He really did think he could live here, he thought he could settle down and find a job and if Liz and him were meant to find each other then they would somehow do that, he truly believed that. So this town could easily find secrets...that was one thing Ma didn't want, people knowing where he came from, he'd make sure no one found out, he would keep to himself and not draw suspicion to himself, he didn't want the FBI getting some call from Richmond explaining weird activities. "I'll keep that in mind," he told the blonde woman keeping note of it, he wouldn't forget it. It seemed as if she was trying to help the two men which made Max trust her just a little bit more, not too much though. He wondered if she had a secret that she was keeping from this town or maybe the whole town already knew her secret...what exactly did she mean by it though?
Max didn't know why Michael was being so trusting of this woman, revealing their names but maybe he should just support his friend...he had trouble doing that from time to time. Max usually wanted it his way but because his way got nobody hurt. He was a stubborn one sometimes and he for now he would try and trust this woman, but not entirely. Sure, she seemed nice enough but he still didn't know a lot about her, he didn't know what her motive was or who she really was. He just felt off and felt like she was hiding something so he couldn't one hundred percent trust her. He just hoped that she was no danger because Max really didn't want to go back to running away and hiding, he was tired of traveling and he wanted nothing more than to stay in one town and have a semi-happy life.
He wondered how old the girl was but he figured she wouldn't tell him, it seemed as if she was hinting at something but he wasn't going to press further with that subject. "Bye," he told the woman. "It was nice meeting you too," he didn't want her thinking he hated her or something, he was just really suspicious and he just couldn't trust easily. Maybe in the near future he could get to know the woman better but for now he had other issues to deal with. One of them being his friend who told the woman their names even though there could be hundreds of Michaels and Maxs but still, the fact that he was just being so calm about it just made the man upset. But Max was also happy to see him, he wouldn't take that factor out, seeing a familiar face, one he had known since he was a kid, made the man smile.
He turned to Michael, "It's been a long time," he told his friend feeling really happy to see him but upset that he didn't tell him he was here until now. "Why didn't you tell me you were here?" He asked wanting some answers finally. The two could finally talk normally as the girl was gone which he made sure of when he watched her walked away and looking through the woods with his eyes to see if she was hiding anyway, even though it was dark. He was just glad, the two had finally been able to make contact, they could have that friendship they had all those years ago...maybe even a better one. He just hoped his friend was as happy to see him even though Max was still a bit upset. "If you told me...I would have taken more precautions, what if they were following you Michael?" He said in a lecture tone.
