============================================ Irony. Stefan had come to learn that it was everywhere, surrounding you in ways that you wouldn't have been able to guess. You would think that after the history Mystic Falls has gone through that the school officials could have picked a better mascot. Though maybe that's why they had chosen a wolf, a protector against vampires that the town had once been filled with. Not that it was a regular timber wolf the vampires were afraid of. It was the more paranormal run that the vampires did their best in staying away from. Unless, of course, you were back in your home town and it just so happened that werewolves were there. Then you couldn't help yourself but stick around. Maybe it was just vampires being stubborn, not wanting to give up where they had come from. Or it could have been that they didn't like the fact that there was a player that could kill them living in their town.
A small smile on his face, Stefan walked the halls slowly, almost like he was taking some leisure time. He glanced around at some of the students, none of them really paying any attention to him. This only made him smile more as he thought of how easy it would be to get them to focus in on him. It would only take one broken neck, one quick bite, just one dead body and everybody would suddenly be zeroed in on Stefan. Or, actually, they'd probably be screaming and running around like panicked rabbits. That thought made him shudder in a bit of sick, twisted pleasure. Just the idea of having some blood on his hands made him hungry for it. Being around humans all day really tested his ability to control himself. Luckily he had become very good at that, and he knew it was with Elena's help previously. He didn't want to think of that however. Elena being a reason for his good behavior wasn't something he was readily willing to boast about.
Class was going to be starting soon, and Stefan was sort of looking forward to it. Every time he'd act as if he wasn't paying attention, and then the teacher would get all annoyed and ask him something. He'd answer, of course, not because he was paying attention to what they were saying so much as... well he already knew it. When you had gone through it all as much as Stefan had (damn Lexi and her "rehabilitation" shit) then you had come to learn all there was to learn in high school. It was the small pleasures like looking at the annoyed face of a teacher who thought they had caught you, only to find that they didn't have you. Those were what got Stefan through the monotonous days in Mystic Falls. If only there was something else to help him along... well... during the day anyways. When the night came, he could take fun in stalking some prey.

Okay, so for once in the past few months, all Sarah really wanted was just a completely normal day. Well, normal by her standards, at least. She didn't want one of those absolutely searing visions that made her want to do nothing but tear out her hair and drown herself in pain medication, or have to deal wit all of the images that would haunt her mind for the rest of the day, or think about any of the ones that had come somewhat recently. She wanted them as far off of her mind as possible, and while she knew that was going to be basically impossible, it was still something that she was going to crave no matter what. They sucked, and they were always going to suck, and she definitely didn't think that she deserved to have to go through all of that pain and see all of those haunting things, and be able to do virtually nothing about them, because she was just human, really. It wasn't like she could have tried to stop them or anything.
But really, why her? Like, what the hell was she supposed to do about everything that she saw? Sarah was no outstanding citizen by any manners - she was a teenage girl, and yeah, she was bound to be selfish because of that. There wasn't anything huge about her that set her apart from the average girl - except maybe that she was really, really flexible and had always had a talent for cheer. But even that wasn't extraordinarily unique. Maybe here, a bit, because it was a small town and most of the girls here definitely were not the best and she'd been able to do some of that stuff since she was, like, nine, but there were always people like Maddie Gardner and Erica and well, she wasn't a celebrity or anything. She was just completely average with not so average, precognitive things going on in her head. Those things that she didn't understand whatsoever and didn't even want to try and understand.
So yeah, it made complete sense that for once in her life she just wanted to be normal and didn't have to worry about some of those things. Sarah self-consciously twisted at the bracelet around her wrist, just not wanting to think about it at all. It was just too much to consider and, well, she just didn't want to. Pretty simple. She'd actually probably focus in class or something to that extent despite how boring it was, and that well, school wasn't something that she cared about too much, even if it was going to be important and everything later on in life. The thoughts were a somewhat sufficient distraction, though, apparently, considering that she managed to bump into someone. "Oh god, I'm so sorry," The words came out quickly, a bit vacuously as well. Yeah, apparently she was good with distracting herself.

============================================ Nothing annoyed Stefan more than some random person touching him, whether it be on accident or on purpose. At least now that was something that really annoyed him. Before, it wouldn't have bothered him too much, but since he had gotten his humanity taken away... well it didn't take much to make him mad. So when the girl, Sarah if Stefan remembered correctly, bumped into him, he immediately wanted to snap her neck. But he contained himself and simply glared at her as she made her pathetic apology. Like that really made some kind of a difference for her complete lack of grace and total ineptitude at keeping in her own bubble. "You should really watch where you're going," he said to her in a cold voice, flat and careless. Then an idea flickered in his mind and he gave her a smile, cranking his charm to full volume. "I'm sorry, you were obviously just distracted."
Taking a quick glance around, Stefan smirked at the lack of people paying any attention to them. Looking back at Sarah, he leaned in a little closer, putting on an apologetic face. "I feel like a real jerk for snapping at you like that... do you think there's any way I could make it up to you? Maybe... take you out tonight or something?" Yes, that sounded like such a nice idea to Stefan... taking her out for a bite to eat. As in, taking her out somewhere... and biting her. She looked like she would make a hell of a meal too... maybe he should save some for Damon. No doubt his brother would appreciate the gesture... or take it completely wrong and think he was a freak. But weren't they? At least in the eyes of all of the humans they were freaks, monsters, and disgusting beings that went against nature. Stefan was okay with that.

Sarah had always been basically on the graceful side of things - you couldn't exactly do a back flip or be a point flier if you were just going to fall over randomly. She just had a really, really bad habit of not paying attention to her surroundings and getting lost in her own little world. Considering that most of the time her head was in pain (and she couldn't thank anyone enough that it wasn't today), it was a pretty reasonable thing, because yeah, your head feeling like it was getting beat it with a baseball bat was pretty damn distracting. But it wasn't today - so she didn't have so much of an excuse other than she happened to be exceptionally distracted by the lack of it. Which you know, was probably pretty sad and twisted in some way, but she could not have been more relieved. Whenever she could get a break from the pain, she would take it, almost always.
And well, when the distraction happened to include a pretty cute guy, that just made it better. Though his snappiness initially did surprise her, evident by the small crease forming between her eyebrows. He seemed to recover quickly, though, which you know, she was okay with. He seemed like mister tall, dark, and handsome - even if he really wasn't that dark looking, and well, everyone was tall next to her little five foot stature, since she almost always wore flats, too. The suggestion of making it up to her made her cheeks flush lightly and she smiled slightly, biting down on her bottom lip and shifting her weight. "That's a bit much," She commented, sliding her fingers into front pocket of her jeans, though she gave a small shrug only moments later. "But okay," So, agreeing to that with someone she hardly knew probably wasn't the best idea - but it was a small town, and everyone knew everyone, and she was almost positive he was Stefan Salvatore, so there couldn't have been too much harm in that. Besides, he was a cute, and she was a girl. Duh, easy logic.

============================================ If Stefan had known how easy it would be to score a date with a pretty girl in this school, he would have done it sooner. Oh how much that would piss Elena off to hear about that... knowing very well that Stefan had nothing good in mind of course. And she really wouldn't be able to do much about it, other than try to tell the girl something to make her not want to keep the plans. But if she did that... well then Stefan would just have to do something else to put Elena in her place. She was already close enough as it was to getting something done that wasn't quite so pleasant. The last thing she needed to do was get in the way of his plans to have a bit of fun. Klaus wouldn't be very pleased if Stefan had to tell him that Elena was making things impossible for him. And he really wouldn't mind telling the Original Vampire that Elena needed a little bit of punishing.
Continuing to smile at Sarah, Stefan nodded, acting like he was quite pleased with her acceptance. "Good, then I'll see you tonight... and throughout today too if I have my way." He hoped to flatter her into a pile of good, which would make things tonight so much easier. If she was completely taken away by his charms, then he could shatter her world entirely but transforming into a monster unlike anything she had dreamed of. And then the fun would really begin. "So how about I walk you to class? I could make sure that you get there without bumping into somebody else and taking you away from me. After all, there are bound to be other guys in the school who would just love to have a girl like you falling over them." Laying it on really thick, Stefan could just feel that he was going to have one hell of a night later.
Walking alongside her, Stefan immediately jumped into getting to her know her. If there was going to be anything odd to happen, then he'd like to know that sooner rather than later. "So I know that I've been here long enough to know the general information about most people. But I'm afraid I don't know anything about you, Sarah, other than your name. And that you live around here obviously. Yet even there, I don't really know the specifics." He grinned, knowing full well that he was insinuating he wnated to know where she lived. Because frankly, he did want to know where she lived, so that he could go to her house if need be. Like if Elena stepped in. Nosy little bitch that she was.

Being ignorant to everything that was going on in the town, or at least all of the preternatural aspects of it, was both a blessing and a curse. Needless to say, it would have been nice to realize that she wasn't completely crazy and naturally be aware of all of the dangers that she was getting herself into, but, it saved her a lot of mental processing. Sarah was close minded, she knew that and was okay with it. She didn't want to change it, because she liked everything that she believed it, and she simply thought that she could get on with life perfectly fine without having to change her beliefs. She was completely ignorant to it all, even what she was, but she was almost sure that she wouldn't have wanted to know anyway. Giving her a label would have just made her more of a freak as far as she was concerned.
Her cheeks remained a slightly flushed red, pulling all of her straightened hair to once side of her shoulder, revealing half of her pale neck. Attention from guys had never been uncommon beforehand, back in Richmond at least before she'd gone all weird with the visions and therefore piercings and highlights, and you know, she'd been fine with it then. She had been basically a stereotypical cheerleader, after all. But you know, at this point, it was more than easy for her to be perfectly awkward. She had become a bit more anti-social around all of those people that she had known, after all. Being back here and having people not know her quite as well did make it easier, but, it was still hard. She was terrified of slipping up, after all, but a bit of shameless flirting couldn't have hurt anyone, right? That was more than enough to let her go with this juts fine.
"Sure," Yeah, Sarah definitely hadn't had a guy offer to walk her to class in the longest time. And any girl loved being flirted with, she was definitely no exception to that. Her cheeks did very easily remain that light flushed pink, though. "Um, there's not a lot to know." She commentted with a petite shrug of the shoulders, glancing up at him through her bangs slightly. "Left here when I was fourteen with the dad since my 'rents divorced, dad died, moved back here when he died a couple of months ago. The end. And I live like, a mile off of main street." Small town, after all, it wasn't like there was a lot to live - or a lot who didn't know her story, but apparently he didn't. Repeating it, luckily, didn't bother her. Sometimes not being super close to your family helped like that. Sort of.

============================================ It was difficult dealing with people who had a tragic history when he had his humanity. Now that he didn't even have that, Stefan found that it was even worse to deal with. But instead of it being because he just felt so bad for them, he was suddenly wishing that he could just snap Sarah's neck to stop her prattle. That wouldn't do anything for him except get him caught for killing somebody, and spoiling his fun later. So he did his very best to put on a sympathetic face, which wasn't something Stefan enjoyed doing. "I'm really sorry to hear that you had such a sad past." He didn't know what else to say to make it seem like he felt bad, but he figured that that was all that was needed. Even if he did have his humanity, Stefan was pretty sure that he wouldn't have said much more than that. There weren't very many people that could continue talking after that point in these discussions anyhow.
Frowning over Sarah not giving too much details on where she lived, Stefan almost prodded her further. But he caught himself and nodded, knowing that he could always figure out where she lived another way. That's what they had phone books for after all, and even if there were other Bennison's in town, he'd just figure out which one lived off of main street. If there were more than one... well he'd just go to one and if it was the wrong one, then he'd get directed to the right one. Although he might not look like a stalker if he were picking her up, right? "So should I pick you up sometime, or what do you think? We should probably figure out what to do first, huh?" Grinning, Stefan found himself to be an absolute charmer right now and congratulated himself for a job well done. It was pretty obvious that things were going smoothly, and it had to be because of how good he was at this.
Deciding to take things up a notch, Stefan stopped outside of the classroom that Sarah needed to be in soon. "Actually, since I asked you out, I should come up with something on my own." Grinning, he began to walk away from her, a seemingly merry and light twinkle in his eye. But as soon as he turned around, his face changed to a more serious one, mind whirling as to what he wanted to do. He might not know yet, but he did know that it would have to be something special tonight. Not his usual torture and dismemberment that he had been doing for... like... ever. There was a reason he only did that though... he couldn't ever think of anything more fun. So this was going to take a lot of thought...

God, it was so refreshing to be treated like she was normal, and it definitely wasn't something that happened often enough, in her own opinion. Yeah, no one really knew what was going on up in her head, or what had driven her basically off of her own edge. Most people had highlights nowadays, yeah, but it wasn't like hers for sure, and very few went with the nose piercings, because well, it gave off a certain image they didn't want. At this point, well, Sarah didn't care. All of the pounding headaches had dragged herself away from all chances of being normal, and that was something that she had definitely detested, because yeah, she loved being normal and popular and having people's attentions all over her. Being the little head cheerleader and queen bee at her old school without even being a senior had been absolutely amazing, and now that she was a senior, it seemed only fitting she hadn't that title anymore. Pfft, whatever.
"It's fine, it doesn't really bother me." She commented, casually shrugging off his comment about her past. Talking about it didn't bother her to an extreme - she'd gone a bit into shock and almost numb immediately after it had happened, blocking out any pain that had threatened to get to her, and then she'd just gone back to normal like nothing had happened. A weird method, but yeah, it worked, so yeah, that was going to be whatever she was going to use if she ever needed to again. Hopefully, she wouldn't, of course, but you never knew with that kind of stuff, and she was okay with being prepared, even if that was probably a super negative train of thought. And yeah, she'd been a cheerleader, so her brain was practically trained to be overly positive and preppy, but that didn't mean that thoughts like that weren't still there, and with all of the visions, yeah, they were a lot more prominent than they used to be.
"Uh, yeah we should, but you can totally pick me up. Here's my address." Sarah reached in her bag and tore a piece of paper out of the small notepad that she kept, grabbing and pen and writing down her address in curly, girlish handwriting, before handing it to him with a small, almost shy grin. When they got to her next class, his comment made her grin, and she gave a small wave as he turned around. Well, at least tonight would hopefully fun and definitely worth some entertainment value. That would definitely add to the normal aspect of her day, she thought. And you know, he was cute, and definitely seemed charming and into her and everything, so it was definitely seeming like a major win-win situation. And she was totally cool with that.
