-------------------------- -------------------------- Dawn was devastated about Buffy. She never wanted to feel what is like to lose a sister ever again and now that is what she was feeling. The same feeling she had the last time Buffy used herself as the sacrifice in Glory’s ritual so Dawn wouldn’t have to die came over again. Her sister was gone. That was all Dawn could think about. Her mind was on overdrive now. She felt rage at Buffy for dying again, at Glory for her stupid ritual and for killing her, the current demons around them for just being there and interrupting them when they were mourning her sister. Buffy was the only family she had left, yes her friends were like family but it wasn’t the same as Buffy. She needed Buffy back.
Rage and needing Buffy back was all that was in her mind as she fought the demons that were around them. She was next to Spike as she knew he would want her to stay close to him. Willow was close by her as well. She swung the axe at a demon chopping it in half. Big mistake though as she wasn’t paying attention; a demon came in from beside her swinging at her. She saw him as he swung and tried her best to move out of the way, of course though the demon grazed her arm which produce a big gash in her left arm. She frowned about her arm but didn’t stop fighting. She couldn’t after all because of all her friends, they needed her help. She was fighting demons when she was pulled from behind. She thought it was another demon so as she turned she brought the ax up but stopped as soon as she saw it was Buffy. That can’t be right she thought to herself and continued that thought with I must be hallucinating. That is it. Buffy told her to go stand by Conner and stay out of the fight but how did she know that was really Buffy. She frowned as Buffy went over to Faith. She just stared at her seeming like she was in a daze. Could Buffy really be back? She didn’t know but she hoped she was and the only way she would find out would be after the battle, which she wasn’t going to stay out of.
She was still in her daze when Willow came up behind her and asked if she was seeing things. Good thing she started speaking because Dawn almost swung her ax at her. She continued staring at Buffy though pondering Willows question. So Willow saw her as well. I see her to Willow. I thought that maybe I was going insane with grief or something and was hallucinating or something she said slowly. She then realized she had been losing a lot of blood while fighting the demons after her arm had gotten cut. Adrenaline did that to you of course. She tore off a piece of her shirt which wasn’t cool because she liked this shirt and tied it on her arm at the cut. That should help she thought to herself.
Of course soon as she told Willow she saw Buffy to she heard Xander say that Buffy was back. Xander sees her as well she said with a smile on her face. That means she is back, she really is back he said. Dawn was happy to have her sister back though she soon had to go back to fighting. A demon came up on her swinging its weapon and Dawn blocked it just in time. Time to show Buffy I am not a defenseless little kid she thought as she fought the demon. -------------------------- WORD COUNT: 618 TAG::Scoobies Gang OUTFIT::OMG! CLICK HERE! - - - - - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - - - - - Appearing out of nowhere and just in time, Connor plummeted against a beast coming to her rescue. Wide eyes watched as the boy went down with the beast to the ground. Stepping out with her left foot she attempted to move towards him to offer assistance, but was cut off before she could make it to him. Two feral looking vampires grabbed both of her arms and reeled her back. Literally lifted off the ground her legs kicked anxiously attempting to push them off her. It did, but it also sent her flying backwards and landing on the ground...right between them.
The hammer was once again lost in the fray and she realized she hadn't any other weapons on her. Both of her arms stuck out to the sides, the only thing keeping their fangs from her neck. Both of them snarled and attempted to stretch to meet the skin of her neck, but she held steady. Unable to move she quickly thought this really might be it. It might be her final fight, the last battle she pulled through. From above she saw...Buffy? And immediately she assumed that she was already dead. "Shit" she muttered, still barely holding the vampires back. She really had died...
And then Buffy spoke? Despite being completely confused, she began to suspect that she was hallucinating. However the familiar sound of the blonde's voice brought her back into reality, and immediately she nodded her head back to the blonde. Buffy pulled one of the vampires up and off of her and Faith rolled to the side, grabbing the other with both hands by the collar and pulling herself up to straddle him. Using only her fists she started to pummel the vamp before leaving him with a swift kick to the gonads and pulling herself up to her feet. Without a stake, she kicked him once more to make sure he stayed down and then located the troll hammer she'd allowed to slip out of her hands again.
Kicking it up into her hand by the wooden handle, her eyes flooded back to the blonde curiously. "You really back, or have I finally gone batshit?" she asked quickly, before hearing the sounds of more intruders in the distance. Backing up completely, she put her back against Buffy's and they stood as such, fighting off the approaching foes. She wasn't sure how or when Buffy had come back, but at the moment, she couldn't be bothered to ask. They'd all have a nice little sit down later when they weren't being swarmed with hordes of demons. Right now, there were more important matters at hand, surprisingly enough. From a far off corner, fire cast Connor's face in shadow as his broken left arm coiled tight against his chest. This was bad, far from impossible but sure all hell pretty close. As the feral vampire circled him, chuckling; Connor rolled his eyes. "If you feel an evil monologue coming on, by all means go on without me." He quipped, eyes frantically searching the bodies of the fallen for anything helpful. As the vampire lashed out with a clawed lightning fast blur of a strike, Connor front rolled out of the way. By the grace of the Powers, his boot crunched down on the wrist of one of the already slain horde; releasing the death grip on it's weapon.
A scimitar spilled from the jet black hand, the creature's white hair a matted mess stained with scarlet blood. With his good hand, Connor unbuckled the belt, grabbing the scabbard as he came up to standing. Throwing it over his shoulder for a passable makeshift overhand draw later, Connor bound his injured arm down tight. Spinning the sword comfortably in his right to test it's balance, he sliced out at the advancing vampire. Happy with the crippling thigh gash, Connor felt himself getting tugged to his left by someone significantly shorter than he was. Stumbling back a stunned pace, he couldn't help but blink up in shock at the woman he thought he'd never see again.
"…Buffy?" His voice cracked, as his eyes heated with the promise of tears that began to well up unbidden. She was here, she was alive. Maybe God listens to prayers after all… Her words fueled him, gave him purpose and like the Templar he was, Connor obeyed the Lady. "No one touches her." He swore before he took off at break neck speed, the muscles in his thighs groaning in pain and exertion. As he ran by Willow, Connor gave her a comforting smile and nod, hoping the black around the edges wouldn't dim his fiery friend. "I believe in you Red, you've got this." So often warriors fell in battle when the morale was at it's lowest. If all he could do was protect Dawn and be the Pedagogue of the Slayer he'd do it with a song in his heart. And that meant tapping his inner bard, so be it.
Coming to a halt in front of the tower, Connor spun about on his heel and started looking around for Dawn. Taking out a few scraggling nasties with a well placed arc of his new sword, Connor swore under his breath when he saw her fighting one on one with a rather large beast. Turning back into the fray, and contemplating investing in some easier to run in footwear, he came up behind the brunette woman. Turning to place her back against his, Connor took a swing at one of the quadrupedal demons before tossing a tease over her shoulder. "Please don't make me out to be a liar, sweetheart? Let's bring this party a bit closer to where Big Sis intended, savvy?"
With a boot to the chest of one of the nearby gnashing beasties, Connor sheathed his sword and reached out with his right hand to weave into Dawn's. "Watch my back?" He asked, fully trusting the sister of the Slayer to be as much of a bad ass as her sibling before taking off at a run. Don't get dead. Don't get the girl dead. No pressure.

Bollocks. He had run out of buckshot. Spike enjoyed weapons a lot, but every one of them seemed to have a downfall of one kind or another. In any case, the vampire just shifted his grip on the gun and it became a makeshift club just fine. Aimed right, he could properly bash in demon brains and kill in one clean hit. And, frankly, he knew he had to be efficient. The more experienced fighters in this skirmish were probably holding up well, but Dawn and Xander would probably have more trouble as the battle went on. And while he was reluctant to tell the younger Summers girl to put down the axe and get somewhere safe, Spike was becoming increasingly worried that one misstep could end up with both sisters dead tonight. He stepped up his vigilance and picked off anything in Dawn’s vicinity that looked like something above her abilities. And then he heard a voice over the rush of battle. Buffy’s back. By the voice’s timbre, Spike guessed it had to have been Xander. Had they all been too hasty in deciding she was gone? No, he would have heard a heartbeat… probably. Looking to the sky, the Brit could see that the portal blazing in the sky just a moment ago had been snuffed out, and only a few feet away, where Dawn was, he caught a glimpse of blond hair. He heard Buffy ordering her sister to get to the safer location of the tower, before she disappeared back into the confusion. He was tempted to chase after her, but Dawn was still in the thick of battle, refusing to move, and he wasn’t going anywhere until he was convinced she was safe. But only a few moments later, Connor had taken a place at the girl’s back, and from what he said, Spike could somewhat piece together that Buffy had sent him there. What, was he not good enough that he needed help from a boy with what seemed to be a broken arm? However, the vampire’s ire was short lived, or perhaps funneled into his attack against a Grimslaw demon, twisting over the giant six legged spider with a properly timed kick and crushing its tender skull beneath his foot. Although, with the boy there, Spike did feel like he could take more risks. Fighting harder would also help with how he was trying to not focus on his feelings on Buffy’s return. Coming back from the dead seemed to be a habit that a lot of people had these days, so why the hell not Buffy for the third or fourth time? As it was, Spike wasn’t about to complain. Now more or less solely focusing on fighting, he was going to make this a bloodbath. Why the hell not have fun with it? It was more than likely that they would have to retreat before all of these beasties were killed, so he had to get in his kicks while he could. A dark little smile appeared on his face as Spike grabbed up some kind of metal staff and set off on the next round of enemies. +++ TAGS: Scoobiessss WORD COUNT: 527 NOTES: ~

- - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - -Ducking as she felt rather than heard a demon come up behind her she quickly moved so that the demon flipped over her. Doing a summersault she quickly landed next to Spike, noting that Faith was okay. Taking on a demon that looked vaguely familiar she quickly snapped it’s neck before smiling at Spike in thanks for watching out for Dawn as usual. “I sent him over there not to get hurt. Not to help you.” She told him, having seen the slight ire in his eyes. She couldn’t say much more as demons were trying to overtake them though quite a few had headed out into the town, something that she really needed to look at in order to help people.
Looking around she noted that they were all down to very few demons, which could be construed as a good thing and a bad thing. She knew that most of them had headed off into the woods or into the town, which unfortunately she was going to have to deal with before taking a long hot soak in a bath. She also was going to have to talk to Faith before she could relax and let her know what exactly had gone on with the oracles. She knew she also would need to talk to Xander, Willow, Spike, Dawn, and especially Angel but for now she just wanted to get this over with in order to relax and to allow herself to think about what had gone on.
Noting that all the demons were gone…at least the ones that they had been fighting she quickly got the group’s attention and headed over to where Dawn and Connor were standing. “Alright, we need to split up. Faith, Dawn, Connor and Xander…I need you guys to head back to the boarding house. I don’t know what Glory is planning on doing now that I’m “dead” and she’s still here…so go back there, barricade the doors, not that it’ll do much good, and stay there. None of those girls are strong enough to take on Glory. If Vi is there tell her to keep her butt there and help with making sure no one leaves. If Giles is there do not under any circumstances tell him that I died. I’ll figure out a way to tell him later. If Jenny’s there ask her to try and do some sort of barrier that she can keep up until we get home.” She told them, continuing on without giving anyone any time to interject.
“Angel, Spike, Willow and I are going to take the long way home. We are going to walk into town and see if we can get any of the demons who ran off. I do not want this to turn into apocalypse now and unfortunately I think it could if we don’t do something. Does anyone have any questions?” She asked, silencing Dawn with a glare as she opened her mouth to protest about being sent home. This was definitely not the time to argue.
She watched as the group headed off before turning to her part of the group. “Everyone ready?” She asked, not liking the fact that she still was without a weapon.
