Following Becky had been simple enough. There was one highway that basically led into one road and eventually they had found the little town known as Mystic Falls. There seemed to be a cute little main street where Giles easily found parking and waited for Becky to join him. In the meantime, Giles organized his things within the messenger bag he carried. Now, among his brochure and the book Becky kindly had given him, were a stake, a cross, and a talisman. Giles hoped that he didn’t have to use the first two items, but it always was good to be on the prepared side. He opened the glove box of his car and pulled out a flashlight and a jackknife. Hopefully he wouldn’t have to use these either, but one never knew. It was really the talisman that he needed. It was charmed by the witches at the Bath coven to seek out the item Giles was looking for. The item was a gem or stone of some kind, probably no bigger than a raisin, and the witches had managed to narrow his search to this town, but no further. It was rumored to bring immortality and invulnerability to its owner, but at the cost of losing their humanity. Giles certainly did not want that in the wrong hands. And now, he had Becky to help him find it, like this was one of the little adventures he and the trio of Buffy, Willow and Xander had while they were all still in high school. ”Perhaps she could tell her soon-to-be husband and he can write a novel about it,” Giles smirked as he mused to himself aloud, not really trying to put down her fiancée’s career. He just didn’t know what to think of this man who was putting out accurate information about the paranormal world as fiction. He stepped out of his rental car, locked it and leaned against it while waiting for his new ‘assistant’. As soon as Becky got there, Giles gave a little wave, ”Becky. Ah… Thank you for showing me the way here.””Hopefully, this won’t be too difficult,” The watcher held up the talisman, a simple stone pounded into a hexagonal shape and painted with a red rune, ”This is going to search for a certain aura from an artifact I’ve been tracking. If it works right, we’ll be able to follow it right to the source.”He already felt a slight heat emanating from the stone, and Giles signaled for Becky to follow him as he felt his way towards the relic through the talisman’s mystical game of hot and cold. It soon led them out of the main street and into the woods. It seemed eerily quiet, considering it was still the middle of the day, and no birds or wind was heard at all. Everything seemed still, save the pair’s footsteps ”This is a bit more rugged than I had hoped,” Giles chuckled, trying to lighten the mood. Hopefully the young woman was having a better time than Giles thought she was, ”Would you like to know a little about what we’re looking for?”+++ TAGS: Becky WORD COUNT: 525 NOTES: The Adventures of Giles and Becky by Chuck Shurely. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Becky was really happy to have a new friend, she all ready didn’t have a lot as is so it was really nice to have met Giles. He just seemed like really fun person and someone Becky could trust which she really needed. Becky had way to many people in the pass screw her over that she though she could trust, it really was bad for her in school. Kids always were really hard on her and pretended to be her friend just so they could cheat off her test, so Becky has really learned to watch who she becomes friends with. Becky wondered what Giles was going to be doing in the falls, she hoped that maybe they would get to hang out a bit more then just they were now. She just didn’t want to lose touch. Becky had made it to Mystic falls and got Giles right were he needed to be, Becky parked the car and got out to see what was up. He had thanked Becky for getting him here, which for her really was no problem again what else did she have to do. “Don’t worry about it Giles anytime you need help let me know, it was my pleasure getting you here really.” Said Becky with a big smile. Becky was then a bit confused it seemed as though Giles had something up his sleeve, Becky really wondered what he was up. Giles had said something about something being difficult. “What are you hoping wont be difficult, if you don’t mind me asking. Sorry I’m lost here Giles.” Said Becky lost. It seemed as though Giles was looking for something, Becky just didn’t know what or why? “Wait a minute what is it that you tracking? What is taking you to the source I really I am lost here.” Becky was really trying to get what was going on, she really wasn’t one for being out of the loop. And if she was it drove her nuts, it just was how she was. It was also part of the reason she drove so many nuts. He then asked Becky if she wanted to know what is was they were looking for. “Yes Giles I do I’m very lost could you please tell me what is going on here? I’m dying to know." Becky Asked still lost as ever. Word Count- 395 Tagged- Giles Outfit- Click to see Becky's outfit.Note- I hope this post is ok, sorry i was really out of it when i wrote the post ~~~~~~~~~~~

”Oh.” Giles gave a little chuckle. Usually he was so verbose; he didn’t get people asking him to explain any further. More often than not, it was the exact opposite that people wanted. In fact, it was a bit embarrassing that he was so focused on his mission that Becky’s multiple questions didn’t register, ”I’m sorry. I-I… I must have been distracted.””You see, this talisman,” The watcher held up the hexagonal stone in his hand, ”Is currently tracking the aura of a specific artifact, that being a magical… ah, orb, of sorts. It’s very small and probably is no bigger than a marble. But it contains the potential to grant its owner immortality and invulnerability.””I’m looking for it to make sure it doesn’t end up in the wrong hands,” Giles concluded, turning until he felt the stone heat again, and traveled off in that direction, ”Once we find it, I’ll be going back to Rome to catalogue it and decide whether it needs to be destroyed or put in the vault.”A thought passed Giles’ mind that he could probably explain more or less what his job was and hopefully that would be of interest to Becky as they traveled through the woods. If he left out the training young women into being Slayers part, it would probably just sound like a simple researcher’s position, ”You see, there’s a council that I belong to which deals a lot with researching and tracking paranormal phenomena, from demons to relics. It’s rare, but I do get to travel about sometimes. I guess it can be a little more glamorous that it sounds.””What kind of a field are you in? Career-wise, that is?” Giles asked, while awkwardly climbing over a fallen tree. Sometimes Giles just enjoyed small talk and any profession Becky had or wanted to have would probably be just as interesting as she was. As he finished saying that, Giles halted, seeing that the talisman had brought him to some kind of cellar. Looking around, there were no other old ruins about, so this was probably some type of secret root cellar put out in the woods to hide illicit materials among other things. It would be a clever place to put all kinds of secrets. With a satisfied smile, he opened one of the rusty doors, dust flying up into his face making him cough a bit. Clicking on his flashlight, he could see slightly rotted wooden stairs leading into a cave-like room. It looked like a perfect nest for vampires, ”Erm,” The watcher turned to Becky. He wanted to ensure her safety, but asking her to leave after inviting her would probably be unnecessary and just upset the poor girl. Instead, he gave a wave of his hand for Becky to follow him, but added a gentle warning, ”Stay behind me.”+++ TAGS: Becky WORD COUNT: 475 NOTES: ~

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Becky really wanted to get what was going on here, she was just a little confused. It seemed as though Giles needed her help with something, which Becky was all for she just loved a good adventure. But with the way Giles use such big words it makes kind of hard for her to register. “Giles its ok sometimes when I get excited about something I don’t make any sense at all. I confuse a lot people, I do that a lot sadly. Anyway tell me what is going here again.” Becky said with excitement in her voice. Giles then pulled out a really need object, Becky walked up to get a closer look at it. She listen to Giles tell her what it was, she had never seen anything like it. She so badly wanted to hold it and look at it. “Can I see Giles it looks so cool! My question is were you get it at?” Asked Becky. It sounded like the orb was very important, and that this mission needed to be done. Oh this was so exciting for Becky felt, she felt Just like Sam and Dean getting ready to work a job. “Yeah Giles it cant end up into the wrong hands it sounds important, plus on top of that it is so awesome!” Becky said in a professorial like voice. She then had heard Giles say something about destroying it. “What Giles you can do that! Its way to neat, why would you have to do something like that it seems way to cool” Becky asked in a upset like tone. From what Giles does it sounds awesome, Becky had no idea how cool Giles really was. Becky knew they were going to make for great friends ship and team. “Wow Giles that sound like a very interesting job, and it sounds fun too.” Said Becky. He then wanted to know what Becky’s job was, And really she didn’t have a job. Her mom and dad have helped her out a lot, but she really didn’t want to tell him that. “I run a fan site for Supernatural, yep that’s what I do.” Said Becky. Which really wasn’t a lie, it was the truth sadly. Becky then begin to look around with Giles, it was so cool being on this job with him. Becky was just loving all the excitement. Giles had told her to stay behind him. “Don’t worry Giles I Will, but don’t worry if you need backup I’m here.” Said Becky ready for anything. ”Really?” Giles smiled at Becky comforting him in her own awkward way, ”I would have never guessed,” He was only teasing, of course. Hopefully she could tell that the sarcasm in tone was all in good fun. Going on missions with people who were annoyed with you was a most horrid and dangerous experience. The ex-librarian couldn’t help but chuckle at Becky’s enthusiasm over his tracking talisman, ”There’s a coven of witches… ah, good witches that is, wh-who are in Bath. Bath, England. They created this for me. It’s a bit hot to the touch, but,” He gently put the stone talisman in Becky’s hand. There was probably no harm in letting her hold it as long as it didn’t hurt her, ”There. Do you feel the energy flow through it?”It amazed Giles how pleased he felt with Becky’s company. Perhaps he had gotten too used to the darkness that seemed to overflow in the Sunnydale gang’s lives now that they had become adults. Not only was it the mission that was nostalgic, it was the presence of the person with him. It was nice that Giles could simply be the mild-mannered bookish man he preferred to be rather than the cold and calculating leader he had to sometimes become. No, he liked acting fatherly much better. ”It’s possibly very dangerous,” Giles chided her in response to Becky not wanting the orb destroyed. He felt a little bad saying that, considering he was treating her a bit like a child. Giles did not need to be this fatherly. He knew he should explain himself, ”According to the scriptures, whoever uses it will most likely… lose their soul.” Sometimes, though it was rarer than Giles expected, people did not believe in such thing as a soul and would have found his statement laughable. Then again, Becky was following him for a magical orb and believed that people were chosen by God to protect the planet. She would probably believe the same orb would turn someone evil. ”The book, you mean?” Giles got back to the conversation, just catching what Becky said her job was. He probably should have known. Perhaps her entire life was guided by this book, ”Your fiancée must appreciate that.”To Becky offering her ‘backup’, Giles nodded in a good-natured way, ”That’s very… reassuring,” The watcher mostly meant this. He was fairly certain that they wouldn’t have to fight anything and so it was good to have the extra pair of eyes to look for the artifact. He descended down the stairs, one at a time, making sure to never put his weight on a step before testing it. The flashlight showed what Giles expected. This was some kind of cold cellar, probably where alcohol was stored. The walls were simply packed dirt with a few support beams and old dilapidated wood shelving. But it seemed to go on for a while. He walked slowly and surely, but really wasn’t rewarded until about thirty feet in. Finally, tucked back what looked like a broken bookcase, a little black iron box sat, including a small lock. Was this possibly where it had been locked away? ”How hot does talisman feel?” Giles asked Becky, remembering that he hadn’t gotten the stone back from her, ”We may have found it already. O-o-or this could be… a piece of junk.”+++ TAGS: Becky WORD COUNT: 559 NOTES: No, it did not suck. Becky is so cute I just about died!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~When Giles told Becky she could hold the talisman, she got so excited. She begin to jump up and down a bit the way she always does when happy. She took the Talisman from him and begin to hold it tightly in her hands, it really was as cool as she knew it would be holding it. She felt so much like Sam and Dean did doing a hunting job, which made her even more excited. It was her dream to be a hunter like them after all, so all this was so much fun for her. “Wow Giles I did feel the energy going threw it, How cool!” Said Becky with excitement in her voice. Becky could understand why this thing did need to be destroyed, she could tell by the way it felt it had to have a lot of power to it. God only knows what it could really do Becky wondered to herself. “Yeah Giles I understand what you mean, we can risk anyone getting hurt. But you have to admit it is pretty cool. Man this job has to be hard sometimes for you, having to get rid of such neat things. It would be for me anyway. But yeah losing your soul not good, my poor Sam lost his soul once. It was so sad and Its something I never want to happen again” Said Becky. It sacred her when Sam had to lose his soul, it had made him such a bad person. It can never happen to her poor Sam ever again, Becky will make sure of it. Becky did very much so own a site for the book, but Chuck didn’t exactly love it or know that much about it. It was kind of Becky’s own obsessive site that she had made for her and fans just like her. “Oh yeah he just loves it! He really thinks its great” Said Becky sarcastically. But she did love her site, she had put a lot into it. Becky was still behind Giles trying to stay keep safe , this place was dark and kind of scary to Becky as much as she didn’t want to admit it. She really didn’t want to leave Giles side for even a minute, she didn’t know what could happened in this cave. They then had found some bookcase that might have had what they were looking for, He had asked Becky how the Talisman felt in her hands. “Strange Giles like its starting to warm up or something, why is that bad or good?” Becky then walked a bit closer to the bookshelf with it still in her hands, and when she did it begin to get warmer the closer she got. “ Ow Its getting hotter and starting to hurt my hands, what’s that mean Giles? Is it going to blow up or something” Becky asked trying to stay calm. Word Count- 486 Tagged- Giles Outfit- Click to see Becky's outfit.Note- I love this thread, they are a great team. The ex-librarian took a minute to think about Becky’s words, ”Well, more often than not, relics are rather harmless when not abused. I don’t have to destroy most of them. I might not even have to with this one. It just depends on how easily it’s activated. I’ll have to study it a bit before I decide how to deal with it.” ”It’s very hard when that happens to someone you care about,” Giles nodded, knowing full well the consequences of someone losing their soul. He had certainly could imagine how that felt for Becky, since Buffy had been through the same thing with Angel. Even Giles had to admit that Angel transforming into Angelus had left him with some uncomfortable memories, mostly since Angelus had taken so much from him. It had taken a long time for Giles to trust Angel to any degree after that. Hopefully Becky had an easier go of reconnecting with ‘her Sam’. When Giles brought the black metal box towards her, Becky confirmed the talisman was beginning to heat up, “Ah… no. No, it shouldn’t explode. I should hope it wouldn’t.” Giles plucked his handkerchief from pocket and used it to take the stone from Becky’s hands. He could still feel the talisman burning through the cloth, and he set it down quickly, ”And it’s good.”Fumbling through his bag, Giles came up with the jackknife, which he managed to slide the thin blade in between the lid and body of the box. Holding the flashlight in his teeth and setting the box on the floor, he grabbed the knife’s handle and with a growl of effort, snapped the blade down twice. The rusted lock finally gave way with a crack. Taking the flashlight back into his hand, Giles opened the black box and peered down into it. There, nested in a white piece of silk cloth, was a small orb. It must have been no bigger than a marble, and it was a strange other-worldly yellow swirled with a soft green. Giles was struck with a sudden urge to touch it, to hold it and bring it closer to study it, but he gathered his focus and shut the lid. With a sigh, he recognized that this object was probably much more dangerous than even he had thought. ”Well, that was much easier than I had thought,” Giles picked up the talisman, which had gone dormant since Giles had found what he wanted. He took that and the jackknife and placed them in his messenger bag, ”I think our work here is done.”Giles had not walked five feet before there was a sudden cracking sound. The watcher halted, placing his arm out and back to warn Becky not to move any further. His eyes flicked from wall to wall, following the beam of his torchlight, but he couldn’t make out where the disturbing noise had come from. Then again, there was another crack that rang out, closer this time. A bit of dust fell from the ceiling as Giles passed the flashlight beam over it. He took a step back and then the ceiling in front of them came down. He couldn’t tell what was happening at first, there was so much dust and debris floating around. Giles attempted to focus his eyes, but somehow his glasses had been thrown off his face. And he was on his back, probably thrown himself from the force of the cave in. With a groan of pain, he forced himself into a sitting position. He felt a few superficial wounds scattered across his body, but mostly was just sore. The flashlight had been knocked away and who knew where it had gone. And Becky. Where was she? ”Becky? Becky, are you alright?” Giles called out into the darkness. He hoped to God she was okay. She was a young woman. She was supposed to be married soon. Giles knew he could never forgive himself if she was hurt. +++ TAGS: Becky WORD COUNT:663 NOTES: I thought this might be an interesting direction to take things :3

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Becky could tell by the way he was acting he must have known someone who had lost there soul as well, it really is sad when it happens to someone you care about Because when it does it really like you have just lost the person completely. They don’t act like themselves at all anymore. You really worry that you might not ever get them back, or talk to the real them again. “it really is hard Giles, I hope that It never happens to someone I care about again anyway. I hope I never I have to go threw it either, I like my soul I really do.” Said Becky. Becky carefully handed the stone back to Giles, she hoped that it was going to explode that would be fun for anyone. She wondered what they were going to do next with it. They then begin to continue on there way threw the cave, Giles had his knife and flash light all ready to go. Becky still stayed behind him as they walked deeper and deeper into the cave. This was so exciting anything could happen right now at any moment just like Sam and Dean, Becky loved this she felt like an Important hunter. For once in her life she felt needed more then ever. They then came to a box, it must have been what they were looking for along and to here in this cave like this it had to be super important. Becky couldn’t wait to open and see what was inside. “come on Giles lets see what inside!” Said Becky with excitement in her voice sounding like a kid in a candy store. Becky watched as Giles opened the box reveling a small orb. “That was kind of easy wasn’t it Giles, we need to go on more adventures like this. It has been so much fun!”Becky and Giles begin to make there way out of the cave together, it seemed that there job was done here they had gotten what Giles had needed and they both were tired. But then as they were walking all the sudden Becky could hear a loud rumbling noise, it seemed to growl louder with every moment. “Giles what is going on?” Becky asked. Then ground begin to split into two pieces, Becky was having trouble keeping her balance. “Help ahhhhhhh!” Not long after that Becky had fallen threw the ground. Luckily for Giles she had just taken a hard fall but was fine, nothing was broken so far. She did have a bit of a headache and was kind of dirty from all the dirt and dust. Becky called up to Giles. “Yeah I’m ok I think, But I cant see anything and don’t know were I’m at Giles. Help me get out of here please I’m scared.” Becky didn’t know she was going to get out of this one, she wished Sam was here right about now to save her. When Giles heard Becky’s voice call out from the darkness, an overwhelming amount of relief washed over him. But she did sound very scared. Giles admonished himself for a moment. Even if he didn’t think something like this would have happened, he still was the one responsible for putting Becky in danger. Now he had to make sure they got out of danger together. ”It’s alright” Giles said, even though he wasn’t sure he telling the truth about that. He groped around and was rewarded with finding the flashlight, which with a bit of fiddling, Giles managed to turn on, ”Ah. There we are.”Turning the beam towards where the collapse had happened, revealing that the way out looked as if a solid wall had been set before them. With a grunt of effort, Giles stood and made his way over to Becky and lent a hand to help her stand. After that, he narrowed his eyes, trying to see what the collapse had done. Even with his glasses, he supposed it would be hard to see with all the debris shifting about. ”I believe,” The watcher coughed as some dust tried to fly into his face, ”Ah… I believe that might have been some kind of security measure.”He flicked the light over the ground a bit more, and moved to collect his messenger bag, the black box and his glasses, which were fortunately only dirty rather than broken. Returning to the blocked path, he scrutinized the wall of dirt and collapsed support beams. There was very little chance they could shift this without causing another avalanche. ”This way is blocked,” Giles turned back to Becky, ”I’m afraid it might be safer to see if there is another exit further on in the cellar. Often tunnels this deep would have multiple entrances and escape routes. If we come to a dead end, then we’ll have to attempt to move the rubble here, but… for now, it’s safer the other way. Just keep your eyes out for any light or drafts or such.”Tucking the black box into his messenger bag, Giles began to head further down into the tunnels, hoping Becky was sticking close behind him. He wracked his brain to think of something that could possibly help calm his adventuring companion, a potential topic that could distract her. Unfortunately, Giles thought that mystical relics and demonology might not be the best choice of discourse, and finally he settled on what he knew would make her happy—those Supernatural books. ”Ah, well, Becky. Why don’t you tell me more about how Sam and Dean started their hunting careers, if you know?” Giles asked. This would also be pertinent information if the council ever hired them, ”You certainly have me as a captive audience.”+++ TAGS: Becky WORD COUNT: 464 NOTES: Lol. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Oh thank god Becky she could hear Giles, she had felt a big relief knowing he was still there with her. Becky was really sacred that she was going to get hurt when she fell, with her luck especially. But it seemed like Becky was ok, so far anyway. Becky was always getting in some kind of trouble no matter how hard she tried not too, That’s one thing about her that does drove Chuck nuts. All though sadly for Becky’s sake it drive a lot of people nuts. Becky could see the light that Giles was shining, Becky could tell by the way Giles was talking it wasn’t going to be easy getting her out of there, it seemed like if they didn’t watch it the beams could give out even more. But Becky was just going to put all her trust into Giles right now and hope that he would get her out. Becky waited and not to long after that Giles had made it back to her, she was so happy to see him she could help but hug him. “ Oh Giles thank god your back with me!” Said Becky with excitement in her voice. Becky was happy that she could continue on with Giles back to there mission, and mission was getting the hell out of this cave. Giles had told Becky that they way there were going to take was blocked and they have to find a new way. “Ok Giles you just lead the way and I will follow, I have no idea how we are going to get out of there.” Said Becky. Becky just kept walking with Giles hoping to find someway out of here, this cave was so much bigger then she though it would be. Becky kept her head low to the ground sacred that bats might get on her hair, she didn’t really like bats that much. Giles then asked Becky to talk more about Sam and Dean, she could tell that he was trying to keep her calm. “Well Giles you see when Sam and Dean’s mom were killed it caused there dad to become a hunter, and the kids were kind forced to hunt at as well. But Sam he hated doing it he left for a while, but when his girlfriend died it kind of caused him to have to again. And I will tell you Sam he is special he has something about him.” Becky said with a sigh thing about how much she loved him. As soon as Becky was back on her feet, Giles felt her embrace him, the relief evident, as well as her fears. Giles’ face picked up traces of puzzlement and concern as she hugged him, but fortunately it was dark and he didn’t think Becky would be able to see that expression. It was understandable, after all. They didn’t know if there would actually be an exit on the other side of this cellar, though Giles fervently hoped there was. ”Ah. That’s quite unfortunate,” Giles remarked when Becky was finished telling him about how her hunter friends had come to their occupation, ”It always seems to be connected to one’s family. My father and his mother before him had the same profession I do. And actually, like Sam, I didn’t want to do it for a while and left. But I came back because a friend of mine died. Sometimes, one thinks it might be… ah, destiny. If you believe in that sort of thing.”Just like their bad romantic relationships, Giles couldn’t think of one person who was close to him whose family life wasn’t broken like the Winchester brothers were. Even Xander and Willow, whose parents were still alive, had rather tenuous relationships with their parents. Buffy, Wesley, Faith and many, many others among their ranks also had parents who had died suddenly or simply weren’t there for them. Even Giles had to admit that his father and he had never truly reconciled their differences. Perhaps Buffy was right and he should look into hire an official Watcher Council therapist. Just as that had left Giles’ mind, the flashlight beam caught the glint of some kind of metal. He ventured further, showing it to be some kind of wrought iron fence, its gate closed and locked, but beyond that seemed to be another staircase. The fence was short enough that Giles threw his pack over it, and with only a little trouble, he climbed it and landed on the other side. ”I think we have found our exit,” Giles walked up the stairs as far as he could, then pushed up, the doors thankfully having no lock on them. With a bit more effort, the cellar doors opened, and light streamed through, showing that they hadn’t been down there for that long, though it was probably longer than both of them would have liked. ”Becky, come along,” Giles urged her to hurry, ”We’ll want to be out of these woods before nightfall.”+++ TAGS: Becky WORD COUNT: 414 NOTES: Sorry about the wait. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Becky did very much believe in destiny, like Becky believes hers was to be born and find out about Supernatural and read all the books. That way she could help out Sam and Dean with there hunting work, she did find them and tell about were they could find the Michael sword. Which did very much help them in there quest, And if it wasn’t for Becky they never would have known how to find the colt again. Thanks to Becky reading the books she was able to tell them no problem. Plus if it wasn’t for the Supernatural books she never would have met her future husband that she loves more then life its self, she is very grateful for that. “Yeah I believe in Destiny very much so trust me, I have a been of a destiny myself.’ Becky said with a smile. Becky still followed Giles hoping to get out of this cave soon, all this talk and thinking about Supernatural got her wanting to see Chuck. She missed him and right now all she wanted to do was hold him tight and not let go, not in less she has to. It seemed as though Giles had found away out of the place. “All right Giles away out here that make me happy. All though I hope we can go on quests more often, I really like hanging with you Giles. You are my new best friend. I really hope we keep in touch’ Becky said with a sweet smile trying not to cry. Giles had told be to came along, trying to hurry. The last thing they needed was to get lost in the dark. “Don’t worry Giles I’m going as fast as can because I don’t want to be here till night fall ether. ”B-best friend?” Giles stammered a bit, though a bewildered smile crossed his face. A little embarrassed chuckle passed his lips and he hoped that he wasn’t beginning to blush. He felt no heat in his face, so he assumed he just looked flattered. It wasn’t embarrassing, per se, just unexpected to be regarded so highly by this fascinating young woman when they had just met. Although, it seemed that they had been through a lot already for the short amount of time that they had known each other. In any case, the paternal feeling to protect and cultivate, which Giles usually reserved for Buffy, Willow and many of the others belonging to the Slayer Organization, seemed to be welling up inside him for Becky. It was strange but actually Giles found it refreshing. Not knowing what else to say, he gave a breathy chuckle, ”Ah, thank you. I have grown quite fond of you as well.””Of course,” The watcher assured her with a nod that they would keep in touch. He wasn’t sure how, but he felt an ardent hope that they would, ”It would be my honor to attend your wedding… i-if you think I could,” Giles added. Not only would it be a wonderful way to see Becky again, but he had to admit that he had a morbid curiosity about Chuck Shurley and why he was writing those books. Also, those Winchester brothers might also be there and Giles could inquire if they did any freelance work, though Giles wondered if it would be in good taste to conduct a little business on the side at someone’s wedding. Well, at least he could introduce himself to them and gauge their skills. The roar of a car engine of some sort broke Giles free from his thoughts, his head turning towards the sound. Motioning for Becky to follow him, the man pushed his way past low hanging tree branches and brush until he could see a road just past the tree line. Giles gave sigh of relief and with only a little more trouble, arrived at the roadside. After a moment of analyzing his surrounding, the watcher said with fair certainty, ”This must be the highway that leads to the main street.”Giles got his compass bearing quickly enough from the setting sun and began heading back to where they had left their vehicles. As he walked, he thought he might want to make some kind of conversation, or at least perhaps he could ask another question that would let Becky talk for the duration of their walking. Giles finally settled on what he thought would be a perfect question, ”How exactly did you and your fiancée meet?” He supposed it could have been at a book signing or something similar, but Giles had a feeling that it was more complicated than that. He continued walking at a brisk pace as he listened, the main street coming into view sooner than he had expected. +++ TAGS: Becky WORD COUNT: 497 NOTES: Absolutely they’re besties!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Becky was so happy to hear that Giles had grown fond of her, it wasn’t that often ever that people say anything that nice to Becky. The sad part was she really has had a best friend, well there was that gold fish she had when she was a kid but the poor thing didn’t live long at all. Not really something she ever wants to remember. The nerdy blond walked up to Giles looking him straight in the eyes, she grabbed him unexpectedly giving him the worlds biggest hug. It wouldn’t be surprising if he was having trouble breathing she had him that tight. “Oh this makes me so happy knowing I finally have a best friend. We will be forever and ever!” She was even happy to hear that he would come to there wedding, when ever the hell that was going to be. For all they know they might just say forget it and go get hitched somewhere, that is when ever Chuck can even get the time for that. He was always so busy with his books it seems. “ Of course you can come, Chuck will be so happy the more the merrier. Giles that makes me happy that you will come, I will keep you posted on when it might be.” Becky said a big smile on her face. Giles then had asked Becky how she had met Chuck, and really this was a funny story that she was going to love to tell. “Well you see I have always been a big Supernatural fan, to the point I was always sending Chuck letters and things. You know I even sent him a whole made marzipan, that he loved. But anyway one day I was on my Supernatural blog site that I run and all the sudden he popped up on my lasptop. He was on a web cam telling me how much he needed my help, and ever since then we kept on touch. I ran into him at all of his conventions, to the point we realized that we needed to take our love further. And the rest is history” Word Count- 360 Tagged- Sarah Outfit- Click to see Becky's cute outfit!!Note- Yeah we could end it soon. This was fun we will have to have them post again some time for sure. After receiving another exuberant hug from Becky, Giles wondered if he really was the girl’s first best friend. How odd that would be, if an aging researcher was indeed the only good friend Becky had. He was sure that the young woman was exaggerating, but just in case she wasn’t, he endured the uncomfortably tight hug with a gentle smile on his face. He was also pleased when Becky inviting him to the wedding, although weddings had never truly been something Giles had enjoyed as a ritual in of themselves. It was going to be simply an interesting occasion, to be sure. ”Oh. Very intriguing,” Giles chuckled, though he felt his forehead was pressing down into his eyebrows with how much his brow was furrowed in confusion and hesitation. Although it didn’t sound like it was entirely a fan obsession that turned into a one sided romance, Giles wasn’t sure if it was all completely clear or if Becky had colored it. He supposed he would get a better sense once he had met Chuck at the wedding. The roads slowly turned into sidewalks and at no time at all, Giles had found his rental car. He threw his pack inside of it before turning to his new friend, ”Well, Becky. I think this is where we part ways for today. But, ah…” He retrieved the messenger bag back and fiddled with it until he found a business card, which had actually been Andrew’s idea, ”This is my card. That number is- is the one in Rome, so don’t call that one right now… and that’s my business email address, but I don’t check it that often,” Giles’ sentence trailed off as he dug around in the bag a bit before retrieving a pen. He scribbled the Boarding House number on the back of the card and handed it to Becky, ”If you need to contact me within the next three or four days, you should be able to find me there. A-and feel free to call at any time.”+++ TAGS: Becky WORD COUNT: 340 NOTES: ~
