- - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - -Hearing Willow's statement about going to get the girl while Oz started playing for some reason seemed like a really bad idea to the blonde slayer. She wasn't sure why it seemed as if something was going on between Oz and the blonde girl but it did...and she also knew that there were a lot of unresolved feelings between Willow and Oz...so this had to be extremely awkward for the male werewolf. She doubted it would be made better by Willow going over there and introducing herself as Oz's ex girlfriend. Actually, if Buffy thought about it, Willow was probably the reason she wasn't coming over to hang out with them at all. Not that she would tell Willow that but still, she just had that feeling.
Hearing Willow's comment which broke them out of listening to Oz play she looked over and groaned loudly. "Seriously!?" She asked, though it was clear that she was talking more to herself than she was to anyone else. She knew that Angel hadn't known she and Willow were meeting up with Oz at the beach. She hadn't told him as while they were back on speaking terms they still weren't back together or anything and while she knew he would have probably come to see Oz, she didn't want him to feel awkward. Besides, she figured she would end up bailing early and patrolling and didn't want Angel to feel obligated to come with her. So while she knew he hadn't brought the vampires there on purpose, she was still annoyed.
"Can't get one simple night can I?" She asked before opening the messenger bag that she had brought and threw Oz and Willow both stakes. Shaking her head at Oz she grinned. "Seems like being away from the Hellmouth has made you a little rusty. You know by now you should always carry a stake with you." She stated, wagging her own stake at him in a mock annoyed fashion before standing up and heading over to where Angel was fighting. "Need a hand?" She asked him before jumping into the fray, punching two vampires in the nose and kicking a third, her dress clearly not the best for slaying but eh, what could she really do?
Looking over to make sure Willow and Oz were both alright she turned back to her fight, throwing one of the vampires into the water with a splash and couldn’t help but laugh. “Damn, I should have brought a priest with me to bless the ocean…then he’d be burning instead of just wet.” She stated before getting punched in the face. “Okay ow! Clearly no one likes my punning anymore.” She stated with a pout, standing up and throwing a punch back. “How do you like it?” She asked, shoving a stake into the vampire’s heart before kicking another one in the stomach. “Thanks honey for bringing me a present…though I would have settled for chocolates or flowers instead.” She threw over her shoulder at Angel, having no idea if he heard her or not.

- - - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - - -Not realizing who the people in the crowd were right away as he was busy, Angel threw himself into the huddle of vampires. While none of them had weapons, he at least had a sword. It wouldn’t necessarily make him win the battle but it would certainly help. After all there were eleven of him that he’d counted, possibly more, and only one of him. That was dangerous odds no matter who it was and he knew he was a great fighter. Second best only to Buffy, he wondered if he’d even get out of this. However how could they kill him when none of them had any weapons? Unless they all held him down and simply ripped off his head. Which, was definitely a possibility. Not to mention the fact that he didn’t particularly like being next to the ocean. Despite it being peaceful it brought back bad memories. Particularly memories of him being locked in a coffin, starving to death for months at the bottom of the ocean while coral literally latched onto his imprisonment. Yeah, definitely not fun memories to be reminded of.
Two of the vampires rounded him specifically, though others were behind them. Angel ducked to avoid a fist and sliced at that vampire’s legs, essentially chopping them off. Probably not the best idea with a crowd of humans less than a hundred yards away. Still if he had to do it to save them, let them be scarred. Better scarred then dead he’d always said. Well actually he’d never said that…but still. Just as he got back up to standing height another rushed at him. Spinning around in a full circle he decapitated this one. Ten left, with one on the ground without legs. Success. However he then feel an elbow hit him in the back by where his undead kidneys were. Stumbling forward a bit, he lashed back at the vampire and shot the butt end of the sword into the vamp’s midsection. As that vampire doubled over, he went on to the next.
Hearing a familiar voice he heard Buffy call out to him, though he didn’t look, didn’t have time. Decapitated one more, kicked in the jaw. Flying back a few feet his sword fell out of his hand and on to the ground. Kicking himself up and kicking a vampire in the chin, he quickly grabbed his sword again so that another vampire couldn’t. Losing head wasn’t something he felt like enduring tonight. ”I’m fine” he yelled back to the slayer, indicating that he didn’t need her help. While it might not have been true it did make him smirk a bit. ”Sorry, never been the best at gift giving” he replied back to her, throwing a spinning kick and sending a vampire flying into the water and smackdab into the one that Buffy had just sent there as well. As he turned to face the rest of the horde, he noticed Willow and Oz in the fray as well. ”Oz” he said, nodding as a quick way of saying hello as he barely dodged out of a roundhouse kick. Leaning down he swung his sword into a vamp’s midsection and as he doubled over, he stood back up to finish him off. There were still about half a dozen of them left and he hoped to god there hadn’t been any human causalities. If he’d led any humans to their death tonight, he wouldn’t forgive himself. It was far too difficult to keep track of them though with all of the commotion about. As a vampire rushed the slayer he quickly grabbed him, holding him by the neck with his sword as he struggled, his chest exposed and ready to be staked by the slayer if she’d been paying attention. If not, he was probably about to be head butted. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~It seemed Oz was a bit rusty not even having a stake on him, didn’t he learn Slaying with them that no were was safe anymore. He should always have a stake on him no matter what, even if he though that town was safe. Willow has learned over the years no were in the world was safe anymore, not even in your own home, well Except from vampires it is. “Oz you really should keep a stake on you what were you thinking? Come on You know better then that, didn’t living in Sunndale teach you anything” She said hitting him on the arm playing around. Buffy had handed her a stake as well as Oz. “No Buff I‘m good, I always have a stake on me. I leaned that the hard way when you don’t have one.”Willow was ready to go and take on some vamps, she actually was going to enjoy this very much. Getting to show Oz how far she had came with her magic after all this time, plus it was fun getting to fight next to Oz again with the gang. She really had missed all there times being together, even the times they went Slaying with Buffy. For what Willow remembers they were a good team when it came to kicking vamp butt. She just hoped that fighting for some reason didn’t bring out the wolf in him. Willow begin to rush over with the rest of the group taking on the first vamp that got in her way. She pushed the first vamp to the ground staking it into the chest, the second came from behind her trying to grab her around the neck. “I don’t think so mister!” She had to get him off her the best way she knew how, and she really didn’t feel like throwing a heavy man over her shoulder. She couldn’t really do that as well as Buffy could. So she did a spell causing her hands to glow hot making the vamp want to let up. She was now facing him glad to have him off her neck. “What can I say I’m on fire! But you know Maybe you should cool off a bit.” She then shot another ball of, this time throwing him in the water. She quickly had to turn again to another vampire making there way to her, this time without thought she shoved the stake deep into his heart. She watch as he disgraced into nothing. She then looked over and saw a bunch of vamps around Angel, she wanted to use magic to get them off of him but she couldn’t take a chance of hitting him with magic. Buffy might not be so happy with him, or Kathy for that matter. So she did the best she knew how to, making her way over there with the stake tightly in her hand really to help Angel. “Hey Angel some party huh!” She said while fighting with him. ---------------------- ---------------------- Oz caught the stake as it was thrown to him. It had been a long time since he had needed a piece of wood to protect him. Now that he could shift on command. Most vampires turned tail and ran when a werewolf shifted, not to mention one outside of the full moon. There were few things that frightened the demons of the night, but he was one of them. Still he wasn't about to go shifting on a beach full of people and especially his friends. There was too much risk involved. In the chaos he might lose himself, in the fray the wolf might break the surface of his mind and breach into full control. No he wouldn't allow that. So he gripped the stake and put his training to use, and said nothing of his inner turmoil. “Well I was expecting a beach gathering not a vampire hootenanny.” He shrugged and rolled his shoulders, getting himself ready.
There were many levels of control and he had been gone almost five years. He had learned how to defend himself in human form, how to tap into his strength, use his hearing and sense of smell. There were positives to the wolf. Which was one of the things he was finally starting to accept. He dove into battle watching the others throw their kills with all their usual wit. It felt good to be back. To be kicking vampire ass along side everyone. Though it worried him Willow being in danger, and what about Cara. He spared her an apologetic glance. This is what he got for being a scoobie. A vampire rounded on him, as he seemed to be the weakest of the lot, a werewolf was not frightening outside the full moon. His attacker swung and Oz carefully ducked it. He came up quick and jabbed a vampire in the jaw a bit harder then a human should be able to, knocking it's head back, and while it staggered, he slammed his left hand, holding the stake, into the vampire's heart. It turned to dust.
He spun in place in time to see Angel say his name. He nodded his chin in silent greeting, and crossed the distance as Angel pulled another vampire, exposed to his chest. “Hay” Oz responded and wasn't the slayer who filled the void Angel had created. He staked the vampire in Angel's arms turning him to dust staring at the ensouled vampire in his usual passive manner, “You know you could have told me you invited friends.” He turned, just in time to see Willow get grabbed by a Vampire.
Everything around him was happening so fast. Anger boiled in his blood, adrenaline pounded in his ears, and the wolf howled in wild rage. Willow was in danger. Willow was going to be hurt. Fur rippled across his skin, along the back of his limbs, though only Angel was close enough to see it, and his pupils expanded. It seemed Willow was right about taking care of herself though for no sooner had it happened then the vampire was sent staggering and soon after, dust. Oz forced himself to breath, forced the wolf back into the deep places of his mind. For a moment he stood perfectly still, shaking slightly. The thin layer of fur receded and his pupils returned to normal. He forced his eyes from Willow.
He couldn't watch her fight. He couldn't watch her in danger. He would have fled the battle if he knew that wouldn't shed light on his current situation. Instead he swung himself towards one of the remaining vampires and took up a fighting stance. He wasn't going to bail when he didn't need to. Beside they might still need him. ----------------------

- - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - -The waves crashed around her as she simply stood there and existed. She wasn’t sure what had kept her from going and joining Oz and his friends…but something held her back. Maybe it was the fact that she really didn’t know any of them…maybe it was because she wasn’t really interested in being the outcast of the group…or maybe it was the red head that she had a feeling was his ex girlfriend…the one he couldn’t seem to let go of. She knew that he said that they were over and what not but she had a feeling his heart was screaming something quite different than his brain.
She had never been the one to get in the middle of others. If her friends were fighting she stayed out of it, not wanting to get in the middle of an argument. If her parents disagreed with something, she’d keep her opinion to herself even when asked, not wanting to be drawn into the disagreement. This was another example of her staying out of things. She refused to let herself get drawn into some weird love triangle….she saw enough of that on television that she didn’t feel the need to add it in her day to day life.
Her thoughts roamed from thing to thing, person to person, until the wolf inside of her caused her to look up, her eyes glinting as she saw… a vampire being chased by a bunch of other vampires? What the hell? Before she could head over she noticed the blonde throwing stakes at Oz and the redhead before rushing over, seemingly helping the dark haired vampire who had been chased. Seeing the group outnumbered she sighed and looked around, seeing a piece of wood that had been in the current but was fairly dry that she could use. Breaking it in half so one side had a point she ran over, jumping into the fray and quickly taking a vampire by surprise, staking him through the heart.
She wasn’t a fighter by any means but she could hold her own thanks to her werewolf strength and speed, though it was clear by watching that the brunette vampire (yeah, she was still really confused about that) and the blonde girl were amazing fighters. She wasn’t sure what or who they were but it seemed like they were on the same side as she watched the blonde say something to the other vampire. Hmm….this was very strange.
Staking two more vampires throughout the fight she quickly noticed the dust was settling around them as all the vampires were gone. Meeting Oz’s eyes once she turned around and ran, not wanting twenty questions to be played out tonight. She didn’t like fighting, but would if the need should arise. She had a feeling Oz was going to get interrogated and as much as she felt bad about that she couldn’t exactly do much about it. She’d explain if she ever saw him again that the only reason she knew how to fight them was that a friend of hers had been turned back in Portland and had turned 5 others within weeks of being changed herself. Another werewolf had been around then (one of the ones who liked being what they were) and told her how to fight vampires. She wasn’t nearly as brutal as he had been but she would fight them if the need arose.
Finding her bike exactly where she parked it, she hopped on it and sped away, never looking back.

- - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - -She rolled her eyes as she fought, her ex lover trying to pretend like he didn't need help. Yeah, that's why he just got kicked in the damn jaw. Mmm Hmmm. Yep, he was fine. She would have rolled her eyes again had she not have gotten punched in the jaw herself, though she didn't go flying like Angel had...then again looked like the vampire who had kicked Angel was a bit older, hence stronger. She knew damn well that she wasn't that much stronger than Angel...and if it came down to a fight between the two of them they'd both either walk away extremely wounded or they'd both be dead. She knew neither of them would give up a fight (though neither of them would want to fight the other one clearly). Either way she knew that Angel could take care of himself...that didn't mean that she was going to just sit back and watch.
Hearing his comment about gift giving she ducked as someone threw a vampire in her general direction though she had no idea who. "I'm buying you 'Gift Giving For Dummies' for Christmas Angel." She told him, groaning as she was kicked in the back. Damn, that was going to leave a mark. Throwing her leg out from under her she quickly side swept the vampire who kicked her, watching as he landed next to her and leaning over, staking him quickly. Jumping up she looked around, noticing they had an addition to their group. She watched in shock as the blonde who was a bit sloppy with her moves but held her own against one vampire, two vampires. She kept an eye on her though, for two reasons. One, should Angel be in game face (hadn't gotten a good look at his face yet) she didn't want there to be any confusion, and two if she got herself in trouble.
Taking a quick look at Oz and Willow she noted they were both fine before feeling someone coming towards her. Turning around she noted Angel had a vampire pinned and she had an opening. Jumping up she plunged the stake into the vampire's chest, taking it out quickly so in case she got pushed against Angel she wouldn't accidentally stake him...that would definitely be bad.
Groaning as she felt herself being kicked she quickly took Angel down with her, landing on his chest. This was much too familiar to the day that never was when the Mohra Demon attacked and she definitely didn't want to go there. "Why the hell do we always end up on top of one another when we fight!?" She asked, getting off of him and offering his hand, not giving him a chance to resist as she pulled him up before jumping up, staking the final two vampires. Looking around she noticed in awe that not one damn human around seemed to notice anything wrong. Granted she was glad of that but how could they simply just go around like nothing was happening?
Clearly they had the same selective memory that the Sunnydale residents did...which was odd but she guessed it worked out in their favor.
Noting the blonde girl running away she tilted her head to the side and looked at Oz. "Want to tell aunty Buffy anything?" She asked him, her eyes clearly stating she wanted answers.

- - - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - - - The vampire couldn’t help but smirk when he heard Willow call out to him. Despite everything that was going on she was managing to be perky Willow, happy to see him even though he’d brought a parade of vampires with him. ”It was so good I brought a couple of friends” he said sarcastically, throwing a punch and grunting as he spoke. While he did feel bad about dragging the entire nest with him out to all of these people, it had kind of worked out alright for him. It was lucky since if the gang hadn’t been out here, a civilian or two might have been killed. However they were out here and seemed to be in the zone, everything seemed to work out well. Maybe the Powers That Be didn’t hate him after all. Seeing Oz had been a good surprise. It had been awhile since he’d seen the wolf and his help was definitely welcomed. ”I guess I forgot to RSVP” he told the wolf sarcastically. As the vampire he’d been holding in front of him was staked, he brushed the dust off of him quickly. Both of the men watched as Willow was grabbed from behind by a vampire. The fangs began to enclose near the redhead’s neck and what he watched next wasn’t Willow or the vampire. Next he watched Oz, more specifically, Oz’s reaction. Fur began to spout out of the back of his arms and the back of his neck, his pupils grew dark and enlarged and his eyebrows seemed to grow together. The anger seemed to radiate off of him and Angel only watched as he began to change. If Oz became a liability, he’d have to put him down. Not hurt him as he was his friend, simply knock him out for a bit. However the wolf seemed to rein it in with a few deep breaths and was back to normal as Willow fended off the vampire. They had all dodged that bullet. Not wanting to waste time contemplating whether or not Oz would snap, Angel was back into the fray. At almost the exact same time someone else joined the fray as well, someone new. A blonde girl came into the fight, a girl he’d never seen before. Immediately he smelled werewolf and as he got closer to the girl the stench grew worse. Another werewolf? However he was too busy fighting his own battles to worry about it. As she took out a few vampires alone he realized she was on their side, probably even a friend of Oz. They seemed to share a look for only a moment, one he recognized all too much. Longing perhaps? He wasn’t sure, nor did he have the time to dwell on it. Someone kicked a vampire and he seemingly smashed right into Angel. The vampire’s back to his chest, Buffy quickly came in to finish the vampire off. Apparently she’d been the one to kick the vamp, or so she thought. Before he knew what was happening she then crashed into him, landing on his chest. Wide eyes looked up to her and smirked. ”You can’t stay away, can you?” Yep. He was loving this, and it showed. As they stood back up they finished off the remaining vampires and then brushed themselves free of sand and vampire dust. Looking to Buffy and hearing her statement, he then looked to Oz. ”She’s a werewolf too, isn’t she? I could smell it” he said softly to Oz. It made no difference to him really, he was simply curious. What mainly made him curious was the fact that she just took off running and never looked back. Then again, people had the tendency to do that around vampires quite often. Perhaps it wasn’t as strange as she’d originally thought.[/blockquote] - - - - - - - - - - - -Tag: Willow, Oz, Buffy Word Count: 638 Notes: ----

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Willow continued to fight off the vampires with Angel, it just seemed like they just kept coming. What was up was it war of the vampires day? “Hey Angel the next time you say you are bringing a bunch of friends like this out of the blue, give us a heads up will you. You know so we can prepare better for our guests” the witch said jokingly with a smile. Willow could see Oz fighting not to far from her, she could see the look in his eyes. It seemed as though as always he was worried for her, but he didn’t need to be she had this. This vampire wasn’t going to do anything to her, he could try but he wasn’t going to get very far if he did. Then another Vamp was trying to sink there teeth into her neck. “What is this drink from the witch day!” She then noticed that Oz was starting to act funny. Like he was starting to turn it seemed, she wanted so much to help him from turning but she was so busy fighting she just couldn’t. But then a few minutes later she noticed that Oz was ok again, he seemed as though they only reason that had happened was because he was worried for her. Which really didn’t make Willow feel any better, knowing that she was making the wolf in side go crazy like that. She then had seen Oz’s friend fighting right along with them, she really was doing a good job handling herself. It surprised Willow she had no idea that girl could fight like that, all though the truth was she really didn’t know the girl. She wanted to though, it seemed as though Oz really did like her. And if that was the case Willow wanted to get to know her, any friend of Oz was a friend of hers. But then not long after that it seemed as though she was gone with a flash, she wonder why she was such in a hurry. It was almost like she was hiding something. Finally that had finished off the vampires as the group all stood there looking at each other exhausted. It seemed as though they had took care of most of them or the others had run off sacred, ether way a job well done. Willow was wondering the same thing that Buffy was, why the girl was in such a hurry. It just seemed like she was hiding something, Willow couldn’t sense that from the moment she met her. But then Angel had to them all what she was, it seemed as thought there was another Vampire in town. “What she was a werewolf?” She said in shock quickly looking over at Oz. “why didn’t you tell me Oz? You know you shouldn’t keep something like that from me, or any of us for that matter. I’m guessing that’s why we had not met her yet, sacred of what I might think.” It all made sense now to why he didn’t want to work it out and get back with her. Because he didn’t want Willow to have to go threw with the fact, that he was falling in love with another werewolf yet again. Word Count- 550 Tagged- Cara, Oz, Buffy Outfit-Note-~~~~~~~~~~~
---------------------- ---------------------- Chaos swirled around Oz like a twisting serpent. Vampire after vampire fell to dust between the four of them. Then suddenly the five of them. His eyes fixed worriedly on Cara, but unlike Willow the wolf did not surge against his skin. Quickly realizing he was an open target he shot a glance around himself taking up a fighting stance with his stake. By that point all the vampires were dust leaving the beach looking the same as it once had. The humans in the distance hadn't reacted at all, probably hadn't realized they were two werewolves, a witch, a slayer, and a vampire from being killed themselves. Oblivious, care free, safe. It was good to know he had helped someone, even if they didn't know it.
He turned again as Cara sprinted off, watching her retreating back. Even as his friends came down on him like an oppressive wave, he could hear the distant rumble of a motorcycle. Cara was safe which made him relax a little bit. He sighed as the trio remaining closed in on him, not intentionally, but he expected questions. If Cara hadn't fought they wouldn't know. Still it was out in the open now and she had given him permission to explain if the issue came up. He let his arms drop submissively, letting them see he wasn't going to bolt like the new girl had. After all Oz had been the king of bail for quite some time. He was working to correct that, even if he would rather just pack up his things and head home.
Buffy was the first with a question out of her mouth, but Angel hit the nail on the head. He sighed and raked the fingers of his free hand through his hair, an uncommon gesture that showed he was figuring out where to begin. His eyes swung to Willow though, her accusing tone hurt more then that of the others. He knew she wouldn't understand. Willow was as he had been upon his arrival back into the world, afraid of his past. Afraid of other werewolves. Not that he had a good track record, or he could blame her.
“Hold on. Hold on.” He waved his hands downwards to try and calm the group. “Look she... smelled me.” He opted for that instead of telling the truth. He had always been very secretive about these things. He also did not want or need their scorn for putting people in danger. He was always cautious. Though he had missed Cara, no one ever got hurt on his runs. “when I was running in the woods. I already asked the big questions. Yes she locks herself up during the moon, no she is not going to go out on a killing spree, she has been a wolf a long time without incident. She isn't a threat to the safety of the city.” He met Angel and Buffy's eyes then his own gray-green pair dropped to the sand.
He knew they wouldn't approve of him keeping secrets. “She ran because let's face it, the slayer, a witch, and a vampire aren’t exactly safe company when you have a secret like that.” He stared serenely over at his guitars. “That's all I got. She is safe. Not the big bad wolf kind.”
He found himself unable to meet Willow's eyes. He had been ruing the moment he had to tell her. Her words stung, a lot. Anger rippled through him but he restrained it. He didn't need to start a fight on the beach. If they wanted to talk about secrets why hadn't Willow told him about Tera from the start? Maybe he wouldn't have attacked the poor girl if she had. He didn't say it, kept it internalized, kept it to himself. He glanced to Buffy and Angel with a sigh.
“I don't feel much like playing anymore. Think my mellow has migrated more towards the anxious. Can I head home?” He finally looked to Willow then back to the others keeping on his mask of indifference. It was all he had against the well of emotions he was feeling. Still in the back of his mind he knew Cara had gotten away from their scrutiny. He was glad of at least that. ----------------------
- - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - -Glaring at Angel's comment about not being able to stay away she swatted his chest. "Hush you." She stated. "You're the one who can't stop falling down every time you see me. Trying to worship my presence and all that?" She asked with a grin, clearly showing she was joking. “I mean if you want to pray about my holiness and all you could at least build me a nice shrine.” It actually felt good to be able to laugh and joke with him once more. Didn't happen too often but then again, when did any laughing and general happiness happen often in her life?
Sobering quickly at Angel's observation she switched her focus back to Oz, waiting for him to confirm or deny his accusation. It wasn't that she didn't trust Angel's sense of smell, as it had been proved right on more than several occasions, but she almost hoped that in this instance he would be wrong. The last time that Oz had brought a female werewolf around (though at that time it was extremely unintentional) Willow had gotten her heart broken, Oz had bailed after killing said female werewolf to protect Willow, and if it wouldn't have been for her he would have killed the red head herself. It wasn't that she blamed Oz for leaving, though at the time she did...but still...didn't exactly dredge up warm and fuzzy feelings.
Hearing Willow's comment she threw a look at her friend, though she doubted the red head saw it. What was Willow doing? She almost sounded hurt by the fact that Oz had kept it from her but how did that make any sense? Oz had come back for her (which was more than Angel had ever done, she thought to herself a tiny bit bitterly) but Willow had already been in love with Tara. As far as the blonde slayer knew, the red head was a lesbian, so why did it seem that her best friend was jealous of the possible werewolf that Oz had known?
That was definitely a conversation that she would have to have with her at a later date.
Hearing Oz's explanation she felt her body relax. "How long ago was she bitten?" She asked him, wanting to know exactly how long was 'a long time'. Hearing why she ran away she looked around and laughed. "Yeah, we do look like a scary bunch don't we? I mean me, you know, I'm a total badass. Willow over there looks like she could kick someone's ass. Then sunshine over here, eh, he looks like he could take a punch or two." She stated, grinning as she sort of made fun of Angel. Clearly when one looked at all of them Angel looked the most intimidating, however she liked to make fun of her...whatever he was. They hadn't gotten back together yet, though she wished they had. However they were on better terms...and that was all she could hope for at the moment.
Hearing Oz's question she turned her attention back to the matter at hand. "Uhh, yeah, go ahead. I vote we all do dinner tomorrow night. You know, at our place, where it's safe from vampire intrusion. Unless you count Angel...or Kathy...or Spike. But it's safe from soul-less vampire intrusion...as far as I know at least." She stated with an awkward laugh.
Yeah, this night hadn't turned out the way she had planned it...not at all.
- - - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - - -As he took a hit from the side, Angel grunted and threw a backhand to the attacker. Him and Willow seemed to be having a full-on conversation while fighting the forces of darkness. Which, in all honesty, wasn't that strange in their world. Something always seemed to come up and there wasn't much time to sit down and have a chat over a nice, steaming cup of tea. Or in his case, a steaming mug of pig's blood. "I'll make sure to do that next time" he told her, again sarcastically. One roundhouse kick landed on the vampire in front of him, causing him to spin around backwards and stumble around for a moment. Score. However after dusting a vampire, he then found himself underneath the slayer. It wasn't the first time it had happened, either. Heh. Probably not the greatest joke and he would make sure not to relay that to Buffy. Honestly when he'd even thought it, it had seemed more like something Angelus might say. Shaking this off he looked up to her with his eyes still widened and shot her a sly smile. "Shrine? Who do you think I am...Spike?" Take that! Not the maturest route, but an amusing one nonetheless. He still wasn't over the fact of what had happened between them and didn't honestly think he ever would be. At Willow's accusations, Angel found himself unsure of who to be looking at. Oz hadn't exactly done anything wrong and the last time he'd heard, Willow was now batting for the other team. Feeling a bit confused he glanced to Buffy and shot her a quick arch of his eyebrows. "She probably thought of us as the three little pigs..." he said, voice quiet. As Buffy shot him a "wtf" look, he tilted his head slightly. "What? Big bad wolf, get it?" Clearly she hadn't, though he'd thought he'd been being funny. Obviously it hadn't been quite as funny as he'd thought it would be. Turning back to the gang, he awkwardly shifted his weight off of his left foot and onto his right. "Sunshine?" he asked the slayer, giving her a definite glare. Yep she totally deserved the glare she received. The slayer could make fun of him all she wanted but he was still badass. He was the avenger for god's sake! As Oz asked if he could leave, Angel simply nodded at Buffy's proposal. Honestly he didn't plan to show up if it meant that Spike was going to be there too. Plus, he didn't eat. Regardless, he gave them all one last look and disappeared into the darkness.
