--------------------------------------------------"That's true! God, the girls in their shorts, what a sight," he said with a grin on his face while imagining P.E. he literally just looked at the girls when they played dodgeball or whatever sport they were playing. See, in high school Xander has an excuse to look at women since he would see them everyday but now he would actually have to go out of his way to see them by exiting the house...then again there were a bunch of women in the house so he couldn't complain but most of them were young. It wasn't the same though, maybe it was because he wasn't a horny teenager anymore or as horny as a teenager.
"Man! I just wanna know what's down here," he told the girls. It was pretty creepy how the place didn't really change much since the last time they had been there and Xander didn't like it. He did want to explore though so the gang would have to take the risk anyway. He wondered if it was a demon down there or a witch that did some spell, he was just making some guesses but it was probably a demon since it seemed to be the most likely thing down here, but what demon would want to stay down here? It was just an abandon place which was a wreck and it wasn't like there was people to kill. Clearly there had to be a motive behind it unless Xander was entirely wrong on what was down here.
"Can I say, light galore?" He said to both girls. They had flashlights and Willow's light spell so Xander wondered why there was so much when they could have just used one thing but oh well they did need to see. "Yeah...what's the deal with it? Everything looks the same...creeptastic," he said while looking at the wreckage that seemed to be untouched or crumbled the least bit. He didn't like the look of this place at all, why did it look like this? If anything, the whole town should have been gone considering Spike's necklace made everything go and the fact that there were bodies that were still there...wait, "Anya," was all he said. "If these bodies are still like this then could her body still be here?" He asked the two girls. He wanted to know, he wanted to find her.
"Yeah...this is weird, can someone figure out what's going on?" He asked. He was getting the weeby jeebies right now. "I mean is this magic or something else?" Once again asking with curiousity. He didn't really want to talk about how the Magic Box got destroyed by Willow, it was the past and it didn't need to be brought up, Xander knew Willow felt bad about it. He really wanted to find out why the place was the same as before, it just didn't make sense to him, could a spell actually do this? But who would really want to keep this town? It had to be something else. Xander wanted to figure it out already, if only he had any clue what it was but he was a clueless man so he would leave it to his best friends.

~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~Willow made sure if she used any magic to keep it down, they didn't need to be noticed by anything. There was just something about this place that didn't seem nor feel right. Buffy was right though at the high school they were bound to find something there, only god knows what they could run into there. After all it was the home of the hell mouth its self, well one of them anyway. "You know Buffy I know exactly what you mean, the moment I stepped fooy in here I could tell that something did feel that way." Said the witch. "We just all need to stick together and watch our back, which means Xander don't you go wondering off Stay close OK. I couldn't take something happening to you." Willow look around noticing Bodies that didn't seem like they had been there this long, she could feel as though something had happen here. Something that was a lot sooner then a year, which could not been good for them at all. "Yeah Buffy I'm right there with you, what is going on here? Something about this whole thing feels so off, how could something after all this time still be down here, I though we put an end to the hell mouth" They all stayed close to each other, not knowing that they could run into down here. Willow didn't even want to think about Anya still being down here, nor did she want to see one of her dead friends. "God Xander I hope not I really don't want to see that, I don't think you want to ether." It seemed as though they might have been making there way to what looked like the school, but with the way everything looked down here it was hard to make it out. Willow did notice the same thing that Buffy did though, it did seem odd that the Magic box was in better condition then it should have been. "Yeah that is really weird so why you think that is guys?" Said the witch in a lost like tone. She knew what Buffy was talking about and it was OK she could say it, it looked pretty much the same way since Willow ruined it. Pretty much blasted it down to the ground, but she respected her friend for trying not to speak about it. "Yeah it looks like it did the day are fight went down, Man you really kicked my butt." She said kidding with her friend trying to make best of it. "So I wonder why that is then? Everything about this place don't seem right." Then she heard another soon coming from the distance. "Did you guys here that." She wispier. "I heard that sound again, coming from over there." Word Count-475 Tagged- Xander Outfit- Click For Willow's OutfitNote- Love this thread ~~~~~~~~~~~
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -She was grateful for Willow’s spell though she almost wondered if it wasn’t such a good idea being that the more light they had the more that they attracted attention. She really didn’t want to have to fight some crazy demon down here. Well, no, let’s rephrase that. Fighting some crazy demon would be one thing since she knew that it would be alright, but what if more than one or two Turok-Han’s had survived? She didn’t want Willow or Xander anywhere near them without a means of escape and being that they were hundreds of feet down in a crater with no means of escape besides a friggin rope tied to the side she didn’t see them getting away.
She was extremely grateful that her scythe was stored in the back pack across her back. She had started bringing it with her wherever she went unless it was completely impossible. She had found that it killed most things and the blade never dulled or rusted. It was nice to have a weapon that things never had to be replaced on or had to be thrown out or sharpened, plus the fact that it seemed to be able to kill just about anything. It was most definitely her weapon of choice.
She smiled sadly when she heard Xander’s question, putting her hand on his shoulder. “If she is, we’ll take her with us.” She told her, though behind Xander’s back she shot Willow a pained look. Andrew had told she and Willow about Anya being literally sliced in two and while she would be able to handle it, she doubted that Xander would. She had never spoken of it to Xander and she knew that Willow nor Andrew had either. She didn’t doubt that he had asked but it wasn’t something that any of them felt comfortable telling him.
She didn’t know the answer to if this was magic or not but it felt powerful. It could have been something as simple as when Spike did whatever he did with that crystal that it protected it…or it could have been something as sinister as the Hellmouth protecting itself. She really hoped it was the former but it wouldn’t surprise her if it was the latter. She knew Giles would have a field day if the Hellmouth had been active this whole time and none of them had known about it or done anything about it.
She really didn’t want to watch him break his glasses by simply cleaning them.
She heard the sound right as Willow did. She looked over and groaned. It was coming from towards where a cemetery was… the cemetery that she had been buried in actually. “It’s probably vampires.” She stated with a glare towards the cemetery. Her headstone was still in place, or at least it had been when they had blown up Sunnydale. She remembered Spike asking her one night why she hadn’t removed it and she remembered the smile she gave him. She had said something along the lines of ‘because the person who was laid to rest here really did die. I came back different and while the body is mine…I’m a different person. I wanted to leave this here to honor that woman.’ She didn’t regret it and a part of her wanted to take it with her and put it in the memorial that she planned for back in Rome.
And she knew damn well if she found her mother’s headstone and where she was buried, well, she’d be coming back to Sunnydale to remove her casket and ship her to Rome. She hated thinking it but it was damn true.
--------------------------------------------------Xander wondered what was down there with them, he was extremely curious and wanted to find it. He was actually pretty afraid that it would be an uber vamp because well...they were strong plus their faces were just really ugly to look at. Really though, Xander had thought he had seen every ugly creature but when he saw them, my god was it horrible but of course Buffy kicked their asses when it was time to. That girl could literally take on anything, Xander was grateful that she had saved him a million times by now especially from creatures that seemed to have an attraction to him. He wouldn't be thinking about that too long considering that was gross. Welln they didn't have an attraction to him but they certainly wanted to use him for other purposes.
"Me?!" Xander said with a little shock. Okay, yes he was the weakling but come on! Couldn't she give him some credit on being able to handle himself? "Yeah, yeah, yeah I'll stay close," but to who would he stay closer to? The most powerful slayer or the most powerful witch? Now, that would be a big toughie. He accepted that he was the weakling of the group and he did need help at most times so they did need to watch him from time to time but they needed to understand that he was capable of holding his own when it came to fighting. He would just shrug it off for now though.
Xander had a frown on his face, why wouldn't he want to see Anya? If the roles were reversed he was pretty sure Willow would want to see Tara for one last time even if she wasn't breathing. "Of course I do, I never got a chance to say goodbye Will," he then looked at Buffy with a sad smile. "Thank you buff, it means a lot to me." He wasn't sure what he would do when he saw the body, he wasn't even sure how she died. All Andrew had told him was that she died protecting him. Sure, it may be a lot to handle but he needed to see the woman he once loved one last time before they got out of this hole. Not seeing her was making him hold onto something that would never be achieved and he knew finding her would bring him closure.
"Yeah, what was that?" Xander was starting to get scared. "Great, it's like we're in a horror movie now," he said unimpressed with this situation. He was still wondering how this place was just the same and he was wondering if the hellmouth was activated still, that would be a pretty scary thing if it was. "Hopefully the easy vampires if y'know what I mean," he told the girls hoping it wasn't an uber vamp even though Buffy could dust them easily now with the scythe. "I'm just going to stay really close to you guys just in case," he told both girls. Or maybe he should just stay behind them so he wasn't in the way. "It'd be great if the noise we were hearing was a dog, I like dogs their furry and friendly," he knew better of course but still he wanted it to be nothing dangerous. It was wishful thinking on his part but it didn't matter he was allowed to. He wasn't as afraid as he was before because he knew that he he had both girls who could handle whatever it was.
~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~She had smiled back at Buffy about Anya, it was sad but true. There was no way at all that they could even spot nor take Anya with them if they found her. But they didn’t have the heart to ever tell Xander that, all he knew was that his girl went down fighting. Which was good enough for him, Willow knew how proud he was of her so she could never kill or take away that memory. Even though it was hard not telling something like that to her best friend, even if it was all for a good reason. Willow really was worried to what it was they were feeling here, the witch wonder what could be hanging around down here Was it monster or vampire handing out? Could it be things left over from the hellmouth, or even worse was the hellmouth still in fact thriving. She really doubted that was the case, other wise Willow would think things would be even worse down here. More creatures would be walking around, more noises would be coming would be heard. So Willow didn’t think there was anyway at all that it could be that, but she knew it was something and whatever it was couldn’t be good. Willow heard a noise coming from the distance, Xander was right it did almost sounded like a horror movie and was starting to fell like one to. Buffy though that it was just a vampire that heard; seeing that they were in the Cemetery. But Willow was sure that it wasn’t a vampire, but she wasn’t going to question the Slayer. “Well It didn’t sound like any vampire I have ever heard, just saying Buff.” She said while they passed through the cemetery. As they were walking Willow noticed it was the same place where they laid to rest Buffy. She wondered if she would noticed, even the though witch was sure she would she just wasn’t going to say anything. You don’t forget were you were berried when you died, that’s just something that tends to be hard to slip your mind. After she passed Buffy grave she came to one that she wished she wouldn’t have, it was the grave she though she would never see again. The whole reason that Willow came out here in the first place, she sat looking over the all of Sunnydale. It was the closest thing she had to a grave for her. But now Willow was standing right before it again after all this time, she began to kneel down to it, placing her hand over the name, and even began to run her figure through the out line of the name. Tears began to roll down the witches face, it even almost felt hard to breath in that moment. “Guys its… its… Tara. I cant believe it her stone is still here.” She said to Buffy and Xander, still with tears in her voice. She then began to whip the tears from her face standing up on her feet, realizing they did have a job to do. This was no place nor time for her to cry, plus she knows that deep down Tara would want her to be happy with her friends and not to cry. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -She shook her head, almost seeing what her male best friend was thinking. “You’re not weak Xander. You’ve come a long way from the boy I first met. You both have. Hell you’ve been able to take out vampires, demons, and one seriously pissed off and hurt witch without us there. So don’t think you’re weak. I just want you to stay close in case I need a grave dug up. Remember what I said back in the day? Men dig up the graves and women have the babies.” She stated with a laugh before winking at Willow, hoping she wasn’t upset about the pissed off and hurt witch comment.
She knew what he was thinking and what Willow was thinking. “I know you want to see her…but I can’t let you. I remember what it’s like to see the person that you love die. It’s not the same I know because Angel’s body just disappeared but I do remember the pain, the final knowledge of seeing them leave this earth and what it does to you. I don’t want you to have to go through that. I found a spell before I came here that protects things until they can be removed. Will the book and the stuff that’s needed is in that bag. It’s a form of a stasis spell like the one Giles used on…well you.” She stated with a wince, again, hoping she wasn’t upset. “Whatever or whoever we find here that needs to come back to Rome with us, we’ll put that spell on them or it and then I’ll call people later and have them come and get what and who we need. I won’t let anyone stay here unless we can’t find them.” She told them, knowing that she was speaking about her mother, Anya, Tara, and quite a few others.
Her eyes passed by her own headstone, the partially broken headstone and she chuckled. “I’m assuming you came up with the inscription Xander?” She asked, a fond smile gracing her pink lips. She saw Willow off in the distance and it didn’t take long for her to realize who she had found. She picked up her own headstone, not knowing why she wanted it but something compelled her to take it and she followed Xander over to stand next to Tara’s grave, setting her own headstone next to Tara’s. She nodded to Willow once as she motioned to the bag. “Put the spell on them and we’ll keep moving. We still don’t know what made the noise that we heard.” She told her softly, not wanting either of them, well really any of them, to get lost in memories. She knew this would be hard, harder than they had suspected, and they still had a lot more to explore.
She wrapped an arm around Willow and squeezed her shoulders before seeing a familiar tree off in the distance. She knew that while there were many cemeteries in this town, or there had been at least, this one had the most of her loved ones in it. Tara hadn’t been buried far from her own mother and the tree she was seeing was the one she and Angel had sat against all night after the funeral. “Once we’re done here can we do the same to my mom’s? Both Tara and my mom belong in Rome with us, not in this huge crater.” She told her before her eyes widened as a memory formed. “We have another cemetery to go to before we leave too. I think Giles would want us to bring Jenny home too.” She told them sadly, knowing that it would be difficult for not only Giles, but Angel as well.

--------------------------------------------------There were so much memories down here. From when they were in high school and when he had dated Cordelia, now that definitely brought back some memories that he didn't even want to remember. Cordelia was a well she was just Cordelia, and he felt bad that he cheated on her. He didn't really know her now but she was living in the house and it was sort of awkward for him so he basically avoided her at all costs. They had parted ways from high school on a good note but it had been years since they had seen each other so really he had no reason to talk to the girl. He was indifferent about her to be honest.
Xander laughed, "Fine, fine I'll stick close and be manly like I am," he pushed his chest out and flexed, joking around with the girls. He needed to hear that he wasn't weak by his friends but in a way he didn't really believe it. They must have both known that they were stronger than him therefore he was weak since he was weaker than them. He just wished that he had some type of ability to help the girls but all he could really do is use his funny remarks to lighten up the mood. Okay, so maybe the man was thinking a little negatively about how he perceived himself but who wouldn't when he had such amazing friends who helped out a lot? A lot of people would probably tell him to just live with it and he had, for the past several years he had known both girls.
Xander was about to argue back but then he realized that Buffy was right. "I guess I just wanted some closure," he said with a shrug. "You're right, it's better...if I don't see her," he didn't know how badly damaged Anya was but he didn't really want to find out although his curious side did. Andrew should have been more specific because now Xander will always wonder. He knew that it wasn't right to just stare at her dead body and he also knew that if he saw it then he would probably cry. So it was best for him to just stay far away from the body, wherever it was. He was assuming it was in the school since it would make the most sense and if they were to go in there then Xander would not be prepared for what was in there.
Xander looked at Buffy's headstone remembering the grief that the group had went through when the slayer had died, it truly was a dark time. "Of course, would you expect anything less?" He asked the girl. "Everyone else wanted something that wasn't original but you know me with going big or going home," he told her. Was he even making sense? He then walked over to Willow where Tara's grave was and he instantly felt upset for the red-head. "I wonder what she's doing right now, maybe practicing some spells up there," he said trying to make the situation light. They had started walking again. This was just really depressing, going to every grave and just seeing what had happened in the past. "Yeah, I think Giles would like that," he said while walking to go to Jenny's grave.

~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~Seeing this was not easy for Willow at all she had missed her so much and really been thinking about her these past few months. All the times they spend together, all that they had been through, but most of all she had been thinking about the first moment she laid eyes on her. When they first met in school, Willow remembers it like it was just yesterday. They were in Collage in some wiccan group, even though these people wouldn’t know magic even if it came up and bit them. She noticed quiet sweet Tara sitting there quite, shy, and all alone, there was just something about her that made Willow drawn to her. Almost like the same way she was drawn over here to the grave, s strong force. She could feel that she was near and with them; close. But then again Willow knew that Tara was always with her, always watching over her making sure that she was safe. She still thinks its strange that the girl she is with now looks just like her, almost like she sent Lenore to Willow in away. Which she is glad that she did, but it still didn’t change how much she missed Tara. “I’m so sorry that time was taken from us Tara, I miss you every day my love.“ She said before feeling a hand placed on her arm, wrapping tightly around her. It was her best friend Buffy always there when Willow needed her. To the world she may be the Slayer, but to Willow she was her best friend and always will be. Buffy was right they didn’t belong here, there graves belong with them in Rome. That way they could always see them, always come to visit them. Plus them staying here was like being cruised into a hell, sitting here in something that was not there home anymore. It was now nothing but a Broken crater, pretty much nothing. Which did make the witch sad knowing that her home truly was no more, but at lest she still had her friends to her they were home. Willow would do what Buffy told her to do, putting a spell keeping them safe. It was a good idea to do so that way they could take them back, she couldn’t help but smile happy for the ideas that Buffy had, plus it made her happy knowing how much she wanted there loved ones close to them. “Sounds like a good idea to me Buffy.” The witch said with a smile drying the rest of her tears. “ I really do think Giles would like that, if we found and brought back Jenny. I say lets do it lead the way.” Jenny was another one that Willow really missed, she pretty much was the reason that she was the witch that she was today. She was the whole inspiration to getting into magic, the reason she is so strong, which has changed her life forever and she will never forget her for it. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -She laughed a small laugh at Xander’s comment about being manly. Not because she was making fun of him just because of the way he said it. She would honestly call him one of the most masculine men that she knew these days as he was one of the few who knew how to defend himself, he was sensitive and knew how to take constructive criticism. There were numerous times that Dawn had asked her why she and Xander had never gotten together which was ironic since at one time Dawn had a crush on him and her answer was always the same. Xander was like the brother she had never had and she loved him as if he was family, not romantically.
She sighed with a sad smile. “I just know that if it was me and my loved one was there, I wouldn’t want to see him like that. Remember her as the woman that you loved, the vivacious woman who told you like it was. She was the one who would tell everyone like it is and had no qualms about standing up to someone or what she believed in. Remember her like that Xan.” She told him quietly.
She smiled at the thought of their loved ones in heaven though she didn’t say anything to it, not wanting to remember her own time in heaven as there were still some bitter feelings towards those she loved and she didn’t want to think about them right now. She didn’t want to think about how her friends had pulled her out of heaven away from who and what she had truly wanted in all the world, peace and being with the people that had long since passed away while knowing that those that she loved were safe. She couldn’t begin to think about those memories as she would get upset and she couldn’t afford to do so.
She made her way towards the headstone of jenny and waited for Willow to do the same spell before turning the opposite way, this time making her way towards the school. She didn’t want to leave Xander out by himself so she simply lead all of them towards where she knew Anya had last been seen. Upon entering the school she turned to her two friends and held up a hand. Stay here. Once I find her I’ll come back and tell Willow where she is. Only one of us at a time as this place really doesn’t look to stable.” She stated though that really wasn’t the reason. She didn’t want to leave Xander alone not only for his own safety but also because she knew better than most that he would follow them and from what Andrew had told her this was really not something she wanted her best friend to see.
She walked towards the hallway and immediately saw what honestly made her want to be sick. Her eyes closed as she saw the fallen pieces of her friend and she bit back vomit in her throat. She moved towards the body of Anya and moved the pieces back towards one another before covering the body up, just in case Xander came near them.
Walking back towards her friends she put on a sad smile, not wanting her male best friend to see how upset she was. “I found her. Willow go find the banner for the Razorbacks. You’ll find her.” She told her before holding her arm out to Xander. “We’ll wait outside.” She stated, leading him away, not taking any chances of her friend seeing his love like that.
--------------------------------------------------It was really sad seeing Willow talk to Tara's grave, Xander had just felt bad for the girl. He had wished that Tara was alive but she was dead and hopefully Willow would find someone she could end up loving. After seeing Willow talk to the grave Xander wasn't sure if he should see Anya, he felt like he would breakdown or something and he didn't want to do that in front of his friends. He did miss Anya, quite a lot actually. She was his girl and she was gone which was sad to think about but he moved on finally and he was ready for whatever was to come. Deaths were always hard to deal with but it seemed as if moving on was the hardest.
"Okay," he said with a nod and a frown. He wasn't sure why he was becoming so upset. He shouldn't be seeing his ex's dead body and Buffy was protecting him from that. "I'll remember her like that, the woman I loved," he said with a sad smile. He still couldn't believe she was dead. To be honest Xander couldn't believe how many people had died even though they all did live on the hell mouth so deaths were bound to happen. But they were still hard to handle since they were unexpected to them.
"Fine, fine," he said with a raise of his hands giving up. He wanted to go in, not just to be in the school one last time, well he was in the school but he wanted to explore...but he wasn't sure if he wanted to risk finding Anya. Xander knew that Buffy was just trying to protect him and the only reason he knew this was because the blonde was always trying to protect him, so was the red-head. He waited with Willow waiting for Buffy to come back. "I still can't believe we're down here," he told Willow. He was surprised to see everything and he was a little bit happy to see the school once again in a weird twisted way. He was hoping he would find a lot there but really when is there wast a lot of people he could make friends with.
Buffy had came back and told Willow that it was done. "How bad is it Buff?" He wanted to know, just so he knows, it may not make sense it, "Going farther is a no right?" He just wanted to see her but he knew that he couldn't and it just wouldn't be right. Xander was just happy that Willow would be coming out pretty soon. "I don't even wanna be near this school anymore," hopefully everything works out and he was so ready to get out of the school and just explore more of the destroyed town, it looked cool how everything was preserved but it was also really creepy which didn't matter since Xander was actually used to creepy.He just hoped that they could get out of thise hole after their little adventure in it, he was kind of tired.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -She nodded once when Willow came back out, tears on her face. “Let’s run by the house if we can find our way there and do what we need to do there, then we’ll get out of here.” She told them and did just as she said she would. The three made their way towards the Summer’s house and Willow quickly put a spell on those bodies that were buried such as Annabelle and Chloe and Eve, and then they were on their way. She could tell the trip had taken a lot more out of the three of them than had been expected and she made a mental note to make sure that they didn’t come back there…at least not Willow and Xander. She didn’t want to do that to her friends.
Upon arriving back at the rope she sent Willow up first followed by Xander. Once they were both up she made her way up, tugging the rope behind her. She knew that they would have to find some way to seal off the Hellmouth in order to make sure nothing was living in there trying to open it but she also knew that for once she was going to let personal feelings come before duty. She knew that had Giles been there he would have pushed his own personal feelings aside about Jenny and focused on the Hellmouth, well Giles wasn’t there which meant she was in charge which meant she would call the shots.
And the shots she was calling said that she was going to allow those to grieve finally who hadn’t been given the chance before.
She looked at the crater before turning back to her friends, smiling a sad smile. “Let’s go.” She told them, leading the two of them back to her rental car where she put the rope back inside and then got into the driver’s seat. She noted that Xander was staring out the window and Willow was simply quiet, apparently trying to process everything. She knew this was difficult for both of them as it was with her, though clearly it was different for them as their lovers were in that town…while hers were off doing god knows what.
Sliding her cell phone out she sent a text message to Samantha telling her to have Giles call her in the evening before making her way towards the airport, wanting nothing more than to get back to Virginia and get back to the real world.
Sunnydale seemed like a dream and a nightmare all wrapped up into one.
