Oz couldn't believe his luck, he couldn't believe that he met Jade and that she liked him. He couldn't believe that he, Daniel "Oz" Osbourne was able to pluck up the courage to ask Jade out, but he did, and her answer shocked him more then anything else. Jade said yes to Oz. Oz really didn't have a plan, he hasn't really dated for 5 years, so when she said yes he couldn't come up with what they should do for their first date at first. So when Oz asked her if she wanted to go out for dinner, and that he knew about this place because of a friend of his.

So Oz told her to meet him at 8 PM at Pete's Bar and Grill. Maybe it wasn't the classiest place to go out on a date, but they could have fun, Oz can show off his probably dismal pool skills, and probably get schooled pretty hard at the game by Jade. There was darts, drinks and food, so maybe for the first official date it made sense, as it wasn't to overly romantic and they were suppose to take things slow and see where things lead before they got to serious. So Pete's Bar and Grill was kind of the best place in reality, at least for a first date that was.

Arriving at the bar and grill, Oz entered the familiar building. He hadn't been here but one time a few weeks ago when he moved to Richmond. He sat down at the bar and when the bartender asked him what he wanted to drink, Oz just ordered a beer and waited patiently for his drink. Part of Oz wondered if Jade thought that he was trying to be a cheapskate or something by not asking her to go to a fancier place with him for their first date, but he hoped she didn't think that this was a case, he want'ed to keep things casual for now until they got to know each other better.

Oz was getting a little anxious as well. It was getting close to 8 PM already and he was wondering if she was even gonna show up. Jade didn't seem to be the type to stand up a guy that she told she liked and wanted to get to know better. Oz looked over at the stage, they apparently had an open mic night every thursday. Oz smiled to himself, he had good news to tell Jade on the musical front as well, if she still wanted to go out with him.

Jade was nervous she couldn't lie there which was why it was taking her so long to get ready, she was suppose to be meeting up with Oz by pm. But if she didn't hurry it up he was going to think she stood him up. Which was the last thing that she wanted, she didn't want Oz thinking she wasn't going to show. She really liked Oz lot and hoped that maybe just maybe something more would happen between them. She could see them become close and more then just friends. But she was going to take this slow, after all she didn't want to mess this up.

After Jade was dressed and all ready to go she made her way out the door as fast as she could, she had been staying at a motel for the time being. She had been meaning to ask Elena and Jeremy if she could stay with them. But she really just didn't have the heat to bug them, Jade knew that they had a lot on there plate as is. So she really didn't want to bug them and bring them the trouble. But she did plan on getting in touch soon, they really did have a lot to catch up on. It had been so long since they talked, god only knows what Elena has been up to.

Finally she had made it to the place going as fast as she could, she pretty much slid parked the car and got out running. She couldn't have him thinking that he was standing her up because that was not the case at all. She was just worried about how good she wanted to look she had gotten kind of late that was all. After all she wanted this night to be perfect and magical.

She walked into the doors to the bar looking around hoping to spot him, but so far nothing at all. She began to worry and get scared that she was to late. But just when she was sacred and about to lose hope, there he was sitting at the bar waiting for her. Jade walked up giving him a big smile, so happy to see him. 'Hey you long time no see, so what you having I will have the same." Said Jade. She took a seat right next to him, still not able to the the smile off of her face.

Oz didn't like thinking bad thoughts about people. But the later it got, the more he thought that he was right, she stood him up. Oz hated thinking that about her, because she was really nice and great, but it was what he thought for a few moments. He planned on finishing his beer and getting up and leaving, but before he could do that he finally saw her sit down next to him. Oz smiled at her, for some reason not being able to hold back his emotions. He was so glad that she didn't stand him up like he feared and he made a note to never think that with her again.

He actually felt really guilty about it, suspecting her of standing him up. Oz should of known Jade would never stand him up, she was not like that. "Hey, you look great tonight." Oz told her as she set down next to him before turning to the bartender. "Two more beers?" He asked him before looking back at Jade. Oz wasn't much of a drinker unless it was social situations like this one. Oz wondered what kept her so long, why she was late, but he didn't want to ask, he didn't want to seem like he was mad about it.

At first when he thought she wasn't gonna show he was upset, sure, but he wasn't mad that she was late. Stuff happens, and she is here now, so that is all that mattered. Finally the bartender served them their beers. "You don't seem like a beer girl." Oz told her with a smile, he has learned to smile a lot more recently, especially when it came to Jade. She just brought it out of him, almost as well as Willow could. He took a sip of his fresh beer waiting for her to do so as well.

"Find the place ok?" Oz asked her, hoping that, that is why she was late arriving. He didn't mind really that she was, but he was just worried and sad that she wasn't gonna show up, and he was glad to be proven wrong. She really did look beautiful tonight, but Oz couldn't bring himself to say something like that cause he was afraid it would make her think that it mattered too much. Sure he liked that she was great to look at, but it was the fact she was even better to talk to that had Oz wanting to see Jade more and more.

She felt so bad about being late, she could tell by the look on his face he was starting to get worried she wasn’t going to show. Which she didn’t blame him she took forever to get ready she knew that she owed him so kind of explanation to why she was so late. But at the same time she really didn’t know what to say, she was so shy to say “Oh sorry I was nervous so I took forever getting ready.“ She didn’t want to say that, one because she didn’t need him knowing she was nervous and two it was embarrassing taking that long. So really she was stuck on words here.

She gave him a shy like smile with cheeks turning red when he said she looked great, it made her happy knowing that seeing that’s what really took her so long. “Well thanks you look good too, still settling in ok?” She asked him. She then wondered if he ever got that job that he wanted so much, playing in that band. She could tell that when she met him he really wanted that job. “Oh did you get that job playing in that band?” She asked him prying and hoping he did.

He seemed kind of shocked to hear that she like to drink beer, but then again there weren’t a lot of girls that did. “Well I like a lot of stuff to drink, my favorite is something fruity you know like pineapple and vodka, or orange juice and Vodka. But when I want something simple and not to hard I get a beer, I‘m not a big drinker not something I do all the time.” Said Jade. “So what do you really like to drink? “

The Jade found the best moment to tell him why she was late, it was a great way to fix the fact she felt so bad for taking so long. “Well actually no its what took me so long to get here, I got lost trying to find it. I can tell that its been a long while that I have been in this town. “Said Jade. “But then again most the time I was here I babysat Elena and Jeremy, so I really didn’t get out to much here. Now that I have I really I’m really starting to like it here. How about you?”

"Its ok, I am nervous too." Oz told her honestly with a smile. He actually found it kind of adorable that she was nervous. She had nothing to be nervous about, as Oz already liked her and he was the one that he thought should be nervous about dating her, as he was completely into her. "You have nothing to be nervous about." He added, hoping to calm her down, he just looked at her, doing his best to hide the grin from forming on his face. He was really glad to know her and the fact that she was nervous to see him made him feel good deep down inside.

"I don't think I have ever been as nervous then when I asked you out." Oz told her truthfully. No audition, no date before, not even Willow made him that nervous. He didn't know why, but asking Willow out was easier then asking Jade out. Maybe cause it was a few years ago and he was younger, and more naive back then, and it was completely different asking Jade out now then back then. But if didn't matter. "Thanks." Oz replied when she said he looked good too. She then wondered if he got the part in the band or not, and Oz was almost excited to tell her.

"Yes, I did. We have our first gig next weekend." Oz told her not able to hold back the smile this time. He was really happy that he had gotten the gig as now it seemed like stuff was going right for him. First he got back with his friends, Xander, Willow and Buffy, and then he met Jade and she agreed to go out with him, and then get he gets the gig and now he is on an actual date with Jade. What more could he ask for? He nodded at her explanation on what she liked to drink and then thought for a moment about his answer to her question.

"Well, I don't normally drink myself unless it is with a friend or on a date." Oz replied to her with a smile. "But I really only drink beer in these cases." He added. He nodded at her question. "To be honest, for the first time in a long time I feel like I belong." Oz told her truthfully, part of it was her, but part of it was everything else going on for him right now. He hasn't felt this at home since his high school years, but even back then, being the only werewolf of the bunch, not that people made him feel unwelcome, he just felt different then everyone else.

Jade guessed that it must have been all over her face, or maybe she was speaking out loud again something she has a bad habit of doing at times. But she was glad that he knew because she was starting to feel a lot better, plus it was nice knowing she wasn’t the only one. It seemed he to was nervous about all this, something that she never would have guessed. It wasn’t that often that a guy got that way, which told her he was very different something that she loved. “You are nerous to? I’m sorry but to me you seem like the cool clam and collective type, I guess I was wrong?” She asked him with a smile.

She didn’t feel so sacred and nervous anymore, she felt a lot better knowing they felt the same. This was just another thing that told them they were meant for each other, another thing that made her realize meeting him was fate. “Really why were you so nervous about asking me out? I mean you are cute I’m sure you have asked a lot of girls out just as they have you.” Said Jade. “And I’m sure they jump up with open arms when you asked because of how great of a guy you are. I’m so lucky getting to be here with you now. “ She really felt that way getting to find a guy just like him, Jade was really starting to get sacred there for a while. Worrying she would never find anyone to share her time with.

She was so happy to hear that Oz had gotten the gig with his new band, she was rooting for him all the way hoping he would get it. “Oh I’m so happy that you got it, I’m coming to your first gig for sure.” She said in a excited like tone. “I will be there rooting you on all the way. I mean that is if you don’t mind me coming.”

She smiled when he said that it was the first time he felt like he belonged, because she felt the same way he did. This was the first time in forever that Jade felt like she found her place, found where she was suppose to be and that was here with Oz. “I know just what you mean, I feel the same way. Since I have met you things are starting to feel right, like this is where I belong Here with you.” She said while placing her hand on his, smiling at him.

"Normally I am." Oz told her when she asked. Normally Oz was calm and collected like she said. Even in the face of a vampire he didn't seem to loose his cool. That should tell Jade that, that is how awesome she is. That is a testament to how beautfiul she is that it would make him very nervous like that. Willow was awesome to, and nothing would change that. Maybe he would of been nervous with Willow back in the day if he wasn't new at everything, but now he didn't want to mess anything up and it made him fell nervous to be with her.

"Not a lot." Oz answered, really only then Willow and now Jade, and a few others scattered here and there, he didn't ask very many girls out, and the last few years when he got asked out he said no mostly, as he was to busy training and such. It was really important to him and he couldn't be distracted and he couldn't risk hurting or killing them. Not it was different, he wasn't gonna hurt them, he wasn't training, he was single and he was ready to begin dating again, and she was just the kind of person he wanted to be with, kind and sweet.

"I'm glad to be with you too." Oz told her, he was happy that she liked being with him as much as he liked being with her. This night was already turning out pretty good for Oz, and his nervousness from before was gone now. Oz smiled at her, glad that she offered to come to his first gig. He nodded. "Of course you can come." Oz said to her, he would actually hate if she didn't show up. It just somehow felt right that she showed up, though it would feel awkward for him if Jade and Willow met at the concert, but he can figure that out later.

She then admitted that she felt the same way, like she belonged here with him. Oz returned Jade's smile and let her hold his hand. He leaned in and kissed her on the cheek. Oz figured it wasn't out of line, it just felt like a good moment to kiss the girl on the cheek. "So what should we do first? Darts, food or pool?" Oz asked her curiously, wondering what she wanted to do now that both of them were not nervous any more and they knew they were suppose to be together tonight and hopefully for a long time.

It made Jade kind of happy to know that he was nervous, because that meant he really did in fact like her. He said that he usually was clam at times which was a dead give away. Jade was the same way she usually wasn’t this sacred on dates, but again there was just something about him that made her feel this way. She was also shocked and happy that he had not been out with a lot of girls, because then she didn’t have to see or hear about all the girls he had been with, or who might want him back. “Well I cant believe that you have not had dates with a bunch of girls, I mean you are just so cute and sweet Oz.” Said Jade.

Jade was just starting to feel better but then some butterflies came back to her stomach, he said that he was glad to be there with her to which made her so happy. She felt like in that moment she could just melt in the seat. Her heart begin to beat faster she was so happy. She gave him a soft sweet smile happy that he said she could come to his gig. “Cool I cant wait I will be there rooting you on right in the front of the crowd.” She told him “So you think any of your friends might be there, maybe I can meet some of them?” She really hoped that it was ok she wanted to, she just cared and wanted to get to know him more as well as the people important to him.

She felt him hold her hand tightly as well as kissing her on the cheek. Jade knew that her cheeks had to have turned red, from how shy she was. She wanted that kiss from him so much, but she couldn’t lie she hoped for something more. She wanted so much for him to kiss her on her lips, but she was to shy to make that first move.

They were trying to figure out what they wanted to do while they were hanging there drinking, but her answer became all to easy when he said something about playing pool. “How about some pool!” Jade said in excitement. “ But I have to tell you I’m really good at it, just so you know ahead of time.”

"Thanks, so are you." Oz replied, he was glad that she seemed to think he was cute and sweet, and she was too, and he didn't feel so nervous anymore. She liked him, and now he knew it for sure and he didn't have to worry about it anymore and he can just be his normal laconic self. The only thing left he had to worry about was breaking the news to Willow. He still didn't know if Willow would even care or not that he was with Jade now, and if she did care, it would upset Oz greatly, cause even though they were done, they were still friends and he didn't want to hurt her.

She then mentioned the concert gig he had lined up and if any of his friends would be there. There was a time when his friends would never miss a show, unless they were really busy with, you know, saving the world and all. He guessed that they would still show up if he asked them to, but he wasn't sure, its been a few years. He knew Willow was gonna be there. "I will invite them, I think they will come." Oz told her finally, he didn't know if he should tell Willow about Jade before the show or not, as he didn't want her to be upset at the concert, he didn't want her upset at all.

It was gonna be awkward though having the first love of his life meet his current girlfriend, and at a concert was probably not a good place for such a thing. Oz was snapped out of that thought when she told him she was really good at pool. Oz just shrugged. "Then you probably have me beat easily." He replied Oz wasn't the worst pool player in the world but Jades confidence in being able to do really well at it was a little bit intimidating to say the least. She sounded like she could kick Oz's butt at it easily if she wanted to that is.

Oz followed her over to the pool table. Oz then racked up the balls for them and got the table ready. He wouldn't mind losing to a girl but part of him wanted to show off and impress her, but that might not happen, so it was what it was. "You should break it." He told her finally.

It seemed the date was going to go a whole lot smoother now that they nervousness had gone away. She knew now this was going to be a night that they would always remember. She just wondered as she sat there what the future held for them. She begin to wonder if years from now if she be with him. But then again who knows were Jades Journey will take her then? She could be dead by then for all she knew, shot down by a hunter. But she really hoped that wasn’t the case, she really wanted to be a with the person of her dreams. Being Wolfs together running beside one another, it was a long wanted dream of hers.

Jade had a big smile come to her face when he said something about her meeting his friends. She liked Oz so much so it made her happy knowing she would get to know more about him, and meet the people that meant a lot to him. Plus he couldn’t wait to see what kind of a show that he was going to put on. She knew that he was going to be amazing! “You should invite them, I would love to meet your friends.” She said with a smile.

Jade was having a pretty good time so far and it was only going to get better, or maybe worse? She loved playing pool and was really good at, but she really didn’t want to beat Oz and make him look bad. It wouldn’t really make for a great date making him feel bad like that. “Oh you don’t know that you could beat me.” Said Jade trying to give him some hope.

They walked over beers in hand getting ready to play some pool, she watched as he racked the table. “So you want me to break it then? All righty then.” She then walked over grabbing the stick getting into the position. She landed over taking the table concentrating on the shot, taking it making the shot as three went in. “Well the first was solids so I guess you are stripes then.” She said with a cute like smile. She walked over taking a drink of her beer, waiting and watching for Oz to take his shot.

"I would but..." Oz began, things were different now. The old him when he was in high school, would of invited them in a heartbeat and he knew that they were likely to show up. The new him was less confident that they would be able to attend. "They have their own lives now, a lot has changed since High School." He told her. It didn't help any that Oz was basically MIA the last few years while they were off saving the world from certain doom. He kinda of abandoned them to deal with his own selfish problems. Not that Oz thought they resented what he did, they knew he had to do it, and that was fine for them, but he still felt a little bad about it.

They welcomed him back with open arms and invited him into their home, but at the end of the day, that didn't effect them to much. Inviting them to something when they may or may not be busy was a different story. Maybe Oz was being a bit cynical that they wouldn't show, but he honestly didn't know anymore. They seemed to be the same as before, and he changed somewhat, but underneath it all, he was the same person as before, maybe even more talkative then before, but that was the only major difference in that situation. He shrugged, he would ask them to come, but he wasn't gonna expect them too, that wasn't fair to them.

"I don't want you to let me win, ok." Oz said hearing the sound of her voice. He appreciated her giving him hope that he could win, but he didn't want her to let him win. "But thanks." Oz said with a smile, he appreciated that she was kind enough to offer him hope and he liked her more cause of it, but he seriously doubted that he had any shot at all to beat her. Maybe lady luck was on his side tonight, he did get the hottest girl ever to agree to a date with him after all so who knows?

When she finally broke the balls he gasped, yep this was gonna be a long bad game for Oz, and he knew it. He just managed a smile at her and took his own shot, managing to get one in and shocking himself. He shrugged. He didn't think one would go it, but it did.

She could tell that by the way he was talking he didn’t get to see the people he loved that much anymore, it seemed that they were busy with lives of there own. Which made jade wonder how her friends were, she knew that they to be living there own lives now. Cara had to off living the dream she always wanted, and Jen had to be an even better artist by now. So many of her friends that she missed, so many times before she wished she could just call them and see them. But she knew that she couldn’t just show up all the sudden. They would have so many questions and wants many answers. Which is something that she can now give them.

“Well I’m sorry that they are off with there own lives, that has to be hard for you. I understand I miss my friends so much, I wish I could talk to them. But they wouldn’t understand. They would want to know where I Have been all this time, if I have been ok.” Said Jade looking down with Sadness. “ Its just so hard, but its easier now that I have you.” Jade loved that she had met Oz, she doesn’t know what she do with out him. She really was starting to feel so much for Oz, he really was beginning to become her everything. She doesn’t know what she do with out him, nor does she even want to think about that.

She smiled real big when he said that he didn’t want her letting him win. “Oh don’t worry I wont, but I’m giving you a heads up ok. Its going to look pretty bad when I whip your butt.” She said with a smile playing around. “Don’t worry I wont whip you to bad, I don’t want to see a cute guy cry. She then went in for her first shot after the break, making the 1 ball in. “Your play.” said Jade. “So other then music what else are you into?” She asked while they played, hoping to get to know him a little bit more. Plus it be nice to keep his mind off the fact she kick his butt.

Oz would never accuse his friends of not caring. They just had so much going on. Willow with Lenore, Buffy with Angel, Xander with, as strange as it was, Faith. Not to mention they were constantly having to save the world from something or another. And they also had to make a living, killing Vampires and demons didn't pay the bills. They were no longer in high school and spending their free time watching Oz perform was not productive on their part. He understood and it was ok, really it was, but it still upset him. He will ask them but he wasn't counting on it.

"Who knows, maybe they will come." Oz said trying to look on the bright side. He knew Lenore, Angel and Faith won't come, unless they were invited by their partner, but he hoped Xander, Willow and Buffy would want to come. He shrugged at the thought, she then changed gears and talked about how she couldn't see her friends. "I know the feeling." Oz said, and he did, he for the longest time could see any of his friends, and when he did come back, Willow was with Lenore. So it was like he felt he should of just stayed away all together sometimes.

They did seem like they wanted him around, but he felt out of place sometimes. Like what they had in high school was long gone. Other times it felt just like he never left. He didn't doubt they wanted him around. He smiled at her. "I am really glad to have met you too." Oz told her, it did make things a lot better now that he knew Jade. Like all was right in the world. He was glad she felt the same way, and though she couldn't replace her friends, she could fill the whole that he felt like he had some times and that was really special.

"I won't cry." Oz replied with a shake of the head. Even if she beat him 10 ways from sunday, he wouldn't cry about it, but he knew she was only joking, he just wanted to pretend to be upset about it. "I like a lot of things. Movies and hanging with my friends, we just had a Harry Potter marathon the other night." Oz told her. "What about you?" Oz asked her with a smile as he missed his next shot, the route has begun.

“Well I’m sure they will come but even if they don’t know that you do have me.” She said with a smile. Jade took Oz hand giving him a smile hoping so much that his friends would come, she could tell that he really did want them there. He was just trying to be the bigger person acting like it didn’t bother or phase him. But Jade knew better she was really starting to understand how Oz thought and worked, and she liked that a lot. It made her realize how close they really were becoming with each other, she really was starting to fall for Oz. There was just something about him, something that she had never seen or felt in anyone else. It wasn’t just the werewolf bond ether, it was just him as a person something about him that Lit up. It was that about him that drew Jade close to him.

Jade didn’t know what she would do with out Oz, he really had made life more fun for Jade gave her more of a reason to live and breath. He was the reason that she was staying her after all. Well that and the fact she has to take school but other then that he is a big part of that. Jade couldn’t think of life now with out him nor does she wanted to, she wants him next her always. With him in her life they could concur and take on anything, anything!

Wanting to know more about Oz she asked what he was into, hoping to spark more of a conversation for them. She smiled real big when he said that he liked Harry Potter, wondering if she had seen the movies at all. “Well I will tell you this, being on the road you read a lot I mean a lot. Tv isn’t so easy to come by living motel after motel, plus there channels suck.” She said with a smile. ’So I have only caught part of what I could on basic. But I have read every book and I love it!”

He wanted to know more about Jade of what she was into, which made her smile knowing he cared about what she was into. “Well you all ready know I love to read, I love music and could listen to anything and everything all day. Pool obviously and I love to just run. Seeing that I’m big on working out and always have been, its about the only real thing I love about being a wolf.” Again being all the activities it school back in the day meant that she had to stay in shape, which is why to this day she still loves staying in shape.

"Thanks, Jade." Oz replied to her with a smile, he was glad he had her to reassure him on the matter. He would love to have his friends show up at his first gig in years, more so then he could ever express in words or on his face, but they knew. They knew that showing up would mean the world to Oz, even if he doesn't say so out loud, that was how close they all are, or at least were at one point, that they knew without a word or facial expression what Oz felt about something, sometimes they accused him of being Emotionless, but they knew better then that, he just didn't show it very well.

But now, he had Jade, so even if they couldn't make it, he had someone to support him. Not that Jade would ever replace them, but she could be a big part of his life none the less, and he was feeling something for her, something he hasn't felt since him and Willow were a thing, and that was love. Oz knew it was only a matter of time when he would be completely in love with her, and he just hoped she was fine with him never really showing it to her. Willow questioned him once on it, but he showed her that he did care and it was the best night of their lives.

"I need to read the books, me and Willow use to read all the time." Oz replied to her, realizing that he said Willow's name for the first time to her. He wondered if he said it any differently, like she would be able to tell who Willow is, was, use to be to him, but still kinda is. "I saw all the movies with them the other night for the first time." He told her, hoping to avoid the subject of Willow at least for now, at least to he found out where he stood with Jade, but things were going good for now, just a little longer till he knew what he should and should not tell her just yet.

"Yeah, we do seem to have energy to spare." Oz replied to her, he was never the athletic sort, unless you count mathletes, but he did seem to have sometimes more energy then he ever needed now that he was a werewolf. "Me too, I was the... smart one of the group." Oz said, deciding to leave out the part that he was held back, on purpose, to have senior year with Willow for now. Not that no one else was smart, he and Willow just seemed to do the most studying, they are all smart cookies.
