- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -Sitting on the couch in extremely comfortable clothing she couldn’t help but sigh in happiness. Her best friend and her had decided on a movie night, something they hadn’t done in ages. The house was quiet for once…which was a fairly large surprise considering how many people actually lived there. The potentials who had been staying there had been picked up earlier to be taken to Rome since it was a school break. As much as she enjoyed helping young girls reach their potential so to speak, she was extremely glad for the break. The boarding house had become almost too crowded recently and she definitely needed some time to breathe.
The blonde slayer stretched out, feeling at home in her flare jeans that were a bit distressed but very comfortable, her gray tank top, black zip up hoodie and her hair in a messy bun that made her look like a teenager rather than a twenty five year old woman. Her face was void of any makeup, making her look even younger, something that two people had commented on when she had walked in the door earlier to say goodbye to the potentials who had been headed to Rome.
She flipped through the channels on the television aimlessly, waiting for Willow to come back in with the popcorn. They had sent out invites to Tara, Angel, Kathy, Doyle, Oz and a couple others but so far no one had replied. She wasn’t really surprised that Angel and Doyle hadn’t…something about patrolling and getting to know the area and yeah, Angel was a horrible liar. She knew as well as he did that there was very little that he would do to avoid watching some chick flick while hanging out with a huge group of people. She loved her the vampire, she really did, but he wasn’t exactly the most social person in the world.
She wasn’t sure where Kathy was, though she did know that AJ had driven into town the night before so she assumed she was with him. Tara would most likely stop by later as she had driven in from Los Angeles and had spent a bit of time with Willow, though Buffy hadn’t seen her yet. Oz was sort of MIA the past few days and the blonde wondered briefly if he was spending time with the blonde werewolf that they still hadn’t been introduced to.
Shaking her head she settled on ‘Friends’ to watch until her red headed best friend brought in the popcorn. She wasn’t sure which ‘chick flick’ Willow had rented as she had stopped by on the way home and picked it up…but either way it would be fun. Or at least she hoped.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Willow was so excited to be having a fun movie night, for once nothing crazy was going on. No crazy ex girlfriend coming to kill them all, no potentials with problems, or soulless vamps trying to kill them. Just a fun night with friends, popcorn and a movie. It kind of reminded Willow of the good old days when they were in high school, it was something Buffy, Xander and Willow would always do on the weekends. That is if they weren’t off at the bronze, or taken on whatever big bad was going around at the time. It was something they all did that Willow wishes they would do again more often.
Willow shook the jiffy pop that was cooking on the stove, along with the butter that was meting on the other burner. As she moved it more and more on the stove it begin to pop louder and louder, getting closer to being done. But it did seem to be taking longer then it should of, Buffy had to be wondering what was taking so long. “This needs to cook a bit faster’’ The witch said to herself. She then moved back a bit pointing her finger quickly at the bag zapping it with a bit of magic. When she did the bag begin to get bigger then it was real fast. But then the bag was getting way to big, to the point it was going to pop. “No no please don’t do that.” Till finally the bag popped, getting popcorn all over the kitchen. “oops!” Willow said to herself as she stood there for a moment. She then gathered up what popcorn she could putting it in a bowl, poring the butter on top of it. She quickly gabbed some soda’s and begin to walk out. But as she did Willow took one more look at the kitchen. “Oh man I will clean all this later, but now I have to get to Buffy.”
Willow walked into the living room with Buffy and quickly took a seat on the couch. She then looked to the Slayer handing her the bowl of popcorn. “By the way before you say anything, I will get to the kitchen later ok. I just wanted to tell you that before you said or saw anything, I mean I know how you are with the kitchen.” Willow knew how she was with keeping the kitchen clean, so she knew Buffy was going to go crazy when she saw it. So she figured might as well get ahead and warn her. Willow wondered who was going to make it over tonight, she knew Tara was coming she all ready had talked to her awhile ago on the phone. Oz she wasn’t so sure about especially with Tara here, he might not like that so much. “So Buffy who is all making it over?” She asked the Slayer curiously.
--------------------------------- --------------------------------- Tara had been doing to research at the library all day, but was very excited to get back to the house. Willow had told her about the movie night that Buffy wanted to have and Tara was completely game for seeing everyone. She had picked up a few pints of ice cream on the way back from the library and used the kitchen door so she could put it straight into the freezer. It was already melting and spilling out from underneath the lid and into the plastic bags surrounding them.
Tara took a few steps into the kitchen, groping around on the wall for the light switch, flipping it on and looking around the kitchen. She sighed, crunching a few pieces of popcorn as she walked over to the fridge and put the ice cream in the freezer. Putting her hands on her waist she sighed, looking at the mess the popcorn maker had made. She pulled her small notebook out of her bag, muttering a small incantation that caused the popcorn to clean itself off of the floor and float into the trashcan. “There.” She said, nodding and stuffing the notebook back into her bag, not noticing that she had a couple of pieces of popcorn sticking to her hair that had missed their journey to the trashcan.
“Hey, who let the popcorn monster in? The kitchen was in quite a wreck.” She laughed as she walked into the living room, putting her bag down on the floor next to the couch and sliding into the remaining seat, close to Willow. “I vanquished our foe, don’t worry.” Tara leaned over and gave Willow a kiss on the cheek gently, then turning to Buffy, “Hey Buffy, how have you been? I heard you guys had quite a crazy few months while I was in LA.” Tara snuggled against Willow and slid her sandals off. It was so good to be back with the gang. LA was interesting for a while, but that faded after the first couple of days. Oddly enough, she found herself missing the excitement of being around the slayers and potentials to some extent, though it was mostly just Willow and her friends. “So what are we watching tonight?”
Drifting back into consciousness, Giles’ eyes fluttered open from what had been a well-deserved nap. For months on end, the watcher hadn’t been properly sleeping, and now, under the warmth of his covers, his limbs felt heavy, like he wouldn’t be able to truly wake up. But he wasn’t exactly sure this wasn’t a dream right now. After all, in his arms was a woman he thought he’d never hold or speak to again. She had come back from the dead for some unknown reason… or at least a reason that she hadn’t told Giles yet. But as his mind cleared from the fog of sleep, he gave a sigh of content, selfishly happy that Jenny was here with him again. But a small bang downstairs pulled him from his idyllic thoughts and caused his brow to furrow a bit. He wasn’t exactly sure what it had been, but if it was some of the resident potentials getting up to no good, the watcher felt a certain amount of responsibility to put an end to such things before they burnt down the Boarding House. Shifting to sit upright in the bed, he looked down to Jenny, hoping he hadn’t disturbed her too much by releasing his grasp on her. She was probably awake now though, so he murmured down to her, ”Something’s happening downstairs. I’ll return shortly… or you could join me, if you’d like.” And though he gave her the option, Giles knew he would prefer the latter. If he let Jenny out of his sight, he was half certain she’d disappear. But in any case, the watcher rose from the bed and dusted the wrinkles out of his sweater and plain blue jeans. Descending the stairs slowly, he began to catch voices from the other room, namely Willow and Tara, both speaking to Buffy, as luck would have it, though what kind of luck it was, Giles couldn’t say. He had been waiting for an appropriate time to pull Buffy aside and speak with her about numerous topics, but between the Slayer’s busy life and his never ending pile of research, things had never quite lined up correctly and it felt as if the watcher and his Slayer were avoiding each other. But now, with Jenny’s arrival, he couldn’t leave them in the dark. And with this, perhaps the ‘Band-Aid ‘ method was the best way to go, one quick astonishing reveal for them all. The watcher moved to the entrance of the living room and tapped gently on the wall to announce his presence. It always seemed as if he was doing these sorts of things, interrupting what looked to be like a small social event with shocking news, but it had to be done, ”I’m sorry to interrupt, but I have to speak with you. With everyone, actually. It’s rather important.” He looked behind him to see if Jenny had followed. +++ TAGS: Jenny, Buffy, Willow, Tara WORD COUNT: 485 NOTES: I expect there will be tears later ;3
Jenny had half been expecting to wake up and find out that this had all been a dream. Or at least, that was what she'd liked to think she thought. However she knew it wasn't a dream in the slightest. The Powers had told her why she was here. One of the biggest reasons was to watch over Angel again, as she had in the past. She knew if Buffy found out there would be tension between them but she didn't want to keep it a secret this time. Buffy hadn't spoken to her for weeks back then, months even. Even though she was older and more mature now she still didn't want to deceive her again. She didn't want to deceive any of them honestly...but she wasn't sure how to go about telling them. Perhaps she should simply wait to see if they asked. Angel wasn't the only reason she was back, just one of the main reasons.
As her eyes fluttered open and adjusted to the brightness of the room, as the lights were still on, she took a brief moment to adjust before turning around to face her lover. The watcher was already sitting up and telling her that he was going to go downstairs. When he told her that she could join him if she wanted to, she simply nodded in response. Her voice wasn't coming to her just yet. Plus she needed to do a couple of things before she went downstairs. Watching him walk away and shut the door behind him, she slowly moved to sit upright. With a small yawn, she stood up and began looking around the year.
After a few minutes she found a mirror in the room. After doing what she could naturally, she muttered a few incantations in Latin. One to just slightly curl her hair at the ends as she liked, and one to freshen up and take the wrinkles out of her dress. The Powers had only provided her with this one outfit, therefore she would need to go out and fetch some soon. For now though, the simple white dress would do. After taking a few moments to gather her thoughts and prepare herself, she slowly walked to the door.
Taking a deep breath turned the knob and walked out into the hallway. Below she could hear several people talking, one of which including Rupert. The gypsy female then slowly began to descend the stairs, taking each step slowly as if she wasn't used to walking. Which honestly, she really wasn't quite used to just yet. Upon reaching the bottom landing the woman then slowly rounded a corner, ending up directly next to Giles and in front of Willow, Buffy, and Tara. Yes, she knew who Tara was though they'd never met. The Powers had allowed her to see everything that had happened while she'd been gone. As the group noticed her, she silently slipped her fingers into Rupert's as if nervous, looking to him for immediate comfort.
"Hey."
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -Snuggling into her black zip up hoodie she waited for her best friend to come back. Luckily she didn’t have to wait long before she saw the familiar red head walk into the room, though she was surprised to see an almost sheepish expression on the woman’s face. “What happened?” She asked…not being able to hold in her curiosity. Hearing the answer she groaned. Yeah, she wasn't all that much of a clean freak usually, but when it came to the kitchen anything out of place drove her crazy. It was a pet peeve of hers that always seemed to give those around her a little laugh because she didn't usually cook anything but for some reason she hated if the kitchen was messy.
“As long as it’s clean before I walk in there then I’m going to live in my happy denial bubble that there is no mess. However if I go in there and it’s still messy I won’t come out until I clean it so make sure that it’s clean.” She stated, winking at her best friend. She had gotten really good at living in denial over the years and while this time it was probably a good thing, it hadn’t always been that way.
Shrugging her shoulders at the question she turned her body so that it was facing Willow who was now seated on the other side of the couch. The two were essentially ignoring what was on the television, as she had known they would. They broadcasted tonight as a 'movie night' but really it was just a gab session. Oh well, all in good fun. "I invited a bunch of people over but who knows if any will actually come. I invited Angel and Kathy but Kathy's out doing something and Angel never answered. I invited Oz but he never got back to me either." She stated with another shrug.
Before she could say another word she saw Tara walking in from the kitchen. Before she could answer the question she heard that she had gotten rid of the mess and grinned a large grin in relief. "You are officially my new best friend for the night." She stated with a laugh, knowing it would get a grin out of both girls. "Last few months have been a tiny bit nuts but luckily we are settling down. Glad to have you back Tara, Willow was going a bit crazy without you.” She stated, winking at the young woman who she had grown extremely fond of over the years. She would admit that when she had first heard about Willow and Tara she had been surprised, but after seeing the two together she knew they were meant for one another.
Hearing a noise she turned her attention to the stairs, and watched with a furrowed brow as Giles made his way down. She watched as he tapped on the wall to get Willow and Tara's attention (she had a feeling he hadn't noticed her attention either) and quirked an eyebrow as he stated that he had something important to tell them. "Giles what's..." She started before her eyes widened to an almost comical level as she saw who was making their way downstairs.
Oh.
My.
God.
“Ms. Calendar?” She asked quietly, her voice shaking. She had no idea what to say, what to ask…so she just sat there with her mouth open and her eyes wide…waiting for someone to jump in with an explanation.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Willow couldn’t wait for tonight’s movie night, she had a feeling it was going to be a fun one. She knew that most of the gang was going to show up for sure, she wasn’t to sure about Oz though. Things have been kind of awkward between them with everything, plus she was pretty sure that he was busy seeing some new werewolf girl. Which was fine Willow was so happy that he finally found someone he has things in common with. “I don’t know about Oz showing up Buffy, I’m pretty sure he is probably busy. Which is fine with me, I‘m just so happy to have Tara home”
Not waiting long Tara had joined them in the living room, it seemed as though she had saw the mess Willow had left in the kitchen. She was the last person that she wanted to see the mess that was for sure. She then took a seat right down on the couch next to Willow, She had tried to hide her face from Tara not wanting to admit that she is the reason the kitchen was a wreck. But she knew that she couldn’t lie to her baby, especially when it sounded like she had cleaned it up for her. “I’m sorry I was the monster in the kitchen, I didn’t mean to trash it baby. Thanks so much for cleaning it for me though.” She said giving her a sweet innocent smile. “How does a back rub later sound to make up for it?” She then turned to give Tara a kiss on the cheek, hoping she wasn’t to upset for the mess because it was obvious that magic was the cause. “Anyway I have no idea what we are watching yet, I’m leaving that up to you guys. I’m just happy that we are all hanging together”
Not long after that the witch heard a tapping on the wall, it was Giles standing in the entrance of the room. It seemed as though he had some sort of announcement to tell the group, Willow just prayed that it wasn’t something bad. Other wise if that was the case then movie night was over for sure. “What is it Giles is everything ok?” She really hoped that something at home wasn’t wrong, or some new evil wasn’t brewing again. But then Willow could hear the shock that was in Buffy’s voice, so Willow looked to see what it was. She then slowly got off the couch to take a closer look, and when she did she couldn’t believe what she was seeing. “Jenny? But…how.” Willow stood in shock as tears slowly started to build up. The teacher that she loved who is reason she does magic now, was stading right there before them all. The big question was, how was she here?

--------------------------------- --------------------------------- It really did seem quite adorable to Tara how guilty Willow looked about the mess in the kitchen, sort of like a little puppy who you caught doing something wrong or in front of a mess. “It’s fine baby.” She kissed her on the forehead in response to the peck she felt on her cheek. “I slew the popcorn right into the trashcan. Well, slew with the aid of a spell. No wonder you were going crazy without me.” She smiled at both Willow and Buffy, settling into her seat. “I definitely think backrubs are in order later.” Tara ran her hand through her hair, frowning when a piece of popcorn fell in her lap, then playfully tossing it at Willow.
She stopped her shenanigans when she heard Giles tapping on the wall. At first, she thought they might be being too loud, but then he sounded much more serious than just that. “What’s up Giles?” She looked up at the stairs, feeling a little worried. Tara straightened herself up, fixing her clothing. This didn’t seem exactly like the kind of talk that she would have liked to have had with Giles the first time they met when she got back, but she wanted to help as much as possible.
Tara had heard little bits and pieces about Ms. Calendar here and there while she had been alive, though she had recognized that it was a bit of a sore subject with the group and had never pressed. Still, she knew that this homecoming of sorts was very, very unusual. It seemed odd to Tara that Ms. Calendar had come back to life as she had, though she doubted it was for the same reason. Of course, that was purely speculation on her behalf. For all Tara knew she had someone very powerful that she had to look after. She really hoped that she wasn’t there to bear some horrible news or as a warning about some big bad approaching.
She tossed her questions and thoughts away and sat next to Willow on the couch, not saying much of anything. Tara really didn’t have any relationship with the older woman, so she knew it would be best for the others to get their amazed reunions before she introduced herself or was introduced (the latter of which would be ideal in her own mind, the last thing she needed was the stutter-fest to start). It felt a little awkward at first, but Tara was so genuinely happy that Ms. Calendar was there. It seemed to make everyone happy, so it made Tara happy, albeit a little anxious.

Giles made to speak as each girl more or less gave a chorus of replies to his knock and request to speak, and though it was nice to know he could command their attention when necessary, he really didn’t have much to say. How exactly was he supposed to explain that another person, especially one so personally close to himself, was back from the great beyond? He hardly thought simply saying such a thing would do, and asking them to accompany back to his bedroom wouldn’t work particularly well either. So when he heard Jenny begin to slowly descend the stairs, he turned and watched her carefully until she reached his side. As his love’s hand slipped into his, Giles instantly took his place as the steadfast gentleman, and discreetly squeezed her hand back as a sign of reassurance. Her monosyllabic greeting was vaguely amusing, and Giles hoped that meant that Jenny was getting more used to being alive again, rather than being subdued as she uncharacteristically had been. Or perhaps she was changed and would remain that way, just as Buffy had been slightly different after her resurrection. But now really wasn’t the time for speculation about such things. Not only did Giles know that he had a responsibility to be Jenny’s support in this conversation, but he also was probably the one who would have to restrain Buffy’s and Willow’s enthusiasm, considering that Jenny still seemed a little shaky on her feet. At the moment, the shock on their faces was most likely exactly how Giles had looked when he had first answered the door and found Jenny standing outside it. Not that it was surprising, considering that the two young women who had known Jenny knew her to be dead. Poor Tara was probably at least mildly confused, but the watcher had very little idea how much the young witch who had recently come back from the dead herself had been told about her girlfriend’s former teacher. In contrast, Willow and Buffy were probably somewhere between overjoyed and distraught, and moreover, they were probably just as curious to know how she had come back as he had been. ”Jenny, I think it’s best if you explain,” Giles recommended, hoping that she would also delve into not just the hows but the whys of her recent resurrection. Hopefully the small amount of rest they had just received would help Jenny to recount her tale without fading too quickly on them. +++ TAGS: Jenny, Buffy, Willow, Tara WORD COUNT: 412 NOTES: Shortest post ever. The look on all of their faces was nearly...well, they were shocked. And why wouldn't they be? They were quite in fact seeing a ghost at the moment. Jenny hadn't been alive in nearly six years. That was a very long time in the lives of people like them. People who risked their lives nearly everyday to save others. So even one year was a very long time...however six was nearly an eternity. To Jennifer it had pretty much been an eternity. Although she'd been shown everything that had happened, it'd given her a migraine as she'd been shown all at once. She hadn't gotten to watch them as time went by as everyone thought happened in the afterlife. To her, it seemed she'd been gone for over a hundred years...time went by so slow in this world. Nonetheless she knew how long it had seemed for them.
Feeling the squeeze from Rupert's hand, she noticed hers wasn't clammy. Which was odd because when she was nervous her hands always became clammy. Perhaps there was something wrong with her new body...or perhaps, she wasn't nervous. How could she not be nervous though? It simply seemed strange to announce to old friends that you'd come back from the dead, and not be nervous about it. Maybe there was something wrong with her. Maybe she hadn't come back right, like she'd originally thought. Later on when she was alone she would certainly have to delve into that. Explore more of her own mind and feelings..explore more of this new world, see to it that she was still the same old Jennifer Calendar.
All of their jaws seemed to drop at the same time, and Willow even moved closer to her. As the tears began to build up in the readhead's eyes she knew she'd better explain to put them at ease. The words however didn't want to come to her at first...Come on Janna, get it together... Seeing Willow cry made her heat ache. Giving Rupert another small squeeze to comfort herself and him as well, she slowly let go of his hand. Next she crossed the gap between her and the redheaded witch. Once there, one of her hands fell to Willow's cheek to wipe away her tears. "Don't cry Willow..everything is alright" she said in a soothing tone. After the tears had ceased to fall she pulled back and faced the group as a whole, again standing next to her love.
"I know that this is hard for you all to understand, but it is me, and I am back..." the witch spoke softly, not wanting to start out with too many answers at once. "It seemed the Powers thought I'd be more useful down here then floating up in the clouds above." A tiny smile tugged at her cheeks, though she wasn't making light of the situation at all. She simply didn't want this to be a sad moment. Moving her eyes to catch the slayer's, she made sure to keep them there as she continued to delve back into her situation. "You see...Angel lost his soul...again. While my history is not well with him, they know I'd forgiven Angel a long time ago. Part of the reason I was sent here...was to watch over him. Again" she said, emphasizing the last word as she threw Buffy an apologetic look. The last time she'd hidden her agenda about Angel, Buffy had been angry. This time she only hoped telling the truth would work out better for her. Plus, that was only part of the reason she was back.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -Hearing Willow's croak she looked over at her best friend, seeing the tears coursing down her face as she stood up. Clearly Willow hadn't had anything to do with Jenny's reappearance. She had thought for a brief moment (though she really hadn't even let herself get to the thinking part of it...it had really only been the flash of an idea) that maybe Willow had done something, but the shock on her face was clear as day so she knew that she could relax about that at least. She would be lying if she said that she hadn’t been worried that Willow was bringing people back from the dead again, so she was glad to having been wrong.
Watching as her former teacher walked over to Willow and wiped away her tears she felt a pang at the knowledge that Willow had never had that. She knew that Jenny and Willow had gotten closer before the woman had died. Willow had looked to her as a mentor just like she had always looked to Giles. She couldn't imagine the way that she would feel if Giles god forbid would have died and then reappeared six years later. The thought was gut wrenching to her and for a brief moment she thought about running over and throwing her arms around her watcher. The only thing that stopped her was the fact that he was British and would stutter and pat her back awkwardly and then make an excuse to clean his glasses...which would just make her feel bad. So she refrained...but just barely.
Feeling someone's eyes on her she looked away from wherever she had been staring to look at Jenny, the woman's eyes gazing into hers in an almost unflinching way that on anyone else would make her uncomfortable. However clearly there was a reason for this so she held the woman's eyes steadily, waiting to hear what was going on.
Tensing up at hearing her words about Angel she dropped her eyes, not wanting to focus on anyone in the room, especially not Giles. Angel had warned her that Giles had found out that Angelus had resurfaced...and with that knowledge she had avoided her watcher at all costs. She hadn't known what to say to him about it and prayed to everything holy that if Jenny really did know everything about Angel losing his soul, that she hadn't seen everything.
Oh god, she felt like she was going to be sick. There were only a few things that she had done in her life that she had truly regretted. Sure everyone had their little regrets...but there were only a few big things that she had done that she truly wished had never happened. One of them was allowing Angelus into her mind and heart. And the worst thing about it was that she wasn't sure if she could go back that she wouldn't make the same damn decisions over again. She felt weak just admitting that to herself but she couldn’t help it. She remembered she had told Angel something similar a few years back. I can fool Giles, and I can fool my friends, but I can't fool myself.
Hearing that she was here to watch over Angel again should have made her angry. A part of it did since it wasn't Angel's fault that he had lost his soul. Hell it really wasn't anyone's. It's not like they had given into their passion or anything of the sorts. They had simply been laying down with Kathy. It was all completely innocent and now there was that fear that something as innocent as that would set it off again. Not saying a word she simply kept her head down, refusing to look at anyone. She could feel the tension in the room rolling in waves but still she didn't speak.
Really, what was there to say?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Willow still couldn’t believe that Jenny out of all people was here with them, she was so happy that it almost felt like a dream and none of this was real. Willow had taken it really hard when Jenny was killed because she really looked up to her, she had gotten Willow into her magic and pagan beliefs that she still to this day stands by. So all of this had came to be a surprise to her, she was so happy words couldn’t not express what was all going threw her head right now. There was just so much that she wanted to tell and say, and now she finally could after six years. Willow just didn't want to overwhelm her, even though she knew it was going to be hard not to at first.
She could tell that Jenny could tell that she missed her as well, just by the way she looked at Willow. They were getting to be close friends before she was killed, to her Jenny was more then a teacher she was someone she could come to whenever she needed help. Sadly she was more a mom then Willow’s ever was. Willow’s mom tired to burn her at the stake even, not really a good parent at all. Jenny had came closer to the young witch, even wiping a tear from her face. It was then that Willow knew this really was happening, feeling her trying to take away the tears. “I’m sorry but its hard not to cry Ms. Calendar, I have missed you so much. I cant believe you really are here after all this time.” She still called her Ms. Calendar out of respect, because to her she will always be her teacher who she will always look up too.
Willow wanted to know how she was here and it had anything to do with how Tara was back. But Jenny had taking the words right out of her mouth telling them all that it was indeed the powers that be, it seemed they were busy keeping close watch on everyone. First Willow having Tara back with her, and now Jenny keeping watch on Angel she knew Buffy had to be furious. It made Willow feel bad almost like she should be upset as well for Buffy, but at the same time she missed Jenny so much. This really was going to be something new for the gang to go threw, but what else was new there was always something going on ether good or bad.
Willow knew that Buffy wasn’t going to say anything, there was a bit of an awkward silence after Jenny had spoken. So the witch knew she needed to do or say something. “So that’s why you are back here then to watch Angel, is this something you want to do?” She was nervous when she spoke not really knowing what to say, this still was all so shocking to her. On top of that she was a bit worried of what Buffy had on her mind right now with Angel, whatever it was it couldn’t be good. Good thing Giles is here for when the Slayer loses it.
--------------------------------------------------Xander was out and about doing things, they were just a few errands. He wanted to get back to the house before anybody had dinner. After he was done all his errands he went to one of the pizza stores to order some for the boarding house. He ordered cheese and pepperoni, then ordered Hawaiian, both large. To be honest Xander hadn't really been altogether and he didn't hangout with his best friends as much as he'd like. He needed time to just recollect his thoughts and most days he just took long walks or worked out since he needed to be at least sort of strong to take a vampire down or demon.
He checked his phone to see if he had any messages but he didn't. He texted Buffy saying, don't cook anything crazy tonight, got the yummilicious pizza. I'll be home soon. After what seemed like forever he finally got the pizza boxes and called a taxi. The taxi arrived and he quickly got inside it. He hoped that the pizza wouldn't get cold, he was seriously hungry and he just wanted to get home and relax. He also missed talking to his friends, he hadn't even talked to Giles yet which was just weird. He just wanted to talk to everyone and enjoy himself. He also needed to talk to Anya but he hadn't seen her for weeks, he wasn't sure what was happening with that girl.
The taxi finally arrived at the boarding house and Xander gave the taxi driver his money. He then walked up the steps and opened the door. Now, to the kitchen but it seemed like no one was in it. He heard talking from various people, but there was one that was of, a voice he hadn't heard since high school, but who was it? He also heard Giles which just made him excited. He went to the living room since that was where the talking was coming from. He entered the living room. "No need to worry everyone I got the gr-." Xander couldn't believe what he saw, he even dropped the pizza boxes from his hands. "Ms. Calendar? Long time no...see?" He knew that he recognized the voice, it had been so long.
He looked around the room to see Buffy in shock and Willow apparently crying. And then he saw Tara. "Tara! Gosh. so many surprises today." Was everyone that was dead just coming back from the grave? He couldn't fully wrap his around this situation. This still was making no sense to him. He picked the pizza box up and put it on the coffee table just in case he was going to drop it again. "Sorry, I didn't want to drop it again." Xander could feel that things were tense but he didn't get why since Ms. Calendar was back, was that a bad thing? It really did suck being out of the loop and not knowing what was going on.
"So, why the chum faces?" He wanted to know what happened and why everyone was so sad and why Buffy looked tense. He knew her history with Ms. Calendar wasn't the greatest but still it had been years and she must have been over it now. He was definitely going to get to the bottom of whatever it was. He knew his friends would have to tell him now, there was nothing to hide, it seemed like everything was out in the open, or maybe something evil was coming. He didn't want to assume things though, so he would have wait and see what they would tell him.
It felt a bit awkward as Jenny let go of his hand. Now feeling a bit left in the lurch, he didn’t know exactly what he could say, but he also didn’t dare leave, even if his emotions seemed to be contorting right along with all the women in the room. But stiff upper lip, that was the way of the Englishman, though Giles himself was not conscious that he was perpetrating the stereotype on purpose. But what did he have to say? Jenny was soon back at his side, but the watcher was still more of an observer rather than a supporter, focusing on what was being said and who it was being said to. And while it was not pleasant to hear that Jenny was here to watch Angel and by proxy, contain Angelus, it was not so surprising. Also not surprising was that Jenny’s gaze landed directly on Buffy. He certainly had his own things to say on that matter to the Slayer, but they would have to wait. He would breach that with as much decorum and sensitivity as possible, and it certainly wasn’t going to be in a public forum like this. Not wanting to think on that future confrontation any longer, Giles continued to take in and analyze the conversation, nodding with younger, red-headed witch’s question, ”I have to agree with Willow, actually. It’s a bit concerning that the Powers would pluck people from death solely to do their bidding… especially as rapidly as they have been. I don’t mean to be pessimistic, but I-“ And his voice trailed off as footsteps approached. Strangely enough, it was Xander, who seemed to take Ms. Calendar’s (and Tara’s as well, it seemed) resurrections rather casually. He dropped something, just as Giles had, but soon was back to his normal light-hearted nature. Though in most cases, Giles would have not appreciated the younger watcher’s brand of humor, but in this case, there was an exception to be made. Perhaps it would make the tension in the room decrease. ”Ah, Xander. Excellent timing.” Actually, even though his voice had taken a rather dry and pointed tone, Giles wasn’t clear if he was being sarcastic or not. The trio of students, the original gang was now assembled, as they should have been. Giles collected his thoughts and resumed where he had left off, ”As I was saying, the number of those who have returned from the other side has been steadily growing. I can’t help but think that perhaps they’ve all been sent for a common reason… as some kind of reinforcements.” And though he did not say it, perhaps their return was the sign of something horrible happening. A war brewing. After all, the times that Giles knew of where the Powers had brought someone back, it had been so that they could rise to fight again. Turning back to Jenny, he felt his brow crease, simply appalled by even the thought that she was being used as the Power’s pawn, ”Do you know the other reasons you were sent here?” The watcher cautiously asked, unsure if he would like the answer he received. +++ TAGS: Scoobies WORD COUNT: 526 NOTES: ~
Willow was simply breaking her already fragile heart. As much as she tried to wipe away the tears it seemed that they didn't want to go away. She thought that maybe she should just let them fall. Perhaps Willow needed a cry, some sort of release to show how she was feeling. When she'd been told of Jenny's death, she had been utterly dumbfounded...and had cried for hours. Yes, Jenny had been forced to watch that as well. It had only made her love the redhead even more. They'd always had a special kind of relationship, much like Buffy and Giles. "I know, I've missed you too, Willow. All of you." Her words were soft. As if her voice was a flower petal floating across a pillow top, or a narrow brook quietly pushing along. Something about her since she'd been brought back was...softer. Quieter. Or perhaps it was simply her trying to readjust to this life.
Although she hadn't expected the slayer to be glad about the revelation that Jenny was sent to watch over Angel, she wasn't expecting her to simply not say anything. Not even a word, and soon she broke eye contact as well and simply hung her head. It confused her, but she understood at the same time. Jenny had seen what Buffy had done with Angelus...she knew everything. She knew this was hard for her, as it would be hard for everyone to know. Still the slayer hadn't exactly ever been speechless and she couldn't help but find it a tad bit strange. Nonetheless she simply continued to look at the slayer for a moment. As if emotionally and psychically trying to reach out at her. She was trying her best to push good vibes her way..though she hadn't a clue if they'd actually reached the blonde or not. Hearing Willow speak up and break the silence, her gaze left the blonde. "It's not something I have a choice in" she stated simply. Certainly avoiding the question of whether or not she wanted to, though it was the truth nonetheless.
However it was then that another voice interjected itself into their group conversation. That of Alexander Harris..Xander. Oh, how she'd missed Xander as well. Another one of her "children" from back in the day. Watching him drop the pizza boxes she allowed a tiny laugh. "Yes, very long time no see....still the same old Xander though" she said with a small smile. She watched as he seen Tara and fumbled around with the pizza box again. Some things never change... And then Giles asked her the question she'd been dreading. Why she was here other than to watch Angel. The real reason so many people had been returning from the dead...the reason they were all being brought back together again.
It went dead silent. All eyes were on Janna at the moment. Everyone was looking to her for answers she wasn't sure if she wanted to give. However at the same time she knew if she didn't give them, it'd be worse in the end. They'd think she was hiding something, they'd question her loyalty. Making sure she was facing them all she subconsciously edged a bit closer to Rupert, slightly standing just behind him by an inch or two. She cleared her throat. "Right before I was sent back down...it was eluded to me that we would be seeing a lot more familiar faces. That was all they said. They showed me everything I'd missed...and here I am."
