Stray strands of hair whipped across Sophia face as she jogged down the beach. She was out for her morning run but it had turned to a bit of a jog. She was actually enjoying the sound of the waves crashing on the beach. It was calming her she had been so on edge lately she had not let herself relax. She was so intent on find the vampire that killed her parents recently and so many dead ends it was starting to drive her mad. Sure, she had tracked a demon down but it was just to keep herself busy. She had not gotten anywhere on finding the vampire that killed her mother before her eyes.
Sophia shoved he painful thoughts aside as she ran. She wore black yoga pant and a fitted neon blue tank top. Maybe she needed to take a step back from this whole hunting thing. But she knew that was a fleeting thought she was a determined individual and was not going to quit. But for a moment it was nice to just get lost in the sound of the waves. The beach was practically empty. She liked it. Sophia was always one for solitude.
Her bright blue eyes fixated on the path ahead a rocky area. Looked almost like caves. She continued her pace towards them. Her interest was peaked they would make for a good climb or she could investigate. Regardless her pace slowed and she slipped of her running shoes and socks and felt her bare feet on the sand. A smile slipped across her face. She wiggled her toes getting the sand between them. She felt her worries leave her even if it was for an instant.

----------------------- ----------------------- Waking early Kipp pulled on his running shorts, strapped his heart rate monitor around his chest. Then began to make the climb over the rocks, running was the only thing he had now, it was what he did nearly all day every day. It was the only thing he did now, that was able to clear his head, and though it didn’t make him forget about who he was, when he ran he didn’t need to think about that, because it was like he was succeeding to outrun his past; which of course he would never be able to do.
That was when he saw her, a young brunette with long brown hair. She was certainly attractive, and the type of girl would be able to have her pick of men in any club. But she was also climbing the rocks; she was getting too near to his secret cave. His cave wasn’t so secret, that was just what he said, because nobody bothered him there so it was like his own sanctuary. But he couldn’t allow her to stumble upon it; since it was entirely possible she would be able to find it. Kipp knew that he would have to do something that he would regret; he knew that calling out to her, was the last thing that he wanted, but he had to try and change her direction.
“Hey, you over there what are you doing?” Kipp called out, making his way over to the girl at a light jog. Actually speaking to somebody, wasn’t what he had planned to do today. But even still, Kipp did his best to act the friendliness he could. Hopefully she would hate him. At least then it would be easy to make her leave.

Sophia started climbing the rocks slowly yet surely finding a smooth rhythm to move to. She was oddly not worried about getting cut or anything. It was something she could handle easily. Sophia smiled as she seemed to be closer toward a plateau of sorts she could stand on. This morning was certainly turning into quite the adventure for her. Not to mention a wonderful work out. God when was this town going to get a full on gym. Sophia decided this beach would be her new place to run every morning. ill she grew tired of it or it had to many people on it. She liked the sound of the waves and a good climb every now and then would keep her fit.
Just what the hunter would need to keep in shape. She was starting to like this town more and more now to just make a few friends and she would be good to go. But that was the difficult part for her she was not one to go out to bars and such. But maybe it was about time she did. She was old enough after all what was keeping her. Her duty? She knew that was just her excuse to keep her from talking to someone and actually getting to know them. Hunting was her main goal in life. Finding the murderer of her parents. She did not want anyone else to get close to her so they could die as well.
But her thoughts were interrupted by someone yelling at her. Sophia whipped her head around looking for who it came from. But just as she did her foot side and a yelp escaped her and both her feet were dangling. Her hands immediately gripped harshly onto the rocks hey were holding to keep her from falling. She bite her lip in pain as she felt a rock cut into one of her hands. She did her best to try and have at least one of her feet find traction. She did not want to fall. After all she was so close to her goal. Who the hell had yelled a her. Bu she knew it was her own fault she was in this predicament. Another squeal escaped her as her feet could not find a place to hold onto safely. She was in full on panic mode she just need to calm down and she would be fine. She was just freaking out to much to focus.

----------------------- ----------------------- He should just leave the girl to her own activities; he didn’t care what she did. However he did care, if she stumbled upon his cave, there was no way he was going to allow that to happen. His cave was his sanctuary, he didn’t live in an apartment like his sister, because he didn’t like people, this suited him fine because in return people didn’t like him. Everything was how it should be, well, besides of course those two girls who were an exception, Lilly-Beth and Ruby where their names, but he knew that they were two stubborn for their own good.
Most of the time, Kipp only needed a few moments alone with somebody, to get them to hate him, he was determined that this one would be no different, it was all he deserved anyway. For everything that he has done, he was going to be doing her a favor. Since as she as she got to know who he was, or even what he was, that was more trouble then she would be after. Of course Kipp thought of everybody as the same, but that’s only because he has hurt too many people, he has given up and has convinced himself that he can’t be around anyone.
His formula for getting somebody to hate him was always the same. It also didn’t take much thinking, act like the biggest ass he could. From experience people generally hated that, and since it worked for most people, Kipp wasn’t going to change it; there was no point in mixing it up, even for a change.
Then her foot slipped and Kipp heard the girl cry out in panic. Come on; don’t do this to me Kipp thought as he ran to help her. He hadn’t wanted to startle the woman, she was becoming increasingly more nervous, how she wasn’t able to place her feet to steady herself.
Reaching the rocks, he wasn’t too good of a climber Kipp realized. But parkour was a new art he had only recently got into, he hoped he had enough balance to help the girl. He began climbing the rocks, making sure to go slow enough to pick the good rocks. As it happened, his parkour training did help, as Kipp finally reached the young woman.
Placing his arm around her waist, as his other help himself up on the rocks he spoke clearly in his South African—Australian accent. “Think you can get your feet back on?” He didn’t really want to help, and perhaps this attitude was showing through.

Sophia felt like such a fool in this moment. She was not one to play the damsel in distress. She was suppose to be on the other end of this. Sophia knew she would be cursing herself over this debacle for the next week. Not to mention the damage she could feel the rock doing to her hand. Like she needed the constant reminder of what an idiot she could be. Sophia continued to struggle not willing to give up even though her strength would only last her so long.
Sophia did not noticed the guy coming to help her till he was beside her on the rocks. She felt the warmth of his arm around her waist. In that moment she felt secure. Sophia was surprised by his voice where was he from. But she shoved her thoughts aside and she calmed herself down and found places for her feet. A sigh of relief went through her as she found them. Sophia leaned her head against the rocks for a moment taking a moment to breath. When she opened her eyes she gingerly removed her left hand from where she had been holding on so tightly to look at it. She quickly assessed the damage as a small stream of blood ran across her palm. she closed her hand and held it to her chest.
Sophia bright eyes finally looked to the man who had helped her. She realized how rude it had seemed her silence. Sophia was not used to being social with other. It was something she was working on. "Thanks." she muttered looking away. She was utterly embarrassed she had needed help in the first place. "I should finish what I started."she said feeling awkward as she looked up. "Almost to the top." she said reaching her injured hand up to grip a new rock but sopped hissing pulling it back to her chest the pain had surprised. she usually was pretty good with pain management. "God I'm such an idiot." she said to herself.
Sophia bright eyes looked to the guy beside her again finally taking him in. She focused in on his eyes unsure of him. He was hot that was for sure. But she knew never to judge someone by their looks. "Who are you?" she asked realizing she sounded impolite. "Sorry, I'm not great with talking to people." she uttered looking away.

----------------------- ----------------------- Usually Kipp would never help anybody. But he felt partly responsible for the girl’s current predicament. If he hadn’t yelled out to her, then she probably wouldn’t have slipped. The guilt that he was feeling now, he so didn’t need more of, so there was only one option he really had. It shouldn’t be too hard, and once he helped her regain her footing then he would be able to leave the girl to her own dealings. It was his own fault, if he hadn’t been so scared that she might have stumbled upon his cave; then she wouldn’t be her current mess.
No doubt she would be curious about his accent; Kipp found most girls were. Rightfully so though, since most of the few people he has met, have all been American. He kept his arm around her, and only taking it away once he was confident that the girl had her feet back on the rocks. Kipp did admire her, although, he really did admire anybody who was fit and athletic. Climbing was something that was hard to do, so she needed be ashamed especially since it had been his fault anyhow.
Kipp didn’t mind silence, he actually preferred it. He certainly didn’t need her to thanks, Kipp preferred that she wouldn’t. He would never be able to accept it, after all the wrong that he has caused, somebody thanking him was the last thing that he deserved. Of course then he heard the girl mutter her thanks, as he went on wishing that they could continue being quite, he found it much easier being around people; although Kipp had never been much for the whole social thing. “Don’t thank me.” He simply stated, because of how indifferent his tone was it may have come off as rude.
Of course Kipp didn’t care what people thought of him, let alone some girl. Nonetheless he tried again, “I mean, it was my fault you lost balance.” He said as he tried taking the blame for her. After all the pain he has caused, Kipp allowed himself to admit, that it was nice to give somebody a hand. Although he knew that she didn’t, he was wondering that if he had just passed the girl on by, if she might have been able to right her footing herself.
“I’m nobody.” Kipp answered, as he wondered how bad her hand was. He hadn’t thought that it was too bad, however the way she had pulled away after grabbing a new rock spoke otherwise. “Maybe I should climb up for; that way you can grab me instead of something sharp?”
