stating the obvious was so bleeding important. It didn’t matter. And if there was any liquor in this kitchen, then it really wouldn’t matter. Though the blonde vampire’s body complained as he pushed himself from the counters, Spike began rifling through the pantries for anything stronger than soda. And that’s when, to his surprise, Faith appeared. He didn’t really glean a tone from her inquiry, though her even asking spoke of a little concern, he supposed. But what exactly was he supposed to do? He couldn’t reply, and any pantomime he could do would probably look absolutely ridiculous. So, Spike merely hoped that the magic way that he and Faith understood the subtleties in each other’s glances was still in effect. The Brit shook his head, his eyes clouded with hesitance and uneasiness. No, things were not alright. Things were bloody horrible. The only thing to have killed Buffy for more than ten minutes was alive again, able to strike at any minute, able to kill anyone here. And then there was the two of them, once able to say anything to each other, now barely able to keep eye contact. And he hadn’t liked being away from her. Of course, all of that probably couldn’t be packed into a look, and even if he could speak, Spike couldn’t say that his words would make anything better or worse. But maybe he could have made her laugh with a little quip. Whatever she had gotten from him staring at her wasn’t enough to make her stay, and she left with a beer in hand. Well, at least she had shown him where some alcohol was. Grabbing the hot mug of blood, he took a beer for himself and mixed it in. Warm beer blood wasn’t exactly the tastiest thing in the world, but Spike couldn’t really taste it as a human could, and all he needed was the feel of the two liquids working on reducing the pain. Knowing that Buffy would come after him if he lingered for too much longer, the British vamp moved back to where the group was, to find the blond Slayer on the phone. He settled on the back of a couch, not too far away from Faith, hoping that she wouldn’t prove obstinate and move away from him just to spite him. Once Buffy announced that Dawn was on her way back, Spike couldn’t hold himself back from rolling his eyes. Silly little git was going to get herself killed because she couldn’t keep her rebellion phase in check. Well, if she was already on the plane, there wasn’t much to be done about it. He tuned out the rest of the info on Glory, sipping his blood-beer concoction, paying more attention to the sound of Buffy’s voice, which merely sounded hollow and exhausted. Really, with her wounds, she should have been ushered off to her room long ago rather than having to delve into such a topic. But Spike knew that anything he did would be useless and merely kept drinking his blood. +++ TAGS: Angel, Willow, Faith, Buffy WORD COUNT: 749 NOTES: ~

The nearly three hundred year old vampire was hurt. When he'd reached out to touch her she had pulled away from him. He knew she sometimes got this way because of her pride or whatever but still. It hurt that she didn't want to be touched by him. I always love being touched by her...no matter where, it sets me on fire... She'll be fine? There was truly something...off about her. Which made sense considering the situation. However something really told him that it wasn't about Glory at all. That perhaps, it had more to do with the blonde vampire drinking his blood in the kitchen. Yep. He could smell his pig's blood from here all warm and bubbling and delicious. Bastard...
Willow had one thing right; none of this made sense whatsoever. People seemed to be coming back from the dead left and right. Something even larger had to be bringing all of them back. However...wasn't the Glory the biggest they'd faced? Other than the first evil of course, though he doubted it was the first. The first hadn't ever rose anyone from the dead they'd only ever produced non-corporeal forms of them. So who or what could it be? "Did she say anything? Reveal any kind of...hints to you?" he asked incredulously, still unable to believe that this was actually happening. In a screwed up way it didn't surprise him. If life suddenly got good for a moment...best bet is that only moments later it'll be utter hell. Which it clearly now was.
Hadn't anyone ever told Faith about Glory? Clearly not considering how light she seemed to be taking the situation. He'd been told pretty much everything by Buffy and was slightly more in the know than the brunette slayer. He blinked as he stared at her and then his eyes moved back to the blonde slayer. He didn't want to explain as he hadn't experienced it himself. Instead he just waited for Buffy to explain, desperately wanting to help her with her wounds but knowing that he would be able to later. He'd help her before she went to sleep, knowing that if he didn't, he wouldn't be able to sleep at all. Nodding to her explanation of how they just badly escaped, he saw her cheeks slightly flush. "It was smart to run, Buffy." It's a simple statement but he was going for reassuring.
As a young girl runs into the room the group falls silent for a moment, listening to Buffy on the phone and patiently waiting to hear the news. "Better a plane, than..." he said, drifting off. A plane might be the safest place for Dawn right now. Although he'd heard the story of Glory before he listened intently. Hearing the slight crack in her voice at talking about her death he wanted to reach out and hold her hand, but restrained himself. He was still quite taken aback from her pulling away from him earlier. After she'd finished he glanced up to see Captain Peroxide strolling into the room. Paying him no attention he kept his glances to the girls only. "I think we've all had a long night...Maybe we should get some rest and meet tomorrow to discuss a game plan?" He asked softly knowing that both he and Faith were tired, and Spike and Buffy had to be tired with how they looked. With this he figured they'd all go their separate ways and meet up later to discuss a plan of events.
