- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -She watched him as she spoke, though the silence that followed was deafening. It seemed as if he was at war with himself which was unusual for him recently. He had seemed more self aware after Klaus had compelled him to turn off his humanity. Almost as if he didn’t have to question himself, his own desires and his own instincts any longer. Which she guessed he didn’t. He had no reason to want to stop himself from taking a life, and from what she had heard from Damon he hadn’t stopped himself. She remembered seeing the tracking that Damon had done and how he had told her that they weren’t Klaus’ victims that they were Stefan’s.
She had nightmares for days afterward. However being told point blank that she wasn’t allowed over to the boarding house because there were bodies of women there that he had killed, that had hit her the hardest. Learning that he had killed women in the bed that they had slept together in…that he had brought women back to the house that he and Damon had signed over to her to keep her safe, and most likely slept with them before murdering them. It was a hard pill to swallow…one that she hadn’t fully dealt with yet.
Yet none of that knowledge kept her from loving him, kept her from hoping that one day he’d come back to her. She had heard that Klaus said he owed him fifty years of his life and while she knew that she would most likely be dead or an old grandmother by then, somehow she couldn’t see him not coming back to her before then. She could easily remember watching him as he was told to turn his humanity off, and she knew the only reason it had happened was because he was still trying to protect her…even after all he had been through.
She remembered seeing the pain in his eyes as he admitted that she was the only reason that he hadn’t turned his humanity off while he had been away. She remembered watching him beg her to run, even though Klaus had compelled him to hurt her. She remembered watching him fight that compulsion as he screamed at her to get away from him, to run away from him. And she remembered seeing the look of absolute despair on his handsome face as he realized that there was no way out for either of them.
Now this is fascinating, I've never seen this before. The only thing stronger than your craving for blood...is your love for this one girl.
Her eyes watched as, the memories racing through her mind as he made his way towards her. Most people would have ran in the other direction, but she stayed still. Refusing to leave him if there was even a chance that she could make him find his way back to her. Her eyes narrowed almost infinitesimally as he put his hand on the back of her neck, and she fought to control a flinch. Not because it was unfamiliar but because the action was too familiar...it was almost as if he was there with her right now, the man that she loved, and not the one who hated her.
His words caused her to look at him harder, trying to see the joke in his eyes but she saw none. Only pure regret, sadness, pain, and above all love. "Stefan...I..." She trailed off, not knowing how to answer. She loved him, every day her heart shattered just a little bit more without him...but what was going on? Was this a game to him...or was he really seemingly fighting the compulsion that Klaus had him under? “I’m right here. I’ve always been right here.” She told him, her dark eyes transfixed with his. She wanted nothing more than to pull him into her arms and let him let everything go, but she hesitated, just for a split second, but it seemed to be a split second too long.
Before her eyes she watched as he transformed into the one that she was used to these days, and while she wished she could hide it, tears welled in her eyes and one slipped down her cheek, though she brushed it away angrily. She berated herself internally for following him into the woods by herself without any weapons on her, though even if she had she wouldn’t use them on her. Not that she could ever hope to overpower him…but even if she had, she wouldn’t.
There were two parts warring within her. One was screaming at her to leave, walk away and let this nightmare of a day be over. Go home and let herself sob it out into her pillow before getting up tomorrow and pretending that her heart wasn't broken. But the other part told her to stand her ground, to not let him have what he so desperately wanted and that was to see her break. “Why bother pretending? Do you enjoy seeing those that love you upset because of what Klaus did? Just remember Stefan, even when you were with Klaus, hunting those werewolves, you still kept me a secret from him…why? If you don’t love me, if you don’t care…why did you bother hiding that I was alive? Answer me that, with a real answer…and I’ll walk away. I’ll leave you tonight…but don’t think for a minute that I’m going to give up on you. Because you, the real you, wouldn’t given up on me.”

Her words stung him, really stung him. He couldn't believe the direction the conversation took. He looked at her in almost stunned silence. He hadn't expected she do that, he was expecting her to give up, walk away, never talk to him again. At least the ripper version thought that. Somewhere inside him, where ever he was hiding his emotions, he must of eternally cheered her on.
You go Elena! Tell him off! Don't be the victim any more! Catch him in his lies!
The voice spoke so clearly in Stefan's head. It was his own voice saying it, and he knew which part of him was saying it. But what was he gonna say out loud? What lie could he make up this time to get her to go away? There was no lie, no convincing lie that Stefan could come up with that would be believable. He protected her, when all he had to do to appease Klaus was tell him she lived.
He might of let him out of the deal right then and there, if Stefan helped Klaus catch Elena. But he didn't, he wouldn't. He made sure at every turn that Klaus would not find out. It wasn't till Rebekah found out that Stefan was only pretending to help Klaus did he found out about Elena. Why, why would he protect her from Klaus, only to tell her he didn't truely care about her? There was NO lie good enough. Stefan knew it, Elena knew, everyone knew it.
"Elena... I..." Stefan began, his emotions were fighting to break free.
TURN IT OFF!!!!
The Words of the memory echoed in his head. "NO!" Stefan said out loud.
TURN IT OFFFFFFFF!!!!!!!
This time louder, the voice commanding, telling him what to do, Stefan was determined to fight it. "NO!!! NO!!! NOOOOoOOOO!!!!" He saidly loudly, falling to his knees, sobbing. He looked up at Elena. Tears in his eyes, what had he done. What had he said? The people he hurt, not just the countless, nameless victims he killed, but his friends. Damon, Lexi, Tyler, Matt, Caroline, Jeremy.... Worst of all, most of all, Elena.
"What have I done?" His voice breaking up. He wanted to just lay down and die. Take his ring off, wait for the sun to come up and burn him. The emotions were so strong this time, as if he were winning the fight, yeah right. He would never be able to fully break Klaus'es control, and he knew it, but he kept fighting. "What have I said?" He looked up at her.
"Elena...Elena..." His words pleading with her for forgiveness. His words, pleading her to help him, to comfort him, he needed her, now more then ever. He needed her comforting arms, warm skin, gentle eyes, her soft sweet kisses. He cryed openly now, not even pretending to hide his emotions anymore. "...I'm sorry, I'm so sorry..." You could tell the sincerity in his voice.
"Please, please..." His voice again pleading with her. "...I love you. I need you!" He continued to plead. Why couldn't Klaus just let him go? Why did he need Stefan for? He got his damn hybrids. He has his sister. He doesn't need Stefan, not anymore. Stefan is as good as useless to Klaus. He inwardly cursed at Klaus, wanting to find a way, any way to kill him for keeping Stefan from his beloved Elena.
Stefan knew why he had to plead so much with Elena. Cause she didn't trust him right now. She was waiting for the Hahaha, you fell for it again, line. But it wasn't coming, and Stefan didn't want it to come. He did everything he could to keep it from coming out, even if it ment suffering through watching the helpless faces of the people he slaughtered go dead, their lives leaving their bodies as he drained them dry.
He would put up with it, a sacrifise he was willing to make for Her, for Elena. He promised himself that no matter what horrible image of death and destruction that he was seeing, he would force through it, to find his way back to her. The twisted faces, frozen in their last horrible moments. They weren't enough, he pushed through, to her. His eyes resting on her.
Her father telling him to save her as they all drowned. Seeing her face for the first time, his love, his only love, his Elena. Falling in love with that face, those eyes, everything about her. Kissing her soft lips for the first time, feeling her warmth as he rubbed her arms, neck and back. taking her clothes off, making love to her for the first time. Those were the memories he wanted to get to, and he got to them.
But the pain, that followed. Saying stuff to her, bad stuff, stuff he didn't, and will never mean. Chasing her through the halls of school, yes he was fighting it, but he was still scaring her. Klaus, the son of a bitch, telling him to turn his emotions off. He couldn't help it, he had to. He had to sink his teeth into Elena's perfect neck. He hated himself for that. "Please, Elena..." He said again his eyes begging for forgiveness.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -She could see the surprise on his face as she spoke the words about Klaus and why he had hidden her. She knew, even then, that he was doing whatever he could to keep Klaus away. Even in Chicago he had lied directly to the newly made hybrid’s face and hid her, even though she wasn’t sure for a brief moment if he would out her hiding place or not. She remembered staring at him, her eyes refusing to leave his, and for one brief moment when she heard his words to Klaus, she had truly believed that she had lost him.
She remembered her eyes filled with hope as she stared at him...and him telling speaking out to Klaus. Look what I found. She had never felt more betrayed at that moment in her entire life. Though as she watched him take a bottle from behind her and walk out, she remembered breathing a sigh of relief and then berating herself for hours for thinking the worst of him.
She had no idea at that point in time how bad things could get and how quickly they could get that way. She had no idea how far her lover would fall before she would finally see who he had been before she met him. She had thought that she had seen him at his darkest point when she had forced her blood on him to heal him…she had no idea that Stefan on human blood from a blood bag…was tame compared to the ripper that he was now.
She watched him battle with himself as he tried to think of an answer, but she knew better. She knew he wouldn’t find one because there was nothing that he could say truthfully that would make up for what he hadn’t said. She knew that he had protected her, not because he wanted to, but because he loved her. He still loved her, and just as she told him all those weeks ago in the gym at the school…she still believed that.
Why because I love you? Yes! That’s right Stefan because you love me! You’ll fight because after everything we’ve been through you owe me that.
He had admitted that night that it was because of her that he hadn’t turned it off then, and she knew that even now he knew that. “What about what you told me at the school? About how I was the one thing that had kept you from giving up. If you didn’t love me, why would you care? Why would the thought of me keep you from turning it off? It wouldn’t…not if you didn’t love me. So don’t stand there and pretend that you think I’m pathetic and that you don’t care…because you do. I’ve seen what you’ve gone through to keep me safe. You offered yourself up to Klaus so that my aunt wouldn’t die. You and I stood at the lake house last year and we fought because I said I would die for anyone that I loved and I asked you what the difference was from you saying that you would die for me…do you remember what you said?” She asked him, her tone angry but her eyes soft, pleading.
“You said that it was because you had already lived. And that I wasn’t heroic, it was tragic. Nowhere in there did you make the distinction that you didn’t love me. Because you do. And I won’t sit there and let you tell me that you don’t…because for the first time I don’t believe you…and I don’t trust what is coming out of your mouth.” She told him, feeling as if a weight lifted off of her shoulders because she was sticking up for not only herself, but for them. She knew him better than most…she spent more time getting to know him than most…and she’d be damned if this part of him drove her away.
She geared up to say more but before she could she watched as Stefan literally crumbled in front of her. She watched as he screamed out no, though she wasn't sure if he was screaming her or an invisible that foe that only he could see. She watched as he fell to his knees, sobbing though for what she didn't know. She heard him whimper to himself, but she had no idea how to comfort him. His pleading with her was what finally did it as she fell to her knees next to him, wrapping her arms around him as she quietly made shushing noises, trying to comfort him.
"I'm right here." She whispered. "It's okay. It's going to be okay." She promised, though she didn't know if she was promising him, or herself. Hearing him tell her that he loved her and that he needed her, she could do nothing but whisper the same words back. "I'm right here. I love you Stefan, I promised you that. Remember what I said. I told you that I loved you, and to hold on to that. I'm saying it again. I will never stop loving you...keep that in your mind and don't let him win." She whispered, not even noticing that her own tears were falling down her cheeks.
She pulled away from him to look directly into his eyes. “You can fight it…I am right here. I am not going anywhere. But you have to want to fight it. What can I do to help you?” She asked him, her tone pleading as she tried not to bed for his help on how she could help him.

He let her warmth consume him, feeling her soft skin against his, he instantly began feeling better. He placed his hand on her sides and back, holding her close to him. He hated himself, but his love for her consumed his hate. "I would never give up as long as I know you are here for me." He replied, his head resting on her shoulder.
He could smell it, her blood. He pushed it from his mind. No, don't think about it. Think about her. The way she brushes the stray hair behind her ear. The way she smells after a shower, the way she does her make up. The way she kisses you. The way she holds you. Those are the things that really matter to you, not the crimson liquid running through her veins.
In truth he was thankful she was scolding him. Standing up for herself. To long she has played the victim and the only way she was gonna break through to him was to yell at him. Get angry with him. It helped, it really did help. "Elena." The word escaped his lips in almost a moan. He wanted to just stay in her arms forever, but knew he couldn't.
She offered to help in any way that she can, but she didn't know she was already helping. He thought about how she could help him even more. He didn't know if this was gonna remain like this or not. At any moment, his emotions could just shut back off. He didn't want that, but how to stop it?
He had to tell her some stuff right now, while he still could. Stuff he wouldn't be able to stay with the compulsion fully on. "Elena..." He began looking her in the eyes. He could get lost in them if he wanted to, but he couldn't, not yet anyways. "Elena, I need you to listen to me, and never forget anything I'm about to say." His voice takes on a much more serious tone then it had been.
"I don't know what's going on with me. I don't know if I am fighting it or what." He began looking her in the face, all he wanted to do now was kiss her, let her warmth warm his body even more. But this was to important, if he didn't say it, he didn't know if he would get the chance again.
"Tell Lexi I think my switch is broken. Klaus'es compulsion has broken it. I don't know when I am gonna lose it again. Tell Lexi that only you can help me fully break it. She will know what to do, Elena. She will know how to get me fully back to you, its the only way..." He continued looking at her face, her nose, her cute little nose, he ran a hand through her soft hair.
He couldn't think about that stuff. Not for long. He had to continue. This next part was the most important part, if he didn't say it, they wont be able to help him. "...Its you, she has to torture me using you... Its the only way." He managed to say choking up, placing his head, his nose in the crick of her neck.
He didn't know what he meant by that, he didn't want to know. But he knew it was the only way. But how, how was Lexi gonna use Elena to break through to Stefan this time. The thought barely entered his mind when he smelled her blood. The sweet smell filled his nose.
"You need to get away from me, I don't want to lose it in front of you anymore. I don't trust myself around you, if I bite you, I don't know if I will be able to stop. Elena, the only way you can help me right now is get away from me, get to Lexi, tell her what I told you!" He said, pulling away from her neck, the smell was almost intoxicating.
"Elena, I love you, and I don't want to hurt you anymore." He said again looking in her eyes, he allowed himself to get lost in them, just for a few moments, he needed it. He leaned in, his mouth inching closer to her own. It parted as he kissed her, tasting her lip gloss, tasting her. He passionately kissed her for several moments before pulling away suddenly.
He felt it take a hold of him. His blood lust. "Go Elena, get away, I cant control it any longer." He spoke to her, he tried to pull away from her, but couldn't. Part of him didn't want to. "I don't want to hurt you!" He said to her sniffing her neck again, the blood rushing through the vain.
Finally he managed to pull away from her, putting his back to the same tree he had slumped against earlier. Don't give in to the blood lust. Not now, not like this. Not with her, the only person near by. Her, the only person he absolutely needed to control himself around. "Elena." He managed to say. "You cant trust me right now." He added, his throat suddenly dry.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -She wanted to melt into his arms and sob out her frustration with everything that had happened, her grief over losing him, and everything else, but she refused to let herself go. This was his change to mourn, his chance to grieve. She knew that she had to be strong for him because he had been strong for her so many times. He had been the one to hold her when she cried over finding out that she was adopted, when she learned of the sacrifice, when Jenna and John had died, and numerous other times. It was his chance to be comforted…and she had a feeling that it was something he had needed for a long time.
She heard his whispered promise on never giving up and she replied in the same soft tone. “Then you’ll never have an excuse to give up because I will never not be here for you.” She knew that it was a difficult promise to make but at the same time she knew with all of her heart that she would never be in a situation, no matter when or where she was, that she would not give up everything to help this man, the man that owned her heart and had for as long as she could remember.
She could feel his strong arms around her and she felt home for the first time in months. She had often dreamed of their last hug, when he had come to her and told her about Damon. She had wished more than anything that she had begged him not to go, though every time she even began to think such things she remembered that had he not gone that he would have had to watch his brother die and while the two didn’t always get along she knew he would not have been able to handle that.
She heard her name slip past his lips and she reveled in it. It wasn't the harsh whisper that sounded almost like a swear word that she had heard for the past months, but the almost prayer like way he used to say it, as if just by speaking her name he was showing his devotion. It was the same with her. She remembered speaking his name in relief more than a few times, relief that she was finally in his arms again, just as she was now.
She watched as he looked at her, his tone serious and she sat silently, taking every word in and committing it to memory. She assumed he was telling her things that he knew he would not be able to say again, whether it was because of the compulsion or because of the switch she didn't know. Either way she made sure she wouldn't forget as she slid her hand into her pocket and pressed send on her phone, making sure that his words would be heard on her voicemail later on...just in case. It was something she, Caroline and Bonnie had used to do back when they were younger and had wanted people to remember something, they had called their voicemails and left either each other or themselves voicemails. She had never thought she would have been grateful for that particular brand of pre-teen thinking but at that moment she thanked her younger self for having the foresight to do so…whether she knew it or not.
She listened intently and everything that she and Lexi had planned came to the surface. She knew that what she had predicted was right. She was his link to his humanity, just as the blonde vampire had said. She had known this but she also knew that Damon was his weakness, so it could have been either one of them. Hearing his pleading tone she knew what she had to do. She should wait for Lexi but if she had the chance to do it tonight she would do it in a heartbeat. She had always been the type of person who would walk to the ends of the earth for those that she cared about, so it doubled with Stefan because he was who she wanted to spend the rest of her life with. It didn’t even occur to her that she had made that choice, one that would have consequences later on. All that she knew was that she was there, and she would walk through fire to help him.
"Shhhh." She whispered. "We'll make sure to bring you back to us." She told him, refusing to allow him to see her fear, to see her heartache. She would be strong for him, she had to be. "It's Lexi Stefan, she knows everything, or hasn't she informed you of that yet?" She asked him, trying to insert a bit of humor into the emotional conversation though she knew before the words had even left her mouth that it had fell flat.
She was surprised when his tone took on a harder tone, though not angry, just more stern. She didn't want to leave him but she knew that she had to listen to him. Before she could listen though she heard his loving words and before she could blink his lips were on hers. She felt herself fall into the kiss, her arms wrapping around his neck, pulling at the hair at the base of his neck. Her lips gracing his, her tongue battling with his, and she knew she was home. This was where she wanted to be for as long as she could be...but before she could relay those words to him he pulled away, his eyes wide with what she at first thought was lust but when she heard his words she realized it was lust...just the wrong kind.
She stayed silent as he yelled to her to leave but she shook her head. "No Stefan. You said you needed to be tortured with me? Then that's what we'll do. Only it's not going to be Lexi." She told him, sounding much more confidant then she was. She reached down, finding a rock in dirt, one with a pointed edge. "I've said this before Stefan. It's you and me, always." She replied softly before slicing her hand open, allowing her blood to flow free.

He was thankful that Elena and Lexi already had a plan, and it seemed to match up with his feelings on the situation. He knew Lexi would come through. She always did, and if she had Elena helping, there was no way they could fail. Not this time.
He was just glad that he seemed to be in control of his blood lust. At least enough he wouldn't hurt her. That't all that mattered. "What do you mean Elena?" He asked, watching her lean down for the rock.
He followed her movements. "Elena, what are you doing?" He asks as she grabs the rock. His eyes going wide. She wasn't gonna do what he thought she was, was she. "No Elena, don't stop." It was to late, his protests fell on deaf ears. The rock sliced her hand like a hot knife through butter.
He gasped, the smell was strong in her body, but now, on the outside it was almost unbearable. He watched as the crimson rubies dripped from her hand in horror. He felt his leg take a step forward. He wasn't sure if he did it voluntarily or not, just that he did it, and he hated that he did it.
"Elena... what have you done?" He said looking at her hand. Torture was one thing, waving blood in his face thinking he wont attack was another. He felt his lust kicking in really hard now. His eyes began to darken, the vains around them showing on his face.
His teeth began to bare, a low growl escaping his lips. "Elena, cover it up, get out of here!" He said, his body began to shake feeling the lust kick in and fighting it off. He was failing, he didn't know how much longer he could hold out.
He couldn't help but return to that night at the school. Chasing her through the halls. Finally catching up to her, only to refuse Klaus. He wished it was that easy this time. Just say no Stefan! No! But he couldn't, he didn't know how long he could say no for. Her blood dripping to the ground, he heard it, Drip, Drip, it sounded loud to him, but it should of been quiet.
It was getting to the point if even if she did cover up the wound and run, he didn't know if he would just follow after her and track her down or not. "Elena please, get away, cover it up, you don't understand." He pleaded with her, he hoped she listened, he prayed that she listened.
He fixated on her blood. The dripping sound getting louder and louder in his ears. "Elena... go, get away." He decided to plead with her one more time, he was losing it, and he was close, so close to doing the unthinkable.
He had to stop fixating on her blood. He tried everything. The moment he met her, saving her from the car. That memory only bought on the guilt he couldn't save her parents as well. The first time they kissed. That didn't help any, the only thing he could remember was feeling her heart race as his lips touched hers for the first time.
How bout the first time they made love? Nope, her heart was racing and he felt the blood running through her body then to. Only he had more control back then, far more control, more control then he will ever have in his current state. He took another step toward her.
Elena, run, please run, please. He thought in his mind, he couldn't say it out loud, his throat felt to dry, his body controlled only by the lust. He knew he wasn't gonna be able to hold back much longer. He tried everything he could think of, but nothing worked.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -This was probably not one of her more brilliant ideas, and that was saying something since according to well, really all of those that knew her, she tended to have a lot of ideas where while no matter how good of intentions she had, they didn’t always work out the way that she had anticipated. She wanted to scream out for Lexi and yet at the same time she wanted to be the one to save him. Lexi had been the one to save him more times than she probably knew about…so why couldn’t she, the one that he loved, save him?
Maybe it was because she didn’t have the capacity to do so. She remembered Lexi telling her how hard it was because she had to let the things that the blood made him say roll off her back. Lexi seemed to find it amusing because she just continued to talk back to him. Elena knew that she would not be able to just forget the things that he had said. Hearing that she was a human blood bag was something that to this day haunted her whenever she had a down thought. Because really, that was why she was created. She was supernatural in essence being the doppelganger so really, if her blood hadn’t been the key to breaking the curse would she be the same person she was now?
She really doubted it.
It had been something that had plagued her for a long time, how exactly doppelgangers were created. She had looked through history books over the years since her father was interested in the subject and she had never found another family where there were two identical people five hundred years apart. She had no idea about the original Petrova so technically three but since she had never been forced to face her she figured living in denial on that one would be easier.
She could feel the blood dripping down her hand and she stood with her eyes staring directly into his. She could see as the veins on his normally perfect skin became prominent, as his eyes turned black and red, and while most people would be afraid, she wouldn’t. Seeing the face that he wore now she felt the same way as she had the first night they had made love. She remembered touching his face, telling him she loved him, and not to hide from her. She remembered the way he touched her that night, both demanding and yet cherishing at the same time. She had never felt more loved than she had in that moment, the way that they came together as one…it was something that to this day she knew would never be able to be recreated.
She could see the fear, anger, and bloodlust warring in his eyes. She wanted to respond to him when he told her to run but what could she say. How could she possibly explain why she was doing what she was and why it was necessary? She knew had Lexi been there or Damon or even Caroline, he would feel more secure because there would be someone there to protect her from him, but she didn't want anyone else to protect her. She wanted him to overcome it because he was her protector. He was the one she felt safe with and she wanted him to feel the same way about her.
“Stefan it’s okay, breath. You won’t hurt me.” She told him, though by the way he was stalking towards her she was starting to regret her decision. Was she wrong? She didn’t know…but she hoped not.

Her confidence in him did little to Stefan but make him feel more guilt that he couldn't control it any more. Before he knew it, he was on her pushing her against a tree, his teeth sinking into her neck, her perfect sweet neck, he could smell her perfume as he began drinking. He vaguely heard screaming, but he wasn't sure if it was in his head or if Elena was the one screaming. It didn't matter, he continued to suck on her neck, the blood dripping down his throat stinging the dryness of his mouth and throat. He could feel her pulse weakening, and that was the only reason he finally stopped. Not cause he wanted to, but Klaus and his compulsion. It saved Elena's life. He pulled his mouth from her neck, looking at her face, the fear didn't compare to the sadness he swore he saw in it. He stepped away from her. watching the blood trickle down her neck onto her shoulder and staining the front of her outfit. Her perfect outfit. "Elena..." He said, his eyes returning to normal. No, what had he done? This was the worst thing he has ever done to her. Drinking her blood under Klaus's orders was one thing. Doing it out of lust, betraying her trust, was another. He cursed at himself. He looked down, away from her. What had he done? He had to think of something, Anything to get his mind off of what he had done. He remembered back at the lake house. Elena teasing Stefan cause he couldn't get in at first. She told him only John could invite him in. She had fooled him, and finally invited him in. You are such a liar! He remembered saying as he picked her up, remembering her giggle as he kissed on her neck and lips. That helped a little, but still. One good moment ages ago was not enough to forgive this really, really bad one. "Elena, I'm so sorry." He took a step toward her, but knew it was a bad gesture. He could see the fear on her face. Stefan couldn't bare to look at her, he turned away. "Please forgive me." He said, and that was it, he was gone. He didn't know where he was running to, how far he had ran, or even which direction. He only knew he had to get away from her, forever. He couldn't risk it. The next thing he knew was he was at the boarding house. He went in and into his room. He looked at his books, his items, collected over the last 150 years. His bed, the bed where he took Elena as his, made love to her. A moment he could never get back now. It would not surprise Stefan if she hated him now. All he has done to her, and this, the icing on the cake. Then he spotted it, a box, one he had never seen before. He looked at it for a few moments before grabbing it. He knew it was from Elena. He looked inside and spotted a watch. He told her that he needed a new one a few months before Summer started, before all this had happened, when they were still in love. She was thoughtful like that. Always remembering such dull conversations about little things. He looked at it, it was a handsome watch, clearly a lot of thought was put into the gift. He hated himself a lot more now. He fell to his knees, the watch, still in its tidy little box fell to the floor. He then saw it, a note on the dresser. He grabbed it, almost snatching it and opened it hastily. He read it quickly, a note from Elena, he read it, and that was it, he couldn't take any more, he crinkled the note up and threw the watch against the wall, sure it had shattered into a million pieces. "AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!" He yelled out loudly. The next few moments were a blur. But when he finally came to, He was curled up in a ball on the floor. His room, once so neat and tidy, everything in its place, was now a mess. It looked like a twister hit the place. The books, pages torn out, thrown all over the room. The bed flipped over, the wood shattered into pieces. Vases, statues and other expensively fragile items were shattered into bits on the floor. "Turn it off. Make it stop!" He said to himself and closed his eyes to fall to sleep. He awoke hours later. He didn't really know what time it was. He had forgotten all about the party. He couldn't show his face there any more any ways. He pulled himself off the floor and looked around. "Someone should really clean this place up." He said to himself going down stairs to the kitchen. He went straight for the fridge, stocked with blood. He grabbed one and began drinking. He had stopped fighting, no longer caring about anything. He didn't give a damn about Lexi and her party. Why she insisted on spending his god forsaken birthday with him was beyond him. And Elena, who cared what he did to her? She was alive, and thats all Klaus wanted. Stefan had given up, stopped fighting it. He had to, otherwise the guilt was gonna kill him. He grabbed another bag and drank it down, he was gonna leave Mystic Falls, and if he had it is way, never return. He would keep his emotions off forever now, if he had to. Words: 939 Tags: Elena Notes: I guess your last post would be the end of this thread, , at least it sets up the Damon and Stefan thread. Wished it could of lasted longer, but there wasn't much else we could do to extend it.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -She apparently had been wrong, oh so wrong. She was more than surprised when she felt her back being pressed up against a tree, though before she could even begin to make a sound she felt teeth being pressed into her neck. “Stefan!” She cried out, trying to get his attention but it was clear that he was in a haze of bloodlust and could not hear her. This was not what was supposed to happen. What the hell had she been thinking? Clearly she had not thought her plan through being what was currently happening between her and the man that she loved.
She could feel her fists pressing against his back as she tried to snap him out of it, though it was obvious to her that he had no recognition of who she was. She wondered if that was her screaming out loud or if it was all in her head. The blood was being pulled from her neck at a quick rate, quicker than she had ever felt before and for some reason that made it even worse. She knew that should she die Stefan would never forgive himself even though it was his nature. She didn’t want him to go through that.
Gathering the last of her strength she screamed out Lexi’s name, knowing that if any other vampire was around they would hear her as well. She didn’t know whether it was her scream or the compulsion that caused him to pull away but as soon as he did she fell to her knees, wincing at the new wounds that would more than likely be accompanying the one on her neck. Her eyes bore into Stefan’s, sadness, hurt, and love the key emotions that she knew were visible. She watched as he stepped closer and a shiver of fear flooded through her though she tried to hide it.
She watched as he stopped, apologized, and then ran from her. It was all she could do to stay conscious with the amount of blood that he had taken in such a short amount of time. She heard a familiar voice curse behind her and she lifted her head, looking into Lexi’s blue eyes. “I’m sorry.” She muttered before losing the fight with the blackness that had surrounded her. She wished she wouldn’t resurface, but she knew she would…
And when she did…things would be much worse.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - She grinned a much lighter smile at Sophia once she saw forgiveness in the older vampire’s eyes. She hadn’t wanted to argue with her old friend, especially when truly nothing had happened. She knew that had something happened she would have either gotten permission from the older vampire or she would have at least come clean about it. Yet because nothing had happened somehow it felt more intimate, which was insane and really didn’t make much sense in the blonde vampire’s eyes and yet that was the way that she felt…and from what she understood so did both Damon and Sophia.
She watched as Sophia and Damon made their way towards some privacy and she felt a small pang of longing that she was becoming quite familiar with. She missed Lee more than she could express sometimes and the anger that followed her longing was quick to fire up inside her. She knew that Klaus had to pay for what he had done and she would make damn sure that he did. She made it her mission to do several things, though she knew some were easier than others. She made a promise that she would help stop Klaus, she would kick Stefan’s ass back into his humanity, and she would help Jenna learn how to be a functioning vampire.
A vampire’s work was never done it seemed.
Her name being called, well, more like screamed, in some god awful painful cry was what broke her out of her thoughts about her mission. She looked around and cursed under her breath when she realized that she had lost sight and sound of Elena and Stefan. She sped towards where she thought she had heard the sound come from and that’s when she saw what she did. Elena, laying on the ground, her eyes barely making her out as she stared at her. “Damn.” She muttered again, speeding over to her and not thinking twice about picking the blood soaked girl up.
She sped through the ruins, making her way towards where she knew most people had parked their cars. She felt relief fill her as she saw Jeremy and Bonnie standing talking and raced towards them. “Jeremy.” She called out, alerting them that something was wrong. She saw Jeremy and Bonnie’s eyes both widen as they took in who she was carrying but she refused to waste anymore time. She quickly bit into her arm and forced her blood into Elena’s mouth, waiting until she started coughing before removing herself away from the trio. “Get her home.” She told them, not giving anyone any room to argue with her. Once the three had sped away she turned her attention back to the party, needing to find where the hell her best friend had gone.
