----------------------- [/b] -----------------------[/b] Tommy used to work on the docks Union's been on strike He's down on his luck...it's tough, so tough Gina works the diner all day Working for her man, she brings home her pay For love - for love
Bon Jovi was rockin' hard and if the crowd was any indication they were doing a great job. She swayed to the music her hands above her head as she stayed in place. Her years of dance stood her in good stead as she moved and watched the show.
Her hair was flowing down her back in curly waves, feathers with crystal beads swaying with her in the lavender dress that she wore, shoes sparkling in the light. Her makeup was carefully done for the show and she was having a blast. Shifting about to avoid a cloud of smoke she made her way to another part of the floor. Her inner grace allowing her a freedom few others had.
She dodged a guy in a British Invasion shirt with the sleeves cut off. He was making a grab for her and looked somewhat out of it. Probably since he was in ground zero of the cloud of smoke that she avoided.
Moving around to lose herself in the crowd she saw two guys fighting. Beer was starting to fly and she quickly moved out of the way realizing things were getting a bit warm here. Shivering she tried to make her way to the edges of the crowd for breathing room. Anything to make this claustrophobic feeling go away.

He looked at the clock and noticed the time. Stefan was suppose to meet Lexi at the Bon Jovi concert tonight, he drove and finally parked in the parking lot and he was already late. He ran up to the ticket taker and handed them the ticket and ran in.. He groaned as he wore his blue jeans, plain white Tshirt and his leather jacket. He didn't really like the fashion of the 80s, but he had to blend in.
Besides, he looked hot in a leather jacket if he did say so himself. Lexi knew better then anyone on how to bring out Stefan's wild side, so when he got tickets for this thing tonight, that is what he wanted, was to have fun with his best friend, to let loose and show his playful side. But he was to stressed out right now to do so.
Stefan even set up a hotel room for the two, a nice suite that set him back 100 a night, but since it was the 80s, that was considered a lot of money. They didn't have time to meet at the room and decided to meet at the concert, he would be able to spot his best friend in any crowd normally.
No, they both didn't sleep in the same bed, they did have a two bed room, still, it wasn't like Lexi and him never fooled around from time to time. They were only human... well ok They weren't human, but they had human instincts when it came to mating.
Yeah, they had fun, and were best buds, but Stefan never really saw Lexi as anything other then his friend. She kept him grounded, and they had fun, and she kept him living. Not just alive, not just getting by, but enjoying life, however unnaturally long it was. Finally he got to the crowded concert hall, the music blaring loudly. He began looking for Lexi as he pushed his way through the crowd.
Since he was a vampire, he had no problem moving through the crowd and he thought he spotted Lexi, so he went towards her, but it wasn't her. He sighed and accidently bumped into a women. "Oh I am sorry." He said to her, but he knew she wasn't human, even in this crowd he could tell she was a vampire.

----------------------- [/b] -----------------------[/b] Her butt was going to be one gigantic bruise by the end of the night with the way the guys at the concert were playing grabby hands. Sighing she avoided the druggies easily enough. They were mellow enough to not give her grief. She had her long hair up in a banana clip and although people were always asking her where she got her perm she was happy to say it was naturally curly. Of course this didn't mean that the girls liked her for it but hey it wasn't her fault.
She was just trying to lose herself for a little bit. She was bone dead lonely and hated being so pathetic. She knew she had her flaws but it was just hard to make friends. Especially when you were a vampire. She'd gorged herself on animal blood so she didn't feel the cravings and was finding a quiet place to sit and listen and not blow her hearing out for the concert. The crowd was starting to thin out in back and she could watch from here just fine.
She dodged a guy that was sloshing his beer around. Good thing she had reflexes, she'd have hated to smell like a brewery because some guy dropped his cup of beer. Sighing she moved to the left then heard familiar sounds like someone was going to hurl. Dodging out of the way she made her way well clear of the impending mess. If it was a problem she was in another section by now. Sighing she stretched and felt her back pop again. A blissful sound coming from her as her spine settled itself to rights.
The smell of bodies was strong and combined with smoke, perfume and sex she was starting to feel overwhelmed. It made her not realize where she was going for a moment when she bumped into this hot guy in a leather jacket, except he was a vampire, "Oh I'm sorry! I was trying to clear my senses a bit when I bumped into you. Its pretty intense here tonight. My name is Marina, what's yours?" she asked him happily.

"Yeah its hard to concentrate in this environment." Stefan said, agreeing with her and smiling at her. She seemed friendly enough for a vampire. Stefan wondered if she had her emotions on or off, his were currently on and he hoped he would never turn them off again, as he didn't really like himself with them off. He said and did stuff he hated doing and saying. Still Stefan knew that maybe someday he would be forced to turn them off and unleash his inner beast.
Stefan feared that day more then any other day, as it meant he did it for some horrible reason. So doing something horrible because something horrible happens is not a good reason to do said horrible thing. Stefan wondered under what circumstance's would he turn them off for? It would have to be a damn good reason. However, he had Lexi there for him and she will be able to help him hopefully before he did anything to bad to someone.
Still, Marina seemed like a good person, and maybe she knew Lexi, he didn't know all of Lexi's friends, he had met Noah before, someone he didn't really know anything about for like 75 years of knowing Lexi. So he was sure there were others she didn't tell him about. It didn't really matter. He just wonder, really Lexi was his only friend, not counting the people she introduced him to, so he didn't have any friends that Lexi didn't know about.
"I'm Stefan Salvatore." Stefan replied, Marina didn't tell him her last name, but he liked introducing himself by his full name, it was kinda formal and how he would do it back when he was human, so old habits die hard. "You haven't seen a blonde good looking vampire around here have you?" Stefan said, it would of been barely audible to the human ear, and only a vampire standing right in front of him would be able to hear him.

----------------------- [/b] -----------------------[/b] "Its a good vibe though. People are having a good time." she said as she glanced at the crowd around them to make sure they weren't going to be jostled or bumped. She still swayed to the music and smiled, feeling happy.
She felt someone bump her and looked down to see a camera on the ground, "Hey dude!" She called to the person that was next to them, "You dropped this." she said as she handed it back.
"Wow thanks! Wouldn't wanna lose these." the guy said gratefully as he took the disposable camera she handed him.
"Totally get that. Enjoy the show!" Mari waved to him and then turned her focus back to Stefan, "Sorry about that." she took his hand, "Pleased to meet you. My full name's Marina Sinclaire. I never know how formal folks like to be." she grinned at him and leaned in to make it more like they were speaking privately, matching his pitch she shook her head, "No, sorry. You're the first vampire I've seen in a long time. I tend to hang out away from cities. I raise rabbits for food. Bunny diet." she said with a shy smile as she pointed to herself. "This concert just was too much fun to resist so I decided to come out and enjoy it. I'm glad I did."
She thought for a moment, "Salvatore...any relation to Damon Salvatore? I met him in London about a hundred years ago. Horrible flirt but he made me laugh." she said with a happy giggle and wave of her hand. "We danced at a ball, it was fun." the happy look on her face pretty much told the story that that was all they did. There was no attempt to be sensual even though there were couples that were clearly close around them. She was just having fun and chatting. Making sure not to invade his space even though they were surrounded.
She knew some vampires hated to have their personal space invaded so she kept a polite distance until told otherwise. She shifted so Stefan could get a better angle to enjoy the concert. Trying to make sure she wasn't in his way.

"Yeah." Stefan simply said looking around. He didn't mind people having a good time around him. Stefan always had a hard time having a good time, unless Lexi was around, that was the one time he allowed himself to let loose and enjoy life, but he couldn't spot her anywhere. Which means she wasn't there yet, or she was not in his line of view, standing behind someone or something.
Stefan smiled. "Its ok, so, how long have you been here?" Stefan asked, not asking about the concert, he was asking about life. How long had Marina been alive, or undead, or whatever they were. He could tell she was probably older then him, but he didn't know how old. He listened to her describe how she fed. Stefan and her had that in common.
"I only feed on animals to." Stefan told her, though it was honest, he decided to leave out the part that he was a ripper for a long time and he still fought his blood lust even to this day and how bad he got it from time to time. That is why Stefan didn't really like to have fun, because of the stuff he did in his past, he was worried he would take it to far, so when Lexi was around he allowed him self to let loose because he knew Lexi would be there to stop and or help him.
"Damon..." Stefan repeated that name. He hadn't heard it in awhile and no one really talked to him about his wayward brother anymore. "... he is my brother. Haven't really talked to him in a long time." Stefan answered her truthfully. Stefan really wasn't listening or watching the performance on stage, he was to busy looking around for Lexi and wouldn't let himself enjoy himself until he found her.

----------------------- [/b] -----------------------[/b] Stefan seemed more interested in finding his friend than the concert -- Not that Mari could blame him, she'd hate it if she missed a concert with a friend. She focused her attention on him and paused to make sure she could hear him, "I'm 285 years old if you don't count the age I was when I died. I was turned in 1702 after I got polio and was dying. It took some adjusting but my brother helped me through it. Well that, and being a nun before I was turned helped with the self control." she said as she relaxed next to him.
She'd had her time off the rails but that was after the Inquisition had hurt her and it had been very brief. Once there were no more Inquisitors to kill she'd eased off on her murder spree. She'd felt badly but there wasn't a lot she could do about it. She sighed and glanced about some.
"I tend to have rotten luck picking places that end up being hot beds of supernatural activity but mostly I just try to get along as best I can." she said with a shy smile as she looked at him, "Are you okay? You don't have to worry, I don't cause trouble. I like to have fun but I don't go crazy or anything." she reassured him. He seemed like he needed reassurance, "If you're hungry I brought some thermos with me. Its just rabbits blood but it takes the edge off sometimes." She really didn't know what to do given that Stefan seemed highly focused on finding his friend.
He didn't seem too fond of his brother if his tone was any indicator. "Well its good to know my old age hasn't gotten the best of my memory." she said with a gentle shrug, kind of getting the vibe that he didn't want to talk about his brother. "I'll keep an eye out for your friend for you. She's got to be somewhere close by." she offered for lack of anything better to contribute for the moment. She began glancing around the areas he wasn't looking in, figuring that if they were both looking the chances of spotting a blonde vampire were pretty high.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - The crowd was thriving as the musical genius known as Jon Bon Jovi sang his heart out on stage. Normally the adrenalin flowing through the humans around her and getting their blood pumping would have driven her into a frenzy however she was too distracted tonight by one of her favorite musicians on stage, the music that she loved flowing around her, and she was not able to really enjoy any of it since she was extremely late. Okay, so she had planned to be a little late since of course that was her MO but that didn’t mean she had planned to be as late as she was.
I'm a cowboy, on a steel horse I ride I'm wanted dead or alive Wanted dead or alive
As the band played the chorus the entire crowd went nuts, screaming, singing the words that everyone knew, and just generally having an amazing time. She and Stefan were meeting here for his birthday, just as they did every year. Well, they didn’t meet here for his birthday every year but she always made sure to do something for his birthday. This year they had done something different but she had given him the concert tickets for his birthday so this was another birthday celebration…just a bit late. Oh well, not that it mattered as he hated his birthday, but she always convinced him to have a good time and that was all that mattered.
She quickly pushed her way as politely as possible through the crowds as she tried to find Stefan. She wouldn’t be surprised if he had left since she was running so late and he was not a fan of huge crowds such as this since he tended to be more sensitive to human blood than others but she hoped he was still around. She tried listening with her vampire senses but the music, the base, really everything combined made it nearly impossible to even attempt to find him in that, so she had to work with what she had.
Finally she saw Stefan talking to a woman that she couldn’t see as she facing away from her though she seemed pretty from what she could see. Lexi thought briefly about leaving him alone to see if maybe he’d finally make a love connection but figured that the verbal lashing she would get was not worth it so instead she skipped over and smiled sheepishly, kissing his cheek. “Sorry I’m late.” She snickered. “I got…held up? I guess would be the right word for it.” She told him before turning to face his guest, her eyes widening as she took her in.

"Thanks, no I can tell." Stefan said to her as she told him that she didn't cause trouble. It was easy to tell who the vampires without emotions that just wanted to hurt and attack and kill people were, and the vampires who just wanted to live their life, however unnaturally long it might be, the good guys. Stefan had periods of his life where he could of been considered either or.
"Thanks, yeah, you will know her when you see her." Stefan said when she offered to look for Lexi for him. Though at this point Stefan knew that it would just be best to stand in this spot and wait for Lexi to spot him ."So, how long have you been a Bon Jovi fan?" Stefan asked her when he finally felt the presence of Lexi come up to them. He smiled at his best friend.
Stefan remembered his birthday a few months back. She got him to do something crazy and wild, like she did every year, and then, she gave him the ticket, and told him to come to this concert. Stefan really didn't want two birthday bashes at the time, but he warmed up to the thought when he found out it was Bon Jovi. "So good of you to grace us with your presence Lexi." Stefan teased her.
He knew that Lexi just liked to make an entrance and he really didn't mind that she was late, the only thing that mattered was that she was here right now. "Lexi this is Mariana. Mariana, this is my best friend in the world, Lexi." Stefan introduced them with a smile. Stefan decided to leave the part out that he and Lexi had occasional... sleep overs. That was strictly need to know and Mariana didn't need to know.

----------------------- [/b] -----------------------[/b] Mari relaxed once he said he could tell. His tone didn't indicate that he was one of the emotionless vampires so it was easier to be herself. The emotionless ones were dangerous and you always had to watch your back. Her shoulders relaxed, the tension leaving them, "I've been a Bon Jovi fan for a while, just didn't want to go out until now. Just turned out the timing was right." she said as he mentioned Lexi and she looked around for her.
"Its a pleasure to meet you, Lexi. He's been looking for you non stop. I'm glad you could make it." the brunette said happily offering a hand to shake. The happiness in her face showed plainly. "Now you can both relax and enjoy the concert." she looked at how comfortable they were together and asked "Did you guys want to enjoy the concert together? Cause I totally understand old friends needing hang out time and can scoot if you need me to." she offered, not wanting to be a third wheel or anything.
She was just happy he found the person he wanted to enjoy the concert with. He obviously hadn't come to meet new people or anything like that or he wouldn't have worried about another vampire finding him. In Mari's mind that meant a deeper connection than just run of the mill friends. Your average friend you'd meet up with and enjoy the concert till they got there. A special friend made you not enjoy anything till they were there. Mari didn't have anyone like that but she hoped some day she would. It got lonely being by herself and Damon's offer of casual sex, no matter how earth shattering he could potentially be, wasn't her speed. Some day, she'd find the guy that made her world stop and made her want to commit, but she somehow felt that today was not that day.
Inwardly she sighed and shook her head, hiding her sadness behind a smile as she always did. She didn't want to ruin the fun time folks were having. Turning slightly so she wasn't blocking them she listened to the song and waited for them to tell her one way or the other if she could stay. Part of her hoped they would. She needed more friends but she didn't want to ruin their day together. She laughed at herself for waffling so much but it proved just how alone she'd been. The fact that she was debating so small a thing proved she needed to get out more. -----------------------[/b][/center]

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - She winked at Stefan before grinning. "Well you know me, always have to make an entrance." She told him with a laugh. It was definitely true about the blonde vampire though. She always felt the need to make things large, grand and in your face. Though it was usually right on time or even a little early. If there was one pet peeve of hers it was being late. She didn't know why as everything was usually in her own time but if she had to do something she always wanted to be on time or a little early...so her being late irked her to no end.
Lexi turned her attention to the vampire whose name she was told was Marina. "It's nice to meet you as well. And the only reason he was looking for me is that he knows that if he didn't find me I'd kick his butt." She stated with a laugh, shaking the unknown woman's hand. She was a beautiful woman though it was not in the normal way. She was more the classic beauty that never faded rather than the ‘in your face’ beauty that seemed to be on the rise these days. It was refreshing for the blonde vampire to see.
She smiled when Marina asked about enjoying the concert together and nodded. “Trust me, I’m sure he sees enough of me as it is. He’d probably be more than happy for me to skedaddle so he could spend time with someone who doesn’t get up his butt all the time but then again where is the fun in that?” She asked with a chuckle, nudging her best friend in the shoulder before wrapping her arm around him and placing a kiss against his cheek. “Just remember Stefan, I only hound you because I love you.” She told him with another laugh, for some reason feeling a tad protective of her best friend and yet not really knowing why.
“She saw the sadness sweep over Marina’s face and she could guess why. She knew that she and Stefan were a force to be reckoned with at most times since people often felt out of place with them. She knew that most people had actually assumed that the two were a couple over the years and neither did anything to dissuade that notion as neither really cared. “You’re more than welcome to join us Marina…the more the merrier.” She told him with a smile, hoping she would see that she was sincere.

Stefan smiled at Marina. It was of course Lexi whom got him into Bon Jovi, she had great taste in music and usually knew how to get him to loosen up and just have a good time. Lexi was good at a great deal many things in her life, but helping Stefan with his blood lust, and getting Stefan to want to have a good time were the two she was best at in his mind, at least to him, that's how it seemed.
Marina echoed his thoughts of Lexi finally showing up and he nodded at his best friend. "Yeah, I know you." Stefan said with a playful jab at Lexi's arm. She did like to make a grand entrance and now that she was here, he could finally relax and enjoy himself for awhile at least. He watched their interaction with a smile. Lexi really knew how to talk to people, especially complete strangers, something Stefan was good at in Ripper mode, but not so much at the moment.
"Yeah, she could to if she wanted to."Stefan said with a chuckle at Lexi's comment about kicking his ass. She was older then him, plus he only fed on animals, which made her even more powerful as she still drank human blood, from a bag, yes but still. She would for sure be able to kick his ass, but she wouldn't not unless he went all Ripper on her again, which he hoped he would never do.
Stefan chuckled at Lexi's comments. "Yeah, but that is the thing I love most about you Lexi." Stefan replied back. He was just glad to have her around, he couldn't imagine life without her right now. He probably wouldn't be alive right now, as his murderous ways would of surely led to his death as some point. In many ways, Lexi saved his life, but he wouldn't admit it out loud to her.
Stefan smiled. "And I love you for it Lexi." Stefan said to her. It wasn't a I love you like he would say to a lover, though as mentioned before, they had made love in the past, but it was a way that he would say to only her, only his best friend. Yep he couldn't see living without her. "You can stay Marina, we don't mind." Stefan echoed Lexi's comments to Marina.
Yeah Stefan and Lexi's closeness bothered a lot of people they met. And a lot of people that knew both of them asked if they were an item. He always denied it, but in a way, Lexi was the most important thing in his life, and any women, now or in the future, who can claim that title from her, well, they would have to be one special young lady. Still, Stefan enjoyed being around Marina and didn't want her to go.

----------------------- [/b] -----------------------[/b] Mari laughed once the two got into a rythm with each other. She could tell they were old friends and it actually comforted her because it meant she wasn't likely to be a bother. If they had been dating she'd have gotten the hands off vibe and while they were a bit tactile with each other they had known each other long enough from the sound of it to get away with that. "So is he the friend you call when a date goes bad?" she teased gently, looking at Lexi as she did so and chuckling.
She nodded as both confirmed she was welcome. Her posture relaxed and while she didn't say anything the stiffness she had held herself at seemed to relax. She really didn't know what to add to their old friends thing so she didn't try. She knew that she was new to them and wasn't going to push herself on them, "Ooo, they're getting ready for another set!" she said as she heard the beginning of another song as she again shifted so they had a good view of the concert. She focused on the music happily, after all it was why they were there. She hadn't bought tickets to talk through the entire thing.
She rocked out as that set went on, moving to the music but not singing to it, she knew people came to hear the band not her. She did sip from her ever present thermos as it got hotter with all the people but all she did was move to the beat of the music swaying to the beat almost instinctively. She couldn't imagine not moving to the music when she heard it. It was almost impossible.
When there was another break she seemed energized. While she wasn't hyper by any means she seemed to truly relish being there as if she rarely got out and cherished each time she did it. She glanced about her happily as if memorizing everything so she could recall it later. A vampire didn't need a camera to recall what happened in his or her life but Marina took a special pause, tending to focus on the happier things, like the couple that were cuddling to their favorite song verses a fight that had broken out and resolved. It wasn't that she didn't recognize it she just chose not to focus her attention on it.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - She chuckled at Stefan agreeing with her. “See, I love a man who knows what’s what.” She told Marina with a smirk and a wink. “I mean come on, what woman doesn’t want a man to admit to a complete stranger that a girl could kick his ass.” She stated with another chuckle, leaning over and pressing a kiss against Stefan’s cheek. “You’ll be the perfect man for some girl some day Stef.” She stated, not realizing that she was also telling Marina that the two were in fact not together, only friends. This was something that most people tended to not realize. She had been asked by people over the years more than a few times if she and Stefan were together and she always was honest.
Well, not completely honest. She always said that they weren’t together which was true but she never told anyone that their friendship wasn’t exactly completely platonic. She and Stefan had slept together more than a few times over the years and there was definitely chemistry, passion, and love, but it wasn’t the type of love that either of them deserved. She would admit to no one but herself that she loved her best friend more than she should however she knew that Stefan deserved someone better than her which was the main reason she had never pursued anything.
Hearing Marina’s squeal about another set she grinned. “Hopefully they play some of the newer stuff. The last concert of theirs I saw they did a bunch of older stuff and people started getting pissed. Almost caused a riot.” She stated, reminiscing on the concert she and her friend Bianca had gone to where a man had literally tried to rush the stage because the band hadn’t played any of the newer stuff, had tried to do some tribute to the older stuff and it hadn’t worked well.
Another set went and the three continued to rock out like they were no one’s business. Lexi smirked as two women approached Stefan but she played the best friend card and snuggled up to him and made it look as if they were a couple. She had done this numerous times for him over the years and it was a ploy that they had perfected. She had danced with another man before she had realized he was extremely drunk and had politely refused another dance, making her way back over to Stefan and Marina. “So Marina, where are you from?” She asked, waiting for the band to get set up for their next and last set.

"She has called me one or two times." Stefan teased her. Though he really didn't have any right to tease Lexi about dating, as at least Lexi was trying to find love. Stefan really didn't try to hard any more, not since Katherine ripped out his heart and stomped on it with his own brother, still he had a couple of girlfriends the past 100 years or so, nothing to serious though. Lexi knew that he had rotten luck when it came to women, and he was better off playing the field then settling down.
Stefan smiled at Mariana seemed happy they are playing a new set. Stefan just smiled at Lexi. "Well you are stronger then me Lexi, and you drink human blood." Stefan said quietly when she teased him a little. He knew it was all in good fun and that Lexi was being Lexi. She told him that he would make the perfect man for a women some day.
Stefan some how doubted that. Stefan wondered if he would ever find the one for him. After 150 years you tend to get a bit impatient on the subject. Maybe someday he will find someone, but what if they were human. He didn't know if he would turn someone out of love if they asked him to. And he sure as hell didn't want to watch them grow old and die, though he knew he wouldn't leave them just cause they got a little wrinkly. Stefan was honorable like that. Still, it wasn't something he looked forward to.
"And you will make one hell of a wife if you ever decide to settle down." Stefan said, teasing her a little bit. He knew Lexi wouldn't want something like that probably, unless it was a really special guy. It was more of a defense mechanism for Stefan to say something like that to her and she should know that it is all in good fun by now. "Call me old fashioned, but I like their old stuff better." Stefan said with a smile. He didn't mind either way, Bon Jovi was Bon Jovi and he could rock any song he wanted to sing.
Stefan laughed as Lexi snuggled up against him. He spotted the two vixens coming up to him as well, and he really didn't want to have to turn them down. Not that they weren't good looking, but he really wasn't looking for that tonight and knew that it would only lead to a one night stand. "Thanks." Stefan said quietly to Lexi, this was just one of the perks of having a best friend that is a girl, keeping away unwanted advances from other girls. There are more perks so to speak, like the fact that they have had fun in the past in private.
