- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Sure. Castiel had thought of himself as the Winchester's guardian. He would keep them safe, and now that Dean had asked him for help to protect Lisa and Ben, well, Castiel would do everything in his power to do so. More than anything, Castiel saw Dean as his friend, and that was what really mattered, wasn't it? Now, the conversation had been directed more toward himself as opposed to just between the two of them. Then the pat on the shoulder... Castiel had to admit that he wasn't all keen on being touched, but then, Giselle hugged him all the time so that sort of thing wasn't that big of a deal. He wasn't, say, Raphael or Uriel. Castiel was what people would call a 'nice' guy.
Dean had told Castiel not to read people's minds but he did briefly. Not that she'd know, however, Castiel was astonished that she had come to the correct conclusion that he was indeed an angel. Well, if only she knew. He wouldn't say it unless Dean mentioned it. The angel knew that it wasn't exactly common place for people to just out that they are things like demons or angels. “Thank you,” Castiel said in a congenial tone. He was honestly unsure of what to say at this point. His social skills needed work that was for sure, but he was learning them slowly. He kind of was like a fish out of water here, and even in heaven, it was bothersome really.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Dean was happy to hear that Ben was doing alright, Dean had really missed him a lot. “Well that great that he is doing ok, and yeah I’m sorry I do need to call him and I will soon. So what is the good news he has? don’t worry I will act surprised when he tells me.” Dean said to Lisa with a bit of giggle. He just wanted to know what Ben had been up to, He really missed hanging with him, playing ball and working on the care even. But Dean has just been so caught up with everything going on in Mystic Falls, he barley even has time to shower or even rest anymore. Parts of him just wants to say forget the town and go live with them, but as much as he wants to sadly he cant.
Dean then listen as Lisa told them why they were there, which did have Dean worried. Lisa should be at home were it is safe, but Dean knows she cant just stay in the house all the time, she would go nuts. “Well babe I’m happy that you are being safe and I’m glad you are ok” Dean knew she was for sure safe if she was with Castiel nothing would happen to her. Because if something did happened to her, Castiel knew Dean would kick his ass right in to next week. Dean then looked over at Castiel and smiled, then looked back at Lisa and said “This is a great guy for sure he will keep you safe, trust me. Hell if wasn’t for him I would still be rotting in hell, or maybe even dead. Cass is more then just a friend he is family” Dean then looked back to Castile and said “isn’t that right Cass?”

---------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------------- It was getting to be really late, not that Lisa minded too much since she was here with Dean and that made her happy. Still she was not one to be out all night especially with weirdos running around or monsters. Lisa could handle the creeps better than some monster with powers, she was only human and had no training what so ever on how to deal with these things... It was nice to have people she could trust around if she was going to stay out late that way she didn't have to feel alone or watched. Lisa's mind kind of trailed off into her own thoughts instead of paying attention to those she was actually talking with. Her mind has been so busy lately it has been hard to focus. Snapping out of it she looked to Dean and smiled.
"Ben has been trying out for sports left and right. He made the football team. He was so excited. He did it for you." Lisa wasn't sure if she should have told him that part she really didn't want him to feel bad but it was the truth and Lisa was known for always telling the truth whether it hurt someone or not. She never wanted to be a liar than no one would ever trust her. She kissed him gently on the lips and ran her fingers over his cheeks. Lisa didn't want to be rude and leave Castiel out so she turned to him. Not really sure what to say, it was always hard meeting new people because you never know what they are like and how they might react to something you say. He was probably fine with what ever she decided to talk about, he did after all hang out with Dean and everyone knew he wasn't always the most charming person in the world.
"I am glad you have such a good friend to help you and protect you." Lisa was talking to dean about Castiel. She was great full for him. If it hadn't been for Castiel than she wouldn't have Dean today and having Dean was one of the most important things in her life other than her son of course. "So if your going to be protecting me and Ben does that mean you will be around more often or just kind of lurking in the shadows?" Lisa wasn't really sure how this all was suppose to happen because she has never had to deal with it. She probably sounded a bit dumb for asking but she was curious. Plus if he were to be around more often she would make more food and a place in the house for him.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Not once did the angel ever think that Dean had considered him part of his family. It was a thing that he hadn't thought that would happen. If anything Castiel thought himself a burden to his friends. Especially the previous year when he was very much useless as an angel. However, it was wonderful to hear anyway. After all, Castiel had forsaken his own family to help Dean keep his together. That was what the civil war in heaven was over wasn't it? To protect them? To protect freedom? Castiel had heard it on occasion that he was an idealist to think that there would ever be peace, but to him, that was all the more reason to fight for it. “Yes, we have been through much, I guess you could say, that we kind of are like brothers or something like that,” he replied to Dean's 'isn't that right' type of remark.
Castiel certainly did think of himself as the Winchesters' guardian... what a prideful way to view himself. If only Lisa knew the lengths that Castiel had gone through to protect Dean and his brother. Perhaps she knew? Would Dean had mentioned that he was the one who had raised him from perdition? Castiel doubted it, and he wouldn't be so boastful about it. If the subject came up then would Castiel actually say something about it. That was a good question. Though chances were that Castiel would put up a few Enochian sigils on the Braeden home, and leave it at that. He did want to protect them since they were so important to Dean, and he promised to keep them safe. “I'm an angel of the Lord, I'll do, what is necessary to keep you and Ben safe,” Castiel said in a sincere tone.

- - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - Dean was happy to hear that Ben had joined the football team, but also a little sad. Dean was upset that he couldn’t be there for him to helping him train, watching his games and rooting him on. Dean knew Ben had joined for him too right when Lisa told him about it, Dean had been telling Ben he would make a good football player. They played all the time together after Ben would get home from school, “ the kid is great at throwing that ball man! He is going be star on that team Lisa, I just know it.” Dean said to Lisa before he kissed her back gently on her lips. Dean held Lisa tightly while he kissed her, he didn’t get kiss her and hold her very often so when he did he cherished every moment of it that he could.
Dean knew this had to be a bit awkward for Castiel, him just standing there while they kissed. But Dean was loving every God giving moment of this and he didn’t want to stop. After he let up from the kiss he looked Lisa deep in the eyes and said “ God I miss you guys so much, Soon I will come home to stay with you guys for a few days. Maybe we can even go to watch one of Ben’s game’s, how does that sound baby?” Dean knew that would make Lisa happy, Dean just didn’t know when he would be able to get a break from his crazy life to do it. He hoped soon.
Lisa then said something about how great it was to have a friend to watch over him, “Yeah me and Cass have some good times that is for sure!I could tell you a bunch of funny stores we have, good times.” Dean said laughing at bit with Castiel. “Yeah don’t worry Cass will watch over you and Ben, and no he wont scare you guys like he does me. isn’t that right Cass!” Dean looks over at Castiel. “You need to stop just showing up randomly with out warning Cass, ok try to work on that, it can be creepy at times.” Dean said to Castiel with a smile.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Lisa smiled softly at him, she knew that it hurt him that he couldn't be there for Ben to cheer him on, or help him practice. He was too busy at the moment and as much as Lisa hated to admit it, she didn't like it either. It kept him from calling, or seeing them and it was hard. Sure you could say she was being selfish but Dean was her lover it was only natural to miss and want him around more often than he was. Anyone could understand that. But Lisa was strong and she would get through it. He will be home to her one of these days and she looked forward to that day. "He is great at it. I will be sure to get it on camera for you." Her eyes smiled for her. She was always happy when Dean was around, he made her feel like a giddy school girl all the time which was strange considering Lisa was almost in her thirties.
"I will look forward to that. I will hold you to it!" Lisa meant it to. He was not allowed to die or anything until she got to see him for a little while. She didn't want him dying at all but everyone is born to die one way or another, she just wanted to be there with him before that happened. Ben would want to be there to. That kid loved him more than anything in his world. Dean was the first male role model Ben had, he was his father figure and he cherished that everyday whether or not Dean was there. It made Lisa happy to see that the boys loved each other so much. It was a good feeling for a mother to know that her son had a father that was willing to be there for him when he was needed. Lisa knew no matter what Dean would be there for Ben one way or another.
"I would love to hear some of these stories sometime." Lisa laughed a little. She looked around the area. Night was almost gone. Lisa laughed a little at Dean. It really did seem like those two were really close, almost like brothers. It was good to know Dean had someone else out there he could depend on in any kind of situation. Lisa cleared her throat... It was late and she needed to go. She needed to be up and away when Ben got home from his friends house, and she was sure Dean was exhausted and would like some sleep to. She looked at Castiel and than at Dean "Baby I think it is time for me to head off. The night is almost gone and I must be awake when Ben gets home. I love you." Lisa looked him in the eyes when she talked. She hated to have to say goodbye but it was needed. She would always see him again.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - The vast majority of those funny stories happened to be at Castiel's expense. After all they did have some amusing times together, though it was Castiel's own social inadequacies that brought them about. “Yes, funny stories,” Castiel repeated, not necessarily in agreement with Dean. By human terms it certainly was getting late. It didn't really matter to Castiel, even if he did know that humans weren't immortal like himself, and they had physical limits. He knew full well that Lisa really should be getting home anyway. “I'll be sure to check in on you every so often,” the angel said. Yes, he was definitely going to do everything in his power to keep these people safe. He knew how much they meant to Dean and Castiel would see to it that they were kept safe and sound.
“I suppose we should allow you to return home,” Castiel said, “it should be safe right now.” The seraph sensed nothing dangerous in the vicinity. That was a good thing for sure. He knew that it wouldn't be good if she had gotten hurt. The lengths Castiel went through to keep his human friends safe. Granted Lisa was only an acquaintance at this time, but the angel looked at it through the human saying that a friend of his friend was a friend of his, or some other odd logic like that. It was at this time that Castiel said his good byes(even if he was terrible at those), and 'zapped' Dean back to the hotel room.
