- - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - -Chase Carter Wyatt grinned happily at his little girl. She was probably the cutest little thing ever. Okay, so he knew he was extremely biased with it came to his three year old daughter, but he had heard it from other people as well, so how could he not think that? Chase smiled at his daughter's enthusiasm. She was adorable. It saddened him to think that he had kept his daughter so sheltered but he couldn't help it. Sure he knew people here but Lilly-Anne didn't and not many people knew that he had a child. He hated the fact that he had kept her a secret but it was easier that way for him and her. He was just thankful that his brother had figured out what was going on with his mother before she had hurt his little girl. His fingers clenched to his side when he thought about what all his daughter had gone through just so he could have a regular high school education, it made him sick to think of the things she had seen and heard from his mother.
Chase shook his head to rid himself of the negative thoughts and instead went to check that he had everything he needed for the day. This would be the first day anyone in Mystic Falls saw Lilly-Anne (with him that is as Alice tended to take her out when she went shopping, just to get her out of the house) and he was sure as heck not looking forward to the questions he would get.
Chase sighed and walked into the kitchen, making sure everything was safely put in Lilly-Anne's diaper bag. The diaper bag he had bought worked out perfectly. It looked like a messenger bag on the outside, but on the inside had more compartments and such to keep things in, making it a diaper bag. Luckily his little one was potty trained so he didn't have to worry about diapers, however he did make sure to pack two extra changes of clothes just in case he either got dirty, which with his daughter, that was extremely possible, or they had to leave because of an emergency or something along those lines. He also had several sippy cups full of juice as well. After double checking once again that he had everything, he put the messenger bag around his shoulders and went into the living room to check on his baby girl.
“Ready kiddo?” he asked her, but didn’t want for an answer as he picked Lilly-Anne up and settled her on his hip.
Chase shook his head slightly at his daughter's enthusiasm, as he had heard a slight 'yep' when asked if she was ready and headed towards his garage. Once he entered he opened the door to his black Hummer H3. It was a great car yet he definitely missed his sports car that he had before he traded it in. It was sleeker than the hummer…got a whole lot better gas mileage as well. However his sports car was definitely not suitable for him to be driving a child around in since it had been a convertible and he had traded it right after Lilly-Anne was born…so the Hummer H3 it was.
He smiled apologetically at his little girl before strapping her into the car seat. He knew that his child hated the booster seat but he also knew if he somehow got pulled over and Lilly-Anne wasn’t in a car seat, he would get at the least a ticket, at most arrested and Lilly-Anne sent to DFS…and that was definitely not an option. As soon as he made sure his baby was strapped in he closed the door and went around to his side of the car. He had placed Lilly-Anne’s car seat in the back of the passenger seat that way he could look back and talk to her if he felt like she was getting bored. Sure he knew he needed to keep his eyes on the road, but that’s what stop lights were for. He sat in the drivers side and started the car, cringing when the music came on too loud. He immediately turned it down, giving his child another apologetic look.
He loved driving. It was calming to him. He loved the feel of being in complete control for once, something he rarely felt. Chase realized his thoughts had been jumping around for almost fifteen minutes and laughed slightly at himself. He definitely needed to stop getting lost in his thoughts.
"Alright little one, we're almost there. Now, here's the rules. My number one rule is you have to stay by me. My number two rule is no biting, kicking, pulling, anything on anyone else. My number three rule is that you need to be polite if anyone comes over and wants to talk to us. However do not talk to strangers if I’m not around. Are these three rules understood?"

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- It was a nice day out an Lisa thought she would take Ben out to the park, maybe some of his friends would be there. Or he might think he was too old for it either way he was going and it would be a nice bonding time for the two of them. It had been a while since they actually spent time together so a day out would be fun. Ben was a good kid and liked spending time with his mother so it was ok. Lisa packed up a nice big lunch. She loved to cook so it was nothing unusual for her to pack a lot of stuff.
Smiling she put everything in the car and rushed Be out of the house. "The day isn't getting any brighter!" she chirped with a smile as she got in a buckled herself up. Starting the car they took off for the park. Hopefully Ben would have a good time with her. Maybe his friends would be there to, or he might make new ones. Who knows. It didn't take long for her to get there. Lisa lived close, than again the whole town was close to everything, it was all walking distance which was nice. But when packing a bunch of stuff she didn't want to have to Carry it all.
Getting out she grabbed her purse and the bag and found a nice spot under the shade. Ben followed her with his basket ball tucked under his arm. He didn't look to enthusiastic to be here but he wasn't totally miserable either. Setting up Ben went off to shoot some hoops. Picnics just weren't the same without Dean around. Lisa and Ben knew it. It was hard on them both, but mostly Ben because he never really had a father figure in his life till Dean came back. Now Dean was always home than gone, well more gone than home and it hit Ben hard. Maybe one day things will settle down, and Ben will understand better why Dean was always out.
Sitting back Lisa soaked up some of the sun while Ben played around on the court making shots, missing shots. He had a lot to improve but more practice always helped. Lisa wasn't very good with the sports, it was usually Deans area of expertise. A small sigh escaped her lips as she thought about Dean. IT was a sad thought really but happy at the same time. Shaking it off she looked over to Ben and watched him play. A smile came to her lips, he was getting so big so fast. Soon he would be leaving her for college or work or something. How fast kids grew up, it always amazed her.

Excited was pretty much an understatement for Lilly-Anne at the moment. Her energy was high, and her moral was through the roof! So her father better have his running shoes on because Lilly-Anne was ready to run. And run fast she did. Where she got her leg's no one would know, but Lilly-Anne knew how to use them. A future soccer player for sure. Or long jumper. Her legs would be put to great use some day. She of course giggled when she was swung from the floor into her daddy's arms. Struggling only lightly when she was placed in the death trap called a child booster seat. She honestly hated the thing, seat belt included. Though she understood and would deal with the seat belt, but the booster seat under her butt, was a problem, that she wished to get rid of. Too bad her father was smarter then her, and attached the booster seat to the actual seat, so she could not simple kick it out from under her. She tried that once... but of course Daddy was there to put a stop to it. She just needed to find a way to get it out from under her.... But she'd have to think on it at a later date, seeing as they reached the park.
While Chase looked for a parking spot, he listed the rules. Something he had to do before taking her anywhere. Lily-Anne needed to be reminded of the rule's or she was likely to 'forget'. So best to make sure she understood before letting her free in public. Not saying Lilly-Anne is the devil or anything, but she is pretty darn close to it. "Kay daddy." Lilly-Anne said, not really paying attention. But a look from her father through the mirror, told her to repeat what he had said. She knew she would not be aloud to go anywhere until the rules were repeated back to him. If she would have kept it at Kay daddy, then later when she was in trouble for running off, she'd say she did not hear or she had forgotten. This solved that problem. It conferred what her father had said, and Lilly-Anne had to hear it to say it back. "Stay close to Daddy, no being mean and be nice to everyone." Lilly-Anne said with a smile, but the smile as more of a Are you happy now? let me go kind of smile. Lilly-Anne sure could be a smart ass sometimes. But that's what made her cute, the little attitude. She though she was so big, but really she was anything but.
When the car rolled to a stop, and the car was put it park, she waited, knowing if she unbuckled herself to soon, she'd get punished and her Hannah Montana would be taken away. So once her daddy's door open, only then did she unbutton her seat belt, standing at the door. She was not strong enough to open it yet, anyway there was a child safety lock on it, so even if she tried the door would only open from the outside. Her backpack was slipped on her back, almost jumping with excitement. Her daddy could not move fast enough. First time to the park with Daddy. First time to the park really. Yeah her Auntie Alice would take her, but she was always there when no other kids were around. She was alone with her Auntie. So she was excited to see if people would be here at the park. Or if it would just be her and her daddy. Even if it was just her and her daddy, that would be totally fine with Lilly-Anne. Lilly-Anne did not get to spend all her time with her daddy, so any extra alone time was loved and welcomed by Lilly-Anne. As much as she loved her Auntie Alice, still, she loved her daddy just a little bit more.

- - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - -Once the car had rolled to a stop he turned off his phone and threw it into the messenger back (it had been hooked up, playing all of Lilly-Anne’s favorites on the drive over here) before unplugging the GPS and putting it into the middle console. He had had a break in a few months prior and someone busted his window and stole his GPS out of his car. He had learned the hard way not to ever leave anything valuable in sight for anyone to steal. The young man groaned when he realized he needed his phone again.
Chase dug through his messenger bag trying to find his iPhone, smiling in success when he found it. He shot a text to his older brother quickly, telling him that he would be out of cell phone reach for the next few hours as he had decided after the park he was taking Lilly-Anne to the aquarium…though she had no idea of that plan yet. Ever since the whole drama went on with their mother and Lilly-Anne, Sean and him had made sure to stay in constant communication as to keep each other updated on their lives. Also that way Sean could keep tabs on Lilly-Anne as well, something that Chase would be eternally grateful for.
Chase heaved himself out of the car before shutting the door behind him, the keys in his right side pocket while his phone was in his left side pocket. He made his way to her daughter's door and opened it up, smiling at her gently. He grabbed the messenger bag and set it down on the ground next to him before unbuckling his child and picking her up. He thought for a few seconds before setting Lilly-Anne on the ground next to him. The tall male quickly locked the doors before hauling the messenger bag across his chest.
"Want to walk or want me to carry you angel?"
He smiled when his little one giggled and shook her head, indicating she didn't want to be picked up. He squeezed his little girl’s hand gently before walking towards the field and put a blanket out. He quickly set out a few of Lilly-Anne's toys before turning away slightly to grab the messenger bag, to grab Lilly-Anne's sweater for her that way she didn't get chilly. After what she had been through recently she was still not up to her normal body weight.
Which reminded him, he needed to get her to eat breakfast. So once he had her sweater he began to rummage through the messenger bag, looking for her cereal that he had brought for her to eat.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- It had been a long day and it was a great day to be out. Lisa was just glad she could get Ben to come along with her. She missed spending time with her son. Sure she got to see him every day and every night but it wasn't really the same as actually spending time with him. Since they had gotten here Ben had a hard time getting use to it. He was pulled away from everything and everyone he knew. He is making friends now but that was to be expected. The sad thing is Ben is so cautious who he is friends with now ever since that mishap with the supernatural. Lisa is the same way. Sure Dean was there that time but you just never know.
A small sigh as she watched Ben play, than moving her gaze around. She noticed a small girl with such excitement on her face. It made Lisa smile, she remembered when Ben was like that. Those were the good old days. Not wanting to stare or seem weird she kept her gaze going. There were not too many kids out today but there were still plenty to play with. Lisa was sure more would come eventually.
Ben tossed his ball and it hit the rim and back board causing it to fly of of the courts. The park was small enough that if there were a lot of picnic blankets out some one might have gotten hit with the ball. Sometimes Ben stopped thinking about what he was doing and focused on other things, such as the past and Dean. Lisa watched as the ball rolled past her. It was far from her reach so she didn't try to stop it. she knew Ben would get it. "Ben you need to be more careful, there are small children around here. You don't want to hit one." Lisa's voice was firm but she was not really scolding him, it was more of a reminder as if next time your not careful you'll need to sit down.
"OK mom..." Ben new he should be more careful but he got a little mad when he couldn't always make the shot. He was a child it was something they did. He will get use to it and fix it all as he grows. Ben ran after the ball, not really sure how far it had gone. He didn't think he had thrown it that hard but he must have if it had gone further than where his mother had laid out the blanket. Than again the place wasn't huge so it also didn't really surprise him that it had gone far either.

The door was open quickly, and Lilly-Anne smiled at her father, holding her hand out to be picked up. Though when she found her self in her father's arm's she let out a small little squeal, reaching for the floor, her mind was changed. Lilly-Anne wanted to walk by herself like a big girl...well no she wanted to run! She for sure did not want to be held not right now. As much as she loved her daddy, some times she just wanted to be free to run around and play. If she were in her father's arm's there was only so much she could do. Shoot she could do nothing more then look and reach, if she were in her daddy's arms. Though it was safe, in his arm's she wanted to explore, as long as he was close she could always run back get a quick hug and some reassurance, before running off again.
Lilly-Anne of course ran a little far ahead, checking back to make sure her daddy was not that far behind. He of course was still by the car, but that did not stop here. She still ran. Running right past a boy with a basketball and his mother. Lilly-Anne did not even notice when her father started making up the blanket. Lilly-Anne went to a near by a tinny little puddle like thing at the bottom of a little river, over by a few trees and started to pick up different shinny rocks to show her daddy. It's not that she collected anything, she just liked giving her daddy gifts, no matter how pointless they may be. It just made her feel good to give him some things. It was the least she could do. She could hear some of her toys being spill out on the blanket, and she smiled softly. holding as many rocks as she could, she skipped back to the blanket. "Daddy!" She said jumping down, so she was sitting on the blanket in front of him, the rocks spilling from her arms. "Lookie. Pretty!" She said holding out one rock at a time, putting them on the blanket on front of her, one by one in a little line. Not even looking if her father was paying attention.
Once all the rocks were down on the blanket, she picked one up in the middle whipping it off with her hands, trying to clean it a little more. Though it was totally clean, more then that, it was shinny for water had ran over it for a few hundred years or so. But soon Lilly-Anne lost interest in her pretty rocks. For a few barbies sat un touched on the blanket, and she moved herself in-front of them. Her daddy really must have known how much she liked her dolls, for he always had a few on hand. She picked up the female barbie, whom was dressed in a sparkling dress, Typical Lilly-Anne, and put it by her daddy's feet, the other barbie, a male this time, she held. "I am gonna be the daddy. okay." She said, though it was really not up for discussion. That's how it was gonna be. She was gonna be the daddy and he the grand-mommy. She never played with mommy's dolls for she never had one, they were only grandmother barbies, or maybe auntie dolls(they were the nice one, Auntie dolls. G-mommy dolls did bad things to the little barbie dolls.) There was a lot to learn from how a child played. And Lilly-Anne let everything out in her play. When she was having a bad day you'd know by how she interacted with her barbies, and which animals she wanted to play with. Most of the things her grandmother did, her father found out by playing with Lily-Anne. It was pretty scary, but that's what the poor child had to go through.
Lilly-Anne holding the male barbie picked up one of the little kid barbie's. "Silly girl!" She said making the male barbie pretty much hop to the little kid barbie. "you need to eat your food. Daddy says so." Lilly-Anne said in her very best impression of her daddy, though it was no where close. But it was play after all. "I no wanting it!" She made the little barbie doll say, in a high pitched, girlie voice. As she continued playing by herself and the little barbie toys, she looked to her daddy to see if he was going to join in as the Auntie doll or the Grand-mommy doll. Whatever it was, depended on how mean the doll was to the other dolls.
But she saw something out of the corner of her eye come to rest just a foot behind her daddy's back. With out even thinking about it, the barbies fell from her hand as she looked at the orange ball that was a forth the size she was. Lilly-Anne with out a word got up and pretty much ran to the ball, no less then tackling it, giggling as she did so. Of course the round object did not stay still as she pounced on it, so off it rolled. Lilly-Anne now on her stomach ran after the ball, which was not too far away. In typical Lilly-Anne fashion she took the ball into her hands hugging it tightly. She wanted to play with the ball, and seeing as she found it, naturally it was now hers. At least in her mind it was hers. The whole sharing thing did not always go over very well with Lilly-Anne. But that was AJ's fault, seeing as he was a lot like her, he never shared, so yes AJ and Lilly-Anne would get into their little spoiled fits. The sad thing was AJ was 500 years old if not older, and he still could not learn to share poor guy, no wonder he was alone. Well that and he was a vampire. But that does not matter, what matters is that Lilly-Anne had her basketball, even know it was really big and she could not throw it to save her life, but it was still round and she could chase it. So she was happy. She turned to go back to show her daddy what she stole... Though she did not think she stole it. She saw it she wanted it and she took it, just like the rocks from the river.

- - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - - Chase Carter Wyatt was getting extremely frustrated. He couldn't find his daughter's food and he knew he packed it. He knew he was being ridiculous but after everything that had happened he needed to make sure his daughter was well cared for. While he was looking for his daughter's food his mind wandered. He couldn't believe his mother had left his daughter, his precious baby girl, alone in a car duck taped to her car seat. He was grateful and upset at the same time that it had been his brother, Sean, and his brother's girlfriend, Alice, had been the ones to find her. He knew that he would have killed his mother if he would have seen his child like that. He would never forget what she looked like five days after they had found her, so god knows what she looked like the day she was found.
He would never forget the nightmares that plagued his child night after night, and how every morning he would wake up with his four year old cuddled into his side because she was scared she was back at grandmas. Chase would never forgive himself for leaving her and he knew he didn't deserve her, though it was a gift he would happily accept.
Finally he pulled out his daughter's cereal and turned around with a triumphant smile on his face. Unfortunately his child was being difficult at the moment and refused to eat it. She was too intent on playing barbies so he set the food down and stood up to stretch his legs a bit. “Baby girl you need to stay right on the blanket.” He told her, making sure she was paying attention. “I’m going to run back to the car and grab my books. The car is right there.” He told her, pointing to the Hummer. “I will be able to see you at all times and if I can’t then we’re going home because that means you moved off of the blanket.” He told her seriously before waiting for her to nod that she understood.
He hated leaving her alone but it was for all of 20 seconds while he jogged to the car to grab his books. He definitely made it a short trip when he grabbed his books and then sprinted back. He quirked his eyebrow when he saw the orange ball in his child’s hand. The ball was almost as big as she was. “Baby doll where did you get the ball?” He asked her and waited for a response. He knew his daughter wasn’t the best when it came to sharing. She was a bit spoiled (Okay, a lot spoiled) so he knew that it probably belonged to someone else. She just wanted to play with it and since she didn’t have any siblings (thank god, he wasn’t sure he could handle two children at the age of 17) she didn’t really understand what it meant to have to ask someone to play with something. She was simply used to everything belonging to her.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Lisa watched as Ben's ball rolled past her and over to another little blanket where a man sat with his daughter. She smiled as she watched the little girl chase after Ben's ball, she was cute and little. It made Lisa wish Ben was that young again, but now he was almost a teenager and he was growing all the time. It seemed crazy how fast time had gone by. She let out a soft sigh as she looked over to Ben who was now just walking over to get his ball. It would be interesting to see how he acted with someone much younger than him, who might not fully grasp the concept of sharing or ownership of something. Ben was good with kids but Lisa doesn't ever remember him interacting with someone so young.
Ban made his way over to the other blanket, he stopped as he watched the little girl pounce on the ball and chase it a little. It was kind of funny really, the ball was just about twice the size of her. If he had a guess she was only like three maybe four. But he could be wrong. Guessing games weren't really his thing. Ben cleared his throat a little as he approached the dad instead of the little girl. He didn't want to scare her away or possibly make her cry, cause than he would feel bad. "Excuse, sir?" Ben wasn't really sure how to approach the situation.
Lisa smiled as she stood up and headed over to her son who seemed to be at a road block in asking for his ball back. As she got closer she noticed the dad was young, he couldn't possibly even be in his twenties. Yet Lisa could not judge, for all she knew he could be an amazing dad, not the type to go party all the time like most teens would be. Lisa reached her son and placed an arm around him. Nudging him forward. He should be the one to ask for his ball back since it was his after all. "May I please have my ball back?" It was the best Be could do, he didn't know this man and well his little girl had his ball. The only thing on his mind was making her cry because he wanted it back. You never know though, maybe she would give it back with no problem or want to play with him. Ben could probably share his ball if it made her happy. He would just need to be super gentle.

She was able to get a hold of the ball only after a while of trying. Though she was not really trying she just liked how it rolled away, and she was able to chase it. It was a fun little game, that her daddy did not have to be there to play. As much as she loved playing games with her daddy, she was an only child and had to figure out how to play on her own. Such games helped her. Running after a ball was fun for a while, but after a little while she got tired of the chase, so she'd be more careful and pick up the ball. It was pretty heavy at least for her, but she managed. As much as she tried her little hands could not wrap all the way around the ball, but at least she tried.
The ball was in her arm's but not very well, and she made her way back to the blanket where her father was waiting. Yes she did leave the blanket when he told her not to, but oh well. Fine they would go home, at least she got a cool new ball. Okay so she was pretty sure she could not keep it, but she wanted to so very bad. Her daddy normally made her put her rocks back in the river, so she figured the ball would be no different. At least she could play with it for a while. She put the ball on the blanket before she let herself sit down. By then a young boy came up to their blanket, but Lilly-Anne ignored him. She was too busy checking out her new toy. She had a barbie sitting on top of the ball, and she would giggle when the barbie would fall off. It was funny in her mind. She wanted to throw the ball and have her daddy go get it, but she had to wait for her daddy to be done talking to the nice little boy... and now lady person.

- - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - -He knew that the ball didn’t belong to her and he knew that she knew it as well. He was still working on teaching Lilly-Anne not to take things without asking but it was definitely a work in progress. She was only child and definitely had a large case of only child syndrome. Sean, Alice and he himself (along with AJ sometimes) had started leaving things around the house that belonged to them but knew that Lilly-Anne would find some way to place with. If she left it alone they would simply smile and leave it alone as well. If she took it they would sit her down and calmly explain how it was not nice to take things that didn’t belong to her. He knew she wasn’t really listening to them half the time but that was the way children learned, through repetition...and of course the occasional present for when she was having an extremely good day. Okay, he spoiled his daughter, oh well.
He noticed that his daughter was ignoring him and he was not impressed. They would definitely be talking about her attitude later as she knew not to ignore him. Before he could say something he heard a young boy’s voice. He turned towards it and noted a boy about 11 or 12. He heard him ask for his ball and he smiled apologetically. “Of course. Sorry, I’m Chase by the way and that one is Lilly-Anne. “ He motioned to his daughter before bending down in front of her. “Lilly-Anne Marie Wyatt, you know better than to take without asking…especially from someone you don’t know.” He told her and took the ball from where it had been on the blanket and handing it back to the young boy. “Sorry about that.” He told him before scooping Lilly-Anne up in his arms and turning towards what he was assuming was the boy’s mother.
“Hey, I’m Chase.” He told her, extending his hand out to her while holding Lilly-Anne firm on his hip with his other arm. “And this little nabber is Lilly-Anne.” He told her, though he knew he had just introduced himself to her son. He had always been taught to introduce himself directly to each person, especially when children were involved. He knew that a lot of adults (not that he really considered himself an adult though he guessed in all actuality he was) tended to talk down to most children and that was something he vowed never to do. In saying that he made sure to always try to get down to children’s level as he hated when he saw people trying to treat children as if they were stupid.
“Sorry about her stealing his ball. She’s an only child and is still learning what it means to ask before taking something.” He stated, though the last few words were drawn out, making it obvious he was talking more to Lilly-Anne at that moment than the woman in front of him, though he was still facing her and his eyes were still on hers.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Lisa smiled at that. She remembered what it was like when Ben was younger, he to was an only child so she knew pretty well what Chase was going through with the only child syndrome. It was still cute though in her eyes. Maybe because Ben was older now and knew better but still. "I'm Lisa, nice to meet you Chase, and Lilly-Anne." She pulled her hand up and shook Chase's. It was still a shock to just how young Chase looked. She wouldn't judge him though it wasn't who she was.
"thanks for my ball. I'm Ben." He gave a smile as he placed the ball on his hip so he could also shake Chase's hand. Ben knew how to be polite, whether he used was all on him though. Ben thought about it all for a second. He remembered when he did the same thing but with a different toy and how sad he was that he couldn't get to keep it. It made him wonder if Lilly-Anne would be sad to. Ben was a sweet kid and he always seemed to do things for others, maybe he did take after his mother more than Dean. "If Lilly-Anne isn't in too much trouble, I don't mind sharing my ball with her. Just as long as I can have it back before I go home." Ben tried to sound grown up even though he wasn't. He was only 12 but it was still cute how he tried.
It made Lisa smile. She felt good about what Ben did, made her feel as if she did teach Ben something good after all. No she knew Ben was a good kid and being the 'man' around the house when Dean was gone made him act more grown up than he was. Heck Ben wasn't even a teenager yet. But Lisa appreciated everything Ben did for her, even the small things were always really nice. Lisa was proud of Ben and he was going to grow up and be such an amazing man. Pulling herself back to earth she looked at Chase "So how old is Lilly-Anne?" Lisa had a good guess to her age but she still was curious.

Lilly-Anne was giggling to herself when she noticed her daddy move down to her level, sort of getting in her face... which was pretty much needed, or Lilly-Anne would ignore you. She never know if she was being talked to or about or what, so normally she just ignored you unless you got more in her face, or touched her or something. "No daddy...." Lilly-Anne said in response to her fathers question, trying to explain to him that she did not take anything, she found it. She found the ball she did not take it, she found it... She just found it... she did not know it was anyone. She saw it on the ground ran to pick it up, but she never saw anyone running after the ball, or she might have left it alone. She really did not know it was someones ball. If she were older she clearly would have assumed it belonged to someone, but she was very much stuck in her selfish stage of life. Everything was hers period. Even the ball that just sort of rolled towards her must belong to her. So when her father took it from it's place in front of her her eyes began to tear up as she watched the ball being given to the boy in front of the blanket. "No daddy" She tried again, unable to find the words she needed to explain her case.
But she knew it was a lost cause. He would not understand her even if she tried to tell him she found it, and that it was hers. Little tears were collecting in her sad eyes. She wanted the ball back, though she did not really want to cry over it, she was starting to think she was going to anyway. Lilly-Anne was a crier anyway, she cried over just about anything. You yell at her and she'd cry. Lilly-Anne is just a big old softy. But still she did not want to cry, no one wanted to cry.
Lilly-Anne eyed the ball for a little. When her daddy started to speak slower to her, even know he was not looking at her, she knew she was being talked to. Lilly-Anne said nothing. She just put her thumb in her mouth wearing her big old frown on her face. She still wanted to tell her daddy that she did not take the ball, that she found it, but no words came to her, so she just let her head rest on his shoulder, sucking her thumb, she'd get over it. She'd just need a little distracting that's all. It was never easy when a toy was taken from a little girl who wanted it oh so badly. Not that she did not have a hundred balls at home, this one was special because she found it. Just like her rocks. She found it, it was special for her. If she had though about other people, she would have realized it belonged to another person, but Lilly-Anne was unable to think like that. She would not get that skill for quite a while.

- - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - -He wouldn’t lie, he was nervous and he didn’t know why. Okay, so that was a lie, he knew why. Lilly-Anne was an angel when she wanted to be, and a brat when she wanted to be. He loved his child more than life itself, but she was definitely a handful. She was also extremely protective…well…protective wasn’t the right word. She was extremely territorial over what she claimed was hers, and in her mind, he belonged to her. Of course, this was actually true as his daughter owned him completely, being the only girl that he would ever need in his life. Women came and went but his daughter was his baby and he would do anything to make her happy.
One instance of this was the first time he had ever brought a date home with him. The timing was definitely not planned as he had never brought a date around his child before, though this was usually because he didn’t make it past one date with a woman. It wasn’t that he was picky, because he really wasn’t. He was a nice guy and could get along with most anyone. Unfortunately he seemed to get the airheads of the group and that was not acceptable to him. He was an intelligent guy and he wanted someone who could hold a conversation. He also tended to get women who there was no way in hell he would bring near his child. One of the women he went out on a date with blatantly told him that when they got married (again, this was a first date) that she would be shipping Lilly-Anne off to boarding school as she didn’t want to deal with a bastard child when they could have their own. That date didn’t last until the salads came before he just left her while she was in the restroom.
Chase tended to get distracted when he thought about the women he had dated for the sheer fact that one seemed to be worse than the next. However, the one woman that he actually got along with and they had gone on two dates ended up having to ride back to his house with him after he picked her up. He had grabbed the wrong concert tickets before leaving and had to run back by the house and get the right ones. Unfortunately he didn’t realize that his child was up past her bedtime and was waiting for him on the porch with Uncle Sean. He pulled into the driveway and stepped out and before he could say a word his daughter was clinging to his legs, begging him not to leave. When he picked her up she turned to the woman in his car and started screaming that he was her daddy and that she was ugly and mean and she hated her and more things that he was shocked that his daughter would say. Needless to say they didn’t speak after that event.
He shook his head, trying to clear his thoughts when he heard the woman’s voice introduce herself as Lisa and her son as Ben. He smiled at her son when he offered to play with Lilly-Anne and looked down at her. “Do you want to play with Ben little one?” He asked her, having no idea how she would respond. “You can play as long as you behave.” He told her, making eye contact with her as to make sure that she actually listened. He took her finger out of her mouth gently and smiled at her. “I’m not mad baby doll, I just wanted to make sure you knew that you need to ask before taking…or finding something. Most of the things that you find at a park like this that are toy wise usually belong to someone else okay?” He asked, and hoped that she understood.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ben smiled at the little girl, he didn't want to see her cry. Well he honestly didn't want to see anyone cry, and it always seemed to be worse when they were female and well he wasn't quit sure why that was. Ben still had a lot of growing up to do as well. He was very smart for his age but somethings you only learn through experience not in school. he would find out one of these days but as of right now getting one girl to not cry was a nice goal to have. He played with the ball in his arms, just moving it back and forth, he was a child after all and so it was a bit hard for him to just stand there while there was a huge park behind him waiting to be tackled and explored. He was doing good so far though, maybe it was because he was actually involved in a semi adult conversation.
Lisa looked over to Ben and gave him a gentle smile. He was being very kind right now, although Lisa was a little worried about him playing with someone much smaller than he was... She just didn't want him to hurt her by accident. He would have to play extremely gently with her and understand that she doesn't know a lot of things such as some rules to a game or something because she was still very young and as it seemed to still be in the learning process of figuring these out. Lisa was sure he would be able to be careful but it was still something she was going to emphasize on. With that she turned to him giving him her full attention and making him give her all of his as well.
"Ben if you are going to play with Lilly-Anne you need to be extra careful. Ok?" she was serious, the last thing anyone would want was for her to get hurt not to mention Ben would probably feel terrible if she did get hurt so Lisa just wanted to avoid the whole situation by telling him what he needed to do. Of course Ben already knew this and so to him she was just repeating herself over and over again. "I understand mom. I will be careful promise." He gave her a small smile even though he just wanted to run off and go play.

Lily-Anne had no response for her daddy's first question. Did she want to play with Ben? Well she guessed she could. She really just wanted to play with the ball. But seeing as Ben was holding the ball, she'd have to get it from him some how. Lilly-Anne was smart and she knew she could get it back. Not that she was going to run away and steal it or anything. She just wanted it. She liked the bumps on the ball and she liked that it was so big, but she could still carry it. Made her feel more like her daddy carrying big things. Then again everything is a big thing for her.
Like when they were moving Lilly-Anne saw her daddy lifting big things and moving from the truck to the house. So what does Lilly-Anne do? She tried to help, starting with the biggest thing she could locate that 'belonged to her', this happened to be her grown up bed. It was in the truck all wrapped up in plastic, and here she was trying her very hardest to lift it up, of course the mattress did not move an inch. Her father found her minutes later, and put her to work. Though it was almost more work letting Lilly-Anne help, but it made her happy and kept her busy. Basically Chase opened one of her boxes that were filled with stuffed animals and dolls. Chase would hand her as much stuff as her arms would allow and tell her to put it in her room. He'd follow with a bunch of stuff. But of course Lilly-Anne drooped some crap and she'd have to go pick it up and she'd leave things in the middle of the floor, even know he told her not to. Lilly-Anne just wanted to get things in the house, she did not understand the danger part of it. But again at least it kept her happy and busy. Yes it was more work, but it was less of a headache. Seeing as before she started helping she wanted attention so she'd cry and want nothing more then her daddy to play with her. It was a mess. At least until Lilly-Anne started to try and mimic her daddy.
She figured she might as well play with Ben. Maybe he could play baby, and she could play mommy. Her daddy never really liked playing baby, but maybe Ben would. It would not hurt to ask. Of course she had to build back up the courage to do so. Lilly-Anne was never good with getting in trouble. She took it one of two ways. She would be really mad and be quite the little devil, or she'd do this. She'd be quiet with her thumb in her mouth, she'd cling and be really sorry and pathetic looking. She was apparently in a good mood, seeing as this was clearly the better and more liked option. Chase would have had to take her home if it were the other way. But she'd behave. Or she'd try to, but every kid gets frustrated when communication is misunderstood. Seeing as Lilly-Anne was still learning how to talk, and learning to use her words and ask for what she want's sometimes fights happen, and sometimes Lilly-Anne get's upset. It happens. But she'd try to be good. It's not like she wanted to be bad.
Her thumb was gently pulled from her mouth, and she frowned a little more. It was her way of self soothing, making herself feel better, sucking on her thumb that is. so when her comfort was taken away Lilly-Anne did not like that. She normally would have whacked at his hand and screamed no once or twice, but she was already in enough trouble so she just had her frownie face on. But still she said nothing. Once she was sure her daddy was done talking she reached her hand down, clearly wanting to be put down so she could go off and play. If she did not want to play, you better believe her hands would be wrapped around her daddy's neck in a death grip. If she did not want to go, god help anyone who tried to make her. This little girl had one of the strongest wills ever. She would even hold her breath until she passed out if she was pissed off enough. Of course that behavior was put to a stop immediately, so she does not do it anymore. But there was a time. Yep, Lilly-Anne has come quite far since the day's spend with her grandmother.
