- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -It had been a long but productive day for the blonde slayer. She had finished the report cards that she had been assigned to sending out (apparently being a counselor and a sounding board wasn’t enough, no, they made her to paper work too), and had gotten out of work relatively early. In order to treat herself she then went for a pedicure and a massage, something she had desperately needed after the past few weeks. Normally she would have asked Angel for one but unfortunately he was still out of town dealing with Glory’s damn torso so she was pretty much screwed on that respect.
After her massage she had felt like jelly and had made her way back to her apartment (having not wanted to deal with the loud boarding house) to take a nice hot bubble bath. Unfortunately She had only been in said bubble bath for about ten minutes before she had gotten a phone call from the boarding house. One of the younger slayers had been injured and had to leave a demon locked down in some creepy cellar in order to get away and now she was asked if she could please go take care of it.
As much as she wanted to bite her tongue and say that they couldn’t always count on other people to do the dirty work for her she refrained, instead heaving herself out of the bathtub (which was harder than it should have been due to her sluggish muscles after her massage) She was not amused when she realized that all of her work out clothes were in the laundry. So unfortunately she had no choice but to put on a pair of skinny jeans, a pair of boots, a draped black tank top and a black jacket on, having not many other things cleaned. She quickly put a load of laundry in the washer, making a mental note to put it in the dryer when she got home.
She quickly grabbed her scythe, her standard tool for slaying anything other than regular vampires and made her way towards the demon, finding it in no time and slaying it with relative ease. Unfortunately now the question was how the hell she was going to find her way out of the damn caves. She muttered a curse under her breath as she realized it was more like Sunnydale, though Sunnydale had sewers while Mystic Falls and Richmond had caves.
Why couldn’t anything ever be easy?

Benny was in Virginia to keep an eye on a young hunter named Joanna for Dean. Joanna had died a while back and recently came back to life, so Dean, worried about her well being, asked Benny to protect her. Benny of course agreed, he liked having a goal in life, if he didn't then him being back would be pointless in his mind, so he liked to keep busy. Plus he had great respect and friendship towards Dean, so if this girl was worth protecting, then Benny would be glad to do it.
He was making his way to where Dean informed him Joanna was when he saw a pretty blonde going into the local cave system. He thought it was pretty odd, he knew what kinda creatures were around her, vampires, demons, and maybe even worse stuff, as Dean had filled him in. So what was a pretty little blonde doing going into a dark cave by herself?
He decided he could meet up with Dean, Sam and Joanna later, he didn't want anything bad to happen to this girl and he followed her in the cave. He watched silently as she dispatched a demon, or he guessed it was a demon. She could clearly take care of herself and his worry went away. He watched her still, apparently she got turned around somehow. He smiled to himself.
Suddenly he heard the sound of voices approaching. He could make out three distinct voices, possibly 4. They approached the blonde. Benny knew what they were instantly. Vampires. He growled as they started attacking her. She was tough, clearly taking out that demon, but 4 on 1 was hardly a fair fight and Benny became worried again.
He didn't know she could handle it on her own and grabbed one of the vampires ripping its head off, revealing himself to her. Apparently, she had things well in control, only he didn't know it and rushed in like Galahad. Benny had a tendency of doing that. The vampires were dead, well all but one of them, Benny that is.
He felt her power now, something that wasn't clear before when he was hanging back, he knew what she was, a Slayer. He had heard rumors about them, The Old Man telling him to stay clear of them, didn't matter how strong you were, if your a vampire and ran into one of them, you were dead, very few fought them and lived to tell the tale.
Benny became a little nervous. He didn't even know what to say as he began backing up from her. He mumbled softly at first, mostly to himself. A fine mess he got himself into, he just hoped she would grant him a free pass since he was only trying to help her. "Sorry...I didn't know you could handle them alone, Slayer." He said.
He knew what she was, and she must of known what he was. And her job was to kill beings like him. "I don't want any trouble." He spoke truthfully to her, hurting people that didn't deserve it was something Benny no longer did and would never do again. Still, she didn't know that, all she knew was he was what she hunted. What was he gonna say, I'm one of the good guys? Yeah, that's what a Slayer would expect a vampire to say.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Finally the vampire rose which was a good thing in her mind since she was getting increasingly bored. Unfortunately being that the vampire was new and not very strong or bright for that matter so to say it was a fight was a very large understatement. It was more of a leg sweep and a stake through the heart followed by ashes to ashes. All in a day’s work for a slayer, or at least all in a day’s work for Buffy Summers. Being that there were more than one slayer now it meant that not every girl had to patrol every night and most didn’t…but she did.
Patrolling was instinctual for her these days. So in a world that was constantly changing at a rapid pace it was comforting to have a constant…
Even if that constant was staking vampires.
She could feel power drawing near as her senses came alive. She remained in a casual pose and allowed the vampires to come to her. She played helpless to allow them to surround her since it was less work and running around for her. Before she could take the one closest out however someone else did it for her. She quickly staked the others before realizing that her senses were still indeed firing.
The man in front of her was a vampire.
She quirked an eyebrow when he apologized to her. She looked at him silently, trying to figure out what it was about him that stopped her from attacking him. It took her only a few moments before she realized that it was his eyes that stopped her. His eyes, which instead of the anger and ruthlessness that she had gotten used to, his were different. His had humanity in them.
She twirled her stake absentmindedly before realizing that it was probably making him a bit nervous. She smiled ruefully before sliding the stake back up her sleeve for easy access and smiled, this time more genuinely. “I’m hearing that more and more these days.” She replied. “Also, the name is Buffy…only the bad guys called me slayer…and you say you’re not a bad guy.”
“So are you going to tell me the name of the vampire who jumped in to help or am I going to have to make up some nickname for you? You’re probably better off coming clean with your name because the nicknames I come up with are either embarrassing or just plain stupid.” She told him with a flip of her hair just to emphasis the blonde joke.
She looked around, feeling as if something was missing A glint of silver caught her eye and her head immediately flew to her neck before she ran to scoop up her necklace that had apparently had fallen during the fight. Turning her attention back to the still unnamed vampire she simply waited him so introduce himself.

She had some impressive moves, that was for sure. She dispatched those three like they were nothing. Benny knew they must of been freshly turned. He was old, over 300 to be exact, so he would be much more of a fight for her, even still, he didn't know if he would defend himself against her.
Did he even deserve to be here in the first place was his main question in life right now, and if the Vampire Slayer thought the world was better off without him, then so be it. Plus he wouldn't hurt her, he promised himself to be the best person he can be, to earn being back.
She was just looking at him, playing with that stake, probably planning on how she was gonna stick it in Benny's heart. He gulped, great idea Benny, following her in here. Finally she put it away, though he knew she could take it out again at any time she so wanted.
So he was a little confused when she seemed to drop her guard. Well, not drop it completely, just be nice to him, if he made a move on her, she would have good enough reflexes to end him. Still, she was being... nice to him, almost like she knew he didn't want to fight her and really was one of the good guys.
"Benny... Lafitte, pleased to meet you, Buffy." He said somewhat truthfully. He loosened up a bit since she was being so nice to him. He wasn't expecting it, he assumed she would try to kill him. Unless she was toying with him and really was gonna kill him, in that case, he would prefer she got it over with and not mess with him.
He smiled to himself, Benny was short for Benjamin and Buffy was short for Elizabeth. It was just a funny coincidence that helped Benny calm down. He studied her carefully, he somehow knew she wasn't the dumb blonde she emphasised to be. She was smart, and strong, like he heard most Slayer's were.
He watched her grab her necklace. That would of been the perfect time to attack her, cause she was distracted, or at the very least, run away from her, but Benny didn't do either of those things. She trusted him enough to let her guard down like that, and Benny wanted to know why.
He smiled at her, a real genuine smile. "So uh... Buffy, Isn't it the time to... you know, do your whole Slayer thing, Buffy? You know, your the Slayer, I'm the... monster." He asked, not that he wanted her to, it was more of a why weren't you doing it type of question, he really was curious to know why she didn't want him dead.
Did he give off something that told her he really was a good guy. He really didn't know much about Slayers, he only knew they weren't to be messed with unless you had a death wish. He continued smiling at her, hoping he wasn't freaking her out.
"The caves are big, I can help you find the way out if you need me to." He offered, remembering she seemed to be turned around a bit earlier. It was a friendly offer on Benny's part, even if she were planning to Slay him when they got out, he at least wanted to help her with that first.
He knew now that no matter what, even if she came charging at him with the stake, he would not fight back. She really was a sweet girl, or was pretending to be. She was kind and kinda funny, he liked that. Even in the face of a monster she had wit, and that was rare. Benny never denied being a monster, but he wanted to be a good guy, and hoped it balanced out enough in her eyes.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -She smiled softly when he stated his name. His voice had a soothing quality to it but it was still a bit gravelly. It was a weird combination but one that worked well for him. "Nice to meet you as well Benny." She told him sweetly. She could feel the power emanating off him, similar in a way to Angel’s so she assumed he was up there in age, and yet it didn’t put her off for whatever reason. She could tell, somehow, that he was not like the other vampires she had killed over the years…he wasn’t exactly like Angel…but she sort of got the feeling that…well…she couldn’t describe it.
She knew that by turning her back on him when she ran to get her necklace she had given him the perfect opportunity to strike at her, and she had done that on purpose. She knew how to read people from being the slayer for so long, plus she had learned very quickly after meeting the number of potentials and new watchers that she had. She had done this on purpose to make sure she could trust him, and when he started speaking again after she had turned around to face him. “Nope.” She told him, popping the ‘P’ in nope before softening her look.
She made her way towards him, her hands up showing him that she wasn’t going to attack. Once she was closer she grinned and leaned against the cave wall that was opposite of him. “I trust my instincts and my instincts tell me that you are not a monster Benny.” She told him, her voice quiet, as to not carry throughout the caves around her. Granted she knew if any supernatural being was around that they would be able to hear her but at least she made the effort.
She brushed her hair back, this time getting it out of her face, mistakenly showing off the scar that adorned her neck where Angel had sunk his teeth into her. She wished more than anything that he would reclaim that scar but she knew he’d not go for it since she had to essentially beat the living crap out of him the last time when he was dying and force him to drink from her as it was the only cure. She swore, she didn’t know if it were men in general or just vampire men but they were all so damn stubborn.
“I would much appreciate your help as I am clearly a loss with directions and finding my way out. According to those I know they say I couldn’t find my way out of a plastic bag which is very true. Unless it’s a cemetery, then I can find my way out of those pretty well and wow, I’m babbling.” She trailed off, her cheeks stained a tiny bit pink as she blushed, which was not something she did often unless she was around strangers.
She was a weird one, but then again she had known that for years.

Benny was glad she trusted her instincts, to him it meant she, in a way, to an extent, she trusted him. So he smiled genuinely at her. Benny nodded. He didn't feel like a monster either, most of the time, still he couldn't help but crave blood, it was just in his nature, he didn't want to be a blood sucking fiend, but it was who he was.
She seemed to be able to see past that. "Thank you for believing in me. If anyone else but a Slayer were to say that, it wouldn't mean much. It means a lot coming from you Buffy." He spoke honestly. He instantly felt better about being alive, now that he had the Vampire Slayers seal of approval, or whatever he had from her.
He spotted the distinct marks on her neck, having given those marks himself before, he knew what they were, Vampire bites. He wasn't surprised that a slayer would of gotten bitten before, it made sense to him, but he wondered who the bite was from. He looked away from the mark, surprised that she was able to trust any vampire let alone him.
She was somewhat wrong though. If she knew some of the things he did all those years ago, she would not say she felt he wasn't a monster. She would want to end him. Benny wasn't the saint he was trying to be, and he would admit it. Like most Vampires, he did horrible things once upon a time.
But then again, he felt like he paid for those sins. 50 years worth of paying in purgatory. It did change him, heck he changed before being sent to purgatory when he met Andrea. He felt purgatory was his punishment for over 200 years of death and destruction at his own hands.
So he paid his debt, right? He turned over a new leaf and wouldn't harm a single hair on an innocent persons head, at least he hopped he wouldn't. He was after all what he was, and that was a predatory being, a vampire. So, he could never promise he would never do nothing bad, but he could hope so.
He briefly wondered if the bite on her neck was more then just some vamp getting the better of her. It could be from one she knew, and that is why she trusted him, cause she knew good vamps before him. He reminded himself to talk to her about such a thing when they got to know each other better, maybe there were good vampires out there and that was a comforting thought for Benny.
He smiled at her. "Of course, I am good with direction." He said, not really going into detail why he was. He was good with direction because of the time spent in purgatory. You had to be, or otherwise you would get lost and run around in circles like a chicken with your head cut off.
One of the many useful skills he gained while there. It helped him survive, he knew where to go, where he had been, and even a way out that he never got to try. He remembered the portal that only a human can go through, it might come in handy some day, knowing where it was at.
He chuckled at her. "I like the fact that you babbled on. It's cute." He couldn't help himself. He hoped she wasn't offended by him saying that, but she really was adorable when she rambled on like that. It was also a good sign that she was OK being around him, at least in his mind, maybe she was a little shy around strangers? He couldn't tell, but he liked it.
"The way out is this way." He said pointing behind him. He started walking that way, hoping she would follow him. It wasn't a long hike to the cave entrance, nor a dangerous one, and nothing really worth wild happened, no vamps or demons of any kind.
Finally, Benny found the light at the end of the tunnel, literally. He approached the cave entrance, happy his instincts didn't let him down. "One escape route to freedom, Buffy." He said, almost a little to prideful. He wondered what would happen next, would they exchange numbers, Benny just got his phone and the only number he dialed was Dean.
It was awkward for him. He really didn't know the protocol now-a-days and for this situation, one he really had never been in before. He kinda wanted to get to know her better. So he smiled at her. "So..." He began, not really knowing anything to say.
"... How long have you been a slayer for?" He asked her, it was kinda the one thing they had in common, her being a slayer and him being a vampire, so it made sense for it to be a good start off point for the conversation. He hoped she felt the same way and wanted to talk to him, he really didn't know many people, other then Dean, he had no one really to talk to and he was a bit curious about her, he never met a slayer before.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -She grinned and shrugged. "I know a lot of vampires and while most of them I fight, I do have a few friends who are vampires...so I guess I'll say that while yes, I'm a vampire slayer, I'm also a pretty good judge of character." She told him with a pretty smile. Granted she knew there were a lot of people out there that would disagree with that statement but oh well, she knew who she could trust and who she couldn't. Most people didn't trust Spike and she did. And he ended up helping them close the Hellmouth, so she had been right all along.
She didn't realize it at first until she touched her neck (she was used to those marks) and it dawned on her what he had looked at and then looked away after noticing. She didn't mind the bite mark, it actually made her feel safe for some really weird reason. Yes, she was a vampire slayer who was marked by a vampire. Most humans who had been bitten by a vampire and survived, their marks would heal after a time. Her marks from the master has and so had Dracula’s bite. Neither had scarred, and it was surprising that Dracula’s didn’t since his were right near Angel’s which meant there was scar tissue.
She had gotten curious one day a few weeks later when they had faded and Angel’s were still there and after doing some research she had learned that if a human was marked by a vampire and it scarred but did not heal, it meant that they were marked by that vampire for a reason. Most of the time it meant that no other vampire could feed off of that human, but in rare cases (which were really almost impossible since most vampires would just turn a human) the vampire marked that vampire as their mate.
This had angered her more than she cared to admit, not because she was Angel’s mate…that flattered her, but the fact that he did that and then still left her. It had taken numerous hours for her to calm down and not drive to Los Angeles and kick his ass for leaving her, however she had refrained and was glad that since it had only been alter that night that she had met Glory for the first time. She had been grateful that she had been there and not somewhere else, I.E. Los Angeles, as that could have been a really bad thing depending on how much information she got out of the Monk, though he had been doing pretty well hiding the truth from her.
“You can ask you know.” She told him as she followed him towards what she assumed was the opening of the cave. “You wouldn’t be the first, or the second, or the last to ask.” She stated, touching the mark on her neck once again to emphasis that she was talking about what he had been looking at. Unfortunately she hadn’t paid attention to what she was doing and stumbled over a rock but caught herself in the end, rolling her eyes at herself. “Wow, I’m a slayer and still not that graceful. Couldn’t otherworldly grace been on the slayer powers list?” She mumbled to herself though she was aware that Benny could hear it.
“Well I’m glad that you think I’m cute, a girl tends to forget that she’s pretty hanging out in the dark all the time.” She stated with a wink before letting out another giggle. “As for directions, thank goodness someone’s good at them and thank goodness for G.P.S….I would be a wreck trying to use one of those mapquest directions things.” She stated before laughing again. “Okay and you Mr. are way too easy to talk to.”

"So its safe to assume there are good vampires out there?" He questioned her. He was really curious to find this out, she said she knew vampires, and that meant she was friends and even trusted them. He was under the assumption that all vampires were bad, as he once was, and what Andrea became was solid proof of that.
So finding out that vampire's weren't all bad, and that he may now be one of them that was good, he enjoyed that thought. If anything, this meeting at least gave Benny some peace of mind that he may be able to earn his life back after all. Though he wasn't sure on her judgement right now, she did trust him after all, and Benny wasn't sure he really was one of the good guys right now, he was at least trying to be.
She motioned to her neck saying he could ask about it. He wasn't really sure he wanted to. He only saw that mark one other time on someone else, and they were long gone. He sorta knew what it meant, but he never gave one to a girl before. It meant that you belonged to someone else, in a way.
So that is why Benny was sort of uncomfortable about asking about it. It meant that she had a vampire lover out there, or at least had. Still curiosity got the better of him and he broke down and asked. "Where is he or she now?" He asked her, he didn't want to assume it was from a male vampire, it could of very well been from a female, he didn't know enough about Buffy yet to make that assumption about her yet.
He chuckled to himself as she nearly tripped and mumbled to herself. "Oh I think Slayers are powerful enough as is." He said with a grin. He was still a vampire after all, and Slayers were strong as it were. Still, he was thankful he didn't have to worry about such stuff as being slain by one, as the only one he knew seemed to like him.
"Are all slayers like you, Buffy?" Benny asked her with a chuckle. He didn't really want to meet to many of them, he knew that just because one trusted him didn't mean all of them would. They had to be different, they were in fact humans after all, and every human was different, so he assumed every slayer was different.
He didn't quite know what she meant by map quest and G.P.S. He assumed it had something to do with directions going by the context of the conversation. "I am?" He asked, he really didn't know because he really didn't talk to to many people now a days. There was Dean, and they got along well, and he was now getting along with Buffy. So he assumed she was being truthful in him being easy to talk to.
"Thanks." He replied. He wasn't sure if it was a compliment or not. But he decided to accept it as one. "So now that you are out of the cave, what are your plans now?" He asked her. His previous worries that she was gonna end up slaying him anyways were now gone, she had plenty of chances to, and since she didn't take them, then why would she now.
A level of trust for her formed in Benny's mind. He felt that if she trusted him, it was only right that he trusted her back. It was probably a good thing, having a slayer for a friend, and he would have to find a way to pay her friendship back. Just another thing he had to add to his list of debts to be paid.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -She nodded with a fond smile, thinking about Kathy, Angel and Spike just to name a few. “I know quite a few ‘good’ vampires though all of them will admit that they really aren’t good so to speak, just that they refuse to hurt people. Well, one of them is good, the other two have done a lot of bad things but changed over the years and now are two of the finest men I know.” She told him, again a smile gracing her features as she thought about Spike and Angel and while not similar in most ways, the two were similar in the way that both had good hearts.
“It’s taken quite a while for those that I know to become what one would call good but at least now that they are they know the price of what humanity costs.” She stated wisely, remembering Angel and her speaking on the hillside behind the mansion all those years ago about strength and fighting. From what she remembered of her conversation with Elena recently it seemed as if it was a struggle for her vampire as well. She briefly wondered if all vampires with souls or humanity or whatever one wanted to call it struggled with guilt but she had a feeling that it wasn’t the case. Only those who truly wanted to atone for their sins felt guilt. The other simply wrote it off.
She could tell it made him uncomfortable, asking about the bite mark on her neck. “He’s disposing of a body part of a hell god for me at the moment.” She stated bluntly with a shrug. “He should be back by now so I’m getting a tad worried but as my friends keep telling me no news is good news and it’s no secret in the vampire community that the true vampire slayer is mated to one of the worst vampires of all time so if something had happened to him the rumor mill would have been more than running and I would have heard about it.” She stated off handedly, more trying to keep herself calm rather than give out information to Benny though it worked out that way.
She shook her head at his next question. “No, not all slayers are like me. I’m actually one of the minority actually. My watcher blames it on the fact that I was never trained properly. Most slayers, at least before I was called, were taken by their watchers at an early age and taught how to become a slayer, I was however found late, when it was too late to find one who had already been trained, so I learned who I was and what I was capable of late in the game meaning I was much too hard headed already to conform like the watcher’s council wanted me too.”
“Luckily for me my watcher and I have a good relationship which means that he never let the Watcher’s Council interfere with my training but I know I annoyed him a lot on more than one occasion, which I’ll admit was half the fun.” She giggled.
She breathed in the fresh air once they had made their way out of the caves and she shrugged. “I really have absolutely no idea. I could patrol I guess, though I could also go home. What about you, have any hoppin plans?” She asked, briefly wondering why they were drawn to one another but figuring it was because reasonable slayers and level headed vampires were rare to find these days.

Post by cordelia on Jun 5, 2013 21:28:29 GMT -6
----------------------- [/b] -----------------------[/b] Cordelia Chase was bored and she needed to do something stat! All she had been doing was laying around in bed wondering what in hell she was going to do. She would either just lay in boredom and think about things or actually get up and do something that was freaking fun. She stood up and went down the stairs to see if there was anyone that was there in the house and of course no one interesting was there. Then it hit her, she could talk to Buffy. The two girls were already having a rocky friendship considering their last talk, it wasn't too great and it was still awkward. Cordelia didn't make things awkward but for some reason it just was. She texted the blonde. Hey, where are you? I'm so freaking bored! She needed entertainment now, and maybe she would get that by talking to Buffy.
So, clearly the blonde was not answering her texts which was annoying Cordelia. Well, if she wasn't going to answer then Cordelia would just find her then. She was going to confront Buffy and that was that. She marched off through the door and made sure it was closed then she started walking to the one place that she knew Buffy would be, it was pretty obvious. Buffy was always at the cemetery for some reason, well not for some reason since vampires were always around there. You'd think that they'd be smart enough to not hang around there but clearly not, whatever. Vampires were just so weird, she could never understand them, the only vampire she could understand was Angel and he was still freaking gone. She was actually getting really annoyed with that vampire, he was her best friend and he was nowhere to be found, they were supposed to reunite and talk about just life. But she couldn't do that because he was gone for like ever. She hoped he would be back soon and if he wasn't then at least it gave her time to fix things with Buffy so when he did come back then he would see that his best friend and girlfriend are actually getting along.
Cordelia was finally at the cemetery which made her happy because she was so not about walking for a long distance. She then started looking around the cemetery wondering where the blonde could be then she remembered something, "Crap! I forgot a stake!" She started patting her pants seeing if there was anything she could use. God, could this moment get any worse? Scratch that, she didn't want it getting worse. She looked around for a stick and she found one but it wasn't sharp and she was no slayer so this clearly wasn't going to work but it'd be better than nothing. So, a couple seconds ago she had wondered if the moment could get any worse, and it did, freaking vampires.
"Can we not like do this now please? I mean unless you want an angry slayer on your hands," she told them. She was referring to Buffy who probably wouldn't get angry that she died but it was worth a shot and if the vampires thought Cordelia was the slayer even better, she had pulled it off before. They started coming closer to her and Cordelia started to run the opposite direction. What in the hell was the girl supposed to do? She turned around and hit one of the vampires with the stick while the other one tried to grab her, she kicked him but it wasn't enough and he grabbed her. Clearly this brunette was screwed if she didn't get any help soon. "Buffy, now it would be a good time for you to you know pop in, show up, whatever you do!" She screamed out hoping maybe that she would be lucky. She struggled with the vampire and tried to elbow him. This was so not a good time.

"You don't know how much that gives me hope, Buffy." Benny replied when she said two of the finest man she knew were in fact vampires. "I wouldn't call myself a good man either, but I am trying, and that has to count for something." He said to her with a smile. Benny really was trying, he tried over 100 years ago to be a good man to, but it didn't last long.
He listened to her talk about how it took them a while to get "good". He wondered how long it would take him to finally admit that he is a good guy and for others to believe him. Buffy felt that he was on the right path, and that meant a lot to him. He smiled at her. "I'd like to meet them someday, to pick their brains and get advice on how I can be good like them." He said honestly.
He listened to her talk about the vamp that marked her. He nodded. "Is he one of the... good guys you mentioned before?" He asked, he knew he was prying, but it was very important to him to learn that he can be good, he sounded like a good guy, and she cared about him, maybe even loved him, Benny didn't know Buffy well enough to make that assumption.
"So I should probably be wise to fear other Slayers then?" He asks with a chuckle, but it was more of a laugh to hide his own fear. He wondered how many Slayers there really was. He thought there was only suppose to be one at a time, but the way Buffy talked about them made him think there were more, a lot more.
"Whats a Watcher?" He asked. He had heard of Slayers, but didn't really know what a Watcher was. The Old Man really didn't go into depth about Slayers and their ways, so it was a new concept to him. He shrugged at the thought, maybe the Old Man didn't know as much as he let on.
"Well, I am meeting up with a friend. A hunter named Dean Winchester, he wants me to look out for a friend of his." Benny said looking at Buffy. He wondered briefly if she in fact knew Dean, but his thought process was cut off when he heard someone calling out Buffy's name.
Out of instinct, or perhaps cause he was with Buffy, he ran towards the sounds of the screams and saw vampires attacking a very beautiful girl. He couldn't stop to admire her beauty, he had to help Buffy save her. He pulled the one that was on top of the girl off her.
He figured Buffy could handle the rest, so he wanted to make sure the girl was OK. The vampire was strong, much stronger then the cave ones and he threw Benny against a tree. Benny struggled to his feet and the vampire began kicking and punching him. Benny was able to fight him off and slammed him against another tree.
Benny didn't know it at first, but the vamp was impaled on a thick branch. He soon turned to dust in Benny's hands. Backing away he took some deep breaths and went up to the girl. "Are you OK?" He asked her, holding his hand out for her to grab so he can help her up.
He was finally able to see her beauty and his heart began to race. She was gorgeous, even more so then his Andrea. "H..h...h...." He tried to say hi to her, but couldn't. He looked in her eyes and knew she was special. "My Benny name is hi." He said to her, mentally cursing himself out for being a dumb ass. He must seem like an idiot to her.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -She smiled and briefly thought about getting Spike and Benny together since Spike was the one who was currently in town however after thinking about it for a beat longer decided to wait until Angel got back. He had a lot longer on the whole ‘being good’ thing than Spike did and while Spike was a great person in her opinion, he was still new at the lifestyle and she doubted that Benny needed to pick up any of Spike’s bad habits. Or at least that was what she was telling herself in a voice that sounded more like Xander than she cared to admit.
“Fearing other slayers would probably be a wise idea. I’ll put the word out about you just like I do about the other vampires I know but not all of them listen to me. I’ve had two try and attack my mate and they didn’t like the repercussions of it but he’s the only one I can get away with defending without getting in trouble myself.” She stated, though amended that to Angel and Kathy inside her head. She didn’t talk about Kathy much only because she wanted to protect the young girl and if word got out that there was a child vampire out there under the slayer’s protection Buffy knew that she would be a sitting target and she didn’t want that to happen.
She smiled fondly at Benny as he questioned what things were. She liked that he seemed to really want to understand what was going on and while a lot of other vampires would she was sure they wanted to know because they wanted to know the best way to kill a slayer, Benny wanted to know for the sheer knowledge of it. “A watcher is someone who trains a slayer. Well, that’s what they were before there was more than one. Now they are there as guides, mentors, that sort of thing. We actually have a school set up now to train slayers as it’s difficult for a regular human to train someone with enhanced strength.”
She shook her head with a chuckle at the mention of Dean. “Tell Dean I’m going to kick his ass for not telling me about you. He needs to get better at gossiping or I’m revoking his rights to be known as my honorary girlfriend.” She stated with a wink. “And please say it just like that, he’ll whine about the girlfriend thing I’m sure and it’ll be funny to see him whine.”
Before she could say anything else she heard her name from a familiar voice. She took off after the sound and felt more than saw Benny follow her. She took out the vampires quickly before turning around only to witness a very humorous sight of Benny making an ass out of himself in front of Cordelia. Hmmm… This could be interesting. She looked around for the stake that she was sure Cordelia dropped but when she didn’t see one her lips tilted down into a frown. “Cordelia, please tell me you were not in a cemetery without a stake or a cross.” She stated, hoping that she really wasn’t that dumb. Walking over towards the two she moved her hand underneath Benny’s mouth and closed his jaw for him. “Wipe the drool dude.”

----------------------- [/b] -----------------------[/b] Cordelia was in trouble right now and she honestly didn't know if she would make it out alive. If Buffy wasn't in this cemetery then Cordelia was screwed. She finally elbowed the vampire that had grabbed her. the brunette did have an few tricks up her sleeve. The only reason that she stood a chance right now was because of Angel and how he trained her on fighting but that was about it. She was no slayer and she was going against two vampires...without a stake or holy water so yeah, her chances of surviving were so slim. If she died now maybe the powers would bring her back again, but she really wasn't in the mood to have someone drink from her, that wasn't really a fun time...like at all. She would just have to try and fight and then when she had the chance run away.
The girl had wished that she had brought some kind of weapon but she was just so caught up in the moment with confronting Buffy that she totally forgot that there would be vampires in the cemetery, well not forget but oblivious. And could anyone blame her? She was dead before and even when she was alive she was in L.A. and didn't really go to any cemeteries there, just Sunnydale and that was years ago, so the girl was a bit oblivious to her surroundings. But whatever she couldn't help but be forgetful sometimes. She didn't even understand why they hung out at cemeteries, they were creepy but then again most vampires like creepy stuff...so it did make sense.
The same vampire had pushed Cordelia to the ground and went on top of her. Okay, this was the end, she was gonna die and be back to wherever she was. The vampire went for her neck and as he was doing so someone was about to scream but someone had taken the vampire off. She just laid there in shock wondering what the hell just happened. "Yeah, no bruises or anything thank god," she said and grabbed the man's hand. She then looked into his eyes wondering who he was. She gave the man a weird look when he was trying to talk to her, clearly he was not okay. "Uh, hi my name's Cordelia," she said with a slight giggle at his words. She couldn't help but find the man cute, just the way he was speaking and he was pretty attractive. There was something about this man, she couldn't put her finger on it but he just seemed interesting to her.
Cordelia looked at Buffy guiltily. "Funny story, you see I was trying to find you to talk to you about you know certain things so then I forgot a stake, and crosses aren't really in fashion...so I didn't want to bring that," she said with a frown. "In my defense I didn't entirely know I was going to end up here," she knew that she was going to the cemetery but she didn't know she'd be attacked by vampires so that was totally not her fault and Buffy couldn't blame Cordelia for that. She then looked at Benny when Buffy told him to close his mouth, what was his deal? "Great, now I have grass stains on my jeans, next time I'm bringing a stake," she said with a sigh. She couldn't believe she had a grass stain, these jeans were not cheap! The grass stain would probably come out though so that was good. "Are you guys like patrolling together or something?" She asked, okay she shouldn't beat around the bush, that wasn't her. "I can leave if you guys want," even though she didn't want to, she wanted to get to know Benny and see what he was about and she still needed to talk to Buffy but not in front of Benny of course.

Benny had never really been the good guy. Back in the early 1900's he tried, he really tried, but he couldn't do it back then. He had heard most of his friends from back then were dead, but he knew that Jonah, the bastard, was still alive. Deciding not to dwell on that he nodded at her. "Thanks, at least they might feel guilty when they slay me." He said to her with a grin, again to mask his own fear.
He was trying again now, and it was going better then last time. He hadn't hurt anyone, in fact, in the few short months that he has been back he has helped quite a few people. Benny felt good about that. "Well, I'm sure any man that you call a mate has to be someone special, so he can probably take care of himself." He said, reassuring her that her boyfriend was fine. He wondered who the vampire was that could be with Buffy. He would have to be special and powerful, at least in Benny's mind.
"Oh... sort of like a mentor?" Benny said, he knew now that watchers were probably the bookworms that did research while the slayer went out and did her thing. It made sense to Benny. He didn't dwell on the subject, he kinda got the gist of it. He smiled at her as she mentioned Dean.
"So you know him. Yeah, you would think he would have mentioned me to you. Thanks Dean, I will be sure to tell him that for you." Benny said with a chuckle. Dean could of warned him a slayer was in Richmond. No matter, no harm done, and if anything Benny made a new friend out of the situation.
No sooner had that thought crossed his mind that they had to jump into action to save the girl. He was thankful when she seemed alright. "That's... good, your skin is to nice to be bruised." Benny said, mentally smacking himself upside the head. If he could blush, he would probably be bright red right now.
"Cordelia... that's a pretty name, a pretty name for a pretty women." Benny said, a little more confidently now. Come on man, snap out of it, this girl wont be interested in you, your a monster. She just got attacked by vampires, don't think she has a thing for them. He looked at Buffy and grinned, pretending to wipe the invisible drool from his chin.
They did seem to know each other, but he could sense some tension between the two. As if they weren't friend, just that they knew each other. The way they talked to each other he knew the relationship was strained. Buffy scolded Cordelia for not bringing a stake, and Cordelia had to defend herself. She then began rambling about her jeans being ruined.
Which made Benny look down at her body... Big mistake as he found himself staring at her gorgeous body. Even in this dim light he could tell she knew a thing or two about fashion. Benny's idea of fashion was throwing on whatever was clean. He wished he had warn something more decent then his white shirt and pea coat tonight, if he knew he would meet Cordelia he would have.
He looked at Cordelia. "No, don't go..." Benny said quickly. He just met this divine beauty and she already wanted to leave? It wasn't fair. He really didn't know what to say, she wanted to talk to Buffy and all Benny wanted to do was get to know Cordelia now. Buffy made him feel better about himself and who he was, and now he met the most beautiful girl he has ever seen.
He really wasn't good with women and such, he hadn't been in love for 50 years or on a date for that matter. It was different with Buffy, he felt comfortable around her, probably cause there was no tension there, just friendship. Cordelia on the other hand, he was making a fool of himself in front of because he developed feelings for her instantly. Not that Buffy wasn't feelings worthy, he could tell her heart belonged to someone else and knew there could be nothing between them, but he had a shot with Cordelia.
He didn't really know what to do. He wondered if he should just tell Cordelia now what he was, but he wanted to wait until they got to know each other better so she wouldn't reject him solely based on the fact he was a vampire. "Cordelia... maybe after your done talking with Buffy we can meet and talk in private and get to know each other?" He finally bit the bullet and asked her out.
It was the single most bravest thing he thought he had ever done, which was saying something, but he felt he had to ask her. He could tell she was sweet, if not a bit naive and forgetful, but he liked that about her. He swallowed hard, hoping, praying that she would say yes to him.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -She groaned and shook her head, wanting nothing more than to shake Cordelia…or strangle her. Either one would be fine with her and while this was not an unusual feeling when it came to being associated with Cordelia she couldn’t do either. There was one time when ranting about “Queen C” as they used to call her would have been fun and often would be a sort of sport but with Angel and Cordelia being best friends she had to watch what she said. It also seemed that Willow was a bit more fond of her than she had once been and while she hadn’t spoken to Xander about her he was less immature these days which meant she had no alleys on the ‘dislike Cordelia train’.
Being an adult was hard sometimes.
It wasn’t that she didn’t like Cordelia, that was probably a bit harsh. In truth she was highly jealous of the dark haired woman. Angel had left Sunnydale, left her in all honesty, and gone to Los Angeles to atone for his sins…something that he apparently couldn’t do in Sunnydale with her…and yet mere months after he leaves he meets up with Cordelia and becomes crazy close with her. It was almost as if he just needed to get away from Buffy, not that he wanted to atone for his sins. She knew it was crazy and if Angel was around they’d argue about it for days because he’d say it wasn’t true but in truth that was sometimes how she felt.
Not that she’d ever admit it out loud.
She chuckled when Cordelia started whining about grass stains and figured throwing her a bone would be alright since she understood the frustration. “I found some crazy cleaner that gets it out. We’ve got some at the boarding house so if you want later on bring them by and I’ll get the stains out. I spent a whole lot less money on buying new jeans once I found it.” She told her with an almost shy smile, hating that she felt inferior to this woman at times and at the same time felt defensive. Her feelings toward the brunette were extremely complicated.
She watched in fascination as Benny seemed to trip over his words and finally it seemed as if he was going to ask her out on a date…which he did. Oh geez, this was too funny. She probably should find this disturbing but a selfish part of her did a summersault at the thought of Cordelia finding someone which meant that she’d have her own boyfriend and let Buffy have her own all to herself. Not that Angel was property or anything of the sort because he wasn’t but that didn’t mean that the blonde slayer didn’t want to be selfish and spend as much time as she could with him since they had been apart for so long. It was a small request in her mind but one that she knew she wouldn’t get if Cordelia wanted to spend time with him as well.
“Okay I’m starting to think that I should go…” She stated with an awkward laugh, not wanting to break up the love fest but really not wanting to witness it either. “Benny if I leave Cordelia in your capable hands will you make sure she gets home alright?” She asked, knowing that Angel would probably kick her ass if he knew she was leaving his best friend with a vampire that he didn’t know and neither did Buffy really, but Angel was off doing something for far too long and so what he didn’t know wouldn’t hurt him. She dug in her pocket for another stake and handed it the brunette as well as a bottle of holy water she had. “I’ll spare you the shame of wearing a cross. Just next time, don’t leave the house without some form of protection.” She told her with a scolding tone before turning on her heel and making her way away from the two of them, though she wouldn’t be far. She’d watch to make sure everything went okay (not in the relationship way but in the whole vampire human way) and make sure that Cordelia got home okay.
Well, her night just got more interesting.
