Madison Mackenzey Saxon walked through the town. So much has happened in the past month or so that her life had just been turned upside down. The young ginger prophet was annoyed, angry and full of other emotions that she didn’t even know how to begin to describe. Her best friend was up in heaven, working with his brother for reasons that she doesn’t know and he wont answer her at all. She only knew that he had been working with Raphael for a reason, even though that reason is unclear.
The Prophet wanted to know more. She has been in touch with Dean Winchester, who had become good friends with her archangel Gabriel, and they both were trying to figure all of this out. Maddie still hasn’t met his brother Sam yet, but she had a feeling that she would soon enough.
Maddie continued to walk before she reached the movie theater. It wasn’t really what she had in mind for a night of wandering and thinking but she was here and this was it. Maddie had paid for a movie, just something that she wanted to see and she didn’t car if she saw it alone. Maddie walked inside, got herself some popcorn and a soda and she walked into the theater and she sat down in a chair in the back, at the top. Maddie took her bag off of her shoulder and put it on the ground. She let out a sigh. She really hoped that her demon father wouldn’t decide to attack her now. Gabriel was gone and she was left alone. It scared her to think of it that way.
Maddie pulled out her sketch book and started working on the drawing again, as the movie started playing. It was one of Buffy, the slayer who was almost amazing in every way, well at least Maddie though so. Buffy was just something else, something that Maddie had envied. She hadn’t met the slayer yet, but she had met Willow and Tara. Her phone was also beside her, on the arm rest and she kept the volume up so she could hear it if someone tried to call, someone like one of her cousins or Gabriel. She was glad she was alone in the theater, so that no one would get mad if she took the call.
Maddie then picked up the phone and dialled Gabriel’s number and waited. She listened to the phone ring and nothing. Straight in his voice mail. She hung up the phone and let out a sigh. She knew that Dean was probably doing the same thing, constantly calling him. She hung the phone up and she put it down. She went back to drawing again, not paying attention to what was around her, not even the movie.

The night was the time when Vampires roamed to take their unsuspecting victims. They crept down alleyways and lurked in bars. And Spike, being the dangerous vampire he was, was taking in a movie. Well, he had snuck in without paying, so he was still a little bad. He wasn’t exactly sure what this film was about. It was some comedy, or a drama or a romance flick of some kind. It might have been nominated for an Emmy or something. Spike didn’t really care. He had just got here and a nice dark theater was a good place to relax after a long travel. There wasn’t anyone else, either, which Spike also appreciated a little bit. It had been so popular that everyone saw it in the first two weeks and now no one cared anymore. He was alone in the top row, hunkered down at the top of the stairs rather than sitting in a seat. His eyes started slightly glazing over as the advertisements and trivia played through. He actually liked the trivia, but it was a bit easier to know what 1957 movie won best picture when you were there to see it win. Spike noticed a bit of movement and turned his head a bit to see a young redhead join him in the top row, taking the opposite staircase from the one he had. She had a bit of popcorn, a bit of soda. As the opening scene of the movie rolled, she took a sketchbook from her bag. No friends came to join her. Spike stifled a sigh. Back in the old days, pretty loner girls like this made a nice little light snack. A little charm, a little trust, and within a moment, they were practically begging to be bitten. Heck, there was no one around and any normal vampire would have attacked her then and there. But Spike wasn’t like that anymore. It wasn’t just his soul. He had been reformed by Buffy a couple years before that. The thought of biting a human just made his stomach feel like a little black pit of grief. He had drunk enough human blood in this lifetime, though he wasn’t apt to dwell on it for too long. Although, that did remind him that he should go find a butcher before he found a graveyard crypt to crash at. Although it was dark, someone pulling out a sketchbook instead of actually watching the movie that they probably paid for piqued Spike’s interest. What exactly was so important? There was a slight pathway behind the last row of seats, just enough for Spike to edge his way behind the girl. Between the surround sound and his natural sneakiness, she probably couldn’t hear him come up behind her. And what he did see in the sketchbook was a surprise to say the least. It was Buffy. There was no doubt about it, Spike knew that it was. A wave of confusion and protectiveness came over him. How exactly did this girl know Buffy? Why was she drawing Buffy? Drawing close enough, Spike put one finger on the sketchbook, tilting it to see it better in the light of the screen and leaned over her shoulder so he could see the girl’s face. Spike wanted to be polite, but his ire had been raised a bit and he probably sounded a bit hostile, “Good piece of work, Ginger. What sort of inspiration did you have to draw something like this?”+++ TAGS: Maddie! WORD COUNT: 584 NOTES: Spike is a nice vampire, really...

Madison Mackenzey Saxon continued to draw in her sketchbook, the softness of Buffy coming to life. She had never met the slayer before because the archangel that she knew all too well had told her not to get close, danger was his main concern, danger and the fact that they might not believe her but Willow seemed to, and thought it was cool. She wondered if it was because both of them were attacked by vampires and Maddie had Gabriel’s blade, which she still does in her bag. Dean had given it back to her. She felt safer knowing that it was with her. It was the only thing she had to protect herself with, and now that Gabriel was gone, and Dean being in and out it was the only thing.
Maddie looked up at the screen and wondered why the hell she paid to “see” a movie like this and even got popcorn. This wasn’t her style. She needed action, things blowing up and guns blazing. That was more her. As for the popcorn, well the ginger prophet wasn’t even hungry. Maddie let out s sigh and she looked at her phone. Still nothing. Not even anything from Dean.
Maddie didn’t even know anyone else was in the movie with her. She certainly didn’t hear blond man coming up behind her either. His voice and him placing the finger on her sketch book had startled her, nearly causing her to fall out of her seat, thanks to the paranoia she had. The paranoia the mostly protected her from demons, and her father. It made her cautious.
“holy shit.” Maddie said, trying to catch a breath.
She looked at the blond man and recognized him instantly. It was Spike, the vampire who was friends with Buffy Summers. She knew that he recognized her in the drawing, and that made this a little awkward. This was almost like the meeting with Willow. He had asked her what kind of inspiration would cause her to draw this. She would have to tell the truth anyway.
“my head, my dreams. I know her… sort of. Kind of like how I know you and Willow and everyone else.” Maddie paused a moment. “so much for staying away from you guys. First Willow and now you.” she then added, knowing that Gabriel wasn’t going to like this one bit, but he wasn’t here, he didn’t have a say in it anymore.

Spike had made her jump. He tried to hide his little smile of victory, but it was no use. A little smug grin played across his face. Well, he was also happy because her reaction was so typically human. In a cute way, of course. But her being human meant that it was less likely that she was an enemy. Or at least, she was an enemy that they didn’t have to worry about as much. The last human enemies Buffy had were those dorky wannabes and Spike had them scared stiff. Of course, from the way that she was talking, she could be a witch of some kind. Well, she seemed to give up information to Spike easily enough. That meant she either trusted him or was a little air-headed. Either was fine with Spike. ”Sorry to give you such a scare,” Spike chuckled, but cleared his throat, ”Ah, yeah. Sorry.””So, you know Buffy and Willow and you… know me? Through your dreams, eh?” The vampire raised an eyebrow, ”Haven’t heard that one before. Well, since you probably know my name, it’s only fair I should have yours.”Spike placed his hand on the back of the movie theater chair and used it to vault over the row so he could sit down next to the girl, ”So, by ‘know’, do you mean we have little chats in dreamland or that we’re shown like a movie?”It was probably the later, but both were an interesting idea. Generally, when one of the gang in Sunnydale had a dream, it was a vision of something to come. Buffy had plenty of those and the others as well, once every so often. But did seeing the past have a purpose? Was it some sort of message from the Powers That Be? Spike couldn’t say for sure, but it was intriguing. The girl admitted to having met Willow and having her stay away from Buffy and her little gang, which Spike supposed still included him, “Hmm. I’d guess if you’re having dreams about us that would mean something’s telling you to find us. If you met Red and now me, I’d say that’s a pattern. Putting two and two together, you get you plus the Slayerettes for some reason. So, the question is who’s exactly telling you not to see us?”Spike studied the girl up close a bit. She kind of reminded him of all the young slayer potentials. They never were really afraid of him despite him being a vampire, and it seemed like this girl wasn’t too afraid either. He liked being treated as a person rather than a monster. Sometimes people who knew him well enough couldn’t see him that way, even now. He had only died to save the world from primordial evil, but he was still the bad guy because he burnt in the sun? Well, maybe this girl knew that. Maybe she also knew about all the horrible things he had done. Maybe she knew all the things he had done with Buffy. Spike suddenly thought this wasn’t as exciting anymore as certainly awkward. ”And, uh, what exactly do you know about me?” Spike attempted to sound casual, but he let a bit of his concern slip through. It may have been an awkward question, but if she told him that he was a sexy vampire super hero, it may be worth it. +++ TAGS: Maddie! WORD COUNT: 569 NOTES: Awkward Spike is awkward.

Madison Mackenzey Saxon looked at Spike who was still behind her. He apologized and she shook her head. It wasn’t him, it was her. That was the only way she could explain it. She had always been jumpy, and every little thing would scare her. She just blamed the life that she lived. He then asked for her name.
“of course I know your name, but you prefer Spike right?” Maddie asked him, fully knowing that he does. “Madison Saxon, though my friends and cousins call me Maddie.” Maddie said to him with a small smile. She knew what the vampire was capable of, and she was very cautious over being around him, though after her dreams, she knew enough that he wouldn’t harm her.
Maddie looked at the man that had jumped over the seats and sat beside her. She just gave up on all of it. There was no use in hiding anything anymore and sooner or later she was going to meet Buffy whether Gabriel agreed with it or not. Sure, she knew the risks of it all but in a strange way it didn’t bother the paranoid prophet. Talking in dreamland or like a movie, Maddie laughed at that.
“I guess you could say that, it being like a movie. My dreams are really visions, so I get to see the stuff about Buffy that I am meant to see, sometimes more, depends on who sends the visions.” Maddie said.
Usually the angels that followed Raphael would send her visions on everything but occasionally she would get visions from the angel named Joshua, who was known for being crazy because he thinks that he still talks to God. Maddie didn’t judge that though. She believed that God was still out there and that he was talking to Joshua. If Gabriel believed it, then she did. Gabriel might not have the best judgment but she knew that she could trust him, which was why she should put the phone away, and she did. She would have to trust that him going with Raphael was the right thing for now and that he had something up his sleeve. He always did.
“no, it means that I am supposed to record what I see, to tell the future the story.” Maddie said looking at him. “and I met all of you on chance. I never set out to look for Willow or you. It just happened.” Maddie shrugged before sighing to his last question. “who? Well my friend is telling me to stay away, but he left. He isnt around anymore. Its all very complicated.” Maddie said to him with a sigh.
She didn’t know how he would react to the angels and demons, heaven and hell and everything else existing, plus she was friends with an archangel, the youngest one Gabriel, who was missing at the moment. Well, no he wasn’t missing. He was in heaven. She looked at him thought a moment. Again, there was no point in hiding anything at this point in time. Not since Willow had met her already.
What did she know about him? Oh certain stuff, things that she wondered if she should say.
“that you were a poet, turned by a vampire who became your lover, and loosing her, your encounters with Buffy, getting your soul back so now you’re, well you. I think you know the details Mr. Pratt…” Maddie smiled and gave a small laugh. “or I can say youre someone else, like Batman or something… ” Maddie laughed.
“how crazy do I look to you?” Maddie asked him, wondering if he would think she is insane for telling him everything she was about to tell him. “I will hold off if what I tell you is going to make you think I am fuckin’ insane.” Maddie said giving him a serious look.

”Yeah,” He affirmed that Spike was what he went by still. Very few called him William, which was nice. It drudged up bad memories, both in the past and more recent. He nodded as the girl introduced herself, “Hmm. Maddie. I like that better than Madison.””Hmm. Your prophet-ness is different from the prophets I’ve known. Usually when a prophet I’ve known gets a vision, it means get up off your lazy arse and do something to save the world. You get headaches?” Spike asked, curious. And he gave a slight nod when she said it was a friend who was telling her to stay away. If it was complicated, he wondered if that meant it was a romance or family matter or something. In any case, he didn’t feel like prying about that anymore. “Well, course you weren’t looking for us,” Spike cheekily helped himself to some of her popcorn, ”But that’s how it happens. Fate, I mean. Look at us. We just happen to be the only two people at this movie by coincidence? I’ve been a part of a prophecy or two myself, so I know what I’m talking about.”Oh. She knew a lot. More than he had expected, actually. She kept things simple and tasteful, which must have been hard to do, considering his rather tasteless life. Spike was a little grateful for her politeness, but he had a feeling she knew more details than she was letting on, ”Um, yeah. That’s about right. And Batman, that’s funny, ‘cause of the-” He made a vague sweeping gesture across his body, indicating that he was a vampire. The only vampires who ‘turned into animals’ were actually just using gypsy magic and not actually turning into something else at all. She probably didn’t know that though, and he didn’t need to explain. It was just one of those things that bugged him because it was a signature move of his old enemy Dracula. Because of that git, the whole entire world got a manual on how to dust a vamp. Maddie seemed a bit lost in thought for a moment, then asked him if she looked like a crazy person. That was always a quaint little question. She looked so serious, though. ”Not that crazy.” Spike answered her question somewhat glibly. He knew what crazy was and what crazy looked like. He had stood by Drusilla all those years, and she spoke in riddles and was an excellent poetic killer. Spike had been crazy himself, when tortured by an ancient evil, speaking to things that weren’t really there. Plus, a whole host of demons and vampires that he was acquaintances with who had moral standings that would probably put them in the insane category. In comparison to what he had seen, this girl was pretty normal. A little jumpier than the average human, but jumpiness was a good survival trait. ”Or rather anything you can tell me probably won’t make me think you’re crazy. Vampire, remember? You know, one of those things that supposedly doesn’t actually exist? Lay it on me, Ginger.”+++ TAG: Maddie WORD COUNT: 514 NOTES: ~

Madison Mackenzey Saxon had a small smile appear on her face. Spike said that he liked Maddie better than Madison. She never really thought about her name, what she thought of it. A name was a name. she really didn’t care, though Maddie was shorter and she liked calling people by shorter names.
What did he mean that her prophet-ness was different from the other prophets he has known? Was she not the first? Well then she didn’t need to worry about him thinking that she was crazy because he has been around ti before. She looked at him and she shook her head about getting off her lazy ass to go save the world. Maybe the prophets he has met were liars. She gave a small laugh.
“no, we arent really supposed to do that. What I’ve seen has already happened, or is happening or is going to happen in the next day, I don’t see the future or anything, well at least havent gotten anything in the way of visions in the distant future.” she said to him trying to think of the best way to explain it. She wondered if it was because of Gabriel, if she was friends with him, who at the time everyone thought he was a demigod, and now turning out to be an archangel. Maddie was just completely unsure over everything. She looked at him once more and observed. that’s what she did. She could read body language which was why Maddie didn’t really like talking to other people. Gabriel always got annoyed when she did it to him, and Dean seemed to think it was just a little awkward.
He then mentioned the headaches. They were the headaches from hell. Just the plain word headaches was an understatement for how bad these were. Maddie nodded. “they are the worst. At least I now know why. it’s the images of the visions, burning the brain thanks to the angels.” Maddie said, with a sigh.
Maddie watched him take some of her popcorn and she just shrugged it off. She really didn’t care since she wasn’t really eating it herself. He then started talking about fate and about prophecy. She sort of lost him in that conversation. So he expected something like this to happen? Well Maddie figured it would happen sooner or later, if that counted.
Maddie laughed at his gesture. That wasn’t really what she meant at all. She just knew that they had a lot in common, personality wise. Maddie would know that too. She was such a comic nerd. She stopped laughing and shook her head. “no I just meant that you and Bruce Wayne have things in common, personality wise, that’s all.” Maddie still smiled wondering if he would believe her. “sorry, I’m kind of a comic nerd slash geek…” Maddie laughed a little, now taking a sip from her soda.
He reminded her that he was a vampire and she shook her head. Right, though sometimes things like this is a touchy subject.
“yeah but this is really different.” Maddie said with a small sigh.
She thought a moment. How could she word all of this delicately? She didn’t want to come off as crazy, though she knows several things that may just make her out that way.
“as I said earlier, I along with other prophets who are like me get our visions from the angels, and yes I do mean heavenly douche bags in togas. Each prophet is protected by an archangel, though mine was locked away in the cage in hell with Lucifer so technically I really don’t have one anymore.” Maddie paused a moment. “like I had him from the start… anyway as a prophet, I am supposed to record visions, like-” Maddie paused and opened to the sketch book page of a picture of Spike tied to a chair at a table with everyone else. “that was actually kind of amusing.” Maddie laughed at him. “so with the visions that are recorded, I guess the angels use them to tell stories or something. I don’t really know what its for just that I am supposed to do it.” Maddie finished wonder\ing what he is going to say to all that.
Maddie felt her side hurting a little. She hated that it hasn’t fully healed yet and all that is there in the stomach area and side is muscle so it hurts even worse. Maddie hoped that she didn’t really show that it hurt in her face. What hurt more than that was that Gabriel actually went with Raphael, and didn’t say anything more but to trust him.
“and my friend, the one I mentioned before, is really the youngest archangel Gabriel. it’s a long story, just everthing that has happened in the last few weeks. Not that he doesn’t trust you guys, or me when it comes to us meeting, there is just a lot more to my story and to my life than anyone knows. Like I said, its long and complicated.” Maddie said to reassure him a little, knowing that he was curious. She wouldn’t mind telling him either, if he asked. She didn’t want to make him sit through a story he wasn’t interested in.

”Oh, is that so? Be nicer if I was like him money-wise too,” Spike wasn’t all that up on comic books, but he was being compared to a superhero, like he wanted, so that was nice. Although he thought Batman was the dark, brooding one. That sounded more like Angel than him. She mentioned that it was different. Spike nodded. Considering how serious she was, he didn’t think it would be wise to crack a joke again and potentially hurt her feelings. Besides, this conversation had two nice points. He was having a good time just having a conversation with no alcohol or drama involved. It was something that rarely seemed to happen to him. Second reason was that this nice young lady was giving him information. Lots of it and pretty willingly too. Not that he was just using her to gather intel, the conversation was nice and so was Maddie. But knowing new things often led to what was going down in a town before you wound up being in the thick of a battle or something. In any case, Spike listened very intently as she explained her prophetic powers. She even showed him a picture of a vision that she had about him. ”Didn’t feel amusing at the time. Spike muttered, knowing exactly what Maddie’s drawing depicted, ”Wasn’t exactly a four star experience being chained in a bathtub with a sippy cup of blood.” But he had to admit, it was nice to be somewhat waited on. All he had to do back in those days was drink pig’s blood and watch soap operas. He could think of worse lives to lead. ”So you don’t know what they’re for,” He repeated her words, taking a closer look at the picture and gave a small grin all the familiar faces. They looked younger. The Slayerettes probably weren’t even twenty back then. Spike gave a little sigh, then looked back up at Maddie with a questioning tone in his voice, ”but you do it anyway?””and the visions are sent by angels, huh? Hmm. Never met one of those before. Didn’t think they really existed,” Spike wondered. Well, he thought he had once heard from Fred that some of the PTBs that he had met were guys in togas, but something was off. The ‘angels’ and other things that Maddie was describing were definitely biblical. Some religious knowledge stuck from his days as a human. Spike thought that angels, the kind with wings and halos that is, weren’t actually real, but he had been to Hell. At least a Hell of some kind, so he knew at least part of Maddie was talking about was true. And he was willing to trust her in order to know more, “But you’re not crazy at all. I believe you.” ”I think I’m starting to get an idea of why your friend doesn’t want you to meet us, though. Something is,” Spike paused, ”strange here. Two types of visions, two purposes. The powers and your angels both giving them out.”Spike gave his temple a little rub. Were the Powers-That-Be really these so-called angels? Or maybe just a different section of the Powers was the angels. Or then again, maybe part of the angels was the Powers. The technique of sending the visions seemed to be nearly identical, so it wasn’t a stretch to think the two were connected somehow. Although as far as Spike knew, the seers he had met before never had archangels protecting them. Well, even if they weren’t the same organization, they had to know about each other. You couldn’t be an ancient power from the beginning of the world and not realize another ultimate power exactly like you was out there. When she mentioned Gabriel, that synched it, at least for the ties to religion. There had to be something more here, and Spike wanted to know, ”Well, if you’re willing to tell, I’ll listen,” Spike shrugged, ”Sounds like it’s a good story.”+++ TAGS: Maddie WORD COUNT: 665 NOTES: ~

-----------------------------------------------------------------
Madison Mackenzey Saxon laughed at Spike’s statement about being like batman money wise. She really didn’t have to wonder about that, coming from the family that she came from. Sure, they weren’t Bruce Wayne Rich, but the four of them were well off, thanks to their parents, well all of their’s except Maddie’s. her mom was well, did very well but her father not so much. Shows why he went to hell and everything.
Maddie believed she was better off with out him, with out ever knowing that he existed. It felt like that when he was in prison and when he was dead. She just wished that he never came back. He did, except he was different, he was a demon. A demon set to kill.
Maddie laughed at Spike’s statement about him not feeling amused when he was tied to the chair. She then felt bad for him that it happened but it had to. It had to because then he wouldn’t be here with her right now, talking and what not. He made it seem so bad when she didn’t think that it couldn’t have been as bad as the jam she was in now, or has been in since she was 15.
“maybe it wasn’t amusing, but you deserved it, though I really don’t blame you for anything that really happened anyway…” Maddie simply shrugged, remembering what little she could. She wondered if he would ask her about it. Maddie would just simply tell him the truth, about how she believed that people arent all bad, even when they don’t have a soul, and she had seen what it was like first hand when someone doesn’t have a soul.
Maddie nodded. It was her job that was all she knew. That and with the visions she was able to help Gabriel do what ever it is that he does and much more.
“yeah I guess that is just a way to make me sound a little dumb huh?” Maddie asked him with a small laugh. She believed it. She did something she didn’t know what it would be used for, but she knew that it would serve some bigger purpose later in life. “I think its meant to tell her story, which includes yours and everyone else’s.” Maddie shrugged.
Maddie listened to him basically think out loud. She nodded and waited for him to stop. “I’m sure you have met an angel. They are everywhere, just hidden, I know I have met a fair share, which of course wasn’t always a good thing.” she believed this because well, being her in her situation with Gabriel in heaven with his older brother and Dean it was just not a good thing to be followed by other angels, whether they followed Raphael or Castiel.
Spike then said that she wasn’t crazy. She smiled at that. Maddie was glad that she finally found someone who didn’t think she was as crazy as she thought she was. Well she shouldn’t give him much credit because he is a vampire.
Maddie then listened to him. She had heard of the powers that be but she didn’t think they were as powerful as the archangels, God and Death. Hell, God and Death, both together and apart were the most powerful out there. Maddie started thinking and she then looked up at Spike with a curious look on her face. “two purposes? What’s the purpose that the powers that be have?” Maddie asked him tilting her head to the side.
Spike then asked her to tell him her story. She was confused by this, usually no one really cared to ask, but she would tell anyway since he did.
“okay, if you really want to hear it.” Maddie shrugged, and then added “but you have to tell me yours then. I only know bits and pieces… and if I get boring let me know.” Maddie smiled to him.
“my mum died when I was 5, in a car accident that my father caused because he was drunk. I was in the car too, my mum’s car. My father was sent to prison, and me to my aunt and uncles in California. I have lived with my older cousins for the longest time, still do, and I learned a lot honestly, like playing piano and I am a black belt in Tae Kwon Do. I started getting the visions and headaches when I was fifteen, the same year I learned my father died in prison, good riddance to him… sort of. About a few years later I my aunt and uncle were murdered, who ever killed them wasn’t caught.” Maddie paused a moment thinking of what to say next. “got my first tattoo when I was 18. Maddie laughed a little, still feeling the pain from her side. at my graduation, I saw him, he was there but he was dead, there was something off about him and when he tried to talk to me, a flash of white light came out of nowhere and my father fled in fear. Later, I learned that the white light was Gabriel, filling in for his older brother Michael because Michael is a dick and doesn’t care. Like I said, they are all douche bags with wings.” Maddie gave a light shrug. “I didn’t learn that it was Gabriel until I started college, and we became good friends. He moved us out here from Sacramento because of my father trying to kill me.”
Maddie looked at Spike to see if her story made any sense to him. It was a terrible one but out of the bads, she loved the goods, like her cousins being there for her, Dean being there for her, Gabriel, everyone she knew. She also loved that her older cousin Billy was going to get married pretty soon and to welcome a new person into their “circle” was going to be a good thing.
“and lately I believe that he may just succeed in killing me. A few weeks ago, Raphael, one of Gabriel’s older brothers, and a demon named Ruby had kidnapped me so that Gabriel would fight in Raphael and Castiel’s stupid war and I think it actually worked. Right now, Gabriel is in heaven with his brother, and I have no fuckin’ clue of what to do next. Me, or Dean Winchester, one of Gabriel’s friends. We both don’t know what to do.” Maddie said letting out a sigh rubbing where she was stabbed though that probably wasn’t a good thing at the moment.
Maddie then looked at Spike and smiled. “is your life as messed up as mine is?” Maddie just chuckled a little. In the end, when she thinks about it she is still grateful for the friends she has and everything that had happened had always led to a good thing, in her opinion anyway.

”They are important stories,” Spike gave a little nod of his head. In those many years from now, when new Slayers didn’t know who Buffy Summers was, they should be able to read about her. There was no doubt in Spike’s mind that she would be the most important Slayer who ever lived. ”Like I said, the Powers send the visions to show the ‘Champions’ or ‘Warriors’ or whatever they want to call you that day trouble they have to deal with. Something happening at the same time or soon. And they seem to send them to whomever they please, mostly a prophet, but sometimes more directly,” The blonde vampire explained, ”I don’t know much about it as others do. Never met with any of the Powers. But you’re saying that your visions are for recording, versus the ones that I’ve known. So there must be two kinds of prophets. Or something like that.”Spike was surprised to learn that Angels were everywhere. That did sound a bit crazy. But he listened to her talk about her life, which did seem rather intense for her young amount of years. “So, your dad’s trying to kill you from beyond the grave and the Angels using you as some kind of pawn to manipulate this Gabriel guy.” Spike summed up, ”Both the Powers and Angels are rotten bastards, seems like.”He felt a little sorry for her not knowing what to do next. He had felt like that a little while ago. Hell, Spike still felt like that now. Even if he met with Buffy and the others, he didn’t really expect to be welcomed with open arms and three cheers. He was kind of their strange little liaison into the world of scum and villainy. And he really wasn’t welcome in the world of scum and villainy anymore either. ”Well, I can’t say.” Spike said after thinking about if his life was as messed up as hers. Hers was shorter, that’s for sure. It sounded like he had seen more people die and had killed people where she hadn’t hurt anyone at all, but then again, he had more time to see all that happen. Well, she had asked for his story in return. After a little purse of his lips, Spike began. ”My father died when I was young, so not much sadness there. I was a poet, but something of an outcast. Didn’t really have much in the way of chums or sweethearts or anything. I turned my mother just after I turned, but… I had to stake her,” Spike paused for a moment. Memories weren’t exactly the most fun thing for Spike most of the time. He cocked his head and looked to the ceiling and continued, ”After that, I became a violent little bugger. One of the scourges of Europe. Killed lots of people. But I still felt things. I loved Dru so much. But she left me. Got a chip in my head that basically neutered my ability to kill. Fell in love with Buffy. And she left me. Got a soul, so then the chip was kind of a moot point. Died in a big fiery explosion, got brought back as a ghost, and then I got a body again.””Guess I’ll leave it up to you whether you think that’s more messed up or not,” Spike shrugged. In his mind, it wasn’t the life that was messed up, it was him. It just seemed that he was too good to be completely evil even without a soul, and now that he had a soul, he was still no knight in shining armor. Maddie had said that she hadn’t blamed him for things, but Spike wasn’t so sure about that. He had a lot of things to repent for. ”Well, that was cathartic,” Spike stood in a hurry and stretched his arms out above his head, “Not the typical topics I chat up a girl with, but it was alright. ” He began to walk away and made it out of the row of chairs to the stairs landing, "I feel like heading off now, so I suppose this is goodbye."He paused, then turned with an inviting little grin, ”’Less you want to follow me? This movie is as dull as a bloody church service.”+++ TAGS: Maddie! WORD COUNT: 721 NOTES: I'm not sure exactly where they'll go, but I guess Spike got bored :3

When he agreed with her, Madison smiled. She wondered why though. She wondered why she had to do all of this for beings she really didn’t care about. She hated the angels, mostly Raphael for what happened, and she hated Gabriel at the moment because he went off with Raphael.
Maddie listened to Spike talk about the Powers that Be. She only heard of them through Buffy, though there really wasn’t much information. Could they be angels too? Probably not. They seem to be about as powerful as the Archangels and if they were, Gabriel would have mentioned them. Maybe they were like the horsemen, on a less powerful level. Gabriel had told her about them too. She shrugged about there being two kinds of prophets. It made sense. She did her work for heaven and it seemed that the other prophets just do it for the powers. Maddie would never know, not unless Gabriel knew anything about them.
Maddie didn’t really put a lot of faith in Gabriel when it came to information like that. He said that most of the time it was God doing it all and they knew nothing, or it was Michael and Lucifer that only knew and Raphael and Gabriel would be left in the dark. She knew why. They were the youngest and knowing Gabriel, he was a little immature, like an oversized two year old. He acted like it all the time. She just had to remember he was sort of like her, the baby of the family.
Maddie looked at Spike. She smiled. It was true. She could point out most of the angels that she ran into on a daily basis. She knew how to recognize it, since Gabriel had shown her most of the signs, if not all of them, just in case. Like he trusted any of his siblings anyway. He told her that they would protect her if she needed it and he wasn’t around. That was a load of crap since he was now gone with the one angel that tried to kill her. Maddie wasn’t really worried about meeting Raphael or his followers again. She was worried about Ruby, since Ruby had a nasty bone to pick with Gabriel, Ruby and her father.
Spike snapped her out of her thoughts and she listened to him. He seemed to understand. “doesn’t it sound messed up? The angels part, not so much my dad being a demon.” Maddie shook her head. It was all complicated and Maddie didn’t really want to understand. What she wanted the most was to be left alone for the rest of her life and not have to worry about any of this crap that was going on with Heaven and with Heaven and Hell.
She laughed at his comment about angels being rotten bastards. “you don’t even know the half of it.” Maddie smiled, realizing that it might not be as bad as it seemed. She had Dean to help her, Dean wasn’t afraid to stand up to Raphael.
Maddie listened to his story. She knew that he had loved Dru and became a vampire and everything but he didn’t know about his mother being a vampire, and his father dying. She only saw certain things. She felt for him, him having to kill his own mother, though she wondered if he could have felt anything at the time. She would never understand what it was like being a vampire.
“I think it might be a tie.” Maddie smiled to him. She watched him stand up and listened to him speak again. “I’m not really a typical girl.” Maddie shrugged. “and I don’t go around telling people about my life either.” she added.
Maddie stood up and took his invitation. She quickly threw her sketchbook into her bag and she started walking with him. She couldn’t really think of anything to say to him. It was that weird awkward silence thing after saying what they did, sharing their past.
“this is a little weird. I’m not really that sociable. I usually just stay away from everyone. Must be my paranoia.” Maddie said honestly.

Considering that his experience with angels came out of Sunday school a hundred and fifty years back, Spike had to agree that the angels she described was not the typical rosy-cheeked cherub sent on Christmas cards. Rather, it sounded like if he met any of these Archangel blokes, he would make new enemies really quickly. He chuckled when she said it was a tie between them. She followed him, which Spike was a little surprised at. And then they didn’t say anything. Spike didn’t really feel uncomfortable, but he could pick up a certain kind of tension from Maddie. She soon explained that, saying she wasn’t used to being around people. ”Well, with people trying to kill you, I guess paranoia is sort of granted,” Spike gave something of a glum smirk, “But you aren’t staying away from me. Kind of flattering.”It was interesting how Maddie trusted him. True, she seemed to know a lot about him, but Spike couldn’t trust a person who could take him out easily, even if he knew everything about them. Well, there were exceptions to this, but still, he thought that the young prophet was being a touch careless. Not that he was going to do anything, but if he happened to be a baddie, the girl seemed rather defenseless for someone with a killer after them. Spike supposed that’s one of the reasons why he had asked her to stick around. He wasn’t exactly lying when he said that their talk so far had been good for him. ”I don’t typically tell my life story either,” Spike said as he exited the theater, his eyes squinting as he adjusted to the brighter hallway, ”But a stranger is less likely to judge you than a friend at times.”Maddie herself was kind of proof of that. He hadn’t told any of the Sunnydale gang that he had killed his mother. Spike supposed it was just easier to tell the prophet because there wasn’t any chance of it being brought up again. Any circumstances that they could meet in next probably didn’t require a review of each other’s biography. Spike looked around for a back exit and was rewarded with one at the end of the hall. It led outside to a little sidewalk area that Spike assumed eventually curved around to the main street. It was somewhat narrow and lined with shrubs, short lantern shaped street lights and concrete. Too nice to be an alley, but private and outdoors. “ So, did your run from Dad get you here or is this home? ” Spike said shuffling through his pockets. He brought out his carton of cigarettes and noted he only had a few left. He had been smoking more than normal lately. Spike supposed it must have been stress-related. In any case, he tilted one out of the case and held it in his mouth while looking for his lighter, ”From what I’ve heard, you might be better off elsewhere.”Spike lit his cigarette and inhaled, the smoke warming his chest a touch. Normally he wasn’t so chatty when he smoked, but since the girl was still here, he thought he’d continue the conversation, ”So, how exactly do you know when you’ve met an angel? PTBs never really come down here, so it kind of strikes me funny that your angels do. Don’t think the PTBs ever fought a war, either. This a civil war or some holy vendetta ‘gainst some Big Bad?”+++ TAGS: Maddie! WORD COUNT: 581 NOTES: Spike has a smoking problem.

Maddie agreed with him on his statement about staying away from people because of her paranoia. She merely shrugged. It really didn’t stop her much when she met Willow or anyone else that she may have run into here in Richmond. She looked at him and smiled. “If you wanted to hurt me you would have done so already.” Maddie replied, eyeing the taller blond vampire.
Maddie wondered if he really wanted her around him. She was weird, and she knew it. Though he wasn’t perfect himself. He just seemed like a lonely person in her dreams. She just hoped that she could be a friend to him, even if Gabriel had a bone to pick. Probably not though. He didn’t really seem to care in the end. He usually didn’t mind what she did as long as she doesn’t go and get herself killed. That was sometimes hard for the prophet. She always got herself into trouble, even when she wasn’t looking for it.
She agreed with him on his statement about a stranger being less likely to judge. She really didn’t judge anyone and she wondered what the Scooby gang would say after hearing his story. She honestly couldn’t know what they would think at all. She continued to walk with him and they walked into an alley.
“sort of. My older cousin got a job here and then his sister did and now me and their other sister are at school. Gabriel did bring us here though if that’s what your asking.” Maddie shrugged, before saying “but he does know I’m here, or if he didn’t before, he does now. I think he knew though because I thought I saw him a month or so ago.”
Maddie looked at him and thought for a moment. Maybe she would be better off somewhere else, but this was their home now and she knew that they wouldn’t want to move away. “maybe, but we cant leave now. Too much going on.” Maddie replied. Her older cousin wouldn’t want to move away anyway, since he was getting married soon.
“they do to keep an eye out on things, help people like they should be doing, and not starting civil wars like they have. Recognizing them? Well that’s harder to do. They act different, look different feel different to me. Sometimes their choice of words can throw you off too.” Maddie said not really being able to describe it. The only thing she could do was show him in person. “no the civil war was started by the Archangel Raphael and a soldier angel Castiel for control over heaven. Gabriel says that Raphael wants to keep the natural order and Castiel wants free will. I can see both sides to it, but like Gabriel, I just stay out of it. I know more than I should anyway.” Maddie said now really thinking about it.
“you really want to see an angel?” Maddie asked him curiously, ready to pull him over to the road and look at the people that were around to see if she could pick one out.

”Yeah, but you know that I won’t,” Spike smirked as he referred to not hurting her. Actually, that’s probably why that had been talking for this long and this casually. Well, Spike never was formal under most circumstances, but for a girl who said herself that she wasn’t that sociable, she seemed to be holding her own in the conversation. Then again, Maddie knew him, more or less, without even having to meet him, and Spike found that intriguing. She somehow trusted him and Spike liked that. He wasn’t really accustomed to getting that from many people, those who were close to him and strangers alike. So she had some family left. That was good. Although, as Spike recalled, having family that you were close to generally involved bad things happening to said family. When was the last time he had heard any of the Slayerettes talk about their parents or other family? It was pretty natural for Spike not to think about anyone from his past, for obvious reasons, but it seemed like Maddie had already lost so many people and it was admirable that she still had connections. And it seemed like their life there had a firm hold. Well, hopefully nothing bad would happen to the girl’s family. It was funny that having a soul made Spike think of those kind of things now. The other thing was, the more she talked about this Gabriel guy, the more Spike didn’t know what to think of him. At first, Spike thought the guy was a bit dodgy for leaving the girl he was supposed to protect behind, but it also sounded like he had no choice. But when Maddie mentioned that he might have checked up on her, but stayed out of sight, that really annoyed him for some reason, “So he might be around, but he’s not talking to you?”Though it didn’t really show, Spike was still a bit narked about Gabriel’s behavior, though it sounded like he was the least offensive of the Archangels. Why was that? Spike thought a moment then realized that was what Angel did to Buffy sometimes, which drove her crazy. There must have been some emotional displacement there. Spike really hoped there was no angels out there that acted or looked like the vampire called Angel. ”Natural order and free will for who, the angels?” Spike did vaguely recall that angels were really only the tool of God rather than being their own person. ”And now I know more than I should. Wonder what God would think of an abomination that was in on his minions’ little spat? ‘Course, a war would explain why the bloke’s busy all time.“”I suppose. Why not?” Spike consented with a tilt of his head. He wanted to see if he could tell the differences in an angel once he was shown. Spike stamped out his cigarette before looking back at Maddie, ”It’s always nice to separate the truth from fiction. I should know. Lead the way.”+++ TAG: Maddie! WORD COUNT: 503 NOTES: Hmm. Maddie smiled and nodded. Spike had a soul now and Maddie knew that he wouldn’t. it was because her visions had shown her otherwise, and she knew that the angels then had no reason to implant fake information, then. Now, that was a different story. Since she is good friends with Gabriel, the angels had a reason to.
Maddie looked at Spike and she shrugged. “I don’t know. Honestly I don’t. I don’t think he would be though. You should have seen Raphael that day that he got Gabriel to “join” him.” Maddie said putting air quotes around join. She knew that Gabriel was only there for two reasons and she and Dean were it. She wondered what Spike thought about him. He seemed to not really like him, and he hadn’t even met him. Gabriel is an ass in his own way but she knew he meant well. “wouldn’t you do the same?” Maddie asked wondering if she was wrong. She then laughed a little. She almost forgot that he wasn’t human. “sorry, forgot.” she thought that sounded stupid, but she really didn’t care that he was a vampire. He seemed perfectly human to her.
Maddie nodded to his question and she then listened to the rest of his statement about God. She merely shrugged. “Natural order, angels obey. That’s what the Archangel Raphael wants. He is the third oldest, and then free will is what Castiel wants, which means angels can do what ever they want. That thought is a little scary, knowing how powerful they are.” Maddie said, explaining it a little further. “God isnt around. He disappeared. Gabriel believes he is still alive because he brought him back to life. I think he is living among the humans some where.” Maddie added.
Maddie smiled when he said that he wanted to see an angel. She grabbed his hand and she pulled him to the sidewalk and she looked around at some of the people. She noticed one and stared. “okay right there. Watch carefully. Apparently that one hasn’t been here much. See how awkward they are acting? Gabriel also said that some like to disguise themselves as church people, like a clergy man or something.” Maddie shrugged.
She looked around some more and recognized one, vaguely. She just stared at him, her eyes narrowing.
