The blonde slayer barely heard her best friend ask her girlfriend to run an errand for her but she didn’t doubt the reasoning behind it. Willow wasn’t as slick as she thought and she knew that while she had never said it, her best friend blamed her for her girlfriend’s death. She had never spoken the words out loud, but she knew. The bullet that had killed Tara had been meant for her and yet while Willow had been able to save her from the bullet that had hit her, she hadn’t been able to save Tara. It was another unspoken thing that everyone agreed on.
If she hadn’t been in Willow’s life then Tara would have never died…and Willow would have never gone crazy on the magicks…meaning that Warren would have never died. So that was another death that rested on her shoulders. It was something as the slayer that she had gotten used to over the years. It was the same with Jenny Calendar’s murder. She knew that everyone, including Giles, blamed her on some level for that because it had been her who had slept with Angel, releasing Angelus, who had murdered her watcher’s girlfriend. It was another instance that wasn’t talked about, but it was a known fact.
So it was quite obvious to her why Willow wanted Tara out of the room and out of the house, she was protecting her. She had no idea if these men were going to be evil, or good, though they claimed that they were good. Willow was doing what she had to to keep the girl she loved safe and Buffy would never berate her for that…however it did wound her a bit to know that most likely Willow would always try to keep Tara out of the thick of things because anyone near the blonde slayer was immediately marked for death in some way or another.
Her thoughts dissipated when Willow commented on doing a truth spell or turning them into rats. The last one made her laugh. “Yeah we all remember how much Amy liked being turned into a rat…I vote that one if they continue to piss me off.” She stated with a laugh, but didn’t continue down memory lane about Amy because of the last time the two witches had seen each other. Amy had turned Willow into Warren and that hadn’t been a heel clicking good time for anyone.
She heard the man she still had in a chokehold comment that he had been talking about his car when he had said his baby, not anything else, which she wouldn’t admit it, but it caused her some relief. She felt guilty when she heard that the car was his dad’s and he had owned it for such a long time, but it didn’t cause her to release him yet. She’d probably feel a bit guiltier later but she’d deal with it then. Right now her sister was missing and now was definitely not the time to let emotions get in the way of that.
Her eyes widened when she told him that his brother had lost his soul and she had to fight to keep the memories of Angelus at bay. She couldn’t afford to start thinking about her former lover’s demon counterpart and what he had done to her, her family and her friends while he had been soulless all those years ago. She couldn’t afford to let emotions get in the way of finding her sister and she knew if she would think about that year so long ago, she’d never get anything done. “I know how you feel.” She simply stated. “Once we find my sister we may be able to help. A friend of mine lost his soul a few years back, and we…well…Willow was able to return it to him. We might be able to help, though my friend wasn’t human so I’m not sure if it’ll work, but we can try.” She stated, giving a nod to Willow when she stated that Willow had been able to return Angel’s soul. She wasn’t sure of the logistics since Angel had been a demon cursed with a soul and this guy was human, but either way she’d attempt to help if they helped her find her sister.
The blonde slayer stared at Dean when he commented on her being a good hunter. She glared at him when he called her babe, it was not something that she enjoyed being called unless it was by AJ and that was only because she had gotten used to it. Also, he was AJ, you couldn’t tell him not to do anything because if you did, he would simply do it all the more just to annoy the ever living hell out of you.
She heard his definition of a hunter and she was surprised at all the things that he had seen, though angels seemed to be the thing sticking out in the forefront of her mind. She’d definitely come back to that later, but again, now was not the time. “I’m not a hunter…I’m the vampire slayer.” She stated, going on before he could ask exactly what that was. “In every generation there is a chosen one. She alone will stand against the vampires, the demons, and the forces of darkness. She is the slayer.” She recited, sounding scarily like Giles for a minute minus the British accent. She glared at the man who AJ held up by his throat. “No need to get an attitude asshole.” She stated. “And yes, actually, I do care about what you two are because that way I can figure out if you have any idea what we are up against.” She stated with a sneer.
“My sister is a magnet for danger…she’s been kidnapped by hell gods, by demons, by vampires. Every time she is kidnapped I have to go save her. Unfortunately the person who kidnapped her hasn’t exactly shown themselves, meaning that I am at a loss. So either work with us, nicely, or leave. I don’t care which, and I don’t care if it messes up your schedule, but do it quickly.” She stated before turning her attention back to Dean. “Behave AJ.” She stated, hearing his comment about allowing him to try to kill him if he wanted.
Before she could continue on however she heard Sam speaking once more. “I’ll trust you to help us…but you two need to know something. I’m in charge. I don’t take orders, I never have. Ask my friends, they know, I don’t deal well with people telling me what to do. I called the cops only out of necessity and also to have a paper trail in case something happened. The cops around here aren’t as clueless as you’d think. They know about vampires in the least being that I was shot at the other night while patrolling the cemetery by wooden bullets. “ She stated before allowing her attention once more on her hostage.
“I’ll let you go…but try anything funny and you’ll be back up against that wall…capuche?” She asked before allowing him to move freely. She motioned to AJ to let his hostage go, though she kept a close eye on the other man. As soon as Dean had informed her that he had no soul she knew she had to keep an eye on him for fear of he would be just like Angelus. She knew that some humans could be more cruel than demons…she had learned that over her years as a slayer extremely well.
She giggled a bit at AJ’s comment about liking the asshole, though it wasn’t at all a surprise. “Maybe you should take him in back then…” She stated, winking at AJ. She knew AJ had a tendency to like hot people, and she’d admit the two guys were hot. However she had a feeling after the two had spoken that neither one was gay, and she knew that AJ most likely knew that as well.
“As for who took Dawn, I don’t know. I have a really bad feeling though and usually my feelings are right.” She stated before turning her attention to Willow. “Kennedy showed up here recently…you were here. She threw a fit and I threw her out. What if she took Dawn Wills?” She asked, knowing that if this was the case things were even more dangerous than they had originally thought. She had no doubt in her mind that she could beat Kennedy if necessary…but that meant it was a person…and that made it all the more dangerous.
