----------------------- [/b] -----------------------[/b] Mari found herself in the bar, again. She felt like she was turning into a lush but there wasn’t a whole lot she felt like doing since Chris had left her. She was slowly getting over him but it was taking a lot of work. Staring into the mirror that was in the back of the bar she sighed and nursed her jack and coke.
As usual she was dressed to kill in a red dress that showed her off to her best advantage. She just had to keep trying to get out there and show how much Chris’ disappearing act had upset her. How much it had wounded her. She might have been accused of trying to hard if she’d actually gone home with anyone but all she wanted to do was get compliments, veiled though they were with innuendo, to salve her bruised ego. She’d heard everything from “What’s your sign?” to “Hey babe that dress looks great on you. It would look better on my floor though.” She was pretty good at judging the hook up guys verses the good ones, at least she had been before Chris. That thought made her knock back her jack and coke and the bartender filled her up without asking. He knew the most she would have was three drinks, then call a cab and go home.
Gotta love the Mystic Falls gossip. She still wasn’t as bad as some of the folks here that were human so she figured she was good to go. The booze slid down her throat and she ordered her usual Ranch fries with bacon. Cardiac arrest for most humans but she loved them and it gave the alcohol something to work with.

- - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - It was late and Dean was pissed he had just gotten done talking to Sarah, it seemed that Sam had talked to the demon bitch for some reason. Dean wanted to know why Sam would still be even talking to her demon ass, better yet looking at her. After all she did, all she fucked up for them, she was the whole reason Sam went to hell in the first place. So that should be more reason to want her dead, more reason not to want to talk to the fucking bitch.
Anyway after everything Dean needed to chill out, he needed to calm down and do the one thing that he did when he needed to. And that was go get himself a beer, and maybe a shot or two. It was just the way to take the edge off, plus he needed to think about what he was going to say to say to him. Dean knew one thing for sure he was going to punch him straight in the face. So hard he wont know what had hit him other then Dean’s hand. He hates for it to go this way, Dean hates bring things to this. But at the same time he has to get through to Sam, and sometimes this is the only way.
Dean had made it to the bar, so he parked his baby and made his way inside. As he walked in the place wasn’t to bad it was a slower of the nights there, but that was good that way he could just relax and enjoy his beer. Dean walked to the bar and order his beer and shot, sitting there waiting for it to come. But as Dean was waiting he couldn’t help but notice someone that seemed someone down. Something that he didn’t like to see. So he figured he would cheer someone up and make them feel better. “Hey you ok miss?” Asked the hunter.

----------------------- [/b] -----------------------[/b] She sighed quietly as she sat there with her drink. She nursed this one, not wanting to get totally messed up as she thought about her situation. Chris had been gone for over a month. Did she dare put his stuff in storage? Hell she ought to just see about slipping it to good will at this stage. He didn’t even see fit to contact her. At least if she did that she wouldn’t have to look at it and wonder or answer weird questions if anyone found it.
What was she supposed to do? It wasn’t like there were people you could report him missing to. “Hello Vampire PD? I’d like to report a missing fledgling by the name of Chris Morris. He just up and disappeared on me for no damn good reason…” wasn’t going to fly.
The handsome guy next to her got a shake of the head, “A guy that I was interested in just up and disappeared. Guess I’m not the first girl to fall for a line.” She said sadly as she looked at nothing in particular, “I had just moved his stuff in, we were in that phase of getting used to each others quirks and he was gone overnight. Guess he had other places he wanted to be.” She said with a shrug as she took another sip of her drink, “I’ll be okay. Guess I should be glad he left before I slept with him.” She said ruefully as she glanced over at Dean, “What brings you here?” she asked the blue eyed stranger.

- - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - Dean didn’t like to see a girl sad and upset, so he did the one thing that he knew he could do. Talk to her and make her feel better, cheer a pretty girl up. It wasn’t like Dean was trying to flirt with her or anything he was pretty deep into it with Lisa. They were closer now then they had ever been before. Hell Dean was even thinking about Marriage, which was something Dean didn’t think about that often with just any girl. But she was so much different not like any girl Dean had ever been with and he couldn’t let he go.
He felt bad as the young woman seemed to be left alone, she said that her guy had just up and disappeared. This worried Dean and made him wonder if he had been taken by someone? He wondered if he maybe had a case here, but then again maybe he just left for some space. “ Well why you think he left? “ He asked in a worried like tone. “I mean you think he is juts made or something is wrong?” He hoped the woman did think Dean was strange or something for asking, being a hunter is something he didn’t want to make a deal about it.
“Well I’m sorry about what happened, here.” He then called the bartender down to bring them so shots. ’Shots make everyone feel better, they do me anyway.” She wondered what brought Dean here to this bar, which was easy it was called pissed off at dumb ass brother! But he couldn’t tell her it was because he had been talking to a demon, that would seem to out there. ‘Well just family trouble same old same old. But really just needed a drink.” Dean played if off well. “So I’m Dean and you are?” He asked.

----------------------- [/b] -----------------------[/b]
“I don’t know. One evening he’s singing me love songs by a bonfire at the beach on a moonlit night and the next he’s just gone. I don’t know if he just got tired of not getting some or if he got snagged off the street or worse. And yeah, I know I could call the cops but its complicated.” She said as she sipped her drink and frowned, “So here I am with no leads and a missing boyfriend. I think there was more to him than I thought but I don’t know. I’m not exactly well versed in man speak. I spent most of my life in Catholic school and yes I did follow the rules. I’m not one of those stereotypes.” She added to him before he could go off to fantasyland.
She sighed and took another sip of her drink. ‘I’m not exactly a person with a great track record for guys. I fall for every hard luck case in the book. Its just my nature.” She said with a shake of her head, “You would not believe some of the stories I’ve heard.” She was unsure what to do about her problem. No one seemed to be able to fix it-- or cared to. It was her problem, her attitude that she needed to adjust. “I’ll get over it. I’m resilient. I’ve survived worse than this.” She said, curbing her rant before she ended up blowing her cover.
“What brings you to the bar? You look too good to be here. After all someone who likes Metallica is just awesome.” She said as she commented on his shirt. “I loved their Black Album. I listen to it on roadtrips.”

- - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - Dean felt for the girl and didn’t get why he would just up and leave her like that, there had to be more to this here that Dean didn’t know. Which was why he was going to talk to her see if there was anyway at all that he could help her, after all Dean hates to see a pretty girl sad. He knew that Lisa would understand if he was a little late, she would be upset if he didn’t help a friend in need. “Well sometimes when things are complicated and the cops cant help, its usually when I come in. Its your lucky day, lets just say I take the hard cases that most cops wouldn’t take.” Said Dean. “So what is it I can help you with then? He asked again hoping maybe she tell him.
Dean understood when she said she had a bad record with guys, he was in the same boat the a few years ago with girls. That is until he met Lisa, now he feels like the luckiest guy on this planet. He couldn’t ask for a better girl, she really was the best thing that ever happened to him. “Well who cares about your track record that don’t mean shit, I’m sure mine can beat you any day.” He said with a smile. “Don’t worry you will find Mr. right you just haven’t yet, you will find someone that will treat you the way you need to be. Not leave you alone like this.” He hoped that he had made her feel better, he couldn’t take to see the girl sad like this.
“I’m here just chilling out grabbing a beer, just got off work.” Said Dean. He couldn’t help but love the fact she noticed his shirt, it wasn’t that often he found a fan like him. “Oh my god thanks, I know that is like the best Cd! See I listen to it a lot on trips too seeing that with my job I travel a lot. There is something about that band man that calms me down.” Which was true, he could name all the time he hummed there music to feel peace. Even though it drives Sam up the wall.

----------------------- [/b] -----------------------[/b] As Dean spoke, Mari watched the condensation on her glass. She could tell it was warm in the bar even if she herself didn’t react one way or the other. She just didn’t care. When Dean started talking about trying to help her she shook her head, “He had some issues to work out. He probably took off to deal with them. Believe me its probably better that he’s gone. He wasn’t listening to me when I tried to talk sense to him and he wouldn’t listen. He’s on a crusade and its not going to be stopped until he faces what happened to him.”
Looking at the bar, she tried to focus her thoughts, “Some people just need to face their demons, Dean. Chasing after them doesn’t do any good. Your best bet is to just let him find his own way. He’s bound and determined to do things the way he wants to and he has to learn what it will cost him. There is only so much good that I can do when he won’t listen.”
She wondered if Chris had gotten himself killed with his own desire for revenge. That desire that burned stronger than his love for her, evidently. She really hated that he wanted to kill more than he wanted to be with her. It was one of their biggest stumbling blocks. She smiled at Dean and nodded. “Enter Sandman is one of my favorites. I just like the classics I guess.” She nodded when he was enthusiastic about the group. “Yeah the music is very therapeutic for me. I just play it and suddenly a lot of my frustrations are ended. Well most of them. This…” she gestured to her problem, that they were discussing, “Is just hard all around. My name is Marina.” She said as she offered her hand to the other man. No need to be rude after all.

- - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - Dean could tell that she was just lying to herself, trying to say that she was ok with him gone. But Dean knew better then that he knew that she was just lying to herself trying to feel better about the fact that he was gone. Dean had been there done that been down that road, he tired to lie to himself that he was ok that Lisa was gone when really he wasn’t. Dean couldn’t live with out her no matter how hard he tired he loved her to much. Love with always bring them together now matter what. “Well I’m sorry that he left but maybe it is for the best.” he said with a smile.
She was right about that for sure, some people do need to face there demons Dean has done so many of times in more ways then one. He even has gone to hell and back, which is something he never wants to have to do as long as he lives. All though he isn’t sure heaven is much better for that matter, cant stand Angels for the life of him. Well except for Cass he is about the only one. “Your right some people do need to face there demons, sometimes there is only so much you can do. You know I think you are taking this better then you realize you are, you are a strong woman.” Said Dean.
He loved that they had music uncommon, Dean didn’t know a lot of people that were into them. Sam hated there music so they didn’t get along with it came to that, but it seemed that he had found someone to speak about it with. “Yeah I feel the same way it calms me down so much, I like wherever I may roam the best.” Said the hunter. “Its nice to meet you by the way, I’m Dean Winchester. So Marina you lived in this town long?”

----------------------- [/b] -----------------------[/b] She turned her head and looked at him, a smile on her face as she spoke with the handsome blonde, “You remind me of my brother.” She said with a half grin, “He was pragmatic like you.” She murmured as she sipped her drink and felt the booze burn a path down her gullet. “I miss him. He died a while back.” She added as she called for another glass and raised it a moment in her brothers honor before taking another sip.
“Well Chris had a lot of problems. As you say, its probably for the best. Lord knows I don’t have the answers any more than anyone else. I just hope his demons aren’t the head twisting kind. That movie the Exorcist was nasty. Great cinematically and amazing mes en scene with how they made you feel it all but man that messes with your head.”
“Wherever I May Roam is good but Enter Sandman just has this driving beat you can feel all the way through your body.” She said as she glanced over at him and chuckled softly. “Well that or Wolf and Man.” She added as she thought of Tyler a moment. The clink of ice in her glass reminded her she should eat something before she got too drunk, catching the bartenders attention she ordered a cheeseburger and smothered fries. She’d have needed a heart bypass surgery if she was human with all the carbs she’d grubbed out on but she didn’t care right now. She was just hungry and it wasn’t for the Grill’s grub. Time to sublimate with food and pig out.

- - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - It was sad to hear that she didn’t have her brother anymore, Dean didn’t know what he would do with out Sammy. He was more then just a brother he was also a friend. “Wow sorry to hear that losing family is never easy, I’m really close with my brother Sam.” Said Dean. “So I remind you of him huh, well I guess that a good thing then right.” Dean picked up his beer taking another drink having a good time, he had a good buzz going on now for the alcohol which was just what he needed.
That movie could mess with peoples head, but demons where more creative then that. They would do a lot worse then that. Dean would know going to tell and all, seeing all that can happen and what they can do. It still haunts Dean in his dreams and it always will for as long as he lives. “Yeah I know what you mean, that is one freaky movie. But no I don’t think Demons do that, way to corny. They would do more then that with more pain.” Dean then stopped realizing he sounded crazy. “I mean that’s what I think anyway.” He told her trying to play it off.
Dean still though it was pretty cool that she like Metallica, it was nice to find someone that like that same stuff that he did. He never got to talk to Sam about this stuff seeing that he wasn’t into that music at all. “So shock me some more what else are you into?” He asked her. “You like older or newer cars?’ he asked waiting to know what she say before he told her about his baby.

----------------------- [/b] -----------------------[/b] “He was nice at times.” She said simply as she sat there with him and exhaled. “Its good that you and your brother are close. Family is important.” She said as she stared at the mirror that all bars had in them now to make them look bigger than they really were. It also let the bartender make sure no one was stealing or walking out without paying.
Then the guy was talking about demons like they were real. It kind of scared her obviously. She knocked back her drink, “Dude, if demons were real I think I would head the other way. Too many sadistic people on this planet as it is without some sulfur spewing evil making what good there is in this world into something horrible. Seen enough bad things in my time.” Yeah this conversation was not going anywhere helpful at all.
“I like to sing. Just about anything really. Blues, Opera, Pop, Rock obviously and I love old cars. They don’t make them like that any more. The old ones were built to last not these plastic pieces of crap you find on the road now. No one takes pride in their work any more and it’s a damn shame.” She blushed, “Sorry, yeah I tend to ramble when I’m a bit gone. “As far as other things I’m a fan of…action films. They’re very cathartic for me. I saw Pacific Rim. That movie kicked ass. You cannot go wrong with Giant Robots. Its just impossible.”

- - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - She was right family was important and it always has been to Dean, but really his brother, Bobby and Cass were all the family he had. But Dean was ok with that it was enough for him. He didn’t ask or need much, he only wished his mom and dad were there to spend time with them. But then again maybe Sam and Dean wouldn’t be as close as they were now. Sam having to help him find there dad is what drew them close. “Yeah family is important, so you have any family that is to you?” Dean asked her.
Dean knew that he had sounded nuts to this girl, he needed to chill out on more of what he said here to her. “Yeah I hear ya, this world is way to nuts for all that.” Said Dean. He then wondered for a moment how this girl knew what sulfur was? That wasn’t really something that was made a big deal of in movies. He really was starting to wonder now what it was this girl really knew, and maybe there was more to her that was lead on.
Dean agreed with this girl all the way, they didn’t make cars at all like they use to. American muscle was the way to go, which was the way he loved them. “I’m right there with you, they don’t make them like they use to. As for the ranting I don’t mind I do it too when I talk of something I love.” Said the hunter with a smile. “Well I tell you I love old John Wayne movies, Bond he is the man, and any thing Star Trek works for me. But you are right with Robot how can you go wrong.” Dean took another drink of his beer, calling down the bartender for another round. “Here lets get some more shots on me.”

----------------------- [/b] -----------------------[/b] She shook her head, “My parents died a long time ago and my brother had a heart condition. Its just me nowadays. I’m probably going to see if they have a thanksgiving special here.” Goodness, she sounded so pathetic even to herself. Lexi had been right.
Ducking her head she took another shot to cover her shame and just not so good feeling, exhaling as the alcohol burned its way down her guts. He at least got off the creepy demon talk which made her feel better on one level. Life was hard enough without dealing with demons. That was some freaky stuff and mojo she did not want to touch. She blinked a few times and ordered a cheeseburger with smothered fries. Not very lady like but it beat letting the alcohol burn a hole in her gut and make her crave blood. Somehow she doubted him finding that out would go over well.
She nodded at the other drink and when her food finally came she bit into it with gusto. Listening to him as he spoke of old cars. Taking a napkin she cleaned her face and make sure she didn’t look gross with ketchup or something, “What is your favorite Bond film and or Bond? I am a Sean Connery girl all the way.” She announced as she took a shot and raised it to him. As he raised his own she downed hers and set the glass on the bar upside down. This was turning into a fun night after all.

- - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - Dean felt bad that he had been even been talking of family at all, he had no idea that she had lost some of her family like that. “Sorry to hear that sounds really hard, I know how you feel my mom and dad are gone to. If I didn’t have Sam I don’t know what I do.” Said Dean. “It cant be easy being alone Marina, so if you ever need anyone just know that you have a friend who is here for you anytime, and my friends are like family.” Dean hoped that what he told her made her feel better and not so sad anymore.
Dean was right there with her on the food, a hamburger did sound really good even the smothered fires did. He looked at the waiter telling him to bring the same thing. “You know that’s sound really good, now because of you I have to eat too.” He said with a smile. “I’m a sucker for hamburgers there like my favorite thing to eat, I could eat them everyday. Hell I pretty much do, lets just say I’m not a man that cooks often.
Finally there food and drinks came to the table looking amazing as ever, Dean dug into the plate right after the waiter set it down, Taking a big bite of his burger. “Man this is good I guess I was hungry then I realized. How’s your food?” He asked her. They both had cleaned there plate leaving behind nothing.
Dean took a drink of his shot hearing that she liked Bond films with was pretty awesome. “Wow you are a pretty cool chick I cant lie Bond is the shit. But I’m a Sean Connery man myself, I love how cool he was I mean all the ladies wanted him. Reminds me of me in my young days.” Dean said with a smile, thinking of his young hunting days.

----------------------- [/b] -----------------------[/b] “Family is a blessing when you have it. I’m glad you have your brother, Dean.” She said as she tried to reassure him that it was okay that he had brought the subject up. She really didn’t mind as much as folks thought she might. She was pretty laid back when it came to other people and their family interactions. Wasn’t like she had anyone from when she was growing up to talk to. She was alone in the world and as much as it sucked, at least she didn’t have to worry about pleasing anyone but herself.
“I couldn’t eat them every day but I do like a good burger and believe me when I’m feeling crappy about myself I don’t care what I eat so long as its cooked and unhealthy as all get out.” She said with a chuckle as she waited for his food to arrive with hers. Dean was a pretty alright guy. It was rather refreshing to have someone to talk about things she was interested in instead of worrying about other peoples problems.
“Mine is great.” She said in between bites, taking the time to wipe her face and swallow before she spoke. She was still a lady after all. She just was one who was not ashamed to eat the most unhealthy thing on the menu. Who cared after you were dead? Wasn’t like she was going to gain weight or die of clogged arteries.
She chuckled and sighed, “I just liked his suave nature. He may have been a total player but he was classy about it. All his girls knew it wasn’t forever and he always left them with a smile on their face unless they were the badguys and then it just got a little more interesting.” She laughed softly as she opted for a regular coke to help break the alcohol consumption somewhat. “I bet you have plenty of stories to tell.” She said with a chuckle as she sighed and shrugged, “My life is a bit more boring than that.” She admitted, not wanting to embarrass him by asking him about his playboy days.
