--------------------------------xxxxWhere is the moment we needed the most
You kick up the leaves and the magic is lost They tell me your blue skies fade to grey --------------------------------- One way ticket to earth. Gabriel, the archangel, the youngest and his father’s messenger, had fallen back to earth. He found his escape path, and took it. He knew that Raphael will find out sooner or later, and he had been hoping it would be later than sooner and try to kill him. Gabriel felt pain as he tried to stand up on the sand. He would have to take it slow, hide. No contact with anyone. Not Castiel, not Dean, not even Madison, even though the safest bet would be her since Raphael couldn’t kill her. She could be like a human shield, no Gabriel couldn’t use her like that, as much as he wanted to.
The Archangel stood up as slow as anyone could. He couldn’t fly just yet and realized he would be flying like a drunk butterfly for a while. Oh how he loved his family. Gabriel took a step, almost fell over. Oh this was going to be an adventure. Too bad Raphael wasn’t in the healing business anymore. Gabriel stumbled his way over to a log on the ground and sat himself down a moment. The archangel couldn’t remember the last time that he had felt this much pain before. Not even when he died. That was quick and easy.
Gabriel had stood up once more. He looked around at the ocean and the beach in the moonlight. This was going to take him forever to get to a safe house. Gabriel slowly started moving and he closed his eyes. Oh how he wished that it would just end. Gabriel tried flying but it failed. Gabriel crash landed into the ground and he chuckled sarcastically at the pain. Gabriel had moved himself a bit more when a few angels had landed in front of him.
“sorry, Raphael doesn’t want you to get away. Come back home.” one angel said as he took a step towards Gabriel holding his blade.
Gabriel just stood there and shook his head. “you will have to kill me first.”

- - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - -The blonde slayer sighed as she walked down the beach. She had just left a faculty beach party a few hours earlier which explained her unusual outfit of a black sundress and black sandals. She usually didn’t venture out at night without pants and a t-shirt on as a sundress was definitely not contusive to attempting to slay vampires…but she worked with what she had at the moment and this was what fit in at the dinner she had been at. Her cross necklace that he had given her so many years ago hung around her neck and her clutch with her lip gloss, money, and stake was hanging loosely from her wrist…all in all she was the picture of ease though her body was actually tensed for a fight.
She looked out at the waves, trying not to get lost in her own thoughts though it was easier said than done. She turned her body around to watch the fading light dance over the ocean and as she stood there, her mind wandered to a dream she had dreamed so many years ago. She fought against the onslaught of memories but they seemed to come crashing down on her no matter if she wanted them there or not.
How did you find me here? If I was blind, I would see you. Stay with me. Forever. That's the whole point. I'll never leave. Not even if you kill me.
She could still remember the feeling of being wrapped in his arms as the sunlight beat down on them and the waves crashed all around them. It should have been her first sign that it was a dream because he couldn’t be in the sunlight, but she had been so desperate for any sign that he had been real at one time that she had relished the experience…though waking up had been particularly horrible as she had woken up in her dingy little LA apartment.
Buffy shook her head, clearing her thoughts away from the dream and onto other matters…though her eyes widened as she took in a form of a man, though he was strange looking. She barely heard his comment about someone having to kill him when she saw others around him. “Woah…what the hell?” She asked, her once semi decent mood turning to shit as it looked like a battle was about to take place and all she had was a stake…not going to work against the blades they had.
“Is this a private fight or can anyone join in?” She asked loudly, hoping they heard her as she was still a few steps away.

--------------------------------xxxxWhere is the moment we needed the most
You kick up the leaves and the magic is lost They tell me your blue skies fade to grey --------------------------------- Gabriel had tried to stand up tall and proudly, like he was okay when in reality the archangel was in more pain than he had ever remembered. Gabriel had pulled out his own archangel blade and he stood there and waited. On moved foreword and Gabriel held his ground.
“come on big brother. don’t keep Raphael waiting.” another Angel had said to Gabriel.
Gabriel shook his head and he let out a sarcastic laugh. “seriously, do you think I am going to go back with you. You guys must be stupid.” Gabriel had held up his swoord, just below his chin, out in front of him in a defensive position.
Gabriel had heard a woman’s voice behind him. He turned his body so that he didn’t have to take his eyes completely off of the angels trying to get him to heaven again. She looked like she could handle herself and the only problem was, was she going against him or them? She was taller, blond hair, wearing a black sun dress. She seemed like a good person and her carrying around her stake made Gabriel think she was a hunter. Man was she in for a surprise when she found out they were all angels.
Gabriel just looked at her. It was easy to see that he was in pain. He shrugged at her. “be my guest, as long as your not trying to kill me.” Gabriel had answered her, now turning his attention back to Raphael’s team of stupid angels.
One ran at him, attacking. Gabriel barely moved out of the way before blocking the other sword. He had kicked the angel, then stabbed him and watched his brother die. Gabriel grabbed the sword and tossed it to the girl. “think you can handle yourself?” he asked with a smirk.

- - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - -She was surprised when the strange looking man answered first. She was even more surprised when he stated that she could join in the fight as long as she was fighting with him and not against him. Usually whenever she stepped into a fight one of two things happened. One being that those who fought all scuttled away, knowing that she would beat them. The other (and the more common) was that the two groups who were fighting band together to fight her…which was annoying but at least she could make people forget their differences to defeat a common enemy…though they never really defeated her…but that was beside the point.
She nodded her head at the weird looking guy and took the blade her offered her, turning her back and stabbing one of the several men coming at her. She didn’t know what they were but she could sense the power on them and it worried her…not for herself…but for the man who was fighting them. She barely heard him ask if she could handle herself before stabbing a second one, then throwing a look over her shoulder as she flicked a lock of stray blonde hair that had fallen into her face. “I can always handle myself…don’t worry about me.” She stated before jumping up and kicking one in the face.
The blonde groaned when she realized her dress was hindering her fighting and she leaned down, tearing a slit in the side making it easier to jump around and move. Luckily her dress was long enough that it worked without showing the entire world anything under her dress. It was annoying but it happened and it was something she was definitely used too. Clothing hazards were one of the many non-luxuries she had gotten used to in all her time as the slayer.
As she fought the man in front of her, going head to head with the blades clashing, she yelled over her shoulder at the strange looking man who she was helping. “So are these friends of yours?” She asked, curious as to exactly what they wanted from him and why they all seemed to hate each other. She hadn’t been listening to the banter between the groups so she really had no idea what was going on. To be honest she really didn’t know what they were or who they were…she just knew that they fought well and didn’t seem to mind trying to kill her seeing as she had jumped into the fray so she figured they were somewhat evil…
Though she had no idea if she was wrong or right.

--------------------------------xxxxWhere is the moment we needed the most
You kick up the leaves and the magic is lost They tell me your blue skies fade to grey --------------------------------- The Trickster looked at the other angels and he started swinging his blade. He wasn’t the best fighter, usually tried to avoid things like that. He could already feel himself healing which made it a lot easier to move around the blades being swung at him. He stabbed another brother of his and he watched the flash of white light, their grace, then death and wings on the ground. Gabriel looked at the blonde who seemed to be experienced in this kind of work. He wondered if she was a hunter. Well these looked to be the first angels she has killed. It pained him to see his brothers being killed, but there wasn’t much to be done about it. He knew that they wouldn’t stop, under Raphael’s orders, to take him back to heaven.
As he continued, his mind wandered and he thought about Jess Moore. He wondered what would happen if they found out she was with him in a way. The Trickster shook that thought out of his mind. He couldn’t think about her right now and she was a big girl and could handle herself. She didn’t need protection.
The Trickster had watched her kill two of his brothers. Gabriel swung up his blade to block another. He kicked at one of his brothers, the one who was talking earlier, and he grabbed his wrist and kneed him in the chest. Gabriel had punched him once more, then he had killed him by stabbing him in the heart. She had asked if they were friends of his. “nope, my friends wouldn’t attack me like this. Would yours?” Gabriel asked in a small teasing way, before smiling. “Family. They are my brothers.” Gabriel said honestly, now sitting himself down so that he could continue to finish healing.
“Thanks for the help. Its was very much appreciated, if you ever need help let me know. I owe that much to you.” Gabriel said to her. “you seriously don’t know what they would have… continued to do up there.” Gabriel added as he gave a half point upwards. He didn’t explain to her what he meant. The pain was still a lot but at least he would be fine in an hour.
The Trickster was really happy that she had come along. He knew that he would have probably died for sure…again. Gabriel looked at her then to the bodies of the dead angels. He didn’t care anymore. Raphael had just declared war on him now, so he really didn’t have a choice. Gabriel guessed that he was fighting along side Castiel, not for him, but for them. For this girl who had just appeared out of nowhere and helped him. It was like the Good Samaritan.
Gabriel had been able to stand up now. He was almost there. There wasn’t as much pain. He started moving around a little more, trying to get used to it, then looked at the blond girl again. “so who do I owe my thanks to?” Gabriel asked, wondering if he would get a name from her.

- - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - -She continued to take on the person in front of her who was definitely more skilled than she was with a sword. She’d be the first to admit that all her training with a sword came from two different sources. The first being Giles obviously, being that he was her watcher. The second however came from the worst battled that she had ever fought and that was of course the battle against Angelus while trying to stop Acathla. Angelus had learned how to fight with many different types of weapons in his 240+ years meaning that he definitely outdid her in the sword play area…she simply got lucky.
Though saying she got lucky with how the fight ended nearly tore her apart…but how else could she put it. He clearly had the upper hand in the knowledge of how to use the sword (as Whistler had painfully reminded her) but she had somehow still won…she still didn’t really understand how it had happened other than she gave it her all because in that moment she had nothing left to lose.
Or so she thought.
She shook her head, clearing her thoughts away from the past and focusing back to the matter at hand. She heard the guy’s comment about how his friends wouldn’t attack him like this and that they were his family. She laughed at his question about if her friends would attack her like this and nodded her head while dodging a particularly nasty ploy from the sword being wielded from the man in front of her. “Depending on the day they just might.” She stated with another laugh, knowing she sounded sarcastic but in all actuality she was deadly serious.
She thought briefly on how many times her friends had actually attacked her or she had attacked them because they were in some shape way or form evil. Xander when he was possessed by the Hyenas, Angelus, Anya after she had become a Vengeance Demon again, Willow after Tara had been killed, the list went on and on…which was actually a fairly frightening thing if she thought about it so once again she brought her head back into the battle, not wanting to go down memory lane.
Buffy brought her sword down and finished her final opponent off before plopping down next to the man. “I’m Buffy.” She stated, hoping he’d offer his name so she could stop calling him ‘the weird looking man’ in her head…though it did have a nice ring to it. “You say up there…where exactly are you from?” She asked, needing to know more but not wanting to sound pushy. He seemed like an alright guy so she wouldn’t use her usual interrogation skills…
At least for now.

--------------------------------xxxxWhere is the moment we needed the most
You kick up the leaves and the magic is lost They tell me your blue skies fade to grey --------------------------------- The Trickster had waited for the reply. Of course he didn’t know that that had happened to her. Her friends turning on her. Oops. He felt bad now. Gabriel looked at her again when she said depending on the day. He knew that through the sarcasm, well he didn’t know but he could guess, that she was being serious. “sorry, didn’t know.” the Trickster had looked down again. “If it helps any, the only person who would be considered my friend is kind of a nut, but I guess I’m not any better.” Gabriel referred to Maddie.
He looked out in the distance, at the beach and decided that once Raphael figures out what had happened here, he would be after Gabriel once more. Not just him now, her too. “hey, keep that blade. Something tells me you may need it later.” Gabriel said to her honestly. The Trickster then added “It kills anything, angels, demons and hellhounds a like. Might come in handy for you.” He smiled lightly to her.
She sat beside him and said that he name is Buffy. That was a peculiar name. “Guess I really don’t have to hide my true identity anymore. Yes up there, Heaven up there.” Gabriel looked at her seriously, sensing that she had been up there once before. “really hate that place.”
“They call me Gabriel. I prefer the Trickster or Loki though. That’s who I was living under for the past many, many years after I ran away from heaven.” Gabriel said to her, sticking out his hand for her to shake.
“So Buffy, where does a person like you learn how to fight like that? You a hunter or something?” The Trickster then asked her curiously. He figured she was a hunter of some sort, not like Sam and Dean but something different. She was stronger and he could sense that.

- - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - -She giggled a bit at the comment about his only friend being a nut. “If it helps, all of my friends are a bit nutty themselves.” She stated with a grin, thinking of how true that statement really was. Her ground was an odd bunch she could attest to that.
You had Giles, the older British man who they all considered a father figure who was about as stuffy as they came though he had mellowed out in the past few years. Xander was a jokester, something that until she had moved to Sunnydale Buffy hadn’t been able to stand. Willow was a computer girl though also a badass witch who could do things that she couldn’t believe but then blush when someone talked about sex. There was Faith, who had once been evil and tried to kill her, though she could say the same thing about Spike as well. Then there was Angel…who was the love of her existence but she didn’t speak to him any longer. Then of course there was her. She was the leader of the group and definitely the weirdest out of all. She was the slayer, a counselor, and an older sister…and Willow would want her to mention that she was a best friend.
They were all a bunch of misfits but they worked like a well oiled machine together. It was an odd group but she wouldn’t change it other than to bring a few people back into it but that was another matter entirely.
She was surprised when the odd man stated that she should keep the blade and what all it killed. Though when the list he sprouted off became clear in her mind her eyes went wide. “Okay, Angels? Really?” She asked, confused. “Okay, I’m a bit lost. I’m Buffy, The Vampire Slayer…and you are?” She asked, needing clarification on who…or more importantly what he was. She heard him say his name was Gabriel and she blushed, laughing a bit until she heard his comment about heaven. “Wait…so you’re an angel?” She asked, the look on her face being comical if she wasn’t so dead serious.

--------------------------------xxxxWhere is the moment we needed the most
You kick up the leaves and the magic is lost They tell me your blue skies fade to grey --------------------------------- The Trickster smiled to the girl when she said that all her friends were a bit nutty. “How nutty is nutty?” he asked, striking up a conversation. He wondered if any of her friends was like his. He never really considered the Winchesters and Castile friends but he figured that since he and Dean were sort of working together, they were sort of kind of friends. The small laugh he gave really hurt his ribs. He realized that he really needed to take it easy right now and he couldn’t go around and do everything that he used to do. Not until he was done healing. He wondered if his older brother’s angel followers were just as bad when torturing as the demons were. He didn’t want to test the theory though. It would kill him even more.
The Trickster had looked back at Buffy when she asked about angels. didn’t he just admit that he was one? He tilted his head in confusion. “uh, yeah!” Gabriel said in a sarcastic manor. “nice to meet you Buffy the Vampire slayer.” he smiled. He hadn’t heard of a slayer before so that was different. “Not just any angel, sweetheart.” Gabriel started, and winced before he could finish. “Gabriel.” The Trickster introduced. “but as I said. I prefer either The Trickster or Loki.”
Buffy looked as if she didn’t believe him. If she was a vampire slayer, why didn’t she? She knew of the supernatural and everything, that just confused him. “Theres a world of demons, and it didn’t make you think that maybe there were angels out there too?” Gabriel asked her curiously. He wanted to know if she thought that there was such thing as one with out the other. That would be a horrible thing though. Hell would run the world and he knew only chaos could come from that.

- - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - -She laughed a bit at the question about how nutty is nutty. God if he really only understood how completely insane her group of friends were he would laugh too. “Long story short? In my close group of friends we have me, an older British guy who is my watcher, two witches, a girl who was made human to protect her from a hell god, a ‘normal’ guy though there’s really nothing normal about him, and a couple others here and there.” She stated with a laugh before sobering slightly. “Though before some bad things happened we also had a gypsy, a former vengeance demon, and a vampire with a soul.” She stated before quickly changing the subject.
She was surprised that she had really never given angels a thought…at least on earth. “Forgive me.” She told him, smiling apologetically. “Theology has never been my strong point…which is ironic since having been to heaven myself…” She stated, not wanting to think about those days but unfortunately her memories pulled her back. She didn’t remember a lot about her death…well…she remembered the moments leading up to it. She remembered the pain of jumping into the portal. She remembered heaven. She remembered the feelings associated with it, the warmth, the love, the peace. She remembered being ripped out, being pushed into a body that had been dead for months. She remembered having to claw her way out of her grave. She remembered not understanding what was going on around her. She remembered thinking she was in hell when in reality she had been returned to the place that she had died to protect.
However she really never remembered angels being around here…though it was different there and while she still retained her memories, they were cloudy at best. She just remembered the feelings mostly…and those feelings she missed more than she cared to admit.
She shook herself mentally before turning her attention back to Gabriel…and she had a feeling she was missing something as when he stated his name she had a feeling he was used to almost being praised in a way. “Again, theology has never been my strong point being what I deal with daily…but I guess I’ll call you Loki since you request that.” She stated with a laugh, knowing how it felt to want to be called anything but your given name.

--------------------------------xxxxWhere is the moment we needed the most
You kick up the leaves and the magic is lost They tell me your blue skies fade to grey --------------------------------- The Trickster listened to her talk. He laughed when she named off the group. “yeah well my friend has a really bad temper problem as well as her cousin, who will blow up at every little thing, then they have 2 older cousins, ones getting married and the other is like the mother figure. Not as bad as your group but if it helps any, they are all from England. Then another friend was a human who was turned into an angel. I am training her I guess.” Gabriel laughed a little. “wowm you really have crazy friends, and why would you friend a demon? Aren’t they not trustworthy?” he then asked Buffy curiously.
Buffy had asked him for forgiveness. He looked at her with an eyebrow raised and he then asked her curiously “for what?” He let out a sigh which caused more pain. She had explained that theology wasn’t her best subject. “reality, not theology.” He corrected her with a small smile, not trying to be a smart ass. She looked pained now. He wished he could do something for her, but really at this moment heaven was not the place to be right now. It wasn’t what it was supposed to be like with his brother Raphael up there, turning humans like Jessica Lee Moore into an angel. “if it helps any, heaven is the last place you want to be right now. I was just there. Its not fun.” Gabriel smiled a reassuring smile to her.
The Trickster really wondered what happened to him. He could trick her, well before he died, he could trick her and watch everything happen and now he couldn’t do that. It was as if he was starting to care, it was as if his death had made an impact, and God and Joshua had made an impact. Gabriel thought about it. He was never a talking person unless it was Sam and Dean he was messing with. Oh those two. They were always fun to mess with. Gabriel snapped his fingers and watched two beers appear in front of him. He wished he could just send up for hard liquor but again, angels cant get drunk so there would be no point to that. He offered the other beer to Buffy, hoping she would take it. He didn’t want to look like a looser being the only one drinking. “Angels cant get drunk, trust me. The metabolism is too fast.” he said to her as he broke the top off of the bottle and shook his hand from the pain. It wasn’t because he had done that to the bottle it was because of his brother. “sometimes I wish though.” he added with a smile and drank some of the beer.
Gabriel had moved a little to try to reposition himself so that he would be more comfortable. He turned his attention back to Buffy and he let out another sigh. “sorry , the whole talking thing is new to me. Never really sat and chatted to anyone. Not even Maddie.” Gabriel said with a small shrug. Okay maybe he had stayed and talked for a bit but never as long as he is talking to Buffy right now. Something about this slayer made him want to get to know her more. She seemed like a good friend to have, if the Trickster could even call the people he knows friends. It was all weird. He never really kept friends around because he was afraid of screwing something up, loosing that person, like how he almost lost Kali. He still loved her, but he never would admit that. Okay, maybe he doesn’t love her anymore, but he did and when he did he would never admit that he loved her. They had a fling, that was that.
Gabriel nodded to when she said she would call him Loki. “Loki is the name and identity I had taken for my own private witness protection. that’s how I hid for centuries on end.” Gabriel smiled to her. “Never got bored though.” he then shrugged.
Gabriel looked around. “so, what are you doing on the beach alone? Not like you cant handle yourself or anything. I figured you would be with one of your friends, someone who cares about you, not saving my life.” if it was even worth saving. Gabriel never really thought it was, but his father had, so he guessed that was all that mattered.

- - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - -She laughed a bit at the question about the demons being trustworthy. “Honestly? I’ve had a few vampires and a demon or two become more trustworthy than most humans.” She stated with a bitter tone. It was the complete and utter truth though. She hated to admit it but there were still a lot of trust issues between her and those she held closest to her. The whole ‘being kicked out of her house’ thing that happened when the potentials rebelled against her and her best friends and her sister stood behind them thing that happened really broke her trust barrier down a bit. “They also at least for the most part tell you what their after. Most demons want simple things, death, destruction, it’s the humans that make things complicated.” She stated with a shrug, though being completely honest.
“In our world it’s known as theology, though I guess your right when you say it’s reality. Mythology is something I’m well versed in but it’s technically my reality.” She stated really out of speaking to herself more than actually replying to his statement. “I never really thought of it that way but I guess I do get a little bit annoyed when people talk about myths and legends that I know are real as a false statement so again, I apologize.” She stated, hoping that it made sense but knowing it most likely didn’t.
“Why wouldn’t I want to be in heaven right now?” She asked him, her face one of complete curiosity. “It has to be better than this. I don’t remember a lot of heaven, and what I do remember were more feelings than actual memories, but I do remember when I came back…my first thought was that I had been banished from heaven and sent to hell…which in all actuality I’ve been to a hell like dimension before and some days I can’t exactly say which one is worse.” The blonde slayer commented.
Buffy let out a high pitched giggle that was completely unlike her when she saw the beer being offered. She hated to say no as she was an adult and one beer wouldn’t hurt her, but she had bad luck with beer. She took it but simply played with the tab of it. “You really don’t want me drinking beer. Beer+Buffy=Bad news. Trust me, I once thought I was a cavewoman while drinking beer.” She giggled out, hoping he could understand her.
“I was here at a party for the school I’m currently working on. Afterwards I simply had to patrol and figured the beach was as good of place as any. The cemetery has been dead for a few days now seeing as word has gotten around that I’m here so I figured maybe I’d find some action here. I’ll admit I didn’t really anticipate helping to save an angel’s life though…that’s definitely a new one for me. As for my friends…they are with their significant others last I checked. My sister is on a date with some new guy, my best friend is with her girlfriend, and the rest of my friends are in Rome.” She told him with a small smile, though her voice seeped with how lonely she truly was.

You kick up the leaves and the magic is lost They tell me your blue skies fade to grey --------------------------------- Gabriel looked at her confused. How could she be friends with a demon? It really didn’t sound good at all. Nothing good could come from that. Gabriel decided to just let that go. It reminded him of Ruby and Sam. Sure, Gabriel knew what was going on with them. He was keeping an eye on the Winchesters. He always had, since the day they were born. He shrugged and he then replied to her “that’s really interesting. I mean the fact that you seem to be friends with demons. I would never. I find entertainment in messing with them.” Gabriel simply said. Her next statement was true than most. She was right on how humans could be hard to read sometimes. Though, the Trickster never had a problem with that. He simply took what he was after, like most demons do.
She said that theology was what it was called, and that mythology is something else. He thought about her statement being confused about it for a moment. Okay, maybe she was right about that too. He didn’t say anything. She then apologized. He shook his head. She didn’t have to. He totally understood. People believe what they want to and he wasn’t telling her otherwise. After all, people, just like the angels lost faith in their father as well. “no, don’t worry about it. You don’t have to apologize for anything. Its clear facts.” Gabriel let out a sigh and realized he was still in pain. That really sucked. He hated their damn archangel and angel blades. He wished that they didn’t exist, then he could not be in so much pain. This was going to take days to heal.
Buffy then asked about why she wouldn’t want to be in heaven. He shook his head. She didn’t remember heaven. Sure, some can remember feelings, as she does, but others, like the Winchesters can remember it, well the last time they did. Gabriel looked at her and he then said “Civil war, dear Buffy. Heaven has gone to war with itself. Castiel, my younger brother had turned on my older brother Raphael, the archangel. Its going to be a never ending and bloody battle. I am just waiting on the side lines. We arent supposed to fight like this, we are supposed to love each other. Father left, Heaven went into chaos.” Gabriel paused. He looked at her and he then said “You don’t remember because the angels had erased your memory. They don’t allow people to remember at all, and the angels wouldn’t banish anyone from heaven. that’s a big no no. if you deserved heaven, then you stay. Buffy Summers, you deserve heaven.” Gabriel gave her a reassuring smile.
Gabriel laughed at her. “I wont let you do something stupid. Well maybe, what ever I find amusing.” Gabriel joked around with her. He enjoyed talking to the slayer. Maybe they could be great friends, he always needed more friends, well people he could depend on. He missed the fact that he could depend on the demigods. Once they learned that he was really Gabriel, they all turned on him and Kali, the once love of his life, tried to kill him.
“yeah, you did save my life, and I am grateful for it. You don’t know the half of it though.” Gabriel smiled kindly to her. He looked around and realized that they probably wouldn’t be safe here long. “unless you want to fight more angels, we should keep going. Raphael isnt very happy with me since I betrayed him to help another angel who didn’t deserve to die, saved her life, threw mine under a bus, so to speak. It all worked out though.” Gabriel laughed to himself. He looked to Buffy once more and he then said “Mooning my older brother was more fun than I thought it would be.” Gabriel shrugged. He knew that Raphael would find him sooner or later. He hoped later.
“Rome, eh? Nice place. Been there for a hundred years once, give or take a few years or so. During Rome’s high point. Totally screwed with the city though. There’s a lot you can think of to mess around with people. That and I accidentally made Pompeii blow its top. That wasn’t funny, but you have never seen more reapers in one place though…no I lied I have somewhere else.” Gabriel shrugged. He then looked at her to see what she would say. “nah, just kidding, wish I could take credit for that. I didn’t make Pompeii go in smoke and ashes, though I was there and yet again, wasn’t funny. I actually felt something for the people there. couldn’t save them because it was father’s will, but I watched it.”Gabriel shrugged. “what made you all choose Rome?” Gabriel then asked her curiously. He enjoyed his time in Rome but would much rather be in Asgaard, causing trouble there.

- - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - -The blonde slayer laughed at the question and comment about her being friends with a demon and then the fact that he liked messing with them. “Unfortunately with everything I’ve been through I had to learn the hard way that not all humans are good and not all demons and vampires are bad.” She stated with a shrug before elaborating. “I’ve met evil vampires…killed a lot of them…met evil demons and killed a lot of them as well. Hell I’ve killed…well…I beat the crap out of a hell god, my watcher technically killed her because she shared the body with a human and I didn’t want to take an innocent life. Anyway, I’ve also met humans who have done worse things than any demon I’ve ever seen. And I’ve met vampires who have bigger hearts and a more pure soul than anyone I’ve ever seen. In my life I’ve refused to see the world in black and white…I live in the gray part and everyone around me seems to be in that part as well, they just try and see it in black and white and most of the time it doesn’t work like that.” She stated, hoping she didn’t offend him in anyway.
“With that said however, I also like messing around with people, especially vampires. They tend to try and beat me and I instead hit them back with puns that confuse them.” She stated with a roll of the eyes. “Yeah, I’m not a big prankster, only because if I would ever start a prank war with my friends I would get my butt handed to me. You’ve got my best friend whose a witch and would definitely conjure up pranks that I wouldn’t be able to figure out let alone avoid, and then you’ve got my other best friend whose a great guy but he spent years trying to win ‘class clown’ in our high school, and though he lost I wouldn’t want to be up against him.” She told him, laughing at bit at some of the things she’d seen Xander do over the years.
She turned her attention back to what Gabriel was saying about heaven and was surprised to hear about the civil war up there. It made her almost grateful that she was here and that was something she could honestly say she hadn’t thought since she was dragged out of heaven. She missed it, every day, even if she couldn’t really remember much of it, she could still remember the feelings that she felt while there. She missed it but at that moment she was glad she was away from heaven. She smiled sweetly at him when he stated that she deserved heaven. Really there had only been two other people who had said anything close to that and they had both been in love with her so it was nice to hear it from someone unbiased. Even though her friends had apologized for what they had done, she had a feeling that none of them really realized how difficult it had been, and how much she had doubted herself for years on where she would end up after her death.
Sure she knew that she was a good person, but murder is murder and she had murdered thousands of vampires and hundreds of demons…so to be in heaven and then to be ripped out, it had been something she didn’t know how to handle, and her friends were a huge part of that. “Thank you.” She simply stated.
“The last time I drank I ended up acting like a cave girl…literally…it wasn’t pretty.” She stated with a laugh, rolling her eyes at the memory. “It wasn’t a pretty picture.” She stated but then cracked up when she heard that Gabriel had mooned his older brother. “Let me guess, the look on his face was priceless?” She asked with a giggle.
“I could use the walk since I ate so much food earlier…want to walk with me?” She asked, standing up and brushing off the sand that had lingered on her dress. “As for Rome, I chose it because it was far away to be honest. Also my friends and I all took French in high school and while I’m far from fluent, it was easier to study up on rather than learn a completely new language if we had gone to Spain, Germany, or anywhere else.” She told him with a shrug. “I wanted to be away from the states for awhile, though I missed it every day. Training slayers isn’t something that can be broadcasted and with that I needed to get them as far away from Sunnydale which was where the most known hellmouth was until it was blown up, so I figured Rome was a safe bet.”

--------------------------------xxxxWhere is the moment we needed the most
You kick up the leaves and the magic is lost They tell me your blue skies fade to grey --------------------------------- “yeah, but they’re demons.” Gabriel said, not fully understanding what Buffy was saying. He couldn’t picture him even remotely becoming friends with a demon, or even getting on a first name basis with one. They were horrible things. When she mentioned a hell god, his eyebrow raised. He didn’t know what that was. Was it what she called a powerful demon? The only god of hell would be Lucifer, the big boss down there. Then he figured she may have been talking about a pagan god of hell, which was a different story. He dismissed that since that’s what he figured she meant. When she said she lived in gray Gabriel thought he did too, with running around with the pagan gods and all, but she was just crazy with making friends with demons. Maybe he felt that way because he had met really stupid demons and knew no good could come from them and that they were impulsive and think that they could rule the world, which in reality the only being who had a chance was God, and well maybe Gabriel himself if he really tried. “I understand what your saying, maybe you just ran into a logical, not a dumbass type of demon.” Gabriel responded, still trying to understand himself, which at this point was impossible. He still thought of them as gross and not worthy.
Gabriel laughed at her comment about messing around with vampires. He could totally do some damage with her. He wondered if she had the same sense of humor that he himself had, and that Maddie had, well Maddie’s wasn’t as big as his but they still had fun. Gabriel could picture that. She then said that she wasn’t a big prankster only because her friends would hand her ass to her on a silver platter. Gabriel could fix that one. He looked at her and listened to her talk about what her friends could do. He smirked evily, almost forgetting that he was still in a lot of pain. He figured that seeing Dean could wait an hour or two. He was safe here with Buffy the Slayer. “yeah but they don’t have an archangel on their side now do they? Magic does very little to me and well there isnt a prank I have never seen, well except the ones I think of before I do.” Gabriel continued to smirk. He owed her for saving his life. He wanted to know what she wanted in return. “is there anything I could do for you? I owe you one for helping me and saving my life. If you cant think of anything now, just call or pray for me and I will come.” Gabriel smiled to her, completely meaning every word he said.
Her reaction to him talking about heaven a was one he would have expected. People believed Heaven to be a wonderful place, a place that was peaceful and kind, when in reality that was far from the truth. Heaven was a wreck, and Gabriel knew that he could be the one to fix it if he wanted, but he didn’t. he didn’t want anything to do with heaven or anything of the sort. He looked at her smile. “you do you know. You just don’t deserve that heaven. You deserve a peaceful one ran by father, not my brother Raphael and my other brother trying to take over, Castiel.” Gabriel let out a sigh and winced in pain. “especially not ran by Raphael.” Gabriel added. Gabriel would know that she did and she shouldn’t take that comment lightly from him. He was born in heaven, well created as in born. He knew everything about the place and who would be there. “so you don’t have to worry about that. There is a place for you saved for only you.” Gabriel finally said.
Gabriel looked at her and smiled when she said thank you. “no thanks needed. it’s the truth and really nothing could change it. If that does happen and you end up in hell, well lets just say a ton of Demons are going to shit themselves as I pull you out and up. I can cause hell to go into chaos just but showing the slightest bit of presence.” Gabriel smiled a reassuring smile to her. Demons feared angels and when an archangel comes around all hell breaks loose in itself.
Buffy told of what happened last time she drank. He merely shrugged. More booze in bent reality for him. He laughed at her question. “he was surprised. that’s all I saw as I hauled ass back here. I fell to earth faster than the speed of light.” Gabriel laughed. “that’s a fun prank to do too. Mooning angels. I was always the immature brother, even though I am older than all the angels except my four older brothers Michael, Raphael, Lucifer and Ramiel. I just acted like I was the youngest angel in existence. Even my other younger siblings wanted nothing to do with me except Joshua, who I still really, really like out of a lot of them up there.” Gabriel said about the angels. He knew that it was all true. Even at a young age, Gabriel was always a prankster so it was natural that he came to earth to become a Trickster.
Gabriel stood up and he felt more pain. He knew that he should walk a bit, walk some of it off, maybe it would make him feel better, or worse. It might just make him hurt more. Oh well. Gabriel sort of slouched over and looked at her and shrugged. “I think I will be okay for a walk.” Gabriel had said and he started walking. He listened to her talk about why she chose Rome and everything. It was interesting. She was training others like her. That was good to know that she had an army behind her in case Angels decided to go after her. “I cant remember if I said this already or not, but hold onto that blade. I have a feeling angels wont let you go for helping me and now that I know you have almost an army of others like you behind you I don’t worry anymore.” Gabriel gave her a smile. “and I can understand where you are coming from. Hell, look what I ran away from.” Gabriel laughed as they continued to walk. “did you like Rome though?” Gabriel then asked as he looked out at the water in the distance. He couldn’t remember the last time he had stepped on a beach. He missed it and half wished that he wasn’t in as much pain as he was in right now.
