- - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - -Noting that all the demons were gone…at least the ones that they had been fighting she quickly got the group’s attention and headed over to where Dawn and Connor were standing. “Alright, we need to split up. Faith, Dawn, Connor and Xander…I need you guys to head back to the boarding house. I don’t know what Glory is planning on doing now that I’m “dead” and she’s still here…so go back there, barricade the doors, not that it’ll do much good, and stay there. None of those girls are strong enough to take on Glory. If Vi is there tell her to keep her butt there and help with making sure no one leaves. If Giles is there do not under any circumstances tell him that I died. I’ll figure out a way to tell him later. If Jenny’s there ask her to try and do some sort of barrier that she can keep up until we get home.” She told them, continuing on without giving anyone any time to interject.
“Angel, Spike, Willow and I are going to take the long way home. We are going to walk into town and see if we can get any of the demons who ran off. I do not want this to turn into apocalypse now and unfortunately I think it could if we don’t do something. Does anyone have any questions?” She asked, silencing Dawn with a glare as she opened her mouth to protest about being sent home. This was definitely not the time to argue.
She watched as the group headed off before turning to her part of the group. “Everyone ready?” She asked, not liking the fact that she still was without a weapon.
She turned and headed towards where she could make out screams of people who were undoubtedly facing monsters that looked as if they came right out from someone’s nightmares. She took off into a run, seeing a demon attacking a young girl. She quickly pushed the girl aside, forcing her to land on grass rather than concrete before facing off with the demon, who quickly allowed a spike to shoot out of his hand. Ugh, a polgara demon. She didn’t like these things the last two times she had dealt with them and she sure as hell didn’t like them now. Not that they were that tough to kill but still, if she got stuck with the spike thing he had going on then it wouldn’t feel good.
Luckily she was able to snap it’s neck before it got too close and then was able to catch up with the group, not noticing that several people in the distance were pointing up at something seemingly in the sky.

Bigger than any car and most houses in the town, a Dragon flew above the rooftops. It’d come out of the portal in the field that’d been opened by Glory. Breathing fire onto the trees in the field it spread it’s large wings out fully and took off. Dipping and diving to lift higher into the air or lower, spreading fire’s onto houses as well. Sirens went off in the distance as they headed to put out the fires and attend to injured people. The Dragon roared as it passed by all of the humans scattering the streets and sidewalks.
It flew right towards town, ending up flying directly above Main Street. People below began to point at it and it roared as it passed by them, occasionally lighting a car or so on fire. People panicked and started to flee, though some remained simply staring and pointing at it in disbelief. Never landing, it simply passed by. The flapping of its wings was quite loud and created a small draft as it passed by. Fire seemed to be overtaking the street, cars exploding every now and then. Main Street was in complete chaos.

Angel was still absolutely dumbfounded that Buffy was alive again. He’d felt her lifeless body in her hands, felt that she hadn’t had a pulse. Not to mention he’d heard, or rather not heard, her unbeating heart…And yet here she was. It’d freaked him out at first and he’d simply stared, causing himself to get thrown off of the top of the tower and catapulted to the bottom of the field. The shock was lesser now but there were still a million questions going through his mind. Now wasn’t a good time for questions now though, not when there were literally demons just about everywhere. Most of them had taken to fleeing to the suburbs and the field was a lot emptier now. Simply staring at Buffy for a moment, he nodded to them all agreeably. Turning to Connor, he studied the boy’s arm and looked him up and down. ”When you get back, have Faith snap your arm back into place” with this, he turned and headed off with his group.
Which…happened to include Spike. He wasn’t all that happy about it but he knew now wasn’t the time to act childish. The four of them marched out of the field and headed directly towards town. Faith and Connor could fend off the demons from Dawn in the suburbs on their way back, they would take Main Street. Most demons had either fled to the neighborhoods or to town. In a split second Buffy took off in one direction and from the front, the other three were met by a group of reddish brown looking demons. Three on three which seemed like good odds to him. Immediately they each squared off on their own, Willow using her magic, and Angel and Spike using their fists. As Angel’s ran at him he bent over and flipped the demon over his back and onto the hood of a burning car. His fist pummeled the demon and Angel took the free moment to pull the already drooping bumper off of the car. Bringing it down on the demon’s face, he nearly severed his head from his body. Tossing the bumper aside he watched Willow and Spike finish before continuing.
The streets were completely chaotic. People and demons alike were running amuck in every which direction. For some reason the streets were on fire…Cars were burning, as were buildings, and some even started to collapse. A couple of police officers fired off rounds at the demons to which did no good while people ran screaming past them. Ahead…a group of people stood staring at the sky and pointing. Angel lifted his eyes to see what all of the fuss was about. A Dragon…in the middle of main street. His brow creased. ”Mine” he stated simply, before taking off down an alley. Pushing a couple of demons out of his way he pulled himself up a fire escape on the side of the building.
Climbing onto the rooftop he ran as fast as he could, jumping over the closer roof tops and never losing speed. Reaching the end of the last roof top he finally found himself within jumping distance of the Dragon. Catapulting himself off of the building, he jumped and landed on the Dragon’s back. Nearly slipping off, he just barely pulled himself by it’s scales to sit on it’s back. It’s head began to shake and it tried to shake him off but he held steady. Realizing he had no weapon...he found himself wondering what in the hell he was supposed to do now. The Dragon breathed fire over it’s back and he ducked out of it’s way, keeping a tight hold as it moved through the sky.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Willow was still in shock from Buffy being back, she still was trying to understand how she wasn’t dead. Now she knew that Buffy was pretty much insensible; but she didn’t know she was death proof. She looked like nothing had never happen to her, well she was a little beat up from the fighting, but she didn’t look like she just died. Willow stood there with Dawn, she could tell that she was just as shocked and happy as she was. They both knew they would have been lost without Buffy in there lives. Buffy had gotten everyone attention and begin to give the plan, it was sad that there life was so hectic they couldn’t even say anything to each other. After all ten minutes ago they thought there best friend was gone, it just shows they can never catch a break. It seemed the plan was set everyone was to get home where they would be safe, keep dawn safe more or less. But not Buffy, Angel, Spike and Willow, they were to clean up the mess that was being spilled out. This witch had no questions just answers in taking care of what was taking over the town, she was ready now more then ever. Willow could hear the crying and screaming coming down the streets, the she couldn’t help but feel like she was going to cry for all the sacred family’s having to keep there kids safe. Which made her grow more Angry which was more fuel for her magic, she approached the first demon using a spell to push them back into a building wall. She was trying to avoid fire if she could, the town seemed like it had a enough fire going on as is. She was Taking down one demon after another using a powerful blow to each one, there was so many of them it was starting to get overwhelming. It was chaos and there were demons everywhere to the point she couldn’t even see the gang anymore, she wondered how everyone was holding up. Willow found a random bus that was tall enough that she could see everything from it, so she begin to climb on top of it so she could get a good look. She felt a lot better getting a view of everyone knowing they were safe, plus from up here it was a lot easier for Willow to use some magic on the demons. Then has Willow was up there casting spells fighting off demons, she looked over amazed and shocked at what she saw. “Oh that’s not good!” She said to herself when she saw the dragon. It was the last thing they needed with the demon running the city and all, plus killing this thing didn’t look easy. It looked as though Angel was going to attempt to take him on, but that’s Angel for you always being the crazy one taking on whatever he could. “Oh god I really hope Angel don’t get himself killed, other wise Buffy is going to wish she was dead.” The witch said to herself with worry. As the last of the demons in the field were exterminated, Spike could feel that his rage was not quite sated. He wandered near to the group as Buffy explained her plan to them all, but he was only half listening, his eyes looking out to where more of the baddies had slithered into Richmond proper, smelling the smoke and burning flesh from all the way out near the beach. Mostly, it was quite strange that a girl who had been definitely dead a couple of moments ago was now as right as rain and giving out orders. Of course, since killing things was what he wanted to, it wasn’t as if he was going to argue with her. When the blond Slayer asked if there were any questions, it seemed as if everyone had their own queries tucked away about how she came back and what the hell had happened to her in the first place, but even the impulsive Spike managed to keep his mouth shut. There really wasn’t anything complicated about going into the town and routing out the monsters anyway. With the homeward bound group on their way, the remaining four went to the town, the heat from fires and the smell of blood getting clearer and sharper as they got closer. Spike could feel his body tense up with excitement, knowing that there might be something in there that would give him a run for his money. Even taking on so many demons at a time could prove to be a nice challenge, even if Mr. Broody-pants was there trying to compete with him. Another part of him, a newer part, was actually concerned for the residents of the town’s safety as well. As Buffy took point, and the three auburn-ish demons confronted the remaining champions, Spike welcomed the opportunity to cause more chaos. While Angel beheaded his demon, and Willow blasted through several opponents at once, Spike grabbed his victim’s head and brought it down on a collision course with his knee. The crunch of its skull was a pretty satisfying sound. The screams that were filtering through the roar of battle suddenly got a little bit thicker, and Spike turned when he noticed the rest of his group was staring up into the sky. All leathery wings and breathing fire, a dragon happened to be one of the things that popped out of the portal. A new thrill coursed through him, but with one word, Angel claimed the kill and dashed off. ”Oi! You got the last one!” The Brit snarled after Angel, though his words obviously fell on deaf ears. Muttering curses under his breath, Spike wove and battered his way through the writhing mob of demons to get to follow his sire as he jumped on the bloody dragon’s back. Without a weapon. Well, that one had been thought out well, hadn’t it, Peaches? Racing to the next outcrop of buildings, Spike launched himself onto a dumpster and from there a ladder. He scaled the building in seconds, but it was still difficult to keep up with the dragon, even with his supernatural speed. Trying to avoid the trails of fire that spewed from the creature’s mouth, Spike was also trying to find anything that he could throw up to Angel. Not that he really wanted to be helpful to the poof, but this was a bleeding dragon, and he was determined to get some part of bringing it down, even if it was supplying the murder weapon. Unfortunately, swords and axes weren’t littering the rooftops quite yet, so Spike merely shouted out of instinct more than anything else, ”Punch him in the eye!” +++ TAGS: Buffy, Dragon, Angel, Willow WORD COUNT: 613 NOTES: Spike has the best plans.
- - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - -Finally noticing the group of people looking up at the sky she did the same and was surprised to see a large dragon circling the town. She had no idea how the hell she was going to take that thing down since she still didn’t have a weapon at her disposal. She figured if it landed she could do something but until then she was going to have to sit tight. However before she could even begin to do anything else she heard Angel’s voice which simply said mine and off he went. She watched him pull himself up a fire escape and climb up onto a rooftop. She briefly likened him to a little boy who was anxious to get his hands on the toys under the tree for Christmas as she watched him jump on the dragon's back. Her eyes squinted and her head was tilted a bit to the side, wondering where the normally stoic vampire was. Before she could comment she heard Spike's voice from behind her almost whining about how he got the last one. She wasn’t sure if she wanted to know exactly what that meant but figured she’d get that story another time.
She watched as Spike followed his sire, finding this strange albeit funny since they normally avoided each other as much as possible. A bit concerned over the jets of fire that were spewing from the dragon's mouth since both vampires were highly flammable she figured that if they needed help they’d ask for it. She did have to let out a snort when Spike called out to punch the dragon in the eye. "It's not a shark Spike!" She yelled out, remembering having seen an episode of some science television show where they did an episode on punching Shark's in the eye if you were being eaten. She couldn't even remember the show but remembered watching that.
Before she could do anything or even begin to search for a weapon she felt herself being pushed to the ground. Looking up she saw a Turok-Han and realized that this was worse than she had assumed. Especially since she had no way of killing it. “Shit.” She muttered, kicking as hard as she could in order to fling the thing off of her. Looking around she saw a piece of barbed wire hanging from a fence and realized the irony of it. Running and making a grab for it she quickly turned and ducked just in time as the ubber-vamp sent a large kick her way. It took her several moments before she was able to get behind it but finally she was, though her body felt like she had been run over by a mac-truck. She pulled as hard as she could and the barbed wire finally pierced it’s skin and beheaded it. Sighing in relief she looked around, refusing to look at the two vampires playing with the damn dragon.
Finally seeing Willow on top of a bus she headed over, pulling herself up so that she was standing next to her. “Any luck on seeing where anymore went? I can’t find them and I really don’t want to go too far with Dumb and Dumber over there playing with a dragon.” She told her with a roll of her hazel eyes. She looked around and luckily for her didn’t see any more demons or vampires running around but that probably wasn’t such a good thing since that meant they were just farther in town. “Come on you two! We gotta go and you’re wasting time! Kill it and be done with it!” She yelled up, having no idea if they heard her. She briefly felt like a mother telling her two children they were done playing on the playground.
Could her life get any weirder.
The Dragon had indeed been enjoying itself until some creature leapt onto it’s back. Immediately the Dragon thrashed and swung it’s wings attempting to throw it off. When it didn’t let up, the big beast spit fire out over it’s shoulder and yet the creature still never let up. It seemed that the creature was some sort of parasite determined to stay back there. Continuing to fly through the city it turned and spun, upside down and all around attempting to relieve itself from the being attached to it’s shoulders to no avail. It did a quick spin which nearly caused the thing to fall off, but the being held on to one of it’s scales and was relentless. With a piercing screech the Dragon grew angrier by the moment. It didn’t know what this place was and it didn’t like it. Deciding it wanted to return to it’s own dimension, it did a quick U-turn and began heading back down main street and towards the field again.
The being on it’s back climbed back up and It felt a pang in it’s left eye. It screeched again and started diving downwards. All the way down it spewed fire from it’s mouth and it’s large teeth shone underneath the light of the moon. Diving straight down for the street, it’s left eye was sore and it could no longer see very well out of it. With clouded vision the Dragon continued it’s descent. It was determined to be rid of this creature one way or another.
Clearly the dragon was not enjoying giving Angel a ride. As he held on to it’s back, it seemed to dip and dive an awful lot than it had originally. Conveniently for it too, Angel had hopped on without a real plan nor a weapon. It hadn’t been thought out very well by the vampire and he was now regretting that. Fighting this dragon brought back memories of back in Los Angeles. They’d fought a similar demon there and Angel had ended up taking it down nearly single handedly. He knew that Spike would be wanting a piece of this one, and that was why he’d taken off so quickly. Their rivalry wouldn’t ever seem to go away and this was another way to get one up on him. Plus…who didn’t want to slay a dragon every now and then? The story alone was worth it.
The fire nearly hit him in the face and he just barely moved out of it’s way. If he didn’t think up a plan sometime soon he was going to be ash blowing in the wind. It made him slightly nauseous to be flown so erratically but he knew it was the demon’s way of getting rid of him. Holding on as tight as possible, he heard a familiar and not so friendly voice from below. After thinking about the suggestion for a moment Angel figured it was his only option at this point. Not knowing quite else what to do, he slowly pulled himself by the dragon’s scales up to rest on it’s shoulders. As it reared it’s big ugly head to spew fire Angel crashed down on it’s eyes with one of his fists. The dragon screeched and began spiraling downwards. It hadn’t worked out quite the way he’d wanted to…and now he was headed face first right into main street. All the way down the dragon continued to spit fire, causing buildings to catch and cars as well. The few trees lining the street went up in flames as well, causing the entire main street to look like a fiery mess.
Seeing no other way out of this predicament, Angel scooted back to the dragon’s behind and held on there to avoid the rising flames. His brows furrowed as they both neared the ground and he braced himself for the collision. Just as they passed the tree line, Angel spotted Buffy yelling from atop a bus in the street. In a quick decision he let go of the scales and allowed himself to fall on top of the bus as well, nearly colliding with Willow. Rolling into a standing position he quickly dove and tackled both Buffy and Willow, one in each arm, and they all hit the ground behind the bus. Just in time too, as they hit the dragon spewed fire right towards where they’d been standing. The hood of the bus was on fire before they knew it, and their time was limited as the dragon had gotten to it’s feet. ”Sorry about that. None of us are very flame resistant” he said with a smirk, before standing up and helping the girls up as well.
Hoping that Spike was off finding a weapon or doing something useful, Angel moved to stand behind the bus with his back against the windows. Sliding to the end he peeked around the corner to see the dragon making it’s way over to them. ”I don’t think he’s very happy with me. Willow, can you do anything to block the flames?” he asked, sliding back around the corner just in time to avoid more fire.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~The witch still couldn’t believe that Angel was actually going to try and take on a dragon! What was he even thinking, sadly though he acted like he had done this before? She did feel a bit relive though seeing that Spike was on his way to help him. Which couldn’t ether be a good thing or a bad thing. Ether they will kick it butt and win, or they will both fight on who gets to kill it first and get killed in the process. Willow is sacred to see how this turns out really, The witch then looked over to see Buffy taking on what looked like a Turok-Han. “Oh god I think she might need my help.” But before Willow could do anything a demon had grabbed her, it was holding her by the neck almost strangling her. “Sorry to tell you this but..” Lightning stuck out of her hand, shocking the demon enough to make him lose his grip. She threw him over her shoulder and off the bus, knocking him to the ground. “You mess with the wrong witch!” Looking over she notice that Buffy was ok as well, finishing off the Turok-Han and making her way over to her. Buffy and her looked around and didn’t see anymore Vampires or demons in site. “Well I would like to think that we sacred them off, but sadly it might be the fact that there is a big dragon in the sky. I don’t think this dragon cares who’s on its side, I think its safe to say its killing everything and anything in its path.” She then looked over at the two still taking on the Dragon, it seemed like they were still alive and ok. But what was scary was it seemed like Spike and Angel were actually getting along, it seemed like they were having more fun then anything. “Buffy they are having way to much fun , so grab a seat and some popcorn we could be here awhile.” Willow said while exhaling. Then as they were standing there Angel was making there way towards them on the dragon. The street along with some trees were on fire from the dragon, Willow knew she needed to do something other wise this town would be Sunnydale all over again. But before she could do anything Angel had collided into Buffy and Willow, knocking them down off the bus. She quickly gabbed Angels hand as he helped her up,. “Thanks Angel.” She said with a smile. They all peeked around the bus, seeing the dragon on its way back for more. “ I can stop the flames that he has made, but he will just make more. Making it imposable for you to fight him. But what I can do it use a spell to block the flames from you, think of it has a mega shield protecting you. What you think want to try it?” She asked waiting for his response. Skirting around the flames, which seemed to grow more in number and size the closer he got to the dragon, Spike continued to tail it across the rooftops. He wasn’t exactly sure what he was doing, other than seeing if he could find a sword or anything that could be used to stab the thing. But then again, the creature’s hide looked pretty thick and almost impenetrable. It had also seemed to have noticed Angel’s presence, and its flight pattern became even more erratic and hard to follow. He thought he heard Buffy calling him from below, and wondered if she wanted back up, but a quick glance confirmed that she was doing fine on her own, now taking out a Turok-Han without batting an eye, and soon she was calling up to them, asking for them to speed things along. Well, if they could get the damned thing grounded, maybe it would be easier, but for now, it would be a bit tough to fell it without something sharp and deadly. Focusing back on the giant flying lizard, it was evident that the older vampire was following Spike’s advice, struggling to find his way to the dragon’s neck and popping it in its eye. In Spike’s experience, punching solved all sorts of problems. Then again, maybe striking the dragon while it was still in mid-air had its flaws as well, considering that it was suddenly dropping out of the sky, hurling fire everywhere it went. Spike had to nearly fall to the floor to try to avoid a streak of flame, but soon, he was scaling down the side of the building again, cold metal and brick threatening to scrape the skin off of his fingers. Hitting the ground, he barely paused before Spike spotted a fallen street light, splintered in half by something with a much greater strength than any vampire could have. But the jagged metal pole was twice as thick as Spike’s arm, and he figured it would go nicely through the dragon’s chest cavity. With a grunt, he hefted it up into his grip and took off running again. It wasn’t hard to spot the dragon, as it dwarfed everything else in the street, and it seemed as if it was trying to retreat back to the portal. Poor dumb beastie couldn’t probably even tell that the portal it came through was long gone. From what Spike could tell, the rest of the group was hiding behind a bus and the dragon was advancing on them already. There was good news in that and bad news. The good news was that Spike was pretty sure that the dragon wouldn’t notice him rushing up behind him, probably giving him a slight advantage. The bad news was their shelter was on fire, and with as much fuel that was in busses, it was likely to explode. And while exploding a bus in the dragon’s face would most likely be effective, Buffy and Willow would get caught in the blast as well. Trying to halt the beast before it added any more flames onto the bus, Spike managed to catch up with it, his makeshift spear in hand. Now only a short distance from it, Spike tried to decide what exactly he should do with his weapon. He could throw it, trying to catch the dragon’s head, but that wasn’t likely to happen. So, instead, he went for a safer bet, and, waiting for the perfect timing, attempted to drive the metal pole through its tail and down into the concrete. If it couldn’t move too much, it’d be that much easier to kill. Though, obviously, Spike had never tried this before and had no idea if it would work. +++ TAGS: Buffy, Dragon, Angel, Willow WORD COUNT: 622 NOTES: ~

- - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - -She watched as the dragon seemed to rear up and try to get Angel off of him. She had a spasm of fear jolt through her as she realized (not that she didn't realize it before) that if Angel wasn't careful that he would be burnt to a crisp. Neither vampire were particularly flame retardant so if they were hit they'd both be ash. Seeing a jet of flames almost hit Angel in the face caused her to grab Willow's arm in fear before letting go, wanting nothing more than to run and do something but not having any idea exactly what to do to help.
She watched in morbid fascination as Angel apparently took Spike's advice and punched the dragon in the eye. She wasn't sure what exactly he had been intending for that to do however it seemed to just piss the dragon off more and also knocked him not out but a little loopy which led them both tumbling towards the ground. Now, she knew that a fall like that wouldn’t kill Angel unless there was a wooden beam that staked him through the heart or if someone decapitated him, however she knew it would hurt like hell. She also saw that the dragon’s aim with his fire was even worse now that he was falling which meant Angel was in even greater danger of being set on fire. None of these things filled her with confidence…though she knew Angel would be annoyed if she tried to save him.
Stupid macho men.
Apparently her voice had carried enough for Angel to hear her or at least notice her presence as she watched him jump off the dragon and fall down, almost landing on Willow though luckily he missed at the last inch. She watched him stand up and then dive on top of them, knocking all three of them off the bus and landing behidn it. "Ow." She stated, more to prove a point than from actual pain. Once Angel had stood up and offered his hands she used it to pull herself up, looking at her best friend. "You okay?" She asked, waiting for a response before turning back and glaring at Angel. "We're more flame resistant than you are." She told him before smacking his arm, hard. "I thought you were going to take that damn thing home as a pet!" She shrieked at him.
She finally caught sight of Spike as she saw him with a huge metal pole in his hand. “Uhh guys?” She asked, pointing to where Spike was behind the dragon. “Let’s do something before he gets himself killed.” She stated before shooting a glare at Angel. “And don’t you say a damn word.” Knowing that Angel would most likely grumble something about serves him right or god knows what else she cut him off before he could. “So what’s the plan Mr. Dragon Slayer?” She asked the dark haired vampire, not used to having to ask anyone else to run the show. The only reason she hadn’t take the reins was because he called that it was his and she didn’t want to take away his fun. That didn’t stop her from feeling a moment of resentment since she had never been any good at taking directions or following orders.
Luckily her slight case of resentment didn’t show on her face as she waited for him to tell them what to do. She knew that he was probably aware of the feeling since she was sure he felt it from time to time now that he was used to running things himself. No matter what either said they both had large egos when it came to this stuff so it was difficult to hand the saddle over to someone else.

Tumbling down into the ground hadn't even hurt the dragon. Landing on its feet, the concrete beneath it started to sink further into the ground from the pressure. Pieces of the street began to crack and creak up ever so slightly, causing trip hazards all over the place. The dragon felt the little pest fall off it's back and it huffed in relief. However it spotted the creature on top of a large item in the street, and spit a line of fire towards it. Angry that it missed the dragon started to pad over towards the large item. This creature was going to be lit up in flames, any second from now.
Before it had reached it's destination, something pierced through it's tail. With a glass shattering screech it reared it's head around to find that it couldn't move it's body. Even more angry, it spew a hurling ball of fire at the little yellow creature that had struck it. When it didn't hit, it turned back to face the group of mammals before it. Spewing out fire again, this time it turned in a circle making a complete barrier around itself. Now it needed to get it's tail undone. A dragon on the ground wasn't as safe as one in the air...
Note: Please do not attempt to godmod too much for the Chaos Account. The attacker will be eliminated after several posts. This is for fun and action inducing situations. Enjoy!

Just as he'd pulled around the corner a small piece of ember had fallen from a tree above and landed on his arm. Catching fire against his trench coat he quickly pulled it off his shoulders and tossed it away from him. He wouldn't be very much help as a pile of ash..."Damn it. That was my favorite coat..." he groaned, turning back to the girls with furrowed brows and anger in his eyes. Not so much over the coat, well a little, but mainly at the situation as a whole. Hearing Willow's tail end of her explanation he nodded to her quickly. "Do it" he stated, his voice determined. While he waited for her to do the incantation, he heard Buffy speaking and turned to her as well.
As she punched him he raised his eyebrows. It hadn't hurt...that much, but still. "I wanted to, but he's not housebroken" he said, seemingly joking but his face was completely serious. Whether or not he really would have liked to take the dragon home remained a mystery. In all honesty though...the beast certainly would have been useful if they had been able to housebreak him. Crouching down slightly, he peeked back around the now on fire bus to see Spike. "Christ." With this he pulled back around before any more flames could hit him. Spike was certainly going to get killed if someone didn't get out there. While he wouldn't mind seeing Spike blowing away in the wind, he knew Buffy would never forgive him. And only for her...he'd help save the bleached blonde vampire.
Turning to Willow just as she finished the spell, he watched as a glowing sort of shield seemed to surround him. As he reached his hand out, it didn't penetrate the shield. "Thanks Willow" he said, reaching over to touch a nearby bush that was on fire. He didn't catch fire, the flame didn't even phase him. Perfect. "You two need to either get away from this bus, or Willow needs to put the fire out. I'll deal with Spike and Mushu." Angel had just referenced the movie Mulan. Clearly he'd been spending far too much time with Katheryn..Nonetheless he gave both of the women a reassuring look before disappearing around the bus.
Out in plain sight, Angel watched just as the dragon spit a burst of fire right towards Spike. In a rash decision Angel put Willow's spell to the real test. In a blur of speed he jumped out in front of the blonde, taking all of the flames into the shield. They seemingly disappeared as they mixed with the glowing shield and both vampires remained unarmed. With a quick look back to Spike, he nodded towards the dragon. "I'll distract him up front. Try to get up to his head from behind" he ordered. While he would have liked to kill the dragon himself, he was more useful being the distraction right now. He couldn't be hurt by the flames and Spike could, so Spike needed to go in for the kill. The head was where it could be hurt..the scales and skin weren't as thick there.
With this, Angel stepped out right in front of the dragon. As he pushed forward closer to the beast, it spat flame after flame at him to no avail. Seemingly becoming frustrated, the beast's cry's became louder and louder. Finding himself in front of the dragon's chest, Angel struck it once, twice, three times. It didn't seem to hurt it at all but at least it seemed focused on Angel for the moment. Hopefully, Spike was making himself useful elsewhere.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Willow was still a little dizzy from hitting the ground, but with everything going on she really didn’t have time to think about the pain. “I’m doing ok I guess, are you ok Buffy? I mean you did just take on a Turok-Han as well as falling?” She asked her friend. Buffy had a point with Angel what was he even thinking trying to go near that thing, they were a lot more flame resistant then he was. Fire isn’t exactly a vampires best friend, just a little bit and they can burn up into nothing. But that was Angel for you not thinking about his own safety and worrying for others. All he cared about was killing this thing, But Willow was right there with him on this one. Which is why she is backing him up on this all the way. The dragon wont be destroying her new home, this witch will make sure of that. Shortly after Buffy looked over Willow did to noticing Spike with some kind of metal pole, that looked kind of like a spear. “Oh great what is he doing? He is going to get himself killed. But again what else it new?” It wasn’t really new to her, he was always doing something crazy. But Willow cant lie he has saved the day more times then she can count, staring with Sunnydale. If it wasn’t for Spike they all might not have made it out of there. But thanks to him and his bravery here they all stand. “Spike be careful!” Willow called out to the blond vampire. Willow waited listing to what the game plan was next, she was ready and willing to back Angel up on this. She knew she could do it controlling fire wasn’t to hard, it just took lots of concentration making sure the spell worked right. One wrong incantation could lead to a dead vampire and one very pissed off Slayer, which is the last thing Willow wanted. Angel was ready wanting her to go forward with the spell, this was a big one she had to make sure she took this carefully. She couldn’t break from her concentration for even a minute, she begin to say the spell making a barrier around Angel. “All right lets do this!” It was set he was now able to go in and hopefully end this thing. Willow had agreed to try and control the fire as he was fighting, she needed to other wise there wasn’t going to be any city left. She stood there near the bus and begin raise her hand controlling the fire, putting it out little by little at a time. She had cleared a path making it easier for Angel to get to the dragon, not that he needed it right now he could pretty much walk through fire from the spell on him. But just in case he didn’t need to push it, It was all ready giving Buffy the Wiggins having to watch him do this. The city was all ready starting to look better as Willow stopped some of the fire, now if only the dragon could stop making flames they be doing a whole lot better. Spike could hear a voice calling from past the dragon—Willow’s—asking him to be careful. Well, the sentiment was certainly appreciated, but they were past the point of being careful. They needed to either contain this beast or kill it, and unfortunately for it, the first choice was not really an option. So things definitely had to get messy. But if he could just stop it from moving any closer to the other three, perhaps the damage would be much diminished. So, with that hope in mind, Spike attempted to spear the tail of the dragon. Nothing was more satisfying than feeling when a pretty stupid idea goes well. The cry from when the dragon when it’s tail was impaled and pinned to the ground ripped through his ears painfully, but Spike was very pleased with himself. That was, until the dragon turned on him. His eyes flicked around him, noticing there was fire to either side of him and he probably couldn’t leap high enough to dodge the flame either. He could see the froth of flame begin to move past the beast’s maw. Tensing his muscles to move anywhere, he realized he was probably going to be a second too late. He felt the heat from the blast, and snapped his eyes shut mostly from pure instinct and the hot sirocco threatening to dry out his eyeballs if nothing else. But just a second after, most of the heat was gone, and there was Angel, a strange glow around him, which seemed to absorb all of the fire. It didn’t take a genius to guess that Willow had worked some of her witchy magic. Upon hearing his grandsire’s plans, Spike just gave a quick nod. There really was no time to talk. Buffy once asked him how they worked together in Los Angeles, and this was pretty much the answer. Stuff had to be done and there was no time to argue. Despite their differences, Spike’s raw aggression and Angel’s strategic battle style was a balanced combination. Besides, he was giving up the kill to him, and how could Spike disagree with that? The only thing was he had given up his weapon to pin down the dragon. Scanning the area as fast as he could, the vampire finally spotted a pretty average looking broadsword stuck in the hood of a car, and made a dash to grab it. With a grunt of effort and a horrible scraping metal sound, Spike pulled it from the car and made off with it. In the meantime, he noticed that the dragon had made a wall of fire around itself, trapping Angel inside. Perhaps he was fireproof, but Spike was pretty sure that Angel had not been made teeth and claw proof. Once again going into his fastest sprint, Spike ran directly at a semi truck close to the ring of fire, and used the momentum to scale up the truck, and with one last burst of speed and strength, kicked off of the very top to launch himself past the flames. But it didn’t end there. The blond Brit made for the Dragon’s tail, and climbed up onto it. The rest of the dragon was constantly moving trying to retaliate against Angel’s attacks, but Spike managed to keep his footing and made it to stand on the dragon’s neck. The top of the dragon’s head appeared to have a soft spot, so, raising the sword as far as he could, Spike thrust the blade down towards it’s weak point. +++ TAGS: Buffy, Dragon, Angel, Willow WORD COUNT: 590 NOTES: Yay!
