----------------------- [/b] Chelcie had just pulled up to the curb of Mid Rivers; a new town that she hadn’t realized was so close to Richmond. She felt like Harper would want her to check out the town, well she knew that he definitely would not be happy if she just left it, and after seeing how overrun both Richmond and Mystic Falls were, Chelcie had no doubt that Mid Rivers would be the same. It was only natural that the town was just as bad as the other too, causing Chelcie to wonder how naive the town’s people could be, nobody could be that naive; could they? She supposed it wasn’t really any of their faults though; she had been the same confused and quite frankly scared person, when Harper had told her up everything, even still there was still a small part that did not fully believe.
She wouldn’t spend too long in Mid Rivers, it was already starting to get late and she was usually early to bed. Chelcie would probably only do a few laps of the streets, before heading back to Richmond, unless there was something out of the ordinary, judging by how badly both Richmond and Mystic Falls were overrun; there was a high possibility of that happening. Weird though, because with just how many creatures of the dark were in the three towns—she assumed Mid Rivers was no different, Chelcie would have thought that there was no way, for any creature of folklore to hide its self.
Stepping from a small alley, Chelcie began walking down a main road, to another place she decided to check. A small blonde out at night time, she was relying on the terrible cliché, Chelcie had so been waiting to see some action, and she was beginning to get agitated. Were all the vampires and other demons of the dark hiding, weren’t the towns folks supposed to be scared of them; not the other way around?

Oz went to Mid Rivers that afternoon to go to the guitar shop in the mall. He needed to restring his bass for the upcoming gig and get some new guitar picks as well. The trip took longer then expected, and by the time he got to the shop, it was almost closed. Thankfully the owner allowed him to shop a little bit before checking him out. By the time Oz got outside, his new strings and picks in hand, it was already night time. Oz decided to check out the local bar while he was here and headed that way to see what it was like.
It was nothing special, same as every other bar he had ever been to, Oz ordered a soda, as he couldn't have any alcohol as he had to drive home shortly. Oz had a lot on his mind these days. Firstly, he had to worry about the upcoming gig and if he still had it or not. Then there was Jade and his new, young relationship with her, wondering if things were gonna work out between them, he hoped so, he wanted it to, but wanting and hoping didn't always mean that it was gonna be a sure thing, who knows, she might decide she wants to be with someone else.
Then there was Willow, and breaking the news to her that Oz was seeing someone would be heartbreaking, but he had to tell her sooner or later, she was one of his bestest friends, and she deserved to know the truth about what was going on in his life. He has been able to keep it out of their texts so far, but it was gonna come out sooner or later. He drank his drink and left the bar, spotting a blonde walking down the street. It was getting late, and it was probably a bad thing for her to be walking on her own. Oz was thankful that this wasn't Richmond, as that place was crawling with Vampires.
He turned to walk away when he heard a commotion in an alleyway behind him. He turned to see what was going on.

----------------------- [/b] Even if the night didn’t turn out to be interesting, Chelcie was grateful for the walk which she needed, the night was calm and there was a cool breeze flowing through her hair. Perhaps another day she might be able to come in the daytime, when the towns lively and check out a few of the stores, or maybe Chelcie can check out a few of the bars, she needed another hang spot, she still hasn’t had time to get use to living in a small town like Richmond. Chelcie also didn’t think that she would ever miss San Francisco, as much as she was starting to, even though on most days, the amount of people annoyed her, there was still a whole lot more to do, then in Richmond.
The walk was doing her good, lately Chelcie had been finding herself growing more frustrated; mostly toward her self—but frustrated nonetheless. She still knew little of the vampires plaguing Richmond, and even less of the one vampire she was searching for, though now she was certain that the vampire was a guy, how hard does revenge have to be, it’s only one disgusting bloodsucker! Chelcie though, giving herself a little mental pep talk, reminding herself of all the reasons why she hated the creatures.
As Chelcie passed another dark alley by, she heard a scream, it was definitely a woman screaming. Her first thought was that it was a mugging, a normal thought and something most would think of first, knowing that she was able to handle some petty mugging, Chelcie took off at a run down the alley, “hey, stop I don’t want to hurt you!” She called out arriving at the scene, at the this point Chelcie didn’t know that the man was a vampire, nor did she really care much if she hurt a petty thief—then he tried to bite the girl. “Fuck, can’t normal mugger crimes happen for once?” she said muttering under her breath.

Heading down the alley, Oz found a women getting attacked by a vampire. A 2nd women approached the scene on the other end of the alley. Oz ran up to the vampire and attempted to pull him off of the first girl, not wanting to watch her die tonight. Oz was thrown backwords into a trashcan. Oz felt himself getting upset and he didn't like the pain that he was now being put into. Oz decided that if he did allow himself to turn, sure he would probably stop the vampire, but then he himself would end up attacking the two women anyways.
So he had to stop himself. It took everything Oz had in him not to turn into a werewolf right then and there, he took out the stake he had in his back pocket, Buffy always told him to take one with him and approached the vampire again, pulling him off the girl once more. "Run." He told the girl, who did so, the 2nd girl was still there and Oz attempted to stake the vampire again, but the stake was knocked out of his hand. Oz was tripped up by something and he began to crawl backwords, so this is how it was gonna end, at the hands of a vampire.
Oz found his footing long enough to get up however and he went to grab at his stake, but the vampire kicked it away towards the girl and grabbed Oz around the neck, lifting him up high into the air and squeezing on his neck. "Time to die wolfie. To bad you couldn't transform." The vampire taunted him, it was only a matter of time before the vampire crushed Oz's neck and threw him down dead on the ground and turned his sight on the girl, killing her too.

----------------------- [/b] Chelcie watched the scene, deciding when to jump in—literally as the case may be, the man seemed far stronger then she was. She would do everything she could think of, before pulling her and gun, her knife should suffice for a simple mugging—or what she believed to be a simple mugging. Chelcie still couldn’t see what the man was doing, or maybe she just didn’t understand. Her mind hadn’t yet come to terms with him being a vampire, a problem that since beginning her training; she always has had. That could just be waved off as inexperience however, how Chelcie has yet to be able to learn how to identify a vampire on sight, hopefully that would only take time.
A man appeared at the other end of the alley, though he was too far for Chelcie to get any of his appearance. He did seem short though, the man seemed to stand at the same height she did, whether she was thrilled with his appearance, she did not know, a simple mugging Chelcie should have no trouble handling. But she would never turn down help; the mugger did look like a solid man, between the both of them though, they should have enough strength to take on the attacker.
He seemed like a strong guy, and at one point Chelcie thought that he would be able to throw the thug from the frightened girl. When he told the scared girl to run, Chelcie made sure she was ready to help the girl escape—“hurry we have to be quick.” Chelcie said wrapping the girl’s arm around her neck, and her own around the girl’s shoulders. If luck was on their side, the man fighting the failed mugger should be able to handle things with the thug, as she helped the girl to the end of the alley, and making sure she didn’t trip or hurt herself.
Once Chelcie returned it was as she had feared, the thug had been stronger then she had believed him to be. Fuck, Chelcie cursed herself for leaving the fight one on one, she should have stood with the other man, also trying to stop the thug, the failed mugger had him in the air and by the throat, the man’s feet dangling uselessly just above the ground.
Pulling the knife from her back pocket, with all the strength she could Chelcie ran to aid the man in trouble. If she was able, Chelcie would stamp on the back of the thug’s knee, bringing him down to more of a similar height to her, where she would be able to plunge her knife into his back. The failed and now angry mugger was apparently observant as well as strong, because seemingly with eyes in the back of his head, he swung a strong left fist into her cheek; sending Chelcie off balance to his side. The Thug was also quick, dropping the other man and throwing her into a group of nearby trashcans, sauntering over, as Chelcie lay in the trash.

The thought of dying was never really in his mind. He thought about his friends, who he finally reunited with. How he would miss even more with them. How he would miss the trip to Disney World, how he would miss Buffy and Angel's wedding that was sure to come some day rather they would like to admit it or not. How he would miss Xander... actually getting a real girlfriend and that girlfriend actually wanted to hang with them and wasn't worried their rep would be ruined. How he just met Jade and hasn't had enough time with her yet. Worst of all, Willow, how she would probably cry the hardest at his funeral out of all of them.
Those were the thoughts going through his mind as he found it increasingly harder to breathe, he found his eyelids getting heavy and he couldn't keep them open any longer and then... the icy grip was released from his neck and Oz fell to the ground with an audible thud that they probably heard in New Jersey. He gagged for air and somehow his hand found his wayward stake and he stood up, he could of sworn he heard a crash into some garbage cans but was unaware of what happened or who saved him from his demise, but with renewed vigor he plunged the stake deep into the vampires heart and he was no more.
He stumbled back to his feet, still a little woozy from lack of oxygen to the brain. The girl was safe, he was somehow still alive, but what of the crash, but what saved him. He looked around for the sight of what caused the huge bang. Oz finally found the sight of a girl laying on some garbage cans. He approached her with caution as he was unsure how she would react to the sight of him. Thoughts of her saving him entered his mind, was it her that stopped the vamps death grip? It was apparent that she was the one that caused the crash, or more precisely her body caused it when it hit the garbage cans, but were the two connected?
She started to come to and Oz was standing over her. "How many fingers am I holding up?" Oz asked her holding three fingers out for her to look at. Before helping her to her feet. "Names Oz." Oz told her looking her up and down, if it was her that saved his life, he had a thank you to give her and he wondered if she knew what it was that was attacking that girl, or what Oz was for that matter. But it didn't matter right now, what mattered is if the girl had a concussion or not and Oz would feel bad if she got one cause of him, Oz was so out of practice when it came to vampire killing, it wasn't even funny, but he at least tried.

----------------------- [/b] Losing her breath from being tossed around like garbage, Chelcie groaned as she made impact with the trash cans. They mightn’t look solid, but the human body was still no match for them, all she could do was lie there amongst the scattered trash, as she held her sides in pain. The biggest drawback of being a hunter, was just that, all of the bruises and occasional broken bones, it was a wonder how Dean and Sam Winchester had been able to hunt for so long.
Lifting a trashcan lid that lay beside her, Chelcie in a futile attempt to continue the fight against; chucked the make do weapon at him, only to have the man punch the projectile away, okay should’ve seen that coming. She hadn’t given much hope, for the trashcan lid to do any real damage, it was only supposed to slow him down—evidently she had failed to do so, as he got ever so closer.
Knowing that she had to move, Chelcie did all she could to try to move—crawl if she had to; her landing had really done a number on her leg. After a few struggles to stand, it was best if she stayed put because thank God her arms were in a lot better shape than her legs were, her situation was still dire but at least if he got any closer to her, Chelcie had a slight chance of struggling.
However she wouldn’t get the chance to defend herself, “Oh, you have to be freaking kidding me. A vamp-bastard,” She usually hated being saved, and hated being saved by some guy more than anything, still Chelcie had hardly been in a position to choose otherwise, she wouldn’t pass up help tonight. Right now though Chelcie was frustrated that she didn’t pick up on it, some hunter she was, if she couldn’t tell a creature from the night to a human.
“Dude, it’s not like I hit my head or anything, your holding three fingers up.” She said trying to play off the injury she did have, he probably had already noticed she was holding her arm, and that’s the last thing that she needed, was somebody to think she needed looking after, in all honesty know, she hadn't meant to sound that snark in her voice. -----------------------[/b] Words - 384 Tag - Daniel Osbourne Notes - Ick on a stick sorry this is crap, and short! Oz was glad when the fight was over. He didn't come here tonight looking to get into a fight with a vampire. And the last thing he wanted was to get so worked up that he changed and attacked anything, living or undead, in the process. But it happened and Buffy was right, it was always better to have a Mr. Pointy around and not plan on using it, then not having it around only to wish you had it when you needed it. Now Oz can get back to Richmond, text Jade to tell her that he was back and missed her and call it a night.
First things first, he had to make sure the girl was ok. "You didn't know it was a vampire?" Oz asked her, he guessed some people remained ignorant of the creatures still, the movies and shows probably taught them that they were fake, or worse, romantic bunny eaters. Shaking the thought from his mind he was a little shocked at her response at him holding up figures, Oz was only trying to lighten the mood and make her feel better, and to make sure she didn't have any head trauma, she didn't have to be so rude about it.
"OK." Oz said, this girl clearly didn't want him around, but if she needed medical attention, then he would feel guilty if he didn't get her to a hospital and have her looked over tonight. "You need any help?" Oz asked her, he figured she was just a normal girl that wanted to help someone from dying tonight and got hurt in the process, he didn't know that she was a hunter. She didn't act like one, a hunter would know a vampire when they saw one and not think it was just some normal guy wanting to rape a girl and steal her purse.
"The very least let me buy you a beer for saving my life." Oz offered, that vampire had him dead to rights if not for this girl and he wanted to show his appreciation, if she stopped being rude enough to accept it and enjoy the adult beverage that is. Only one thing made Oz really cross with people, and that was them being rude or a bully. But he was willing to give her a 2nd chance.

----------------------- [/b] The fight ended sooner than Chelcie was expecting, not that she wasn’t pleased with that mind you, and the vampire did have her cornered. But she had been far from being out, or so she would have told anyone. She was more of a guy then even some, she was also as proud as a few were. She would never admit to being bested in a fight, let alone by some vampire. The man walking toward her, had just saved her from a sure beating, she wasn’t going to admit it to him. The most he would get was a thanks, maybe not even that instead, rather a ‘job well done’ or something like that.
Chelcie was a hunter, a real proper hunter and she was be damned if she didn’t act like it so she spoke. “Well obviously I know the guy is—was a freaking vampire now.” She knew she was being more than a bit impolite, but all things considered she couldn’t be blamed. Not that she thought so anyway, as a hunter it was her job to know about the supernatural. She was frustrated that she wasn’t able to pick the vampire out.
“Sorry,” she said, Chelcie was trying not to sound like a bitch. It wasn’t the guy’s fault she wasn’t able to pick vampires out, even though she should be able to. She wasn’t being fair, perhaps now after those first moments passing, she would be better behaved. “Nah I’m all cool dude.” Chelcie said as she was helped up, wincing in pain and hoping dreadfully that he hadn’t noticed her arm. “Chelcie,” she stated, she didn’t do introductions well, so hopefully that would be all that was needed from her.
“Well I do love to drink, sure why not I’ll be happy to drink with a stranger!” She said excitedly forgetting about her arm, wincing in pain after she had moved it too quickly. “Guess I do have girl arms,” Chelcie said—a half joke, since she was still angry about her own incompetence. -----------------------[/b] Words - 343 Tag - Daniel Osbourne Notes - -- Outfit - Chelcie's outfit, Chelcie's bike[/center]

Oz nodded, he somehow didn't believe her when she said she knew it was a vampire. She didn't act like it. Oz figured she was just trying to save face and not be called on her lie. Oz could respect that, Willow was the same way. She would do something wrong and then say she meant to do that or something. Oz never called her on it cause he knew it was probably not a good idea to do so. Again Oz simply shrugged as she apologized for her outburst. He didn't care one bit, she was just through a dramatic event like him, and he understood why.
"That's good. I'd hate to have to rush you to the emergency room." Oz said, ignoring the fact that she was clearly favoring his arm. His body healed quicker then normal, as he was a werewolf, so he didn't need to go himself. Though he was 95 percent positive he had a few bruised ribs, they would probably be healed by this time tomorrow anyways. "Oz." He replied back when she said her name was Chelcie, or he guessed that is what she meant by Chelcie, that it was her name. She didn't need to elaborate any more on who she was.
"Are you a hunter?" He asked however. That much he needed to know for certain, if she was trained to handle vampires or she simply was just in the wrong place at the wrong time? Plus, it would give him a hint on rather or not he should tell her that he is a werewolf. The vampire did call him on it and he wondered if Chelcie heard him refer to Oz being a werewolf and if she wanted to kill him because of it. Not all monster were bad, but Oz knew that hunters didn't always see it that way and that if she wanted to try to kill him, he would defend himself.
"Good, I heard this town had a good bar." Oz told her, it just gave him more of an excuse to check out said bar anyways. He began walking down the alleyway towards the bar. "Is it broken?" Oz asked her, curious to know the extent of the damage to the girls arm. "I am sure you will bounce back, and there is no better pain killer then alcohol." Oz told her.

----------------------- [/b] That had been her outburst for the night; it had only been because she felt embarrassed anyway. So it was more a sort of defence mechanism. Chelcie didn’t know how to handle embarrassment, at all. Usually she would flare-up like she had tonight, or she would attempt a joke in some crude manner. He, the man who had just saved her, seemed like a pretty solid guy, albeit maybe a little too calm. Chelcie preferred wilder people, mainly because she found difficulty in being quite herself.
She laughed, “Oh no, no, no if you rushed me to the emergency room I would have to beat you.” She was joking but Chelcie also was to some degree, serious. That would have just been too much shame for her; she quite obviously was a proud girl. At times even more proud the guys could get. He shouldn’t read too much into it, though he didn’t know what she was like as a person. He probably didn’t understand that it had been nothing more than a, bad attempt at some humor. “Wow okay I guess that’s kinda cool, you don’t happen to also come from a mysterious land do ya?” Chelcie said another joke, and another one that he probably wouldn’t understand. She had of course been referring to a certain wizard of Oz.
“Wait what!?” She hadn’t been expecting his next question, did this dude know about the freaky stuff? She wasn’t sure if she should tell him. Of course Harper would tell her not too, but he was just an old paranoid hermit. Of course Chelcie spoke too soon, as she thought aloud, if she hadn’t. She could have just waved it off as enjoying hunting as a sport, but now with her shaken question. She had to tell him. “What do you know, you know about that?” She decided, that rather than telling him right away that she was a hunter. Harper would probably want her to do some ground work first.
“Any bars good but you will have to pay man, at least until three more years.” Chelcie sheepishly said admitting to only being eighteen. “No, I don’t think it’s broken, it’s probably just sprained but it sure as hell hurts.” She could feel herself flush, becoming redder as they walked down the alley, turning her head slightly so he didn’t notice.

"Well, I don't want to get beat up tonight." Oz said with a shrug. He clearly didn't understand that it was a joke or where she was coming from. Oz wasn't stupid, but this girl was hard to read for him and he couldn't get an exact read on her. Normally he could tell when someone is trying to be humorous or sarcastic, but not in this moment. Maybe once he got to know her a little better everything would click and he would be able to tell when such moments were a joke or not. Her next line he did know was a joke because he had heard it before.
"No, but there was a yellow brick road leading up to my house." Oz said in his own lame attempt to make a joke over his name. Not to mention that he was a little on the short side and probably reminded some people of the munchkins, but that was a different story that Oz didn't like to go into. Her response to his question about her being a hunter didn't surprise him. Many people pretended that vampires and other creatures didn't exist even though they just fought one. He shrugged at her question about what he knew on the subject.
"I know you shouldn't fight a vampire on your own unless your experienced." Oz told her finally. It was barely the surface of what he knew. But he couldn't come out and say that he was a werewolf and was friends with slayers, witches and even a few vampires now could he? "I am a sorta hunter as well." He replied, deciding that it wasn't so far from the truth so it wasn't a lie but it wasn't big enough information that she could use it against him in some way. All she knew was that he had experience fighting these things, and that is all she need know for now.
"You are only 18?" Oz asked her, having 2nd thoughts about buying a minor a drink. "Well, don't tell anyone. It is for medicinal purposes after all." He replied, deciding it wasn't that big or a deal. She probably had alcohol from time to time anyways, so at least he could make sure she doesn't pass out and get taken advantage of. "Good, my first aid is rusty." Oz told her again a lame attempt at a joke.

----------------------- [/b] “Relax buddy, I’m kidding. I’m only a girl anyway of course I couldn’t hurt anybody.” Chelcie felt as bad as she was able, it had been the reason for her next joke. She did thoroughly loathe the stereotype that girls couldn’t fight; however in this situation she was hoping to use it to break the ice. She did suppose that she may have sounded a little too serious, maybe that type of humor was just lost on some. Or even it could just generally be hard to understand, whatever the reason may be, Chelcie knew that she’d have to try to be a little clearer, with new people.
“So, I guess you won’t be granting me any wishes then, huh?” Chelcie said feigning disappointment, the joke was lame obviously they both knew that. But all the lamest jokes were always the best. At least those joked were better than the ones that made the most sense. In her mind anyway, Oz will forever be known as the man from Oz, she thought. I didn’t just think that? That made no sense. Honestly sometime she could think of the weirdest things.
However try as she might, her mind kept returning to the man’s question, Chelcie couldn’t believe that had had come out and asked it outright. Obviously he knew; he didn’t have to answer her question for Chelcie to know that. As Oz answered her, Chelcie began to relax. His answer was a simple one, she knew of hunters who would have pressed for further explanation. But the simplicity of his response was fine in her opinion, so she spoke answering his query. “Well I guess it’s safe to admit that I am a hunter,” she said before sheepishly admitting, “A new hunter.”
He then admitted that he was a hunter or sorts like her, which allowed for Chelcie to loosen up more. She wasn’t usually an uptight kind of girl. Harper had always taught her to keep what they did a secret, from everybody, and that was what she did. “You from around here dude? I personally am finding it hard getting use to a small time.” She stated what better way to get to know somebody; than small talk, not that Chelcie was any good at small talk though she was trying.
“Cool beans dude, I had a feeling that we were going to be getting along.” She said casually, he had already said he was fine with her being underage, if they didn’t tell anybody. Chelcie still thought she should still try to seem more mature, with her almost far too casual tone, she had a feeling she was overdoing it. Deciding to try another joke, she snorted. “Who needs first aid, when you have alcohol, right?”

"Something tells me you can hold your own in a fight." Oz told her as she said she was only a girl and couldn't hurt anyone. "Besides, I know plenty of girls that can kick my ass." Oz told her truthfully. The list was fairly long too. There was of course Buffy and Faith, Satsu and Sarah, who he hasn't met yet, but since he knew they were slayers, then they probably could kick his ass, and of course Willow and Jade. His ex and his current, Willow was a strong witch and if she wanted to hurt him, maybe she could, but she wouldn't hurt a fly.
Jade, his current girlfriend was also a werewolf, so if they were to get into a fist fight it might be a fairly even fight, but Oz wasn't gonna pick a fight with his girlfriend. Besides that, Oz really wasn't much of a fighter anyways, unless it came to defending his own life, or someone else's life. Then he would man up and whip some ass. But most of the time he was pretty docile. "I would if I could." Oz said with a smile. He wasn't about to tell her his real name, not just yet, not till he found out more about her. Oz was a nickname that just stuck.
He nodded, though she didn't need to elaborate anymore. Most of the time when someone got into hunting, it was for a specific reason. Oz got into it because he met a bunch of people who were dead set on saving the world. Other stories might not be so un-personal. Her story could be tragic, and he wasn't about to ask what her reasons were. Anyways it was none of his business. "That's cool, welcome to the club." Oz told her as his only response to her admittance. If she wanted to say more, that was fine, but it was up to her.
"No, I am originally from California." Oz told her, he wasn't sure if he should mention Sunnydale or not right now, it would just give her more questions to ask, and like her past and reasons were up to her to share, his past and reasons were up to him to share. He also knew a lot of people knew about what happened to Sunnydale and didn't want a pity party right now. "Yeah, this place and Richmond are pretty hard to get use to." He stated simply, he was slowly but surely getting use to it, but it must of been easier for him as he knew people here.
He found his friends shortly after arriving and then found a new girlfriend a few days later. It happened so quick for him and he felt right at home now. It must not be that easy for everyone, otherwise moving to a new place would be everyone's dream. "Yep, I figure you are probably gonna drink anyways, might as well make sure you are safe." He said, though he knew she probably didn't want a short "bodyguard". It was just his instincts. "Exactly." Oz said, finding himself smiling too. Though a first aid kit did come in handy a few times in Sunnydale.

----------------------- [/b] Chelcie snorted stating, “Well what do you know, cute, smart and puppy like.” She said, having a rip on Oz’s appearance. Even though he did have a scruffy beard, it did nothing actually make him look old, Oz still had the puppy dog look about him. Although the statement was more to feed her ego then anything a, ‘yeah your damn right I’m a badass.’ Was more along the lines, of something she would normally say? But for the sake of first impressions, Chelcie had decided against it.
This was unlike her, because usually she wouldn’t have any issues talking her own ability up. Even though she her talk was more then what her actual ability was. A hunter was use to being frightened, to the point that they no longer did get fearful, Chelcie was the exception however. Granted this could be waved off as her inexperience, Chelcie’s talk and inappropriate humor was used as a mask.
Tonight was no exception, and though the two where no longer in any danger. She still felt embarrassed about being saved, although arguably they had saved one another; she didn’t see it like that. It was unlikely her arm was broken, it didn’t hurt that much. But during that fight it was hurting just enough, to give her a distinct disadvantage with who she now knew to be a vampire.
“Huh, wasn’t aware there was such a thing as a hunter’s fan club?” Chelcie said, it was meant as a joke, but it wasn’t something Oz would be able to tell, unless he knew her well. Chelcie was still feeling ashamed that she had to be saved, and in some way she thought she was letting Harper down—but more important she was letting herself down. If she wasn’t able to take one vampire, then how was she supposed to kill the vampire she was actually searching for?
“Huh small world, I’m from California too.” She stated shrugging her shoulders as if it’s no big deal; it was possible that Oz too was from the bay, it was a big enough city that she mightn’t have known him. Even still Chelcie thought that she knew most people from San Francisco. “What part?” she queried relaxed before stating, stating “oh I don’t know, Mystic Falls is a lot like San Francisco what with all the undead bastards running around.” Making it clear that she wasn’t too fond of vampires, it caused somebody to shiver; the tone Chelcie had said that with.
She wondered how Oz was settling in, since the town was new for him too. She herself was finding the small town vibe, awkward to get use to; the quietness in comparison to loud San Francisco was eerie for her. “Hey now dude, give me some cred... Actually you’re probably right; I would have found a way to drink.” Chelcie had begun acting a mocked insulted, that Oz had insinuated she wasn’t somebody to follow rules, before changing the statement part way through.
