- - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - - Noah was exhausted and that was saying something since he was a vampire and that usually didn’t happen. However today had been a crazy day and he wasn’t sure if it was going to get any better to be perfectly honest. A week ago his pipes had burst causing him to have to move into a hotel. Well he had been told yesterday that his pipes had been fixed so he moved out of the hotel and back into his house. It took one shower to learn that the pipes had not been fixed and he had ended up having to call another plumber (since clearly the original one had no idea what the hell he was doing) and come and fix it. He would be sending the original one the bill for the second one but that was another story.
So he had gone back to the hotel he had been staying at only to find out that they had no more rooms. Apparently there was some big festival this weekend and all the hotels were booked which caused him to have to go to Richmond only to find out that they had no availabilities either. Not that it was that big of deal since really he could deal with no sleep for one night but he did have to go to work the next day meaning that he at least had to find a place to shower and change. He thought about just heading to the next town and finding a hotel there (Mid Rivers he was sure had something but he didn’t really want to have to drive an hour in the morning to work) but he really didn’t know what else to do. He really should have had a backup plan but then again really, when the hell did this happen to normal people?
Granted, he had never and would never call himself normal. Vampires as a rule weren’t normal to begin with and he wasn’t even a normal vampire being that he didn’t kill people and worked with kids, but eh, that was another story too.
He looked down at his phone and grinned at the picture of himself and Rebekah that was saved as his wallpaper and that’s when it hit him. He knew that Rebekah technically lived with her brother however from what he had heard her brother had been out of town for quite a while meaning that she was all alone. While he wasn’t one to invite himself over he really didn’t have any other choice so he quickly jumped on his bike and headed towards the Mikaelson home, arriving in record time. Walking up the driveway he thought he heard a young voice coming from inside the house however he figured he must be imagining things or that he had heard the TV because he couldn’t imagine Rebekah having a child inside.
Yeah, little did he know.
Walking onto the porch he knocked on the door firmly, hoping that his Beauty would be okay with having him there for the night. If not there was always Mid Rivers.

Zan did not need teaching in the sense of how to clean up after himself, but he needed to know what was acceptable and what was not. He had a plan now, he was taught one way, but now that he was in a new place a new home, what he had learned would fade. If those rules he had about making a bed and all that were not reinforced, then he'd lose them. He'd forget them, he'd get lazy. He'd find other things to do, make someone do them for him. If all he had to do here was bat an eye lash, then his prior knowledge of working hard lead to getting what one wanted would be gone and replaced with batting your eye lashes gets you what you want. Now ever now and again letting a slip up happen was only natural, only fair. But to live a life without rule.... that could have some pretty bad side effects. Zan was still in his polite zone for that's all he knew so far. He'd clean up after himself, but if better things come along, and he 'forgets' one night and is never told, he'd going to start forgetting more often, until he never cleans up after himself. Teaching was one thing, consistency was another.
Zan would learn things on his own, naturally. He's always been super curious. He'd do what he thought was right, but the true thing Zan needed was consistency. Something he did all the time, he always goes to bed at this time, he eats at this time, someone always picks him up from school. He needs to know his needs will be meet. That's the most important thing. He needs to know he's safe, he has a place to sleep, and food to eat. He needs to know he's loved and wanted. The rest will naturally fall into place. Zan has a good background, so he'd be able to do his part. But at this point in the game consistency was key. If she wanted him to clean up, he always needed to clean up.
Zan shrugged in Bek's arms. He was not sure what he liked. He just knew Salt and Hot sauce were at the very top of his list. He also gravitated towards things like sour war heads and other such candies. But he was not sure that was acceptable. In his last two homes, candy was not acceptable talk. Sure it was a treat and he could have a lolly pop or two, (His adopted parents made him brush his teeth right after said candy) but that was about it. He never really got to breach out and try a bunch of candy. He was looking forward to this Halloween for the orphanage was going to take him out for his first night ever trick or treating, at least the first night he can really remember. And he really was looking forward to sampling all the candy he'd surly get.
"That's okay." Zan answered her. He really did not need real paint. He could make do with his fingers. Shoot he only really needed his eyes... or brain or whatever. He was not sure how his powers worked, but he really just had to look at something before the color would change. He did not always have to touch it. Though touching made it easier and more accurate. So who knew where the gift came from. Any which way, he could make do with something to paint on, and himself. That's all he really needed. He could draw his own lines, and just fill in the colors from there, like a paint by numbers. Or he could just paint whatever he felt like. But he just needed a place to do it. Like a side walk. Though if he painted a side walk it would never wash away, so he'd surly have to erase it before he forgot about it and left it there forever. That would surly draw some unwanted attention.
Zan nodded once, as he glanced to the walls and back at her. He could change the color of anything. So if he painted on the wall, he just had to change the color to match the surrounding wall. It would likely look better like a fresh coat of pain if he touched it. But other then that it would be just like normal. He could cover it all back up with a blink of an eye really. Though again it would surly look like a fresh coat of pain... but could she really complain about that? Adding dirty spots, and paint chips would be harder, and Zan just would not pay that much attention to it to put it exactly back how it was. But would she really want old paint on the walls? Or would she want it looking fresh. That was more the question. He could erase it, but he'd erase the years of dirt and what not as well.
Zan shook his head again and giggled a little to himself. She surly was a funny one. They already had this whole conversation. Including Zan changing the color of her hair and changing it back, hardly even touching her head at all. Maybe she forgot, but it was still silly, and Zan was pretty sure she was just acting dumb to make him giggle. Though he really had no idea. She seemed like a very smart girl , and he liked that. But when she played dumb it was pretty entertaining. At least he suspected it would be.
Randomly there was a knock on the door, causing Zan to jump slightly, as he flicked once or twice, startled by the sudden sound. He blinked a few times at Bek, not sure where to go from here. Should he go hide? Should he get the door? Should he stand there... would she put him down? Would Zan freak out and get scared? Who was that? Were they coming to get him? Or did Bek have a visitor? He was pretty sure he was safe, here... but you just never know. And that was starting to make him sweat a little. At least the dong did not freak him out enough to make him full on disappear. He just kind of flickered a bit. Nothing too serious. Just a bad connection kind of deal, but like with all bad connections you smack it and it's set right again. Only Zan did not need the smashing, he set himself right, for he realized it was just a knock on the door, and not the walls caving in. Still.... if Bek had a visitor.... did that mean he needed to hide? Was she ready to tell her visitors he was here? Or did she want to keep him a secret for a while? Like a big game of hide and go seek? This could turn into quite the fun little game.

Rebekah smiled at him. Rebekah didn't mean to forget something like that, he showed her after all exactly what he could do, and so she should of expected that he can do anything painting wise and be able to fix it. But sometimes Rebekah was a bit forgetful, she had 1000 years of memories, teachings and experiences in her brain and it felt crowded sometimes. So that was that. She nodded at Zan finally. "OK, you can paint on the walls then, just don't do it if Nik ever comes around, he won't like it very much, but what he doesn't know don't hurt him." Rebekah told Zan with a smile.
She too heard the knock at the door, in fact she heard the foot prints coming up the stairs and got scared for a moment because she thought Zan was gonna vanish again, but he didn't. She breathed a sigh of relieve, really not wanting to go through that again so quickly. She would have to get use to is someday, granted, but she didn't want to have to get use to is right off the bat, she wanted it to work out over time, and another scare tonight would be to much for her. Lucky for her, he was back to normal quickly enough, so her fear subsided. "Its ok, its probably someone I know." She told him with a smile.
She set him on the couch and smiled at him again. "Don't worry, they won't hurt you, not while I am around, and you will like them probably." She spoke to him kindly. "Um, go ahead and paint if you want till I get back, just don't go vanishing on me if you can help it." Rebekah told him seriously, really the first thing she ever said as a pure order to him. Don't vanish unless you have to. Simple enough, though he didn't seem to have control over it, she just hopped that her words could keep him calm enough to avoid his vanishing act 2.0 on her tonight.
She walked to the front door, wondering who it could be. It wasn't Nik, he would just barge in un-announced and act like a tough guy. It was probably someone either Rebekah knew or Nik knew. If it was one of Nik's hybrid minions, it might be a problem, but if it was for her, then it was a friend, and that was a bit of a scary thought. "Look at you, 6 years old and you just moved in and you already have a girlfriend." She teased Zan with a smiled as she approached the door, looking outside she spotted Noah standing there. Oh, now this should be interesting.
She opened the door and looked at him, making sure he couldn't see past her. "Hey sexy, what brings you around tonight?" Rebekah asked him, she wondered if she should tell Noah about Zan or not, and if he was here, then he probably should know what was going on, as it was bound to get out sooner or later, and it might as well get out on Rebekah's terms. "OK, before you freak out, I have something to tell you, and I was hoping you could offer a little help on the matter?" Rebekah said to him, sounding nervous, more nervous then the day she waited for him under the bleachers.
She opened the door widely and moved to the side, allowing Noah to see past her and motioned to him. "I... adopted a kid." Rebekah said quietly to him, searching his face for any hint of a sign of emotion or amazement or something.

- - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - - He smiled a large smile though that didn't mean he didn't notice that she wasn't allowing him to see inside the house. This would have worried him however he heard a heart beat within the house so he knew it wasn’t someone that Bekah herself was with. He knew her well enough to know that she wasn’t someone who got with human men. It was something they had talked about quite awhile ago and even if they hadn’t talked about it he would have been able to tell just by the way she liked to get rough during sex…no human man could handle her without her holding herself back quite a bit.
He quirked an eyebrow when she mentioned something to tell him. "Okay...?" He trailed off, making it sound like a question. "I'll try and help anyway I can as long as you do me a huge favor in return." He retorted. "My pipes flooded again and all the hotels are booked for the weekend since the Founder's Day thing is this weekend. Mind if I hung out here at least until tomorrow since after that I can grab a hotel room a few towns over and not have to worry about getting back in time for work?" He asked, not really thinking much of it since he would never have considered what she actually needed his help with.
It took him a few moments before he heard what she said and his eyes widened to a way that would have been hilarious had the situation not been so serious. "You did what?" He asked quickly, sure he hadn't heard her. However when she simply waited for him to respond he shook his head, not sure what to think. Sure he loved kids and had thought himself about adopting a few years ago however it was a lot harder than it sounded and being that he was technically dead it made things a lot more difficult since he didn’t age meaning that he had to leave and switch towns every few years and with a child that wasn’t as easy as if it was just him.
“Okay, wait a minute, who let a single woman adopt a kid?” He asked, remembering when he had looked into it and they had frowned upon single people, men and women. “I just saw you a couple days ago and you didn’t say anything about it which means that this was a quick thing and I know adoption isn’t quick.” He continued before stopping himself and taking a deep breath. “Okay, can I meet the kid you adopted and then you can explain what exactly is going on?” He asked, the smile on his face long gone. He wasn’t mad so much as confused and had a sneaking suspicion that something was going on and he doubted it was going to be something he liked. He loved kids and one of the few things he regretted about being a vampire was that he couldn’t have children…however that didn’t mean he wanted to see his girlfriend break the law. At least more than normal.

Zan let out a small breath he had not realized he was holding in. So it was a friend of hers. Then things would be okay right? She seemed alright with it. Just kind of surprised maybe. But maybe she was just not expecting this person and they just came over to say hi? Who knew. But it seemed okay. Bek was hardly freaking out, and she was far from nervous. So that settled Zan down quite a bit. If Bek was okay then he was as well. If she started freaking out, he would too which would only lead to him disappearing for a time. IF she smiled and giggled he'd be just fine. He relied heavily on the people he looked up to. The smallest of cuts could be turned into a death sentience if Bek saw it that way.
But she just set him on the sofa, and smiled. Everything would be fine. He should not freak out. Bek had a life before he came into it. It's not like he lived her long, he only just got here. Most of his time spent here has been sleeping, though he almost felt like he's always lived here. Still she had a life, and maybe she had some plans that she forgot about. He kind of took all attention off EVERYTHING there for a while. So it was understandable. So he slid himself off the sofa and went over to the nearest wall. He sat next to it and allowed the very tip of his finger to begin tracing a small green design around the purely white wall. Swirling around in circles, which branched out to squares and triangles. Half way through he'd change the color to something contrasting the first, making a rather interesting piece of art.
Zan smiled at her comment. "Alex said girls have cooties." Zan protested to the girl friend comment, speaking in a matter of fact kind of way, as if he knew what he said was true, and he was schooling Bek in it. Which he kind of was, what did she know about the inner workings of a young male? He was still a little confused on the whole concept. But his peers would tease each other about having girl friends. At his age, it was less of a good thing. Give him another year or two, and he'd be walking around with 5 or 6 girlfriends on any typical day. He was still in the cootie phase. Not that Bek was a girl. There was a clear difference between a girl with cooties (between the ages 4ish till 7ish.) and a girl with out cooties (all other ages). Still. cooties were cooties.
But any which way, cooties or no cooties, he was just happy making his little drawling. Totally contest coloring on his little spot on the wall. It was starting to turn into a pretty little kaleidoscope, all different shapes and colors, starting from a dot in the center moving further out. He hardly had to trace every line, he only really needed to touch a space on the wall for it to branch out into the design in his head. But he at least traced the outlines of each shape before it filled itself in, almost instantly.
The door clicked open and he could hear a male voice along side Beks. But he did not pay it any attention. He pretty much ignored it really. That is until the door opened a lot more, and there bright as day stood a very very tall man. Zan froze like a deer in head lights, as he looked at the new man walking inside the home. Zan looked pretty fearful. In the same instant, the room around Zan turned to a pure white color, from the sofa to the floor, the walls, even the TV all white. Like a big old bottle of white out covered the whole surface of the room. Zan got a little overzealous with the hiding his little coloring page on the wall. He did not mean to but he got a little... freaked.
Zan knew just what the guy was. He could tell by the energy in the room, teeth, thats all the knew teeth. He knew what that was, what it meant. Teeth, just like Bek, yet different. He was no Bek. As soon as their eyes locked, Zan just knew, it was almost as if the man walking in the door, changed putting on the special face he had when feeding. Put that face on looked Zan right in the eyes, before looking away, normal again. Nothing happened. Everything was normal, the guy at the door looked normal, but when their eyes connected, even for a second, Zan's mind saw the mans face flash to a creature far more fearsome then any normal human. The blue eyes of the man, just looked right through Zan, like Zan was a meal. That's how he felt, totally lost in the open, helpless. His heart began to pound against his chest, his palms started to sweat, if he were not careful he'd surly start to lose his reality, and begin to turn. Zan slowly reached his hand to his mouth, and maneuvering around his slightly parted lips, he managed to tap his front teeth. Bek had said Vampire. That was the official name for it. But Zan could not connect the words, he just knew the teeth was a very very dangerous tool for both Bek and this man, only he trusted Bek, and did not fear her, never really feared her. But this man here.... he just did not like him, did not like those teeth of his.
Truth be told, he should fear Bek as well. But there was something there deep in her heart that he saw as good. Not hat he did not see it with the man. He just could not feel the good intentions from the man yet. Anyway, men were always.... meaner then their female counter parts. Zan lived in a pretty sexist world. Men were stronger then women. Could he fight Bek off, if things were different? Never. But Bek had saved him on their first meeting, she made the mean guys go away. She established on their very first sighting that she was good. He just kind of walked in. Zan was no good with strangers, they almost always freaked him out, and he generally ran away from them.
But a stranger with scary teeth. That was a whole new sensation, Zan was not sure he was able to handle. He knew a little about Vampires, what he read in books, thought still the concepts did not connect. Not yet. He just knew that within his heart he knew to keep far far away from people like them. People with those teeth. Bek had them, and she might be good, but there was always an exception. Still. He was scary. Zan as slowly as he could began to scoot backwards towards the sofa. After one or two scoots he pretty much got up and dived behind the sofa. Only when he disappeared from view, hidden behind the sofa, did he pull on the blanket, thrown over it's arm, and take cover under it. He usually hide under a bed, but he had to make do, the blanket would have to protect him from the man. So long as he was under something, he could not been seen, herd, smelt. He'd be safe. Or so that's how it worked in the mind of a 6 year old. Monsters could never penetrate the power of the blanket. So long as he was under this blanket he felt oddly safe. Again, the blanket was a very powerful tool.
((Hopefully this is alright Britt. Drama=good. So DEAL! >.<))

----------------------- [/b] -----------------------[/b]
Rebekah could hear the tone of his voice and she bit her bottom lip. She could tell he was just as confused as he was angry probably. "Noah..." She began and stopped finally motioning for him to enter the house now so that he could meet Zan. Rebekah tried to think about the best way to spin it all and make it sound good. How exactly do you make a kidnapping sound like a good thing? Well, for one, Zan wanted to come home with her, it wasn't like she took him against his will, so that was something at least.
They again, she also had the fact that he was being abused and unloved in that home, so why not take him away from all of that and give him a better life? Rebekah feared that Noah would tell her that she would be a horrible parent and that she couldn't take care of Zan, and maybe he was right, she didn't know the first thing about being a parent type figure for someone else, someone that relies on you for everything. So he wouldn't be wrong about it if he said it, but then again, what first time mother does know what they are doing? Very few probably.
"Sure you can stay here a few days." Rebekah told him, though it would probably be weird having... fun time with Noah with Zan just a few doors down from hers. Still, she didn't mind her boyfriend staying here, in fact she liked it. "Just... be careful around the kid, he is a little... skittish." Rebekah said, and as she said this the whole room turned white and she did her best to remain calm about it, acting as if it were natural. She didn't want to freak out on Zan as well that would probably cause him to freak out and that wasn't gonna help anyone out.
She did let out one little gasp when it happened, but it wasn't loud enough for Zan to hear, unless he too had vampire hearing. "Its ok, he does that." Rebekah said to Noah, hoping he wouldn't freak out over it as well. She turned to introduce Zan to Noah but he was gone. She looked hard for him. "Oh no, not again." Rebekah said to herself, last thing she needed was Zan being invisible right now. She looked around for him and walked to where she left him on the couch but didn't see him she felt for him and must of looked really crazy to Noah feeling the air like that.
"Hang on, I got to find him." Rebekah said softly to Noah. She looked behind the couch and saw a blanket in the shape of a child and giggled a little bit. "Wait at the door Noah." She told her boyfriend and slid behind the couch so that she was out of sight of Noah and sitting next to Zan. She smiled and placed a hand on where she guessed his head was and just shook her head. "Zan sweetie, its ok, you can trust Noah." Rebekah said to him, he probably wasn't invisible, not if he was hiding under a blanket, it would be pointless to be under a blanket and invisible at the same time.
"Even if you couldn't trust him, you have me here. I have... a lot of years on him and I am stronger then him, he would never hurt you. Not that he would ever hurt you. He works with kids, he likes kids, he is a good guy Zan." Rebekah said to him with a giggle. Noah was probably head and shoulders above her in the goodness department and probably a lot more. If Zan can trust Rebekah, then surely he can trust Noah. Rebekah will never be as good as Noah, and that was just a fact that she accepted a long time ago, no way would he hurt Zan.
Rebekah tried to grab at the blanket to remove it. "Zan, is it ok if I remove the blanket, I promise I won't let any harm ever come to you, no matter what, as long as Bek is around, you are the safest person on the face of the whole wide world." Rebekah said to him, trying to coax him out of his hiding place. She pulled on his blanket gently to see if he would let her remove it.

- - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - - He followed the woman that held his heart with trepidation, not sure what he was getting himself into. Okay, no scratch that, he wasn't sure what Rebekah was getting them into. He loved her for her compassion if that's what it was however something told him that it was more than she decided to adopt a kid. Clearly something was going on and while a small part of him told him to either scream at her for stupidity the other side couldn’t help but think about the two of them raising a child together. Okay, clearly he needed to get his priorities in check and make sure the kid was okay before he did anything else.
Not that he didn’t trust Rebekah because he did however he also knew that children were a lot different than adults and if someone didn’t have experience with kids then that could easily go one way or another. He hoped that everything was okay but at the same time he couldn’t think of where exactly Rebekah had gotten this kid. He prayed she had actually adopted him (not by legal means since technically it’s hard to be legal as a vampire) and not just kidnapped some kid off the street.
No, Rebekah wouldn’t do that…however he knew he needed to focus on the matter at hand and not his internal ramblings. His eyes rose as the kid clearly wigged out and turned the whole room white...furniture included apparently...and then hid under a blanket. He smiled fondly because he could clearly remember his own sister who had taken a blanket with her wherever she went when they were kids as she always found that hiding under a blanket could save you from anything. He remembered her hiding on the sinking ship (even though she was a young woman by this time) hoping that the Titanic was not sinking however he and his father and brother had finally convinced her that it was indeed sinking.
Pulling out of his thoughts and focusing on the matter at hand he felt chagrin that the little boy was scared of him. Usually kids loved him but clearly this little one did not like him all too well at the moment. He knew that Rebekah had told him to wait but no, he wasn’t going to wait. He was going to make sure that the young boy knew he meant no harm. He wouldn’t come near him until he loosened up but if there was one thing he knew how to handle it was children. He was a teacher after all.
“I like the furniture.” He told her loudly, though not too loud so that it scared the young boy, but loud enough to let him know that he was in the room. “Though I’ll admit it does remind me of a hospital I went to a few years back.” He stated, shooting her a wink. “I wonder if you could use a splash of color. I know my kids love to give me ideas for colors for my house. Know anyone who could help?” He asked, hoping to draw the young boy out. He hadn’t caught much before walking in but he had noticed the colors before the stark white. He also wanted him to ask about his children. Not that he had kids but he did teach them.
Hopefully his plan would work, if not, that’s what improvision was for.

FREKY CREEPY! Things just bugging him. What was it... why.. when. So many things running around Zan's head, and all he could do was hide under this blanket, as good as invisible. As good as gone. It really just made him safe, feel safe, more or less. The power of a blanket in the mind of a young boy was a very very strong thing. Where as back at the boys home he might be invisible under this blanket, the blanket adding that extra security from all things monster. The blanket would help him feel safe enough that naturally he'd become visible. A good blanket did him wonders. And this was the perfect kind. It was one of those nice and thick blankets, with no holes in it. It was heavy, adding some weight, so he knew it covered his whole body. Plus it was now all white, just like the rest of the room, You could not be any more invisible then Zan was now, unless of course you had his special little gift. He had to hand it to Bek. He did feel safer with her around. But not enough to get rid of the blanket completely. He allowed her to tug on it, gathering a little bit of the blanket but not enough to uncover Zan what so ever. Now of course there had been more blanket to one side, less on the other. Not super safe. If you were gonna be safe from the monsters you had to be in the middle, monsters cant lift the whole blanket up, but maybe a corner or so. If they see you they get you. With being in the middle, there's enough fabric to keep you nice and safe. But it was a start, letting her pull a little. He was moving towards the edge further and further.
Zan shook his little head holding onto the blanket when it was taken far enough, a little light peeking in from one side. That was good enough. Still fully under the blanket, but if you tried hard enough you could see Zan's little feet, which were skin color not white, like his clothing. They got caught in the cross fire. But that's what happens. At least you could see his feet, his little legs. Reaching up, you could see one little hand floating from the outside of the blanket, the rest of him being covered. Zan made his cheesy showing all the teeth he can, of course no one could see it the dang blanket was in the way, but he let his little finger tap his teeth. Showing more so Bek that he knew he was a scary monster. Zan did not like scary monsters.
Once his finger tapped his teeth through the blanket, his little hand disappeared back under the blanket. Zan got on his little hands and knees and crawled his way into Bek's lap, taking a seat, in the process, lifting the blanket up like a tent so he could look up at Bek. "Like the movie?" He asked. Of course referring to movies where the hero kicked the bad guys butts, like hard core. With the BLAM and the ZING And the BAG kind of things going on, the ones in comics, movies, video games. The old school stuff. Not the blood and guts that goes on now a days. He did not want Bek to REALLY hurt anyone, but in a comic once the big old BLAM fills the page, the bad guys ends up dead, or s/he just poofs. That's more of what Zan was looking for, the poofing effect.
Of course the blanket was right back down again when he saw the big bad man come around the corner. He was hiding once again, or in Zan minds he was totally out of sight from any big bad wolf.. or in this case guy with super scary teeth. Safe under his blanket, Zan decided he'd answer. "There is a little boy next door." Zan spoke, pretty loud his little arm sticking out to his side pointing to his left, where the door was. This might have been a dumb idea to announce himself like that, but he was in Bek's lap, which gave him a little more of a confidence booster, and the blanket was fulling covering him now. Even his feet disappeared. He was hidden by the blanket. So he was just safe. After a second of pointing he let his head rest more on Bek's shoulder, his arms wrapped around her shoulders in a hug. Was there really a boy next door? Zan had no idea, his plan was more or less trick him into thinking there was a boy next door to help with the color choices so he'd leave... Right.... that was the best plan he had. Get the scary teeth guy outta the house then LOCK DOWN. That was of course the plan. Now if there really was a boy next door.... wait.. is there a next door? Zan had been asleep when he was brought into the house, so he honestly has no idea where he is. It was pretty quiet so he was not RIGHT next to the house next door... assuming there was one. Maybe they were out in the forest.
((Look at Zan being all mean to Noah!! LOVE YOU BRITT! <3 Don't Worry Zan's gonna be goofy soon enough.))

She giggled at Noah when he talked about the room looking like a hospital. "Yeah well, I am redecorating." She said as she approached Zan, It was hard to see him, but she knew he was there. Part of her wanted to take Noah upstairs and have her way with him, the greedy selfish part. But she also knew she had to take care of Zan now, that he was most important to her. So she tugged on the blanket trying to get it off of him. When his grip on it became much tighter, she stopped, knowing that he didn't want it off just yet.
She could of course rip it off, his strength was no match for hers, but she knew better then to do that. He was still visible, which was a plus, and she didn't want to make matters worse by him vanishing for real. She watched as he pointed to his teeth, which was the sign he used to describe her. "Yes, Noah is like me. Well not exactly like me, not as old as me." Rebekah told Zan, getting the hint. Finally the kid crawled up into her arms, a move she was use to by now and was hoping he would do as it meant he might feel braver now.
Finally he revealed his face to her and only her, making sure to keep it hidden from Noah as he spoke about like in the movies. She wasn't 100% sure what he meant by it, as she hasn't seen a ton of modern movies in the short time she has been awake, but she got the gist of it. He was talking about her protecting him like the good guys protected the people in the movies from the bad guys. She nodded her head at him gently. "Don't worry, I will protect you against him if he tries something, but he won't, Zan. I promise." Rebekah told him.
She then watched him point a certain direction and saying that there was a little kid next door. She assumed he was mentioning the fact that Noah said the room needed some color and asked if she knew anyone could help. This was sort of a problem, as the house was a little bit off the beaten path. There weren't many houses nearby, at least not within a stones throw of the Mikaelson household. But she wasn't about to tell Zan that and have him freak out anymore then he already was. She just smiled at his comment about there being another boy he could ask.
"Zan, you trust me right?" Rebekah asked him. She wondered if he knew what trust even was, but that wasn't the point. "You know I will protect you and always be there for you right. Well Noah is always there for me. He trusts and protects me. He is always there for me." Rebekah told Zan, trying to make Noah seem like the good guy that he was. "No matter what I did, no matter how bad I was, he was my Rebekah." She continued, she hoped that it was still true now that this was happening, she didn't know how Noah would react when he found out the adoption wasn't exactly legal.
"So in a way, if you trust me, and I trust him, then that means you can trust him to right? It doesn't matter what he is, I am the same as him, so if you can trust me even though I am what I am, then you can trust him even though he is what he is, right?" Rebekah tried explaining, she really needed Noah's support in this, rather he wanted to help raise Zan or not, she at least needed his advise at first. She then showed Zan her bracelet. "He gave me this. Don't you think that someone who could give such a pretty gift won't hurt anyone?" Rebekah asked him with a smile.

- - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - - He was pissed...really really pissed. What the hell had she been thinking? After everything they had JUST gotten over with her turning his damn sister she now kidnaps a fucking child? What the hell was the matter with her?! He loved this woman more than he could possibly begin to tell but he had had enough! He had gotten a phone call from Kathy earlier asking for his help as something was wrong with Anthony and AJ but he had told her that he couldn’t come and help…maybe it was time to take a break from Richmond. His classes were almost over for the semester and he could easily be gone for a month during winter break.
He bit back his aggravation at her to try and not scare the young boy however he didn't know if it worked since it was clear this kid was petrified. He wanted nothing more than the pick him up and tell him everything was going to be alright, but he could easily see that would not be the best idea. Instead he sighed and lightened his tone. “Well I guess then I’ll get his help. Thanks bud.” He told him before shooting a glare at Rebekah though luckily since Zan was still under the covers he wouldn’t see it since he doubted it would win him over any brownie points.
“Can I speak to you in the hallway for a moment?” He asked through clenched teeth though he tried to keep his tone gentle. Once they were in the hallway he whirled around on her and glared. “You kidnapped a kid Rebekah.” He told her bluntly. “I don’t even know what to say to you right now. Every time I think we get over something you go and do something else that I cannot deal with!” He hissed, his hands clenched into fists as he paced. He wouldn’t give her a chance to talk, instead he held his hand up and silenced her before she could begin.
“I am leaving for a month to help a friend. When I get back MAYBE we’ll try and work things out if you can figure out that you can’t always listen to impulsive thoughts that run around in your head. That kid might have a family out there looking for him and now you’ve got him brain washed…he’s scared of me and yet you could do more damage than I could. I am leaving…don’t call me for a while. I need some space and you need to figure out what your priorities are.” He stated before walking out, resisting the urge to slam the door behind him.
He was not a happy person.
